The dragon's throne sits empty, The king is dead, attacked by a assassin who was apprehended but sadly not fast enough...
The three loyal, trusted, valiant knights are the ones to hear King Hart's final words...
"protect my family, these fiends will strike again, you must cut the head off the beast lest they hunt us forever... My dear Limon shall take the throne until a heir can be chose.....an...."
The poison took his final message, but the king has letters from a individual which helps cast a light of understanding across the situation. Upon deciphering these letters...
The Dragon king had his rouges investigating criminal syndicates known throughout rumours and legends as the Shadowhand.
If such a impossible group of thieves, spies, murderers and worse had some sort of underbelly faction operating across the world... It's inevitable they would attempt to userp the Dragon's throne, to rule Drawiin is the first step in controlling all known lands.

The knights took their kings dying request to heart.

Limon Bluflame...The Dragon kings newest concubine who had only just given birth to a baby boy three months ago,
Became Drawiin's temporary queen. The many wives that came before Queen Bluflame and the King's children were upset, furious, but ultimately unable to go against the Dead king's request.
How can a worthy successor be chosen from twenty heirs? Twenty boys and girls born to King Durran Hart, the only thing they hold in common is their father.
(And you know, being able to turn into a dragon)

Limon was ambitious for a young woman, she wanted to hold the throne until her baby was old enough to rule. Queen Bluflame was bound by a oath however...20210209_080837.jpg

The king chose her to take his place, but only until a suitable heir is chosen. How can the Queen keep her power while also adhering to her lover's final request? Limon decided on a quest...
A campaign against the Shadowhand, the criminals able to murder the Dragon king.
All the king's children were summoned before the queen who gave them a choice.
"Avenge your father, crush the shadowhand and prove to the people, myself and the soul of your father, may he rest in peace... prove that you are fit to rule Drawiin. The Dragon's throne is for those with strength and wisdom. This Throne sits ontop of the world, only those fit to lead have any legitimate claim to rule."

A impossible task even if the kingdom was behind them... With news of the Dragon kings death spreading, Queen Limon works tirelessly in order to keep her kingdom from falling. Unable to spare any detachment of soldiers each Prince and princess of age must hire their own escorts to embark on this campaign. They are to meet with the leader of Drawiins rogues for information on the shadowhand, from there they have one goal. Avenge the king, Destroy the shadows.
====================
To play in this rp you need to fill one of three roles.

Dragon heir. A child of the king. Able to transform into a Dragon using mana. Your mother determines what type of magic the Dragon breathes. If she had fire mana. Your a fire Dragon. If she controls ice you a frozen Dragon
(there is twenty heirs but for the sake of being sane I'll allow only four or five to actually go on the campaign)

A knight, the top three are called Dragonknight but every knight is capable of kicking ass and using magic.

A Rogue, the top three have Dragon ahead of their profession, but there is a whole guild of sneaky sorts who do dirty work for Royals.

========================
Detailed/casual is the style I'm after.
Hoping for two or more paragraphs each post, with each player posting at least twice a week.
Ask questions here or write Mudshow into a post if you want me to take your interest seriously.

There is unlimited amounts of rogues and knights for players to be.
But the Dragon knights and Dragon rogues are limited to three each, they are considered a rank higher then your average knights and rogues/ninjas so get in quick if that sort of thing matters to you.

On another note this rp can be played from the other side of the fence. If you'd rather this let me know there

Mudshow and what not

But I have a question first. I want to make a knight that has strong religious beliefs, a paladin of sorts, one who will, hopefully, have to struggle with the demands of his office and that of his faith when they are at odds. So, does this world have a planned central religion? Is it mono or poly? If poly, is it 'make your own god, doesn't really matter' kinda thing [If the gods are real or not in a meta sense doesn't really matter to me, they are real for the character] or is there some other form planed?

Hello! Mudshow! Your plot and story is really interesting! I prefer this plot structure and this side of the story rather than the Shadowhand linked side of the story.

I have a couple of questions myself in terms of the mechanics overall regarding the roleplay.
  • Regarding the escorts for the Prince or Princess, how many are you expecting for each Prince/Princess? Is it a group of people together (3-4) or just one on one?
  • Based on the answer above, while everyone's goal is to meet with the Drawiin rogues' leader for information, is it "every team for themselves" sort of approach since all of the Prince/Princess trying to prove they're heir to the throne?
  • Depending on the interest and how many players join, how will the "teams" be divided, if there are teams? Will you be dividing the "groups" or will it be based on the players?
  • Will you be controlling NPCs or will the players be the ones to add twists and turns? Or would it be both?
  • How much lore / world-building will the players be able to have?
For example: If the King had many children with many different wives, how is his relations towards his children? Does everyone live in one big kingdom with different sections of the castle belonging to different concubines? How were his wives treated? Did he want some of the Princes/Princesses to have a specific occupation , did he give a specific region or land to them in this world? Etc.
    - It sounds like there's a lot of room for a lot of inner conflicts and drama inside, so I'm quite curious for background / backstory information among the siblings and their relations plus the status quo & image they have to maintain.
So sorry for the many questions! I'd just like to get a better feel for what you're looking for in the story.

The gods are real in the sense that all sentient life recognises that higher powers are kicking about somewhere influencing Aerth in various ways. Evidence of gods being real comes from isekai souls chosen by these gods as champions. These "God sent heroes" and some important mortals are able to communicate with these higher powers with glowing crystals called God stones.

A check I posted might help explain it a bit as the big plot point was one of these gods received enough praise and worship that he was able to gain more power and name himself, thus getting more praise and power etc

Oh, neat, so a true paladin then, getting power from faith and their deity rather then raw magic. I like it. So would it be fine then to make a deity that he worships [I will never control or act as the deity, no real interest in that, don't even want them to ever speak to my character, think a plot point where my character cannot, for some reason or another, hear their voice would be neat] and acts as his patron?

Thanks for asking, I'll try and answer in order...

Depending on how many players rock up I was hoping for teams of three, with one heir and two escorts for each team.

Each team would be meeting and learning the same info from the leader rogue at the same time, it's up to the characters to decide if working together is the best option or not. But ill be gently forcing each player into a group/the same areas to keep me having to GM for separate journeys.
While team A might split from team B in game for reasons each heir would be heading to the same place

I'd like the players to decide the teams but I can force that If need be.

I'll be controlling most npcs enemies and such but I'm happy for others to write these roles if I give them some direction in what's happening. For example I don't want people introducing demonfolk unless I give them a idea of what demons in this world are.

As for the lore/world building I'm happy for people to do and add as they want and like as long as it makes sense. Asking questions about this sorta stuff helps me set the tone somewhat with the lines to draw inside.
But for the most part you can write what you want and ill only ask you edit or change it if it seems to wacky/unlikely

He can be driven by this deity but mana/magic is inherent in all living things. The gods don't make people go super or anything but if your Aerth born mortal was pious and skilled enough the gods would speak to him via a godstone

i might have to make my picture Timmy turner

I understand the concept of the godstone, but I am saying I'd rather it.. not. It'd be very neat to play a character that has devoted their life to their deity and cannot hear them. Adds a lot of personal dilemma that they live in a world where others can speak to them, but no matter what they do, how hard they fight, they receive only silence but pray anyways out of belief even if there is tings of envy and even jealousy at those that can.

Can be a reason for it that can come into play later, but honestly, totally fine with it just being some weird thing that afflicts said character that never has a known cause or root. In a reality where the world is a song, he is deaf, kinda thing.

Yea you can write what you like either or fits well
