Star Mage Academy: Beginnings

Energy has always been inside us. Us as in everyone, not just humans. This energy can manifest into amazing things but the most common is what we humans have always called as Magic.

Since the discovery of life beyond Earth, we learned of many other races besides the human race but this also led to us discovering the darkness and evil that threatened the entire Universe. That's why Galactic Allied Committee was formed, which included thousands of planets throughout the universe. This committee's task was to become a neutral party, not participating in any wars within or among allied planets. It's sole mission was to find a way to protect the universe from the impending evil.

We don't know how but every life form had a similar energy within themselves that could create magic and power that none had ever seen however not everyone had the ability to harness that power. So the GAU formed the Star Mage Academy. This school was for those who were born with higher amounts of energy than others. This academy would teach and train beings across the GAU into Mages that would protect the universe from the evil. For years Star Mage Academy has graduated powerful Mages and they have all spread across the galaxy, protecting planets and solar systems until their last breath.

SMA Squads

Star Mage Academy is divided into four squads: Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Omega. All squads have their strengths and weaknesses but Alpha is the finest and elite of all the squads. In training and in the field, Alpha Squad hold leadership. Beta is the squad for the listeners and the quick thinkers, they follow the rules and are considered the second-in-command to Alpha. Delta are the runners, the strong, and the loyal. Low-tier but are given the most tasks due to their high numbers and compatibility. When there's a mission, difficult or easy, Delta will always be there. Omega is the starting squad, those who have just joined SMA or those who have yet to prove themselves. Some spend their entire academy years on Omega but don't underestimate them, for they have the highest potential to produce the greatest Mages in the universe.

When one enrolls into SMA, they are assigned to a squad. Most are put into Omega but those who are exceptional may find themselves in a higher squad but they must work harder to earn their place.

Attention all students. Attention all students. You are to report to the Main Hall for Orientation. You have ten minutes to arrive. Students will be divided into squads. If you are late, there will be consequences and will harm your future in this academy. Alpha Squad, please report to Orientation Staff Table for briefing.

Aiko was already at her table, going over paperwork and scowling. New recruits were hard to come by these days and personally, Aiko wasn't very impressed with what she was seeing.

"Is something wrong Ms. Himawari?" A fretful intern stammered out. Aiko slammed the papers down and rubbed her temples. A headache was definitely in-bound for her.

Aiko sighed. "Nothing that you did nor can you solve." The intern nodded and went back to his work. Aiko sat down and went back to reviewing her papers. She was young but already felt old with the work she did.

I really shouldn't be judging these recruits.. that's not fair of me. They have chances to prove themselves. Aiko thought to herself, annoyed at herself but glad this frustration did not burst out onto a recruit.

"Where is Kei? I need a second opinion on these recruits." Aiko muttered. She didn't have the full power to expel someone but Aiko had to be sure that she can trust these recruits, their and her lives were on the line when they went out on missions.

Glash was inert, in their domicile, which was really just a large empty fish tank. No one wanted to bother wasting a whole room on a swarm that can fit into tight spaces; nor did Glash ever speak against this, so all was fine and dandy. A few taps on the side facing out alerted the swarm; each member resumed movement which in turn made adjacent individuals do the same. In mere seconds, the whole swarm was mobile again and the Glash intelligence came back into existence.

In a wave of shifting dark green, Glash emerged from the open top tank and rested on the floor. The representative whose job it was to "awaken" this extraterrestrial mass just watched as the swarm gathered itself and morphed into a vaguely humanoid shape. At almost 7 feet tall, it would be an imposing sight to someone unused to such a thing. "You're to report to the main hall; I know you're not a student, but you know the rules." The attendant informed. With silence, the swarm faced down the hall and moved in an almost gliding fashion; never taking a step with the limb-like parts of their mass.

With great swiftness, Glash traveled down the halls of the Academy, never faulting or breaking their traversion. Such a single objective mind at this moment, one could easily mistake the swarm as just another animal. They would be wrong, however. Each individual Comtarian in the swarm was constantly sending messages to their neighbors; this was how the swarm functioned and how Glash thinks. Right now, each Comtarian only told each other "To the Main Hall",so to the Main Hall they went.

Glash traveled quickly enough that it would find students blocking their path. In milliseconds, the swarm decided what to do; dispersing and going around the students only to reform again in front of them. "To the Main Hall." Glash spoke in their screechy way of doing so. To be honest, Glash didn't even have any knowledge as to why they were summoned; they just went without any attempt to garner more information. No matter, the Main Hall was close by; the swarm was finally there.

Dom was sat against a wall waiting bored by the academy. He had already eaten some food and was frankly feeling a bit irritable that they were being kept loitering around, but he settled for what it was and shifted from where he leant, making his way to the freshly announced halls. So long as the directions made in place around the building were not swapped around for a prank as of late...
Dom eventually came into where the crowd was. Ugh. This could only be fun. The crowd blocked the corridors, so he simply travelled straight forward, those not choosing to move around him bumping aside from him. The one very wide student that wouldn't move he slinked around because he really wasn't in the motivation to cause trouble. Far more important matters were at hand after all. Eventually Dom reached the main hall and formed up with the crowd as they waited, bringing himself to the front where physically possible.

Teva Caledon (For reference; it's pronounced Cal-lay-don)
Teva walked down to the main hall. She hadn't had much to eat, but she didn't really like to eat, surprising I know. She turned into the Main Hall and saw a few of the students were already here, she doesn't handle people all that well so her demeanor and heart both dropped and she became what most people 'anti-social', choosing to sit as far front as she possibly could and as far away from the students as possible.

She sat and put her hands in her lap and continued to be a mix of shy and nervous, almost to the point where she began to give off a slight heat aura.

Kaito Sekoren had already been at the Academy for a few hours, moving into his dorm and making sure he knew his way around the place. When the announcement sounded, he sighed and went straight there. He hoped no one would speak with him. He really just wanted to be alone like most Keanoci do. Besides, even if this wasn't the case, he doesn't trust people well. He'd consider himself very trustworthy but other people he's just met? No way. He already knew exactly which 'Squad' he was going into. He wasn't an Alpha, Beta or Gamma. He was an Omega. He was a lone wolf and all lone wolves would be considered Omegas by wolf packs but he didn't care. He was here so that he'd have a place to live, not to follow orders.

Once he arrived at the main hall, he found a seat at the front and sat down. He scratched the scales on his neck and rubbed his left eye before paying close attention to what was about to happen. This wasn't time to mess around when he'd be in front of the big people who made the Academy what it is.

Kypher Hawthorne

Kypher had been practicing his sword fighting with an instructor when the announcement had been sent out. Well, he could hardly call his training partner an 'instructor' when all he was doing was desperately remaining on the defensive against Kypher's ruthless onslaught. It was an odd sight for the onlookers who often came to watch him train: he didn't seem to have much passion for the level of skill he was displaying, indeed he almost seemed to be fighting out of sheer boredom more than anything else. It was sobering to see the instructor's sword flying off to the side as the recruit's own was placed inevitably at the man's throat. It was just sparring, so there was no intent to kill, but the instructor still seemed rather unsettled and even nervous given how the battle had gone. Without a word, Kypher nodded to the man and withdrew his sword, placing it at his hip and walking away. The show was over and it had only lasted about 6 minutes, it being quite one-sided the whole time. Kypher didn't consider himself a sword master as such, but he did recognise his own skill. It was the reason he continued with his practice for the possibility of furthering his skills.

Finished with practice, Kypher left the training room and immediately made his way down the corridor and in the direction of the main hall. One of the students who had been watching came up to him and tried to offer Kypher a cloth, presumably to wipe his forehead with, but Kypher politely turned him down with a shake of the head; he hadn't worked up a sweat to warrant needing the cloth. It was strange to him that the other students would treat him with such awe and respect given that he hadn't been staying at Star Mage Academy for very long, but he dismissed the thought soon enough. Perhaps that was just their way of making the new recruits feel welcome. Passing the corridor blocked by students, Kypher paused for a moment as he watched some of the recruits trying to bypass the blockage. Whilst he noticed their somewhat successful efforts, he himself decided not to bother with it. Instead, Kypher continued down past that particular corridor until he came to another turning that was not blocked, to which he simply took that route to reach the main hall. It was a slight detour, but he made decent time still without the trouble of navigating a small crowd.

Having reached his destination, Kypher entered the large room and glanced about to get his bearings. A few students had arrived so far but none seemed to be particularly talkative. Good, Kypher disliked unnecessary small talk. Placing himself to the side of the room, Kypher leaned against the wall and waited for a further announcement to signal the beginning of their orientation. He didn't expect much from it, just an explanation as to why/how they were here and how things work at the academy, the usual routine for must inductions. If he was honest, he was looking forward more to going back to training than having to sit through this assembly of rules and laws of the school. Of course, he was not a troublemaker though and he did know how to follow orders, so he made himself content to tough the short period of time out.

upload_2017-5-27_8-39-57.pngKeke had been alone talking to her leader. He had been explaining her mission and what her first task was. "Now Keke the first thing I want you to do is check out the academy see what type of powers these people and other aliens hold. We need to know what we are up against." Keke nodded her head excitedly. "Will do sir!" She saluted. "Now Keke don't get distracted. "I know how you can b. I need you to..stay.....focus....Keke! Are you even listening to me?!" Keke was speaking to him through her video watch and at the moment she was looking around the academy in aw completely forgetting she was just talking to her leader. "KEKE!!" She jumped and looked at her watch. "H-huh? Oh yeah we were talking. I will complete my mission sir!" She cut the connection and the leader stood there regretting he sent her in the first place. "If it wasn't for being one of the best warriors we have I would of got rid of her long ago.

Keke started wondering around the academy and looking at all the different people that were around. "So cool!" Right now Keke was in her human form. She thought it would be best for now since her other form tend to scare people off. All of sudden she heard someone voice booming through the speakers telling everyone to come to the Main Hall for Orientation. Keke stood there for moment trying think what Orientation meant then quickly headed in that direction. Once she made it she saw a lot people were already here so she made her way through the crowd trying to see how far to the front she could get.

Attention all students. You have exactly five minutes to make your way to the Main Hall. Consequences can be resounding if a student is late or skips Orientation!
(My next post tomorrow will signify the deadline for all students.)

Eros- (19)- ability to manipulate emotions
The boy had been at the Academy for only a day and was already fooling around with a girl who had fangs. Her lips danced across his neck, a low moan humming from her lips. She might have been a vampire, or maybe a werewolf, the boy didn’t really care to know, if he was being honest. She had a pretty face and a nice body and that was enough for him. And in this occasion, the boy didn’t even need to manipulate her emotions that much, which was a bonus. He and Jessica, or Jackie, whatever-her-name, hid in what was presumably the janitor’s closet. The unnamed blonde was pulling off her shirt when an announcement boomed overhead: “Attention all students. You have exactly five minutes to make your way to the main hall. Consequences can be resounding if a student is late or skips orientation.”

The blonde let out a string of curse words under her breath, hurriedly fixing her hair and sliding her shirt back on. With only a glance at the boy, she scrambled out of the janitor’s closet. Eros frowned at his bad luck as the nameless girl disappeared within the crowd of students. Well f*ck, he thought, scratching the back of his neck. Guess I should go, too. Hot beads of sweat clung to his forehead and neck. He was probably a mess to look at; red cheeks from where the girl’s mouth had just been, messy bleach-blond hair from where her long fingernails had grabbed at. Eros inwardly cursed at the unfortunate timing. Nonetheless, he quickly ran a hand through his hair and pushed himself into the crowd of students.

Asem Inju Madiev

In a small room a girl sat cross legged, slightly levitated off the ground as she meditated. Her hair white as snow whitle her pale skin was cluttered by thick runes that lined her body. Her face bare of any emotion as she listened to her breathing. In and out. In and out. She thought, her hands folded neatly in her lap. This was the only quiet time she was able to steal away from her busy schedule. The kimono she wore fluttered above the floor, moving as if there were a soft wind beneath her.

Asem nearly found herself on the floor when the announcement blaired over the speakers. Although she ws quick to catch herself, steadying herself before she sighed. "Concequences." She muttered, shaking her head as she lowered herself to the ground. Straightening herself before making her way down to the Main Hall. Asem could be heard from a mile away, the sound of her beads around her wrist, ankles, neck and hair making her presence known. Of course Asem could be quite if she wished, but she did not care much about stealth when all she was going to was, what she assumed, a quick meeting.

There was already a crowd of students making their way into the Main Hall. Of course Asem would have none of this, toying with the thought of pushing others out of her way. Although with her size she could easily weave inbetween the student, so that is what she did. Weaving in and out of the group of students Asem easily made her way into the Main Hall. She was able to get near the front, standing off more towards the side as she didn't necessarily care to be smack dab in the middle of everything. So there she stood, arms crossed and ready to listen to whatever they gathered them there for.

"Attention all students. You have exactly five minutes to make your way to the Main Hall. Consequences can be resounding if a student is late or skips Orientation!"

The words of the headmaster resounded throughout the halls. At least, that's who one student believed it to be. As the boy strutted throughout the halls as if he owned them it is clear for all to see that he was not human - not even close. The main thing that divided humans from the boy was his red skin - crimson red, as if he had just bathed in a vat of blood, but also his large dragon-like horns. His horns were somewhat of a marvel to humans, as he found out, as he notices people around him stare at them with mixed expressions - some intrigued, some scared, some disgusted. Rygat didn't care. In fact, he almost wanted to encourage them to outcast him - after all, it gives him a reason to beat them into submission.

As he wanders the halls, the Hatibatu male notices many weird alien races, some of which were almost as weird as him. Approaching the room where the Orientation was meant to be held he watches out for whatever he was meant to be doing, a cocky smile on his face and his bulky arms crossed in front of his burly chest.

It had been three weeks since the descision had been made to enroll Midas, and already he was about to hurt someone.
The guard was simply a tuxedo wearing gentleman with a pair of glasses and a ear piece followed midas into the main hall. Midas was silently praying there would be a dorm system, but he figured that was unlikely. With the multiple species appearing in the school, it may be troublesome and uncomfortable for some of the students.
"Alright. Im here. You can go now. The faculty are likely set to...deal with any problems,so run along back to your boss. You did your work." The guard didnt so much as glance at the male as he looked about, before getting a call on his ear peice. About the same time the five minute warning went out overhead. With a nod, the guard turned.
"here is the card. You are to call and report your progress every day at the end of classes. Call this number to do so" taking the card, the man hissed, tearing it in half in an instant"yes yes i know. Your boss's made it very clear."
"You realize where you would be right now? Consider yourself lucky"
"Lucky, or cursed? Now get the hell out of here. Im going to be late for orientation. Your boss doesnt want me to be getting in trouble, right?"
The man looked to want to say more, but let the comment drop, turning to head out. With a grumble, the male gave a curse, before beginning to follow after the flow of students. Probably fastest to follow them any how...

Cete ears perked up as it heard the announcement, something about going to the main hall. Cete was in it's normal form mostly because he felt that he shouldn't be mimicking humans, lowest of the species he has ever met. "Mashta neei erke." *where's the main hall." Cete said that while speaking in it's normal language, a language that only it and Arklut ever spoke in while in their normal form. It wasn't until a few minutes later that it smelled and heard many students going toward one direction, so Cete decided to follow it. "Nopa lei goon." *Too many creatures." It felt really weird for Cete to be with creatures he had never seen before and mostly because it never went anywhere without the pack, a rule that was implanted on every one of them. Cete closed it's eyes before the form it had started to shift and it transformed into the male form. "Feels weird using this form." Cete spoke in English, a language he have had a hard time learning but it was gonna be useful here.
(Open for interaction?? When cete is it's human form, it goes by he but when it's in natural form, it goes by it.)

Synth

Synth was minding his business, wandering around the academy's campus when he met two great enemies; first, the enemy known as the ten minute warning - he hadn't been here long enough to fully figure out the layout, and although the main hall's placement and characteristics should have been obvious without knowledge of it he was in a panic from his second enemy.

His morning stomach.

Please don't be late, please don't be late! Three minutes after the five minute warning, he began running at full speed.

Teva Caledon
Teva looked around as more people entered the main hall, she really was shy but she knew interaction would inevitably happen. For now she avoided it best she could, all the new faces coming into the main hall made her retreat more into her chair, Hurry up and start already.. she thought. Though being shy won't help much so she sighed and tried to relax a little...

(eh, bugger it. we gonna need something so it isnt just a sea of open interactions :P)

As Rygat goes to sit down on one of the seats, before all the good ones were taken, he sighs heavily as he barges to one of the empty seats he sees. After sitting down, he looks next to him to see a relatively timid girl, at which he just smiles at. Chuckling, he decides to speak to her in his gruff, deep voice. "You know, being timid isn't going to help in a school like this - you'd be eaten up in the first week." After saying that, he looks over to the girl and nods to her with his dragon horned head and red skin. He offers a muscled hand, though not overly muscled like Dwayne Johnson, and smiles. "Rygat. Nice to meet you?"

Kumii Kumii

Teva Caledon
Teva was a bit taken back by the sudden hello from Rygat, "Hmm? Oh.. I.. uh.." She didn't quite know what to say, instead she took his hand, not quite taken aback by his appearance, "Teva. Nice to meet you." She looked at him peeringly, "So, um, forgive, but what exactly are you?" She asked, trying not to offend him.
The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald

Rygat simply chuckled at this 'Teva'. It wasn't odd for her to not to recognize his kind - his species was relatively rare after all, with them killing each other almost to the point of extinction. That never bothered Rygat, though. He was considered one of the calmest of his species - a trait that even he himself is unsure whether or not that is an evolutionary trait. He must admit though, he does seem to live longer than most Hatibahu. "I am a Hatibahu, or as the humans call us the Hyperion. I presume you are human?" He asks, fairly certain of her human race but he wanted to make sure - he wouldn't be surprised if half the school were shapeshifters, like him.

Kumii Kumii

Synth
"I'm not late?!" Synth dashed into the main hall, gasping for air as he bent over. He had made his shoes into golems after taking round rocks and attaching them like wheels, but he was still winded with the fact that moving so fast meant he barely had opportunity to breathe properly. Halfway through a building one of the rocks hit a wall while turning, shattering it. Lucky him, he had found the flow of students and was pretty close to the main hall by then. Ah, have to find a seat- His mind that was used to the rush of RTS games instantly went to the next objective without break, and he looked around the room carefully. Whoever I spend this time with, this is a chance to make an early bond through conversation. It would be best if I gave it a bit of thought...

Him. I think I'll get along with him. Synth walked towards a black haired male that seemed to be following the flow lazily, noticing that the man's eyes were in the shape of hexagons as he got closer. "Hey there, feel like talking to a random stranger?" Synth closed his eyes and smiled as he got close to Midas, raising his hand in a lazy wave.

Teva Caledon
Teva stared at Rygat with what looked like disbelief, eyes wide, "Rygat..." she said quietly, "Hatibahu...." She said again quietly, "Heh." The giggle was a cute, girly one. The giggle turned into a chuckle, "I'm sorry... I'm sorry." She looked at him with a smile and a pool of tears in each eye from laughing, "Mhmm, I am human." She opened her eyes and cleared the tears from her eyes, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh at you, it's just.." She cleared her throat, "You guys have funny names." She gave a genuine smile.
The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald

The boy looks at her with somewhat confusion as she start laughing at his name. He was also somewhat surprised to hear someone mock his name, or even his species name at that - his species were known to be hostile, if known at all, so not many people tend to laugh at him. At least, intentionally. His confusion subsides somewhat, however, as she explains. He guesses he never really considered how his name would sound to a human - he was alien, after all. "Well, you 'humans' have strange names to me." He says, with a chuckle.

Kumii Kumii

Teva Caledon
Teva nodded at his comment, "Well we are alien to each other aren't we?" This was true, "So, Rygat, what is it you.. Hatibahu or whatever do? What are your powers?" She leaned closer to him, with interest. It was always fun to Teva to learn about new species and this school had plenty of them. Her timidness got in the way of this though, she found it hard to approach most of them, due to having know nothing about them.
The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald

Rygat starts with the weird stuff - at least, the weird stuff to his kind. "Well, I can shoot bolts of lightning. They tend to miss their mark though, and get attracted to metal easily...but that's why I'm here, I suppose. To learn how to properly control my lightning." He then sits back, almost satisfied with his answer as a sudden spark ignites in his eyes, making him jump forward. "Oh, and I can also turn into my true form. My true form is...what would you humans call it...I guess it would be best described as a giant snake-like dragon. My kind have more specific words for that sort of thing, but that's the general gist. I also have my poison, too, I guess." He sits back for the final time, this time truly satisfied. "What about you?"

Kumii Kumii

Asem sat quietly in the room. Her eyes going from person to person as she assessed them individually, as she often did. She was never one to make rash decisions, instead she liked to stay in the background and assess the situation before fully committing herself to it. She could already tell this years recruits would be quite interesting. The were all diverse, and she couldn't help but feel there would be some fallout between the aliens and humans as most who do not understand something often are rash and fearful, therefore leading to some rather unwanted clashing.

She smirked at the rather odd coupling of an alien and human. The girl seemed frail and timid while the alien was large by comparison and rather gruff from what she had seen. They were by far the oddest pair she had seen today. Then there were the usual recruits who came off as moody, portraying the dark and mysterious type. From what she could tell there was a clear divide between the humans and aliens, staying on their respective sides, eyeing one another occasionally. It was just the small human girl and the large alien that were mingling outside of their species. She commended them for this, whether they intended to go outside the norm or not.

With a sigh Asem looked down at her arms, the fabric of her kimono lifting up slightly to reveal the array of tattooed runes, barely any of her pale skin left instead it was covered by the harsh black lines that she had put there many years ago. Her finger traced the outline of one rune, reminding her of why she was here in the first place.
