Name: Leonard Kingston
Age: 27
Personality:
Grumpy, of course, since he's on a ship full of idiots (in his opinion), he's loyal and won't leave his crew to die, even if the odds of them surviving are slim to none, he doesn't favor anyone and when you're within his sickbay he will expect you to follow the rules he set. Underneath all his grumpy behavior he's very caring and he has a great bedside manner.
Position & rank: Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer
Species: Human
Appearance: He has a scar across his face from the fight with the Borg that killed his family.
9f5b50a7e93ca3d14bc3a69a948fe595.png
Family: No one, they're all dead
Friends: Melody Kirk (they often tease each other)
Enemies: Borg, as they took his entire family
Background: (only visible for the higher ups)
Leonard grew up in the city, living with his parents next to Melody and her parents before she moves away. He stayed there until the Borg invaded Earth and started taking hostages, his parents, one tactical officer and one science officer, refused when they were about to be taken away, getting them killed in the process. Leonard survived because he was protected, but he disappeared of the radar after that, vowing to become a doctor and make sure as less people as possible die. With that in mind he entered Starfleet academy, asking for his past to be visibly only for the admirals and the possible captain and commander he would serve, he didn't need anyone's pity. He did take a medical class that specializes in hybrids as it was getting more and more common for species to marry someone from a different species, he also lost a bet which caused him to take an engineering class as well. After he graduated he was to be assigned on Voyager, but kept bothering the admirals until he got the same assignment as his friend, though he made a good argument that they needed people specialized in hybrids on all ships and Voyager already had one.

Name: Tessel ‘Tess’ Zh'ivatrihr
Age: 25
Personality: Tess is quite straightforward, her upbringing and seclusion from many other races in her youth making her socially awkward at times. She is enthusiastic to learn new technology and techniques, and even interests herself in learning more about the nature and species of her crewmates. Tess has a strong moral grounding which has led to conflict with orders in the past.
Rank: Chief Science Officer, Lieutenant Commander
Species: Aenar, Subspecies of Andorian
Appearance: Pale blue, nearly white skin. Two tubular antennae. Thick white hair tied back while on duty. Her hair is dreadlocked, often bound with coloured bands.
Family: Sab Zh'ivatrihr - Father
Friends: A few remaining from her days in the academy, she has yet to make any with her new crew.
Enemies: None
Background: Tess grew up in seclusion before her mothers death, her and her people are few and remain segregated from the Andorians despite being welcomed into their society. She was taught her people's history, along with the history of the Andorians they share a planet with.

Her mother’s passing was swift; after falling ill with a terminal disease it was not long before she passed and Tess was left alone with her father. He was distraught and couldn’t stand the idea of living in their old home and community. They moved to Laikan, the capital of Andor, where her father took on a professor position in a prestigious university.

This change led to exposing Tess to thousands of other cultures and people and worlds and inspired her interest in searching the stars. She applied and was accepted to the StarFleet Academy and graduated with honors.

Name: Rion Kennet
Age: 35
Personality: Calm and level headed, Rion is quick of thought and endlessly patient. He has earned himself a reputation for seeking out officers and enlisted that are ... troublemakers of their own right; while most Captains would seek out the best or perfection he knows that the most spirited are often the best crew a captain could ever ask for.
Rank: Captain
Species: Humanoid, from Alpha Proxima II
Family: Mother & Father - deceased
Oldest Brother, wife and two nieces
Older Brother, partner, three nephews
Friends: Few and far between
Enemies: None personally
Background: Rion grew up the youngest of three boys on Alpha Promina II to Taliesin and Kalyn Kennet, a rather poor family from the quickly growing overpopulated planet. Alpha Proxima II had limitations in place for families with more than one child; taxing them severely in an attempt to discourage multiple children and encourage adoption. Among these restrictions: higher education for only the first born (or surviving) child of any said family and the same privilege's passed down to their own genetically born children. Children born after the first must be home educated and did their genetically born children did not earn privilege's to education.
This left Rion little choice, with nothing but what his mother could teach him and not wanting to pass along squalor to any children he may eventually had, Rion looked onto other opportunities to further himself. The first came at 13 when the Capitol City's Embassy for the Federation opened up enrollment for trade apprentices. He enrolled for testing only to discover an aptitude for piloting and navigation. He was enlisted into the Federation Training where he was educated and his love for knowledge expanded.
At 18 he moved from Alpha Proxima II to Earth to complete his training and enlist with Star Fleet. It was on Earth where he first discovered pets; a novelty he had never heard of on his own planet, and quickly feel in love with dogs, particularly Cane Corso's.
During his first tour of service on his first ship his Captain took a liking to him and set him on the fast track to becoming a Captain himself. The day he earned his pips his former first Captain, now Admiral gifted him his first pet which he named Astraeus. The dog follows him endlessly and seems entirely at home on the ship.
Pets: Cane Corso, Astraeus

Name: Yrxa Emmerson

Age: 24

Personality: reserved and work focused. Yrxa tries to achieve her assignments and goals with the utmost attention and care. She’s okay at idle conversion but can be a bit hot-blooded when it comes to her passions (most blame her bajoran half). There are parts of Yrxa that seem to blossom only during certain circumstances, ie: in stressful time crunches she really shines. She may be a bit of an odd ball during day to day interactions, but she really does try to be a normal every day person.

Yrxa can be sensitive to gravity and gravitational anomalies at times.. a curse carried over from her Elaysian genes. It can cause her to feel unwell or cranky.

Position & rank: lt. Acting Chief Engineer

Species: third Human, third Bajoran, third Elaysian.

Appearance: very small bajoran nose ridges, looks mostly human.

Family: all passed. Distantly related to Kira Nerys.

Friends: N/A

Enemies: people who don’t borrow her tools and don’t return them.

Background: Yrxa grew up running around DS9, Bajor, and other deep-space allied planets. Her family was assimilated when the borg invasion started. She was away in the academy at that time. (More to come as the play progresses)

Pets: NA.

Name: Isabel Fey

Age: 29 (Isabel), 346 (Fey)

Personality:
A slightly at odds mix of bubbly and highly logical, Isabel has got used to being around people now and often hides some of her unnatural intelligence behind her bubbly personality. Thanks her cybernetics her ability to multitask is vastly improved, it is possible for her to split her attention simultaneously across multiple jobs, such as talking at the same time as analysing sensor data. She often she comes across as absent minded because of this as she gets distracted by another process that she was focussed on in the background, she's better these days at focusing on the now but if she wasn't expecting the conversation she will often trail off at odd points before resuming the conversation moments later. She loves physical activity and will often leave her body running through exercises almost on automatic if she has something she want to puzzle over.

Position: Acting Chief Tactical Officer/ Intelligence Officer

Rank: Lieutenant Commander

Species: Bonded Cybernetically Enhanced Trill

Appearance: She has a data port embedded under each wrist and her left eye glows a dim blue in the dark. She has lots of thin scars around her spine and hidden under her hair.

Family:
Adoptive Father - Vulcan Cyberneticist recently moved back to Vulcan called Vaus

Friends: TBC

Enemies: No Personal Enemies

Background:
Born as part of a synthetic intelligence project at the Daystrom Institute she underwent significant cybernetic implantation at birth. She was adopted by the Project Lead Seran Fey and his Partner Vaus while she developed as part of the project, frequently undergoing further implantation. The project was eventually deemed a failure as it ran out of funding having had no luck creating and sustaining a copy of Isabel's consciousness.
When she was 14 she got extremely sick due to her implants tricking her body into thinking it was joined. In an act of love and desperation Seran removed the Fey symbiont from himself and implanted it within his daughter to stabilise her. Growing up her remaining parent refused to let her enrol in Starfleet academy until she was of age so she spent her time learning all sorts of things that Fey never had before namely tactics and martial arts.
After enrolling at Starfleet academy Isabel proceeded to amaze her teachers with competence while simultaneously exhausting them by running a profitable "tutoring" ring with her computer skills.
[Hidden - Command Authorisation Required] The attention that this ring gathered along with her aptitude in combat and tactics lead to her employment by Starfleet Intelligence upon graduation. Since then she has been jumping around various assignments, early on she was conventionally used for groundwork in espionage and extraction but her implants ensured that she was quickly moved to a controller position. Her job changed to intel aggregation from ground assets to create a picture that would allow for coordinated response. Several years working as a controller bored her and she pushed to be moved onto a starship. Fortunately the USS Phoenix had just come out of the yard and required tactical officers, it's intended role also meant that it would be useful to have a Intel liaison on board as well so Isabel jumped on the chance to fill both roles.[End Hidden]

Isabel is the product of a project undertaken by a subdivision of the Daystrom institute. The subdivision was attempting to explore methods of developing synthetic type intelligence without the necessity of manufacturing the positronic brain of Soong- type androids. They were certain that it must be possible to replicate the brain function of a suitably prepared sentient to a specially crafted computer. Federation law is extremely strict about enhancement via genetics but notably lax on the subject of enhancement by cybernetics. The division calculated that to achieve this transfer, the organic base would require several invasive implants to allow digital access to otherwise biological components. They had been stuck on how to implant these components for a while until someone pointed to the Bynar, their entire species survived a related procedure because the operation was performed when they were still children. With this course set, the division began preparing all of the required technologies. After much deliberation it had been decided to use a Trill embryo as the base of the project, in part because Trill neurology is especially malleable to foreign influence and in part due to the pushing of the project director, Seran Fey, who was a Trill. After a lot of searching suitable genetic donors were found and the division began slowly growing the embryo in a synthetic womb to allow for tight environmental controls.

Almost as soon as Isabel was born she underwent the initial implantation surgeries. The first processors made use of her soft skull and neuro-elasticity and were implanted into normally unreachable portions of the brain, the implants designed to slowly expand over time to link up to the future additions. After the initial surgeries the project became a waiting game for the division. Several members moved back to other projects temporarily while they waited for Isabel to develop. However, the project lead (Seran) and the lead Cyberneticist (A Vulcan named Vaus) effectively adopted Isabel bringing her home with them and raising her as if she was their child.

Isabel developed quickly; advanced cognitive speed and retention were some of the first affects her guardians had noticed, as soon as she could walk, she spent her time getting underfoot of both her parents and other researchers at the institute. It became a running joke about the young child that would run into various lectures, sit down in the front row, and not move until the lecture finished. Slowly as she grew, she found that certain lectures were much more interesting than others. Sure, warp field dynamics looked fun with the diagrams but how could it compare to developmental phase coil compression which resulted in beautiful explosions.

While Isabel’s life was good, getting to explore the Daystrom Institute whenever her parents were distracted, the divisions research went significantly worse. No matter what computer they built or however close it matched Isabel’s brain structure, they couldn’t get the copy to hold, it always rapidly destabilized leading to cascading failure. This continued failure eventually led to the division running out of funding. Fortunately, as far as Isabel was concerned, all this meant was that now she no longer had to visit the lab for medical checkups, all the cybernetic implantations had already happened and despite the project failing neither of her parents were in any rush to get rid of the bright child that they had grown to love.

Unfortunately, this idyllic period came to a rapid close during Isabel’s 14th year. Slowly she began to get sick, at first it had appeared just like severe reaction to puberty; irritable skin, changing appetite and lethargy however it had quickly developed. One day Vaus came home to find her collapsed on the floor with a high fever, he had immediately piled her into an air car straight to the institute, both her parents had long ago decided to avoid taking her to a hospital to avoid questions. It took several favors being called in by both Vaus and Seran before they reached the root of the issue. Isabel’s body believed that she was joined, with the computers inside her, and unfortunately as she entered puberty her body was expecting a significantly higher quantity of isoboramine in her system than was actually present, this lack was causing her sickness and likely would prove fatal. Knowing that the symbiosis commission would never approve giving a symbiont to a 14-year-old child Seran sent Vaus away on an errand before allowing a prototype EMH to remove the Fey symbiont from him and implant it in Isabel.

When Vaus returned, he was devastated but also overjoyed as Isabel’s health rapidly began to improve as between her and Fey they brought her body back into balance. To say that the immediate period following the implantation was hard would not do it justice, Isabel lost a father and Vaus lost his partner but together they got through it leaning on each other. Following the joining Isabel suddenly jumped forward on the, already advanced, curriculum that she had been studying the addition of several lifetimes of memories provided ample learning to finish most of the conventional courses that she had been doing however Vaus had been adamant that she shouldn’t go into any sort of formal higher education until she was at least the same age as the majority intake. While frustrating Isabel had understood and so focused all of her efforts into learning things that Fey had never done before, she found that she had a special knack for tactics-based games, the more moving parts the better as her implants allowed her to calculate and simulate alternate options at record speeds.

When she turned 18, she had been almost giddy with excitement to join up with the rest of her age group again. Despite the options available to her she had decided to go to Starfleet academy both to stay near her father and allow her to further explore her growing love of the various forms of combat.

The next 4 years at Starfleet academy were chaotic to say the least; according to Isabel, the hardest part was trying to fit in with both the want to be young and several hundred years of memories. If you were to ask her classmates, the hardest part was dealing with the grading curve whenever she had ended up in one of your classes. She was however prone to causing chaos, mostly by helping people change their grades or stealing exam papers for wildly changing prices, it could have been gossip one day but a teacher’s favorite pen the next. Suffice to say it had been a semi-regular occurrence for her to get called into various offices on the charge of “I know there’s no evidence, but I still know that you did it”. This skill, supplemented by her significant combat skills led her to be snatched up by Starfleet Intelligence upon graduation.

After graduation she jumped around various assignments performing various form of groundwork ranging from espionage to personnel extraction. Her active role lasted a few years but before long she was given the position of a controller where her role was to aggregate intelligence and help coordinate responses. Isabel excelled in this role, her implants gave her an almost unparalleled ability to absorb information from many different sources at once, she then could rapidly analyze it and provide options and simulations for her superiors.

While she enjoyed this position and the privileged information that came with it, the job became stale,

she hadn’t joined Starfleet to spend her time stuck behind desks on various starbases acting as a glorified computer, so she slowly started to lobby her superiors for a starship posting. Eventually the perfect situation occurred, her superior finally relented to see if something was available and the USS Phoenix flew out of the yard. The Phoenix required tactical officers with experience in a variety of different scenarios and an intelligence liaison given its position as one of the fleet flags. Isabel jumped at the opportunity to fill both roles and Starfleet intelligence saw a great opportunity to reduce the number of agents that had to be tied up with regular fleet operations.
