Morri didn't know how much time had passed. She didn't know the cries of the students already in the infirmary before her. Hell, Morri didn't even know he she'd gotten to the hospital wing, but there she lie, in a fetal position cooped up on the bed, almost strangling the blankets as if they were a last battalion of all hope and security in the world. She was shivering very faintly and mildly, but there was no chill or frigid weather. She still saw Ria's eyes. She still saw her body when the smoke cleared. Her heart was in overload, but also if felt as if her heart was missing. Morri didn't blink, and other than Kat and the two students who were there to assist Nurse Chambers with affairs, the already tended students had no idea what the dark situation was that had brought them in until it was explained to them. Suddenly their colds and minor scrapes and cuts were no longer as important or dire. It had been hours since The Fall, as the staff Pukwudgies have so aptly dubbed it. Even now, one Pukwudgie in particular scurries about the infirmary delivering potions and solutions to the various students, while Chambers, Vas, and Thomas would tend to Kat and Morri personally. That was, when the Pukwudgie wasn't in the way. Everyone in Magical America knew that Puks had a blazingly known record for being independent and taking orders from no human. They weren't to fond of them either, and according to Pukwudgie tradition, it was common for them to never reveal their names as a part of their culture, unless one is saved by a human and owes them a debt. In this case, this Pukwudgie was found personally by Nurse Chambers during her thesis research trip into the Greylock Woods, it had accidentally been poisoned and she healed him back to health when he was all but presumed dead. Thus he revealed himself to be Wayiso.
He grumbles to himself as he moves from bed to bed delivering proper remedies. "Damn kids. Damn teachers. Damn humans. Always this, always that. Don't run in the halls, don't climb the tree, always use a condom... what the hell is a condom anyways?" Nurse Chambers side eyes him as she begins making some Calming Draught for the two subjects of the horrendous event earlier that morning. She had the most charming smile, but never let that fool... the woman possessed a fire that made even the most potent of wizards buckle when around her. Students knew two things about her universally: She was exceptional at healing spells and potions, and she didn't play games; That woman meant her business. It was probably why she had so much respect from the Pukwudgie species. Wayiso moves besides Morri's bed, looking at her in her lost, pandering eyes. "Hey... Skopos child, you got a condom on ye? I wanna see what one looks like..." Nurse Chambers immediately snapped at him for his comment and shoo'd him back to his duties. "Never mind his banter, here Skopos... take your next batch of calming draught. Followed by a nice tablet of my special stuff..."
She places a red tablet down with the formula, as Morri looked at it suspiciously. She then looks at Chambers to which the nurse smiled a bit and replied "...Tylenol." She then charges Thomas and Vas with tending to the two while she oversaw all medical supervision over the increased wing. Morri's eyes lock onto the two boys for a split second and then returns back to a distant gaze into nothing, her soul weighed by the grim events of the morning. Ilvermorny was ghastly quiet, not a peep in classes or halls as students awaited and faculty meditated. The Headmaster hasn't been seen out of his offices since The Fall. Morri grabs the tablet and drinks the draught, way too deep into herself to focus on the taste. It was almost as if it had no taste. As she dumps the cup back down where she got it. Morri looks over at Kat, who looked just as bad expressionally, and perhaps much worse overall. The girl was bruised and battered from the effects of the fall, a fall that Morri tried her best to save both of them. Make no mistake, she was proud she could rescue her best friend, but the other half of herself was missing spiritually, the half that watched Ria Pocomtuc fall to her doom willingly. Morri instinctively shakes her head over and over again, still trapped in that moment. A single deeded thought penetrated her mind as the bleak sky outside seemed to clear a bit.
You could've saved her.
