Fandom The First Generation of Empowered

Iris woke in his cell, How long was unconscious?

He thought to himself, most of the pain had gone away but there was a mild aching in his torso yet to heal completely.

Although Iris should of felt weak he didn't not even in the slightest, it was quite the opposite he felt stronger, like he could do anything.

But even feeling like that Iris didn't think once about escaping, the only thing he thought about was making every single person in this facility suffer, he swore to himself that he was going to kill every single guard, officer, whoever, and if anyone got in his way.

He would kill them too.

Through the dim red glare that the backup lights cast upon the room, Amber gaped at the boy with the silvery white hair in disbelief, though she did comply to his request and stepped forward to be gathered with the rest of the captives who had survived the dangerous outburst. His eyes were a sparkling blue, and it reminded her of a frozen lake, sleek and glittering yet cold and menacing, waiting for someone to fall through. "Stupid?" she muttered incredulously, listening intently to the conversation at hand, her ears perked for a sign of approaching guards. "You're saying you wouldn't even try? We might never get another opportunity like this. The amount of security will have quadrupled by tomorrow because of what just happened. Okay, yeah, sure, we could try it, but they'll be way more prepared if we wait than they were today. If we hurry, maybe . . ." Suddenly the sound of footsteps echoed from somewhere nearby, and Amber's voice drifted off. Dozens of guards surged through the door to the workout room. It was too late. Disappointment clutched Amber's heart. She couldn't quite find the energy to struggle even if she thought that it would be any use.

Jet black fabric concealing her vision, Amber was dragged limply through the cold metal corridors. To my cell, she thought bitterly. Once she tried to make the terribly unpleasant position that she was in more comfortable, and in return received a sharp blow to the head. She felt dizzy, and her head was throbbing. At last she heard a metal door click open, and a hard, solid shove sent her sliding rapidly into the cell, and the door clicked shut. Her head slammed against a rigid steel wall, and then everything went black.

Charlie awoke in the chaotic cafeteria, he had been falling in and out of consciousness for some time now. He was mostly buried under bits of metal table and furniture, making it hard it hard for him to move. He could see through a gap in the rubble on top of him, the other prisoners were being quickly and roughly escorted back to their cells, a dim red glow was cast over everything due to the black out, making the cafeteria look even more like a war zone.

Charlie decided to stay quiet as numerous guards moved passed him, inches from the rubble. Maybe he could still escape? He watched as Rowan was pulled out of the room followed by Ivan, there were guards everywhere.

Two weeks. That is exactly how long it had been since the Kai incident. Well, not exactly, but it was currently the morning after the two week mark. Ivan heard everyone had been found when the facility was searched. 4 of the empowered had died and 8 hospitalized. Everyone else had been deemed well enough for cells. The doctor came by and checked up on Ivan three times over the last two weeks and wondered how many times she had checked on the others, considering he got off relatively unscathed. After he had adjusted to the heat he worked out the best he could, not wanting his physical condition to degrade before the escape.

That morning Ivan expected to be like any other for the past two weeks, and it seemed like that might be true when his breakfast came on a tray again. Then after he was done eating three guards came in, cuffed and blindfolded him, and hauled him away to his first morning class. He arrived in biology and was released from the iron grip of the cuffs. He found his seat and smiled inwardly. Today would be the day.

Iris sat up from his bed, it had been two full weeks of training, he trained with his power while he was locked in his cell, and physically trained when he wasn't.

Iris stood up from his cell bed and stretched, the door swung open and three guards walked in, the one in the middle was holding a tray of food.

Why would they need three guards to bring me food?

The tray was placed on the floor, Wow thanks Iris thought.

The guards turned and left the room, slamming and locking the door behind them.

Iris sat down on the floor and ate with surprising speed.

He then smiled and looked up.

Today might be the day he thought to himself, I have finally opened my eyes.

Kain woke again to the same sight for 2 weeks. The same white room with the same people. Several tests had bin conducted on kain leaving his with some scars. They tested all his biological abilities such as accelerated healing, visually heightened sences, etc. His eyes had gone from a light red to a dark blood red. Mortis had only emerged once more after the incident, but thanks to their device they held him back only barely. Kain looked around the room as no one was their yet. The medical devices were still connected to him very uncomfortably.

Rowan was dragged into a classroom. It was almost a game to see if she was going to be in the same one as last time. If it ever came down to it, Rowan was sure she would never be able to pass a test on any of the subjects they taught in this place, and not just because the teachers sucked. She was sat down, the cuffs removed, and the hood pulled off of her head. She blinked for a moment, waving sarcastically at her guards as they left, then turning to observe the class. To her surprise, she saw Ivan. Instantly she got up and walked over, plopping down into the adjacent seat. "Well, hello there! Haven't see you in a while!" She said, somewhat sarcastically, knowing full well it was quite likely he, like her, had been confined to his cell for the past two weeks. "You weren't joking about the increased security!" She whispered quietly.

It had been 2 weeks since the incident with Kain, Trinity felt like she was going to explode, she refused to eat anything for lunch and she slept during the whole lunch time, she barely slept at night, the question was still roaming her thoughts since that day and the anxiety she had was affecting her a lot. After lunch she had 3, not 2, but 3 guards blindfold and handcuff her then bring her to the exciting part(most boring) of the day, class. When she was sitting down in class, her eyes looked all around the room, trying to figure out which class it was, after seeing a picture of a man with a top hat and a beard (Abraham Lincoln), she knew it was history. She didn't care though, she would just rather go back to her cell instead and think harder about the question and try to get some sleep, she took a long sigh and let her hair drop down from behind her ear and cover her face. Please can we leave today she thought, getting completely tired of waiting, but she knew that waiting would be worth it at the end, but hopefully they'd be out soon.

Two weeks later, the entire prison had been on lockdown for the past two weeks due to the Kain incident and this was their first day where it was back to the normal routine. Charlie lay there on his bed in his cell staring at the ceiling like he had been doing for the past 4 hours. Suddenly the door opened and no less then 8 guards entered the cell, talk about "increased security".

"Up" One of the guards said. Charlie stood up and allowed the guards to handcuff and blindfold him before escorting him out of his cell and to his biology class.

He was uncuffed and the blind fold was taken off him before he was roughly pushed into the class as the door locked behind him. Ivan and Rowan were already there. "Wow, does it really take them 8 guards to escort me?" Charlie said to the two of them as he sat down next to Rowan.

"Increased, yes" Ivan whispered back. "Smarter, no. The new amount of security should give them a false sense of security. Today is the day. Everyone you see, make sure they know too." He pulled back and Charlie entered the room. "Have fun the last two weeks?" He asked in a joking manor. "Come on over."

(and you would only have 3 guards. For something like mind reading which can not directly hurt them, 3 is only necessary. Even Ivan who can freeze people had only three guards.)

Rowan nodded to Ivan, then turned her attention to Charlie. "At least you probably have new guards." Rowan said, pretending to be disappointed. "I just feel like my guards and I aren't getting alone like we used to... Not after one of "my kind" killed a bunch of their friends." She sighed, "there's just no spark in the relationship... I think they're bored with me..."

She laughed and grinned, dropping the disappointed act, "Anyway, how was it for you guys being stuck in your cell for two weeks. I was so bored out of my skull that I ended up exercising! How about you?"

"I wouldn't complain too much if I were you" Ivan said half jokingly. "Your cell didn't have the temperature turned up to 100 degrease. Do you know how annoying it is not to make frost everywhere? Speaking of which..." He let his voice trail off and frost spread from his hands all over his desk. "Oh man, that felt good."

"I wish my cell was 100 degrees" Charlie said "They sound proofed my room, i haven't heard a single sound in two weeks, they also sent my food through a tube in the roof". Due to Charlie's mind reading and Telekinetic abilities (he ca also move things with his mind), he had been isolated so that he could not accidentally use his powers on the guards.

(Time Skip)

Ivan just finished his last class. he knew Physical training would be next, though he suspected they had set up a new room with new equipment. His guards approached him and he acted as though he was preparing to get cuffed. At the last moment he froze his guards, though he knew it wouldn't last long as they had heated armor. Next he turned to a guard with normal armor and froze him and continued to do so. The escape had began.

The door to Iris's room opend, four guards walked in with a blindfold and some cuffs.

Iris looked at them with a blank face.

The guards took a few steps towards him and just suddenly stopped.

They were frozen, unable to move an inch of their body.

Iris gave the now motionless guards a smile, he slowly made his way over to them.

He kicked one of the guards legs out from under him, the guard still couldn't move so he lay there helpless on the floor.

Iris just simply walked past the rest of them and stood at the entrance of his cell.

Without turning around Iris said, "Night,Night"

The guards collapsed.

Trinity was about to head to her next class the message passed around from Ivan that the escape was today and she heard it and the excitement hit her again but she didn't express any of it. When she was about to go to Physical Training, which was the class that she had with Ivan, the guards came over to her and they were about to blindfold her and handcuff her. She didn't know how to control her power yet so she didn't exactly know how to shift, she tried to enter fear inside her head and she thought of terrible things, her eyes started turning goldish, the gold color was mixing in with her purple eyes, as she saw the world shrink or maybe it was her. She didn't exactly know what she was at the moment because she was focused on escaping, though she knew she had claws and sharp teeth so that was a plus. She clawed and bit at her guards and they got injured only a bit since they had armor on, she ran, trying to find Ivan, she found a mirror on one of the walls, and thankfully the mirror was on the ground and she knew what animal she was now. She was a tiger, she learned that in her science class today and she smirked then kept trying to look for someone she knew, how would they know it was her though? She heard some running footsteps and she then continued running on all 4's.

Rowan had been spreading the word throughout the day, and had prepared herself for the moment. Ivan had indicated that the time to break would be after the last class before physical training. She breathed deeply in and out, trying to calm herself. She hadn't used her abilities in a while, and, while she knew she could control them, she was still uncomfortable after what had happened. She comforted herself by deciding to deal with the emotional consequences after she was out of this place. As her guards arrived to put the cuffs on her, she smiled at them. "Time for PE huh?" She asked, smiling. They rolled their eyes and one, whom she had affectionately named Jeff, started to fasten the cuffs around her wrists, but found he was having difficulty. It was like an object was in the joint of the cuffs.

"See... I don't really feel like going today... or ever again..." Rowan said, shrugging almost sadly at the men. That made the guards nervous. While she was a trouble maker in a delinquent sort of way, she hadn't ever used her powers on them or really at all while in the prison unless she couldn't help it. But today was different. "Sorry boys. It's not you, it's me, and I'm getting out of here." She said. Then, quicker than the guard called Jeff had been expecting, she kicked the guard so he dropped, then punched him in the head right in the temple as her father had once trained her to do. He dropped like a sack of potatoes.

The other two guards were quick to react, but Rowan was ready. She had actually been thankful to have her guards survive Kain's outburst. She had spent a lot of her time studying her guards, and how they moved, especially in relation to each other, and in reaction to her. All of that observation was about to come in handy.

The first guard, bigger and faster but stupider whom she called Big, went at Rowan to grab her, while the other reached for his radio with one hand, and his pain device with the other. That wouldn't do. Rowan rolled off of her bed and out of the way of the bigger guard. The room was small enough that it made fighting difficult for the big guards, but reasonably easy for the pretty small Rowan. She kneed the Big in the groin, and at the same time focused as a long staff appeared in her hand. She smacked the third guard, who was usually the one calling the shots and whom she called smarty-pants, in the hand causing him to drop the radio alarm button, then the groin like Big, finally swinging the staff and hitting him with a CRACK on the top of the head. Big was recovering, but he hadn't recovered fast enough, and Rowan knocked him out with the staff as well.

Looking around, she breathed for a few moments, the staff disappearing. She removed the guard's equiptment, smashing all of their things except for one radio linked to an earpiece and a pain device. She knew a radio would be useful to monitor the guards' movements. As for the pain device, the less she had to use her powers, the better.

She put the earpiece in her ear and grinned as she heard the worried voices. "Man down in east-wing. I repeat, man down in east-wing. Need backup. Prisoner is loose. Prisoner is loose." The break had begun.

Every guard around Ivan was frozen in place or unconscious. Another empowered took out his guards and he started running for the control room. Once that was out of the picture things would be a lot easier. The only problem was many doors were now closed, locking him in. He needed another way out or someone to break the doors down.

Kain leaned his head up as some of the scientist left els wear some gaurds behind the two way mirror. Kain struggled to move, but he was to drained however he was left with only two gaurds outside his cell lab from what he could tell. Perhaps a break out was happening. He did not know, but he did so desperately want to leave this place.

Kain closed his eyes and flexed his arms as the electricity flowed from the machines into him. The lights flickered on and off the he gathered power, and strength. Black electricity flowed around him then shout out in all directions flowing through the machines into the sockets. The electrical overload cause the while building to shut down black electricity hitting every section except to control room however the lock was affected disabling it. The red emergency lights kicked on as Kain was released from the rest restraints. He pulled the cable from the back of his head and body out tossing it across the room. He knelt their weakened gathering strength he waited a few minutes.

The hall Ivan was in was plunged into complete darkness before the red lights came on. He was already freezing the door and forcing ice in the crack. It took some time, but he did end up forcing the door apart with enough room for him to slip through. It was the last door he found and he didn't meet another guard until he was outside the control room. He ended up freezing one and crushing the other with his frozen friend. He opened the door and the ice spread across the room. There were only a few guards in here and those too were taken care of. It seemed that no one else in the room was trained to fight and he boxed them in the corner of the room. The controls were actually fairly simple and he opened all of the doors in the facility. Finally he froze the controls. He made it so cold some metal snapped and all computer parts we surely dead. He walked out of the room expecting heavy resistance. He was also beginning to fatigue from heavy power usage.

Four guards barged into the biology classroom, aiming straight for Amber. Oh gosh, this is it, this is it, she thought nervously. She had practiced with all her might in her two weeks of solitude, trying as hard as she could to simply move one piece of food to different locations in the room at will. At last she had gained slight control, but with the anxiety that she was currently experiencing, she didn't know if she would be able maintain that control when it was most vital. Most of the times she had been able to use her telekinetic powers only due to her eventual extreme frustration from being incapable of controlling her telekinesis, but at the end of those two weeks of consistent practice, she had finally been able to slide the plate of food to any area in the room, whether it was in a corner of the cell or at the top of the ceiling. But what would be required for this breakout would have to be much more powerful than that.

When the guards reached her, they instantly wrapped her custom-made jet black piece of fabric around her head. She had decided ahead of time that she would wait until she had arrived at the physical training area before making, or attempting to make, her first move. It would be much easier there, with the variety of items that she might be able to telekinetically fling at the guards. She also had planned to do a bit of struggling before they arrived, as a sort of way of manipulating even herself and her own emotions. She would act helpless and weak after they punished her for straining against their restrictions, so they would feel successful and confident that she had learned her lesson.

After Amber's hands had been cuffed firmly, even more firmly than before, what with the increase in security, the guards shoved her crudely out of the classroom and into the cold, dark corridors. Unable to use her power because of her lack of vision, there was nothing she could do but comply; however, she did not have to pretend to. She began to squirm and struggle with the hand cuffs, and she jerked her head sharply forward, in a feinted attempt to free her caramel ponytail from one of the guards' firm hands. Instantly she received a sharp blow to the head in response, and a hand slapped her arms, causing them to sting. She began to feel dizzy, but the spark inside her had been ignited, and a flame of fury was blazing in the depth of her emotions, searing what was left of her good judgment.

She struggled again, writhing with more force and willpower, trying to convince herself that she actually could break free from the cuffs if she tried hard enough. This time, the four guards stopped and turned, thrusting her against a solid metal wall. She felt her back and the back of her head collide against it, and the throbbing in her head intensified, but so did her rage. Her cheek felt something harsh and abrupt - the back of a hand. It struck her cheek several times, leaving it stinging, and she almost tried to caress the burning rash with her hand until realizing they both were in cuffs. "That should leave 'er disciplined," one of them chuckled gruffly. She felt more helpless than she had intended to feel. She felt powerless, defenseless. But most of all, she was angry. She would get back at those who had harmed her if it was the last thing she did. Against her will, she strained to hold back from struggling more. But the flames inside her were tremendous. They were bright orange, flickering intensely, waiting for the next victim to tear to pieces.

At last, Amber and the guards arrived at the training center. Once they had released her from her handcuffs and blindfold, she ran vulnerably across the room. "Please don't hurt me again!" she cried softly in a high-pitched voice, and although her body was bruised and throbbing, it was all merely an act. She simply could not wait for the right moment to strike back at them. As the guards began to relax and settle down, Amber spent a few minutes on the treadmill before drifting to all of the other captives in the room and murmuring casually in their ears a warning to stay down and keep to the middle of the room as soon they heard a whistle to the tune of "Ring Around the Rosie". Once she was sure they were all aware of what was to come, she began to drift nonchalantly towards the door. While the guards weren't noticing, she was able to quietly roll several dumbbells in their direction under her telekinetic control.

And then she went over in her mind how she felt as she began to whistle. She reignited that rage, that fire inside her. The guards' cruel laughter rang menacingly in her head as she stared at the heavy gym equipment. With all her might, she focused her strength and concentration on them, and suddenly they all erupted into the air, flying towards all of the guards in the room in all directions, and she ducked to prevent her own harm, making sure she was not against the wall like most of the guards were. And then they began to collapse. The numerous weights slammed into their heads and they each crumbled to the floor. Except for one. He was shorter than Amber herself, and had been walking across the room. Almost all of Amber's energy had been seeped from her body, and she could do nothing more but dash wildly, uncontrollably, out the door and into the hallway, desperate to escape.

Rowan was running in the direction of what she had hoped was the control room to meet up with Ivan. She had looked for other empowered prisoners on they way, but with the dark and the chaos, it was impossible to find anyone. She paused at the corner of an intersection, trying to remember which way it was to the control room.

All of a sudden, out of an adjacent room, Rowan guessed it was the new Physical Training room from the equipment inside, a girl came flying out, practically crashing into Rowan. Recovering from the near collision, Rowan recognized the girl as Amber.

"Amber! Good, I found someone! We need to get to the control room!" She said, pointing down the hall. "Ivan's there, and he knows how to get out..." I think, Rowan added in her mind.

Kain fell to the floor pain coursing through hus body, and mind. His vision blurred as he got up slowly. Dressed in only undergarments he blasted the door melting it to a puddle of metel. Stepping through it he snuck up behind the two gaurds as best he could. They both had came in pressing buttons to communicated with control to see what had occured. One gaurd spoke on the intercom inside the control room" command this is black squad 2 ( no not being racest it's code for black lightning) the power has gone out what are your orders....command?...command you there?" He said right as Kain put his hands on the gaurds necks. Instantly white electricity arced from their body's flowing into Kain healing him. The gaurds let out loud screams which echoed all the way up to the mid levels. It was also heard on the intercom before cutting out. As their burnt body's fell to the floor he opened the door looking outside. There was no one else in the hallways. He took the armour from the gaurds along with a metal riot control rod. From the lower levels he made his way back up hoping to escape the wretched place killing any gaurd that got in his way.
