Snow
i-would-be-running-at-high-speed-by-this-point.png

Snow looked at Sera as she led her away, each step back a comforting breath. Her blood stopped calling out so much and her eyes dropped a hue of their intense red. She followed with hurried steps after Sera, looking back at Ryu and Patrick. Even back at Kore. She hoped they stayed safe… that N'ghannyth was just a really creepy looking peaceful person. Snow knew she needed to be away and once they had travelled further, strangely with Vira since the woman had decided to ditch the group… and walked with the group leaving, her thorns went into her skin.

But this was not the end of Snow’s now very hectic morning. The new guy… guy? Girl. ...Guy… Girl… the new girl… the new person was making her senses ping again. She fidgeted, her rose pink red eyes meeting Einua’s as he stared at her. Snow did not enjoy that feeling… she moved closer to Sera, her blood sung to her softly, telling her of the power in that one. The new person spoke their name. Einua. Well that was a great help, could still be a girl or a guy. Ugh...

Snow’s eyes widened as his core started to shine brightly. Well that was not… usual… She sighed and glanced behind again, the images of who they left behind faint now. Would Kore be alright? Sure they did not have the best record for getting along… but Snow still liked her better then… the one who shall not be named or have your arm chopped off meany. Why was she so rude? Did she need a friend? A nap? Little children Snow had noticed always became very cranky when hungry or tired. Hmmm maybe Vira just needed a good meal and some sleep. And lots of booze… booze seemed to make her more tolerable.

A ping went off in her head as more power began to grow close to her. Snow looked over her shoulder too see Jackson running towards them. She bit her lip and looked back at Sera. She could no longer make out the others. Only this group.

“Jackson is heading towards us Sera.” And then another figure emerged, running towards them though at a much farther distance. It wa Ryu… carrying the girl who had joined their camp after stealing. Snow sighed in relief, glad that almost everyone was coming back from the confrontation with N'ghannyth. Except of course… Patrick and Keiji… and Kore. Snow bit her lip, unsure as she ran alongside Sera but paused for a moment. Were they safe? Okay?

Maybe… Snow bit her lip and looked at Vira, feeling less relieved to see the angry woman with them. Sure Snow was not one to wish her into dangerous situations… but she might have been of help to others who stayed behind.

Still there was… Snow blinked, her memory coming up blank for two seconds before she thought of the name. Lucas. H-how did she forget him? Snow turned back to where they were heading, determined to get there and find the hunter. At least see him. It seemed that even though his power had gone back down, Snow’s bond had been keeping her immune. But now that was gone. She was slowly forgetting him. She shook her head and thought of Kore and Vira.
Maybe if everyone forgot about him it would be for the best…

Kore Dair
Keeping her eyes on Mr Corpse, Kore muttered to Ryuji "The forest can be a massive obstacle, if I need it to be.", she took a step away from Mr Corpse and his 'subjects'. She was disgusted, these things spread death even to the life at their feet - and she wanted to destroy each one of them. But, she held back, knowing it was a bad idea to attack unless she had to. She hesitated a second more, before turning skipping quickly over to Zephyr, grabbing him and slinging him over her shoulder as quickly as she could. It was good thinking on her part to re-make the cage of ivy around her, and hide her bag of grains under the willow where her canoe was hidden as the trees had begun to whisper warnings. So, all she had to do was hoist Zephyr onto her shoulder in a fireman carry, utter a quick "Sorry for the bumpy ride, Zephyr.", and run after Ryuji.
She was a bit behind him, and couldn't really catch up at the pace he was currently at.
Holy oak, he's fast... If he wanted her to catch up, or even keep pace, he would have to slow down. At the pace she was going now, with her running as fast as she possibly could with the light boy over her shoulder, she was barely able to keep up with his pace - even with the ivy pushing her along. She wasn't too worried, as she could track him to keep up, as she slowly fell behind. Her side hurt, but the adrenaline helped her to push past the pain from the bruises on her side, as she continued to run as fast as she was able after the rest of the group - her breathing was heavy but even.
She didn't like what the trees were telling her, her paranoia began to flare up as she was informed that she was most probably being followed. Still prepared to deal with some sort of attack, she continued to follow Ryuji, keeping her eyes peeled and her ears to the trees, listening for any trouble.

Slowing down the pace now that the river was long gone from sight, Sera began to walk, releasing the protective grip she had on Snow and the new girl, whose name she heard to be Einua. Acknowledging Snow's heads-up, Sera looked over her shoulder, seeing Jackson, followed by Ryuji carrying Kaia, and Kore. Waving at them, Sera waited for them beneath a large tree, smiling. She was glad that most of them had arrived safely and unscathed, from what she could tell.

"Glad you made it back, Jackson." Looking at Ryuji and Kaia, Sera remarked jokingly, "It seems your flirtyness has its perks, right Kaia?"

"Everything is good on our end. What's the deal with that abnorm? Did you guys need to fight? And, where are the others? The other man and... his kid? And... that other lady... ah it'd be easier if I knew their names."

"The abnorm is not a problem anymore it seems, our loud friend crumbled his speaking platform from beneath him." Jackson began. "Seems like he's going to leave us alone for the moment, but I would still be on our guard. After all, we need to warn the town about the sludge right? There's still time to do so before it reaches them I think. About fighting though, we did not need to fight, although the group was in agreement about not wanting to oblige him. He wanted us to drink the sludge to become "enlightened." Patrick and his charge will be following us shortly as well as everyone else more likely than not. Although there were alot of women in that group so I'm not sure if I know who you are speaking about. It's not easy to remember almost everyone's name, unless you are already introduced to them right?"

Vira

Tib199u.png

'You could've at least stopped to see,' Ellie was saying while Vira moved quickly away from that gross thing.
She had left, leaving behind nasty, angry words like usual. Many of the other people were behind her, left to deal with Corpse-person and its weird machinations.

'Stopped to see what?' Vira replied with a frown. Ellie just couldn't stop from sticking her nose where it didn't belong, could she? Vira had seen all she wanted to from that weird man claiming nonsense. He was a dangerous Abnorm that she didn't want to deal with at all. If those others back there... If they didn't come to the same conclusion and simply leave, that was their problem.

'Must you always be so antagonistic?'
Ellie complained in her mind. 'Vira, please. Being kind isn't going to hurt you. It isn't some sickness that will corrupt you. You can still be you, but just... you know, try to be helpful? Try to be less of a pain to everyone?'

Vira sighed as she walked swiftly along. 'For you, Ellie... maybe. Maybe I'll try.' Speaking of walking swiftly, Vira's power was once again in 'map mode'. With a strong need to leave this forest behind, she made good time through it. It was like she was the plant lady herself. In fact, she was so good at navigating the forest, that she quickly caught up to others who had left earlier. Her rusty gaze traveled over them all, from Snow, to Sera, to the other kids she had with her. They were escaping the weird corpse man, made sense... Anyway, it was like Vira had forgotten what she just said to Ellie, because she barely made any acknowledgement of the others, before she continued on her way. She seemed to lead a path through the forest, regardless, passing even them. Anyone who followed her.. well.. she wasn't paying all that much attention to. She had eyed those people she passed, a little annoyed they were behind her, but she recognized this was the way out of the forest. That this was the way to the next town over. That meant she would see these people more, huh? Sigh. Well, at least it made sense -this path; follow the river, it would lead you to civilization, that much was simple enough for even people like this.

...

With the sun low in the sky, orange and reds painting the canvas above, the forest finally began to break away. Vira stepped out of it, spotting the town just there. Its edge touched the edge of the forest, with the river flowing just beside. The town up ahead had an air of sickness above it. And not even because the river had been tainted.

Stepping into it, Vira could tell this place sucked just like most places. The buildings around were all in disrepair, boarded up, or made completely of wood, patched up haphazardly. There were all sorts of unsavory sorts around. A few nasty people glanced her way, and her power spiked. A snide, shady-type flipping a knife smirked her way, hissing, "Heyyyy baby, whatsyour name?" A few others looked over, clad in shadows.

Gang members. It was obvious. One look around would reveal the state of this unfortunate town. Most normal folk who moved about looked despondent. Rarely did any have more then a despaired look on their dirty faces. Clothes coated with dirt, men and women alike. Vira heard a scream off in the distance. Frowning at the shriek of a woman, some of the gang members around heard it too, but still looking Vira's way, they merely smirked cruelly or cackled, daring her to intervene. This place was trapped by a local gang. It wasn't an unfamiliar sight in New-America.

Vira felt sick to her stomach, recalling such things in her past. Before though, she would be on the other side. With the ones oppressing the poor people of the unlucky town her gang came to. She didn't need to wonder if this was The Devil and His Demons. It wasn't thankfully. It only required a simple glance around to reveal the gang's symbol: an enigmatic slitted eye. Vira knew this gang from rumor. It was known as 'The One' gang. A group slightly cultish, believing something like that corpse man from before. That they were apart of something known as 'The One'. Lead by their leader 'Big One', a man who was supposed to be some sort of prophet. A medium of whatever The One was. Nothing Vira cared for.

Her stomach drawled. Hm... perhaps she should've hunted before coming here. She was hungry. Maybe she could visit the local bar and forget her troubles? Blast! She forgot for a moment how destitute she currently was! Gr... if only that old man hadn't stopped the bet. If only she had stuck around to finish that bet! She could've won a hefty chunk of booze money. "Tch, damn."

Nicholas walked out of the bar, his body language making him look rather different from the regular inhabitants of the town. A few of the gang members looked at him but decided it was better to leave him alone than to start trouble with someone who was visibly armed. He was lost in thought and didn't see as he collided with Vira. After recovering from his collision he looks at the girl and shakes his head "Sorry. Didn't see you there." He turns around and sighs as he looks over the town, the air itself felt heavier here, almost as if the location itself was clouded with sickness "word to the wise...Don't stay here too long." he adjusts the sleeve over his cybernetic arm and lets out a long breath before shrugging and continuing his journey into the town. As he walks he begins to hum to himself and even begins flipping a small coin between his fingers, trying his best to tone out the various sounds coming from deep within the rotten town.

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Town

"Do not drink from the river! The river is tainted!"

All over town, a mad man dressed like a cowboy was yelling this. He yelled and yelled and yelled, but his words either fell on deaf ears or he would receive gazes filled with pity, for they all thought he was mad. And perhaps, perhaps he is, for he knew no one would listen, that his actions would be in vain. Yet, he did them anyways, just to curb his guilty conscience, just so that he could walk away saying that he had done what he could. No, one would suppose he isn't mad after all, his mind is very rational, pitiably so.

Eventually, he stopped, Lucca stopped, he had both ran out of breath and conviction. All along he knew this would be in vain, and he'd already stopped trying to convince himself otherwise.

"Stupid! So stupid! What am I doing?" he said to himself as his fist slammed into the wall he leaned on to regain his breath. He is now being and alleyway, a bar is close by.

"Huh? Did you hear something?" a gruff voice called out, apparently having noticed the ruckus caused by Lucca.

Immediately, Lucca ducked behind a barrel, he had seen the state this town is in, it was not pretty. He didn't want any trouble, definitely not with a gang. In fact, he had already attracted some attention and had been chased around for a bit after they heard him yell his "nonsense", though the chase only lasted as long as they could remember him, and it took but turning a few corners before they had all but forgotten what he looked like.

"Hmm... Whatever it was, it's gone now." finding nothing, the two gang members moved on. "Speaking of which, weren't we chasing someone?"

How quickly they forgot. A day ago, Lucca would have thought that this is completely normal, but now, now that he's aware, this is certainly abnormal. No one really forgets that quickly do they?

"I need a drink..."

He was thirsty, he had been running for quite a while now after all, it was a dash at first but he had to slow down to a jog so that he doesn't tired himself out before even getting to this town. He needed to something to drink, but with the river being tainted, that pretty much just leaves one place with safe drinks.

"I hope they got ginger ale... eggnog would be nice too."

With that, Lucca decided to call it a day, hopefully this bar actually stays intact for the evening.

Patrick's arm shot down and grabbed the cup before Keiji could drink the potentially tainted water. He eyed the new girl, then looked at the corpse, then at the still sludge laden river, and finally back at the girl before tilting the cup back and draining the thing in one gulp.

He waited a couple of seconds before spiting out what remained in his mouth. Other than tasting awful there were nothing won't with the water that was in the cup. If there had been his auto protocols would have kicked in and begun to neutralize them.

Patrick nodded, he remembered this girl from the other town, he had assumed she was a friend of Scarlett's. Now though, considering hey late arrival, he doubted it.

That didn't matter right now though, whatever she had done had removed the tain from the river. Good, he said simply, if your willing to help the town you can come with us for now, he looked back at N'ghannyth, Keiji get your stuff packed up we're leaving now.

The soldier never took his eyes off the insane zombie as he helped Keiji get they're stuff packed away and moved on down the river. He only looked away when the thing was out of site, his group was to far behind the others to see them, but Patrick hadn't been given command of a black ops strike team for his good looks. So it was a simple thing to follow the larger group from the tracks they left behind.

The sun had already gone down by the time the town came into site, and Patrick was carrying both Keiji and the kids pack as the three of them entered town. He figured that the others must have headed towards the local inn/bar so he made his way there and forced open the door with his shoulder. The old man, stood in the doorway looking around for anyone he recognized hoping he had guessed correctly, even loud mouth.

Snow
325327.jpg

Snow looked at the town. She and the group had been following Vira even though for once thankfully, the woman hadn’t yelled. The town looked… so very similar to Snow’s original home. She watched the people in it and could not help thinking of a time in her own village when such dreariness resided.

The ground squished and squashed under the weight of the simple wheelbarrow. Snow’s hair was up on her head in a mass of waves, a scrap of cloth tied as a makeshift band. She pushed harder at the cart, the one rickety wheel stuck now. With a gasp a hard crack sounded out and Snow fell forward, hot blood matting down her hair and stinging her eyes. She groaned as her form slowly lifted to see a group of children running away. A bloody stone lay beside the muddy wheel barrow. She got back up and bit her lip, tears forming as her hair went back to blonde and her thorns slowly receded.

Snow was about 8 years old, and still did not know of the power in her blood. She only knew of the thorns that shot out and the way her appearance turned to that of a monster. The thorns hurt her more so than the rock and Snow took it and threw it into the mud with a scream, crying as the light drizzle around her started washing away the blood, only leaving hundreds of little holes in her skin. It always looked as if the girl was sick with the chicken pox the way red circles always dotted her arms and legs. But they were merely scabs, healing the wounds her body inflicted upon herself. With shaky legs, much like those of a newborn fawn, Snow managed to get the wheelbarrow unstuck and began again onward.

Her hand went to her head reflexively as she touched the scar hidden by her hair as it went up into her scalp. She bit her lip and winced as the more evil looking people started to cat call Vira. Vira was as beautiful as she was mean so Snow wasn’t surprised. But a scream stopped her. She looked around worry etching into her face as she took a step towards the sound. “V...vira. Y-you heard that right? Someone could be hurt…” Snow looked at Sera, Jackson, Kore, Ryu, Einua and the new girl… K something. “I… I um… I’ll find you all again at the inn.”

Snow did not know if she would come back… she had been alone for so long but technically… their journey was over. They escaped the probably countless Hunters at the village and were now… well safe wasn’t the word. Snow nodded, smiling at Ryu softly. “Th-thank you by the way.” She ran away from the group, Kore no longer able to stop her since they were out of the forest.

Did she know she was heading towards the shrieks? No… well… that was where she was going. But Snow knew now from her time in the forest that well… as Sera had convinced her, she could maybe… be brave? Snow really didn’t feel brave. She felt stupid. But Vira wasn’t going to help a random stranger.

She should really just sit in the protection that Jackson offered, relax under Ryu's watchful eye, enjoy herself in wonderful company and care Sera provided... but she couldn't. Before, well before the woods Snow might have let that shriek go. What could she do? But now... now that she knew some people were still good on the inside, her thoughts went back to her own childhood. She would not let anyone go through that alone.

Fifth -

Like a shadow shaped by the many forms in the town, Fifth committed himself to follow the whole group as a whole as The Second suggested to take part on The Priest's tracks. Regardless of what had happened at the camp; he could not help but to be interested by the fact of how the group has composed itself. Adding the fact that they were now in a town, Fifth no longer needed to hide behind trees or vegetation, but to walk around like any other commoner, not raising too much attention nor losing them from sight.

He took his bow to his shoulders and held it there instead of walking around armed. Mumbling a simple song, or maybe just a simple phrase that he seems attached to; "~Look at me standing...~" as he moved around and took position on a corner near by, keeping his sharp watch, "~Here on my own again...~" his eyes dart around the area as to notice the environment and the people around him, "~Up straight in the sunshineeee~" one of the shadows he notice is The First, resting against a wall, acting like a beggar. The First would slightly move his head upwards to face the Fifth as he continued to mumble his song, "~No need to run-" then saw the little child running away, or at least looked like a child. The Fifth wanted to intervene, for whatever the scream was, she would be in trouble on her own. But his eyes met The First's - And Fifth did not act, not until the dangerous first projection gave him a nod in agreement - and so he began to follow on his own through another alley, and from there he took the roof, "~and hide. It's a wonderful wonderful life...~" whatever the child would find - she might find herself some help. littleberry littleberry
First -

Stood slowly - his eyes consumed by shame and regret, or so he acted as. He walked aimlessly like a lost soul as he reached for a better position. Then, he slowly converted into a more menacing creature whom would stand near by Vira, still acting as if each step was the struggle of his life. Not until his dense back avoided the rest to see his face, or gestures. From there, he turned his attention towards her and revealed the mask of metal with skull form, his right hand moved his robes slightly to show the warrior his own weapons. Maybe he was proposing a challenge, but what was clear for the both only was that The First wanted her attention.

After that, he would so turn to the left and walk upon alley, in which he would take her - alone. No one near to hear or see what was about to happen.

Ryuji Nakamoto

As he was running, Ryuji continued to hear that voice in his head. Let me out Let me out. Let me out. The voice called to him with hatred and aggression, but at the same time it was mesmerizing like a siren's call. He completely ignored Sera's jibe as he ran past them, leaving the group behind as he wound up in auto-pilot, instincts guiding him into the next town with the girl still in his arms. I will kill everything here. It reeks of danger and filth. People as pathetic as these don't deserve to live in the new empire. Ryuji had never heard the fox speak before and he as he found himself a hidden away spot, he couldn't imagine what was happening. With his location secured, Ryuji finally set down the little blue haired girl in his arms and returned to his meditative stance. He didn't do this because he wanted to, but because the fox was terrifying right now.

The city had faded and the wind howled around him as it blew about inside the temple. "Two visits in two days Ryu?" Hifumi's voice assailed his ears as Ryuji sat there, petrified and unable to open his eyes. "Something's definitely not right if you aren't reacting to me. Add in the fact that you're not the fox right now and we've got ourselves an interesting dilemma." The touch of Hifumi's hand against his face brought him both joy and pain. Her skin was as cool to the touch as it always was. Ryuji continued to be lost in the sensation of her skin as her hand ran from his forehead, down his cheek and to his chest and stopped. "You're humanity is growing stronger. You're starting to care for people."

"That's weakness." Ryuji spit back as his eyes opened and he stood up. Hifumi was only a few shorter than him this time. It was true, he'd separated from the fox. "It gave him a chance to control me. He threatened you, told me I was too weak to save you. He destroyed my shoulder so that I couldn't even fight as well as I used to. The only reason I was able to even kill you was you didn't expect me to poison my lips with the fluid from the bamboo tree." Ryuji cursed his cowardice. "If I had just told you....."

"Then you would have died. And whatever is going on outside of this place wouldn't be happening to you. You'd never find your own path to being human once more." Hifumi embraced Ryu and he felt at ease for the first time in years. "Ryu, my love, my fiancée, my wild fox, you know that I wanted nothing more than your humanity to come back to you. If you can do that for me, gain the strength to put your life in your own hands once more, I'd be eternally happy. I would be able to rest easily and trust that you'd get to live a long life as a human and not as a blood thirsty monster." Hifumi's eyes looked up into Ryu's as he pressed his forehead against hers.

"But, if my humanity comes back, what of him?" Ryuji pointed towards the entrance where the cry of a fox echoed through the halls. "Isn't it wrong to take his life away and forget what he's been through? I cannot just become a human and forget my sins, especially not the sin against you." Running his fingers through her hair, Ryuji just wished this was reality and not just some spirit temple in his mind. The awareness and inevitability of him having to leave brought him great sorrow. "If only I could stay in this temple."

"You always were one to get caught up in the romantic." Hifumi chuckled. "What did I tell you before though? A woman loves to see a man's strength and appreciates his vulnerabilities. We don't always want a protector but we also don't want our man to cling to us." Hifumi sighed as she looked up at him. "Someday, someday soon, I want you to let me go. I'm tired of being the reason that you claw for humanity and put yourself through the pain of having to look on my face while knowing that I'm never coming back. I love when you do what's right because it's the human thing to do." She bit her lip as she looked to him. "I went through your memories." A powerful slap went across his face. "You're a really player you know that?! I know I taught you that all women are flowers to be appreciated, but three girls at once?! I taught you better."

"It seems I'm still an asshole to women even without your lessons." Ryuji chuckled as another cry shook the temple. "I guess we should see him." Ryuji sighed as he walked towards the entrance with Hifumi holding his hand firmly. The beast had learned to talk, so Ryu knew he needed to listen to what it had to say. At least hear it out for the time being.

As the pair approached the front of the temple, it looked like a war had been fought. The pillars were cracked and damaged. The shields that shone with the night's reflection were scattered about and all of the torches were dowsed. The giant black writhing mass of hate and bloodlust loomed before them, six tails wildly moving about behind the fox as it tore at the mask on its face, crying for freedom from its cage. "Let me out. Get this thing off me!" The fox looked into Ryuji's eyes and his blood went cold. "You. You are the one disregarding my voice, ignoring my wants and desires. You, who created me to take your place in the world. Now that the pain is gone you just want to take it back like it never happened?! I will kill you before I let your weakness become our downfall."

"Ryuji is NOT weak." Hifumi cried out in irritation. "You're the weakness, the viciousness of his soul and the corruption that made him lose everything. He wanted you to be his protector. His guardian and more than anything, he wanted you to be his strength for the future. Why would you betray his hope and trus-"

Ryuji interrupted her. "He's right Hifumi. I created him to replace the me that was too weak to use my abnormality. It's his abnormality not mine. Even I've thought this. Do you not see his tails increased in number from when I was with him. His power is immensely greater than my own." Ryuji sighed. "But I cannot let you have your freedom fox." Ryuji's words were hollow. He didn't have the strength to back that up, nor the conviction. Why did he resist the fox? Because Hifumi's last words as she died in his arms. "Fox, I'm sorry to ignore you. But I will honor my promise at the end of her life." As he spoke, one of the torches lit again behind him. "Come Hifumi, I need to get away from him and his darkness."

"You cannot run from me forever, mortal, I will take control again, and when that day comes. I will kill you in this place so that you can never be reborn." The fox's words lingered in the air as Hifumi and Ryu stepped into that ring once more.

"You don't give yourself enough credit my love." Hifumi smiled as she turned to Ryuji. "But you're making progress. You didn't ask the fox to absorb you again."

"We are two halves to the same whole, but ultimately, one of us will have to take control. And to honor you, the woman who saved me and gave me my life back. I will try to find strength."

"You have strength near you. You just need to stop fooling around and be serious." Hifumi's sword shimmered again with the four elements. "I don't think you'll need to be stabbed this time." She smiled as she placed the flat of the blade against his cheek and the surge of energy and disappearance of the temple was the notice that his time was done there.

For Kaia, who was the only one to observe. Even with his mask on, Ryuji looked to be in pain as his eyes never darkened, but simply were filled with regret. The emptiness continued as tears flowed steadily from his eyes. Whatever he envisioned brought him sorrow and pain. But as quickly as his meditation began, it was over. And he slowly removed the mask and wiped away the tears. "Hifumi, I'm sorry." He muttered as he looked at the pool of water in his hands from the tears. Letting it hit the sand, Ryu stood and felt weak at the knees, nearly falling to the ground. It seemed the fox was going to resist in his own way.

Morgan Llewellyn

Tanya.jpg

The door to the bar swung open and Tanya welcomed the arrival with a smirk. "Howdy partner, welcome to my saloon. What can I git ya for." She playfully teased the young lad wearing the cowboy hat. "Just a small note, don't start trouble of I'll have my enforcer over there take you down a notch." Tanya pointed to the young lad at the other side of the bar holding some patron against the wall.

"I don't care if you're "Big One" himself," She placed her fingers on the boy's cheek and let the warmth of his energy fill her until he passed out. To others it would look like the boy passed out from fear. "Nobody gets grabby with the women in Tanya's bar." Walking back to the door, Morgan glared down at the stranger. "What do you want kid? Picking a fight?" Tossing the gang member out into the street Morgan wiped her hands off. This was the establishment that NOBODY messed with. They paid their dues and took out the trash. And sure, they'd occasionally picked a fight with the gang, but Morgan had ways to make it seem like just a dream, plus some reliable liars who'd vouch for her story. After all, if this bar got wrecked there'd be no good booze anymore. So long as Big One never showed up, she'd be able to keep this place safe. "So, new in town kid?" Morgan pulled the boy over to the counter, keeping him away from the fools that would try and take advantage of his innocent looking face.

"Well he's certainly not a regular Morgan." The woman smiled as she cleaned up the glass in her hands. "The name's Tanya. I run this place, and Morgan here's my bouncer. He deals with all my problem children." She smiled and Morgan was thankful that she'd introduced her as a he. "Anyway, let me know if there's any drink I can get ya, within reason." She smiled as she walked over to another patron calling for a drink, leaving the pair sitting alone. Morgan quickly grabbed the half-filled drink and downed the glass of bourbon with a smile

Khayn Powers

Khayn P.jpg

Khayn walked around the town as he did every night since arriving. His paws, tapping along the dirt as he tried to ignore the smell of sex and booze in the air. It wasn't easy when your nose was now far stronger than that of a humans. I just had to choose being a dog for cover didn't I? I couldn't have chose a nice house cat? That would've been so much easier! With little choice he continued until the sound of a scream hit his ears. And like a hero always did, he rushed off to the rescue. A howl sounding out as he morphed from dog into a half man, half cat creature. The sudden increase in his speed kicking up dust behind him. As he approached he saw five men harassing a poor woman on the street.

"Unhand her heathens." He cried out as he leapt into action, literally, as he soared through the air, he morphed back to himself and kicked the member closest to the girl and sent him flying and tumbling through the dirt. "Run along madame. I'll deal with these miscreants." His voice was powerful as he turned to the remaining four, his power already morphing his eyes to that of an insects, namely the praying mantis. His reaction speed and strikes needed to be higher when he was out numbered. The slight movement of the first man set Khayn into action. He closed the gab in a blink and struck the man's neck knocking him to the ground

With his new vision, Khayn caught sight of the man attacking from his left and Khayn caught his hand with the knife quickly and latched onto it in his arm. Once a praying mantis had hold of its prey, it's grip would break and kill the other bug. The same transferred to Khayn's strength now, the snapping of a wrist, causing the blade to drop. In another few flashes of excitement, Khayn had immobilized the last of the thugs. Or so he thought. He heard the sound of running and saw the man he kicked running away. Khayn started to chase after, but quickly froze up when he grabbed hold of a small girl with pale hair and bright red eyes by her head. "Fiend. Unhand the hostage." He cried out as the man decided to show his abnormality, growing larger in size to that of a small truck, it was probably something that would increase his strength as well. "Little girl, I will save you." He spoke clearly as he eyed down the man, removing all of his own transformation to show his willingness to cooperate.

"That's a good hero. Now you're gonna let me go. Okay? Otherwise, I'll squish this girl's head like a grape." He snickered as he looked dead at Khayn. Khayn was worried for the girl and had to do something, he knew he could probably become like a spitting cobra, but hiding his change would make him tired. It's all in a day's work for a hero though. Khayn focused as he continued to try and keep the man talking.

"How are you going to ensure that? You know I'll be able to track you down." The glans he needed were formed. He just needed to aim precisely so as not to hurt the girl. Khayn stopped listening to the man's escape plan and failed reasoning. The minute the man moved the girl off to the side he spit. The venom flying into the man's eyes and a loud scream echoing from him. That was his time to move. He lunged forward, throwing his shoulder into the man's solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him and having him drop the girl. A few more well placed punches and the man was unconscious. He turned to the small girl with a smile. "Are you alright m'lady?" Khayn knelt down to the girl and noticed the thorns on her arms. "A defensive abnormality huh? You can relax. My name is Khayn. I'm a hero." He spoke gently as he waited for the thorns to retreat. His breathing was heavy and seat poured over his body. It was the toll from having to hide the hood, scales and fangs of the cobra earlier.

Kore Dair
Once Kore finally reached the group, there was no sign of Ryuji and the girl in his arms, and since Vira had decided to lead the group, Kore was content to fall back, walking behind the rest of them. This was the opposite of her intentions - she had wanted to miss this town out completely - but it seemed the rest had different ideas, and she didn't say anything otherwise. She had been to this place once before, and had decided never to go back. But, it seemed she would have to, she mulled over that thought as she let Zephyr off her shoulders, grabbing his hand to make sure he didn't wander off. Removing all the ivy that had caged her form, apart from a small band of it around her waist under all her clothes, she pulled up her hood as she looked over the disgusting place from the back of the group.
Although she did not want to leave the forest, nor did she really want to follow the group - after all they had decided she was no longer needed - but she felt somewhat responsible for Zephyr, and knew she couldn't take him home with her, as she only barely managed to scrape by feeding herself. So she decided she would follow these people who seemed to share resources, and she had to admit to herself, she was intrigued, and just tired of being alone.
And I have to find that swine Lucas, and give him a piece of my mind... She knew the little snot would be around somewhere, and sticking with the group sounded like her best bet.
She stayed behind the rest, only giving a glance to Snow as she scarpered off to what Kore knew would be trouble. Lucky for Kore, she was tall and skinny, and with her hood covering her down turned face, and baggy coat - it was easy enough for her to pass as a male if they didn't see her face. Which meant a lot less trouble for her.
Snow wanted to meet them at the... Inn? Kore wasn't quite sure what that was, although she recognised the word from somewhere... She decided Snow probably meant the drinking hole, a place Kore did her best to avoid like the plague.
But, she had made up her mind now, and after hesitating by the treeline a little longer, she reluctantly stepped away and rejoined the group, staying at the back, waiting to see what the rest would do. If they ran after Snow, Kore decided she would just follow her nose to the smell of alcohol and wait in the... Establishment.

Snow
upload_2017-7-19_2-7-42.png

Snow pumped her small legs as she raced through alleys and streets, yelping as people seemed to jump out of the shadows, their icky voices slithering down her back. When she finally turned down the empty street where the woman was she saw someone already on the way to help.

It was a man who fought like ten. He freed the woman who ran past Snow. Turning her head, Snow thought to go after her, make sure she was okay… but the man fighting was so impressive. It wasn’t the muscles of attractiveness… but his words. He called them heathens, treated that woman with respect as he freed her. He seemed like… like well a true hero. Snow wished with her small heart she could be a hero as well… but that wasn’t in the cards for her. Maybe she could help… some way? Snow bit her lip and took as tentative step forward before jumping to the side as one of them fell with a crack of bones.

This stranger was strong… and possibly dangerous… Snow turned to leave but was suddenly grabbed by one of the hooligans. She yelped, worry for not herself but the hooligan flowing from her as her thorns shot out of her arms and legs, kicking them as she squirmed to be free.

“Please! Please don’t touch me! Don’t touch me I don’t want to cut you!” Her cries were strange given how he was the one threatening to squish her like a grape. At that her blood sung out and the thorns grew from her back as well, spiking out in defense, but the man had her by her now pure white hair. Snow opened her eyes, tears streaming down her face as she looked at Khayn with her ruby red eyes, sobbing from the sting on her head of the hooligans hold.

“Go away! Run! I’ll… I’ll be find please, please let him go he can’t touch me! Don’t let him touch me!” She begged out, screaming as she kicked more, her small frame held in the air. She didn’t want this hooligan to start trying to beat her, it wouldn’t end well. And she so did not want to be blood bonded with this guy. The hero promised to save her… maybe he would? Suddenly, Snow was dropped to the ground where she crumpled like a small ball, gasping as hooligan fell and was beaten.

The hero approached, Snow looking up at him as her hair went back to pale blonde and her eyes faded to rose pink. Her thorns retreated though her blood sung for the power before it. She knew, even if she didn’t have her gift, that this man was Abnorm. Khayn… a hero…

She took him in, exhausted and tired.

“I… I’m Snow. Are you um… are you bleeding anywhere… you can’t t-touch me or be too close if you’re bleeding.” Her skin was also slick like his, beads of blood running down her limbs. She felt woozy and dizzy but still she stood on her shaky legs, biting her lip. “A h-hero… I was told there weren’t any. I… I um… I am glad to see one.” She flushed up her neck and cheeks, looking away quickly. “T-thank you. I’m sorry I g-got in the w-way… b-but I heard sc-screaming and well… I just… you see… um…” Snow stammered, knowing she probably looked pathetic to Khayn, a REAL hero.

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Bar

Of all the people to run into in front of a bar, it had to be the old timer. Somehow Lucca felt as if this had happened before. Lowering his head and tilting his hat, Lucca obscures his face and tried to discreetly walk past the guy. And seriously, please, stop bringing kids to a bar. With his head pointing towards the ground and the hat in the way, it makes it harder to see his face, but it also makes it harder for him to see, therefore it was only inevitable that he'd eventually bump into someone.

"Oh shit! Sorry about that."

Turns out, the one he had bumped into was the owner of the bar, and fortunately for Lucca she seemed to be rather friendly, and teased him with some southern lingo.

"Just a small note, don't start trouble of I'll have my enforcer over there take you down a notch." the owner then warned him, her friendliness still unfading, as she points towards her so called bouncer who, to Lucca, seemed a bit on the "fun size", yet for some reason, still managed to scare the lad she's dealing with into unconsciousness.

Taking note of Lucca, the fun sized bouncer came and spoke, immediately assuming that Lucca is here for a fight... or was that some kind of joke, the kind he says on first meetings? Is that a bouncer thing.

"Ah yes, I just got here." Lucca answered honestly, he saw no reason to lie, "I came from through the forest, upstream. Speaking of which, in the river further upstream, the was something that smelled like its dead and rotting, you might want to avoid drinking from there for the time being."

Whether they believe him or not, that's out of his hand, but he did warn them, so that's that.

"The names... Lucas, Lucas Miller, at your service ." he replied after the owner of the bar, Tanya as it turns out she's called. Never did he thought that he'd use that name a second time. Was there really a need to lie about that though? In fact, wouldn't that make him easier to find for the others since that's what they knew him by anyways? Well, what's done is done, you can't turn back time. "And if you have something sweet and nonalcoholic, that would be great. Something like ginger ale perhaps?"

"So, Morgan was it?"
said Lucca as he decided to strike up a conversation on a whim. "You're pretty..." stopping himself there, Lucca thought carefully about what he's was going to say. He was going to mention that he's pretty small for a bouncer, but that seems to be something that'll earn him an ass whooping, and he had enough of that already. "Errr, you're pretty tough ain't cha? That lad you got just now outright fainted when you grabbed him. What's your secret?"

Lucca's thinking if he had learned some of those martial arts said to be mostly forgotten or something, and is totally not asking if he's an Abnorm, though Morgan would have no way of knowing such thoughts.

Vira

Tib199u.png

"Ungfh!" Vira released a sudden surprised grunt when someone ran right into her. He stepped right out of a building then plowed right into her. There had been no notice, no forewarning from her power, because this guy had no idea he would run into her. He had no idea he 'could've injured' her there. So no spike in her danger warning. It felt odd for someone to 'bypass' her usual defense. Being bumped into? Well it wasn't something she particularly enjoyed. It wasn't hard to piss her off, but for this reason she felt her blood boil. In fact, most people couldn't even touch her on account of her power (unless she allowed it). "Feel honored," Vira hissed under her breath as the man who was roughly her size moved away. He had managed to touch her, an envy of all the trashy goons around. She had felt the rough material of his arm during their collide, as well as, spotting him fixing it. Something was off there. A... robotical arm? An abnormality? Or just.. something practical, hm?

An odd thing caught her eyes. Though she had choice words for the idiot that rudely bumped into her, he seemed to move off, and this new thing was trying to get her attention. His masked face reminded her of Ryuji, Jackson, and that odd kid that needed help. Wow, there were a low of mask-wearing people around, huh? He flashed some weapons. A 'threat'? Didn't feel like it. A challenge? Similar to the one that the Old Man had given her earlier that day? Seemed likely. He moved to leader her down the alley, and for a brief moment she took a step that way, curiosity slightly getting the better of her. She paused, giving him a shake of her head, glaring at the disappearing masked-person, then turned. She didn't particularly want to interact with weirdos like that.

Out of the corner of her eye she watched as Snow darted away, apparently heading after the scream. "HEY!" she called, reaching forward with her right hand, left hand already on the sword at her hip. "Tch, stupid skirt!" Vira spat, shaking her head. How could that girl be so foolish?! It was similar to the reason Vira didn't follow the weird masked-guy into the alley. You didn't just go after weird screams in a place like this! This place was dangerous. Anything like that only lead to trouble, to traps, or to situations that could be quite perilous. Especially for as someone as useless and weak like Snow.

To 'no one's surprise' Vira darted swiftly after the disappearing white-haired girl. Catching up relatively quickly, the dark-haired girl slid to a stop. Hands went to her sword, while rustic eyes watched the scene play out before her. The lady who screamed out was surrounded by vile thugs, that Vira glared bloody murder at. However, swiftly a man showed up. Showcasing his abnormality with no worry, he leaped right into action. Shifting into animal-parts, he attacked, making quick work of the pathetic thugs. One ran towards Vira, who stood in the shadows. 'Wrong way, fucker,' she warned darkly in her mind, hand gripping her sword, waiting to slice him. Except that didn't happen, he grabbed Snow, using her as a hostage. Vira winced, gritting her teeth, stepping forward, but again, the man intervened. Using his abnormality, he spit acidic poison onto the man and down he went.

Standing behind Snow, Vira rolled her eyes, hands leaving her sword. This man -named Khayn- came up to her. Naturally he was a 'gentleman' wasn't he? The stupid skirt in front of him started blushing right away. Yes his muscles were on display, rippling, doused and glistening with sweat. Vira shook her head, slightly disgusted with the scene in front of her. Of course he was a 'hero', and his words and tone were both soft and impressive. Freaking girl, she was so pitiful. At least this seemed fine. 'You could be one, too...' Ellie again spoke up, causing Vira to groan inwardly. Intriguingly, Vira's ears did pick up Snow chatting a bit. Someone wasn't supposed to touch her if peoples were bleeding? Hm... Hints and confirmation about her abnormality. Good to know.

Vira turned away, seeking elsewhere. She decided she needed a drink. Hands searched her small bag. Nary a thing was in there. Running low on supplies... That was why she had come here after all. Seeking jobs. She had just a bit of coin left, enough for a single drink. Ugh.

Pushing her way into the bar, eyes scanned the place quickly. That's when her eyes fell upon the cowboy .. Hunter! Oh, right! How could she forget about him? His.. abnormality, of course! Before, she had remembered him implicitly. That was when he spiked her danger radar, but since then, she started to think him less of a danger. That must've been how she had forgotten him, she decided. Then her eyes laid upon the old man who had made a bet with her. Her lips curled into a smirk, maybe she could win that bet after all, and earn a lot more coinage! Hehehe... She was oddly excited now.

Regardless, Vira walked strongly up to the counter. "Hello," she spoke in her politest tone. Staring at the woman there, she questioned, "Any jobs, barkeep?" Places you often could go to find jobs were the inn or the bar. Many contracts and -yes- bounties were there, given often by less-than savory sorts. But there were also often more respectable jobs, pinned by smaller persons that were in need of certain things.. Though this town wasn't a respectable one, so Vira had no high hopes, but you never could know what you'd find. People required a wild assortment of things; Vira had seen all sorts of jobs. She expected to see the various papers explaining the various jobs. There tended to be notice or bounty boards for that sort of thing, but she didn't currently see one.

Third -

Regardless of how much the group seem to crack, their destination seem to be always the same. Or at least for now. Third had no option but to, endlessly, follow Kore into the main group after the long travel and the previous locations visited by her. The Town was a dangerous place to be, nevertheless The Projections do not perceived it as a threat as they could banish and reappear whenever their heart desired.

She felt the presence of both First and Fifth near by, though she did so expect that Fifth would try to learn as much as possible from each every character from the group. That aside, The First's presence meant only a coming fight or the use of threatening measures. Or perhaps not, perhaps he would have a sudden change of heart as to how engage each and every individual separably.

Finally - Kore seem to be thinking on reaching for the establishment, as it would be expected. A calculative mind would so determinate this group lays upon the need of jobs such as bounty-hunter's tasks, some freelancer with no lead or guidance - doing a thug's work for a migrant reward.

A new perspective so appeared, they might not be a threat now, but a potential one. She had no choice but to reunite with the both, First and Fifth up upon the roof. FrostFire FrostFire
Fifth - First - Third

Fifth reached the end of a run. Only to presence what was an ambush in disguise. Instead of acting either indifferent or observant, he could not bare to presence such a bloodshed as he took on his hands the bow and loaded an arrow. But just when his intervention was mostly required, he saw the so call 'Hero' and the Woman The First was after - He almost had the thought the woman herself would be ready to kill the child herself if it wasn't by The First's presence, pulling Fifth away from the edge, holding the arrow away from the bow from behind. littleberry littleberry Kiroshiven Kiroshiven

Fifth was too driven into the situation at hand to recognize The First's presence. Not until he took a dagger near the attacker's throat that the projection so realize that, everything done was actually done in protect him from further accidents, "First-" he said in a quick attempt to show his innocence personality, though the dagger near First's throat suggestive something quite different - adding the fact he did not move from the spot, "I- I am sorry. First-" he removed the weapon from reach as he took it back to his belt as the First offered him his bow back expressionless, "What are you-"

"The girl." he responded with his deep suffocating voice, it was simply too profound a tone, it almost made you feel as the voice alone was drowning you in the spot; adding that the fact he has chosen a very particular mask and outfit. Fifth so tried to explain, "A child- she ran to trouble." "She is safe. The other..." Fifth tried to look over his shoulder as he so considered of whom he was talking about, though he also meant to look away from The First's long stare, so cold like metal; but it was there regardless of how much he looked away, "She seems like trouble - she doesn't care-"

"She cares."
The First responded as he turned around slightly, not to face directly into Fifth, "She is broken." he took his hands and folded them before his belt, where his weapon's hanging, "How do you-" Fifth tried to insert such an inquiry that was quickly both neglected and swipe aside by First's head, "Nevermind then- What will you do?" "Nothing. I can no longer- But set another trap on-going..." that is when Third herself shows on, climbing over the roof as she meets her companions, not knowing First would have so notice her soon arrival, even though Fifth did not foreseen it.

"First-" the Third so exclaimed, rather impressed. The both share a long stare before she can move towards Fifth and The First walks away- banishing in tin air, "Fifth - You seem disconnected." Fifth could not help himself but to look wherever the First walked away, his sight lost into oblivion, "Each time I look at him-" Third nods towards him, posing a hand on his shoulder, "He knows." but Fifth shook his head, "-A monster, Third. I see a monster." Third stood in beside him in silence, not trying to let those words get on her mind, as she shifts her attention to the First, "What you see is a mask, Fifth. What lays behind is... obscure and troubling. We are, in essence, The Warden's entities and memories - It is not his fault the first memory has been routed by pain and treachery. Can you blame him?" Fifth made some steps forward, preparing his bow to aid The First's mission, "We all have a choice." "Do we?" the conversation began to die out alongside with the arguments, ending the conversation with a quote spoken by Fifth but heard from the Second, "There is a beast in every man - and it awakes when you put a sword on his hand~"

- Suddenly, a kid with nothing but some ragged clothes and a bag with money came through the door of the bar and focus his attention to the woman whom asked for a job. He would pull her clothes slightly and give her the money. He would say it was an advance payment... but that the one offering the job wanted to introduction - that she could so spend the money for a drink now, it was of no matter to the contractor for the money he can offer for the job's competition could be far more... rewarding. That is... if she was capable to complete it. - Thalia_Neko Thalia_Neko

Nicholas couldn't help but chuckle when the girl told him to feel lucky. In all honesty he wasn't lucky, he'd been used as a lab rat for a good portion of his life and was suffering life changing effects as a result. He turns to say something to Vira and sees she's disappeared by now. Nicholas takes a turn down an alleyway and comes face to face with a small gang of thugs, each one armed with some manner of offensive weapon "excuse me...This is where I'm sleeping so please just leave and there won't be any trouble..." Nicholas talks in a calm voice in order to convince the thugs to leave. The lead man spits on the floor and glares at him.

"Hey boys, it's another guy who thinks he's all badass cause he has a damn mask and some black clothing. You knows what I think?"
The man turns to the other five men in the gang as they murmur and then he turns back to Nicholas and points his weapon at him "I says we fuck him up and take whatever he has!" As the man finishes speaking Nicholas charges at him, becoming a blur, he knocks the man over and kicks him square in the mouth causing him to howl in pain as his front teeth are knocked in. The other men recoil in shock at first but then draw their weapons and charge at Nicholas who proceeds to draw his own weapon and deflect a slash from one of the thugs. He begins backing into the street as the four remaining thugs proceed to slash and stab at him, every now and again returning with his own strikes. As they back into the street the thugs form a square around Nicholas and begin laughing, they had him trapped now. Or so they thought. Nicholas catches one man's hand as he slashes downwards and twists his arm until he relinquishes his weapon. He twists a bit further until the man yells in agony, the wrist was broken. Nicholas lifts the man up and launches him into one of the other thugs. The remaining two men looked worried now, they had gone from five men down to two in a matter of a couple of minutes.

Nicholas sheathes his sword and charges at one man, he leaps into the air and uses his cybernetic arm to punch him in the jaw. The man crumples to the floor and holds his face as his jaw hangs loose. Nicholas turns to face the other man who has now dropped his weapon and is quaking in his boots. Nicholas walks up to him and grabs the thug by the collar and drags him to the one place in the cesspool of a town he could think of where all the thugs gathered. The bar.

He kicks the door open and throws the man into the centre of the room "let this be a quick lesson. The alleyway across the road from here is mine until I leave this shit hole. If I find you there and you don't leave when asked I'll make sure you end up like this guy and his friends." And with that Nicholas turns and leaves the bar, making his way back to the alley he currently called home.

Jackson turned to Sera and the girl she was holding and said, "I'm going into the Inn, if you need my help or you just want to chill out, don't hesitate to come grab me. Opening the door, Jackson took a seat at one of the tables in the back as he uncapped his flask of booze from the previous bar. He then tipped the flask into a hole on the side, the induction port which he had opened while he was sitting down. He didn't usually use the port as it was a hassle to clean and maintain, but he could not remove his masked helmet as he did not trust these people. Enjoying his booze, he scanned the room for anything interesting. Lucas was at the bar talking to someone he did not recognize, but did not look like a bounty hunter. Then again, he had no reason to panic as he had not shown Lucas his ability; only Vira, Patrick, his charge, and Sera had witnessed this ability, or were in the blast radius of the shockwave. Speaking of blast waves, the door was suddenly kicked inwards as a man was thrown on the floor followed by one wearing a gas mask, unlike his own full helmet mask. ~This town can't get any weirder huh?~

Snow had run off, again. Sera did hear the scream, but coming from a history of hearing such noises nearly everyday, and usually with increased intensity, she didn't follow it. Not too long later, the screaming stopped, and Sera hoped that the victim wasn't hurt at the very least. Acknowledging Jackson's words, Sera followed after him, stopping after a moment when she remembered Kore had followed them. Recalling past events, it seemed that Kore was a powerful abnorm, capable of taking down multiple foes if she was provoked. Certain plants could be very dangerous, toxic leaves, poisonous fruit, etc. However, if you didn't mess with them, they won't hurt you. Kore had stoppped an imminent fight during the stop by the river as well. Even if Sera didn't know her history, at the least she could assume that Kore isn't some assassin with master thief skills... maybe. Being with this group is already a stretch so why not.

"Hey, Kore!" Sera called out to her, making sure to keep her voice light as to not alarm her. "Let's go inside together, standing outside in open alone is not a good idea, especially in dusty towns like these." Sera held out her hand again, then remembered the first time how Kore looked at her funny. "Oh um, this is a hand gesture that means I'm asking you to come with me."

Looking at Sera, down at her hand and then up again at her face as she contemplated the description. She held Zephyr's hand a little firmer, her jaw setting a little as she walked up to Sera, and continued walking past her - perhaps misinterpreting the gesture a little. "Ah, okay. Oh, and we are all being followed, by the way.", she said quietly in the same abnormal calmness as before, although this time there was a minuscule hint of strain to it, barely noticeable. It was much harder for her to keep up her unnatural calm outside of the woods, but, of course, she still managed it. She had deduced that it was probably the female following her specifically, and that there were at least three of them. She was on edge, tense, and pretty scared - but didn't let it show. Showing such raw emotions was dangerous, especially in a town like this.
Pulling the hood a little further down, obscuring her face even more (if that was even possible) as she walked slowly and gracefully towards one of the main places she actively avoided in towns.
It seems trouble coagulates in places like this in every town, she thought wryly, as she skirted around the masked and quite violent looking male. She let him pass her, keeping her head down and Zephyr behind her.
After he had passed, she entered the establishment, skirting around the side and picking a seat as close to (or in) the corner, near the door. The accumulation of people, unsavoury individuals especially, unnerved Kore. Of course she recognised a few of them, and her eyes under her hood landed on Lucas.
Now... Time to give Lucas a piece of my mind. But not in here. She pulled her hood back, revealing her face but not her hair, and looked around with more interest - the murder on her mind not even leaving a hint on her calm and peaceful face.
Making sure Zephyr was sat down, Kore let go of his hand. "I'll be right back, don't go anywhere. And please try and be still and quiet, if you can.", she gave him a warm smile, although the smile didn't reach her eyes.
Standing, she made sure to move her chair back in quietly before moving gracefully and sitting next to Lucas, in between him and the alternative looking person he seemed to be attempting a conversation with.
"Hello, Lucas. I'm glad you got to town okay. Have you thought about what I said last night? If you have any questions, or anything, perhaps we could talk a little more... Privately.", she purred softly - the unnatural calm in her voice would be terrifying to anyone who knew what came after - but of course, no one, not even the people in this group, knew what that tone meant on her voice. So, the honey coated peacefulness just sounded a cross between friendly, slightly flirtatious (unintentionally on her part), and cheery helpfulness. Perhaps Ryuji had been right to call her Nightshade, her sweetness now hid the deadly toxin within.

Morgan's eyes went wide. I'm pretty?! That was a first. She was dressed like a guy and had just caused a guy to faint, but this cowboy, oh. That's what he meant. She rolled her eyes before turning them to the door as traveler after traveler walked in. It was like a parade of outsiders today. Too many people. The One are sure to notice. That'll be a problem. Morgan watched silently as a dark haired woman with a sword on her hip approached and started looking for work. Fool, the only work you can find in this town involves helping The One. They won't accept help from someone they don't know. She sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair and looked to Tanya. "Be honest with her boss. She's gotta be an outsider." Morgan called out across the counter just before someone kicked open the door and threw someone in. "Oh no you fucking didn't." Morgan growled as she stood up and ignored the man's barking. As soon as she approached she smiled at him. "I'm glad you want to put these boneheads in their place, but" quickly grabbing his human arm she threw the boy over her shoulder aiming to slam him "kicking in the fucking door means you're a problem. And that means you need to leave." She smiled softly before lightly slapping the sides of his face through the mask. "Understood?" With the idiots now laying down she motioned for Butch. "Care to take out the trash?" The large man nodded and started to move towards the pair. Morgan looked to Lucas with a smile. "That answer your question?"

Tanya turned and watched the swift fight and sighed. "I wish he didn't lose his temper so fast. He'd be so much cuter." She muttered before turning to the woman. "Sorry love, but the only work round here either involves helping The One." She looked about quickly before whispering. "Or involves the bounty on Big One and his closest henchmen. Other than that, nobody can afford to hire people for work. I'm impressed people spend what little they have here in my bar." Tanya sighed as she wiped down the counter. "The only reason Morgan works for me is that he has a roof over his head and booze in his belly. I can't afford someone who looks like she really knows how to hold her liquor." Tanya's words were polite, but direct. She simply didn't have any work in the area besides taking down the gang that tormented them so much.

Morgan looked to the woman speaking with Lucas. "You know this cowboy? AND you want to take him out of my bar? Good. He asks too many questions."

"Your bar?!" Tanya cried out in frustration. She glared daggers into Morgan. "Listen here MISter. I own this bar. YOU just live here." Tanya emphasized her point and Morgan just sighed.

"You know what I meant Tanya." Morgan looked to the woman with the scar on her face. "Feel free to take him out and hang him dry if you'd like. Nosy people die pretty quickly around here anyway. Save that one freak that's been playing hero in town for the past couple weeks. That idiot's got the biggest bounty I've seen in a long time." Morgan sighed as she returned to her seat, looking at all the newcomers. Were they all travelling together? That must be one hell of a party.

Khayn Powers

Khayn smiled down at Snow as she fumbled with her words. "Easy girl. Find the words, then speak." Khayn gently pet her head before looking at her clothes. They were tattered and she was covered in blood. With no choice, he took some of the rags off the unconscious prick beside them and started wiping off the blood from her arms and legs despite her trying to stand on weak legs. "You came rushing when you heard the cry for help. Sounds to me like you have the makings of a hero yourself. So speak with pride and confidence." He smiled as he threw the rag away. "So much cleaner and cuter to boot." He chuckled as he picked her up in his arms. "So, where should I take you? You must have friends nearby if your power makes you this weak in the knees." His rippling biceps holding the girl princess style as he looked around. "Though I'll have to be quick. The One aren't exactly fond of heroes. No gang is as a matter of fact."

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Bar

It did not take long for trouble to start brewing. Out of nowhere a man came flying through the door and collapsed on the ground, another followed, apparently claiming territorial rights on some place close to the bar and warned the rest about to consequences of trespassing using the man collapsed onto the ground as example of his fury. A strange, violent man, that's what Lucca thought of him, and one hell of a troublemaker as far as he could tell. Lucca was expecting trouble, and he reached for his gun, only to grasp at air. Right! The tree lady took it, he suddenly remembered. If anything happens how, the stool he sits on may have to make do. However before anything had a chance to start, Morgan, the fun sized bouncer took action, and whilst he wondered how is he going to deal with this troublemaker, Morgan had already begun to sling this troublemaker over his shoulder and slammed him onto the ground.

"Oh shit, that's badass!" he couldn't help himself from exclaiming. Being unskilled in hand-to-hand and not being the biggest muscle-head around, he had always admired those with great skill and dexterity over plain muscle power. For the longest time, he had wanted to learn a thing or two, but never quite found anyone to ask of it from. He's just never been that close to anyone before.

Sadly, in the midst of his admiration for the martial arts, he was interrupted by a disturbing presence. "Hello, Lucas. I'm glad you got to town okay. Have you thought about what I said last night? If you have any questions, or anything, perhaps we could talk a little more... Privately." There was an unnatural tenderness in her voice, or rather maybe it's normal for those that had seen the more gentle side of her, but for Lucca, the image of a mean tree witch was still harshly imprinted in his mind, and he could help but find her calming tone unnerving, especially since he had already an inkling on what this is about.

In terror, Lucca turned towards Morgan, the bouncer, but he was swiftly abandoned, apparently he had asked one too many questions and got on the bouncer's nerves.

"N-now hang on a minute, I'm a paying customer, and not to mention I asked one question, one." His eye darted between Morgan and Tanya, silently pleading for help, hoping at least one would notice his plight. But, then again, this is between him and the tree lady, there's no need to involve others, he can take care of this himself.

"Listen... lady," he said to the tree lady, his hands placed on either sides of her shoulders in the same manner he had done with the tree. "I did what I had to in order to keep everyone safe." his eyes were locked right into her's and were sparkling with a stupid sense of righteousness, and his visage became stiffening serious and hardened. "And surely, in such a desperate situation anyone would have done the same, even you." For it was either that, or wet one's pants.

Zephyr had been out of it ever since the pink haired small lady left. He kinda was just back to staring up at the sky and chilling, every once and a while he would stick his hand to the side of him and feel the slight wind coursing through his fingers. He had an odd feeling that he really enjoyed wind. Eventually he passed out. It was needed after the weird day he had went through. He was out for quite some time and faded in and out when he was on Kore's back. Eventually he awoke again being carried he let the groggy feeling fade away and then was set down, they were in town now. There was quite the heavy amount of shady figures there. "Feeling the muggy vibes coming from this place, if you point me to the supply shop at some point I will be off your tail and back into the real world if you would like" he says as they entered town. Kore seemed really freaked out over the town and so was Zephyr, but his was more like 'Oh shit I might get mugged' while hers was probably more complex and justified. Zephyr was more or less profiling everyone.

As they entered the Bar Zephyr was hit by the smell of alcohol for the first time he woke up, he cringed real bad, almost to the point he fell over. Everyone in this place did not even compare to the people outside, they all looked like bandits to him. He had yet to go into a bar since he woke up because he had luckily just not passed by one up to this point and normally there was a whole lot of commotion going on in them so he just moved on. Kore sat him in a corner booth and told him to stay. Zephyr threw up a salute "
Understood, I won't move no matter what. If I bear comes I will accept my fate, if an asteriod hits the earth I will sit and die in this very booth. I am committed to this corner. I will even use the bathroom here if I have to" Zephyr says throwing his head onto the table and sticking his face to it "This is now my area, I claim it with my dead face cells" He says quickly rubbing his face up and down the table. She told him to be quiet but that seemed to just go into one ear and right out the other.

“Ryuji” Kaia rolled the name on her tongue slowly. Well at least she didn’t have to call him red head anymore. Unfortunately her attention was snatched away once more as the threatening abnormal began to get a little too close for comfort. Ryuji spoke tersely and seriously with the new girl that had approached them, then hollered an insulting statement at the odd corpse-like being. “Are you really sure you want to be taunting that thi-“ Kaia was half way through scolding Ryuji when once more she suddenly found her legs being swept up beneath her and she left the ground in a strange sense of déjà vu. As her captor took off at nearly break-neck speed, she yelped and flung her arms around his neck to keep from falling. She barely made out his apology for the princess carry with the wind whipping through her hair and tossing her hood about behind her. Tightly gripping his neck, Kaia’s cheeks once more took on a slight red glow at the frustration and embarrassment of having to be “saved” again, but she gritted her teeth and bore it at least for the time being.

For most of the run, her violet eyes were scrunched shut, but when she did open them from time to time, she could have sword she saw parts of Ryuji’s bare chest turning a bluish-purple color. When did that happen? She could have sworn they weren’t there before he’d picked her up and took off. At last, he slid to a halt as they reached a sketchy looking town, gently setting her down on wobbly legs and returning to that same meditative stance that she’d seen him in the night before. Her lips parted to give him a piece of her mind about taking off with her again, but then her eyes caught his through the slits in the fox mask. What she saw made her jaw recoil back into place. She could barely make out that part of his face through the mask, but what parts of his eyes that she could see were filled with pain. Pain that she recognized. Pain that she’d felt before herself. She could see his brown irises were masked by a flood of tears that made their way down behind the mask and fell to the ground. Kaia watched silently, wringing her hands as she waited for him to finish. At last the mask came off, the skin of his face glistening in the wake of where the tears had flowed. He dropped the mask and attempted to stand, uttering a quiet apology to someone named Hifumi, but his knees shook and he stumbled. Before he could fall and before Kaia really knew what she was doing, she’d dove underneath him, slinging his arm around her thin shoulders and stopping his descent.

“Not so fast, Ginger, you need to sit down,” the blue haired girl scolded him softly as she guided him to a spot in the sand and knelt down in front of him. Once more, she looked to his chest, this time able to get a good look at what appeared to be frostbite marring his bare skin. She scowled, causing the skin between her eyes to wrinkle in an almost cute fashion, as she searched her brain for any explanation it could give for where the burns came from. But the only he’d touched was….her. Could….could I have done this…? she realized inwardly, her violet eyes widening slightly. Clearing her throat, she began to remove her cloak. “You wouldn’t have this problem if you just wore a shirt, you know,” she reprimanded him, though again softly. The only frustration in her voice came simply from the fact that he was hurt. And for some odd reason she found herself concerned about it. Draping her cloak over the exposed, purplish areas, her lips parted once more. “Kaia,” she stated quietly, “My name...is Kaia.”

Vira frowned at the woman in front of her. Blinking, feeling a tug on her dress, she glanced down at the kid there her attention momentarily stolen. He had a bag of coin and a job offer. He handed her the money like it was nothing, but she noticed his ragged garments. Pausing, she took it, and turned back to the barkeeper.

Again her attention snapped away, when the door slamming open. Some guy dumped some poor sod into the bar. Vira narrowed her eyes, recognizing him as the idiot who had rudely bumped into her before. Now he was continuing to be rude; dumbly messing with the local gang, claiming some spot as 'his'. "You fool. This place is ruled by a gang, no area in this town belongs to anyone. It belongs to The One." She felt her anger rising. This man was going to make more trouble for the poor oppressed people of this town. Making more trouble from plain old stupidity really made Vira's blood boil. In her past, she had to deal with idiotic fools like this man. Remembering her wicked ways pained her in ways she didn't want to think about.

Suddenly some kid moved over to deal with the situation. He or she also had choice words for the masked man. At least the kid understood their position. After his words, the goon was tossed out haphazardly. Welp, that was bad, but whatever. Once the stupid masked man left the bar, Vira swept her gaze around the bar. A few of the people in there were clearly gang members, scowling at the scene before them; obviously angered at the mistreatment of their fellow gang member, you could see their growing grudge in their fierce eyes. Others were just some poor victims of this town, trying their hardest to forget, drinking away their problems. She did recognize a few familiar faces unfortunately: Jackson, Lucas, Plantbitch and the weird masked-injured person. Vira rolled her eyes, not enjoying these people following her into the bar, but guessed it made some sense. This was a place that oddly seemed to be one where you went to unwind. Almost neutral.. Until something like that scene seconds ago went down.

Finally, Vira turned her attention back to the lady that ran the place. So short-stuff over there was a 'he', and a bouncer of sorts? Interesting. Most likely an Abnorm then, if this lady relied on him so. When she carried on Vira stared flatly. Such an emotionless stare that you could guess the darkhaired chick didn't like what she was hearing; her face was set into a stone-cold glare. "Oh? Who then can afford a bounty on the gang and Big One himself?" she made her inquiry plainly, not whispering in fear.

"I'm impressed people spend what little they have here in my bar."

Her eyes scanned the place once more, and she stated flatly, "I think I know why." Vira groaned, turning away. This woman was ruder than she thought. Time to be rude in return. "Grah, you're more useless than I had expected you to be." Walking away, she plucked out the bottle from Oldman, it was half empty. Staring into it sadly, Vira popped it open and downed some of the bitter drink. She had only a bit of coin herself, and the pouch the kid brought her. None of which she currently wanted to waste on this place, strangely enough. Now what.

'I think you know,'
Ellie finally spoke up from the dark pit within Vira.

Vira narrowed her eyes, plugging the bottle, stepping towards the exit of the bar. Perhaps...

'You know.'

'Quiet! No. It's stupid. Reckless. Retarded. Do you really expect me to?..'

'Yes.'

"Grrr... Freakin' shit..!" Vira growled through gritted teeth at the exit of the bar.
