Tessel Zh'ivatrihr

Tessel, hearing the announcement of the ship reading to take off, hurried down the corridor to the turbo lift and then requested the bridge. Of everything going on, she did not want to be the last at her station.

Thankfully, as the turbo lift doors opened, the crew were still scrambling to their places, readying for take off. She took her seat at the science station and checked in with her teams, signalling that the science department was ready and at their stations across the ship.

Rion Kennet

Rion frowned but nodded as Melody sounded off her report regarding the warp core. It still didn’t answer the question of what had happened, and only that it had. He waited impatiently as the crew scrambled to their stations to prepare.

He paused, hearing the doctor com him; at first, he thought there might be an emergency or a problem with their plans to take off. He was relieved, partly, to hear it was just the doc doing his due diligence in keeping the crew safe. “Heard.” He acknowledged.

Rion turned as he was called by Isabel, considering. “Let’s hope we don’t have a need for phasers getting out of this place …” He paused, then went on. “Keep an eye on the shields, report in if they stop regenerating - perhaps we can divert some power from other systems to boost them temporarily? At least until we’re out of here.”

Once he received the all-stations-ready report back on his console he spoke to their pilot. “Take her up, nice and easy.”

"I'll work with the remaining scientists from the experimental lab to figure out the cause captain." Melody assures him, she'd need the acting chiefs Engineers help for that, so apparently it'll have to wait a bit, but no crewmember should work while looking to pass out, that'd cause problems, but that's fine, sleep was important too.

The state of the ship's weapons and shields are concerning, but nothing too bad, which is good "We currently have nothing planted in the hydroponics bay captain, maybe we could divert power from those systems until it's fixed?"

Leonard Kingston,
Acting chief medical officer

"Of course people get grumpy when I help them, geez." Leonard mumbles under his breath, while he knew that exhaustion might make some people act different then they usually are, so he's not too bothered by it other then the fact that Yxra doesn't seem to care about her own overall health, with all the senior staff dead, aside from the Commander and Captain that is, they needed to take the responsibility for the position until promotions are given.

Isabel Fey, Acting Chief Tactical Officer
Interactions: Melody( Flame Demon Flame Demon )

Isabel looked up slightly as the intercom came to life filling the bridge with the voice of someone from sickbay. She couldn't place the voice but it definitely wasn't the origional chief medical officer, clearly that was another department that had had a reshuffle due to losses in the crash. Isabel had made only the briefest stop off in Med-bay after the crash, just long enough for the EMH to confirm that she wasn't in any danger from her injuries before she moved on. A medical officer had checked in on her later but this voice didn't sound like him either. She was, however, much more familiar with the new acting chief engineer, it being a more safety critical position, and she could easily imagine Yrxa working herself to exhaustion, especially given how quickly she and her team had affected repairs.

Isabel's eyes were focused on the pit assessing the captain, it was clear he was feeling the pressure, from his short response, but he was amazingly calm considering they were about to exceed the Phoenix's limits yet again by attempting a planetary take off. She was about to respond to the captains request when the XO chimed in. To know that off the top of her head suggested an impressively detailed knowledge of the ships current status, her scores at the academy were clearly well earned. Isabel nodded firmly towards Melody, before scanning the bridge, seeing no engineering crew currently on station she temporarily slaved power control to her console "Aye Commander, attempting to overcharge remaining emitters now.". A few swipes on the screen pulled power from the hydroponics bay which she then carefully and slowly fed into the remaining shield emitters on the hull. A faint blue distortion appeared over section of the hull as the strengthening field barrier interacted with the atmosphere, the gently falling snow now sliding off an invisible surface and evaporating without hitting the hull.

As she worked Isabel kept an eye on the view screen, on the captains command the hull groaned as manoeuvring thrusters fired and begun to lift the bow. The bridge seemed to hold a collective breath as the view screen changed from snow covered ground to sky. The ship then seemed to come alive with a thrum as it's impulse engines came to life and it began lifting off.

Medical Officer- D'Artagnan

D'Artagnan was in the medical bay sitting at his desk filling out some paperwork and looking up medical documents of the other crewmembers. He felt somewhat relieved he was doing this after quite a stressful time tending to the sick a few hours ago. He was glad they would get off this planet since being here has only caused problems for him. He stood up from his desk and walked over towards the replicator, "Tea, Earl Grey, hot." He said waiting as the replicator gave him a cup of tea. Sitting back in his seat he wished he was back in his quarters reading his favourite novels. Right now he was enjoying Sharpe's Waterloo by Bernard Cornwell. He was enamoured by the period and the character of Richard Sharpe. Being a swashbuckling soldier seemed like more fun than being a doctor on a spaceship.

Rion nodded as Melody suggested they divert power from the hydroponics lab. It was a relief to know they could divert power to the shields, at least during lift-off. He maintained his outwardly calm expression as their pilot announced their measures for take off aloud. Within he could feel his stomach flip, concerned of repeating the previous crash inadvertently. Despite Melody's reassurance they had taken precautions; he knew better than not plan for the worst.

The ship groaned and moaned in the initial lift, giving a rumbling quake and he was aware of a few gasps among the new-senior staff on the bridge. There had been such a shuffle in authority that he couldn't blame them; some only had a few months under their belts out of the academy and the new positions they found themselves in would be a trail by fire for most.

Thankfully, the ship settled swiftly as it continued to ascend from the planet and then the through the atmosphere until finally the pilot could announce they had successfully exited the planets orbit.

"Good, now that we've got a better few, bring up the local star map." He stood from his chair, as though that would garner a better view of the map as it was put up on screen. Having come up through the ranks as a pilot himself, he swiftly searched the stars and planets for anything familiar and found none. "Ensign, set heading 351-mark-10 and engage at warp three." They needed to find something familiar. "Officer Zh'ivatrihr, continue scans; I want to know what's out there."

Yrxa had managed to scramble into her cabin just as lift-off was shaking the ship. Her joints and stomach were apt to protest- but as soon as she stepped foot into her quarters, the ills eased off. If anyone were to enter, they may be taken aback by the subtle change in gravity.

Yrxa was careful when she had made the adjustments to the environment. Too much and everyone would be swimming about in the small space. Too little and either there’d be no effect.. or the adverse might happen and cause everything to become laden down and sluggish.

Regardless, Yrxa collapsed into her bed, uniform still on, and fell into a deep sleep. Star around knew she needed it. Hopefully it would cause her to be refreshed if it was only for a short time..

Melody lets out sigh of relief when they exit the planets orbit and only now realizes she had quite a tight grip on the armrest of her chair, she had half expected that the ship just gave up during the ascent, espcially since the issue seemed to stem from the warp core. She looks at the star map and frowns slightly, wondering if they had somehow gone through a wormhole too.

"Captain, since we're now back into space maybe we could assign day and night shifts, it would be beneficial for the crew since they'll have time for themselves and time to sleep." she suggests, and since one of their acting senior officers had quite frankly ignored her health they probably should start rotating too, but that's up to the captain.

"Be careful you don't spill that over the computer." Leonard says, he himself has some coffee in his hand with Melody's black cat curled up on his lap, he didn't mind petsitting though, especially since some patients found it calming to pet a cat or dog, mostly the human crewmembers though.

He takes a deep breath when the ship shakes and releases that when they don't fall back down, that means they succeeded, with getting of the planet at least, that's something, considering they didn't make the ship to take of directly from the planet itself.

D'Artagnan looked over at Leonard before going back to focusing on the computer screen. "Don't worry I wouldn't make a mess." For a moment he side eyed the cat feeling annoyed the feline was around him. Sipping his tea before looking over at Leonard. "I am glad we are getting off this god forsaken planet." He lifted his cup from the table as the ship started to shake.

Putting his cup back on the table before going back to looking over crew documents. The Caitian hoped the next venture was going to go more smoothly.

Isabel Fey, Acting Chief Tactical Officer
Interactions: Flame Demon Flame Demon (Melody), NanLia NanLia (Rion, Tessel)

Isabel let out a sigh of relief as the view screen filled with the blackness of space, the Phoenix finally getting spaceborn again. A quick glance down at her panel showed that the sensor's weren't picking up any power signatures in their surroundings so she stayed quiet as the captain ordered an astronav map be displayed. She glanced at it along with everyone else but navigation was never something Fey was particularly interested in so she turned her attention back to running diagnostics on the tactical systems. She did glance up again when the captain ordered a course, clearly he had seen something that he recognised, the ship seemed to gather itself for a moment before the stars stretched out as the ship accelerated to super-luminal speeds.

Isabel took a deep breath in slowly releasing it, as intel officer she had successfully avoided having to deal to much with the ships computer, nothing big had come up, but as acting tactical she likely would need to, and it would be poor to have her first time be in the middle of battle. She pulled a cable out of one of the pouches on her belt and connected one end to her wrist and the other, with another sigh, to one of the data ports on her console. Immediately her awareness seemed to expand, one part of her was standing on the bridge looking out on the star map another part was standing in front of a door standing alone, faint script moving across it's surface. As she "opened" it her implants completed the handshake with the ships central computer core, the core easily accepting the command codes that were held within her, and the door dispersed filling what was blank space with a thousand lines of data from the results of the latest scan to the paperwork currently being filled out in the medical bay, then she was hit with a rubber duck.

The reason that she had been avoiding this up to now is that despite Star Fleets "uniformity" each ship computer was slightly different and held different quirks, they gave each system a sort of personality. While most of the systems were passive, happy to sit there in the background, NX ships always held more personality, their prototype nature encouraging designers to work small easter eggs into the computer cores. The programmers on the phoenix had thought creating a small rubber duck hologram that tried to install onto non-standard star fleet systems would be fine, Afterall only engineers would ever do that and they would appreciate the joke. Sadly Isabel did not appreciate it as the computer lobbed virtual rubber ducks at her system, it was milliseconds of work to quickly change the program to accept her as a piece of standard equipment but she still flinched slightly on the bridge in reaction to the onslaught.

Now safe from any more flying bath toys Isabel to the time to look around the new computer system, it felt different to usual, there were distinct separations to the ships systems where systems were connected to the computer core but there were obvious boundaries present designed to limit data spread from specific components. Most of these data walls were present around the tactical systems; weapons, shields and sensors but several of the more critical engineering systems around the warp core also seemed to posses these safeguards. Having completed her cursory exploration Isabel nodded along with Melody's plan, getting shifts up and running would be important for helping the crew settle back down into a new routine.

Digitally she was setting up a surveillance room when she suddenly paused on the camera feed of the temporary morgue, filled with the various dead from the crash. Isabel waited until the captain finished with Melody before speaking up; "Captain, It would be prudent to enter orbit around a star soon to allow us to hold a funeral and commit our dead to the void." her voice was calm, she didn't have time to bond very well with anyone in the crew before the crash.

"I feel like we shouldn't do that in orbit, as we wouldn't know what gravity a planet has in this area and if the dead would stay in space or get dragged down to the surface." Melody says, though she raises an eyebrow at the flinch, did the engineers do something that wasn't good for the system? Though Isabel would've mentioned that right? Then she remembers that the Phoenix is a prototype and who knows what tricks they put into the programming "Anyway, I'll run a scan if I'm in astronomics for planets similar to Earth, though hopefully less cold then the previous one." she says.

While she had been on forced bedrest for two days, and she knew what Leonard would do if he found her outside her room, she had studies some of the star systems in the sector they were in "Finding something with a drydock would be the best, but that might be a bit far stretched, especially if most civilisations aren't at warp capacity yet.", and she had to do more work in the experimental lab too, which she honestly doesn't mind, it allows her to think about something other then the crash.

"You know this cat saved a few officers down in the experimental lab right?" Leonard questions, seeing D'Artagnan side eye Shadow "And she's friendly, plus some crewmembers find her presence calming.", he had no rules concerning pets in sickbay, hell he'd offer to petsit the four legged friends of the commander and captain if he wasn't acting chief "Also it's curious, you have cat like features, yet you dislike the cat.", might as well take some amusement in that fact. However his leg is falling asleep so he picks Shadow up, putting the feline on the stool next to him before standing up to stretch his legs "Seems we're back in space, wherever that is we probably don't know yet, that said, you guys can walk around now.".

"Oh, I'm sure it has by coughing up a hairball or two for studying." D'Artagnan cracked his neck from side to side. Sipping his tea before finally chugging it. "I'm just not a big fan of your earthly felines. Your earth rodents however are a preferred companion for me." The large feline alien stood up before stretching out his arms and legs. "Good to hear because I think I need a drink." He looked over at Dr.Kingston before smiling a toothy grin. 'I'm kidding of course." Walking out of the room and heading towards the lounge area. Taking the turbo-lift down towards the floor but wanted to stop in on one of the engineering officers. This particular officer he had quite a crush on.

As he walked into the room where the engineer officer was working on at her desk. He made his way over leaning on the console. "Are you still working?" He asked to which she turned her head looking quite annoyed she was being bothered.

"Yeah, I still got a lot of work to do. I still need to make sure that our engines don't go out." Turning back towards her computer screen to which D'Artagnan was kneeling down beside her.

"Well, when you are available would you like to meet me in the longue area?" D'Artagnan was smiling but the woman was still looking at her screen.

"Sorry I don't think I'll be able to be there, I'm probably gonna be done in a couple of hours." She kept typing away on the computer.

"Maybe we could meet later when you're available?" He asked now standing up on his feet.

"Perhaps depending on if the shit doesn't hit the fan again." She smiled softly before speaking again. "I'll come to your quarters or maybe at the sickbay if you're still there, and then we can get a drink." Of course, this was a lie to get D'Artagnan to leave her alone and let her work.

The Catian nodded before going back to the turbo lift and heading towards the rec room.

There was almost a collected sigh of relief as the ship left orbit of the frozen hell they'd encountered and moved smoothly away from it. Rion wouldn't lie that he'd been ... concerned with the decision. Everything from this point forward until they were back within familiar space would be concerning, but that was the job. Shoulder the weight so the crew could continue. Be their strenght.

He turned in his seat as their new, acting, tactical officer offered a suggestion of a funeral. He didn't disagree, they needed to mourn their dead and set them at peace. At the moment, his priority was getting the living home safe.

Melody spoke up, cautioning selecting an orbit, suggesting they find an appropriate dry dock to further repairs. A grand idea, if only he had any clue where they were.

"Agreed to both -" He said simply. "We will search for an appropriate planet that we can utilize as a dry dock; let's keep General Order One in mind. With our limited sensors and systems, we need to triple check any place we decide on. Once we find it, we'll give our fallen crew rest." Not an easy decision but it needed to be done. "Commander Kirk," He continued. "Advise me personally if anything comes up in your lab."

"Yes Captain, work might be a bit slower with the crew thinned like this, but I'll make it work." Melody says, she'd probably take some of the Captain's burden too since this wasn't something they were trained for, at all "We may need to train some of the medical personel as field medics too, in case we have multiple groups on a planet." she suggests "We also need to consider giving promotions, we can't have people as acting senior staff for too long.".

She's extremely glad to be safely in space, but still, if they got there by accident then the Borg might already be in that area, which isn't something she wants to think about right now if she's being honest.
