  utherford University has been a top notch university ever since its establishment in 1889. With an acceptance rate of 5.9%, it remains one of the most selective universities in the country. Only the brightest, the most unique, the most creative—the cream of the crop, can attend. Students are met with awestruck gazes bordering on reverence when they announce that they attend Rutherford, those that they are talking to wishing that they, too, attended.
  
  While Rutherford is home to top notch academics and students, it is also home to hundreds of clubs and societies. These range from cooking club and book club to nursing and honors societies. However, one society stands out above the rest:
  
  Sextus Sensu.
  
  Latin for; the Sixth Sense. But, there’s just one problem: no one knows if it actually exists. Rumor has it that Sextus Sensu has been at Rutherford University ever since its founding and is an invitation only society. Yet, no one has heard any hint of a meeting, has known a member or seen any indication of existence. This doesn’t stop people from believing or dreaming of joining.
  
  But it does exist. Sextus Sensu does exist— it’s just that no one knows who is in it, where the meetings are, who the members are. The members are forbidden to talk about the society outside of meetings and gatherings, and so far, the society and its members has remained a secret for over 100 years.
  
  Sooner than they anticipate, the secret might be coming to a close. This past year, Sextus Sensu members have been disappearing. Poof. Gone. Vanishing without a trace. No one can figure out why, how, or where they are disappearing to. After the most recent disappearance, the faculty head, Professor Lovell, a beloved philosophy professor, took it upon himself to investigate.
  
  Then he, too, disappeared. And now they were down to six. Fearing that they could be next, the remaining members decide to take it upon themselves to piece together what happened and where their members might have gone.   The only way to describe Heidi is that of an enigma. It's nearly impossible to nail him down, to figure out exactly the type of person that he is. Even those that he's been friends with for months, years even, don't know who he is, don't know how to describe him when asked. The only thing that everyone can easily agree upon and describe him as is a magnet.
  
  A human magnet.
  
  Maybe it's some sort of aura he exudes, maybe it's something he says or does, no one but him will really know. Regardless, everyone seems to be drawn towards him, and Heidi absolutely revels in it. He loves having everyone's attention on him and only on him, loves making friends and acquaintances, loves making allies and connections. Who knows when you'll need to call a favor in on someone in the future.
  
  When speaking to people, he tends to exude a sort of suave charm, confidence and warmth that seems to automatically draw in whoever he is speaking to. Doesn't matter the subject or context, that person always seems to watch Heidi with rapt attention, eagerly anticipating what will be said next. He's smooth, easy going and friendly, and always knows what to say to make someone feel comfortable.
  
  Some may interpret that smooth talk as a type of manipulation, and it very well could be. Once Heidi knows he's sucked someone in, has them wrapped around his finger, he'll coax and convince them into doing things for him. It's quite a skill to have mastered and he uses it far more frequently than he should.
  
  Others may describe him as the lazy type; the one who sits around while others do things for him. Maybe that's true, maybe it isn't. But Heidi doesn't consider himself lazy, quite the opposite in fact. He's usually the one who initiates things, the one taking action and making plans, the one who will jump at the opportunity to try something new, the first one to volunteer for something that may be dangerous. Regardless of what anyone says otherwise, he's not lazy.
  
  Though he has no issues talking to others and learning everything about them, he absolutely hates talking about himself. It's not because he's super selfless or anything, rather, he does not want to share anything about himself. His private life is private, don't ask, because he won't tell. He'd much rather remain a mystery.

  Alice Jung was born in London, England to two parents who had recently moved over to the UK from Korea. Her childhood was slightly difficult due to the fact that her parents only spoke Korean while english was spoken at school. Despite the language barrier, she adjusted pretty quickly.
  
  Excelling in school and graduating at the top of her class, she then headed off to Rutherford University for her university education. She was asked to join Sextus Sense her third year and during her fourth year, met Samuel "Sam" Park, a Korean-American boy from Chicago. The two instantly hit it off and began dating a few months later. Upon graduation, they moved back to the US, this time to New York, and shortly got married.
  
  Then along came Heidi. He came along way before Alice and Sam were ready to even think about raising a child, but that didn't mean they loved him any less. No. He was their absolute pride and joy, their "beautiful baby boy".
  
  He was a relatively quiet baby and as a toddler, hardly ever threw tantrums. In elementary school, the teachers would all comment how all of the other kids always wanted to play with him and he just let them. There was no exclusion whatsoever. In middle and high school, Heidi was surrounded by friends wherever he went. Some would consider that to be distracting from school, but he always succeeded in balancing school and social life and in terms of GPA, was at the top of the class just like his mother. He dabbled in sports and other extra-curricular's here and there, but the only three that actually interested him were dance, music and soccer.
  
  In high school, he was co-captain of the varsity soccer team, was a member of the dance team and founded the music club. Balancing all of those and still maintaining top grades and a social life was difficult, but he somehow managed. And before he knew it, it was time to apply to universities. Heidi applied to eight universities and got into all of them, though, like both of his parents, had chosen to attend Rutherford. The move to the UK was a little difficult--he'd never been out of the country or that far away from his parents, but adjusted freakishly quickly.
  
  His first year flew by in masses of class, friends and parties. His second year started with him declaring a major/subject/focus and culminated with him being asked to join Sextus Sempra. Sure, he'd heard all of the rumors about the society but didn't actually believe it was real. In fact, he thought this was all some sort of large prank being played on him.
  
  The society must have known he was leaning towards saying no because they then informed him that his mother had been a member. And... what the hell? His mother, his sweet yet crazy, creative and wild mother had been a member? He'd FaceTimed her that night to demand answers, answers that were all thankfully given. She had indeed been a member and had loved every second of it. That answer swayed Heidi somewhat, but what really convinced him was his mother telling him that his father still didn't know she was a member, that he wouldn't know Heidi himself was a member, and that it would be their little secret.
  
  And by the next day, Heidi was the newest member of Sextus Sempra, affectionately known as "the magician".

There are a lot of things that can be said about Ezra but the word ‘boring’ will never be one of them. Some people can describe him as a capricious young man. A wild card. Or in his father’s word, a wasted potential. In Zed’s defense, he sees it as living in the moment. Carpe Diem as he would like to say. He has no regard of his future as long as he is making his present worthwhile. He would go above and beyond just to chase the latest adrenaline rush he can give his mind and body. It is more than safe to say that is he is a bit reckless, obstinate and irresponsible. A daredevil who likes to push things to their limit and gamble everything away that he has to offer. May it be in words or in actions. He likes to think that he can command fate and can make them bow down to him and his whim.

It may not look like it but he is a dutiful son and a good brother. He has a strong sense of responsibility and obligation. All instilled by the lectures and fear of his father. Family still means something to him and Zed loves his brother deeply. He would put his love one’s safety and needs above his and he would go great lengths for it. No hesitation.

Despite of the vanity and the positive demeanor he is showing, Zed has a lot of insecurities hiding deep within. He would often fill the void with gallons of alcohol, clouds of smoke, tons of parties, and life-threatening adventure but in reality, he just wanted some sense of belongingness. The feeling that he’s somehow wanted and needed. As much as he is vocal, he is having a hard time saying things from the heart. He often hides his feelings behind heavy sarcasm and flippancy. He is a little hypersexualized due to the crowd around him and the outrageous parties he’s been in. Sex is the consolation he has if he can’t find love. He has a crude sense of humor, and often times would spout sexual innuendos wherever and whenever. He is manipulative and a good liar but he understands when someone says no and enough. After all, he came from old money and being a gentleman is the first thing he was taught ever since he was a little boy. Most of the times he has the attention span of a goldfish but whenever he wants something, his determination and focus is unwavering and unparalleled

His carefree and laid-back aura might be overwhelming but he has a sensitive side albeit only known to some. He’s never the romantic type but if he likes someone, he tends to be borderline cheesy sweet and crazy. He can’t confess upfront but he will do random gestures and crazy stunts in order for the other party involve notice. He may not be a sage and a good advisor but he is a great listener and a good confidant, especially whenever he is sane and sober. With all things to consider, Zed is a reliable and an understanding friend and he may not the first one to be there, but he’ll stick with them through and through. Zed can also be considered as an athlete but he is not playing to win, he is just playing to be challenged. A trait that pisses his father greatly but the young man gave up a long time ago to care for his opinions. Competent, clever, witty and agile, others consider him as jack of all trades but he’s not one to ponder.

In his milder and calmer days, Zed cherishes his alone time just within the solace and comfort of his own room, finishing his jigsaw puzzles and drinking hot cocoa if he is not sleeping like a house cat, all curled up on his couch.

appearance : Ezra stands in 6'1 in height and he weighs an average of 183 lbs. His build is somehow slim yet lean due to him playing sports and intense physical activities. He has a strong angular face and mild bony nose. That and his smoldering bold blue eyes are all from his father's features. Family friends often spouted he's the spitting image of his father but his short untamed light chestnut brown hair is from his mother. He often dons a simple shirt, hoodie, jeans and sneakers to pair up with but whenever it's time to dress to impress, he sure knows how to carry a Varvatos and Devore.

Ever since when Zed was a kid, he already had a strain relationship with his father, Ezra Gabriel Lexington II. It wasn’t something that he understands before when he young, and it wasn’t something that he will pretend to understand now when he’s already a grown up. Although his father pampered them with material things, he’s just as bad as an absent father. Zed, his mom Emily and his little brother named Keith, lives in the country manor in Cheshire, England while his father only comes home during the weekends as he works in the city managing their cargo business. Nevertheless, whenever he is at home he is still working and had no time to spare for his sons. Whenever he speaks to them, it is to complain or to reprimand.

Their relationship became even more dreadful when an accident happened one summer when Zed was just 7 and Keith was 5. They were spending time in their lake house and the two kids left unsupervised. Both his parents trusted him to take care of his younger brother. They were playing on their boat by the dock, creating their own worlds about pirates and Indians when suddenly the rope anchoring them snapped and the wind took them father and farther away from the dock. Probably out of panic, instead of sitting still, Keith moved and somehow fell. Zed could see his brother trashing and trying to scream for help but he was frozen in place. He wanted to reach out but his mind was clouded. His visions even became blurry from the tears streaming from his eyes. It was a good thing when one of their helpers found them and immediately swam in their direction. When they were back on dry land, Keith was unconscious and Zed was cold and unmoving. Keith recovered and somehow forgotten about the incident but Zed was traumatized and suffered sleepless nights from guilt. He didn’t speak for months and as much as he can he never strayed away from Keith again. After the incident, he vowed to protect him no matter what. He promised that he will be brave and even if it cost him his life, he will never let anything happen to his baby brother.

Of course, the treatment of his father became much worse. Before it was all cold shoulders, and now he could feel the wrath on his father’s eyes and disappointment. Zed understood, as he felt the same way about himself.

They continued having an au pair and tutors instead of going back to school. As part of rehabilitation, Zed was given a horse and was taught on how to ride and take care of it. As it turns out he has penchant for horses and riding. It’s in his blood as the men in their family used to compete in sporting events. After a year he was able to show a part of his old self again, playful and caring but only to Keith. He is his constant companion and best friend.

The next year the two were shipped off back to their school and even then, Zed would still look after his brother.

Their mother was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease after two years. It’s a fatal and degenerative disease. Now they know that the endearing clumsiness their mother has is because of something much crueler. They could see the progression of the disease taking over her body. On her sick bed, there she told Zed that he had to live his life. That Keith needs to live his life too and Zed can’t protect him always. Since it is a genetic disease, there is a high chance that they could have it as well so they need to enjoy what they have. They need to live their lives and value it with no regrets and no what ifs. Life is truly precious because it ends.

It was the push Zed needed and he fulfilled his mother’s words. He may have done it with much more intensity and risky stunts (from snowboarding to extreme skiing and wild after parties.) but still, he is now living his life. Even then, he never forgotten his promise of him taking care of his brother.

Zed couldn't care less about his life in the university. He knew after graduation he would be taking care of the family business and he needed to be as serious as he can in order to excel and actually help out. He needs to hold the fort until his brother graduated. Or that’s what he believes. His first year was all going well when he received a mysterious letter. On his accommodation, a letter in a fancy black card with only a place in time written in an elegant and elaborate golden script was delivered.

It was an invite from Lord Thomas Cabot. A business magnate, so influential and so powerful that a mention of his name can get you in any fancy hotel or even out of trouble. Half intrigued and half pissed; Zed went to the meeting. There Lord Cabot proposed an arrangement. He will write a respectable letter of recommendation for Zed to some secret organization hidden by their university and only known to a number of students in exchange for his help. He is a sure thing, Lord Cabot promised since Zed already had the name and the background. His great great-great grandfather was a member but something happened. It’s probably his ancestor’s fault but nonetheless, the organization will look past it since he’s probably got one of the most vital part of the requirement. The money. Though his attitude can be questionable at times, it can still be corrected while some might find them endearing. After all, he's a young man and Lord Cabot believed that he still got time to reflect on his behaviors.

All he had to do is once he got accepted is to provide him information of what is happening within the secretive organization in order for the gentleman to destroy it.

See, Lord Thomas Cabot’s father was a member of Sextus Sensu, so as his father before him. Naturally, Lord Cabot felt it was a birthright that he should be invited in as well. Oh, he got in alright but Lord Cabot has a twin brother, they were both thinking that they will be invited but Theodore, his twin, waited year after year, his invitation never came. Only Thomas received one and under a binding oath, he can't tell him about it. It may be a small thing, but Theodore took it hard and bad. He got obsessed in finding out about the enigmatic society that it drove him mad and eventually, drank himself to death. Although Thomas Cabot is part of it, he blamed the organization solely for the tragedy of his family. It was misplaced anger but it is better than blaming himself for the death of his brother. He knew he can't just break a great institution no matter how powerful he is, not without help. And thus, Zed came into view. He is not certain if he can tear the whole thing apart but a small dent on the elitist society would be an achievement.

In exchange for his help, Lord Cabot will help out his father’s company. Zed wasn’t aware but last 3 years ago, their cargo business is on the brink of bankruptcy then it miraculously recovered quickly. Lord Cabot provided him proofs of his father dealing with shady business partners to help out the company and now, some of the authorities are closing in. Lord Cabot promised that he will stop it from happening if and only if Zed will keep his mouth shut and help him out.

Zed was never the good son. He was the one labeled as the black sheep. The bane of his father, and now, he was given a chance to help the family business, a way to help his brother out and give him the future that he deserves. He promised himself that he will not throw away his shot even if it means to betray and use people just to do it.

  there wasn't anything special about theo's early life. she was born an only child to daniella and arthur chase and she was something of a miracle baby since they'd been trying hard to have a child and were met with a series of miscarriages. by the time theo was born, both of her parents were a little older than most, but none of that really mattered because even as a baby, with her dusty blue eyes and a toothless grin, she'd already started to make people smile.
  
  theo's mother is largely responsible for most of her interests today. she was the one who enrolled her in ballet classes when she was five and theo absolutely adored them. she was also the one who taught her how to play the piano, how to speak in two other languages besides english, and best of all — how to make french toast, a dish that theo could never get tired of because it came to be the best kind of comfort food.
  
  theo was extremely close to her mother, which was why it hit her very hard when at eight years old, she was informed that her mother had a terminal illness. she'd been battling it for a while, but young theo hardly noticed because her mother always had a smile on her face, and always still put theo's feelings (and everyone else's feelings, for that matter) ahead of her own. she was a beacon of light, she reached the heights of positivity, and all of it hid the fact that she was terrified about her life on earth coming to an end.
  
  when it became clear that that time was coming soon, it felt wrong not to tell theo. she cherished every moment with her mother from that moment on, and six months later, theo developed the memory of attending her very first funeral. as heartbroken as she was, her mother taught her a lot, especially in her final moments. theo looked up to her mother even after death and it inspired her to become the extremely jovial person she is today. no matter her feelings, ensuring a positive and comfortable atmosphere was more important, because there's no sense in bringing other people down just because you're down.

  life changed a bit after her mother's death. her father, whom theo was close to as well, became a little distant and threw himself into his work. he was the chief of police in the small town that they lived in so he worked long hours. theo constantly believed that he needed more taking care of than she did so she tried to whip things up for dinner when he came home. sometimes it was french toast. most of the time it was french toast, but she tried other things too. granted, not all of it was edible, but her commitment was the only thing that mattered because it helped her father look past his recent loss to focus on taking care of the person that mattered most in his life.
  
  as the years went by, life went on. theo continued to practise ballet and gained some of the most important parts in most of the productions she was a part of. while her average high school classes were of no interest to her, she managed with them. and when it came time to finally pick which university she wanted to go to, she chose rutherford. there was a part of her that believed she wouldn't be accepted given that some of her grades weren't among the best like many other applicants, but theo was talented in various other fields, and she was an exceptional performer, which was ultimately what got her an acceptance letter.

Obsessive: Bonnie's biggest vice is her inability to deviate from her plan. Once she sets a goal, she is incredibly hard on herself until said goal is met. She needs to know every minute detail of a plan, and if it's at all possible, she tries to sieze control of said plans to make sure they continue on in what she believes to be the best course of action. She expects others to keep up with her and gets very distrught when her expectations are not met.

Competitive: Despite her only child upbringing, Bonnie is fiercely competitive. She always compared herself to her peers growing up, and felt the need to be better than them, this behavior was rewarded by her parents so it was never something she grew out of. Bonnie would stay up all hours of the night to study for an exam, just to prove that she could get the highest marks. She'd practice her instruments until her fingers were sore and calloused to prove she was just as good, if not better than her peers. She'd but in all this effort behind the scenes and then play it off as if she had "barely studied", or she "only practice for a few minutes." She needed others to be impressed by her.

Over-cautious: Bonnie is the opposite of a risk-taker, she always says that taking risks gives her hives. She's always going to go with the safe bet. Unplanned outcomes are not welcomed in her life. Her friends make her feel like she's aged 30 years since meeting them since it seems like no one else has a bone of self-preservation in their body. Maybe it's just the mom friend instinct, she wants to keep her more adventurous friends safe, so she feels like she has to overcompensate by being completely risk-averse.

Confident: Bonnie is always so damn sure of herself. She's worked very hard to get where she is, and she's proud of herself for what she's accomplished. She prides herself on her good work ethic and truly believes that's there's nothing she couldn't do without some time and effort on her part. Despite first assumptions, Bonnie is good at talking to people and has a way of making people feel comforted by her presence. She speaks with certainity and usually with positivity.

Intuitive: Her gut feelings never lead her wrong. She swears she has a spidey sense for when things are about to go sideways, and she always trusts her instincts. Bonnie can also read a room as easily as one reads a book. She can usually tell when something is on someone's mind, and while she "doesn't want to pry" (yes she does), she will try and talk things out with that person.   Everything about Henry seems to be going at a hundred miles per hour, from his roaming hands to his hectic brain to his beloved 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle. He lives life in the fast lane. There never seems to be a dull moment with Henry around. There's a warmth to him that invites others to come to know more. He's not so bold to call himself the life of the party, but he's got a good eye when it comes to gauging the comfort level of others. He's well acquainted with social cues and he can relieve the pressure off of others if they're grasping for straws. He'll never leave somebody feeling stranded - especially somebody he invited or somebody he knows well. Some might say he's far too protective of those around him as a result, but he calls it responsibility.
  
  It's easy to establish a rapport with Henry. He plays the fool, he's witty and always up to banter. It's easy to think that Henry's hardly as intelligent as his scores make him out to be when he's going off on a tangent. He acts upon whims. Despite his deadly intelligence, he rarely puts it to use unless a really perplexing problem comes his way. Henry rarely plans ahead for the future. To him, what he does and what he becomes is hardly as important as the here and now. The sensations, the world he can perceive, and what is real and tangible at the current moment holds precedent to Henry. It wouldn't be wrong to call him careless when it comes to his future and his own wellbeing. He lives life on the edge; he's a well-known hoarder of experiences and short thrills.
  
  Due to his rather easy-going behavior, it's quite easy for some to believe Henry's daft and guileless. This man can hold a grudge like a motherfucker though. Despite his high tolerance, when one offends Henry it's rarely a short scuffle. Henry's memory is an unforgiving steel trap, clinging to memories, words, and actions without giving. Though he'll keep his disdain under wraps, when an opportunity arrives for him to have the last laugh he won't be one to turn it down.
  
  Henry's schedule is also hard to place. Though he frequents bars and pubs often, he also takes his work and hobbies seriously. His available hours are a mystery to everyone - Henry included. He works hard and plays harder. That's not to say he does a sloppy job. Anything that passes through Henry's hands will be treated with utmost respect and care.   ◈ urban exploration - Though it's hard to peg Henry as the type to hop fences and enter abandoned buildings, tunnels, and the like, it's been a hobby of his for quite some time now. Having spent a good deal of his youth on the streets, he finds the forgotten and restricted alluring.
  ◈ art - There's a room in Henry's apartment that's always locked. He doesn't like sharing his private works, but it always smells of paint, and sometimes there's a stain here or there on the edge of his sleeve. Henry loves presenting his work in the public eye without getting any recognition. He's painted large murals in the dead of night signed with two innocent letters - WH.

  An illegitimate child, Henry was the product of a one night stand. His father didn't know of his existence and his mother often sought the arms of strangers for some semblance of stability in her life. Henry's upbringing could only be described as hectic. His mother was an avid gambler, falling in and out of rocky relationships. She never had enough time for him and when she returned home he found himself tending to her rather than vice versa. Ever since he was thirteen, Henry was working to put a meager amount of food on the table. Their relationship was always strained and when his boss noticed bruises on him, that was the last he saw of her. He never turned back from there. A part of him regrets leaving, always wondering if he would ever meet her again. Another part no longer cares.
  
  Xǔ Yong Hao was salvation in disguise. An owner of a small restaurant, Yong Hao was a widower without any family to call his own. Henry and Yong Hao made for a strange family unit of two, but life was good. It was quiet and it was simple. No longer burdened by his mother, Henry was excelling in school for the first time in a long time. Classes came easily to him and he was consistently at the top of his class. The world was at his fingertips. He helped out at the restaurant as he always did, but Yong Hao made certain he finished his homework before getting involved in the business.
  
  When he completed his junior secondary schooling, much to the surprise of his teachers, he had made a full comeback in his education and was guaranteed a spot in any senior secondary school he wanted to attend. Yong Hao could not be proud of his son. Upon completing his studies and earning HKDSE, Henry aimed for the stars not knowing what failure would feel like. His arrogance knew no boundaries and Henry gambled his future on a handful of applications to the most prestigious and renowned universities, confident that he would be accepted. And accepted he was. It had been a difficult decision to pick and choose between his options, but eventually, the allure of Rutherford University ensnared him.
  
  Though he had never left Hong Kong for an extended period of time, Henry was more than confident he would be able to strike out on his own. There was so much to be seen and experienced at Rutherford and Henry made himself at home. He enjoyed being surrounded by individuals who - though not exactly his equals in intelligence - rivaled him in many regards. It was the first time he felt like there was true competition.
  
  His first year at Rutherford was enjoyable. He fell into the rhythm quite easily. For Henry, life was always a dangerous cocktail of sleepless nights, wild parties, and flings. Even when he was living with Yong Hao, his independence had been hard to contain - like a wild horse. However, one thing bothered Henry. It kept him awake at night.
  
  Sextus Sensu.
  
  An avid fan of mysteries and the unknown, it was something that grated on his nerves. His desire to know more made him dig into the organization on his own time, but to no avail.   There was always an air of kindness around Kael. Except 'kindness' wasn't the exact word for it. While he wasn’t always kind, he was always polite, and there was a significant difference. To be kind was to go out of your way to do good onto others, providing what could only be seen as a treasured rarity. But politeness was linked to etiquette; societal standards—a customary code, you could say, that he'd grown into.
  
  While Kael made sure to ask about one’s day or how they’d been faring with their assignments or requirements, Kael remained, for the most part, quiet. He refused to make unnecessary noise that didn’t contribute anything positive to himself or to the other party. The quiet was something he came to appreciate, after years of being surrounded by the wrong type of silence. And while he doesn’t mind those who are noisy, he’d simply prefer it otherwise.
  
  Being a Spradlin regrettably came with structure. It came with etiquette and scrutinizing pairs of eyes, but least of all, it came with being organized. At times, when he glances at the pristine floors (Not a stray piece of laundry or alcohol spillage in sight) and the neat rows of books, he is tempted to mess it all up. But, he opted not to. It helped, especially when it came to distributing tasks and keeping people in order. He was organized with his own time too, always able to keep track of how much he was spending on different aspects of his life.
  
  Determined to prove his relatives wrong, he never relied on negativity or pressure in order to help someone. Kael was motivational, and made it his goal to always give pushes, not shoves, towards a person’s ultimate goal. He gave suggestions if people were struggling and informed them that perfection was impossible—all they could do was try their best and hope it all works out in the end.
  
  Least of all, Kael valued patience. Time was short, yes, but if he spent it getting upset over how slow everything and everyone was, he’d be spending it terribly. Waiting never bothered him, least of all waiting for other people. Although he did give an emphasis to due dates, he would understand if there was a valid reason for it.

  With mystery and responsibilities comes the uninvited necessity of being distant, at least in Kael’s case. He was never around, perhaps off attending to one of his clubs or locked up in his room studying, but sometimes even that wasn’t the case. No one really knew what the case was, nor did anyone think another person knew. Being closed off meant that he didn’t have any close friends—ones that you’d talk to in the middle of the night or keep company during studies. He was, for the most part, separated from it all.
  
  Whenever he spent time outdoors, he made sure never to think about the house he’d spent most of his life in. He didn’t want to be back in Wales, both in the material realm and his thoughts. Kael never wanted to be there whether he was outdoors or indoors, but sometimes there was just no helping it. His grudges against the Spradlins has made him resentful, full of hate towards them. It was always on his mind too—conscious of how he acted and whether or not he even remotely resembled them in words and actions.
  
  Kael didn’t want to, but there were times when he strayed from where he wanted to be. He got envious. He was envious of those who had constant communication with their parents for most of their life, even up until now. He was envious of the little things, more or less. But from a third party perspective, most of it linked up to one main reason. The Spradlins’ attitude towards him, and his parents’ absence.
  
  Competitions never made Kael feel good. Not because he was bad at them (Though there had been a handful where he was), but because he knew himself well and he was quite the competitive one. It was a trait of his that made his stomach coil in on itself, because it reminded him of, as always, the Spradlins. He attempted to keep the determination and disappointment only towards himself, but there were times that it would be extended towards others. If it did, he always apologizes afterwards.
  
  While his motivation and patience made up for it, Kael was a rigid person. He reacted badly to change, resulting in weeks of stress and causing a rift in his habits. It would take him weeks (A year and a half in the case of being in Rutherford) to be able to revert back to the momentum he held before, but even then, the experience is awful.

  Kael had found himself drawn to hiking outdoors. From all the stories his parents had told him when they returned about nature and just how vast and different everything was—Kael wanted to be part of that too. So he found himself hiking in the early mornings, when the Spradlins weren't up yet, and nobody would scold him for being out of line. He surrounded himself with nature as much as possible, despite being quite a terrible gardener who was never really able to determine how much water a plant needed.
  
  Along with his love for the vast cultures of the world came reading. Often in batches, he’d purchase dozens of reading material regarding geographical, historical and cultural aspects of different places of the world. Sometimes, he’d manage to wander into the library and pick up something on indigenous tribes of Columbia, and check out five more than he’d come to read.
  
  One of the things he did, however, he kept close to himself and told no one of it, not even his parents. He kept the scrap pieces of fleeting thoughts close to his heart, despite it being scarce. Kael’s poetry, he promised himself, would never reach the light of day, perhaps due to embarrassment, perhaps due to his proclivity to remain a mysterious figure.

  It was an unlikely pairing. An unlikely encounter. An unlikely connection, and yet, it happened. Tuan Huyhn came from Vietnam, in a lower-middle-class family. They were able to afford a house, food, and most items they needed, but not so much what they wanted. The little things that Kael’s father loved or wanted to explore more; books, writing, technology (If fancy clothes were a part of this, he wouldn’t admit it)—were not catered to. At least, not yet.
  
  Then came Therese Spradlin into the picture. One of the families among the sea of the rich located in Wales was the Spradlins. Somewhere in the middle of the rich’s bar is where they fell. So how did they come to the possession of a significant amount of money? Due to their ancestors’ participation in the complicated game of investments regarding properties, technology, and the strict organization of their wealth, they managed to concoct something of high value. And with some of Kael’s mother’s older aunts and uncles having some sort of position in the government in the past, it made their name flourish within the country.
  
  On a rare opportunity to travel to Thailand to visit his cousins, Kael’s father had come across Therese Spradlin. He knew nothing of her and she of him—and it was exactly what the other was looking for. Tuan had been divorced at the time with no children, and Therese had been pressured to find a ‘rich’ husband soon, but they wanted to make it work. They ended up married five years later, in Tuan’s hometown, and conceived Kael a year afterward. Unfortunately, this resulted in Therese being cut off from her family, but she knew she would do fine on her own. She was a smart woman, and so was Tuan.
  
  At the age of five, Kael and his parents finally visited Therese’s extended family in Wales, which was almost as large as Tuan’s was, after years of reluctance because of their initial reaction. Consisting of three uncles and two aunts (Not including the ones who married into the family), and too many to count cousins. Upon arrival, they were greeted with tight-fitted smiles and stiff hugs. Kael’s parents were suspicious of their attitude towards Kael and their small family’s overall situation, but with more convincing and fake concern for their child’s well-being, they’d decided to give it a try.
  
  His mother's side offered to help raise Kael in a suitable environment all the while the two of them could travel to wherever they pleased, or even stay in Vietnam for a few years. Therese refused, her concern about her family’s sudden shift of views only growing, but Tuan was interested. He wanted what was best for his son, and if Kael could be able to have and do the things he couldn’t, then that would be enough for him. They argued about this for ages, but in the end, they were struggling and this seemed to be the best option for their child. This was how Kael ended up being in the care of the Spradlin family.
  
  Tuan and Therese were only allowed to visit twice a month. This may seem like a small amount and that’s because, well, it is. It was a ridiculous set up too. This would last until Kael had completed his tenth year of school and his years at the Spradlin household were not one he’d consider anything that resembled a childhood.
  
  Kael barely had any time to be a child. He started private lessons earlier than most, was forced to take up hobbies he was indifferent towards, and even had his younger and older cousins to deal with every single day. He had to grow up fast because any time his younger cousins broke something or hurt each other, he was somehow to blame—any time he talked back to his older cousins or said something they thought was stupid, he’d get told on. Kael was still the center of attention, but a vastly different kind he’d garnered from his parents.
  
  He was forced to stay at the Spradlin’s for one reason and one reason only—to be hated, and to be shaped into someone who had an ounce of ‘Spradlin’ in his name. To the Spradlin’s, Kael was practically an illegitimate child. They made sure to wipe all and any traces of being a ‘Huyhn’ and being part of a less than acceptable family.
  
  But he didn’t hate it there. Not really. Not when he was visited by his parents who seemed so happy, who seemed so clueless of what they’d gotten him into—who seemed to always be in doubt of themselves, whether or not they were doing the right thing. Kael didn’t have the heart to do that to them. He couldn’t tell them that he’d spend the last year, two, then five, then ten then more, being watched from all corners of the room. He couldn’t. And he didn’t.
  
  When Kael was allowed to return to his parents, he’d asked them what they wanted. After a lengthy discussion, they managed to convince the Spradlins to be able to stay with their child for the last few years before he had to leave for university and those years...were one of the best. Excluding his five years of childhood, he barely remembered, of course. Kael and his parents spent their time together, talking about the different places they’d encountered, the languages, the culture, the vibrancy of it all. And Kael couldn’t wait for his own self to go out and discover the unknown.
  
  The time came for his applications, the Spradlin family helped him enroll in multiple, more than ten. They were afraid, no—sure, that Kael wouldn’t be accepted into Rutherford University, but he proved them wrong. His application and interview looked appealing, Rutherford standards, despite having been taught privately. It helped that his teachers all came from high-standard universities, one having been from Rutherford herself. But one thing was for sure; Kael could not have gotten in solely because of Spradlin’s name. None of them had ever been accepted, but him? He was the first. He was the first Huyhn, not Spradlin.
  
  To much surprise, Kael didn’t have the best start at Rutherford University. For the first year and a half, the work atmosphere, the system, almost everything was unfamiliar from what he was used to. His workload piled up, his brain was a mess and his parents were gone from his grip once again. This only made the consistent, underlying stress he’d been feeling ever since he’d stayed at the Spradlins’ grow even more.
  
  But he was good at this. He was good at stress, if not new environments. Kael knew himself and how to control the different portions of himself to push him in the right direction. He may have needed a year and a half to adjust (A long time, in terms of how long someone had dropped a grade or two), but once he’d managed it, he was mostly back on track. He’d applied for the yearbook club, the journalism club, and the outdoors voyaging club in the latter half of his second year, and managed to get compliments of how well he was at managing (Albeit, micro-managing as quietly as possible) groups that didn’t mesh well together, instructing them their duties, and seeing it through, as well as motivating them in such a niche method of his own doing.
  
  This is what initially attracted the Sextus Sensu to Kael Huyhn. There was a gap, a two-month gap where he went from having one of the worst starting years in Rutherford, to immediately changing his mentality, or technique—or whatever it was that happened to put him at the top ranks. Not only were they intrigued (This was not a good enough reason for them), but they’d realize his capabilities to manage and divide his time, as well as his odd ways of being able to motivate and inspire his peers.
  
  Kael had heard of the Sextus Sensu, but he doubted he’d ever been able to get in if it did exist. He especially didn’t think it would happen after his drop in his grades, but it did. An invitation out of nowhere. He took his time thinking about it. He knew of it but knew nothing of what they did, what they were for, nor if it was smart enough to add it to his list of responsibilities.
  
  But then, he thought of the Spradlins. He thought of how they governed his every move, his every thought. Kael remembered the scoldings and the scowls from people who were supposed to be his family. Then, there was only one answer for him. This was his chance—his chance to explore the unknown and to choose this one thing that would be by him and from him.

That's not to say he does a bad job, just that he's not dwelling on anything at all. Kori spends enough time on stuff to make sure it is satisfactory, but no more. He's picky with what he does with his time, so whatever he has to do tends to be done quickly.
  
  organized: Due to how he is so focused on being quick, Kori is extremely organized. His books, his clothes, the apps on his laptop; they are all carefully sorted. He absolutely has to have everything in the right place, all the time; he has schedules and reminders galore. Kori does this because he wants to be able to be able to get anything the moment he needs it.
  
  curious: Kori is always hungry for knowledge; he'll find answers, no matter the subject. Most of his curiosity is focused on things that are unknown to humanity; scientific mysteries that nobody has an answer to.

  obsessive: Once Kori is set on a long term task, he's obsessive about it, throwing away anything else that he can to just reach his goal faster. He disregards his social and academic life while doing so, and he can be a pain to be around.

It means that when Kori's thinking about something, he'll completely miss things said and actions done.   Kori's father was an intellectual genius who went to Rutherford, while his mother went to Bristol University. They met in England, moving to America a few years later, in a small suburban town. There, Kori was born. He was very bright, and took a liking to technology. As a kid, Kori was not the social type, and a lot of people didn't like him. He was seen as the genius, and while, in middle school, people tried to cheat off of him, he never let anyone get away with it. While people picked on him at first, Kori would just find some way to get jerks off his back. He had a few close friends that would always argue with each other, and Kori was extremely good at diffusing their heated fighting.
  
  Kori got into robotics at the age of thirteen. He became obsessed with trying to make remote-controlled cars, and frequently would go to car junkyards with his mother to buy parts. Eventually he stopped, mostly because it was costing so much, and instead asked his parents to buy him a drone.
  
  His family bought a relatively cheap one with a camera. Kori loved pretending he could fly without actually being in danger of falling, and got into it. After school, Kori would fly around the drone in the backyard with a few close friends; they would always argue about who got to fly it, and Kori always sorted it out. As a teenager, he got a hexacopter, along with a compatible VR headset. Kori spent a lot of time flying his drone, listening to music and swerving between trees in a nearby hiking area. Even then he was at the top of all his classes, but he really started to focus on pure academics in his senior year of high school.
  
  Kori applied to a few high end universities, and he got accepted to Rutherford. His father wanted him to go to Rutherford, and Kori agreed. It was one of the most prestigious universities in the UK; how could he not? The move was pretty difficult, but Kori got into a routine. He was in a university with the best and brightest, and he opened up a little, joining a robotics club and a drone club. Kori became a well-known mediator for any fights and arguments. He also tried filming videos with his drone. It was in this year that he became interested in the Sextus Sensu; a secret society, which nobody knew about.
  
  In his second year, Kori received an invitation to the Sextus Sensu, and accepted, because it meant that he'd be a part of this mystery, this urban legend that had been around for ages. He never quite knew why, but he suspected that it was because there was a large argument about a new meeting place after the last one had been found. Kori diffused the argument very quickly, and he's been in the Sextus Sensu ever since.
