Hello! I am Gossip Link, how are you doing today? If you clicked on this thread, that means you are interested in Space Pirates! (Or just curious of what I have in store~) Either way, let me say I only have a minor plot for this, and it's mostly just to start us off. Then I have a potential goal for this RP, (It's kind of a plot I suppose) that we could pursue, but it wouldn't happen much till later on. With that out of the way, let me say one last thing before I go onto the more important things. This RP is original, and not based off of anything. (Though it is inspired by a few different things~)
So, the idea of this RP is for you, myself, and maybe other people to plunder and pillage the high seas known as space! I have only developed the universe this is taking place in a little bit, so a lot will be added during this RP. (Please help add to the RP as well! Since this is an OC universe, we have no cannon rules or anything to follow~)

People never truly left the olden ages of early colonization. Black Beard was never killed in North Carolina, and thus rained on as a legend. Pirates all around kept on, and no matter how hard the Spanish or English fought, the black flagged ships never were down for long. This made technology advance oddly, people never leaving the style of those days. Flashing forward many years into the future, it's the Golden Age of Rule. (3389 AD.) A few years ago, the major governments of the known galaxy had officially begun banding together to eliminate the threat of these pirates. Under one flag, the United Navy of the Universe (UNU). The once pirate controlled sectors began falling prey to this large organization, and were reduced to mere nothing. (This happened eighty-nine years ago, during the Golden Age of Extinction.) And for many, this was a good thing. However...things changed very fast.
The UNU was a 'good' government at first, taking out those 'evil' humans who terrorized the people. But once the largest groups of pirates were either destroyed or scattered, the UNU turned their sights and resources on expanding. But in order to expand, they needed money, man power, etc. Where would they get these things? From the same people they once saved. The UNU turned corrupt under everyone's noses. Those few governments who once stayed neutral or opposed the UNU were now being taken out, leaving nearly all of the major galaxies and star systems under control of the 'United Navy of the Universe.'
Though most pirates were just there for the money, others for the sake of pillaging...there were those who only wanted freedom. Freedom from the strict governments most were once a part of. So now, with what's going on in the known universe, many previous pirates (and those who are still left from the GAE) are banding together as a resistance group. Though they have yet to sail under one official flag, many are calling themselves the 'Broken Resistance'. This has only recently started, but already the outer territories are under resistance control. The news of this still has yet to reach the UNU, due to how faraway these territories are from the dictators.
This is where we come in. Aboard the 'Fallen Angel' is where our part of this story starts. I, Lucifer, am the captain of this fine vessel. And I'm looking for some crew...
So there's a few things you outta know:

GAE (Golden Age of Extinction.)
GAR (Golden Age of Rule.)
A.B.S (Able bodied sailors.)

Now this universe is rather unique, for two reasons. It's a bit hard to explain, but try to imagine the age of pirates/colonization, with all those old ships and flintlock pistols, but with future technology. As in...ships got a field of energy that allows them to maintain air, and an atmosphere similar to earth. And those old pistols, cannons, and rifles fire lases! Kinda getting the idea now? But that's only one thing...there's also magic.
Now this magic is meant in two different ways. The first way...how do I explain this...it's basically magic that derives from a person's soul. It allows people who have a strong enough soul to manifest the power into a form of magic unique to them. To understand what I mean by that, it's similar to RWBY. In how some people have a 'semblance' based off of their auras. If you don't understand the comparison, just kept scrolling till you get to where I explain Lucifer. He has magic, so you can use him as a reference. The second type of magic is...well Black Magic. (It is real in this!) You know, cursed objects...and stuff like that.
1630 - Piracy begins in the Caribbean
1630-1716 - Piracy slowly spreads.
1716-1718 - Blackbeard becomes a known legend and idol to pirates. He survives the battle at North Carolina, and inspires pirates all over the globe.
1718-1736 - Piracy has spread into every ocean, and most seas. Goes unopposed.
1736 - The Spanish and English navies begin to focus on eliminating pirates.
1736-2090 - Mostly unknown/nothing important really happened.
2090-2555 - Humanity begins their reach into space. At some point pirates begin pillaging space.
2555-3300 - The main governments of the world are officially fed up with pirates. The UNU is formed. The Golden Age of Extinction begins.
3300-3389 - Most pirates are either killed or forced into the furthest reaches of the known universe. The UNU turned corrupt, and the Golden Age of Rule begins.
Now, with all that said and done let's get onto the current stuff. Starting with the 'Fallen Angel', and her crew.
Lucifer's history isn't known by anyone, and very little about his personal life is known. He is said to be a descendant of Blackbeard. Who is still a popular legend, but some think he may actually be the devil himself. (Both as in, Blackbeard, and as in Satan.) For what is known, is as such. He once sailed on another ship, the 'Mago Song', till it was finally sunk due a passing fleet of the UNU. How Lucifer survived, no one knows. But he now has created a new ship, and is looking for a crew to fill it.
The devil carries eight pistols, all of which have been personally modified for deadly accuracy. They line the inside of his coat, along with a few magically 'cursed' items he keeps for reasons unknown to the public. He uses two one-handed curved blades, that some think are enchanted. He is one of the few pirates around nowadays that has the ability to use magic of his own, that isn't provided by a magic item. It's simply been titled, 'Blink'. Between what he wears, what he looks like, how little is known about him, and the name of both himself, and the name of his ship, those who have heard of him believe he truly is Satan. Or at least a demon.
The Fallen Angel has a history of it's own. There was once a very notorious ship known simply as 'The Angel'. It was built with white mahogany, and refined/outlined with an unknown golden alloy. Aboard the ship was a large crew, manning over one hundred cannons, and several mortars. This ship was deemed unsinkable, till she met her fate. The largest UNU fleet, led by Fleet Admiral Huit Jones, sunk the mighty pirate ship.
Lucifer happened to be part of her crew for a very short time, and studied the magnificent boat from top to bottom. He identified many flaws in the ship, but it overall was superior to nearly every other ship at the time. Once Lucifer discovered it was finally brought down, he sent off plans to make a copy...but of his own design. Thus the Fallen Angel was born. A ship made of whats believed to be cursed black eerdoch wood, and gilded with a very dark green alloy of his own design, it's the best ship one could hope for...but it's not technically complete. The price to make the 'Fallen Angel' exactly how he wanted it, was far too much. So though the hull was built, systems installed, and a few cannons set in place, it is missing a lot yet.
Alright, that's the end of it! If you've read this far, you must be interested. (I at least hope you are!~) But I'm not done talking yet. This next part applies to you and I, personally.
I'm only looking for literate RPers. If you want to join, I am expecting you to be able to post 2+ paragraphs per reply. The more the better, but that's the minimum. But before I go further, let me say that I am flexible. I get that sometimes you just have no inspiration, or just can't manage a good/long post. I get that way sometimes as well. But I just don't want that to be the case for the entire RP, you know? On the same topic, please have/use correct grammar. It's not that hard to make sure you're using the correct words, or to make sure the sentence doesn't have any errors, etc.
The last requirement I'm looking for in you, is to post at least once, but preferably as often as possible in a single day. Don't feel pressured to post all the time, just at least once! If you do have to go on hiatus, let me know~Oh, and I am planning on this being a long-term RP, so if you want to join, I'm expecting you to be in for the long run!
Really quick, here's just a few things for you to know. Romance is allowed, and in any forms you prefer. We're pirates! Who cares what society thinks? (However, sticking to site rules, no sex. If any characters do the do, with you know who...fade to black.) Your characters can't be perfect, that's obvious. You will take damage, and if things lead up to it, you may even die. Though this will not happen without your consent first.

Captain: I have assumed the role of captain for this RP. Given I'm the GM, I needed to take this spot to better lead everything. (Mostly due to this RP having an actual story, that needs to followed. -Albeit loosely-)
First Mate: Now, the link I added did not have a description for this role. So please go back, and read the Quarter Master's description. That is basically what the First Mate is, with the exception of one thing. The first mate doesn't have any control over the captain. Though the captain always listens to what the FM has to say, and may follow his advice, nothing is guaranteed. (Also, whoever the First Mate is, you and I will be coordinating things a lot. So expect that ahead of time~)
Sailing Master: Whoever the Sailing Master is, will have to coordinate things with me. This role is important, and needed to direct a lot of the RP.
Boatswain: There is little for me to note on this position, as the link provides pretty much all the information that one would need to know.
Doctor: Like the Boatswain, there is little for me to note for the Doctor. The only thing to say, is that the whoever is RPing the doctor...good luck! (I just imagine a doctor like House. Could you see that on a scurvy pirate ship?)
Engineer: The Captain and the engineers will have a unique relationship, during this RP. I'm planning on there being a main engineer, or the 'head' of them. That person will have lots of communication with the captain.
Master Gunner: Again, little to note about this person...
Mate(s): The mates are...basically apprentices. Whoever wants to be a mate, can choose to be the apprentice of the Sailing Master, Boatswain, Doctor, the 'head' Engineer, and the Master Gunner. (You must ask permission of the person who has already taken one of these roles, before asking me for the spot.)
A.B.S: These people, are the brunt of the ship. Though this spot may seem a bit dull in comparison to the other positions, keep in mind that the A.B.S are the main fighters. The people who board the enemy, defend...and do the tedious jobs the others don't want to do.
Riggers: Not much to note...
Now, this next part applies to everyone. Magic, in the sense of the stuff that's derived from one's soul, is very rare. Not many people have strong enough 'auras' to manifest magic of their own. Lucifer is one of these rare cases, and is even more rare for how strong his abilities are. With that said, all of the roles except A.B.S and engineers, can have/use this type of magic. But I will be very strict with how limited it will be, if you do have it. The only exception to this, is the First Mate. Whoever the first mate is, can have magic almost equal to Lucifer. (And possibly become just as strong with magic during the RP)
However, magic in the sense of 'Black Magic', and enchanted/cursed items, is available to any role. (With fair limits of course.) The restrictions to this...shouldn't be needed to be said. I'll be far less strict with this. If someone does make something to OP, I'll let you know over PM. If anyone would like to know exactly how this type of magic works...well, I haven't thought about it much. I'm giving you guys a rather 'openness' to this type.
