Leo Fischer
Leo rolled his wand in his hand, waiting as the line edged forward. They had finished the written portion of the exam and had now moved on to demonstrations, the Levitation Charm first. Wingardium Leviosa was a spell everyone in the room had known since their first year. Leo was no different, and Charms was one of the two subjects he excelled in. When he reached the front of the line, he raised his wand with practiced ease and his movements, while not necessarily elegant, were efficient and clean. He spoke the charm without hesitation, watching as the feather lifted into the air. It rested in place for the required time, not moving an inch more than Leo let it, and then he lowered it back to the table.

The Cheering Charm was next in line. Leo was less enthused about the addition than the rest of the students. He didn't like the manipulation of emotions, no matter the purpose, but at least now they weren't required to partner with other students for the casting. The effects had to be monitored more closely now, because even if this was for moral, it was still technically part of the test. It was, however, clear that students were getting into the spirit of things. The charm was being cast on friends as the test went on, smiles gracing the faces of many in the room and the professors not moving to stop anything, though perhaps that would change if the casting got too out of hand.

Eventually Leo's turn came. He raised his wand towards the volunteer, casting the charm and watching as a large grin formed on their face. Leo nodded to himself, happy with the outcome. Though he hadn't practiced this charm too often, he'd controlled it well. There had already been a few volunteers escorted from the room, laughter coursing through them -more than Leo would have thought, but he suspected that could be attributed to the stress from certain recent events- and it had certainly risen the spirits of the students watching. And with his turn finished, Leo rejoined the line, watching as the remaining students cast their charms before the exam would move on to the Deprimo portion.

The Cheering Charm was another spell that Dominique was confident about. She could remember practicing on others during her free periods and whenever she met with her study group. Dominique partnered up with another member of the Dueling Club. Her movements were swift and elegant as she cast. Dominique watched as her partner grinned and let loose a little cheer. Now she didn’t particularly like having a spell like that cast on her yet she would have to suck it up. They were in a safe environment and also surrounded by teachers and aurors. Dominique felt the spell as it hit her and suddenly she was giddy. A bright smile made its way onto her face and she laughed lightly. The spell was canceled as soon as she laughed. Dominique nodded to her partner before moving on.

Next up was the demonstration of the Deprimo Charm. Dominique stood in line with the rest of the students. She watched as those before her preformed the charm. Dominique watched carefully, to paid close attention to catch any mistakes. By doing this she would make sure that she make the same mistakes. Before long it was her turn. Dominique readied her wand‍. Her words her firm and powerful as she spoke and her wand movements were the same. She was pleased once the wood was shattered. Dominique moved on to the next portion of the exams.

The Protego was another charm that she was more than familiar with. Being a member of the Duelling Club meant that Dominique used the spell often. Again Dominique paired up with the boy from the Duelling Club. They would only be throwing harmless spells towards one another in order to block. Dominique went first, she cast the Jelly-Legs curse at her partner. He managed defend himself just before the curse hit him. He was pushed back a little from the force of it hitting his shield. Once the charm was cancelled Dominique readied her self. As soon as she heard him speaking the spell her shield was up. The curse bounced off and Dominique stood as tall and proud as ever.

Thomas found himself consistently partnering up with Wendy - the woman insisting that she'd be more comfortable casting spells at someone she'd been practicing with for a while. Thomas, of course, agreed to it. The Cheering Charm was a spell Thomas had known even before he entered Ilvermorny - a spell that he heard about and wanted to try on himself. That particular urge didn't happen to him much anymore - he was capable of cheering himself up whenever he got down. Thomas went first - his motions fluid and practiced and Wendy burst out laughing, holding her abdomen as she tried to suppress the laughter. He dispelled the effects and Wendy still kept the grin, but it only turned into a smirk as she cast the spell on him at that time. He smiled, then grinned then began to laugh that airy laugh he usually did whenever someone told a good joke. The effects didn't last and they bumped their fists against each other for a job well done.

The young man fidgeted with his wand as he moved up the line for the Deprimo charm test. He hadn't gotten as much training as he would have liked in this particular spell - mostly because it was too destructive for him. Thomas didn't like destruction. But... he did think he would do fine. The young wizard came to the front and it was his turn. He looked at the wooden blocks and took a deep breath as he closed off anything else besides himself and the wooden blocks he needed to destroy. He raised his wand, spoke clearly and with near robotic motion - cast the spell and the wooden blocks shattered. It took him a second to realize he was successful and that was only because Wendy tapped his shoulder and gave him a thumbs up and he turned away.

Before they had to give a Protego charm a shot, Wendy and Thomas were talking. They agreed to partner up again and to use the 'Experlliarmus' spell on each other. It was their safest bet. They managed to raise their respective shields when it was their turn and both spells bounced off harmlessly. Wendy whooped and Thomas grinned at her. The two went off to their other Pukwudgie friends who were nervous for the next part of their test. And Thomas didn't show it but he felt worse.

Thomas was unsure about the Patronus Charm. With his mind swirling further and further into itself as he waited to the side. Everything began to buzz and the talking of his friends began to slowly lose meaning until it became white noise. The Cheering Charm from earlier did not really do much to hide the events of yesterday. Thomas wasn't sure how everyone seemed so cheery. He could force a smile. He could force a wave. He could force a spell.

But can I fake the Patronus charm?

He could barely feel Wendy's hand on his as she led him to the line - excitedly talking about how she would show off her skills even though Thomas couldn't remember when she had cast a corporeal Patronus. Thomas couldn't remember the time he could make a corporeal Patronus. Could he even do it? Will he fail Charms because of this? Thomas wanted to scream. To scream. To tell the world that he couldn't do it. That it was unfair because he just saw his friend die. He saw his friends get hurt. He saw his parents die. How can you think of a happy memory after that?

But he smiled and nodded at Wendy.

Ms. Reimi once told him that he could still be happy. He had a new mother even if Ms. Reimi still wasn't sure how to be a mother. He had friends even if they didn't know what had happened to him. He could still be happy. Don't you grin proudly whenever Professor Carnerius tells you that you do a good job in Transfiguration? Don't you laugh when your friends tell you a stupid joke? Don't you smile at yourself when you see your friends happy too? You don't have to forget. But you can still be happy. Grin. Laugh. Joke.

"Expecto Patronum!"

Thomas had held his breath and opened one eye - he hadn't even noticed he closed them - and saw it flying - a large bird was soaring around the room and he could hear the whispers from the others. He looked at it and finally realized that it was a bearded vulture - one of his most favorite avians. He was surprised, and he now noticed the grin on his face. Everything seemed clearer. He was dismissed and he left, looking down at his wand fondly as if that was the reason for his success. He didn't talk with anyone for a while, lost in his thoughts but not lamenting.

When Dean arrived at the classroom he saw that the first years were seated on one side of the room and second years were seated on the other and they were all waiting for him. Dean trying not to waste any time made his way to the front desk which contained the test papers and waved his wand and allowed the tests to find their students. As this happened Dean went over the rules “First years will have 45 minutes to complete the written portion of this test and will then have 15 minutes to perform the first year levitating charm which you will have 3 attempts to accomplish, as for the 2nd years you will have the full hour for the written portion and will have your hands- on portion tomorrow with Professor Hicks, any attempt to cheat will cause your test to be terminated with no option to retake said test and now so that you have a full hour ...you may begin ...now” . Dean then flipped a large hourglass that had been sitting on the table over and sat down watching the students while also using this time to prepare for the basic career preparation segment of his evaluations but it didn’t take him long before he covered everything.

As Dean waited for the first years to finish the written portion of their exams he couldn’t help but think back on his first and second-year exams. Dean had always been exceptional in most of his courses at Ilvermorny but there were two courses that stood above the rest which were DADA and Charms. Through the years Dean had time after time excelled at his charms tests but at this time last year when it came time for the Charms portion of the JARVEYS he was reasonably nervous. Dean was sure he would do fine on the written portion and on all the charms except for the last and most difficult one, the Patronus charm.

During class, while Professor Hicks was teaching the Patronus charm, Dean was unable to cast the full charm during that session which wasn’t a huge surprise because most students were unable to but his friends expected him to be able to do it. Dean had then spent several hours a day in the dueling club room practicing the Patronus charm when the then 5th year DJ wasn't tearing it to shreds that is. People's opinions rarely bothered Dean but this was something people expected him to be good at which racked up the pressure. When it came time for Dean to cast his Patronus all eyes were on him and it didn't help that only a few students had gone before him and none have failed in fact his friend Curt had done his perfectly right before Dean though even though it was a hedgehog Luckily for Dean, he had figured out the main problem he was having casting the charm which was he wasn’t thinking of a happy enough memory. He tried many different memories which mostly consisted of his parents being proud of him but that wasn’t working and after some thought, Dean understood that this was because his parents always seemed to be proud of Dean no matter what he did and it never seemed as though it was based on any real achievement but simply for the fact that he was able to wave a wand and make magic come out. What was rarer, however, was them being proud or even respectful to his little sister Lyla. Lyla being a squib had never acquired magic and because of this was a disgrace to her parents. Their negative behavior went on for years but Dean made sure he would always stick up for his sister and his parents not wanting him to hate them eventually began to show slightly more positivity towards her, in fact, one day they even took Dean and her to a magical festival somewhere in southern Michigan where Lyla had a blast which was the first time Dean had seen his sister smile in ages. This he decided would be the memory he would use for his Patronus charm.

When it came time for Dean to cast his Patronus everyone gathered around and Dean being a master at hiding his emotions was able to shield his nervousness from everyone and tried to look as confident as he could and then he took a deep breath, thought of his memory and then shouted “Expecto Patronum!” A white glow emitted from the tip of his wand that then transformed into a white misty shape which then transformed into a Bloodhound. Dean heard some of the girls in the class say “Awe” which wasn’t exactly the response he was looking for but decided that it wasn’t the worst response and by the look on professor Hicks he could tell that he successfully passed the final phase of the charms JARVEY Exam.

Dean then noticed students had started to hand in their exams so Dean stood up from the desk and prepared to give the first-years their second phase of the exam.

Morri takes a deep breath, the bright yet pale whiting of the sky outside the window starting to shine through the corridor of the hospital wing. She felt a surge of bravery, and figured that now would be the ideal time to just spill while she had the full courage, otherwise she wasn't sure if she'd be able to get out every detail. And she knew they would require every minute detail in order to best determine the next course of action. Morri wanted to bad to just lay down and sleep or to just be up and doing something, anything really. She just wanted to try and use some outlet rather then be stuck in the infirmary spilling stories about some nightmare, but she knew she had to. And deep down, she wanted to. "I was... surrounded by darkness, but there was nothing but fire all around. As I walked... my clothes burned off but the fire wasn't burning me at all. I could feel the heat, the humidity. My voice echoed for miles and miles until someone called me. I followed the voice until I got to the end." Wilk leans in, engaged. "What did the voice sound like?" Morri shrugs. "It was a whisper, not even like a full voice, not even like a whisper... like an internal calling. A beckon. I followed it to the end... there was a tunnel of darkness, and at the end was a being. A figure. Dark and fluctuating as the world blew up behind them over and over again. Like all of time was compressed down into seconds. I asked who they were, and they just said I wasn't ready yet. If was a lucid dream so it felt real. It seemed so real. I was totally aware, like I wasn't dreaming."

"What else, Morri?" Headmaster Fontaine asks of her soothingly. He could see it in her eyes there was more. She sighs as she looks at her necklace and returns gaze towards them. "I asked if they were the ones that killed Ria... and they told me to see something..." Wilk leans back as if she was caught off guard, looking at Fontaine with sharpened eyes. She then looks back to Morri. "Morri... you don't think Ria's death was an accident or Suicide?" Morri shrugs, remaining quiet as the room went deathly void of noise. She onces over to Kat, and then looks back at the two in front of her. Fontaine almost gazed past her eyes into her soul, about a foot away from her face. "What did they tell you to see?" Morri returned the same look upon him. "They didn't tell me. They showed me. I saw the sky go dark, and loud thundering sounds, but also... I saw myself with black eyes." Headmaster Fontaine hid his deep anxiety and shock with a solemn face as he looked at Morri. It was the same thing. Only he and a few others knew... Ria's eyes that night. They too were...

Wilk extends a arm to Morri, rubbing her in comfort. "It was your subconscious' way of coping with Ria and everything. The dream is a powerful tool to reveal and project." Morri then directs her pierce to Wilk, breathing deeper as she tried to shake the nerves. "But they said Ria had the same dream, or at least a similar one. Nothing but darkness. Black. That's kind of like me... and what I felt." Wilk stands up, moving over to her side as she leaned against the wall. "It was just a dream. A vision perhaps even. You'd be surprised what magical feats happen when the mind goes through a journey such as yours. Ria's death was a tragedy, and you have no more to fear now. If there's anything remotely close to being more than what's been determined. I'll sniff it out, and I'll destroy it myself. Be it creature, offender, or concept. So please, you girls rest easy. You've done everything already. And I appreciate your cooperation." She then leans off the wall, walking towards the exit as Headmaster Fontaine's eyes seemed pained and also powered at the same time. He nods to the girls with a slight smile. "Rest. That's an order. I'm lifting the visitation provision on you two now, so your friends can spend time with you. We all need someone right now, whether we admit it or not."

They then take their leave, unknown to the girls they gaze each other down with extreme caution at the testimony they'd gathered from the two. Ria's experience, and now Kat and Morri's. It seemed that she Snakewood climb was meant for cheer, but how is it now that the feeling of a greater fate was at hand nonetheless? Almost as if things were happening on a string of fixed events. Ria's nightmare spell, now Morri's. Headmaster Fontaine would issue an order soon to keep watch on the girls while the hours progressed. He began to head back to his office to write the issue to a few Prefects. He would also take the time to write the immediate and effectual temporary discharge of one Professor Buchanan for his controversy at the Dining Hall and extreme insubordination towards the Headmaster himself. The letter would be sent to Buch's chambers effective immediately. Headmaster Fontaine walks the halls to hear the chants, grunts, and effects of students taking tests from mid-terms to JARVEYs. He also saw Auror Logg questioning faculty and teachers. The small team MACUSA sent were quick but very tactical and precise. It almost made him question his own accuracy in his investigation. Wilk however continued her expedition around the castle, gathering intel on passageways, portraits, history of spirits, and even questioning the Pukwudgie species that occupied the campus. A fire on her face from all that seen her walk the halls knew she was the epitome of absolution.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Surveillor Winchester watches the 6th Years perform their JARVEY's, a small smile on his face reminding him of his time in school. As Surveyor, he's supposed to keep a straight face the whole time, but as the masses of 6th years tested and performed their required duties he couldn't help but nod to them and be polite when they looked his way. These kids had been through hell the past week, it delighted him to see them cheerful even if it's from a charm. He'd specifically taken eye to an African-American student who seemed to stand out above the cut in her display of Charms. He made a mental note of her prowess. Dominque LeFleur was her name. He also saw a young man sort of reluctant to perform certain spells. Perhaps the week has played on his mind or maybe there was something he knew and was battling with. When Winchester finally got a glimpse of his face, he recognized the boy as Reimi's kid. Thompson? Torrence? Something of the sort. His Protego was adept as he expected from being Reimi's kid. It came time for Patronus Charms and he was one of the first up, Winchester leaning up in his seat in interest to see. The kid whisked a good spell, as a vulture briefly appeared to the impression of his peers. Summoning them was one thing, keeping the spell live and focused was another. Surveyor knew it'd be a few more hard months to a year of training before they got to that level.

Just then, the door cracked open as all 6th Years looked back and went silent with shock. Some smiled, some gaped, and some whispered to one another. But everyone was directing attention at a bold standing woman with crystal eyes and a fire expression. She looked over to Surveillor Winchester and nodded to him as he nods back, before looking at the swarm of students taking JARVEY's. Head Hicks smiles. "Wow! Auror Wilkinson. What an honor, what brings you in?" Wilk waves a hand in fault. "No no Mr. Hicks I'm the one that's indebted. I didn't mean to intrude in such an important affair. Also hello everyone, I'm Auror Chasity Wilkinson from the Magical Congress. Me and my partner here along with another are here to investigate the rough week you all have had. From the bottom of my spirit, I'm so sorry." The cheering charms started to fade at the reminder of the stark reality. "If I may Professor, I need to see Leo Fischer for a moment please. Won't take very long."

The entire student body all peered at Leo, the silence becoming loud as Wilk chuckles and assures everyone. "And no, he's not in any sort of trouble." She awaits Leo, and shakes his hand when he approaches and leads him outside the class just on the other side of the door. Her piercing sea inducing eyes looked into his, and she could tell he was a reserved soul. He seemed uncomfortable but she wouldn't make any judgements. The door opens again shortly after and Surveillor Winchester joins them outside class. "As I said Mr. Fischer, you aren't in trouble but I do need your complete honesty and cooperation. I've come to understand you're in possession of a shoe that belongs to Ria Pocomtuc?"

Now the Jarvey was coming to a close. The last section of the test was the most important to Dominique. She had been practicing the Patronus charm. So far she had been only able to produce a non-corporeal Patronus. While casting the charm itself was considered a impressive feat Dominique was in no way satisfied. The young witch watch as her fellow students cast the charm. Animals of all types could be seen, all of them a silvery blue in color and each looking as mystical as ever. Dominique suddenly had the feeling that someone was watching her, though she ignored it as she was sure that it was only a teacher or Auror. Though the thought of the latter watching her put her a little on edge. She shoved her feelings aside, she needed to focus.

When Dominique’s turn came she stepped forward. She readied her wand and thought of her happiest memory. Dominique though back to the time when she was a little girl and her mother telling her of their heritage and how powerful they were in the past. Dominique thought of her family and their family gatherings, of the Mardi Gras that they spent together and the celebrations of culture. Dominique opened her eyes, unaware that she had even closed them in the first place and smiled. Her voice was strong as she said the incantation. “Expecto Patronum!” Like the others a white light spouted from her wand. Dominique’s eyes widened as the light shifted and transformed into regal looking Black Stallion. Dominique was captivated by its magnificence. The stallion reared up and released what she believed to be a neighbor it were capable of making a sound. She believed that it matched her perfectly.

Dominique canceled the charm and nodded, satisfied that she’d managed to produce a corporeal Patronus. Dominique was pulled from her moment by the door opening. She stayed silent as Auror Wilkinson stepped inside, Dominique observed her. It seemed like she wouldn’t be able to do that favor for Morri. Though Dominique was sure that they had taken Leo because of that so she figured that it would be fine.

Leo Fischer
"Deprimo," Leo recited, watching as the wood bowed inward before exploding to the sides. He smiled. Maybe some Charms practice had been what he'd needed to try and recover from the past week, although perhaps the students more invested in the exam weren't as relaxed. He returned to the line, tension draining from his shoulders as he waited for the remaining students to finish before everyone split into pairs.

Leo partnered up with a fellow Thunderbird, the two of the speaking briefly to determine what spells they'd cast before moving a few yards apart. Leo defended first, his eyes focused on his 'attacker's' wand. There were a few seconds stillness before his partner moved. At the first wisps of magic, Leo raised his wand, waiting until the spell was spoken to cast his shield. The magic hit his shield just slightly off-center and Leo watched as the spell whizzed back to his partner, passing right by the boy's head before it dissipated into the air. His partner's eyes had widened and Leo waited until he returned his attention back to their test. When the boy refocused, Leo lifted his wand in warning, waiting for a nod of assent before he sent an Immobulus charm towards him. The spell was deflected and the two simply nodded to each other before rejoining the line.

Leo waited quietly, his thoughts drifting through memories, even as he already knew what memory he would use to cast his spell. His emotions shifted between content and somber as he recalled the many happy memories that had been tainted by the arrival of Obliviators in his life. He was only half paying attention to each Patronus that was cast, but the main door creaking open -and the powerful aura that came with it- pulled Leo from his mind.

All eyes turned towards the figure. The woman exuded strength and skill, even while simply standing at the room's entrance. It wasn't hard to guess that the woman was one of the wizards sent by MACUSA. Professor Hicks' words only confirmed it, the word 'Auror' weaving into the whispers already being passed around the room. Leo only started, careful not to show any displeasure on his face as he tried to tune out whatever they were saying. He wanted to keep his focus, to be able to cast the Patronus he knew he was capable of, and an Auror around certainly wouldn't help.

With his thoughts forcefully made to wander, the sound of his name startled him. His eyes locked on to the woman, Auror Wilkinson, and he hesitated just slightly before he made his way towards her. Leo shook her hand stiffly and then followed her into the hall, the door thumping shut behind him. He studied the Auror, eyes narrowed as he tried to think of a reason she'd want to speak with him. He didn't get much time to contemplate before the man, the one who had been observing their test, stepped out from the room behind them. Leo suddenly felt a lot more trapped, and he couldn't keep himself from tensing, at least not enough that either of them wouldn't notice -they were extraordinarily capable, after all, loathe as Leo was to admit it. The most Leo could do was keep the distaste from his face and hope they just assumed he was stressed.

He took a longer to process the Auror's words than he would have liked, but he was splitting his attention between them and his surroundings. A shoe... The shoe! Leo quickly weighed his options. He could cooperate, except he didn't want to help MACUSA. He could antagonize them, say he didn't know what they were talking about, but they clearly already knew he had it, and that would only draw attention to himself. He decided to compromise and answer whatever questions they had without offering up any additional information.

"I am," Leo answered carefully, but the Auror was clearly expecting more. "It's in my room. By the bed. Is that all?" He asked. "I really need to get back to the test." Ok, maybe he didn't really care about the test, but they didn't need to know that. He just wanted to end the conversation as fast as possible.

Katalina

Mentions:
Wilkinson, Fontaine, Morri

Having watched Wilk get closer to her Kat quickly shut her eyes. Going pale as a ghost Kat felt her heart plummet the second she felt Wilk's hand on her shoulder. However, within a moment the spell was active and Kat felt it pierce into her mind. The feeling uncomfortable yet not painful. The memories and mental hurdles Kat had experienced over the last while streamed directly to Wilk. Going through the motions she felt when Ria first spoke to her on the tree Kat began to tear up. The feelings washed over her making her tense up but more tears began to flow. After a few moments she feels Wilk withdraw, but also felt the last thing she was able to gain. Sniffling a few times Kat rubbed her eyes before looking at Morri. Morri knew what they found out almost immediately. Kat felt horrible for putting her into this position... would Morri have said anything if Wilk didn't go into her mind?

With Nurse Chambers coming over and telling Kat about the Anti-Bruise cream the blonde girl let the nurse apply it. The feeling made Kat wince and the cold almost made her recoil, but she knew she had to deal with it. Once it was applied Kat sniffled and shifted where she was sitting. Hearing Morri say the dream was just that... a dream made Kat want to say otherwise. But, she wouldn't put her friend out there... but she already did, didn't she? She didn't mean to and it was then that she couldn't look Morri in the eyes. Kat felt Morri's torturous emotional battle and it made her want to cry. She hated feeling her friend suffer or hurt on the inside. Though Kat knew it was something that had to be worked through. She just wished it wasn't her that spilled the beans. Morri should have had the ability to come out with that when she was ready.

Looking to the Peace shot Kat stared for a few moments. Thinking on the positives and negatives of the potion she came to a quick decision. Taking a tablespoon into her mouth she quickly swallowed before gagging. She almost spit it up but managed to keep it down without showing much of any reaction externally. She knew she just had to keep it down long enough to activate and the rest would take care of itself. Focusing internally she snapped back when Morri spoke of her eyes. Out of everything that was said, that for some reason stuck with Kat more than anything else. Feeling the effects of the potion starting to take effect Kat felt her body relax significantly.

Eyes feeling a little heavy, she watched Wilk and Fontaine take their leave. Laying back on the bed she felt her tense muscles finally relax, and the pain thats been bugging her in her back seemed to disappear immediately. Letting her head roll to the side she stared at Morri for a few moments. The silence didn't feel awkward. After everything, they knew they didn't need to speak to convey how they felt to one another. Relishing in the feeling of relaxation for a change Kat began to quietly sing, her voice barely airy anymore. It was something that she knew would help... maybe even make them feel better.. more brave.

"In an age of darkness light appears
And it wards away the ancient fears
March to the anthem of the heart
To a brand new day, a brand new start

To wonder lands of ice and snow
In the desert heat where nothing grows
A tree of life in rain and sun
To reach the sky it's just begun

And as we came into the clear
To find ourselves where we are here
Who is the wiser to help us steer
And will we know when the end is near.

A beauty lives in every soul
The more you love the more you know
They pass the torch and it still burns
Once children then it’s now our turn."

Thomas had still been star struck with the surprise that he was able to cast a patronus while the other students were going up. He could barely register who casted what and his ability to think just stopped. Like, full stop. His mind just dwelled on the silvery wisp of a vulture that he had managed to summon. Even if it had only stayed for a few seconds, the mere fact that it was corporeal had been enough to make him stop. But... he wondered if he would be able to do it again. He wasn't sure if he could conjure up happy memories in the face of dementors. He wasn't sure if he could conjure up happy memories if he was alone.

Thomas looked up from his position of waiting when the door creaked open. In came Auror Wilkinson in all her glory and Professor Hicks was sure to jump onto talking with her. Thomas quickly ducked his head in greeting to the woman he had been introduced to earlier. His eyes lingered on her for a while - and not because she was talking. He was well aware why they were here. It was painfully obvious. No, his eyes lingered on her because she was searching for anything that might give away what had happened with Morri and Kat while she was talking to them. But, as expected, she didn't look the least bit shaken. Maybe he could ask Morri later about it, but something told him that he'd be overstepping his boundaries if he did that. He began to play with his wand again and he nearly let go of it when Leo was called out.

Neither Thomas nor Dominique had talked to the guy before since they were all too focused with their JARVEY's. He pursed his lips and shoved his wand back into his pocket and began to walk towards Dominique just as Leo started making his way to the auror. "Hey Dominique." He said once he had reached the girl who was gazing at the scene just like most of the student body. "Looks like we were too late huh?" He said, a stutter threatening to bubble up to his throat but he had managed to hold it down. "I hope he doesn't get in trouble..." Thomas continued in a low voice, obviously feeling a little guilty.

Direct -> Leo (Interview)
Mentions -> Winchester, Auror Logg, Kat, Morri, Buchanan

2-17%20dottie-thumb-500x240-149366.gif

Wilk stands over the 6th year boy who seemed a bit shifty in his reproach and demeanor. He was being very brief and short, yet also somewhat dejective of Wilk's wants. He did supply her with the exact answer she needed, but it seemed as if he was uninterested in providing anymore resource to the Auror. She puckers her lips in sympathy for Leo, she understood completely. A kid in a situation like that, let alone feeling isolated among a sea of students in trying to move past it. Using empathy she grasped the source of his behavior, yet and still her eyes remained pierced onto Leo, the winds from the outside pushing into the castle halls with a slight breeze. She looked over to the Surveillor, with him nodding a small nudge in her direction in some sort of unspoken dialect. Winchester had seen that Leo was the most quiet among the 6th years in the examination, and his mannerisms had seemed to be that of someone who wanted to be invisible, or at least remain indolent to something. Surveyor Winchester was trained by MACUSA to detect and process even the most microscopic of details about anything. He could literally turn a molehill into a mountain, all he needed was information. Wilk then looks back at Leo, her hands delicately moving behind her back. "Mr. Fischer, the sooner you tell us what you saw, the sooner you can go back to your JARVEY's, if I'm not mistaken you guys were on the Patronus Charm right? Sigh... those were the days.." Wilk takes out her notepad, the former notes of her encounter with Kat and Morri on its pages as she flips to a fresh one. "I need you to tell me everything about the night of the Thunderbird Tower incident. Then the week leading up to the Snakewood Incident. Mr. Fischer, I need to remind you that any little thing you decide to tell me or leave out, may make an imperative difference in the end for this school, and even the sanctity of those who have suffered along with you. Like Katalina and Morri. Really think about that before you open your mouth."

Her tone had become stern and engaging, her icy eyes never taking gaze from Leo's. Surveillor Winchester made a few notes himself, showing Wilk what he'd observed from Leo in the class. Leo wouldn't see, but the terms Isolated, Dejective, Insecure, Repressing all came up. Wilk then sharpened her face as Leo would tell her the details of his recollection of the events prior. She wrote down the details and everything he was providing her, also looking at him with a look that suggested she'd know if his information was bullcrap. You don't become an Auror without being able to tell light from dark. After he was finished, she relented her gaze and offered a light smile and a handshake. "Thank you, Leopold. You're free to go. Please, by all means enjoy your day as much as one possibly could given the events. I trust you'll do your best on JARVEY's." After Leo returned inside, Winchester leaned in close. "What do you think?" Wilk watches the boy enter. "He's anxious. I want you to keep an eye out for him."

Just then, the slam of a door somewhere from the inner halls of the campus had caused the officials to snap their heads in the direction of the noise. Wilk stood bold as Winchester seemed attentive. The rushing padder of feet echoed closer to the two as soon a distinct form of a man seemed to move hasted through the halls of Ilvermorny. His pressed and silver suit screamed refinement as his cordial loafers walked with precision on against the floor. He had a briefcase in hand, as well as another pouch of belongings as a very unkempt contempt struck his face. The man looked at Wilk and Surveyor Winchester with a brief gaze, and in those few seconds his eyes softened immediately when he looking into the crystal blue eyes of Wilk, knowing who she was immediately. Yet conversely... Wilk looked back into his with a mild intrigue. A sense of washing familiarity had come over her. She knew she hadn't knew him personally but recognized him as the Head of Horned Serpents, Petyr Buchanan. It was the sense of feeling that was familiar to her, as if his aura had been encountered by her before. They watch each other for a small moment as he heads towards the front hall of Ilvermorny, storming out of the castle in a passive rage. That must've been the man Headmaster Fontaine referred to as suspended for some controversy. Just when Wilk thought to question him before he became a missing witness, Auror Logg comes from his same direction, a small wince on his face followed by a humorous shrug. "Of course I'd be the one to be assigned to investigating faculty only to still have them banter like children. So, that was Head Buchanan. I was in the middle of questioning him when he got his letter of suspension. That... was an interesting experience. He went on and on about how he loves the kids more than anything, that the Headmaster is and I quote 'A refraction of truth and underlying hope when it comes to the sake of the well-being of Ilvermorny' And he also told me if I wanted the truth, ask those who were in the tower, aside from The Headmaster. Like he was implying something. Other than that his story checks out, he was flying over Mt. Greylock for his morning soar as an Animagus when he landed in his corridor and spoke to Head Goldstein and A Professor DeForrest about the recent events, heard about some commotion at the Snakewood Tree, went down to investigate and talked to a Morri Skopos? Then from there you know.. the girl... he seemed very insistent on making sure that Morri girl and her roommate were kept safe at all times, for them not to be harmed or troubled. Talk about House Pride."

secretagent2.png

Wilk then looks over he shoulder, walking to a window which looked out into the splendor of the vibrant Autumn of Mt. Greylock. She could see Buchanan taking his leave of absence, the swirling wind rustling the yellow, red, and orange leaves around him. For some reason he stopped, and looked back at the school in a hard stare of animosity yet also it seemed remorse. Then, his eyes shifted over to the west hall window, over a reach and into the corridor where Wilk was standing. Buch's eyes seemed concerned, as the Auror looked back at him in mysterious curiosity. He seemed... off. But she was sure from his eyes he felt the same about her and her MACUSA team. Auror Logg then came up yet again to break Wilk's peer. "I'm going to question DeForrest after I finish with the rest of the Heads. Maybe you could follow up on Morri?" Wilk continues to stare from the window as she answered. "Already have. It checks out with what she told me. Push up on the leads and we'll reconvene after students are done with exams. Anyone who insults Gil's character is someone in need of a judgement check. Jonathan, when you get time... see what you can give me about Head Buchanan." Logg & Winchester nods as the three split and move their separate ways, with Winchester moving back into JARVEY's to scope the remaining students and pick up more passive intel.

Logg walks down the hall, the winds picking up just slightly as he pushed his attention towards the vastness of Greylock with the morning crisply calling out to nature. Something catches his peripheral as almost like a waving or passing motion of energy. Logg wipes his eyes casually as he looks back out into the fray of Mt. Greylock. There was nothing but beauty. He sighs to himself and continues on with his duties.

Dominique turned her when she heard her name. She placed her wand in its holster and crossed her arms over her chest. Dominique looked at Thomas intently. She could see that he was upset about not carrying out Morri’s request. “It’s hardly our fault, they snatched him as soon as we were done. That wasn’t really much that we could do.” She shrugged her shoulders. Dominique didn’t really care if Leo were to get into trouble as they were strangers. “Who knows, we’ll have to wait and listen for any news. Word travels fast in this school.” She looked back to see Leo and the Auror leaving he room. “Who knows, maybe we can still pass on the message to him when he returns.” Dominique wasn't exactly comforting with her words, not that she was trying to be in the first place.

“You were there during the incident right? I’m sure that they’ll be taking you away next if you were.” Dominique said thoughtfully. From what she saw so far she didn’t think it’d be best to ask for a detailed description from Thomas if he’d been there. Dominique thought of him as the sensitive type and normally that wouldn’t be a problem, but they were being watched by too many authoritative figures. Dominique would rather not have them focus on her because she upset someone. “Let’s move on to something more pleasant, are you going to the Twin Ball? With so much tension and angst lately, it’ll be like a breath of fresh air right?”

Leo Fischer
Leo flattened his mouth, listening to the Auror's words in silence. At first he tried to keep the contemplation from his face, but they'd clearly already realized more about him than he'd wanted, even if he didn't know how much more. He kept quiet for a few more seconds while he decided exactly what he would say. "I was awake when I heard the scream. I was in the common room. I was one of the first people to reach Ria's door, but I also left faster than the others." He'd left to hide his change from other students, the uncertainty overwhelming him, though he'd been coherent enough to know he needed to flee.

"Ria was freaking out. Screaming, crying, not really in control of herself. She was talking about darkness. I watched for a while, but once the Headmaster got there I couldn't watch anymore." He didn't tell them about what he knew had happened after he'd left. The black eyes and everything else Sabrina had told him. He hadn't seen it and so technically they hadn't asked about it, at least that's how he justified it. They could find out from other students anyway.

"The week was quiet. There were whispers everywhere you went, but everyone was, is, unsure of themselves. Thunderbird Tower was the worst. We didn't even start to perk back up until we heard about the tree. We all knew it was a distraction, but we didn't care.

"I got there right before the climb started. Morri cast Fumos and then we just waited. It was a little while later when the shoe fell. At first we though it was Katalina's, but Morri said it wasn't. Then Professor Buchanan came out and Morri gave me the shoe to hide. We didn't know whose it was until we saw..." Leo stopped. Even though it had barely been a day, JARVEYs had distracted him more than he'd realized. Now the emotions were coming back. "Until we saw Ria falling, Katalina too. Morri tried to slow them both, but Ria cancelled her spell. Except..." Leo thought about his next words, whether it was really something he wanted to tell MACUSA. He bit his lip and kept quiet for a moment. Auror Wilkinson had raised a brow and the look she was giving him made Leo want to stop out of spite. They remaining in complete silence until Leo decided what to say. He settled on giving them more information than he'd set out to. Maybe not anything they couldn't figure out, but what they did with the information, if they told the students any of the conclusions they came to after these interviews, would determine how much Leo would trust these particular Congress employees. "... It wasn't Ria. Not really. Whatever happened over the week had changed her. I wasn't that close to her, and I didn't visit her in the infirmary, but you could tell. Ria was gone before she hit the ground, not after. And look, everyone who saw her that night knows that something's out there. We know that she didn't just break, and keeping it from us, lying to us, doesn't help anything."

Leo finished and looked at the Auror, unsure of how the woman would react at his words. Finally, her expression softened, just slight, and she offered him her hand. Leo took it, wary at how quickly she brushed passed the information and he wondered if he'd made a mistake offering up what little he had. When he withdrew his hand, he turned, glancing briefly towards the Surveillor before he pushed back into the room and rejoined the short line. He waited until just two people were before him to close his eyes to concentrate. He pushed the conversation from his mind, with a promise to scrutinize it later, as he focused on his happiest memory.

He went back to his childhood, to a night spent with his parents, the trio laying in their backyard with a blanket under them and the stars above. Leo had been clutching a lion plushie -the symbolism of his nickname something his father loved to exploit- dressed in pajamas and staring at the stars. His mother lifted a hand, finger pointing towards a cluster of nine stars. "You see that, Leo? That's a lion." Leo had turned and given her an incredulous look. "I know, I know, it doesn't really look like it right now, but I promise it is. You know its name?" Leo shook his head. "Its name is Leo, just like yours. That constellation-"

"What's a constellation?" Leo had asked.

"It's a group of stars." His mother smiled at him and resumed. "That constellation is one of the oldest in the sky. Almost everyone, ever, in the world knows about it. And maybe it looks a little funny, but everyone knows it's great. One day, Leo, you'll be like that lion. Whatever you do, however you help the world, you'll be as great as that lion. Great enough to deserve your own lion in the sky."

The words came before Leo even called them. "Expecto Patronum!"

Wisps of magic burst from Leo's wand, moving in waves before joining as one form. A large Black Bear stood in the center of the room. Leo had been controlling his emotions for years before he came to Ilvermorny, and that had benefited his control of magic, especially in regards to his patronus. The bear shimmered, but Leo held the spell and the creature remained, surveying the room. Eventually, the spell returned to its wispy form before finally vanishing into the air. Leo smiled again, this time not of pride of relief or anything else. He was simply happy. Leo had lost himself in the spell. It couldn't have been more than a minute, though Leo doubted it had been even half of that, but casting a patronus always brought comfort to Leo. Perhaps that was why he was able to hold it as long as he did; his patronus reminded him that he wouldn't ever be truly alone, no matter how much he secluded himself.

Thomas nodded at her as she consoled him. He knew that Dominique was right. It wasn't like they could suddenly just pull Leo out of the way when they were finishing up their exams. Besides, that would put an unfair burden on Leo since he'd be thinking about it while they were doing their exams and Thomas didn't want him to be too distracted. "It is a small school." He commented though it didn't seem like he thought of actually responding and the words just came out of his mouth. He looked away for a moment and cleared his throat to take away the attention from his comment and then nodded again. "I guess we can. But... I think he would have been honest about what he has." There were certain things you really couldn't do with the magical police. One of them was lying since some of them were probably a Legilemens and would read your brain if they thought you were suspicious and hiding something.

He flinched at the indication that he might be next seeing as his involvement in the incident was just as much as Leo - if not more. "Yeah... probably." He said in a hushed tone. While he already knew that he was going to be taken in for questioning, the thought that the time was getting near only made him more nervous. He knew that Miss Wilkinson was a relatively nice woman. She wasn't very scary when she doesn't want to be. Thomas had seen her before and she was really nice earlier! But the thought of being interrogated is what makes him nervous and jittery. It wasn't the person. It was the action. "I just hope it doesn't take too long." He continued his thought. Whether it was because he would run out of time for practical tests or because he didn't like being questioned for an elongated amount of time, Thomas wasn't sure himself. He just really hoped that nothing would become of it.

Thomas smiled at the reminder of the dance that was coming. "I am!" He replied cheerily. "I think it'll really help with the mood. I have some friends over at Salem Institute that I sometimes write to. It'll be fun to see them again." Thomas continued, a grin slowly coming to his face as the earlier conversation was filed into a cabinet to be opened again at a later time. He rubbed the back of his head as he turned his gaze towards Leo who had come back and was now up for the Patronus charm. He had a large bear as his patronus and he found that really cute. Even big scary animals like bears need their fair share of love "I did want to ask somebody but they already have a date. I'll probably be going with friends as always." He gave a shrug. He was happy that they're going to be there for each other even through this harsh time. It was a really strong bond of friendship that Thomas truly admired. He turned to Dominique. "How about you? Any plans?" He asked in a truly curious tone.

Juxtaposed Assessments for Reviewing Versatile Experienced Youth

Transfiguration:

-> Head Carnerius
-> MACUSA
-> Students Excluding Kat and Morri

As the halls and corridors begin to swarm and fill with adolescents and young adults, the noise of the usually quiet fray begin to become replaced with the chatter and small murmurs of the various students. The younger years all hopped about in a frantic innocence towards their next exams, still brazen with zest and an almost mild ignorance to the totality of events that have occurred of late. The pale white skies above Mt. Greylock gleam through the windows, as old yet refined and luxurious portraits watched the students move to and fro their journeys and individual destinations in life as well as the campus. They'd seen a many things over time, being etched into the school's history almost much so as the Pukwudgies who also roam and assist throughout the castle of Ilvermorny. The sleek stone walls soon echo the whispers and voices of the students off of them, which was the perfect source for not only surveillance, but information. It was no surprise that when the students would be in transition from their paths to their classes, they'd lock onto the sight of Auror Wilkinson chatting to the pictures, quite literally a picturesque scene to behold. None dared bother her or even think to speak, as the typical rout of gossip had surely spread through Ilvermorny like wildfire.

I heard she had a staredown with a Nundu, and it was the one that ran from HER...
That's nothing, I heard she fought off TWO Lethifolds while searching for a hostage.
Oh, really? I heard she was even stronger than the Headmaster..
HAH! You're all wrong, I heard she once played Wizard Roulette with a Manticore... word has it that Manticore still has nightmares of Wilkinson to this day...

Wilk gathered intel with the portraits as her crystalline blue eyes would pierce into the occasional on-goer, with them sharply averting gaze as if she was some sort of gorgon. Wilk sighed under her breath, she understood coming in with such a fierce reputation would have its effects, she was still very much a witch with a heart like the rest of them. She saw the bunch of 6th years, moving towards their next JARVEY's. Her eyes locked in on them specifically, as they were the most salient to the tragedies having an effect on their academic performance. She'd managed to place eyes on one boy who she'd seen in the hospital wing once before. Thomas, he was Reimi's boy. She'd deliver a slight nod to the lad as they moved onward. The only other group that would be key would be the 7th years. Which would be her next venture after the portraits. Ria's roommate Sabrina Andrews, and perhaps the Head Boy & Girl, along with more prefects of the Thunderbird House. Wilk would piece it all together when the time was right, for now it was about keeping everything secure and giving the students a bit of peace in these times.

To the 6th years moving onward to their next endeavor of JARVEY's, they'd move in to see Auror Logg investigating and questioning Head Carnerius. But, it was unlike the demeanor that he'd had with the other professors up until that point. His behavior was lighter, more fun and engaging. Would might assume he was flirting. He'd always looked so smug, so it was shocking for even Marcy to see him this way, but she'd known him from her time in MACUSA when she was an active Auror. Most of the students and even staff oft forget that Head Carnerius was an inactive high ranking Auror, it was only fitting seeing as her bloodline hails from the great famed M.P. Carnerius, former captain of Aurors in MACUSA's Hay-Day.

Logg: "So, that night of the Thunderbird incident, you heard the booms with the rest of the campus, moved up to investigate right? That's when you saw Ria? You said she seemed terrified, and the window to their room was shattered? Then, after the Thunderbird students were evacuated, you joined with the other Heads right? You saw the small cut from where she tried to cut her wrist? And then... the moment right? The moment where their eyes went dark and the room almost tore apart... Marcy you know that type of magic is forbidden on school grounds, I think we're dealing with an outside force here, perhaps a magical beast."

Head Carnerius: "I don't know Terrence. Ria did something to Agilbert, not permanent but enough to have him disoriented for a moment. Their eyes went dark. It was like they were sharing some dark thing... like a shared experience, but not like Legilimency or anything. Even when I was active, I'd never heard of a force that could rip apart a room and make a girl lose sanity... let alone imbue dark magic. That's literally unheard of. Only the Heads and Headmaster know. The rest of the faculty and students need to be protected until we get a solid idea on what we're dealing with. We've put faculty and even the Pukwudgies on 24 hour rotation shifts to monitor the campus. But even that didn't stop yesterday morning... I was in my office finalizing JARVEY plans when I heard the screams. By the time I got there... yeah..."

Auror Logg lowers his head in remorse as he hated this part of the job. Getting to the bottom of a suicide that very well may be something darker at play. And Marcy, he knew she knew the rigors of being an Auror past the popularity of being the best wizards and knowing the best spells. He knew that she knew the tumultous stress and burden that came with it. When Marcy was active she was one of the best in the world, period. Probably more so if not equal to Wilk, but that had always came with a price, a price that some people can't pay after a long time. He understood why she got out. His hand gradually moved closer to hers, a faint touch along the finely crafted desk, as the sound of imminent doors opening for the incoming 6th years impeded them, with Logg shaking her hand and leaving. "Thank you for your cooperation, Head Carnerius." Auror Logg walks briskly past the students as he makes his way on to the next phase of investigation.

Head Carnerius welcomes the students in. "Good day guys, who's ready to Transfigure!? Everything will be fine if you remember to stay focused and honed. If you think you're going to ease your way by this with some flicks and casting you'll surely fail. This is about mental notion, not physical.
  1. You'll have your written part of the assessment, but then we will cover all Four Branches of Transfiguration. How? You'll see. Listen to my instructions very carefully.
  2. After the written portion, you are to then stand up, select any object in this room and cast the Avifors spell. Those who are still on the written will just have to concentrate as more birds fill the room.
  3. Then, as a class you will be tasked with not only catching all these birds, but using an Untransfiguration spell of your choice to turn them back one by one.
  4. Once that is complete, you will then be tasked with a Switching spell of your choice to a partner you so choose. Please be safe and tactful when casting these as you will be graded on efficiency.
  5. The last phase will feature the two hardest branches, as you each will cast Evanesco on any particular object you wish... but here's the catch. You are to use the final branch of any Conjuration spell of your choosing, but by the time everyone is finished, the room must be accounted for in the exact fashion it is in right now. The more the room has been deviated from its original state in the end, the lower grade cap for everyone. Fun little challenge right!?"

Head Carnerius claps her hands as she could hear the groans of a few students, but there were some who loved Transfiguration and was up tot he task. Her eyes particularly landed on Thomas, who was fascinated with the subject and sought to be under discipline of Carnerius. Seeing as how she was his House Head AND favorite subject's teacher... AND the fact she used to work with his mother over at MACUSA... she was expecting a lot from him. She sat extremely comfortable on her desk, even eating an apple as she looked at the hourglass to her right with a swift flick of her wand, the hourglass jumps and flips over as the time officially starts. A silent creak of the door from the back of the room echoes as Surveillor Winchester slides in with a respectful nod to Macry, as she nods to him, the crisp crunch of her apple invading the space as the kids prepare for their next JARVEY phase.

Thomas went off with the rest of his batch towards the next exam. Transfiguration. And to say that Thomas was excited was an understatement. The usually nervous boy seemed more like he was having fun than being kicked down by nerves. No, no, of course not! This was Thomas Holleyway-Holiday - the boy who wanted to be part of the Transfiguration Club at the ripe year of his first. This was the boy who took book after book in Reimi's library about Transfiguration to hope to study for it so once he got his wand, he could be able to do it. This was the boy who was consistently on the top of the class - or at least close to it - whenever Transfiguration was involved. Thomas enjoyed Transfiguration so much that one would wonder why he didn't dream of becoming a teacher for it. Thomas loved it too much to even think of studying for it and taking an exam was something stressful or a hassle.

So yes, when Thomas entered the room, he was excited to start. Thomas listened intently to their instructions and he did feel a bit of nervousness. That was completely different from the Charms exam from earlier. Perhaps you could say that this was pure application. It was strategy instead of just being successful in just that one thing. And he didn't expect anything less from Head Carnerius. In fact, when her eyes landed on him, he beamed at her. Admittedly, he was scared that he might actually fall a bit behind on his promise to the Headmaster. He was actually looking forward to the pizza. But hey, this was also a class effort. He hoped everyone would do good too! They would all pass together!

Once the papers were distributed, Thomas already got cracking down on his. The answers just flooded down from his brain to his paper. It was like he was a kid again as he went with Ms. Reimi to get some books from the library and watching her do the spells for him. It was like when he was a teen, scribbling the notes of his latest Transfiguration journey onto his notebook to practice on his own time. These questions were things he had read about, practiced and figured out on his own with some consultation. Before he knew it, he was finished. He swished his wand and the paper flew over to Head Carnerius' desk and he nodded at her before looking around to see that most weren't done yet. He was practically the third to finish. Thomas, nevertheless, pointed his wand at his own inkwell. "Avifors." The inkwell turned into a flock of birds - there were three of them - in a bright flash of blue and the birds began to fly above their heads - mingling with the other transfigured birds. He waited for the others to finish so that they could get to the third step.

Morri was feeling the emotional fallout of her spew to Auror Wilk about her nightmare, and the actual nightmare itself. She tried her best to pretend that things were fine and dandy, but they were far from. The girl may very well have just went through a terror on par with Ria, and the fact she was still dealing with a grisly event that hit Ilvermorny had her in a reeling place. She'd simply stood quiet for a while, still affected by the solutions provided by Nurse Chambers. Katalina sung a song with a beautiful melody that soothed and relaxed Morri. It was a warm feeling Morri enjoyed even in their dorm. Kat always was pleasant to listen to. She sat up, criss cross legged on her bed, her wand still lying on her tray untouched since yesterday. She was glad Katalina was talking again, she knew the girl had been battered and bruised up pretty bad. Nurse Chambers was a beast at her scheme of recovery for Morri's roommate. A no-maj approach would've taken months and months for Kat to even get to 100%, and here she was almost legible enough to be considered physically functional without the need of medical support. Morri sighs as she figured it wouldn't do anyone good to be sulky and repressed. It sure didn't work for Ria, though her recourse was understandable. She lurches up on the edge of the bed, Nurse Chambers looking a bit relieved that the girl was deciding not to lay in bed all day, even thought she wasn't cleared with leaving the infirmary yet. "That was a big leap for you... giving Wilkinson your memories like that."

Morri releases a singular chuckle, looking and fiddling with her hands as a look of sympathy struck her face. "I get it though. Anything to help. To think we have a dance coming this weekend on top of all this shit--" Nurse Chambers peers her icy eyes up to the conversation held between Kat and Morri, as Morri changes her dialogue. "...stuff. So, what's the theme this year? Good cop bad cop? Wonder Twins? Maybe we can gather a squad, be a team of Maj version of Disney princesses. That would be badass... er I mean cool. Then again, I'm sure the girls from Salem is going to snatch up every guy they can get their hands on. We see them everyday so it's like we're tired of seeing them, but they on the other hand haven't seen a proper wizard all year, they'll be little hornballs..." Nurse Chambers comes over with some water and some croissants with butter for the two girls, a stern look as she shook her head. "If hormones are your judging factor for deciding how to approach the Twin Academy Dance, I'm highly baffled Ms. Skopos." Morri pucks her lips and refutes the nurse's assumptions. "No Nurse Chambers, I'm just saying it's going to be hard for.... some girls to get a matching date. Sure we got first dibs because we can ask them now, but most girls here are too shy or too insecure to ask... where as Salem Institute...." Nurse Chambers nods, understanding the proverbial underlier Morri was getting at. "Ah, yes. They're more... let's say Assertive towards their wants? I remember when I was a witch at Salem, every year I'd look forward to just..." Morri's eyes went wide with awe, the look of nostalgia and reminiscing on her face. Was she really about to go where Morri thought she was going!? In a realization that Nurse Chambers was letting her guard down, she snapped back and cleared her throat as she stormed away awkwardly, only to be stopped at the sight of a girl. But not just any girl. Sabrina Andrews. She looks at the two girls in a silent nod, before speaking to Nurse Chambers. "I was wondering could I have a small dose of Peace Shot?" Chambers heard about her outburst in the Dining Hall, but she also knew the girl lost her roommate and best friend. She was in pain, the worst kind. Spiritual pain. "Sure, one moment."

With arms crossed, and a rather passive demeanor, Sabrina slowly approaches the two girls. Morri spoke up first. "Hey Sabrina. How are you?" Sabrina shrugs with an indifference, moving closer to them. "Eh. How about you two? Feeling any better?" Morri pretty much had the same response. "Yeah, Eh describes it best hah. I'm sorry I couldn't.. I-- I mean I tried to--" Sabrina stopped Morri in her tracks. "Don't even. None of this is on you. It's on Agilbert Fontaine." The Headmaster? How? He was the one who ordered Ria to the hospital wing right? How could he be at fault? Was there something Sabrina saw? Or knew? Nurse Chambers comes in with the solution, handing it to Sabrina with contempt. "Hush child! Don't you dare speak such conspiracies on the Headmaster. Do you know how much he deals with on a daily? And not just with the school, politically? All the magical threats he has to anticipate on a day to day basis? To keep YOU Safe!? I get you're mad, hell I even understand the prideful rage, but don't for a second think what you're saying and how you're choosing to carry yourself is in any way helping this school be at peace and mourn a dear soul." One would think under the intimidating guise of Chambers, the expectation would be to buckle. Even Morri was a bit intimidated by the nurse, but somehow, someway Sabrina stood her ground, taking the Peace Shot and meeting her gaze. "Professor Buchanan even said it. I was right! I heard that much while everyone else was being fed nice words."

Morri interjects upon hearing her favorite teacher and father figure's name. "Wait... what? How does Head Buch factor in? What happened at the meeting?" Sabrina almost scoffs into a laugh, as she downs the peace shot before setting the shot back on the tray. "Head Buch was suspended today, no doubt for what happened at the Hall Meeting. I saw him leave with his things. All because he wanted to know the truth like the rest of us. He spoke against the Headmaster, and lost his tenure for it. Does that sound right to you?" Morri looked visibly sick and stunned at the news. Head Buch, gone? Just like that!? The only professor she really confided in, a man who'd made her a promise. Without even saying goodbye? Morri shook her head in disbelief for a moment. "You speak on things you don't understand Sabrina! I'm sure The Headmaster has his reasons, there are things students don't and won't know and need to trust our leaders and elders. It's manners!" Sabrina sighed, almost in a relaxing calming manner. The effects of the Peace Draught. She almost smiled, yet a mass of pain and turmoil in her eyes. "...And how'd that work out for Ria... hmm? You two, look out for yourselves." Sabrina said in almost a warning tone to the two girls as she walks out smug. You could feel the heat and energy teeming from Chambers as she scowled on the inside. Morri sat quiet for a moment, as Kat and Chambers were left to their own reactions. She couldn't believe it. She felt like she'd missed a week of events. What happened to Buch? What happened to Sabrina?

Before she could even process, a flash appeared in her peripheral, just outside the upper windows of the hospital wing. Funny, there was no thunder, or clouds, or bleak weather... but Morri could've sworn she just seen a flash of lightning. She darts her head to the window, Kat nor Chambers having no clue what she was looking at. Hell, neither did Morri really. She meant for it to be but a thought, but an involuntary notion escaped her lips.

"What the hell is happening here...?"

Dominique talked to Thomas for a bit, telling him how she planned on going to the ball herself. Before they knew it, it was time to begin their next part of the Jarvey. Transfigurations was a hard subject for many, Dominique included. She only maintained a good grade through hard work and studying. She had accepted that the particular subject wasn’t her strong suit, especially when it came to the hard spells. Dominique moved with the others students of her year. When they entered the room she sat as the papers were handed out. Dominique was able to answer many of the questions, to her the written part happened to be the easiest. It was actually doing the spells that got her. As she wrote Dominique could hear and see others performing the Avifors spell. She tuned them out in favor of finishing her written part. Finally the young witch turned in her papers. Dominique picked a potted plant to perform the spells on. After pointing her wand at the object and performing the correct hand movements Dominique uttered the spell in a clear voice. “Avifors.” A flock of small birds appeared in the place of the potted plant, they were rather dull in color and fierce looking. Dominique was sure that one had even pecked a student but she wasn’t sure.

Now it was time to catch their birds and turn them back. Dominique found this to be fairly simple. The last two parts of the exam were a different story however. She would be lying if she said that she wasn’t nervous. Dominique began to round of some birds one by one. She used the Incarcerous Spell bind the birds and catch them as they fell before turning them back into inanimate objects.

In the first and second year charms classroom the final test was handed back to Dean just as the last sand grain fell to the bottom of the hourglass and after collecting the tests and dropping them off at Professor Hicks office Dean made his way to his first section of the 7th year evaluations.

Dean’s first Evaluation was in Herbology with Professor Deforrest. He shared this class with his Friend Curt who had been waiting for him when Dean arrived. After finding a seat next to his friend, Curt. Curt started going on about how he’ll ace the test when Dean couldn’t help but overhear a group of students sitting in the back of the room and saying a certain name “Chasity Wilkinson”. Dean then quickly tapped Curt on the shoulder and said in a somewhat controlled manner “Did you hear that Chasity Wilkson is here.” Curt just stared at Dean with a puzzled look on his face “who?” it was then Deans turn to be puzzled but then shook his head “I don’t know how you haven’t heard but Chasity Wilkson is one of if not the highest ranked Auror in America and..” Dean had to pause and think because it had just occurred to him that MACUSA had sent their best Auror to investigate Ria’s death. Dean couldn’t help but smile which was the first time in at least a week and said: “ it looks like MACUSA is taking this seriously after all”.

Professor Deforest had just entered the classroom and started to go over the rules of the test and the different stages and the specific rules that would need to be followed.
Out of all the evaluations Dean had to take, Herbology was the one that Dean was concerned least about, not that he didn’t care for Herbology but Dean was hoping to be accepted as a supervisor at the MACUSA’s holding cells underneath their headquarters and perhaps he may eventually be able to be transferred to Azkaban. So doing well on his DADA evaluations along with his extracurricular classes was more important to him than Herbology nonetheless he still wanted to do well to keep his record in tiptop condition. The rules seemed pretty straightforward to Dean so he quickly got started on the first task which was to write a three-page essay on a magical plant that had been covered previously in Herbology. Dean decided to do it on the Snargaluff because of its interesting and dangerous properties. Dean tried to remain focused on the task at hand but he couldn’t stop himself from thinking how unfair it was that he was able to prepare and look forward to his future while Ria was robbed of hers.

Dean knew that he made a mistake thinking that it was Thunderbird tower that was being attacked that night and not Ria specifically so he thought that keeping prefects on double duty when they were not in class was the best action. Dean was also under the assumption that Ria being in the infirmary was the safest place she could have been and he thought at the moment he left the infirmary that it was Thunderbird tower that needed him the most but he clearly knew now that he was dead wrong. Dean had just received word before class that heads and prefects have been assigned to patrol the infirmary where the horned serpents Morri and her friend Kat were being treated. This gave Dean the opportunity to talk to Morri about what exactly happened at the Snakewood tree. Though Dean didn't know her well he knew that she was great friends with Ria and had been since Ria's fourth year and that she had tried to save Ria from falling but something went wrong.

With effort, Dean was able to temporarily push those thoughts aside in order to finish his paper and await the next section as a few others finished theirs.

Leo Fischer
Leo shuffled into the room, still calm, but nonetheless knowing that he would do worse in this exam than the last. He knew the merits of transfiguration, he had just never been able to push himself to enthusiasm for the subject. And while he still knew the spells, Leo suspected he'd be little more than average.

He could hear the birds passing above as he continued on his test, now going back to re-read the questions he'd skipped over. He answered them all, though the last he'd filled in was so clearly a Hail Mary that Leo wondered if he should've left it blank. Regardless, he turned in his paper, along with the majority of other student, before moving to the next task. He looked around, searching for an object that hadn't yet been transformed. Many of the smaller trinkets around the room were already birds, and so Leo's eyes settled on one of the curtains pulled back from the window.

He pointed towards the fabric, his movements neither as distinct nor as personal as his charms were. "Avifors," he spoke. Blue flashed from his wand and Leo watched the curtain break apart into avian forms. With his completion of the second portion of the test, Leo waited silently for the remaining few to finish before the class moved on to the next portion. Leo caught the birds in two ways. At first, he cast Immobulus on any birds the flew close, but as the numbers thinned, Leo took to catching them by hand when one flew close enough. Either way, a bird ended up in his hands. and when he had a good enough grip, he pointed his wand at the creature and spoke the words of his chosen counter spell. The last bird he turned reverted into a silver analog watch. Leo simply placed it on the nearest surface before finding a partner for the next task.

Petyr Buchanan trudged along the desolate road to Hornhill, thoughts revolving in head... That bastard Fontaine, thinking he can suspend me like this!? Impossible. And the MAGUSA! What a weak replacement for the Ministry, at least they were actually aware of what was occurring! The bitterness within only aided the autumn winds as they nipped at the Professor’s neck viciously, moreover the sodden road dirtied his loafers as he continued his miserable track of solitude...

Arriving at Twisted Porluck, the only tavern in vicinity of Ilvermorny’s grounds, Buchanan entered cautiously wishing to draw little attention to himself. Popping the collar of his overcoat, he cordially manuvered himself around the assortment of tables and patrons to the bar. “I need one room please.” Petyr said with his head bent to the floor, his styled grey hair the only thing facing the barmaid. “What’s the name?” The woman spouted in a thick Massachusetts accent. I can’t use my name... Possibly my alias from years ago...? Daniel Gleason” he replied simply, slapping the payment upon the wooden counter. The woman paused for a moment, studying the man’s concealed features, however quickly took the coins and moved on. “Upper floor, last to the right!” Giving the women a brief nod, he spent no time as he made his way to the room...

Petyr sat at the small desk provided in the room, his belongings sitting patiently upon the rickety bed. The window of the room faced the castle, possibly a short flight compared to the labored walk he endured. Heaving a sigh, he leaned back in the wooden chair, closing his eyes... You’re a dead man Fontaine, mark my words... You’ve taken me away from the people who need me most , frankly the only person whom I care for as well, and that bears a heavy price... MACUSA can have my head, if they can catch me...

Katalina

Watching Morri as she moved to the edge of the bed Kat began to move as well. Despite the overwhelming feeling of wanting to sleep Kat kept herself up. Quickly forcing herself awake she heard Morri speaking. "Huh? Oh... yeah." Kat mumbled out at the end. Infact, it was a taboo she thought she'd never break. But, Kat couldn't let what happened to Ria happen to Morri. The fear she began to feel suddenly swept over as she thought about the upcoming Jarveys she knew they'd be taking when she could leave the infirmary. The patronus charm was something Kat felt confident in. Though, she had a great feeling she knew what her Bogart was. Focusing on the effects of the calming drought Kat let the feeling pass as best she could. However, Morri ended up reeling her back in.

So, what's the theme this year? Good cop bad cop? Wonder Twins? Maybe we can gather a squad, be a team of Maj version of Disney princesses.

Kat smirked and looked up at Morri "I am a princess." This would infact be a rare moment. Kat rarely acknowledges her royal ties and let alone joke about it. However, the timing was to great and and the effects of the calming drought ended up lowering her mental walls. "Can I go as myself? Like, what would I wear. Would I shave my head? Would I wear a stitched and tattered dress?" Kat spoke before she began to take a rather sour tone. "Should I dress in rags? I mean thats pretty much what ended up happening to my family anyway." Kat spoke a sharp edge of annoyance and disdain in her voice. "Or should I dress in all red like the animals that killed them." Kat realized what she was doing and cleared her throat. Nearly running with it she managed to filter her thoughts, her own gift only feeding off of herself.

Feeling like she may have killed the mood Nurse Chambers chimed in on the topic of the dance and her own time as Salem. A glance at Morri only affirmed the feelings emanating from Nurse Chambers. The feeling almost made Kat going pale. In a hushed voice Kat broke the momentary silence. "I hate my gift Morri. I realllllly do right now." Shivering a bit from the uncomfortable feeling she actually thought about the dance and the people she had never gone with. "Its hard being that one girl that already knows how you feel. Makes me feel alien sometimes. Like, hard to approach because they know I know." Kat sighed before taking a drink of water. "You can have my croissant. I cant eat them, I mean I can but I am already in enough pain." Kat mumbled out the end of it.

Seeing Morri redirect her attention Kat looked over to see Sabrina approaching. Feelings of grief began to form in the pit of her stomach. The memories of what happened to her earlier in the hallways came back. What did Sabrina think of her? Did she think that Ria was pushed? 'Does she think I did it?' The thought made Kat feel sick. Listening to Sabrina speak Kat didn't think Fontaine was the one to blame. Perhaps he didn't help by ignoring it, but Kat didn't think it was entirely his fault. Atleast, she hoped it wasn't. However, her thoughts were sidelined by news that their house head was suspended. So much had happened in the last bit that Kat felt like an entire year had gone by. Things were spiraling rapidly, it was as if the foundation of the school's system was being chipped away.

Sabrina ended up getting into a tuffle with Nurse Chambers. While Kat didn't entirely agree with Sabrina she also knew that there had to be more. Watching Sabrina leave she didn't know what to say to Morri. Turning her attention back to her bed Kat sprawled out. Despite it not being time to go to bed the girl felt exhausted. She was still recovering, and her body was stitching itself fast thanks to Nurse Chambers. "Morri, I feel like a punching bag." Kat whined out unaware of what Morri was paying attention to.

Thomas had found himself sitting down again before being signaled that everyone was finished and they were now allowed to proceed to their third mission. He used an Immobulus spell to stop some of the birds and then untransfigured them quickly with his chosen spell. The first three had returned as his inkwell and the some of the following included a handkerchief (which he found out to be from a Horned Serpent) and a ring (which was quickly found by its owner who came from the Wampus House) and soon enough, all the birds have disappeared. Thomas twirled his wand around his fingers, a nervous habit of his, and then grabbed Wendy by the wrist and practically pleaded to be partnered up with her. She laughed and gave him a pat on the shoulder as she accepted.

They took their spots across each other to make sure that they don't disrupt other partners. "Hey Wendy, how much do you like your robes?" He asked and she looked at them. As a Quadpot player and an avid fan of some Non-Maj entertainment, her own robes were decorated with various pins that she would have most likely gotten into trouble with had it been more distracting. Wendy replied with a defensive clutch of the edge of her robes. Thomas let out a soft chuckle before chanting the spell and in an instant - he felt the heaviness of Wendy's robes on him, not to mention its slightly constricting since she was smaller than him. He looked back at her and she had the most offended look on her face.

"You are so dead Holleyway." Wendy said as she raised her wand and used the switching spell on him - this time taking away the wristwatch he always had with him with one of her arm brace weights and he nearly dropped in surprise but managed to recover quickly. Wendy let out a cackle at his expression and moved towards him. "Heavy?" She questioned as she gestured to the weights that was now underneath his robes. He pulled it back and groaned but then laughed as well.

"Yeah, yeah, it's pretty heavy. Let's switch back." The two quickly cast their respective spells and their clothing switched back from one another. Thomas smiled at his friend one last time before they needed to proceed to the next step. It was certainly a challenge and he knew that with all his heart. Due to him being in the Transfiguration Club, he has seen most of his upperclassmen trying out conjuration and showing them the motions. Of course, by fourth year, they'd know how to conjure up snakes and birds as well as fire and water. But larger objects were difficult to conjure. Thomas has his experience but he wasn't sure if he'd be able to do all of what he needed to. Especially since this was a class effort.

He watched as the others started to vanish certain objects - others some loose paper, others some boards, some even went as far as vanishing their chairs. He had decided to vanish his desk. He watched it disappear in front of him and then he needed to conjure one up again. He turned to the others to see how they were faring. Others were starting to conjure back their respective items. Thomas turned back to his own and drew in a deep breath. He motioned with his wand and said, "Vidediscor." He continued to motion with his wand as wood began to appear and bring itself together in the form of a desk. With each motion of his wand, the wooden parts began to bring themselves together and soon formed a solid desk. He knocked on it for good measure and it didn't break apart. He let out a sigh of relief and looked towards others to see if they had also succeeded.

The day seems to progress by as Morri watches the bright orange sky turn a shrouded white as the minutes move gradually forward. Morri snapped out of her state and only rolled her eyes thinking about Katalina's joking about her heritage and bloodline. Perhaps she shouldn't have mentioned such a theme, knowing her best friend was going to light up like the 4th of July and soak every minute of it in. But, as she got more and more grim and disdained with her dialogue, Morri couldn't help but sink back into her bed with a blank look that she couldn't tell if the girl was being sarcastic or being serious. "Whoa." Was all Morri could muster after such an exchange. She found herself zoned out from what she'd thought to have been a flash of lightning. Surely Kat and Chambers would've seen it too? Clearly they haven't by their current actions, with Kat laying out spread speaking of the effects of her emotional turmoils from her gifts, and Nurse Chambers aggressively brewing and mixing potions and formulas in an undoubtedly channeled way for her to release the anger she had from the prior exchange with Sabrina Andrews. Morri rubs her eyes and cups the bridge of her nose, praying to the heavens she wasn't having a stroke or becoming delusional. Becoming more and more like Ria. She releases a deep sigh as she lurches forward, processing all of the news and circumstances that's hit her the past day. She found her mind wandering on Head Buch. How could he just leave without saying goodbye? The closest thing to a paternal figure.

You could've saved her.
That's why he didn't want to see you.
Sabrina secretly hates you.
The Headmaster is afraid of you. Everyone is.

"No." Morri says without realizing she said it aloud. Morri closes her eyes and shakes her head, the thoughts seeming to impede her remaining security. She wondered if her friends were having the same conflicting thoughts, or something that was eating away at them that they subconsciously relucted to face. She realized it had taken her away from reality yet again, becoming aware to the fact she hadn't responded to Katalina yet. She found herself dwelling on that voice... that dream speaking to her in a mysterious wake. Wilk couldn't possibly stop a dream could she? Morri scrunches her lips in thought. From what Morri has learned and researched, the only thing that comes close to the experiences she'd been having was a Boggart, but they only prey on conscious fears, and from a confined space. Maybe Ria just had a magical seizure? An uncontrolled outburst of magic like before one would get a wand as a kid.

You're not that naive Morri.

"Has to be something." This time Morri was fully aware she'd been thinking out loud, with Chambers and her roommate in proximity of response to her words. She immediately played it off with a chuckle to the two, dismissive of the comment and simply deciding to react by eating her croissants, and then the ones that Kat said she didn't want. Morri seemed ... pliant. More docile than would warrant from the likes of her complexity.

Hornhill

The waxing day of the leaving morning arises into the new noon as the bright orange sky blankets over the magical town of Hornhill with elegance. There were mostly a compilation of squibs, retired MACUSA and North American magical figures, magical authors, alchemists, arithmancers, xylomancers, and of course the few native Pukwudgie species that decided to commune with the fellow humans. This was their land technically after all. A few of the inhabitants scatter about to their places, most frequenting the Twisted Porluck tavern and bar to read the magical paper and most likely gossip and partake in their fare share of chess. There were also those who rented out rooms at the Hog's Head Inn. Those were usually the ones who didn't want to be bothered. The tavern and the inn were both connected, and people usually came through the bar to reserve a room for some reason, probably because of the Pukwudgie behind the inn counter who was more likely to roast and troll customers than to provide customer service. Yet, as the inn Pukwudgie writes in a Daniel Gleason at the request of the bartender in the adjacent parlor, the front door sweeps open, the radiant light from the outside blasting through the door into the foyer of the inn. Another Pukwudgie enters in with a collections of parchment in his hand. He nods to his fellow member and proceeds to slam a parchment on the entrance wall, as it sticks to the surface with an enchantment. The inn Pukwudgie looked in curiosity, tilting his head as the newsman dwelled to the Twister Porluck tavern next, posting it on the entrance there as well, before walking to the lady bartender and handing her a parchment. She looks at it, and then back at him skeptically.

The newsman sifts through the building crowd as he reaches the inn after doing rounds about the entire town. He said not a word, but a stern and solitary expression on his face showed his distaste for all the humans around, let alone whatever the news was he was carrying. He hands the innkeeper a parchment, before uttering his dark and raspy voice. "Be on the lookout. Increased sightings. The Native Tribe said some of their rank have seen some anomaly in the woods. It vanishes when they draw their bows. Donnkno' if it's true or not, could be another prank. Still." The innkeeper nods in affirmation as the newsman takes his leave from the venue and returns to whatever post he came from.

Petyr wasted away within the cramped confinements of his rented room, his boredom growing with every breath he took... You at least have to be productive Petyr… Heaving himself out of the squeaky wooden chair that accompanied the desk, he popped open the largest piece of luggage in his possession. Carefully sifting to not disturb any of the folded items within, stopping only when he found the article of clothing he desired, his cloak. Pulling it from its place, he quickly fastened the black fabric around his neck; gently settling upon his shoulders. Once adjusted properly, Buchanan pulled the hood, the black fabric easily concealing his recognizable face.

Presently Buchanan sat towards the back of the Twisted Porluck, gently sipping his second glass of firewhiskey. He assumed an almost invisible position, quite the opposite of his former role to say the least…” Be on the lookout. Increased sightings.” Peytr’s head fired upward from the table, his icy eyes studying the man who currently spoke to the barmaid. It could be you… Watching as the newsman scanned the bar once more, briefly locking eyes with him, before leaving hastily. With methodical action Petyr rose from his position, casually making his way across the tavern to where the bounty was posted. His eyes scanned the document carefully…

Sighing as he finished reading, Petyr stepped aside allowing the other patrons who wished to read the document availability. This very well has extreme connections to the occurrences at Illvermorney… I need to alert Morri, once I know more... Instinctively he exited the tavern, the brisk breeze meeting his exit. Spotting the newsman nearby, Petyr made the casual treck over. “Excuse me, Sir? Do you have a moment?” Watching as the man peeked around to his hooded self, the look of concern waved over his face. “Muffliato” Buchanan muttered from under his hood, not wishing for wandering ears to hear, as approached the newsman for closer conversation…

“Could you please elaborate upon the bounty posted Sir? I tend to study this line of magic… Plus I wish to be of assistance if possible?”

Defense Against the Dark Arts VII

Herbology VII

Enchantments III

Advanced Magical Theory II

*TA in Charms I & II

The second stage of the Herbology examination involved the group of students going to a table that had six stations that students would take turns examining and identifying the magical plants that were placed there. Each student was required to name the plant, describe its magical properties along with common uses for it. If Dean wasn't preoccupied with other thoughts he would have been nervous about remembering all the different aspects of the plants, especially since in the past he had mixed plant names up.

By the time Dean had started the stages, many students had already been there and some were finishing up. Two students were allowed to be at one at a time but were not allowed to work together or even talk and Dean noticed that Professor Deforest was watching carefully making sure they wouldn't.

Carmella Adams happened to already be at the station Dean decided to start at. Being a fellow head prefect of Thunderbird and Deans vice president not to mention being there the night that Ria had her nightmare. Dean had many questions such as if she had been interviewed yet, if she had received word about patrolling the infirmary, and he was considering asking a question regarding the upcoming dance even though Dean wondered if could commit to that considering everything that had happened recently but he knew this year was his last chance to ask her but he knew he couldn’t ask Carmella anything, he was forced to remain quiet and to quickly finish that stage and move on to the next one to allow other students to start the stage. Luckily he was able to figure out the plants' name though it took him a minute he identified the plant as a shrivelfig as knew that it was used in shrinking potions but he had trouble coming up with another use though he was sure he had just read about when he was studying for the exams.

Overall the rest of the stations were hits and misses there were about three he was absolutely sure about and one other that he was almost positive about but had some doubts. Luckily Dean felt like he did good enough with the first stage to make up for the mistakes he made here although he still had the third and final stage to complete.
