Fantasy The Guild Stone ((Old Questing Thread))

1611910044783.png Ezekial Halo
Location: Guildhall

Standing in front of the large wooden doors Ezekial couldn't help but feel inferior, how many people had crossed unto the threshold and taken up arms in the name of adventuring. With a smile on his face, Ezekial reminisced on the first time he killed a monster in order to defend his family homestead, It was a disaster, to say the least. Opening the door he walked into the large building looking upwards toward the ceiling as he walked. After turning around inspecting the impressive layout Ezekial walked to the front desk sitting behind it was what looked to be a forest spirit or some sort of tree kin.
"Ho there stranger!" Ezekial said with a bright smile through his unkempt beard.
"I wish to become an adventurer. Whom should I speak to?" he stated plainly quickly following up with his question towards the mass of flowers behind the desk.

Lantana City Outskirts - Morning
Aki heaved a sigh as she trudged her way toward the guildhall, waving absentmindedly to a pair of guards off to relieve the gate sentries. She had to admire their professionalism, or at least their pride, managing to look just as official and in-charge as ever despite what had happened.
Having just returned from an escort quest, she'd opted as usual to enter by the town's actual gate rather than teleporting straight to the guild, stopping by her parents store and a few other merchants to mingle and gossip. The news about the ogre running amuck wasn't that surprising by itself - the kind of circus that liked to capture monsters for entertainment was dodgy at best. The shocking thing was that this was the first she'd heard about it. At least four Copper-rank adventurers had tried to subdue the thing with no luck over the course of an hour, and not one of them had put out a call for backup. Sure, everyone Silver and above had been out on other business, but who wouldn't come running when they saw a beacon on their map in the city? In the end, the guy who'd brought it down hadn't even been an adventurer. So why...? No. She knew why.

Adventurers, especially rookies, were nothing if not ambitious. Why let some high-ranker take the credit when you can deal with the problem yourself and earn a nice promotion? As if it were that easy... Even if you pulled it off, too much collateral damage and you'd be looking at a demotion and some serious debt. Not that she'd been any different. All she'd cared about when she started, and for a long time afterward, was how big the reward for a quest was. And sure, she'd had a good reason, but didn't everyone? That was probably why she'd only made Silver rank even after all this time...

With the guildhall coming into view, she brushed her thoughts aside, clapping her hands to her cheeks and rubbing at her temples a bit. Geez. What was she, some old fogey shaking her cane at the whippersnappers? The familiar weight of the door creaked loudly at her entry, and her long canine ears perked automatically as a dozen conversations washed over her. Good old guildhall. The sound of chattering adventurers, the mouthwatering smell of whatever the kitchens were whipping up, the...huge hole in the roof. Huh.
Glancing over at the reception desk, she immediately found herself intrigued. Cinder was a familiar face, even if she didn't especially know the guy. The same went for Aergundias - she'd been in a party with him once, which had quickly disbanded. The other two, though... One had about three feet on her, and judging by the red skin and horns, was probably an oni. Not exactly common around these parts, though she'd met a couple on the road as a kid. The other was...young. Really young. Probably no older than she had been when she'd signed up...

"Yo, Azalea! Hope you guys didn't pay the carpenter up front for the skylight." she called, striding forward with a wave to the flowery clerk. Once there, she took a second glance at the two newcomers, who looked pretty comical side-by-side, given their height. Even from here, she could see the girl had been crying not too long ago. Her brow furrowed a bit, looking back to Azalea before her gaze became uncomfortable. "...Seriously though, what the heck happened?"

As was expected of a gold rank, they finished of the hordes with startling efficiency. Ymir didn't stick around after the first level, dropping straight down through the floor instead. Ripples of energy distorted the areas above her as she descended. Flashes of yellow and swathes of red. She was a little jealous of that—having such an amass of magic it was visible even through the difference of realms.

The third floor was much the same as the upper two. A little darker, a lot more malicious. She imagined the smell would be quite a feat, recognising the dark mist of rot and decay that lingered.

Like she said, not so different. Bracing herself once more, she dropped through to the fourth level, finding herself in a cavernous space. A sliver of cold dread permeated the air, accompanied by a low, incidious wail that might sound like growling in the physical realm. The source was something that definitely hadn't been there before. A large, dark mass that she originally mistook for a bear.

Floating downwards, she brought her body back into being--

Ugh! She almost gagged as it hit her. The stench really was immeasurable. With her sight returned to reality though, she could say with utmost certainty that what she saw was not a bear. Nor could it be considered a rabbit—not any more.

As she watched it lumbered over the the carcass of its smaller brethren and began tearing into it. The sound of bones cracking was enough motivation to slip back into the spirit realm, shooting up through the roof just as the others finished off the rest of the third level.

"Okay," she said, returning to reality with a twist of the air. She dropped onto the cavern floor, nose curled as it made a wet squelch. "Good news—boss is on the next floor. Just a bear sized rabbit—no big deal. Bad news is it stinks to high hells and I'm not appearing again until it's gone." Pointing to one end of the cave she covered her nose with the other hand. "Entrance to it is that way, just watch your feet. The cavern is massive and the opening to it comes out near the top."

1611912362310.png Titus and Zeno quite literally blazed through the three floors, where was little embellishment needed on the fact as the countless electrified, incinerated, and assassinated bodies lay in their wake. Now they stood amidst the cavern with countless cavernous exits leading off in different directions to Seraphina knows where. "Looks like we need to wait for Ymir to finish her scouting, we don't know how many more floors of enemies we have to go. Though from what she said it seems like there's just one powerful monster somewhere between one and several caverns below us as they were keeping their distance from the fourth floor. As long as it's not something insanely powerful like an ancient dragon we should be fine, but in case of the worst I want you ready to escape with Ymir to inform the guild of what lies below." He solemnly states, unlike the others he could heal himself and last long enough to stall for time, but it sure as hell would be painful.

However Ymir soon arrived with good news, just a bear sized rabbit. Nothing insane, probably around iron or silver rank if it was a basic mutation, if it was a magical mutation then it would be around gold. "
Thanks for the information Ymir, you can head to the entrance and get some fresh air. We've got it from here and we'll bring up those we can find alive down there." Still with Zeno at his side they would be more than enough to take care of a mutant even if it was gold rank. "At least we know it's just a mutant instead of something really dangerous." He commented to Zeno as he prepared to head down. "Shame I can't just burn away the stench in a giant cavern. Welp let's get going." Titus exclaimed before heading down into the cavern at the fourth layer. "Seraphina's wrath she was right about the smell."

The guild signal had been deactivated. Azalea breathed a sigh of relief, the vines that had curled tightly around her arms receding. Ymir was a capable adventurer, but when it came to managing a crisis she didn't have the strength of a gold rank adventurer behind her abilities. Titus being there would ensure things turned out alright, regardless of who else turned up.

Letting go of the tension in her shoulders, Azalea took a moment to breath. It had been a hectic day, but mornings were usually that way. Filled with adventurers scrambling for quests and equipment for the day, before in one big wave they all seemed to clear out.

Returning to the guild front desk, Azalea settled down in the seat and pushed her tangled hair back. She couldn't really brush it anymore—not when flower stems sprouted through her scalp and leaves fell every which way—but she managed. Finally settled down for the quieter afternoon, she was a lot less frazzled by the time two other adventurers joined the building.

"Ho there stranger!" The man who entered was sensibly dressed for travel, his unkempt beard hiding none of his friendly smile as he approached the desk. "I wish to become an adventurer. Whom should I speak to?"

Azalea smiled, the bark-like ridges under her eyes shifting up. "That would be me. Azalea Gibraltar at your service."

"Yo, Azalea!" The familiar voice that called out was a welcome one. "Hope you guys didn't pay the carpenter up front for the skylight."

"Hah," Azalea said dryly. "Actually we had it done free of charge."

Despite the amused smile, Aki's expression dropped as she glanced around, observing the aftermath of the morning. "...Seriously though, what the heck happened?"

Azalea sighed, glancing towards the roof. "A lot," she admitted. "Miss red over there with the horn decided to pay as a visit through the roof. Then there was the Ogre in the city—and a myriad of other things, but hey, what's new." She was beginning to notice some of her leaves falling out with all the stress. "I'd ask how your mission was, but I've got someone I need to sign up here."

Standing, Azalea directed her smile towards the new recruit. "I've got to go and get the papers, but I'll be right back. Aki here might be able to answer some of your questions in the meantime. She's been with the guild for a good while."

"Ezekial Halo, friends would call me Zeke if I had any" Ezekial almost shouted through a smile while outstretching his hand out towards the girl that now joined beside him in the guildhall. Aki didn't look like much to Ezekial but he was never a good judge of character always being too trusting.
"A Veteran of the guild such as yourself should have a rousing tale or two, a hearty adventure to lift the spirits so to say. Any advice for a fellow adventurer Aki was it?" Ezekial questioned leaning up against the counter now grinning ear to ear waiting to hear an epic adventure or tale. His overzealous nature may come off as od but he could care less for Ezekial it finally felt like his life was starting and he couldn't' help but greet the future with a smile.

After they blazed through the dungeon, Titus spoke, saying "Looks like we need to wait for Ymir to finish her scouting, we don't know how many more floors of enemies we have to go. Tri nodded at that-"Agreed- these dungeons can have some pretty nasty creatures...."

After Ymir got back, she told em the boss looked to be a mutant bunny rabbit....... that wasnt to bad- at least it was just a mutant instead of a MAGIC mutant.......... those were the worst, and as Tius told her to get some fresh air, Zeno quietly agreed. Even if the monster was only a silver rank, they didnt know anything about it, so having Ymir around wouldnt be safe, and as Titus spoke about the smell, be privately agreed with his as he started to form a electric dagger form in his hand as they walked toward the entrance of the beast`s cave......

Aki raised a brow at that, glancing over to the hole and then to the oni girl. Yeah, that definitely looked like an oni-sized hole. "Damn. Guess somebody's signing up today, then, huh?" she asked, grinning up at their new, possibly unwilling recruit. "Don't worry, the carpenters around here give the guild a discount, so it won't take that long to pay back."

Aki raised her hand to shoo Azalea as the latter dashed off to get the paperwork - she knew how hectic it could get around here, so she wasn't about to interrupt her work. She hadn't mentioned anything about the kid, Aki had noticed. Maybe it was something she shouldn't be butting into. More importantly, she had a hand to shake.

"Aki Okamori," she replied, doing just that. Zeke had a nice firm grip, not that that actually meant anything, but it was the kind of thing her dad liked to go on about. "Advice, huh..." Looking him over, Zeke seemed old and trained enough that he probably had some experience under his belt already. Guys like that tended to be especially impatient when it came to ranking up. "Well, first of all, don't get too overzealous about taking high-rank quests. Everybody starts at Copper rank for a reason, and that's that ranks are more about trust than just strength. The guild wants to know who you are and that they can count on you, not just how good you are at killing things." At least, that was how it was supposed to be. She was well aware that some people got promoted just because the guild needed their skillset. Folding her arms, she continued, "Now, you can still take harder quests if you get someone with the rank to bring you along, but even then I'd try and get them to go on some Copper or Iron quests with you first. A good party needs to work together and know each other's quirks. You wanna work that stuff out while you're fighting goblins or something, not a wyvern."

"I have no problem starting at copper, I find it a honor to say the least!" Ezekial chuckled heartily while patting the girls shoulder.
"Does one need a team when adventuring?" Ezekial questioned while running his fingers through his hair to clear his vision of it. Ezekial didnt have a problem with working with others so to say but in his experience fire tended to be hard to control and all consuming.
"What about you? You've been here awhile so do you have a rousing team or companions to help on adventures" Chuckling he formed his fist into a ball on the words adventures with seemingly stars in his eyes at the prospect.

Leolin
"Well, I barely remember all that from when I was a kid, but oh boy have I heard tales! Hideous, deformed monsters they are! First off all, that there Stronghold they're holed up in? Not theirs! Was a Dwarven mining facility from the old days. it was. Now that the people here are on their last legs even, they still don't let up I hear. They make a real habit out of stealin' bison from the farm, these Dwarves barely make do in the winter, let alone have the blessin' of a tasty steak, no no, it's all jerky and roots just to survive. Not to mention, the Cyclops aren't just satisfied with all that, they're nae afraid to snatch one of our own whenever they bloody feel like it. They say it's better when they find the missing person a statue the next morning, for fear that they're loved ones were.."
the guy glanced meaningfully at a bowl of stew- oh, okay, ew.
"Anyway, the old folks surely know more about em' than me, if that weren't enough for ya."

Leolin nodded thoughtfully, closing his eye and tapping his chin. People eating was defiantly bad enough to warrant... very permanent solutions if they where needed, but if there was so little food up here that they had to resort to that; why didn't the Cyclops guys just leave? Well if it was just one family, maybe they where all just messed up individuals that liked murder. Sometimes families are like that. Leolin would have to ask them himself if he got the chance.

It seems time had continued to progress as Leolin zoned out, and now Apple had elected to go speak to the dad dwarf.
"Like I mentioned in the request, I'll go if ya need me."

Absently, a gold eye glanced around the bar. These guys where underfed, and overly stressed. No matter how much experience the old dwarf had, Leolin doubted fighting now would do wonders for his health- even if the guy survived the initial mission.

" We've got it handled, right guys?" he piped up, speaking as he wandered over- adding a silent " Probably " in his head.

" Haddil said you fought a Cyclops before though, how'd you get out of that? "

Risoria Ducci De Columba
"Big.. big eyeball man." Slurred an elderly dwarf, responding thoughtfully to Ducci's attempted interrogation. "Very good sir, very good!" He nodded in response, before scanning the tavern for his companions, making sure they hadn't got into any trouble. Spotting two of them in conversation, the paladin made his way through the tavern's crowd, causing a minor uproar as ales were spilt, chairs knocked around due to the bird's inconvenient size in these cramped quarters. Hearing the tail end of the conversation, Ducci was quick to pick up on the situation. "Why of course! We're all here so you don't have to put yourselves at risk!" He came in with a pat on Leolin's back, and an acknowledging nod to the old Dwarf.

"Did he now?" Alfor's expression hardened briefly, before relaxing once again. "Aye, I did have a run-in with that lot. Was bout' a decade ago, a huntin' party was formed after they made off with half of our herd, cursing us for the winter. We clashed with one in their stronghold, and were coordinated enough to avoid their line of sight for a time, but.. a second one approached from our flank, I took to the shadows, but it was too late for the others. Thought I was done fer, but I managed to hack deep wounds in the monster's ankle, slowin' em down long enough to get outta there." He sighed, releasing another wave of freezing air across the table again. "They're big, we're small. That can be an advantage if ye play it right. Another thing, don't quote me on this, but.. there's somethin' off about their senses. Almost, like.. they don't really see us." He sniffed and took a swig of his ale, wiping his mouth afterwards in a hurry. "They're just off, they are. I don't fear nothin' in nature, but those things are different." Alfor shook his head, lowering his gaze to the table.

Celia was going to explain some of the other reasons for joining the guild, but a hot guy ended up joining the conversation. She was staring at the guy for a few minutes, since they have never seen a handsome guy like him before. 'Oh my gosh. This guy is hot.' thought Celia. They didn't know that Cinder was hot, because he was a human/kitsune hybrid.
It then took her a while for them to pay attention to what the tree lady was saying. "Ok, and I wouldn't be surprised if my family is jealous about my magic at this point." said Celia. "After all, my big brother yelled at me for killing the chicken, and for stealing the farm tools. I didn't mean to kill the chicken, and I was going to return the farm tools. However, I didn't get to do that, since I used my space magic while I was crying."
She said that, since she didn't explain the actual reason why she appeared at the guild. "Also, I am pretty sure that my family wouldn't mind about the guild idea. My family is poor, and we have been struggling to protect our land from the greedy people, who want to take it from us." said Celia. "So even if my big brother told them about my magic. I wouldn't be surprised if my parents secretly knew about it, since I would often sneak out of my room in order to do my magic training at night." They were rubbing the back of their head, because of what she did. She was also explaining it to Cinder, since they wanted to know about that.
"Anyways, my name is Celia Farneti. I am the only magic user in my family, and it is nice to meet you, Cinder." said Celia, who then took out the broomstick from their portal. She was then standing on that, so she can float up a bit to get a better look at the guy by using her air magic. "You are hot for someone, who is called the Kitsune of the North." said Celia.
They didn't forget about the paper on the desk, because they listened to the tree lady explaining about how dangerous it is. 'Hm. If I can do this. Maybe, my parents wouldn't be so angry at me about the dead chicken, and the missing farm tools.' thought Celia.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regil, of course, joined them in hearing out the wizened old veteran. He crossed his arms, being quiet and letting the others do the questioning. He got most of the information he needed, there were roughly a dozen at the most. They were holed up in the fortress beyond, and they didn't seem particularly organized. He didn't have much else he wanted to ask, however some of the words the old man said concerned him. 'There's something off about their senses'. If he didn't have his hat on it'd make his ears perk up, but his lips did visibly curl into a bit of a frown. "That's bad..." He muttered to Sir Ducci passively so the others didn't overhear, he didn't want to alarm them with his mild concern, "If they have some sort of supernatural sight that means I can't sneak about then our scouting trip may be ill fated from the get go. We'll need to show extra caution." He muttered, unfurling his arms and sighing, shaking his head.

He didn't have any other questions to ask, he felt like he had all the information he needed. This wasn't going to be easy, not by a long shot, but scouting the area was really their best course of action next he imagined. At least it seemed like he'd have the maneuverability advantage here.

The front door of the Guild swung open as a girl swaggered her way inside, with a Harp in her hand and a Flute attached to her belt. Her other hand contained some paperwork regarding the completion of her quest alongside of some valuables looted off of the monsters, with those she accompanied following shortly behind her. She made her way over to the receptionist desk where Azalea was, setting down the paperwork and the valuables for her to inspect.
"We've come back from the quest with the Elf Bandits, had to use the bag of holding to store away all their weapons and other valuables we found. We'd like to collect our payment and get started on another quest, though something a little more difficult would be nice if possible." Jennie stated before her party members nodded, almost untouched by the bandits that they had fought off. The two others that had accompanied her were also at Silver Rank, though it was thanks to her efforts that they were able to defeat the bandits without any issues. The songs of a Bard were truly something to behold, especially as she was somewhere towards the middle of those in the Silver Ranked adventurers. She strived to become the top ranked adventurer in the Guild, and she had both the potential and power to reach higher hights; as almost every quest she's completed has had everyone almost completely unharmed. "Feel free to take the valuables we took off of the bandits, we've marked everything from them with tags on strings; as we had to use a bag of holding just to carry everything that wasn't claimed by the village. Any money made off of it can go to the Guild's funds, especially to fix the hole in the roof." She finished before finding a place to sit, letting her party members collect the reward and look over the quests currently being given.

"The name partially refers to my origin, a forest far up north called the Forest of Stagnant Mists. Kitsune's and other powerful monsters are known to live up there, but most tend to ignore the humans that live there. Some reports say humans and Kitsunes have children up there when they meet, but I'm not entirely sure if that's to be believed." Cinder stated as he turned the last bit into minor misinformation, though no one except his wife and kids knew of his heritage; and he intended to keep it that way. Kitsunes are known to be particularly aggressive, given that humans hunt them down on sight to gain their magic powers; under the false pretense that the Kitsunes were gods who sought them dead. He knew the reality of the situation and wanted to protect that side of his family tree, though living among the humans had also made it hard to fight against them; stuck between a war raged against both sides. His eyes went a bit dull due to sorrow, knowing that something had to be done should another series of hunts begin. "Anyway, I'd personally not talk much more about my past, not much happened back then anyway... So, once you've got your new equipment, we can get started on some quests so I can teach you the ropes."

Risoria Ducci De Columba
Ducci scratched at his chin, nodding in appreciation of the old fellow being so open with them. "Extra caution indeed, though I don't believe our plans are entirely fated for failure." He answered Regil softly, before addressing the Dwarf. "You speak of their senses.. were you able to get the jump on them at all? Are their abilities honed to such a degree?" He wondered, attempting to get a better picture of their enemy for his party's sake. "Not what I mean exactly. It's hard to say, but it didnae seem like they could actually see very far, hear ya just fine though. Now, you all don't wanna get caught up in that line o' sight, lest you end up like one of them statues, but.. it's not exactly like the stories say. That petrification takes time, I suppose dependin' on how good of look he gets at ya." He pauses to pat himself on the back, pointing to a particular spot. "I know it, cause afterwards I thought I had a bad back. Turns out, me bones had started turnin' ta stone. Had to trek south and get em' magically healed." He took another gulp of ale, his eyes looking across from each individual adventurer to the next. "You all best be careful now, ya hear? Don't get in over yer heads."

Ducci bowed to Alfor before heading back to the tavern entrance, awaiting his companions in case they wished to complete any necessary business or investigation. For Ducci however, this was enough to go on for now. A single clash with the Cyclops was not enough to truly learn of their capabilities it seemed, so only their own experience would lead them closer to victory. Hearing the news that the petrification effect was not as deadly as legend would have it was somewhat comforting though, along with the fact that these Cyclops couldn't see particularly well in what he assumed were the darkened halls of the Stoneshard Stronghold. Battle was drawing closer, so Ducci had begun to take on a more serious demeanor, considering his responsibility for the three new recruits.

"The Stronghold where the enemy dwells is not but an hour travel northward. If you three are satisfied and sufficiently prepared to begin our mission in earnest, we will set off at once!" Ducci would announce once the group had gathered once again, otherwise he would hold off if it became necessary to wait.

So their eyesight wasn't the best and the petrification takes time, Apple was thinking that this mean she would be able to snipe their eyes if she get a good position and smoke would help in avoiding their gaze. Well, let's see how that works later.

"thank you mister dwarf. Pipi, come on!" Waving at the dwarfs in the tavern, Apple then went to fetch Pipi from the front of the hearth where she had unsurprisingly garnered the attention of a few dwarfs. It must be very unusual to see a plant fae here. Pipi heard the calling and immediately followed suit while fixing the position of her helmet. Neither Apple or Pipi were thrilled to go back outside, but they had a mission to do. Once again Pipi hide inside the mantle while Apple gritted her teeth and occasionally breathes fire to endure the cold.

He began adjusting his scarf to tighten it again. Giving a mock salute to Alfor himself before following Ducci out, waving to one of the dwarven barmaids before making his way with Apple and the others presumably. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be I imagine." He noted with a short huff. He looked back at the bar, almost wistfully waving goodbye to the good fortune of warm food and a warm room. He then looked back and nodded to Ducci. "While we're on the way there though, Sir Ducci. Petrification, have you run into it before as an adventurer in other creatures? Like say a Gorgon or Cockatrice? If so, do you know if it's typically reversible?" He asked, doing what they probably should have been doing from the start and leaning into the more experienced one's wisdom. Maybe he'd have some insight on what they could do should one of them be unlucky, even if the gaze wasn't as bad as legend would have it.

And no it didn't at all make him think Azalea was trying to get rid of him any less. He was still confident of that, and he was going to have to rub his unlikely survival in her face when and if he returned.

1611978597297.png It didn't take long for Titus to spot the creature amidst the piles of bones and the rank smell of rotting flesh. As Ymir said it was bear sized. Upon inspection he assessed it to be silver rank since he felt no magic traces from it, and the request signal was iron. He hurled a fireball at the creature to see if there were any survivors, but he was instead met with the sight of human bones. He gritted his teeth and slammed his hammer angrily against the wall, he wasted too much time talking above ground. He should have rushed in from the start, maybe some would still be alive. In his rage a swirling storm of fire formed around him, this was not a spell in the traditional sense, but an expression of his self anger and his anger at the beast. "This one's MINE." He growled through glowing orange eyes. He had a vendetta against this creature now. Mindless or not it would suffer for harming those under the guild.

He hefted his hammer as the rabbit ran towards him. As soon as the creature was in front of him he slammed the hammer against the right side of it's face sending it against the wall. He then waited for it to get up before slamming it's head back down. He wanted to do this over and over to vent his frustrations but he stopped, this wasn't right. He had let his anger get the better of him, but how, why? No, he knew the answer to that: Legion. He had been feeling off since this morning, and Legion was the reason for it. As he looked at the creature he decided against his prior plan and just burnt it to a crisp before heading over to the bones of the other adventurers who died here. He picked up their belongings solemnly and left, he needed to take an hour or so before going on his next mission. "
I apologize for having you witness how I lost my temper." He declared to Zeno. "Well I need some fresh air, If you want to pick up the creature by all means, I think those fangs might be worth something. Anyways I'll see you back at the guild if you stay behind." He declared before heading outside where he met Ymir.

Zeno looks a little suprised on how Titus reacted- he hadnt expected the old guy to be.... so mad. He hadnt flinched when he had seen the bones, seeing much more worse things, but the sigh clearly enraged titus, who started to have fire spiral around him....

Zeno watched, mildly impressed at the force he put behind the hammer, slamming into the rabbit before he could even touch him, and how he attacked- Zeno might even would have had trouble dodging those hammer swings.

As titus finally did it, Zeno gave polite nod of approval, before listening to what Titus said

Zeno examined the creature, but he didnt want the fangs though, and hardly though they were worth anything, and he used a quick lighting technique to reach the surface just next to Titus, who was talking with Ymir

Leolin
Okay, so. Important information learned.
One, a Cyclops was different than a Gorgon in that rather than you look at it- they just had to look at you. So his experience with the snake ladies probably wouldn't be much help.
Secondly, the petrification was not in fact instantaneous- and reversible to at least a minor degree.

" Thank you for the info, sir! See you when we're done," Leolin waved to Alfor, and then Haddil before leaving.
The boy followed behind Sir Ducci as soon as soon as the Barbavian had turned to go . Tapping his chin, and flattening his ears; he thought as he walked back to the snow covered range. Regil was currently speaking to the other, but Leolin opted not to listen in because he had heard eavesdropping was not polite( whilst eavesdropping on the dwarfs chatter) .

"The Stronghold where the enemy dwells is not but an hour travel northward. If you three are satisfied and sufficiently prepared to begin our mission in earnest, we will set off at once!"
Ah, man- an hour? Leolin shivered at the thought. Wait, maybe he could just... His form shifted, until the body underneath his coat was covered in thick fur. To the unaware viewer the only noticeable difference was his sudden wonder filled smile- he learned new things every day.
Now suitably warm and ready to go, Leolin piped up with the brilliant ideas he had thought about for like two entire minuets earlier .

" If they have to get a look at us to use their magic, couldn't we just use big umbrellas? " He asked " And if they look at us- we just pop them open and they cant see!"
He was not joking in the slightest.
" Or we could throw really big blankets on their heads, " he had only brought one really big blanket with him though.
It seemed to Leolin there where two problems that needed to be solved here; strength, and petrification.
Now that in his mind, petrification was solved- he wondered how to deal with the strength.
Leolin had arm wrestled an ogre once, he didn't win- but he didn't loose that badly; he wondered how the two compared.

" Oh! What if we gave them some food but with a sh- " No cursing " A ton of sleeping potion and then just went and tied them up? Then once they woke up again we could tell them to go live somewhere else!"

Ymir drifted idly outside the entrance to the cave, hands looped behind her head as she stared up at the vast blue sky. She forgot how nice it was sometimes, the sun and wind on her face. The world of spirits had only darkness above. Below was where the light shined brightest.

She blinked as Zeno appeared outside the cave, raising her hand as the magic he'd used crackled away. "Finished it off already, huh."

Titus approached from inside the exit soon after. Unlike Zeno's flippant attitude, a dark cloud seemed to hang over the mage's head. Ymir raised a brow. "Something happen down there?"

Risoria Ducci De Columba
"Very good!" He greet his companions as they joined him outside. The wind hadn't let up, and it had even begun to blizzard while they were inside, making it slightly harder to make out the grand structure on the horizon. Still, it shouldn't take more than an hour or so of travel before they got there, and would have to contend with forces even deadlier than the weather. "Indeed young Regil, most magical effects can be reversed in one way or another! The holy magic I utilize possesses a purifying component, while yes, I am able to heal physical wounds, the same principle applies to effects such as petrification! It may be more difficult depending on the particular effect, but the magical application should remain the same!" Ducci uncomfortably shouted in Regil's ear, so as to make himself heard over the increasingly violent winds. It was true, that the divine power Ducci called upon could heal the majority of ailments, restoring the original form of a person, it all depended on how much power he was willing to exert. Those with his affinity had even been known to bring the deceased back to life, at a cost. Zef The Owl Zef The Owl

Trudging on through the biting cold of the valley, the temperature would begin to take serious effect on any who hadn't protected themselves properly. Certain exposed areas of flesh would begin to throb and ache, before turning red as a result of frostbite if left untreated. Ducci's size and natural protection with feathers as well as added padding kept him from the effects of the cold. Regil had also come prepared, while Leolin saved himself with a nice fur coating. Meanwhile, Apple with her small stature would begin to suffer frostbite if she couldn't keep up her body temperature through the use of her fire affinity or by other means. Early signs of frostbite would be present halfway through their journey, while after that point, permanent damage to her extremities would surely begin to occur. Ace Cream Ace Cream

"Oho! Excellent thinking out of the box, young Leolin! Though, there is a chance that their magic is only based upon having us in their line of sight, without necessarily seeing us." He responded to the boy's suggestions earnestly. The way Alfor made it sound, the Cyclops were less reliant upon their eye as one might assume, suggesting that this was indeed a creature making use of a form of magic, only utilizing their eye as a means to an end. "While I could see that all being an interesting plan, I believe we may not be correctly supplied for it at this point in time! How unfortunate! But worry not, we'll have plenty to work with once we enter the stronghold!" Ducci spoke with high hopes, attempting to keep spirits up as the stronghold loomed ever closer. Tapfic Tapfic

Apple

"OoooooOooO! Apple likes rabbit stew in winter! Find nothing but deers!"

"Mama will pour lava on your feet! So give Apple all your meat!"

"The deers are running away! Apple doesn't know why!"

With a burning javelin on her hand, Apple had been slowly trudging through the snow while screechingsinging whatever she had come in mind just to distract herself from the cold, though it's clear that the girl didn't have much talent when it came to singing. The burning javelin was able to keep her from freezing to death but didn't do much in stopping cold wind to blow her way.

"OooOoOo."

"OooOoOoOo-oOoo."

Character Info 1.png
As Jennie waited for Azalea to come back with the quest payment, some minor commotion started up outside of the Guild; with the doors being slammed open and damaging the walls on either side. In the door was a man barely holding himself up, slouching as blood dripped from their face and poured out from the injury; an arrow to the shoulder keeping the wound open. Within a few seconds she was out of her chair with her flute in hand, getting a grasp on her composure and filling the hall with the invigorating vibe of a sea shanty; notes and lines of water sputtered out of the Flute with grace and lightly lingered around the man. His wounds started to close and the arrow snapped and fell out from both ends, restoring his body close to the shape he was in before the injuries. Once she was sure he was fully healed she put the Flute back on her belt and rushed over to his side, seeing that they had come via Waystone instead of by cart or on foot. Not that he would have made it on foot or cart anyways. By this time the entire Guild had fallen silent, and had even made Cinder stop and stare at what was happening.
"The Goblins... They've come from... the frozen cliffside lake... and taken over the deserted Kingdom." Was all the man could mutter before passing out cold, Jennie gesturing to one of her party members to lend her a hand. With their help she started carrying him up the stairs to one of the guild's rooms, where the man could rest and build his strength back up. When they returned she looked worried and confused.
"He used a Waystone to get here, so he's probably a part of another smaller Guild. One of you keep an eye on him in case his state changes, and the other can look outside in case he dropped something that'll give us a better idea of what's happening. I'll stay in here and talk to Azalea." Jennie ordered as the three of them split up, making her way to the receptionist desk and waited for Azalea to come back from the back. The deserted cliffside kingdom...
