<The Hollow Fantasy> a single online server containing a vast world comprised of forests, deserts, tundras, swamps, and more. Natives to this land refer to it as Holorm. Holorm is split into ten continents separated only by a magic barrier cast by the overlord of the Holorm tower a spirling building built within the exact center of the land. Each floor of the tower is locked by a key hidden in the dungeons of each continet and clearing that floor will release the barrier on one continent. Once all key's have been gathered the top floor will open. What will happen once the overlord is defeted, no one knows.

In the year 2040 with the breakthrough in VR (Virtual Reality) technology leaving the lens of a headset and into the human brain directly. Altero a system that completed its development after almost 20 years has been put to use in a variety of fields especially in the medical field to assist in rehabilitation. However, despite being released to the public at long last, consumer products have been lacking, to say the least.

With consumer sales falling the company made a partnership with Ultimatum a local game deveoper. Sales would start to pick up with the release of smaller titles but the CEO of Ultimatum Co had a larger vision in mind. After a three year devolpment cycle <The Hollow Fantasy> is ready for its 2043 public debut.
However Holorm's new citizens were not prepared for what would happen next.

Amane would normally not be the type to be caught dead out on the streets. However today was a very special occasion, The Hollow Fantasy had just released and there was nothing like picking up a new console in person. True as that may be he didn't want to spend any more time in person than was absolutely necessary. He simply went to the game shop, picked up his new Altero System, and headed straight home. So long as he ignored all the people he bumped into while not paying attention it was a pretty successful mission. While the Altero was a little... lacking to say the least, Amane was well aware of the potential it held. Besides as someone who was constantly playing MMOs he'd be remiss not to play the newest one, especially when it was in Full Dive Virtual Reality. It's not every day an opportunity like that presents itself and the best time to get to the top of the leaderboards in an MMO was when it released. After that while it was certainly possible it was a whole different endeavor. Experiencing the updates and all the game breaking nerfs and buffs was just as much a part of the experience. Still before then he'd have to wait for the game to download on his new hardware so for now all he could do was pace around his apartment in anticipation. Well as his as it could be called, he wasn't paying for it but he was the one living there so he considered it his turf. And so long as his parents were willing to pay he planned on continuing to play games and avoid work. Was it a shitty thing to do? Yes. Did he care? Not really.

Cobalt had already gotten his console and video game for the new game called Hollow Fantasy. He was now on his way to his home where he can finally play the newest VR MMORPG. He just wanted to enjoy the game first and then go up the leader boards because he was not sure if any competition would be there for him. He plugged in the console, wore the headset, and loaded the game, and a few moments later he was in the game.
