Fantasy The Dark World (rp)

Einua woke slowly, Eyelids crusty once again. Gentle fingers raised as they wiped away at the goop, stretching gingerly as unused muscles became normalized by use again. The pain running through his body was almost unbearable, made his head swim with delirium and confusion. With two hands he braced himself forward, his chest flushing out femininely as his wet clothes stuck to his skin. Gentle visage messied by the dirt he had slept on and curly hair unkempt and mangled in a couple area's, shaky muscles gently pushed Einua forward. Noticing the food in the creations hands, he took from it and munched down the turkey breast. Tears welling up along his cheeks at the taste of food, although his face contorted. He had eaten his food to fast, and in response his body force him forward. Hurling the contents in his stomach and splaying them against the dirt, the smell wasn't that horrendous, and it was a good thing he wasn't near anybody.....people,h e was surrounded by people; And a lot of them. He tested his muscles, but his body barely moved to any of his commands. Whimpering heavily he curled himself into a ball, the tears running thick along his cheek. The pain from lasts night...still wavered in the middle of his chest. and on top of this he was surrounded by stranger's. They hadn't killed him,but he didn't want to take the chance. but in his current state he really couldn't do anything, except from sit there and wait, wait and see what they would do, the thought wasnt pleasant....not one bit.

-= KAIA WINTERS =-
Fugitive | Abnorm | The River

Kiroshiven Kiroshiven @AnyoneElseRevelant

At the very crack of dawn, the warm orange sunlight began to dance down the landscape, illuminating Kaia’s sprawled out sleeping form. Well, half sleeping anyway. Her internal clock had already begun to set off its alarm, since Kaia usually woke at this time. Very early on, she’d realized that bounty hunters didn’t sleep in. And if that was true, neither could she. Yet this particular morning, her body still yearned for rest after last night’s events and was reluctant to rise at such an hour. The morning light teased her eyelids, making her squint and scrunch her nose but she refused to give in to its demands. That is, until a loud thud and random shockwave of dust jolted her awake. Immediately, she shot up into sitting position. What was that?? Where am I?! she thought, gripped in a moment of sheer panic. However, after noticing the other sleeping bodies near the charred remains of the previous night’s campfire, it all began to come back to her and she rubbed her eyes sleepily with a groan. Several minutes she sat there, debating with herself whether to take off right then and there before the rest of the rag tag group woke up. Glancing down at herself, she chewed her bottom lip. She was quite the sight to see, hair strewn about every which way, clothes crumpled, dirty from sleeping on the ground, and damp with morning dew. Not to mention there was literally a river only a few feet away.

Making up her mind, Kaia rose to her feet and gave her knees a few lazy brushes with her palms before setting off upstream, careful to avoid the other group members who had chosen to sleep by the river as well. She kept going until she was a decent way from the camp in order to ensure she was alone. She surveyed her surroundings several times just to make sure, then began to let her hair down. Her fingers carefully released each of her tightly weaved braids until there was not a single lock of hair restricted. The sky blue tendrils flowed down her back and over her shoulders much like a pale waterfall. After combing her fingers loosely through her hair to work out any major knots, she gingerly stripped down to the bare essentials, which for her was her necessary female undergarments, close-fitting shorts, and a tube top. Once more, she nervously looked around. No one? No one. Good.

Kaia then proceeded to wade into the river’s oh so inviting waters until she was about waist deep. The freezing water sent a chill racing down her spine. “Just the way I like it,” she chuckled to herself. This, in turn, spurred several flashbacks to when she was just a little girl. The cold had never bothered her like it did the other kids. They all called her crazy or insane for swimming in the early spring, just after the lake had thawed. Even though she’d been a Type 1 abnorm from birth, she still hadn’t quite…figured out what her ability was yet. Maybe cold resistance? Kaia sighed and started to scrub her dirty clothing. Maybe she was just defective…an abnorm who’s DNA had all the components for some inhuman power but for some reason was malfunctioning. Grimacing at this idea, she scrubbed her clothes harder in an attempt to discard that depressing thought then laid them on the rocks to dry. Returning to the frigid waters, she allowed herself to sink down into them completely. For once, a genuine smile of content graced her lips. Meanwhile, the immediate air around her gradually became colder and colder as she rested there, blissfully unaware.

Now much more relaxed, she began to bathe herself, wondering if maybe running from the merry band of misfits wasn't the best decision after all. They had all been so...kind to her. On the other hand, they were complete strangers who could turn on her in a heartbeat.. With her back turned somewhat towards the shore, she pulled her long hair in front of her to rinse it the best she could, revealing her bare shoulders and thus illuminating the slave identification symbols etched into her skin at the base of her neck. The black ink stood out against her pale complexion and her shoulder blades jutted out from her already thin frame more so than usual due to her recent fugitive lifestyle. The slave trade was a very well-kept secret of the Prophets. The sub-gang operated with its own trademarks, though they still resembled those of the Prophets in subtle ways. Most didn’t even know the business existed. Unfortunately for Kaia, she knew all too well how very real they were..

Morning. A bleak reminder of her continued existence. Prying the frost from her face which sealed her pale eyelids shut, Jess opened them, revealing her light blue eyes, only to witness a usual sight. The area around her had become desolate, the frost tipped grass long turned grey and dead. Sure, she had woken to far worse, but that was no consolation, it was only a reminder of what she was. Her 'hands' still tucked within the pockets of her hood, she withdrew them, stumbling toward the stream. A loud thud in the distance made it clear the large group was still around, she figured they would be gone by now. It seemed her previous assumption was incorrect however, perhaps she overestimated the abilities of the bounty hunters, with the amount they abused their abnormalities, as well as the constant yelling, surely even a half-brained hunter would notice them. Though that did relax Jess slightly, it seemed they weren't looking around this area, at least not yet. Though she wasn't about to take any chances. Regardless, the continued presence of this gang of abnorms prevent her from travelling further into the brush.

Slowly, Jess dipped her claw-like appendages into the soothing water, a calming sensation overcoming her for a short moment. However, the longer they remained, the colder the water became, the temperature drop easily noticeable, even upstream, small fish nearby beginning to turn over from the sudden drop. "Hhhuu..." The girl sighed, placing her 'hands' back into their pockets, the only place they belonged it seemed, a small frown only growing across her face. As she removed them from the water, they dripped for a short moment, before drying almost instantly in a display of thick mist. Though she didn't know how, if only she could control such power, maybe she could benefit from it. But she couldn't, and she was far better off remaining near what she had already damaged, in her mind at least.

Patrick's computer had finished rebooting and woken him up exactly one hour before sun up as per protocols he had set more than thirty years ago. He stood and quietly moved out to the river being very careful not to wake the kids or anyone he passed by. The soldier had gotten up at the exact same time since he had first joined the military, early in the morning was the perfect time to get his daily work out in, his computer could keep his body in perfect physical condition without him having to do anything but he found his morning p.t calming.

Patrick stood next to the river and stretched the stiffness from his muscles before striping out of his shirt, he wouldn't have time to wash the thing before they reached the next town and didn't have the clothes to spare, before dropping to the ground. He quietly called cadence to himself as he began his morning routine, at the count of a hundred he jumped to his feet and took off down the bank at a sprint. His computer chimed five minutes in his head and he dropped to the ground again, this time only counting to fifty before taking off back to where he had started. He continued this pace until the first rays of light started to peak up over the horizon.

He pulled to a stop next to his discarded shirt and paused to catch his breath, and looked over to see the rest of the group starting to stir. Still breathing hard he picked up his shirt and moved to the camp site to prepare more coffee, just in time to see Scarlett cry out and launch into the air, incoming, he yelled out and dived behind a tree. There was a loud crash and a wave of dirt rolled around the tree. Patrick stood up only as the dirt started to settle, Christ girl you can't do anything silently can you, he called out as he moved through the dust to find Scarlett, thankfully, just fine. His voice sounded just as gruff as usual, except there was more than a hint of amusement in his eyes as he came up to the young girl and patted her on the head relieved that she didn't seem hurt at all from the fall.

He plopped the already prepared coffee in the embers of the fire and looked around to see the rest of the camp begin to move, he was in a surprisingly good mood this morning, which for him meant he wasn't scowling as deeply as usual, he folded his shirt neatly and left it on the ground next to the fire before calling out yet again to the group as a whole, Coffee is ready for anyone who wants some, he paused seeming to reconsider his offer before adding, only one cup though...and a small one.

Sera knew from experience that sleeping in the open was the equivalent to lending your throat and a knife to a serial killer. A few years in as the medic of her squad, they'd been stranded in foreign territory while on a mission. At the time, she and her squad were tasked with investigating a nearby encampment that had been reported to harbor "dangerous persons." At the time, the squad had been a part of a much larger convoy, but due to the uncertainty of the matter, only a few men were needed... or so they thought. The secret was kept from the team, classified information. The lack of intel influenced the squad leader's judgement, causing him to make the fateful call to "split up and isolate" the suspects. Confidence bolstered by the illusion of success, the men decided to set up camp some miles away in a nearby forest. This forest was dead, however. The trees were old and cracked, whitened in places; dusty. It was like the ruins of a bombed city. Sera and her squadmates picked a sizable clearing, and just as she laid down her sleeping bag, an enormous cloud of dust appeared, engulfing her comrades before descending on herself.

"Gah ha! Wh-what the he--!" Sera gasped and coughed as she sat up, spitting and wiping her face from the dust cloud that Scarlett, from the fact that the cloud came from her direction (and that she's standing), must have caused. "Uck! Eh..." Sera rubbed her eyes, adjusting to the bright morning Sun. With some effort, she pushed herself of the ground, nearly tumbling into the river as she did so. It seems the night as passed peacefully, all traces of her nightmare vanished from her mind. Giving a wide stretch, Sera moved about to wake up her muscles, before drinking some water from her bag.

Yawning, Sera set her bag back down to a solid area beside the river before moving to scatter the campfire. It must have burnt out overnight. All that's left were charcoal and ash within a circle of grayish black stones. Using her foot, she lightly kicked the stones away and scattered the ash around, finishing the job by grabbing handfuls of sand to pour atop and mix with the ash. It was best she did this before washing up. Once she finished, Sera walked back to the river.

There were no change of clothes nor towels, and Sera didn't feel like going through the hassle of undressing, especially with certain types of men around. Not that she particularly minded, but the implications were none so pleasant. Without further ado, Sera walked right in, fully clothed. 'Hmm, at least I can wash my clothes too.' She jokingly thought to herself. The current wasn't too forceful, though it felt extremely refreshing in the heat. Sera couldn't resist letting out a content "Ahhh..."

The water from where she was standing was deep, going past her waist and partially her stomach. Starting from her face, she splashed the cool water down her body, feeling it melt away the accumalated stress from yesterday. It was without doubt that the amount of generousity and kindess she had shown would be suspicious in the eyes of other people, and the thought saddened her. It took effort. A lot of it. Letting loose before the camp was a big regret for Sera. Regardless, the outcome was one she desired, at least everyone is not turning on each other.

Letting the cool water -- 'Is the water getting colder, or is that just my body..?' -- wash away those thoughts as well, Sera began to clean her hair. The locks were tangled in places, but they seemed to not be splitting too badly. With gentle strokes, Sera gradually unknotted the little knots in her wet hair, before slowly undoing the special red braid last; remembering the time she first saved a human life, how the blood had gotten onto this part of her hair. All the while humming a rambunctious tune her sqauddies used to sing all the time when they bathed or showered.

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Forest

A few steps away from the river bank, the air cool in the summer heat, a surprisingly comfy place to sleep, Lucca was all curled up like a cocoon within the blanket left to him by the old timer last night. He would have thanked him for it, but the old timer quickly walked away without saying a word. Guess he didn't like Lucca much after all. But then again, he did leave him a blanket, so at least he didn't despise him... hopefully.

When a sudden thud crashed into the ground somewhere on the campsite, Lucca, did not wake to it, in fact, all he did was open his eyes in a daze before closing them again. Bounty Hunter or not, the desire to sleep in was real, and that's not to mention that he didn't exactly had a good night's rest either, as it was hard to sleep between the blood song taking whatever time it had left tormenting him and Lucca's own conflicting thoughts. The whole night he was just thinking, pondering about himself and what he'll do from now on with the blood song constantly in the background.

Lucca had been a Bounty Hunter for a long time now and his whole life he spend under the Word Government's "protection", to suddenly be told that he was an Abnorm was definitely shocking, but even worst was the thought, the question in regards to what he had been doing to the Abnorms he had brought in. He had thought that he was helping, regardless of whether if it was for his ego or for others, that was what he had thought he's been doing. Yet, to be told that what he did, that bringing them in alive was a fate perhaps worse than death. Who could sleep on that? But eventually, he did sleep, his fatigue finally over took his worries while at the same time, the blood song was dying down, though the sun was already slowly rising on the horizon by then.

Vira

Tib199u.png

The darkhaired chick glanced across the clearing, sleep still clinging to her eyes. "Grrah..!" she hissed, aggressively wiping her eyes. Scarlett crashed back down to the earth, kicking up dust in a cloud. Vira withdrew away from it, frowning, raising up an arm to cover her nose and mouth, to not breathe in the cloud of dust. "Hey! Watch out, girl! Some of us don't like to play in the dirt and grime!"

She hadn't meant to notice, but it was hard not to. The girl from last night that she had basically given her share to finally managed to eat. She scarfed down the food, then... she promptly upchucked it. Vira acouldnt believe her eyes. "HEY! What's the big deal?!" she shouted angrily. "That's perfectly good food, dammit! Don't just fuckin' puke it up! What the shit! You better eat what you just threw up onto the ground! I didn't catch the damn thing for you to paint the ground with it!" The girl laid down and curled up. "HEY! Are you listening?! I'm talking- oh fucking hell..." Sighing in frustration, she gave up. She should've just ate it last night, instead of letting the kid have her food. Goddamn...

Vira was quite irritable already, yet she could not recall her dream that she had awoken from with a start. She simply wasn't a morning person. All the anger she had experienced already was culminating, making her quite grumpy. Also, she had anger left over from that dream she couldn't remember. Wanting to still leave these freaking people behind, she heard a call from the pile of ash and smolders at the camp's center. She wasn't a coffee person, but blast this fucking morning-tiredness! Quickly marching over, she hissed, "Give me a cup then, old man! Make it bitter and distasteful! I 'like' my morning drinks inky. Unless you have any booze? I freaking ran out last night." He probably didn't care, nor did she expect him to, but regardless she held up her canteen, with the lid off, shaking it upside down. Nothing came out. Her gaze up at him turned sour. "Well? Hurry up old man. I haven't got all damn day!" -Thanks to waking up late, dammit... Her rusty gaze turned sharp, expecting him to follow through with her demands, while her hand was held out for a cup of the joe.

"Hello Ms. Ice," a sophisticated, polite, yet soft-spoken voice sounded from just behind Jess. When she would turn around, there stood behind her a woman in a dark hood. Her cloak was obviously dark, but it seemed to shimmer as if... it was trying to blend with the environment. It made for a sight that was quite hard to concentrate on.

The woman drew nearer, making her slightly clearer, but she knew how to hold herself to keep parts of her hidden. Her hair was long, peeking out from her hood down its front, glimmering a bright silver, catching the blue sky above, and reflecting it quite beautifully. Quickly, she paused, then took a step back, expecting to spook the girl. Hands came up in the age-old sign of hold. "I apologize! Do not strike out, miss! I do not mean you any harm. In fact... I have something interesting to discuss with you. You know of that group of Abnorms over... there, yes? I would like... to make a deal."

Her lips curled into a smile, then she said, "But before that, would you kindly give me your name? I am Hidden."

Einua had noticed as some of the people woke slowly, Eyeing them down as they slowly got up and went in odd directions. The girl with black hair began to yell at him,her voice heavy and thick in the air, he turned to glance at her and saw the anger in her eyes. So he chose not to respond, its best to leave angry people be, conflict was useless. He let out a soft whimper as he looked down at his chest, remembering the energy that had escaped from his body just hours ago. As usual he didn't have control of his powers...or of his emotions. Funny he thought, seeing as he just judged the girl with black hair for getting so angry so easily. But it was human, to judge quickly and then fall victim to the very thing you've judged. flawed was the human race, and its way of thinking. He shook his head silently, he should try better to dismiss such cynical thoughts. it didnt help him, and didnt help the current situation. "Silly..."

His heart had begun to hammer rapidly against his chest, making him feel dizzy and light headed the icky feeling that crept over his entire body wasn't helping either. He felt dirty, and that he was. Grime covering most of his skin, his clothes were stained beyond repair, and this didn't upset him much, but it meant he would need new clothes. His gaze drifted along the camp, his thighs shaking as the pushed away from his chest. He let his shoulders drop, the tensity of his muscles dropping as he forced himself to relax. Feminine hips swaying to the side as he pushed himself onto his side, and then up onto his weak knee'd legs. Clumsily he stood, frail figure shaking heavily in the low light of early morning. Hands raising to block the light that filtered through the tree's. The scene was quite Beautiful, a light mist filtered through the bushes and along the ground, the embers of last night's campfire crackling silently in the background. and the sound of running water could be heard off in the distance, and a thought came to him, he needed to clean up. But he didnt really feel safe undressing with so many people around, he shook his head heavily, letting out a soft sigh that barely escaped his lips. "Damn...Might as well"

He stood silently as he looked about the camp a final time, eyes adjusting on every ones face as his gaze passed them by. He would remember them, that is if he left them. He noticed that some were awake and fully talking to one another, with that he tried to his best to slip away silently towards the sound of the water, his feet fumbling against the patchy terrain. His hand reaching out several times to stable himself against a tree or against the ground. It wasn't all that graceful, and he made more sound then he had been intending to make. Actually he would've like it if he had made no noise. But with the taste of bile in the back of his throat, it was hard to focus at all, the taste made him gag once again, but alas there was nothing in his stomach. so the only sound that was produced was that of dry
retching, followed by soft coughs and whimpering.

Within a few moments he came to the front of the water, not noticing the girl that was currently in the water. His legs shivered heavily at the thought of getting into the cold water. He whimpered again, his hands fumbling down towards the hem of his shirt, pulling the cotton up and off his skin, lifting it as far as his belly button. Revealing soft and supple skin, a gentle form Accentuated by wide hips and a thin waist, although his hands stopped lifting instantly as his eyes raised and noticed the girl. A incredibley high pitched squeak emitted from Einua's lips, his hands flushing the shirt back down against his body as quickly as he had pulled it up. It was only his belly. it was only skin that he showed. He tried to reassure himself as his face flushed red with embarrassment. "I UHM...uh.....sorry, i didnt notice...that there as someone else here...s..sorry" He stammered, his voice stuttering and cracking as he spoke. his gaze dropping down shyly and his heart thumping rapidly against the small of his breast. As he looked up again, he noticed....that she was in the water with all of her clothes on. Which Einua found quite odd, and realized he could've done the same. Meekly he rubbed at his cheek, which was still stained with his blood, actually most of his body was stained red, black and brown. From mud, blood and whatever else found itself staining his pale skin.

As always, Jess was alert, waiting on the group ahead to move on so she could proceed. Her ready state caused an even greater spook when a voice called out to her from nearby. Jumping up, she spun around, re-actively pulling her right arm from her pocket, the heavy hand of ice pointing it's monstrous claws toward the strange figure, clearly disproportionate from the girls thin body. She almost cursed herself for revealing it, but considering what the hooded woman called her, it seemed she already had a well-founded suspicion. "Was she spying on me!?" Jess questioned herself, thinking back to just a moment earlier.

From beneath the shadow of her own hood, hair tucked underneath it as to reveal as little as possible, she stared at the possible assailant, pale lips clearly visible. "That's close enough." She half-threatened as the woman approached, glancing between her and the trees around for any possible group she was with.
Cautiously, Jessica listened to the robed individual. "The group of abnorms?" She repeated what the woman had said in her head, if she was after them, surely she had reinforcements.

"Hidden?" Jess repeated her name as if asking it. Clearly she wasn't born 'Hidden', and even if she was, Jess wasn't about to trust her with her own, especially now that she knew her name could be on some list. "Ice is fine." She stated, mentioning what the stranger had previously referred to her as. Without thinking, she began to rant about the group. "That lot seem to be growing by the hour, so easy to trust anyone." She soon snapped into realisation however. "Deal?" True, perhaps giving away some information about them could get the heat off of her, really she didn't care what happened to them, but if she was the cause of it... Well... Somehow that was different.

Taking her other hand out, she brought them down slightly in an attempt to appear more cooperative, whilst remaining ready to react. "I'm only waiting for them to move on, I know nothing a hunter would be interested in." She stated, assuming the stranger's reason for being here. Despite trying to appear calm, she couldn't help but have her eyes wander intensely to her surroundings, making sure she wasn't about to get jumped, glancing back and forth from her possible route of escape, the stream just a few meters away. "And I doubt you have anything that I need." She stated, looking back toward the stranger.

Awakening to the rumble and cloud of dust, Jackson awoke with a start. Thankfully any dust had not gotten into his system due to wearing his mask last night. Jackson had slept with his mask on that night to help him sleep. For some reason it helped him fall asleep and stay asleep as a safe haven. The sunlight filtered in through his lens' as he opened his eyes. He was not the first to wake up but was one of the last. Standing up and stretching his arms and legs, Jackson groaned as the awakening stiffness was ejected from him. He then stood up and took note of his surroundings. Once again, he noticed several others awake such as Patrick, Sera, Vira, and Lucas so he went over to the campfire at the mention of coffee. His muffled voice was back due to the mask and he spoke, "Yeah Patrick I'd greatly appreciate some coffee.

Keiji had slept through the night without incident. He woke up suddenly, however, when he heard Patrick shout "incoming". He opened his eyes and sat up, confused. "What is it, Pa-" He didn't finish his statement, as his mouth was suddenly caked with dirt and dust. He began coughing violently while crawling over to the river blindly. What even happened? Soon enough he felt the water's edge, so he stopped and splashed some into his eyes to clear out the dirt. Once they were clear, he gurgled water to remove the dirt caking his mouth. With his vision and clean mouth returned, he looked back to see what caused the dust cloud. Seeing Scarlet in a crater, he assumed it was her, but he wasn't in the mood to take to her about it. Instead he looked back into the water and noticed his hair was no longer black. Due to the dust, it was a light shade of brown.

Tearing his eyes away from the water, Keiji realized he'd forgotten about their mystery guest. Looking over, he watched as they took the food from Diance, only to throw it back up. Diance, confused, was about to pick up the vomit and give it back to them. It was still the food, after all. Keiji rushed over. "Diance, no! Leave it there!" She looked up at him, hands inches away, then, ignoring what she had been previously doing, waddled over to Keiji. He sighed and picked her up. "Good." Diance's charge had gotten up and headed towards the water, causing her to squirm in his arms. "Leave them be, you're done guarding them for now. Just stay with me." He didn't really want to put her away yet, so he carried to the water, a little further away from their unknown abnorm. There he could rinse out his hair. "Help me wash this dust out." He dunked his hair into the river and, together, Keiji and Diance began the task of turning Keiji's hair back to its natural black color.

Snow
muw7.gif

Snow mumbled softly as the camp woke up around her. She was warm and comfortable having always been used to sleeping on the ground. No noise woke her as she gently breathed in and out, not even Vira’s yelling or Scarlett’s crater. Snow had always been a very very deep sleeper.
What finally did awake her was the smell of the coffee. Her tiny button nose twitched and she slowly opened her eyes with a yawn as she stretched out like a kitten, groaning. She sat up and stared at the ground with blank eyes, not yet fully awake as she licked her lips and blinked. Her vision was blurry and the more she woke the more it came back into focus. She turned that gaze to the smell that had woken her. Coffee. Snow remembered the officials who drank it in her village… hmm what a rare strange thing to find. She got up and beat the dirt out of her blanket before folding it.
She padded over on bare feet to Patrick and handed it to him, silently sitting down between him and Vira. Snow didn’t like her aggravating voice this early in the morning… but she had hunted for them before.
“Miss… I um… I um a-am really th-thankful for y-your hunt last night… b-but don’t yell at Patrick please… It’s r-really um… not… well… this early into the day I mean… I am s-sure he will get your coffee b-because you got him food… so maybe… be… less… um that is… well… just less… angry? Maybe?”
Snow’s eyes looked up at Vira, rose meeting rust. She bit her chewed up lip and inched further into herself, trembling from the imagined situations in her head at what Vira would do to her now… oh god oh god oh god. Why couldn’t she have kept her mouth shut? She knew why… Patrick was too nice of a person to be yelled at by miss grumpalumpagus.

"A..also... um... He's not that old... or.. well he doesn't seem that old... he is older... then us... but..." Shut up Snow. Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up.

Patrick's eyebrows raised at the young woman's demands. He locked eyes with her over his coffee cup as he finished his second helping. He didn't like her attitude, or her language for that matter, but what worried him was her eyes. Those eyes, so full of anger and distrust, reminded him of nearly all of the gangers he had fought over the years.

Like them her aggressive nature stemmed from a life of always looking over they're shoulders in a world ruined by corrupt leaders, who had decided that money and power were worth more than the future of they're race.

The old man inhaled through his nose and opened his mouth to respond, only to be interrupted by Jackson and Snow as they apparently wanted to take him up on his offer of coffee. He motioned for Jackson to help himself which, if you knew how much Patrick loved coffee, was a pretty clear indicator something was wrong. He then turned back to the woman locking eyes with her again, it's ok Snow, I'm old enough to not let a little yelling get under my skin, thank you for defending me though, he said softly never looking away from Ms loud mouth.

I do have a few questions for the young lady though, he said standing and moving to his pack, first are you a betting woman. He dug into his pack and pulled forth a bottle of whiskey and a lock box with a heavy duty lock on it. He sat both items on the ground and after a few quick turns the lock box flipped open to reveal Patrick's life savings.

The box was stacked with what must have been a couple hundred WG bank notes stacked neatly in a pile, and a bulging bag of coins that most of the outlying towns used for currency. Patrick was a man of few wants and he had saved up a pretty hefty amount over the years.

Because if you are I'd be willing to bet you all of this, that you can't take this cigarette from me before it goes out, he stated while slipping a cigarette into his lips.

The second question loud mouth
, he said his tone growing far more forceful all the sudden, is what on Earth made you so afraid and arrogant at the same time!

For quite a while, a lone wanderer covered in rags had detected a large oresence of abnormals. Perhaps some possible acolytes? He wondered to himself as he wandered. His feet decayed the ground wherever he walked, leaving behind dirt and withering green as footprints, the only evidence of his arrival. To him, of course, it was never a bother, and just was a reminder of his beautiful gift. As he walked along a lonely riverbank he stared into the water. Not too long ago, standing in water would cause him great pain... But everything was dull to him now, he had already taken whatever sensations that pain had given him. He closed his brittle eyelids and thought of where he had come from... An endless desert. Horrid heat. How he missed it.

With not much more thought, he stepped foot into the river. As usual, some of his decaying matter started sloughing off of his bones. Trivial to him.

Yet, he could sense the presence of the abnormals even stronger now. With his eyes still closed, he nearly submerged himself in the water as he walked, only his eyes above the water. Ragged clothes managed to maintain most of his skin, but the excess disease and matter floated down into the river, tainting it...

Whoever was down stream would see a steady stream of a horrid brown and black sludge, emanating from a rock like object slowly bobbing up and down as it approached.

The wanderer opened his eyes, looking up to greet whatever abnormals he would encounter.

Of all the things to wake Lucca up, it's the incessant yelling of that black haired lady, constantly angry, always making harsh remarks, and also, if he may be so bold, a bit of a bitch, actually, scratch that, a whole lot of a bitch. Her voice sends shiver down his spine and the memory of her slapping him, the paralyzed, defenseless him, was in his nightmares. Instantly, he snapped awake, breaking out of his blanket cocoon in a daze. In panic, he looked around, not quite sure what he is supposed to be looking for yet he looked for it anyways with terror in his fast beating heart. But once his heartbeat settles, he lays down once more, realizing that the beatings won't come, that it was all a dream, and that angry black haired lady wasn't yelling at him, but someone else.

Eventually, he had to drag his heavy body from the ground, the ground was very comfortable, yes, and perhaps not even the blood song could make him separate from it, but he had to go, for he had heard the nature's call, a call that his fleshly dam could not hold back. Hastily, he folded up the blankets and lay them where he rest, intending to return them once he was done with his business most private, and once more, he travels upstream, for that discreet spot he had used late in the night previously to relieve himself.

Once there, upon that spot he was once at, he hesitated. After all, what if someone is down there, using the water? Now fully awake, he wasn't sure if he wanted to do something so uncouth. Perhaps he should go to the trees? No, he highly doubt the tree would like it, and if the trees doesn't like it then he may just incur the wrath of the plant lady, and that's the last thing he wants. Then should he travel downstream instead? But will he make it in time? He had already been holding it back for a while now.

Lucca looks into the distance, hoping to find an answer, and there he certainly found something, though unfortunately for him, it was not answer, it was a girl, in the nude, apparently bathing and is currently washing her long hair, her fair slender back completely exposed. And upon her neck, he saw it, the tattoo, and he, in his time as a Bounty Hunter, had learned of it. It was a slave tattoo, marking one's statues as a slave within a gang, and while he had heard that there are variations, he does not know the specifics. But he did know that he had taken many of them, turning them in as bounties as they were working for gangs, carrying out their orders. To Lucca, the best thing he could have done was turn them in and hope that the WG would help them reform. But after hearing about them yesterday, he couldn't help but feel horrified at what he had done. And while he's not sure exactly what the WG does to them, nor is he sure of what was said were true, he was once again reminded of his own irresponsibility, to hand those that needed help to others he hardly knew and let them be someone else's problem. Sure, Lucca knew that he couldn't have done much, but knowing what what he ended up doing may be much, much worse, he couldn't help but feel horrible.

With his mind in thoughts, Lucca wasn't watching his surroundings, he just wanted to leave, he didn't want to involve himself with this girl. He just wants to dig himself a hole and never leave. Truth? Lies? Who cares!? Just let this stinking world rot! Not that there's anything I could do about it either way. Such thoughts were in Lucca's head, distracting him as he trips over an extruding root and tripped over, slamming his body into the ground with an audible thud.

"Oh gosh darn it! Who put a root here?" he said reflexively, even though he really, really shouldn't.

But as he got up, he caught a scent coming from further upstream, the stench of death and rot. Lucca had dealt with death before, but this smell was much more extreme, certainly not from a recently deceased corpse. Urgently, he got up and too a gander towards the source and saw a body of disgusting, dark sludge flowing downstream towards them.

"What the hell......." he was speechless, but soon realized that he had to act now, "Get out of the water! Get out quick!" he then yelled towards the naked girl, hoping that she would listen to him.

Ryuji Nakamoto

The riverside was as calming as ever, especially when one needed to think. "I should probably leave the group for now." He muttered as he kicked a stone towards the river, the sound of it somehow miraculously skipping once before sinking into the current never once crossing his mind. He was worried about his other self. That terrifying fox form that was only held back by a simple mask. It was obvious to Ryuji that the fox had more power than he himself had. If Hifumi had struck him with that attack, he'd have lost the arm for sure. "Gah, why am I so weak?" He growled under his breath before punching a nearby tree, Kore would likely talk to him about that when he returned to camp, but he wouldn't answer. They flirted last night and he went about saving her from both her emotions and physical harm. She was a problem for him. He couldn't explain the truth to her without her looking terrified of him. He'd rather have her hate her than that. And for that matter telling Kore would likely mean telling Snow too. She wouldn't feel safe in the group. No, it was best for him to-

"Get out of the water! Get out quick!" Ryuji heard the yelling of the hunter from the night before. Looking up Ryuji saw the girl that he gave the food to last night along with a great amount of sludge and slime heading her way. Even in the apocalypse that wasn't common. Damnit. He cursed as he immediately had the mask on his face, leaping over stones and running with everything he had. He slid to a stop along the shore, just to where Lilac was, pulling her onto the shore and covering her form with his body while having her face the water so he'd have a legitimate reason for why he just forced her to do something after his comments last night. Thankfully his height made it where he could see over her easily. With a flick of his wrist he opened the box of throwing needles on his arm and pulled three out, closing it back up with his thumb. I have 44 left including the ones in my hand. If this turns out to be an enemy, better make them count. Ryuji wasn't sure what this black muck would bring, but he knew that he'd have to profusely apologize to the woman in his arms when it was over.

Just as the sludge got nearer,Ryuji felt a severe amount of irritation in his scar. The damn stuff normally never bothered him. Sure it was constantly decaying from his master's Necrotic Touch abnormality, but after years, Ryuji was used to it. No this sludge was definitely not normal. More than likely this was some kind of abnorm, but that also meant the people around him were liabilities. "Kid, stay back. You don't have your guns or anything, you'd be a hindrance in a fight. Go warn the others at camp that we may have company." Ryuji's voice was harsh, calculating, and precisely on point. The other thing was making sure the Lilac in his arms kept her dignity, Ryuji hadn't looked at her form and he wanted to make sure that nobody else did either. Hifumi had taught him that seeing a woman naked was seeing her at her most vulnerable and that was something reserved for other women and special men. Ryuji slipped Lilac behind him, still trying to cover her. "Get your clothes, find a safe spot, dress and head for camp. Depending on what happens I'll come find you okay?" Ryuji could tell he was fighting what the fox inside him wanted again. He'd have to meditate tonight as well at the rate he was going.

It happened in an instant, and before he know it, the fox guy just flew it and safely whisked the girl away from the water, taking her in the protection of his slender yet muscular arms. For a moment there, Lucca thought that he was pretty cool, even more so with his wet, muscular body glistening under the morning sun. But the moment quickly passed.

"Kid, stay back. You don't have your guns or anything, you'd be a hindrance in a fight. Go warn the others at camp that we may have company." said the fox guy to him, which he didn't really appreciate, being called a kid and all that, especially when they don't look like they're age is that far apart from each other.

"Yeah sure, because shooting at that thing is going to help somehow." said Lucca before running off, having intended to ward the others anyways, whether he's being told to or not.

However, there was one difficulty, Lucca's dam was at it's limit, he knees became weak and now there was no way he could run fast enough to reach the other and warn them. But the fox guy and the girl is counting on him, and now he knew there was only one thing he could do.

Without a single wasted movement, Lucca turned towards a tree. He remembered that the tree lady had said that she had heard him, and then related back at him the details of his conversation with others as proof of his abnormality, and seeing how her powers involve controlling trees and plants, Lucca was almost certain that she could hear things from the trees. But how will he be sure that she'll hear him? After all, there are a multitude of trees in this forest and he couldn't be sure that she'll be listening in from just any one. But, there is one way. Lucca had heard that plants in general do not like hot or warm water, that it actually does harm to them.

"This'll get her attention." said Lucca as he pulled down his zippers, "I'm sorry tree, but this is the only way."

And there he relieved himself, and as he does he grabbed on to the sides of the tree as if it's the shoulders of a human, and he yelled at it.

"Tree lady! There's a- something, something terrible, something really bad is flowing downstream! If anyone is in the water, get them out! If anyone is drinking the water, stop them! Just keep away from the river! If you can hear me, make this tree do something!"

Lucca could only hope it works, and the the tree lady doesn't get too mad at him, he had done what he could.

Vira

The man from last night -the one who tried to chastise her to make her 'see' whatever his revelatory nonsense was- came up beside her. He had his mask on this time, but she knew it was the same person. Vira glared at him, while he stood beside her to get some coffee as well. She still did not appreciate his dumb words, and heck, couldn't even remember them anymore, but that didn't stop them from making her mad.

Another one of the rats crawled out from the menagerie. Snow. She came up, groggy from last night's sleep. She immediately opened her trap and began to talk back to Vira. That irked the darkhaired lady to no end, and her eye visibly twitched. "Shut your yapper floozy," Vira spat, not impressed. Why did her danger radar ping this white-haired chick so badly?? She had one of the most non-aggressive, non-assertive, pitiful personalities that Vira had ever come across! She was like a weak-willed flower liable to wilt! So not threatening! It even caused the danger meter to lower for Snow, just talking to her. "Your first words to me, are criticism today. Yet you haven't earned speaking to me that way. So quiet. I don't need your weak, pitiful words."

Turning up to Patrick, she expected coffee to find its way into her hand. "OH?" Vira sneered, cocking her head. "You're thanking the little tart for 'defending' you? Does big bad old man need a little girl to defend him? How sweet. And how pathetic." He noted how she appeared to be a 'betting woman', which she really wasn't. Or rather, she never really made bets she didn't think she could instantly win. The flattery from calling her a 'young woman' wasn't enough for her to want to play his little game. Yet... he withdrew something that caught Vira's attention. Coinage and moneyage, two things that she wanted desperately. Oh, and of course the booze. Don't forget the fucking booze! All that caught her attention heavily, Vira feeling herself so drawn to it, that she was considering this 'bet' he was talking about. The chick was actually headed to the town over for those reasons, money and alcohol. She needed both, expecting to find work and a new tavern both in the next town over. Ha! She wouldn't need to continue this train of thought though, if she won this silly bet of his!

Smiling, she listened to what it was, narrowing her eyes at the cigarette. "I don't like smokers," she noted aloud foully. As with all things, they reminded her of the past.. "Grrr..." she growled at his last words and 'loud mouth'. "I have a name you know!?" she spat, but didn't say what it was. "Show some damn respect! -Ha! 'Afraid', 'arrogant'? Well, maybe a teensy bit arrogant! Hrr.. As for afraid! I'm never afraid." Tilting her head to the other side, she ended with, "That answer your questions grandpa? Look, all I wanted was some coffee, but y'know what? Sure, whatever. I'll take you up on your stupid fucking bet. Prepare yourself. I hope you don't sprain a hip, hahahahaha!"

Vira felt a harsh tingle, and her attention snapped away. "Huh?" she managed to breath, feeling a weird ominous presence enter the vicinity of her range. What was that? It felt dark and black... like something was decaying, but still present. It made her hair stand on end. In some ways, it felt like.. Him. It couldn't be, though... it wasn't nearly as horrifying.

Hidden

KSaoLn7.png

That was not what Hidden wanted to hear. Not one bit. For a moment she had to recollect herself, as not to appear angry. The other girl lowered her threatening posture some, though, so that was a visual start that this could go well. Shaking her head, only really visibly by the hood twisting and turning, she chuckled softly, "No no no. That isn't how this works. Come on now, where's your manners? Be polite now. What's your name?"

Regardless of this stranger's hostility -which made sense, given both the era, and the fact that Hidden came from no where, spooking this person- Hidden still had on a calm, pleasant face. She continued to interact with 'Ms. Ice', obviously having her own reasons. "Hm? Are they now?" She appeared to think a second, then went on, "Well! That's good, yes? It'll help you to integrate easily!"

Hidden couldn't help but lightly laugh, holding up her hand to gently cover her mouth. "Ah ahhaha.. you think I'm.. Yes, interesting. Oh, don't be quite so dismissive!" Arms extended out of her cape, holding various things. There was food, small bottles of pills, a clean shirt. "See? I actually possess many things. I think you'll find I actually possess a lot of things that you would find interesting, and that you would find useful. Now, like I said, I wish to make a deal with you. I will give you anything you need, supplies, fresh clothing, food, medicine... Hehe.. though, medicine may require something extra of you. I'm sure you understand! I have access to so so much, and some of it can be yours. All I require -" she leaned forward, snickering, "you still haven't told me your name- is for you two spy on that group of Abnorms. -They've become fairly interesting to me fairly quickly. Then let me know what you've discovered about them. That's it. I'll give you whatever we decide here. And... that's it."

She shrugged nonchalantly, "See? Not so tough. Is it?"

And just in case 'Ms. Ice' wasn't convinced, replacing her hands back in her cloak for a second, to hide away the bargaining chips, she raised her left hand. For another bargaining chip. "If those don't interest you, then perhaps..?" She waved that left hand, and the ice formations that grotesquely grew on Jess's hands suddenly withered away, melting off of her. Leaving her lovely skin, and hands, revealing the human underneath. "Hm? Interested?" After her question, the ice grew back on Jess, covering her in her weird icy claw-like formations again.

-= KAIA WINTERS =-
Fugitive | Abnorm | The River

Kiroshiven Kiroshiven Syphe Syphe @EveryoneAtTheCamp

It was so tranquil, Kaia nearly forgot about the turmoil of the previous night and the haphazard group. Right now, it was just her and the river. The current rushed past her slender legs and she took a deep breath of the frothy mist it created by beating against the boulders in its path. Kaia couldn’t remember the last time she could just breathe. The ugly black reminder on the inside of her wrist caught her eye, and she scowled at it with everything she could muster. How could they? How could they play with the lives of abnormals as property and pleasure? Letting out a puff of air from her lungs that she’d been holding in, she rubbed her wrist gingerly with the thumb of her right hand. The only reason she hadn’t tried to escape sooner was Skylar, the only family she had left, and the fact that…she just had no where else to go. Not to mention the Lord of Fire made it quite…difficult to leave. Even now that she was out of his chambers, she still felt under his thumb. She could still remember the last time he….no. She refused to think about that now. She ran her fingers through her wet locks, causing a new cascade of water droplets to glide down her pale, exposed skin. One day, she’d be truly free of him. She and Skylar both…

“Oh gosh darn it! Who put a root here?”

Whipping around, she gasped and instinctively pulled her tube top up a little higher to ensure her chest was covered, though in consequence revealing more of her stomach beneath the water. Her mind snapped to attention, now 100% alert and scanning every inch of the riverbank in search of an intruder, immediately relieved that she’d decided to at least keep on her bare essentials instead of stripping completely. You could never be too careful, and this just proved that fact. However, she still felt extremely exposed and out in the open, something she normally avoided at all costs. Cursing softly under her breath, she dipped down beneath the river’s surface as much as possible without going completely under. Instead of answering the stranger’s call, she began looking for the best escape route. She should have left at dawn like she had originally planned! How could she be such an idiot… If anyone had looked closely, they may have noticed an extremely thin layer of ice gradually forming on the surface of the water around her where the water was still and away from the current.

“Get out of the water! Get out quick!” the voice suddenly hollered again, this time with a strong sense of urgency. Assuming it was a trap, Kaia ducked behind a boulder, her breathing labored as her mind raced to find a solution to this problem. Kaia let out a high-pitched shriek as she was then abruptly snatched from the water by a pair of strong arms and dragged to the shore. Before she knew it, a dark form loomed over her, blocking out the morning light. For a split second, Kaia was paralyzed, her eyes locked onto the body above her as her mind flashed back to…him. She was back in his quarters, helpless beneath him as he closed in. Snapping out of her memory, she attempted to struggle her way out of his grip, but he had her pinned against the sand. “You’ll never take me back, you hear me?!” she screeched, this time her voice lacking its original spunk which was replaced by pure terror, “I’ll never go back to him!!” Then that’s when she saw it. That familiar mask…the one that looked like the face of a fox. She halted her fight, her half exposed chest heaving up and down as fast as her lungs needed the oxygen. During this time, her left wrist was facing upward, revealing the tattoo for all to see, which thankfully no one else seemed to be around except her new captor. You…??” she started in disbelief, “What are you-?!” Her sentence was cut short as she looked to the river, at last seeing the horrid, black sludge careening right through the part of the river where she’d just been bathing only seconds before. Her violet eyes widened as it finally clicked in her brain what had just occurred. The red head…he’d…saved her? Or at the very least pulled her out of harm’s way. She lay there stunned for a good several seconds, her mouth agape in astonishment. She didn’t even know his name. Not to mention he had the opportunity to ogle her exposed form, yet his gaze was fixed on the potential threat, a muscled arm crossed over her so as to keep his own form sheltering hers. He barked orders at who she assumed to be her peeping tom from earlier to go get help.

This time when he attempted to move her, Kaia reluctantly allowed him to…just for this one time. "Get your clothes, find a safe spot, dress and head for camp. Depending on what happens I'll come find you okay?" he instructed firmly, still avoiding looking directly at her. Kaia’s lips parted to speak back with some pissed off retort, but she decided otherwise considering her current vulnerability. She was still practically naked for crying out loud, she wasn’t going to tempt fate. And as much as she wouldn’t admit it to herself…she was grateful for his concern. And his respect for her image. He, of course, would never know that. She’d been under the control of a strict master, serving his every whim, for three years. After she’d escaped, she vowed never to obey another man’s command again. Though right now…unfortunately it seemed like she didn’t have a choice in addition to the little voice inside of her…the voice representing the part of her that had broken…broken to Logan’s will and accepted her fate that all she’d ever be was a slave. That little voice screamed at her, louder than ever, to obey. He was the authority here in this situation, not her. Gritting her teeth, she gave in and grudgingly did as she was told. She nodded meekly in response to his command, then rushed to do his bidding. She hated how her body remembered this kind of work so easily, like muscle memory. Running about, attending to her master’s every wish to avoid punishment. She snatched her half damp clothing from the rocks and before she could convince herself to run away, she found herself racing toward the camp instead, her sky blue hair and water droplets streaming behind her. She only stopped once to swiftly slip back into her clothes.

Once she’d reached the camp, she immediately looked for Sera, but of course the one person she felt she could talk to wasn’t there. And she didn’t like her alternatives. Clearing her throat, she gathered her courage anyway. “There’s something down at the river!” she sputtered breathlessly to anyone who would listen, brushing her wet hair out of her eyes, “L-like some sort of sludge. It seems dangerous. It could be an abnorm. The red head’s down there, but he may need help.” That very sentence stabbed her pride. Useless…why don’t I have an ability? Why am I so helpless? Her hands balled into fists as she waited for a response.

Beginning to feel a bit numb from being in the cold water for a while, Sera began to move out the river, when she heard someone behind her give off a high-pitched squeak. Turning around, she saw the girl from before, the one held in the arms of some sort of creature (assumed it was a mutant under the command of one of the members of the group). She was covered in all sorts of muck and guck, and a good bathe would do her plenty of good. "Ah no worries, I was just leaving... huh?" Sera froze, a dreadful feeling suddenly coming over her. It was unlike anything she had felt before, but her instincts never acted up without a reason. She'd be long dead if it did. Spinning around, rapidly taking in her surroundings, Sera noticed a black sludge-y substance bearing down on her. Without thinking, Sera marched as fast as she could, being waist-deep in water, to the girl that was next to her and by the waist, lifted her up. People were beginning to shout now, referencing the danger that sludge proposed. Straining her arms, Sera fought against the currents to get to shore as fast as she could with the girl in her arms.

"Sorry! But bath-time's over!" Sera apologized as she finally set foot on dry ground. Panting lightly, she set the girl down on her feet before leading her by the arm towards the campsite, where some had been gathering. It seemed like everyone's awake by now. "Guys, I think it's just about time we get going!"

Snow
original.gif

Snow bit her lip as Patrick thanked her. She hadn’t said what she had thinking she could be a help… really it was only to show the man she would be on his side against this aggravating woman. Snow’s want for the coffee was diminished as the two squared off. Vira was like fire. Demanding, hot headed, rash, cruel, and strangely all of those traits made her interesting as well. Snow had always loved watching fire dance and twirl, enjoyed its warmth… but Vira was a raging inferno ready to burn down anyone who got to close. Fire made snow melt so maybe this was why the two didn’t get along…

Patrick made a move, taking out his savings and Snow’s eyes widened. “P-patrick no…” She whispered under her breath, worried for the both of them. Sure it was just taking a cigarette but… well if Patrick won then Vira would be even more unbearable. If she did… same thing. Vira was someone Snow should just avoid… especially because she called her names too...floozy? Snow was not a floozy… a small pout crossed her lips as she felt the pricks of her thorns poking through as Vira insulted him for thanking Snow. She bit her tongue till it stung to not talk back to the warrior. Show respect? Ha… she was just getting the respect she had earned. But still… even if Snow disliked her, she didn’t want to accidentally prick her with her thorns.

And she was right between them as well, a strategic spot because she didn’t want the rude woman to ruin her and Patrick and Sera and Jackson’s morning. But now she was too close to people… and she could not lose any more serious amounts of blood at the moment.

She scooted back chewing on the skin to the side of her thumb as she looked at Patrick, nodding to give him her support and a kind smile before scurrying away. She had just stood and turned around when her blood screamed as is rushed around in her ears. She fell to her knee’s holding them as Lucas’s warning cry went out… oh no… Lucas, Ryu…

Snow stood up running towards the river's edge to see Ryu saving a girl from the water and Lucas… Lucas… um… well um… relieving himself. Snow felt her toes curl and hair frizz as she blushed hard, just embarrassed from seeing that as she quickly with a snap turned around to see the water… oh no.

Black sludge was moving down. Oh how… disgusting. She held her nose at the smell of decay as Ryu moved with his needles to fight. Oh no… what if he was hurt??

But the new boy… girl? Ugh Snow would think of her as a girl. The new girl was close to the river… too close. Had she not smelled the scent of decay? Seen the sludge?

“Hey! Hey back away from the river! New girl!” Snow bit her lip, calling out to Einua, not sure if it was getting through. Hopefully… maybe... Oh thank god Sera was saving her. She watched as the two made it out and Snow could breathe easier. Sera was someone Snow could always rely on. She wished that maybe one day she would be as strong as her.

Snow’s attention was on the sludge when she saw… a figure? Oh it was an Abnorm. That was why her blood was singing like crazy, wanted to blood bond and gain what seemed like death’s protection. Snow took a step towards the river, the sirens call in her head so strong. She shook it, grinding her teeth as she kept her eyes closed and put her hands over her ears.

“It’s an abnorm!” She yelled out for everyone. She knew it was, they probably did as well… but they should still be confirmed in their beliefs. “Ryu! Lucas! Be careful!! It’s Powerful!!” She screamed, wanting the two people who she counted as friends even if one was closed off and the other resented her, to be safe.

Also not do anything stupid.

Keiji had his ears below the water so he only heard muffled noises as he and Diance worked to clear away the dust plaguing his hair. Shortly after, he whipped his head out of the water, sprinkling it around him. Swiping the wet hair from his face, he only started hearing the shouting coming from the others. But what's wrong with the water? Keiji looked back into the water, where Diance had been in to help him, then looked both upstream and downstream in hopes of finding what it was that sent everyone into a panic. The black and brown oozey sludge drifting along with the current caught his attention, and he immediately dragged Diance out of the water and held her in his arms. "Uhh... We're done washing out my hair." He pet her on the head, relaxing as he felt her soft, smooth skin. He then stood up and backed away from the water, keeping his eyes on it the entire time. "What even is that stuff?" He looked at it with disgust, and maybe a bit of fear, too.

@TheGroup

"Ah no worries, I was just leaving... huh?" The lady in front of him seemed so calm and reserved, her gaze drifting over him slowly, this only made his face flush with more color. Although this was overridden by the unbearable feeling of danger, the back of his palms tingling and the back of his eyes lighting on fire. It felt like danger, like a fight. The glowing in his chest grew bright quickly, the thudding against his chest becoming loud and stronger then ever before. It was like the beating of drums, loud against his temples, and against his heart. The thrill of opposing a threat, of opposing someone that meant him and many others danger, he attempted to stand, to wade out in the water and face forward. Confront the danger head on, his blood boiled for this, for this feeling. like a calling to danger that had been given to him by his ancestor's. Truly, it was his mothers blood and soul that Influenced him to be this way, her soul was that of a fighter. Nary it didn't always show, and wasn't really good for Einua, but it flared in the back of his eyes. “Hey! Hey back away from the river! New girl!” The feint sound of a girls voice rang out to him, catching him off guard enough for the other girl, who had been in the water mere moments before. She thrusted forward, grasping at him which caused his focus to disperse and the call of the fight fade.

Within seconds he was lifted up, his gentle form being whipped upwards in a rather rough fashion. causing him to let out a soft Squeak and whimper of protest. He didn't weigh much, so it must have been easy for her to hoist him up and onto the land. The recognizable heat of embarrassment flushing to his cheeks appeared again, causing him to shake gently in protest to the odd thoughts. These thoughts only grew louder as his hand was taken by the girl, her momentum pulling him along. His head turning back towards the river, pupils focusing in on the sludge. And something in the center of his chest protested against being pulled away, the glow growing stronger once again. so bright that it was casting shadows of his and the lady's forms against the ground "
h...hey, s...stop. W...we need to" But one glance up at Sera's face, the care in her eyes, shut him the hell up. A knot catching in his throat as he tried to speak again, heavy was the burden of running away and being protected. But this lady made it feel like a privilege, his soul calming to her touch. Maybe it was just him, not many ever truly tried to protect him, and growing up without a mother did a number on him. Causing him to become infatuated with those who acted with care and concern in the hearts.

He resigned to being pulled away from the danger, albeit begrudgingly.
“It’s an abnorm!” He turned as he stumbled forward with sera holding has hand. gazing at the little girl that spoke, her red eyes and white hair intriguing in the least. and something about her called out to her. Something that felt like power, shaking his head as he heard he speak up again. “Ryu! Lucas! Be careful!! It’s Powerful!!” This caused him to become distressed, his resistance against sera's grasp increased slightly. His visage turning to face the river again, the memory of the call running through his head, through his veins. He yearned for it, to protect. But he was being resigned to being the protected, which he wasn't necessarily used to...at all. And he didnt really know how to voice it either, to voice that he wanted to stand and fight. He had to keep his eyes down, if he saw her eyes again, his spirit would calm. Which wasn't a bad thing, but the thrum that riddled in his chest, and the beating of the drums in his head made him feel alive, like he meant something. His fist's clenched at the thought, the taste of bile still sticking in the back of his throat, and the smell of death wafting in the air. The river had now turned a dark black and brown, and the water no longer looked like it flowed smoothly. The water looked thick and chunky and bubbled as if it were boiling, what could cause this? Cause the stench of death, and create such panic between so many people.

They were all abnorm's and yet their fear drove them to move away from the danger, was he the only one that yearned to face such things head on. Yet again he found himself different then most, dissociation seemed to be an reoccurring emotion. The hollow feeling that came with believing oneself had no place and could not find themselves within others. But yet, this inspired him, it meant every person was different, unique. Even if they acted the same way to danger. His eyes flitted across the group again, and within this moment, he decided he would stay with them. They all acted instantly, and their concern was focused on one another. Logically it was a smart choice, but emotionally...he knew these people could be kind, that he could trust them. Their reaction to a threat proved that, A smile splayed across his lips then. A safe haven of people...it felt like a dream. Shaking his head again, he focused in again. How would they deal with the current threat, if it was an abnorm....would he or she attack them, did it mean them harm? it didnt matter as long as they were prepared to fight. At least he hoped.

Amidst all of the commotion, the wanderer remained still in the river for a few moments longer. With his eyes still above water, they opened and stared, slowly switching at whoever was closest.

"Fear...?"

He pondered in his mind as he saw all the other figures running away from the river. Perhaps now was the time to introduce himself. Downstream, the black sludge began to dissolve, though now spreading and beginning to act as a dye, corrupting most of the water down below. The wanderer moved a muscle. Then a hand. Every time he put force in his bones, an audible crack could be heard while bubbles rose up to the surface of the tainted water. Yes, the wanderer could almost feel the pain of his excess skin dissolving, but everything was numb... What a waste of time, he thought.

With several more cracks, he reached his body over to the river bank, the sludge still coming off of him and spreading. While he moved, all those near him could see more of a horrendous appearance. His head was more of a bloody skull, with wriggling worms and squirming flesh exposed. The rest of his body was not much different, except for what seemed to be rug-like clothing covering his person. Once he made it to the bank, he reached a hand.... or a skeletal claw... up to grab the dirt and pull himself up. As soon as the wanderer made it onto his feet, he effortlessly stood up in a noble form. His arms were crossed around his chest, and his head was tilted upwards, as if expecting a royal welcome.

The wanderer slowly turned his head in this position, scanning coldly over the other abnormals. The wanderer opened his mouth, visible and rotting muscles stretching to reveal a black slug-like tongue. As one would expect from a zombie like appearance, the wanderer spoke in a scratchy, almost demonic voice.

"Greetings, pupils... I do not bear any harm."

His horrific facade betrayed his kind words. After that, he would spread his arms wide, fully revealing a strange branch in the shape of a staff in his right hand.

"I bring enlightenment. I am but a servant..."

The wanderer... thing... crosses his arms again, awaiting a response.

Ryuji Nakamoto

As soon as Lilac was gone Ryuji was aware of the sensation coursing through his right arm and along his chest. "Shit it's cold." He cursed as he felt his body healing, trying to undo the damage that Lilac must've done to give him that pain. He raced along beside the sludge all the way to the campsite as this dilapidated and decomposing figure rose out of the river. His scars twinging and burning as if this being called to the permanently dying flesh on his arm. "Enlightenment?" He hissed as he kept his back towards his travelling companions. "If it leads to looking like a corpse I think we'll pass. But if you're not here to kill then that's enough to not attack." Ryuji relaxed ever so slightly while still keeping his throwing needles in his left hand. The dead should stay that way it was only natural. With his guard still raised and the feeling of the fox inside him raging at his lack of action Ryuji turned back to check on the three people that he'd saved in the past 24 hours.

Snow looked terrified, but she'd also called out to him to warn him. That was enough to make him feel at ease. He wouldn't take off the mask and that meant he couldn't look at her or talk to her. Sorry Snow, this THING puts me on edge. Ryuji looked back to the zombie for a brief moment, intent to kill filled within his eyes as he moved through the crowd. "Lilac, it seems your safe," he smiled softly behind the fox mask to the girl before chiming in "and decent." Motioning to her clothes. "I'm glad that you're safe though." Ryuji nearly hugged the girl once more before remembering that this girl had glared daggers into his eyes the night before. With a swift turn he looked at the zombie again. He wanted to talk but he still was missing someone. Kore wasn't in the group either. And the kid hadn't gotten back to the campsite yet. "Damn it kid. I told you to run." Ryuji growled as he returned to the front of the group, not a word leaving his lips as he glared daggers into this new "tutor" within the group.

Scarlett O'Hare
Patrick and the others had taken her waking all uniquely, most just brushed it off though her new master made a joke. Scarlett didn't care though, her jerky was still missing! She scavenged around til she found the dirt caked packaging close to the thick brush, along with her spear-axe. "Breakfast." She giggled to herself as she tore into the bag again, eating like it was the last meal she'd get. The commotion around the fire didn't bother her as she munched away on the dry meal. But when the mention of another abnorm came into the mix, Scarlett leapt into action. A forceful push and she was within a few feet of the river her weapon in hand as she glared daggers at the rising bag of rotting flesh. "Evil." She hissed under her breath as she pointed the tip of the blade at him. Anything dead was bad news, Scarlett had learned that from past experiences. She wasn't going to lower her guard now.

Morgan Llewellyn

The bar had been cleaned, the tables were set and the bartender was at her station. That meant that it was time to open. Swinging open the doors, the tomboy smirked at the small crowd already forming. "Alright you bloodthirsty drunkards, come on in." She chuckled as the horde came marching in. Morgan was displeased to see the man from last night there though. "What do you want asshole?" He looked terrified as she scowled at the man. "You're not welcome here if you're going to start problems."

"Nothing of the sort. I just wanted to apologize." The man bowed. His apology was half-hearted. Morgan figured her power had sobered him up and Butch had a nice long "chat" with him. "I also won't tell what happened. Nobody'd believe me anyway. So, have a good day." He spoke quickly before running off. He must've been talking about her powers. Nobody would believe him. There were plenty of times when she'd touched Tanya with her bare hands, briefly, and the girl never showed a reaction. Another thing Morgan was thankful to Tanya for. Morgan knew she'd drained the girl's energy each time, but she just smiled through it.

"Welp, time to earn my keep." Turning around she already saw two of the regulars get into a fight over a seat. "Oi, do I need to come over there and educate you pricks on manners?!" She grumbled as she stormed into the bar to deal with the nuisances.
