Jamie smiled seeing Kiyota blush and look away from him. He wasn’t lying, she was really pretty. Jamie nodded in agreement to hoping they had something in common. He knew how little communication they would have if they didn’t have anything in common. Jamie noticed she was a bit hesitant to take his arm and he felt somewhat bad. Hopefully, it was just her being nervous. He didn’t really want to scare her, but he also didn’t care at the same time.
As they left together, Jamie thought over things they could talk about. “So what do you do for fun?” Jamie asked. He was willing to show Kiyota around if he needed to. He wasn’t sure if a servant was planning on doing so already or not. Jamie didn’t mind at all being the one though. He was assuming his parents were leading them to a guest room, but it seemed like they were leading somewhere else. He was confused why she wouldn’t be in a guest room, so maybe he was just forgetting something. Jamie was surprised when they ended up in Jamie’s room. Kiyota had her own bed on the opposite side of the room and her stuff was already in there. Something about her being in this room already pushed Jamie over the bar. It set him off knowing that a girl was going to be in his room that he barely knew. “What is this?” He snapped at his parents. His parents seemed to look disappointed when they heard Jamie’s tone. They were almost done welcoming Kiyota. “Jamie, be nice.” His mother spoke. Jamie walked over to his dad and grabbed his arm. “She’s a girl from an outsider kingdom, why is she already being trusted to be here?” Jamie questioned. His father sighed and moved Jamie’s arm away. “Be nice to Princess Kiyota. She deserves a chance.” Kiyota said. Jamie was about to say something else, but his mother spoke up again. “Jamie, you and Kiyota are the future of this kingdom. Be nice to her and get to know her, okay?” She told Jamie. Jamie didn’t respond to his mother and just walked out of the room. His mother looked at Kiyota and hugged her. “I’m so sorry, Princess Kiyota. He will soften up to you, I promise.” She told her.
