Lake CW McConaughy Zauber Base
The Incubator watched with unblinking and uncaring eyes as the Zauber staff of Lake CW McConaughy slowly drowned in the icy waters that had flooded into the underwater base. It was a shame really; such a promising new venture and outpost that had just finished core construction. A veteran staff, experienced batteries, and some of the oldest MADO were now lying lost at the bottom of the lake-bed. The Incubator gave a shake of its head as it watched the last human bodies stop their futile struggle and search for non-existent air. It had all just been bad timing really.2036/02/23
Lake CW McConaughy Zauber Base
The Angel had developed, moved, and evolved faster than predicted. The staff hadn't even had time to practice their new combat and evacuation procedures before the real thing had happened. The batteries had barely made it into the MADO before the Angel had ripped through the base into the MADO's pens. They were woefully unprepared or trained for combat that was soon taking place underwater. Once victorious against the MADO, the Angel had simply left; moving South West, likely towards the closest location with active MADO. A simple Angle type then that only sought destruction of MADO. Dangerous, but easy to track and plan against even for humans.
The Incubator began swimming through the hallways of cold water and floating corpses; making its way towards the deactivated MADO now outside the once protective metal shell of the base. The staff and batteries for this base were from Zauber HQ Colorado. The Incubator knew the chances of the new staff and newly contracted batteries of that base would have causalities if they didn't plan well for the coming Angel. It was a slight concern; too many batteries expiring limited future harvesting. However, those batteries were of unusual quality; perhaps they could make it through with no causalities despite the low probability. It wouldn't be the first time humans and batteries had surprised the Incubator before.
Spotting a clawed hole created by the Angel, the Incubator decided to use the newly made shortcut to reach its destination faster. Swimming through the hole into what once had been the main communications room, the Incubator paused its doggy paddling to see the numerous bodies floating in the room. Several paper files, thumb drives, and still ringing phones were scattered about the flooded room. Seemed these humans had done all they could to pass information to Zauber HQ. Pictures of the Angel, the likely route and speed the Angel was traveling on land towards Zauber HQ, reaching the location in approximately 12 hours, the core located in the center of the Angel had been exposed and damaged during the fighting. They had even sent an assessment on the Angel's capabilities; a moderate AT-Field, no long ranged attacks, effective in close-range combat, able to defeat several MADO in a confined space, ability to travel on land, sea, and possibly air.
All of the information looked to have been sent directly to the desk of Zauber HQ's new OO through an emergency link. The Incubator blink once before it resumed its doggy paddling through the corpses. The probability of casualties had decreased significantly. The humans had taken logical steps to ensure future survival, however it didn't understand why they had taken the time to give the Angel that had killed them a code name. AUSRINE.

It was a shit day for Lissa Yang.
Had started off bad with her standard four-hour duty managing the guards at the booths in front of HQ. A stupid drunk construction worker had actually thrown a can of beer at her and her staff… he had lost a few teeth and was now in holding.
Then she had been forced to babysit and guide the boot Magical Girls (MG) around like a tour guide. It was a weird group by even MG standards, pfft, they even had two dudes, that was rare. One was even the supposed team leader; that was just hilarious. Those brats were replacing the old team that moved up North to Nebraska, along with most of the Zauber HQ staff. Lissa didn't know why exactly they moved besides setting up some new base, but it had been a train wreck around here ever since anyone and everyone that knew what they were doing had left the base.
Lissa hated traveling down the base's hallways now. Even with the gaggle of teens it had felt empty without seeing the normal number of staff walking around. The place was also just naturally creepy with how sterile and clinical the staff tried to keep everything. Just white steel walls with bold painted on arrows, lines, and letters in English telling people where to go; along with crisp horror movie like tilled floor like you'd see in an old hospital.
Right as she had almost finished the tour of the creepy hallways and cafeteria; all hell had broken lose. Alarms blared and panic voices called out though the speakers "Eminent Angel Attack! Eminent Angel Attack!"
Now she was shoving and yelling her way past scientist, techs, and engineers scrambling around her acquired group of teens. She was able to reach the "Ready Room." A fairly large conference room that was meant for the Pilots to prep-in. A large table with uncomfortable looking office chairs easily fitting a dozen people, a television monitor for briefs, a phone directly linked to the OO and engineers in charge of the MADO, and a vending machine.
This was the location she was supposed to take the deploying Pilots; and it seemed Zauber was shit out of luck if these boots were really the deploying team. Lissa knew these guys had only been in their MADO one time to see if the thing worked. Hadn't even summoned a weapon yet... they were all f*ck. Thankfully one of the males was a team leader. He had been training for a little longer; had at least practiced with her summoned weapon and magic.
It had been one hour since the alarms started sounding and thirty minutes before everyone realized it wasn't just another drill and that they had no actual trained Pilots to send out. It was a stupid mistake and shitty timing. But the team up North was still supposed to cover them. Lissa wondered what had happened… she had friends up there.
She stood awkwardly in the room now that all the Pilots were here. Unsure if she should go back to organizing her guards or staying with the teens. The MADO pen crews or the OO were supposed to manage them now. Should she just lead them to the pens? Procedure said that they were supposed to get a briefing from the OO here before heading there though…
