Fandom Terraria: Journey In The Otherworld

"...Yeah, totally." Teruya rolled his eyes as he said somewhat sharply, holding his tools and continuing onward, seeming quite eager to get venturing as it were.

“If you ever need my assistance, please let me know! I am the Guide here.” He said as the duo exited. “Yeah, thanks!” Christian blindly responded. He then walks away from the house and proceeds to dwell further into the greenlands of the forest.

As they walked, Christian still felt the sting of pain from his bitten arm from last night. He had been so confused by the dream and so horrified from eating harpy nuggets, that he had forgotten to ask the Guide for a healing potion. He makes a sharp grunt from the bite wound he covered.

Teruya heard him but ended up tuning it out - and instead, he just keep going carefully and calmly - until he stops, turns around and noticed the slightly staggering Christian. "...Oh."

“Y-Yeah, I totally forgot to ask him.” Christian said, noticing that Teruya is staring at him. He then points to a small mountain, with a noticeable cave entrance, from afar. “Anyhow, is- is that the land formation he was talking about?” He asked.

Teruya turned back around and noticed it. "...It should be, yeah." He said simply. "I'm honestly a little unsure if it's gonna be safe underground, like, compared to... harmless little slimes...?" Teruya's tone shifted to nervousness as he laughed a little.

As they walk closer towards the mountain, they noticed that the cavern entrance, as the Guide had said, contains a bunch of brown clay pots just sitting there in the open. “Huh... the Guide wasn’t kidding.” Christian noted as he approached the clay pots. He attempts to reach his hand into the inside of the pot but... he can’t get to the bottom. Shrugging, he just opted to break the pot open using his dagger.

Teruya whistled upon noticing such, and noticing the cave would get dark, he pulled out a torch to illuminate the path. "I sure hope that's gonna be enough to restore that."

“So long it gets rid the sting of it,” Christian notes as he unwraps the wound on his arm. “I’ll be fine with it.” Then he sits there and pours the healing potion over his arm, where it pulsates and begins to close itself, leaving Teruya by himself to break some of his own pots.

"I hope so..." Teruya said as he would grip his pickaxe and swing it at the pots he would hopefully have nearby, eager to get his hands on at least something that was probably worth the effort.

"...Some kind of... drink? I don't quite know, maybe it's best I hold onto it for now and ask the Guide later." Teruya said, gripping his loot and intending to hold onto it.

Eventually, after his arm had healed completely, Christian narrowed his eyes and see something else in the shadows. It seemed to be... a chest! “Uh, hey- hey, Teruya,” He said. “Shine your torch over there. I think I see that chest the Guide was talking about.”

"Yup, on it." Teruya would do as suggested - with the torch he is holding, he shined it towards the chest, and sure enough... "...Ooooh... He wasn't lying, either. Very nice...! Now, what's inside... if we get there first."

They quietly approach the chest, seeing that it was made with a iron frame and a near-rotting wooden base. Christian kneels down and shakes the top of the chest for a second. “Just checking to see if it’s locked.” Christian told Teruya, in case he was curious why he did that, before he proceeded in opening the chest.

The treasures contained within it was a pile of coins, several unfamiliar-looking potions, and a giant metal spear and a little stick- the two things that caught their eyes the most. “What’s with this world and coins?” Christian pondered aloud. “In an island where a government doesn’t exist, I really doubt we could ever use these coins for nothing more than, maybe, smelting material or something.”

“Oh, and also- WHY IS THERE A HUGE-ASS SPEAR IN THIS THING?!
He suddenly exclaimed as he pulls the weapon out.

Teruya laughed in amusement and reached into the chest, pulling the 'stick' out. "...I'm either not well versed or I don't genuinely know what this is. There's more of those weird drinks in here, too..."

Christian laughs as he came up with a joke for it. “Hey, maybe you can use that as a magic wand or somethin’? Maybe call it a Sparking Stick?” He joked, making a smug little grin in the process.

"Wanna find out?" Teruya joked back and playfully pointed it at Christian in response, a smug expression on his face as well.

Suddenly, the wand fired a orange, fiery projectile at Christian where he, having not expected this, didn’t react in time to dodge it and was hit by it in the chest, causing his dry clothing to be set on fire! “AH! WHAT THE F#CK!? GAAAAAHHHHHHH!” He screamed as he immediately went to the grasslands, flops himself onto the ground, and starts rolling around to put it out.

Teruya seemed surprised at first and was at first laughing in amusement before he himself would just hold onto the stick. "Well, it turns out, you were right." He joked, continuing to laugh it off.

After freeing himself from the fire, Christian glares at Teruya, who was laughing at his expense. “Oh, shut the hell up! I could’ve burned to death!” He yelled as he rubs the dirt off of him.

Teruya just stood there without a word before he thought and responded - after his laughter was over of course. "Don't worry, I intend to." He said bleakly. "I didn't expect you to take this so seriously to the point even your joke was right. That's all." He added before just shrugging it off and intending to continue into the underground - the stick in hand and still seeming as passive as ever.

He stuttered a bit, confused why he considered his warning as a ‘joke’ before he gave up and followed alongside him.

As they eventually make their way to the underground, where natural light comes to die here, they find themselves in an abundance of cobblestone and various patches of dirt. "Oy... I think we're gonna need more torches to brighten this place up..." Christian noted.

"No kidding..." Teruya said simply. "There's no way the torches we have right now are gonna cover all this..."

Very quickly, Christian turns his eyes on something that interested him. It was a vein of iron ore, shining from the light of Teruya’s torch. “Oh! Ore!” He exclaimed as he pulls out his pickaxe and approach this vein. He starts picking it away like he did with a tree- pick and pick and pick, he chips off pieces of the iron ore vein.

Teruya laughs upon seeing Christian do so, unable to refrain from shaking his head in 'oh here we go' at the sight. He decided to say back at first, and eventually he himself joined in on the ore extraction, with his own pickaxe.
