The best part about concerts is the incredible feeling you get when your body is taken over by the music. Your hearing is totally shot, but it's a miracle that you've adapted so quickly as to hear what's going on. Your mind, body, and spirit is completely honed in to the sound. Skylar was totally absorbed in the music. It had been a long month that she had these tickets burning in her pocket, and it was totally worth the wait.
Suddenly a new sound began, but it wasn't like what she was used to. She knew these songs back to front, inside and out, and this wasn't anything like an instrument. It all began clearer as people started streaming, yelling, running. The band was ushered off stage by security, and people were stampeding out the doors. Skylar's heart raced as she was swept up in the crowd, but when she stumbled, she was easily stomped on, losing consciousness for a few minutes until a hooded figure grabbed her off the floor.
Woozy, she was still able to tell it wasn't a concert-goer or security, and she began flailing. In a flash she was dropped onto the concrete on her back, completely knocking the wind out of her, and was kicked in the ribs, making her whimper. She laid there, frozen as the man began tying her hands and feet with zip-ties, and she was picked up again and dropped into a pile of maybe 15 other people in the same situation as her
When she thought the attackers weren't looking, she hit the SOS button on her phone, sending a panic signal to the police and the few designated contacts - in this case, her family and her best friend Sterling. It wasn't long before she was noticed, the phone was pried from her bound hands, and the but of a gun hit her temple and she was knocked unconscious
