Interested in the second spellcaster role — thinking potentially an older, Ohlone-inspired advisor character from a Teotl border region not fully incorporated — potentially some variety of water- or stone-based magic, so that he clearly doesn’t fit in? — accustomed to the brutality of the capital’s court by experience and not by nature. He’s either been given the role of second spellcaster as appeasement to a border region or as a “keep your enemies closer” sort of thing — this guy would not be realistically in line for high priesthood in anything but name.
