Realistic or Modern Soulmates *Accepting*

"What can I say I'm waiting for my soulmate so we can share a chocolate shake" he said as he put the coffee to the side as he picked up the ketchup it seems to have gotten busy he says as he looked up he scanned the room. He looked down at people feet, seeing some ones ankle, "Her" he said "Get me my chocolate shake Brec" he smirked up at her. "I really hope it's the right arrow I've been trying to find" he bit into his breakfast sandwich. "Mhh can I have some extra fries" he aid with a mouthful.

Hurriedly grabbing her mocha with a double shot of espresso, Taylor checked her phone. Ugh, it was an hour before her class started, not two. What a waste of time. She changed her pace from a brisk walk to a leisurely stroll as she changed her direction from the class buildings to the quaint little library nestled in the heart of campus. Taylor doubted that no one would be there at this time; the campus seemed a little bit less bustling. A dark-haired boy was leaning against a tree, looking somewhat distressed. He was Asian; he probably got an A- on a paper or something, she thought as she disregarded the fact that she was a full-blown Korean. Chuckling in her mind, karma swept her off her feet by causing her to trip on a crack in the sidewalk, causing her coffee to spill on her new, cashmere Burberry scarf.

Cursing like a sailor in her native tongue, the Korean words rolled off her tongue like knives. They needed to fix this goddamn sidewalk. Not only was she too early to a class that she couldn't give a crap for, her outfit was now ruined. Taylor mentally made a note to pay her dry cleaner a visit tomorrow. It took all of her self-control not to scream; instead, she crushed the now empty coffee cup in her hand.

Fuck me, Kyler mused, gazing forlornly down into his backpack. Just fuck me in the ass. It seemed like the parasite paper wasn't through with torturing him yet. Kyler sighed and pulled out the chain from the bag. He secured his bike to the tree he'd been leaning on, peering up briefly at the honking cars. He wouldn't have been surprised if the commotion had been directed at him, but thankfully, some woman seemed to be the one gathering the unwanted attention.

A soft splash and a colorful vocabulary his mother would have grounded him for uttering detracted Kyler's attention from the jaywalking woman. Glancing at the voice--a Korean, or of Korean origin, he assumed--he noticed the fresh stain on her scarf, the offending coffee cup in her hand, and the aftermath on the crippled concrete at her feet. Well, if anything, it was nice to know that he wasn't the only one who was getting shit thrown in his face this afternoon.

"Are you, um, okay?" Kyler asked the woman as he rose slowly to his feet.

"OK one stop talking with your mouth full...I don't think your soulmate would like it if you talk with your mouth full" She told him smiling then ruffled his hair before leaving. "I'll be back with your fries..." She tells him while walking and went behind the counter telling the chef to make extra fries. While the fries were cooking Brec was making some drinks for other customers. When the fries were done she was giving the last customer his smoothie, the chef called her over saying the fries were finished. She thanked him and grabbed the basket walking back over to Marcus. "Here ya Marc...when you're ready you can order that chocolate shake and don't eat all the fries...save some for your soulmate..." She told him and gave him a wink.

Instead of making the original example of the cake Starrla was going to make ended up being a whole batch. " We could just give these out for free as a tester." She took the tray of cakes and set it outside on the counter and marked it free. One of the waiters gave her an eyebrow and she just shrugged and walked to her small office and set the notebook in her drawer and sighed a bit. " Maybe i should go to the library for a bit." Then she shook her head against the idea then went out front and helped at the register.

Shaking her head, Felice gave a chuckle and waved her hand to dismiss the topic. She had already proven herself to be most idiotic to ask such a question. These tattoos were something they have had all their lives, something they were taught about since childhood. "Yeah, yeah, I know. It just seems to be too good to be true. I don't know." As she was talking, she was rummaging through her bag to find her cell phone to look at the time.

"Well, I must be going, Jax. See you later," she said as she got up, leaning over to him to give him a friendly kiss on the cheek before grabbing her bag and empty coffee cup. She walked over to the trash bin to throw out the cup before heading out of the library to head to her first class she had today.

Taylor looked up from her ruined scarf at the voice cutting through the annoying honking of the cars. They clearly saw that she was having a crisis; their petty lives weren't as important as this scarf that had probably cost more than their paint jobs combined. Flipping the bird in the street's general direction, she gathered up her pride and stepped in front of the library. Attempting to adjust her scarf to hide the offending stain, she sighed an answer. "Me? I'm fine. The scarf? Not so much."

Looking at the source of the voice, she found herself looking at the Asian boy she had noticed before. Taylor glanced at his bike, then back at him. He still showed some sign of worry on his face, although about what, she hadn't the slightest idea anymore. Still, it would be nice to have someone to talk to in this town. Moving from place to place was exhausting, and so was finding people to talk to. Taylor wasn't shy by any means; to be one of the elite, shyness was a sign of weakness, according to her family. She must have looked like an idiot just standing there glaring at her coffee cup.

"Sorry, I feel like such an irrational dumbass for causing such a scene like that," Taylor apologized halfheartedly, attempting to keep a frown from setting on her face. Frowning caused wrinkles, and that was the last thing she needed right now.

Rosaleen was soon given her smoothie and she smiled gently, murmuring a "Thanks," to the waitress. She took a sip of her drink, and then scanned over a text her roommate Mary had just sent her. The red head sighed, taking another drink before replying. Apparently Mary needed her to run to the store and buy some food. Rosa suspected Mary was preparing for someone coming over. Which also made her guess she'd have to help clean the house when she got back at 3. Luckily she didn't have any homework so far today, to make her day more hectic and boring than it already was turning out to be.

“Don’t worry about it. Stuff like that happens all the time around here.” Kyler waved off her apology and cast her a small, awkward smile. Coffee and coffee spillage was a common commodity on any college campus. Granted, this woman was the first he’d run across who let out an uproar of curses over a now-slightly soggy scarf, but hey, it happened.

Kyler shifted around on his feet, slouching to one side as his gaze flitted away from the woman momentarily. He’d never seen her before—he likely would have remembered her if he had; she had a mouth as bad as he did, more or less. He was bargaining she was a fellow college mate; an underclassman or a transfer student, if he had to guess. The campus was small in stature; picking out fresh faces in the crowd wasn’t an ordeal, even for someone as tucked away from the common scene as Kyler was.

“Are you new around here?” He spoke to the woman, briefly meeting her eyes. “I, uh, don’t think I’ve seen you here before. I go here,” he added, gesturing to the campus in its entirety. “Thing is, this place is so small that almost everyone knows everyone, so…” he trailed off, losing sight of his point.

@Dadamato

"I've noticed," Taylor said, and nodded in agreement. "It's such a sleepy little town; it's cute. Yeah, I moved here last week with my mom. Still haven't figured out where everything is, despite the size of this place."

Taylor wondered if she was really that noticeable on campus. Sure, no one else tried as hard to dress and compose themselves as she did, but when it all boiled down to it, she was still a normal, twenty year old girl. Sure, she was a twenty year old girl who occasionally popped up in a stray foreign tabloid about spilling another drink on an ambassador's daughter, but she was still just a girl nonetheless. Taylor could use a friend in this town, anyway. It would be nice to have someone to just talk to and not worry about statuses.

"So, have you lived here all your life or something?" she asked for the sake of starting a conversation as she headed for the library's entrance.

Decim sighed as she sat in the back room, her client was set up to be here around 12:50 so he should poof in around 1. Until then she remained chewing her lip in the back room her fingers glancing over the keys of her old computer. Clickedy Clicketh, Clack Click. Suddenly she began humming a slow almost depressing song.

"God damn. The Fast and Furious franchise will have to exclude the Brian aspect of the show, now the sister and kids will be gone.. But Vin's still there.." She began muttering lightly. Suddenly hearing the chime of the door she stood, making her way to the front a smile plastered to her face as she began her job.

Starrla stretched as the last costumer left from the register. Most of the people now were either at work or school and the only people left was some of the towns seniors who stayed to play board games and book clubs. She left the register and went to her office and grabbed her bag. "Might as well go for a walk or something." She muttered to herself. Leaving the building Starrla walked along the sidewalk and sung softly to herself. Today was going to be a boring day.

Having finished her scheduled clients, and not wishing to work overtime as she had planned earlier, Decim packed her things her expression was tired as was her posture as she packed her things exiting her job. Sucking it up she shivered as another blast of icy wind met her face instantly cooling her warmed muscles.

Seeing an old friend she waved halfheartedly, wondering what she had been up to for the past few weeks.

@Wynn

Having realized that she wasn't focused on the book she was reading, Violet quickly picked up her things and left. I don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe I'll take a walk. Usually she could focus very well and without trouble. Something was off. She was so immersed in her thoughts that she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. Unfortunately this resulted in her bumping into someone and dropping her book. "Oh, sorry," she hastily said, feeling embarrassed for not watching where she was going.

@Wynn

Starrla blew out some air while she walked today was looking like a boring day until she saw Decim. Feeling a burst of excitement she waved back at Decim, It has been literally weeks since she had seen the girl! Running over to her she collided in to someone making them drop their book. " Oh! I'm sorry! " She bent down and picked up the book and handed it over to the girl. " I'm really sorry about that." She said a little embarrassed.

@Aes @Scheani

Holding back a giggle at her friends mistake she made her way over to the two to see if the girl was fine and to make sure her friend wouldn't run into anymore unsuspecting people. "Wow, I haven't seen that in awhile- Not since High School I believe." Decim smirked lazily, "Are you okay?" She asked the book girl, her pudgy freckled face turned up in a warm smile that was as inviting as a cozy reading nook in the corner of a room.

"It's not your fault, I wasn't where I was going," Violet replied sheepishly. She was touched that the other girl asked her if she were okay and smiled back gently. "I'm fine, just dropped my book. I'm not myself today." She gave a small amused laugh, though was honestly a bit concerned for herself. Maybe it was this whole soulmate thing. At twenty two, she felt as if she were now just waiting for her soulmate to come strolling by, but at the same time knew it wasn't going to be easy. Currently she was taking a small break from life and working a few small jobs, but maybe she could return back to school shortly or something. Ambitions were important to her and she had recently stopped having any at all.

@Wynn @Scheani

Starrla shook her head " I wasn't really either. " She said still embarrassed. Turning to Decim she began to hug her to death. " Where did you go?!! I know we have been both busy but i miss you so much!!" Starrla continued to say a lot of things and her words started to jumble together. But it was true Starrla had missed Decim ...A lot! Decim had been one of her first friends when she started to go back to school.

(Yay~)

A soft smirk attacking itself to her face Decim looked over at the book girl apologetically, wrapping her own arms around her friend welcoming the hug, she giggled a light blush painting her cheeks when she began to explain her reasoning for not being around. "I'm so sorry!... You remember that drawing hobby that I had? Well as of last month I began a comic strip for extra cash, and my job- You remember 'Clingy Joe', he called me in at least once a day this week- At least. Who even can afford that many massages in one week?" She sighed.

Pulling back she explained her reasoning for not visiting her best friends shop, and for not helping out with the customers. "Also.." She smiled biting her lip in excitement as she pulled up her right sleeve up to show her newly healed tattoo's. "I had these done last week and I knew it would be more of a hindrance than a help if I were to go in. So I took a week off so it could heal a bit." Decim smiled her left lip piercing pulling a bit on her pale skin as her red lips stretched into a wide smile.

Her tattoo's were no longer simple dots like before, now it was a series of intricate lines woven to curves in a sleeve, had she pulled her jacket off she would have shown the tattoo extending a little past her shoulder, the ends curving down in feathery wings. The Celtic seeming art matching her Scottish/Irish heredity, she was overjoyed to finally be sharing her new joy with her best friend.

@Love The Game Just waiting for a reply..

“No,” Kyler responded with a small shake of his head. He’d lived in a few different states throughout his childhood; Ohio, Illinois, and then finally Wisconsin, where his parents and his sister currently resided. “I just go to school here,” he put in as he reached for the handle of the front door to the library.

Without his books, Kyler’s purpose for coming to the library was void. He had no reason to be going into the public building, but the woman who he was currently conversing with was heading inside, and he didn’t want to be rude by cutting the conversation off at the head. Besides, it wasn’t like she knew about the forgotten books, right? When it came time to part ways, Kyler could just duck into the fiction section of the library and browse there, as though that was his intention all along. It seemed like the better choice of his options, anyway. Socialization with strangers wasn’t one of his strong points.

“So you moved here? Where are you from?” Considering her earlier vocabulary, Kyler assumed she was of Korean origin, like his family was. For the most part, he was curious about whether or not she’d been born there in the country or elsewhere, like him and his sister had been.

**Jax**

Having grown a bit bored with his book, Jax stands up and puts it away. He exits the library with the strap of his bag precariously close to the edge of his shoulder, and his violin case firmly in his hand. Again, he puts his hood up as he leaves the building.

Fancying a nice chai tea, he leaves the campus, heading toward the shopping centre across the street. Whilst waking, he notices three girls. A pudgy, short, redhead, showing off tattoos that had obviously just healed; not her soul tattoo, and not a tree. The girl she was showing them to paid attention closely, whilst the other girl seemed to be simply there.

Jax shakes his head as he realizes he'd been looking for a tree on the redhead. The tattoos were shit, just a quirk of the species. Sure, some people matched their soulmate so, but sometimes they also get fucked over like you wouldn't believe. A friend of his- a gay friend of his- matched tattoos with a girl.

Again, he shakes his head, and walks in to the small cafe to order his tea. He'd been going here since the middle of his freshman year, when Starbucks was out of tea. He discovered then that they were much, much better.

@Aes @anyone ((Aes, just cause you're his soulmate and he noticed you idk))

**Luma**

Somehow, she managed to be early for class. Also, she somehow managed to screw up the date. Realizing as it was freshman who came in, and not sophomores that she didn't have psychology until tomorrow, she groans and shoulders her bag, finishing off her cappuccino.

In a way, she was happy, she was really only taking the class because it was needed to major in creative writing, but she was also a bit disappointed. The class was actually really interesting.

'But, whatever, that just gives me time to sit in the cafe and work on my book', she thinks, and tucks a loose piece of hair behind her ear as she leaves the science building she heads toward the cafe.
