The alarm clock went off, filling the room completely up with the annoying sound. Opening one eye, letting a groan escape her lips as she didn’t feel like getting up. The warmth of her blanket already completely engulfed her, making her feeling really comfortable where she was at. However she knew she couldn’t delay it, after all it was a working day. Reluctantly she got up from her bed, letting the cold crash into her body, making her shiver on the spot. It didn’t help that winter was about to start anytime soon now. Letting her dark brown eyes go over the clothes in her closet [which was way too big but it was necessary for her amount]. Letting her fingers stop at the pieces she felt like wearing and took them out. Her outfit was pretty simple and comfortable to wear. Consisting of a pink sweater and a checkered skirt, of course not to forget the panties due to the cold air.

After washing up and making herself look presentable, she got into the kitchen at 6.30am. She still had quite some time before she had to go to the café so she could make a nice breakfast for herself. Deciding on the menu which would be: rice, miso soup, koji salmon and gome-ae green beans. A traditional Japanese breakfast. It was similar to the Korean one so it was easy to make as she had already grown accustomed to most dishes in the past. It took a bit of time before everything was ready. But it made her work even tastier. With a smile she dug in, checking her cell phone as she didn’t have anything else to do. Seeing some random memes and cute pictures of those she followed on Instagram and facebook.

Cleaning up everything once she was finished and then head out. Her breakfast time took a bit longer than she though so she had to run. Putting on the first pair of boots she could find and almost ran out of the door. She only had about ten minutes left to get there. Jogging her way through the streets until she reached the familiar building. Sighing in relief that she had a minute or two to spare before other employees would enter. Opening the door, letting the closed sign stay put as she still had to do some preparations such as cleaning the spots that were overlooked last night.

Putting on the characteristic apron of the building before she took out the cleaning materials. The cold air really woke her up so she was all fresh and ready to start the day.

It was 5:00 am when Nicklaus stepped into his home. The tall male traveled without noise over the dense grey carpet, littered with cigarette ashes that was knocked over illuminated by the strip-lights above. Now they were just plastic casings on the crudely artexed ceiling, about as useful as a knife in a gunfight. It was an old apartment that was practically falling apart but Klaus had no issue with it, home is where you feel warm and comfortable right? The grey paint on the walls chipping, wall near the window in the living room covered with bullet holes, the black wood furniture filled with scratches from all the stray cats he brought home. Cats were the only living thing he put his guard down for, reason his face and arms were filling with claw marks. Removing the long black coat laying over his broad shoulders he faced the clock placed over the TV while tossing the coat on a chair. “It’s four already?” He murmured before striding towards the bathroom to get ready for work. Klaus had two jobs one that was unpredictable with no agenda so it made it hard to figure out if he would make it to his second one at times but never did he miss a day.

Once he finished his cold shower he stepped out wearing his usual attire, soulful blue colored button top, dark jeans, and black dress boots. Klaus didn’t worry about his messy black mane, walked around with wet hair and once dried it fell in its place effortlessly. 5:31,Instead of enjoying the aroma of croissants, toast, hash browns and all the other confectioneries you could possibly imagine for breakfast in the morning a smell of smoke coming out of a cigar, and black coffee was what lingered around the kitchen. However he did take a minute or two to sit and enjoy his dark coffee pulling out today's newspaper and skimming through it. A sigh of annoyance slipped his thin lips throwing the newspaper onto the table when he heard his phone. Looming up he takes the phone before walking to the couch grabbing his black coat.

After stepping outside already wearing his coat he slipped his black gloves on. The coat was jet black and reached his calves, only had a few black buttons, and smelled like his natural scent; patchouli. He started walking to the shop that was only a few blocks away. Taking a deep breath he could smell the rain being held back by the heavy grey clouds and the freshly cut grass from the park across. Walking to work was the only time in his day he actually felt at peace. Slowing down when he reached an alleyway he takes a step back tilting his head towards a box hearing small mews “Think I have a second or two to spare,” he tells himself shifting his body and stepping into the ally.

Before he knew it he was outside the shop with a scratch nicely placed around his jaw starting from the center of his cheek down to his neck “What a nice cat…” he smiled still thinking about its fluffy black ears. He knocked on the glass leaning in knowing there was at least one soul inside.

Taking out the mop from the back together with some water and soap. The smell resembles that of jasmine, spreading across the room. The gentle scent slipping into her nose, making her smile unconsciously. It felt like spring again instead of the harsh winter days. Once the floor was mopped, it almost seemed to radiate due to the light shining upon it, yet it wasn’t to the point where it became a partial mirror. Putting the cleaning products back into their place after throwing out the unclean water. Even the storage was neat, almost no piece of a dust to be seen. It was one of the things she had picked up at a young age. No matter the person, a clean house was always a nice hello. The windows were still clear so she didn’t have to do those anytime soon.

Just as she was about to sit down on one of the chairs, she noticed a dark figure standing in front of the café. Smiling as she recognized the other, indicating for him to come inside as the door was already unlocked. This person was one of the factors that the shop became a little more interesting as not everyone had a western employee in it. Though Ji-Min wasn’t from Japan either, there was still a difference between him and her. At least that was what she was told by people who stopped by. Despite being known as timid people, they still outed their opinions, one just had to listen well.

Noticing a brand new scar on the male’s face which made her sign in return. It was probably one of the cats that hung around in then neighbourhood. ”What happened?” Ji-Min asked as she gestured towards the red line on his face which was pretty visible. At least it wasn’t bleeding so that was already something. Want me to disinfect it? I still have some of it in the back.” She suggested, already standing up again from her seat, about to make her way there if he agreed with her helping.

Nicklaus stepped in the second she had seen him and motioned him inside, he learned his lesson not to barge in and sneak up on people through someone's pepper spray. Pulling out one of the many chairs with his leg while neatly removing his coat he takes a seat kicking his legs out and laying his head back so his face was facing the ceiling. “Yes that would be wonderful darling thank you,” he answered his louder tone made it easier to catch the British accent. “What happened? A cat in a box happened. Came across one a block away near Lola’s flower shop. Why do people leave them out in boxes as if they were a pair of old shoes…” brows slightly narrowed his silver orbs glancing over towards the direction she walked off to while setting the coat down.

The tall male took in a deep breath, immediately catching those all too familiar hints of jasmine that lingered in the air. The aroma of the cozy little shop brought back fond memories and was a fine contrast to the distinct smells of the city outside. He stretched a bit, his broad shoulders still sore from his previous outing. Nicklaus’ tired eyes remained fixated on the ceiling above him—almost as if he had found himself in deep contemplation. Moments later he had snapped out of his trance and averted his attention towards Boa.

“What about you Cinderella, how is your morning going? Polished our cleaning tools as well?” he asked with a subtle smile, it carried just the right amount of mischief and amusement. If Nick had to pick who the cleaning award went to it would definitely be Boa. The girl currently made everyone's job easier and the place better to look at. The bakery was a galley of a shop. So much of the space had been taken up and the mouth-watering displays that the customers were left to squeeze in and out. As much as he teased her for it he was all to appreciative of her efforts, even if he wouldn't dare to tell her directly.

When he agreed for the disinfectant, she nodded curtly and went to the back of the house again to get the supplies. Shaking her head as she wondered why the guy always ended up with a new scratch almost every day. One would think he got into a fight but due to the time she had worked with Nicklaus, she came to know that he really wasn’t like that. At least not that she knew about. His soft hard when it came to animals was actually pretty cute, but she wouldn’t say it. A faint smile still lingering on her lips when she got back into the front of the shop. When the other started about an abandoned cat, she hummed in response as she took place in front of him. Putting some of the disinfectant on the tissue and carefully dipped on the red line. Making sure she wouldn’t press too hard yet at the same time make sure she got rid of all the possible dirt that could be in it.

It’s becoming a usual sight these days…” She agreed with Nicklaus, feeling sad as she thought about how these animals must feel. If she could she would take them all in but she couldn’t since she was mostly not home. The most she could manage was a goldfish. ”If they’re still there when we close, I could take them to an asylum one of my friends work at.” She suggested, it was the least she could do for them. It wasn’t that far either, though she’d always go back in a hurry as she didn’t like to walk back home alone in the dark…

Once done she put everything back in her little aid kit. When she was called Cinderella, she groaned as she knew all too well that it was of her cleaning habit. ”I can’t help it… Everything just looks better when cleaned.” She muttered back in response, pouting. Standing up to take the stuff back to where it belonged. ”At least Cinderella had a good ending.” She said silently on the way back. Once back, she commanded Nicklaus: ”Put the open sign in front. It’s 8 a.m.”
