Sword-and-Sorcery Adventures [Closed for now]

Daydreamer
Thread closed to further requests. I have as many partners as I can handle for now. I'll re-open when things slow down again!

I'm looking for partners who enjoy sword-and-sorcery or heroic fantasy. You know, all that classic stuff: elves, dragons, medieval settings, quests, etc. I like my roleplays light-hearted, comedic, awkward, but with occasional emotional depth and as many twists and intricacies in the plot as possible. If that sounds good to you, read on.

A Few Plot Ideas

1. Character A is a powerful demon. Or was, until a priestess/angel/etc. cast a spell upon him (or her), turning him into a mortal human who must do a number of good deeds if he wishes to regain his former power. Character B is a normal human (guy or girl), who comes across Character A right after this happened, and... helps out or something. Not sure what from there, but I really want to explore this as a comedic adventure, with the former-demon having to learn to deal with normal mortal things like eating and sleeping, and learning to be nice.

2. Teshia's Potion Shop, a quaint little store on the fringes of the town's shopping district, run by the eponymous Teshia and her assistant. The shelves are stocked with all sorts of elixirs, powders, and creams claiming a variety of effects both beneficial and maleficent. A sign on the counter declares discounts are available for those willing to be test subjects in the trial of Teshia's latest concoctions. Your character came into the shop for a reason, what might it be? Seeking a cure for some ailment, magical or mundane? Maybe something to use against an enemy? Or maybe they were just curious. Curious enough to be a test subject? Either way, this could make for some fun little scenarios.

3. Got any OCs you love to play? I have a handful of characters up for adventure. Let's throw a few together and send them on some quest. They could meet randomly in a tavern, or passing by on the road, or by a mysterious ruin. Maybe they were hired by a strange person to escort or deliver some thing or someone. I dunno, let's just have fun with it.

So... that's it. Any takers? Post or pm and we can discuss plots and all that fun stuff. I'm definitely open to hearing your ideas, too.

This sounds interesting, I'm intrested.

I quite like the first idea

It's just a possibility but maybe the first idea could be a bit like this:

Extremely powerful dragon gets sealed by magician. Innocent mortal passer by is in wrong place at wrong time leading for magician to seal dragons powers within him/her. This causes the dragon to be in human form and not be able to move any further then a cirtin radius away from mortal without serve pain. So they just kind of get forced together.

That could be fun. I'll PM you so we can discuss it. =D

About Me and My Requirements

  • Length of a post doesn't matter much to me, as long as it moves the story along. I believe all posts should include:
    1. A reaction to what happened in the previous post
    2. What the character thinks or feels about it
    3. Then something for the other character to respond/react to in the next post

If you can do all that in just a couple lines, great.

  • That said, I tend to write around 1-2 paragraphs on average, more if I'm describing a new scene or playing more than one character, less if I'm aiming for banter or other quick-paced conversation between the characters.
  • I do not appreciate gore or excessive violence, so leave that out, please.
  • I'm not interested in romantic roleplays at this time. I'd much rather explore other kinds of relationships, like friendships, mentor & student, family members, or even two people who don't much like each other but are stuck together.
  • I'm usually able to post daily, but sometimes life happens or I feel uninspired. In those cases I try to respond at least once a week, and I try to let you know when my posts will be delayed.
  • I know everyone says this and it rarely works in practice (I'm certainly guilty of it myself), but lets try to communicate with each other whenever the story seems to be losing steam or we're losing interest.
  • I prefer to discuss the plot a bit ahead of time, and brainstorm together over what happens next. Please be willing to contribute ideas and help play minor characters/npcs/etc.
  • I usually play female characters, but have nothing against playing male. I also enjoy playing multiple characters.
  • I prefer to roleplay in thread, but PM is fine too. I also only do 3rd person.

Number 3 sounds very interesting to me. Mainly because I just made a character and I'm dying to use them.
