Coming to the tree
They strung up a man
They say who murdered three
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight

Twenty-six years have passed since the infamous days of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark and their controversial time in 74th Hunger Games. However, despite their defiant double-suicide in the 74th and the resulting riots and civil unrest that ensued, no lightning was used to break the system, no Mockingjay ever became a revolutionary symbol, no ravaging Second Rebellion sparked and most importantly, no real change ever rose from the ashes.
Power still rests under the cold possession of the Snow Regime. Poverty and oppression still permeates the majority of Panem's population and the Capitol still rests it's iron grip on the bruised throats of the twelve known districts, particularly on those that had participated in the four-year series of small revolts that was nicknamed the Nightlock Nights in honor of the two tributes that had lit the match. Most tragically of them all, the beastly embodiment of it all still lives on, robbing the districts of twenty-three young lives each year.
However, this time exciting changes have been made. The Capitol celebrates a century of this brutal tradition as well as the first Quarter Quell in 50 years, all in honor of the beloved former president, Coriolanus Snow. Inspired by the special dual-victor nature of the 74th Hunger Games, twelve lives of all ages have volunteered to partake in this historic event, fit with depraved twists and turns unlike any others seen before in the Games. To live, to fight, and to die.
Or so they think.
Welcome tribute, to the 100th Quarter Quell Hunger Games.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
the rules.
➵ RULE I | all rpn rules apply
➵ RULE II | this rp is semi-literate and planned long-term (fingers crossed). i would also love a 'post every few days' kind of rhythm so please check your schedules and make sure you can make time for this rp! if you plan on dropping from the face of the earth ⁽ᵇᵉᶜᵃᵘˢᵉ ʷᵉ ᵃˡˡ ᵏⁿᵒʷ ᶦᵗ'ˢ ᶠˡᵃᵗ⁾ lemme know!
➵ RULE III | i am looking for around five more players who are willing to play two characters each - the victor and the sacrifice; both of whom should be fairly fleshed out and unique so that the sacrifice's death has impact. if you cannot do this, please redo sided before joining!
➵ RULE IV | to ensure that i have characters that will best fit with what I have in mind, the roles are not first come first serve! however, if you are the only one who ends up with a character/characters applying for a district, you will be chosen!
➵ RULE V | don't be afraid to ask questions and help with the overall process/plot! the world and events in this rp's Hunger Games will largely depend on our imagination, so i'm looking for people who are willing to build this world and the characters in it alongside me!
➵ RULE VI | for the best possible brainstorm and communication between us, having discord is a must :>
➵ RULE VII | please read the lore before beginning a character! the info on there mostly focuses on what my twist on an alternate future of the Hunger Games is like, but if you want more in-depth info on the universe itself, don't hesitate to check out the HG wiki!
➵ RULE VIII | this is only my second time hosting an rp by myself so please bear with me (╥﹏╥)
➵ RULE IX | if you read all of this, state your interest, what districts you want and the magic word: ᴛᴀᴍʙᴏᴜʀɪɴᴇ !

♚ DISTRICT ONE
District One's industry deals in manufacturing luxury items such as jewelry for the Capitol. Thanks to their loyalty in the First Rebellion as well as the Nightlock Nights, they are favored in the eyes of the Capitol. Inhabitants are usually very wealthy and influential, known to be generally bold and over-confident. Being a career district, tributes are considered as extremely skilled and spend their whole lives training to compete in the Hunger Games, treating it as an honor.

☮ DISTRICT TWO
District Two's industry deals in weapons manufacturing & masonry and is known as one of the wealthiest districts. It also serves as a lesser known recruiting and training ground for the nation's military force: the Peacekeepers. This district is known to be the Snow Regime's most vocal and fervent supporter, resulting in their Career tributes often being Capitol darlings. Yet, despite having been rewarded with better living conditions thanks to their loyalty back in the First Rebellion, many (particularly quarry workers) still suffer from poverty.

DISTRICT THREE
District Three's industry deals in the creation and engineering of technology. They supply the Capitol with top-grade, seamless electronics and are well known to be particularly intelligent and dexterous. However, thanks to the rebellious actions of their ancestors back in the First Rebellion as well as the actions of some in Nightlock Nights, this district is disfavored in the eyes of the Capitol and it's inhabitants live in lower income conditions, toiling in factories.

<>< DISTRICT FOUR
District Four's industry centers around fishing, supplying the nation with bounty from the sea. Unlike many other districts, children from this district learn their trade from a very young age and although illegal, are trained to compete in the Hunger Games as well. Inhabitants are well known for their strength, survival expertise and are often compared to fish themselves in terms of swimming skill. Due to this, this district tends to produce Careers as well.

❂ DISTRICT FIVE
District Five's industry harnesses the energy of the earth and sky in order to power the nation. This district is responsible for generating and supplying the Capitol and the rest of the districts with power and electricity needed to function. Inhabitants here use their proximity to the Capitol to latch onto favors to better their living conditions. Like District Three, tributes from this district are usually known to be as keenly intelligent and sparky as the electricity they distribute.

⇝ DISTRICT SIX
District Six's industry deals in transportation and is known as the largest district in all of Panem. However, it's large size has contributed to issues of instability, abject poverty and a district-wide morphine addiction problem. Many of it's inhabitants are known to be addicts, ironically dislike traveling and face much oppression from the Peacekeepers. Tributes from this district are considered weaker and at an disadvantage for the Hunger Games as many are not trained in weaponry or fighting skills.

♧ DISTRICT SEVEN
District Seven's principal industry is lumber, providing the Capitol with paper and various other tree-based products. Many children in this district also learn their trade at an early age and spend most of their lives in the forest. Despite their poor living conditions, inhabitants from this district are well known to be quite hard-working and blunt. However, their rebellious participation during the Nightlock Nights has earned much distaste from the Capitol and deal with much oppression from the Peacekeepers. Their tributes are well-known for their incredible brawn and deadly skill with axes and are considered to have the most advantage thanks to their lives spent in the forest back home.

✁ DISTRICT EIGHT
District Eight's main industry is textile production, responsible with the task of clothing the backs of district inhabitants and Capitol citizens alike. It also furnishes the Peacekeeper militia with uniforms and it's inhabitants often spend their entire lives at the mercy of the needle as much as they are at the mercy of the Capitol's oppressive rule. However, many underestimate the true might of this unassuming district, especially when it was discovered that it was in District Eight's factories that rebels gathered to instigate the Nightlock Nights. And likewise, despite the supposed gentleness of their industry, tributes from this district are not to be underestimated.

✥ DISTRICT NINE
District Nine's industry deals in grain production, supplying the nation with bountiful harvest, rationed throughout the districts. Like the flat, banal land where they grow their grain, inhabitants of this district are considered to be quite simple and lackluster. Poverty is a common sight and tributes are often considered by the Careers as mere sport in the Games thanks to their inexperience with any kind of combat.

♞ DISTRICT TEN
District Ten's industry centers around the raising of livestock, being the Capitol's main source of meat. The gentle lowing of cattle is almost as familiar as the sound of a mother's voice for most inhabitants. The people of this district are well-known for their good nature and kind hearts, which is often considered a disadvantage for the Hunger Games.

❧ DISTRICT ELEVEN
District Eleven's principal industry is agriculture; arguably the most vital food supplier for the Capitol. Thanks to this highlighted importance, the Capitol keeps a particular vice-like grip on this district. Inhabitants, a large majority are which are of darker skin, are treated less like citizens and more like slaves, forced to cultivate crop they are forbidden to eat themselves. Whippings are a common public spectacle and hardship is almost as proliferate as the Peacekeepers that roam the streets. During the Nightlock Nights, this district proved to be the most rebellious of them all, which only earned them more adversity after things finally calmed down. Despite tributes from this district often being malnourished and poor, many have proven to be quite adept at survival thanks to a life spent around plants and toiling in fields and orchards.

☭ DISTRICT TWELVE
District Twelve's industry is a small but mighty one: coal mining. This district is often considered the most wretched of all the district, almost forgotten by all. Nonetheless, in some ways it is a blessing. Inhabitants of this district are left alone to their meager, coal-covered lives with only a few hours of electricity a day and the notion of starving to death a very real possibility. However, after the wayward actions of their infamous tributes and the small, flailing flame of insurgency that followed, this district met much hardship. Later, bombs were used to reduce some areas to complete rubble as a lasting lesson. Despite hailing from the most poor, underdeveloped district, tributes from this district have earned a certain reputation of being very capable and resourceful.

not much is known about cain jeremiah taylor. his most favorable impression is that of a young, sarcastic, if somewhat enigmatic nomad with a questionable appetite for smokes & whiskey, occasionally seen with a snow white feline trailing behind him. if lady luck was merciful, that was what cain left behind for any and all bothering to give a rat's ass. nothing would slip out; none on about being a disillusioned deserter, running away from the glory of battle, the noose haunting his every step and the bullets echoing in his sleep. nothing on being an orphan, desperate to find a place in the world, a mere boy struggling to find the meaning of being a man. no, not a word, not a whisper slips out; secrets must remain buried, skeletons tucked deep isnside their closets. but as cain enters the state of massachusetts and comes across a small, unassuming town in the middle of nowhere, there is a feeling that that is about to change.
