Kurotsuki

One body, many minds
About a week had passed since the attack on the academy. Crona's trial class the previous day had gone considerably well, and they were now enrolled as a full-time student. This morning, they stayed close to Maka, waiting for the teacher to arrive and class to begin.
Professor Stein arrived to class a few minutes late, and it took a moment for everyone to quiet down. Once everyone was seated and silent, they announced there would be another new student joining class Crescent Moon. Heads turned towards the door, which slowly creaked open.

"Come on, we don't have all day," Stein called to the student hesitating in the hallway.
A girl peeked inside, then immediately drew back. A quiet voice, which they could assume was hers, was barely audible from the hall. "There's so many... there's a lot of people in there. A-and they're all looking at me..."
Stein sighed. "Either get in here or you can go explain to Lord Death why you skipped class on your first day."

She didn't respond, but finally gathered the courage to step inside the classroom. She was a girl of average height, thin, with ghostly pale skin and wild reddish-orange hair. Her uneven bangs mostly covered her eyes, so you couldn't read her expression. But you wouldn't need to, her shuffling footsteps towards the front of the room and her slightly hunched-over posture gave it away. After a short (inaudible to students) conversation with Prof. Stein, she refused to introduce herself to the class and was simply directed to an empty seat near the back of the room. She began walking to her seat, but seemed to panic halfway and ran the rest of the way, closing the distance in mere seconds.

The professor ignored all of this, beginning class as usual. Their lesson today was simply to read a few chapters on soul resonance in their textbooks. The 'good' students, including Maka, immediately got to it, while others like Soul just opened up the book and paid zero attention. The new student had captured Crona's attention, and they quickly glanced up towards her. She had the textbook, unopened, on her desk, and appeared to be holding back tears already. Figuring they had better study while they had the chance, they forced themselves to try to focus and read the required text rather than worrying about the girl.
