Phantom Thief of Hearts

We live in the Metal Gear timeline
It began on an Earth of Caped Wonders and Avenging Heroes, when a being of immense power from a plane outside of the multiverse itself, known as the Beyonder, descended upon the planet. And it brought with it droves of other life and realms from across the Omniverse with a mere sway of his hand! And soon he turned the Earth into a hodgepodge of the many Earths throughout the infinite multiverse…

It has been some time since the convergence, now it appears that the Beyonder seems content with observing the planet like an ant farm. What happens next is up to you.

Weave your story, young traveler, but make it a good one.

The UH-60M Blackhawk cleaved its way through the air; swift in adjusting its heading to avoid the large peaks of rockfaces as it battled against the swirling desert winds. The single man in the troop hold had been sitting patiently at the rightmost door, dressed in his matching Desert Fox fatigues. Despite the eyepatch covering his left eye, the man's right had meandered over to watch the moving landscape as the chopper rattled gently from inside. If there was one thing that didn't change for him since his arrival here- it was the familiarity of old. The pilot's deep southern draw belonging to a twenty-something kid who called himself Ace bellowed over the drone of the chopper.

"10 seconds to touchdown, Boss. No contacts sighted."

Standing upright, the man felt his stomach rise into his throat as he quickly stepped over to the door's release handle; pulling it outward and turning it to the right as the door popped open and slid back toward the rear of the aircraft. The dry desert air violently embraced him as he maneuvered to crouch at the bay ledge, his left hand idling on the swivel mount for the M134 across from him. The resemblance to Afghanistan was almost uncanny- save for the scattered ruins of rusted metal constructs, partially-buried sandstone buildings and collapsed titans of machines he didn't believe were done by any Human from his world. Too sophisticated and advanced- then again Metal Gear Sahelanthropus was as well, being built by one man. The parallels never got old. The helicopter arced up as the Auto-Hover was engaged; bringing the flying stallion to heel as the aircraft parked itself a few feet off the ground. "Good hunting, Boss!" Ace boomed as Snake had leapt out of the helicopter and hit the dry ground beneath. Snake brought his left hand to hide his eyes against the swirling rotor-wash until the helicopter peeled away on its flight back to base. Allowing himself a moment to adjust, Snake lowered his arm and looked out and around over his surroundings.

The place was described by his briefing as being nearly identical to Afghanistan, especially up toward the Northeast and parts of the West. Desert flora, fauna, plants, trees, and rivers genetically native to the Middle Eastern country were present within that location, yet the similarities took a dramatic deviation to the East and South; hosting the boundless desert with sandstone pillars and strange metallic scrap ruins. Snake was specifically deployed right on the outskirts of the four dividing biomes; tasked to find and recruit an individual the CRF had taken a particular interest into when they found out they'd arrived here- the same thing happening to him only a few months ago. The role-reversal of him reporting to someone was odd and familiar, but nevertheless, Snake was still very much in his element- and the CRF knew very well not to interfere. Unclipping his iDroid from his battle belt, the man activated the transponder as he spoke into it.

"Snake to Command, touchdown successful. Over."

a pause

"Command acknowledges, proceed with SAR. Intel's last sweep of Sector-23 indicated the target was spotted within a one mile radius due slightly Southeast of your current position. Check your dossier for more info. Remember, ROE is non-lethal and compliance is preferred. Report when ID is made. Over out."

Snake grunted as he stretched, holding the device as if staring at a phone as the dataterminal projected a holographic map of the surrounding topography. He thumbed over to the Intel page, and at the bottom was only what little intel, pictures or otherwise, could be seen of his target. Feminine, athletic and slender with a silver bob-cut head of hair and a form-fitting black combat uniform. Graceful in appearance like someone he once knew. Though the most intriguing to him was a wrap she seemed to wear over her eyes. If she was blind, her hearing would be enhanced- and the last thing he wanted was to scare his target into attack. Rumor around the Command staff was that this wasn't even a person either, some sort of synthetic humanoid. No doubt that's why the CRF took interest, but he wasn't going to waste time with the how and why any longer. He'd find her easily during the day, but he had to be quick. He couldn't risk being out here at night.

Snake deactivated his iDroid and clipped it back onto his belt as he took in his surroundings once more, beginning to move toward the radial dot from his map still fresh in his mind. Fortunately, a cliff formation was near that exact location serving as an overlook. The arid ground and dead fauna crunched beneath the sand and his boots as he trudged on toward the towering formation in the distance; his equipment and AM MRS rifle lightly clattering against his back. From his judgement, it had to be around 15-20 feet at least. Arriving at the base, Venom Snake quickly found purchase and mantled onto a slope that provided a steadily escalating path upward to the peak. Midway there, he got into a prone position and crawled the rest of the way; reaching behind him to bring his IntScope into his hands as he peered down the rangefinder-like device.

"Alright," Snake muttered, "where are you at.."

Reply to Specialist Specialist ‘s intro post
"Pod? Pod! Report." The hot, sandy biome of The Desertlands warmed 2B’s outer shell, mimicking skin. She tried calling for her Pod, knowing it wouldn’t work but finding it worth a try. Wandering through the virtually endless sand dunes, she took in the sight of decaying buildings, rusty scraps of old machines, and then a Blackhawk... wait, a Blackhawk? 2B did a double-take, observing a figure leaping out of it. Unsure if the figure was friend or foe, she refrained from approaching, instead watching the cliff where the figure had landed. Squinting her eyes, her visor, which took the appearance of a simple blindfold, attempted to collect information, but the figure remained too distant for the visor’s zoom feature.

"Who...?" 2B muttered under her breath, unable to clearly discern the mysterious figure. She attempted to hide in the shadow of a nearby dune, though her black outfit made her conspicuous. Positioned northwest of the cliff, she deliberated her next move.

"That person... could they have experienced what I have? Sent to this new world, forced to leave everything behind?" She fell silent, contemplating a plan. While considering sneaking up behind the person, she dismissed the idea due to her easily detectable attire. Alternatively, she could charge in guns blazing, but the stranger might be a potential ally. Opting to let the person detect her, she emerged from hiding, even waving her arms toward the cliff, striving to be as conspicuous as possible.

"HEEEY! OVER HERE!" Despite the distance, she assumed they couldn’t hear her, yet she shouted nonetheless. It wasn’t the smartest idea, but it was an idea nonetheless.

It was really hot today. Come to think of it . It was like that in some parts of Gaia as well. Zack was riding his bike under the hot desert sun. The higher ups at SOLDIER sended him on a mission. They said it was about locating a ...what did they call that again? A synthetic humanoid?

Was was that? A robot? A experiment that escaped Profesor Hojo's lab? They didn't specify anything else. His thoughts were interupted when he noticed two figures in the distance.

A silver haired female dressed in black and a man dressed in a military uniform made for camouflage. He rides to their location. Zack was not the type to be careful.

" Excuse me...I hope I'm not bothering the two of you...Well,you're not hurt right?" Zack asked.

"HEEEEEEEY! OVER HEEEERRRREE!"

"Hm?" Venom Snake arced a brow, looking over from the IntScope as his target quite literally revealed herself into his sight. She'd spotted him before he did. Spotted? Wasn't she blind? Regardless, he momentarily grit his teeth as he pushed himself to a kneeling position and offered a half-wave back. Hopefully the silent acknowledgement was enough; he wasn't one to raise his voice much. As he kicked his heel into the sand and slid down the slope, he recovered into a light jog as he turned back toward the woman's direction and started down to meet her. Go figure, he thought he was camouflaged well enough; the Soviets had been fooled many times in the past- maybe the horn gave it away. His stride was brisk without urgency; his one blue eye darting around every imperceptive feature the initial photographs didn't capture. Partway to closing the distance, Snake held his arms out to his sides and away from both holsters; letting his rifle rattle idly against his chest with each step forward. Snake finally stopped a few meters away from the woman, and it became increasingly apparent he had no idea what to say. He was caught off guard from the circumstance, having planned to apprehend and recruit his target- not be introduced voluntarily for Christssakes. The man's pause lasted only a second; his scarred face searching for words as he spoke with a rough, gravelly voice. "Been out here for a while, Ma'am? Are you hurt?"

The distant rapport of what sounded like a motorbike engine had grabbed his attention shortly after, causing the man to look up and angle his head toward the source. Sure enough, a bike with a lone rider had been tearing down the desert ground; visible streaks of beige dust jettisoning out from both sides of the wheels. Venom Snake calmly turned and tensed his body toward the motorcycle, not making any moves for his weapons. If it was a raider, they'd both be taking fire already. As the bike came to a stop and its occupant dismounted, Snake's good eye squinted past the rolling cloud as the air became clear again. The pair were in stark contrast to one another; the man looking like a soldier of some sort, dressed in something akin to M81 Woodland fatigues- Regardless of happenstance, this was almost as bold of a move as his target had made.

"Excuse me...I hope I'm not bothering the two of you...Well, you're not hurt right?" The man was the first to speak up, prompting Snake to shake his head in the negative and wave his hand. Considering he just asked the synthetic, he wouldn't speak for her. Snake had taken a distrustful stance with how easily the situation drew attention, turning his head to address the man that had just arrived. His orders solely specified the retrieval of his target by any means, and now he had an outlier. Great.

"Fine." Snake quipped for himself, looking at the man and continuing, "Just passing through?" Something gnawed at the back of his mind, and he wasn't sure what exactly was going to happen next. His body language suggested he was tensed, clearly cautious at how crowded the situation was becoming.

Despite Zack being more the friendly type which got him the nickname " Zack the puppy" by fellow SOLDIERs, Zack was careful none the less. He brought his Buster sword with him as he climbed off the bike despite putting it on his back.

The girl didn't reply yet but the man did. He asked if he was passing through. " Well...how can I explain this?" Zack started, scratching his head.
"Say...you're from the military too? Did SHINRA sent you?" The SOLDIER asked.
" My name's Zack Fair,SOLDIER First class. I was tasked in locating and retreive a synthetic and bring it back to SHINRA." Zack explained.

He wondered why he was still working for SHINRA. It seemed not too long ago, they turned against him and Cloud. He was in the verge of death.
Then it happened. He found himself in a bed in a the new SOLDIER HQ...in a new world. SOLDIER was restored. Director Lazard,Angeal,Genesis, they were all brought back ftom the dead. Though Sephiroth was nowhere to be seen. And the weirdest part... SHINRA didn't view him as a fugitive anymore. He was still SOLDIER first class to them.

Right now he needed to focus on the current mission.

2B hasn’t responded to the man’s question regarding her health, as she was too busy looking at the two, calculating the chances of them being friendly or hostile. The one who asked 2B a question had a 72.4% chance of being friendly, but the man in fatigues only had a 43.1% chance. 2B decided to speak up, but still remained cautious, making sure to not speak much, to minimize any possible opportunities to aggravate the two. “My systems are fine.” 2B made sure to stay cautious as she then gave a small nod to the two. “I am a YoRHa android, I do not know what SHINRA is. I am a Number 2 Type B android. Just address me as 2B.” 2B was always the type of person to not beat around the bush much at first. She only got friendly with those she knew she could trust, and that wasn’t easy to do, especially after she wound up in this new world.

2B turned to observe Snake, narrowing her covered eyes as she looked at the rifle, she had never seen something like it before. It might be something that fires projectiles, as she couldn’t find an effective way to use it in melee combat, it looks rather primitive. She looked back at Zach, then not focusing on one in particular, but looking at them both.
“What made you two come to these outskirts? They are not suitable for human living.” 2B pointed out the inhospitable nature of the land around them, hopefully neither of them weren’t here for 2B, but Zach’s search for a synthetic is probably about her… Great.

Snake chewed on his inner cheek as he mulled over what to say next. Had this been just the two of them, he would have attempted to explain his objective in the hopes that the woman would come willingly. He was entirely blindsided that another soldier was looking to recruit her as well. It was clear that the man wasn't from the CRF, further reinforced by his mention of SHINRA- an organization he didn't recognize. Soldier First Class? Was that some kind of ranking nomenclature? At once his attention was brought back to the android who introduced herself as '2B.' She was fine, but he could tell she was hesitant about the situation. His singular blue eye had been trained on 2B; taking in the construction of the swords that seemed to be floating a few inches from her back. Turning his head over to glance at Zack, he awkwardly moved his hand to the back of his neck as he addressed the man's question. "I'm with the Convergence Resistance Front." Snake continued, dropping his hands to his sides and moving back a couple paces to place himself within both their fields of view. "The CRF tasked me with finding her, bringing her back to Headquarters." He gestured his hand over toward 2B, looking back to Zack. "I don't mean to send you on your way empty-handed, but I have my orders."

Zack listened to both the man and the android girl. " That explains alot." He heard the man say that he works for an organisation known as "Convergence Resistance Front" " Sorry Pal,that name dosen't ring a bell to me." Zack replied.
" I work for SOLDIER which is a military unit that works for the SHINRA corporation. They work on energy sources." Zack explained. " Yeah, deserts are not my kind of place...." he added.
Then the man said that he also ordered to bring back the android girl for his organisation. " Sorry, but I was tasked by SOLDIER to bring back the android girl...2B back to SHINRA Corp." Zack replied. " Look I reallllly don't want to get in a fight right now." He added. What did he get himself into?

“I believe the one who should have the most say here is me, as I am the one thing you both are looking for.” 2B knew that if the two were to keep this up, it would end up in battle, which she’d rather avoid right now. 2B then let out a small sigh, before speaking once more. “You, Zack, why does ‘SHINRA’ need me? What are their goals? And how do I play a part in it?” The android girl asked multiple questions, crossing her arms and slightly tilting her head to the left. 2B quickly swatted an insect that was near her ear, pestering her with its constant buzzing. She then took a couple steps back, making sure she is able to flee if Zach and the other man ended up fighting over her. She looked over to the other man with the odd weapon on his chest. ”The same question goes for you.” 2B said, momentarily looking away from the two to check her surroundings once more, the last thing she wants is more people that need her for whatever.

The android asked Zack what SHINRA needed her.
"Well....eh...I...Director Lazard didn't mention what SHINRA wanted. He said that it was classified..." He added sheeply. " Though he did mention the scientific division...To tell you the truth...well...I don't trust Proffesor Hojo. He's a real nutcase. Even since we got sent in this world...SHINRA has been on a witch hunt for every outer worlder they see as a threat. I said too much..." He said. " I suppose the guys you work for have not so good intentions with the ..2...B..here?" Zack asked Snake. Little did he know that someone else was about to join the conversation.

It was just another mission for Kyojuro Rengoku . To the Demon Slayer and Flame hashira this new world was unknown to him, much like with the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps. Though they were in a new world, they were still needed to stop demons.

He was sent to investigate in this mysterious desert.
He could see his Kasugai crow flying toward him.

"Caw! North west! Find silver haired female dressed in black. She is surounded by two shady individuals!" The crow shouts.

Kyojuro followed the crows.

It took him an hour to track down the girl in question. Silver haired and dressed in black. She was indeed surounded by two individuals. Though none of the two looked like demons. They were both humsns. Well of coyrse they are not demons. If they were, they would have both burned as it was daylight. Both looked like they were part of the military . That did they want with the girl? It seemed that she didn't want to be involved.

He needed to do something. He approched the group. " I hope I am not interupting anything important!" Kyojuro started. Zack jumped in surprised as a msn with yellow and red hair joined them. He was dressed in some kind of millitary uniform with a white xape eith flame patterns.
"Who are you?!" Zack asked.
"My name is Kyojuro Rengoku, the flame hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. I was told this young woman over here was in trouble. "

Snake grit his teeth in frustration; steeling his jaw as he blew out a gravelly sigh at the nature of the situation. However, 2B was right. She deserved her autonomy, and it was entirely possible for her to simply walk away if she so chose. Even being an Android, Snake resonated with the irritation in her voice. Just how many other times had she been sought after, either in this world or her previous universe, for her abilities? He could relate- the swirling desert of Afghanistan, the arid wetlands of Central Africa- people from all over had sought him and his Diamond Dogs for their services on the daily. Now here he was, trying to recruit her to an organization that had done the same with him. His brow twitched as he bit back a grumble at himself. Not every mission needed a victory. Venom Snake let his hands idle by his sides, ensuring that he was as relaxed as his posture would allow before looking to address 2B as best he could.

"The Convergence Resistance Front was established some time before my arrival here. The organization's mission is dedicated to finding out what happened to us, and finding what brought us here to get out, get back to our respective worlds if we can. From what I was briefed, people were pulled from their respective universes and consolidated here. Some even swear they've seen artifacts, enemies, locations or objects from their worlds. Some even had entire corporations come over." Snake said, thumbing his hand over slightly to Zack as he glanced back to resume addressing 2B. "You're wanted by the CRF because of your dossier, and your abilities- what they're calling a 'multirole close combat operator', like myself. The staff right now are a mix of utility personnel and non-combat specialists- about only a hundred total, so the organization's just building up strength to be able to properly get a foothold on where they are and what's out there. Intel, medical, logistics, R&D- they've got their work cut of for them. The one thing they're in need of, however, is people like us. Your role is as involved as you want it to be. You can take on operations solo, assist me in mine, or help with logistics and resource procurement- including recruiting of other personnel. The CRF is fledgling right now, but it's something I believe is worth fighting for. Getting us all home." Snake paused. He thought about how Zack wasn't quite sure of his own organization's motives, and quickly capitalized on that. "-Which means if you're caught here under their surveillance, Hell's going to await you back home. Fraternizing with a potential enemy, especially if your corporation is so paranoid." He glanced toward 2B, then back to Zack. He felt like he was getting nowhere. "She's right. If anyone has the final say on the outcome, it's her. No point in arguing for allegiance."
So much for putting things in perspective.

Shadows danced overhead; black birds had found their next meal as crows circled around the trio. He could've sworn that there wasn't a single animal present when he flew in- though to be fair, the Blackhawk always did scare away local wildlife as it thundered through the air. Yet it became apparent that the carrion feeders didn't seem to tire in their loitering pattern, nor did they vocalize as often as they should. Something was amiss, and before he knew it, yet another individual entered the area: a twenty-something kid dressed in a.. white robe, wearing red sandals and having a color palate of clothing descendent of the sun itself- even sporting a flame-colored head of hair. The young man had followed the crows to the location- perhaps he was lost?

"My name is Kyojuro Rengoku, flame hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. I was told this young woman over here was in trouble."

Told?
She wasn't- this was becoming more than he could reasonably handle. He didn't come here to babysit. Snake shot a weary glance to 2B, blinking and looking over to the man as he turned to address him. "Just having a conversation is all. We're just about done." For a man of few words on most missions, he couldn't remember any other time he talked this much. Searching for words took time, no thanks to the pieces of metal jutting out of his head. Damn did a shower sound good right about now.

“Great, another mystery man coming for me.“ She said, an exasperated sigh escaping her mouth. She rolled her eyes, glad they were under her blindfold as she turned to address the new stranger. “And I’m not in any trouble.” 2B added, placing a hand on her hip, letting the other rest idly. 2B didn’t like talking a lot, but she didn’t hate it as much as Snake seemed to. 2B then turned to Zach, her floating blades hang nearby, yellow rings around each weapon. “Zach, you expect me to let you take me to a shady organization that has the answer to most of my questions classified, and you tell me the professor that was wanting me is crazy? I don't see any positives in any of that.” 2B was clearly leaning towards Snake’s argument, but still was a tad cautious. A good group with good intentions, but 2B was being paranoid, it all sounded too positive… something must be a red flag... 2B glanced at Snake, looking for anything that would raise reasonable suspicion. She looked away quickly after finding nothing.

Let’s see… a man from a group of other-worlders like her, a man from a secretive organization who knew little about his own group’s goals, and some man with an odd, fire-themed appearance. 2B thought for a moment, before a question popped up. “Say, you two, how did your groups even find out about my abilities? I haven’t done anything worth noting since I ended up here.“ at least, she didn’t think she did. 2B also looked up, noticing the birds before looking back down, making sure all 3 were in her point of view.

Snake shrugged as he glanced toward 2B. "I'd tell you if I could, but the CRF found me the same way. They knew who I was before my arrival here, and trying to question them on specifics didn't get me anywhere. My assignment in finding you proves the same thing, and I was only told where you were spotted, what you looked like, and where to look. The base has some sort of radar; I'm assuming people who get pulled in get picked up by the station.

Before Snake could continue, the dataterminal attached to his right waist pouch emitted a staccato electronic ring two times. On the third, the speaker cracked to life as a young Southern man was heard speaking over the background hum of an aircraft engine. "Ace to Ahab, come in Ahab. OPCOM is requesting a status update. Respond, over." Snake looked down to his iDroid, back up to 2B, then over to Zack and Kyojuro. Clearing his throat, he stepped back a pace and reached to unclasp the device before putting it up to his mouth and muttering into it. "I've made contact. Lock to coordinates and initiate holding pattern for landing. Advise caution plus two unknowns, over."

Another pause.

"Ace copies all, ETA three mikes. Out."

Snake looked back up and over toward 2B as he secured the iDroid to his battle belt, looking to her with a stoic resolution. "I've given you all I know, 2B. You'll just have to trust me on the rest."

"SOLDIER is kinda like that..." Zack replied. He turned his attention to 2B as she asked how SHINRA and SOLDIER learning about her. " They send drones and spies in the area. Ever since we ended up in this world...well, the Wutai nation and AVALANCHE are no longer the only things that are on SHINRA's black list." He explained.

" Organisation like these tent to fear those who oppose them." Kyojuro replied.
"As for SHINRA...even if my orders are to bring you in,it's better if you go with the other guy here instead. It seems like a better deal to be honest. Better that then end up as Hojo's latest test subject." Zack added. " I'll just tell them the CRF got to you before me."

" You are truly honest even if the organisation you work with are not!" Kyojuro said the Zack with a smile. " Yeah...there are some decent guys in SOLDIER. Director Lazard, Angeal and Cloud are alright. It's SHINRA that is a problem."

2B turned as she heard Snake’s ally ask for a status report, slightly raising an eyebrow as ‘Ace’ called Snake ‘Ahab’. 2B then shrugged, assuming it was a simple code name. It would make sense for it to be a code name, making sure information isn’t loosely let out was understandable. “The amount of people they have knowledge on before they even find themselves here is… odd... moving on, your friend is going to be taking me? What about those two?” 2B then used her head to gesture to Kyojuro and Zach, which she turned to when Zach spoke about how she should go with the CRF rather than SHINRA. ”That was unexpected. Even you know your Organization is untrustworthy when it comes to secrets and professors. Is SOLDIER part of SHINRA? Why not leave SHINRA entirely, if you know they aren’t as trustworthy as… The CRF, for example.” She asked, she would’ve used YoRHa as an example, but when thinking about it, 2B realized she didn’t know too much about them either. All she knew was that they are supposed to protect humanity by destroying all machine lifeforms on earth from the Great War… but this is not the same world that faced the war, this is a new world…

2B simply sighed, dismissing her thoughts about YoRHa. She turned to Kyojuro, intrigued by the mention of demons. “Demons? Like the ones from human religions?” She asked, maybe Muzan was another name for Satan, another popular demon. 2B never fought demons. “How does one even kill a demon? Are they difficult to kill?”

Demon.

Even hearing the word uttered from someone else had for a fleeting moment sent Snake back to Mother Base. Snake was standing on the Medical platform, having just stepped off the Blackhawk not too dissimilar to the one Ace piloted, with his arm wrapped around his injured friend Kazuhira Miller. The man had just been rescued from his Soviet captors, missing an arm and a leg as he leaned into Snake for support. Delirious, dehydrated, wounded in body and spirit.

"The world calls for wetwork, and we answer. No greater good. No just cause."

"Kaz.." Snake said. The man needed rest; he was in no state to launch into another one of his tirades. Kazuhira Miller turned to Snake, sweat glistening off his ashen pale face as his aviators darkened from the sun's blinding light. Snake felt the man's arm tighten around the broad length of his back. "Cipher sent us to Hell.. but we're going even deeper." Kaz growled.

"I know... I'm already a demon." Snake responded
. Something in his mind tugged at him; calling to question the nature of that statement. Maybe to Diamond Dogs, to Cipher, Skull Face, XOF, even that bastard Huey... but not here. Not here. Heaven had no place for people like him, either. He was condemned to Purgatory, and he was fine with it.

The man blinked, looking up toward 2B and answering her question. "The helicopter doesn't have a sling-load; it can't take the bike. They can either follow or go their own way. That's up to them." Snake said. Very faintly, the distinct heavy whirr of helicopter blades signaled the aircrafts' arrival as the elongated black vehicle became visible on the horizon.

Zack and Kyojuro also heard Snake communicating with his allies.
"Yeah...SOLDiER is the one of the two security division of SHINRA.It's the millitary division. The second are the Turks, which serve as SHINRA's enforcers and fo all the dirty work for them." Zack added. "I'm thinking of leaving SOLDIER. Before we were all sent to this world... I was on SOLDIER and SHINRA's enemy's list and became a test subject gor Hojo. I escaped. Before my former SOLDIER comrades could kill me, I ended up in this world, and the weirdest part,my former SOLDIER piers welcome me with open arms, not remembering that they tried to kill me. Director Lazard and my mentor,Angeal, were both back ftom the dead!" he explained.

Then 2B asked Kyojuro about the Demons hunted by the Corps. " They are both similar to both the Oni of Japanese mythology and vampires." Kyojuro started to explained." There are two ways to kill a demon. First: They are weak to sunlight.Second..." He unshelthed his katana." This is a Nichirin katana. This kind of weapon is effective against demons. Cutting thr demon's head with this kind of weapon is the other way to finish off a demon."

Snake told them about an imcoming helicopter."I don't mind leaving the bike here." Zack told Snake.

"This CRF organisation you are talking about..." Kyojuro asked Snake. " Master Ubuyashiki told us about it. He told us that shortly after we all ended up in this world, they approched him and said they wanted the Demon Slayer Corps to make an allience with them."

Sargeant John Captain - AKA "Tankman"

New York City

Just another day in the military base--wait, no. He hasn't been there in ages by now. It was more so another day in the busy city that had become his new patrol route.

Sargeant John Captain, better known as "Tankman" still struggled to adjust with this sudden change of worlds. He ought to be used to it by now - things had been this way for months. Years? Honestly, it'd been so long tht he'd lost track of time. Yet things still felt so new and foreign all the same. The absence of most of his unit, the enemy troops, most importantly his beloved friend, Steve. Even now as he leaned against one of the city building with his fingers on his pistol as a just in case, things felt so out of place.

It wasn't that he wasn't used to a busy city - the military base was rumored to be near one if one were to get past the warzone leading up to it. Before the war, he had even lived in such a busy city as this. But this city, he knew, was not his city. These people he spent each day protecting weren't all the people he knew. Yet, he felt as if things were how they were meant to be. A puzzle piece that clearly fits but feels as if does not complete the picture - in a way, this was his current situation. And it was one he's had to live with ever since those odd events. Events that still played in his head to this day.

1712381316950.png
He remembered it like yesterday. He and his unit were on an invasion mission to the enemy commander's base. They were finally going to end their god forsaken war once and for all. Tankman had finally had enough of Bolt's hijinks. Something had changed in the once carefree and lazy captain that day when the one he saw as an adoptive son dared to open fire on his men, killing half of his platoon and injuring Steve to a point that he was admitted to the hospital for a lengthy recovery from bullet wounds. Pico had betrayed the ones who raised him in the blink of an eye. Or rather, the blink of a demon's eye. Whatever. Didn't matter. What did matter was it had instantly been made clear to him how much the hitman didn't care for him in the end, didn't care for others who had seen him since he was in diapers. All that mattered to Pico was obviously blood, bodies, and kowtowing to a demon. Through seeing that, Tankman learned that he couldn't continue to blow off the war. Bolt had already been bold enough to kidnap Steve and had almost done serious harm had they been unable to rescue him. Another Pico incident was bound to happen if the enemy commander was allowed to go on. No more dumb three-hour truces to watch the Titanic movie. This was war and, in his own words, in war people die.

He figured he caught Bolt off guard. There hadn't been any attack moves from either side in some time now and Tankman had been sure the enemy commander had no clue they were panning an invasion. This was going to be it. He, Steve and their sniper, Ted had been the first three to start to mae landing on their parachutes and the unit opened fire, planning for victory to be served on a silver platter.
1712382276619.png

What a stupid, ignorant and costly move that was. He'd forgotten rule one of the warzone: don't count your chickens before they hatch.

It was a blur to him exactly how Bolt knew they were coming but he somehow knew and the enemy commander attacked them hard. The next things Tankman remembered was gunfire, blood and dust. He lost track of all of his friends in the brawl as his parachute had been shot before he could fully land. Between fire and winds, the captain of the Tankmen ended up separated from his unit, his communicator ending up broken in the brawl and thus having no way to get back into contact with them. That was the last he had seen of his unit. He was made a fool of thanks to his foolish and reckless calls. All he's ever been able to do since is just hope Steve and the others were out there somewhere alive and not murdered due to his own mistakes.

Navigating the desert was never easy. One often lost track of where and when they were in miles of sand and abandoned buildings. Luckily for him though, Tankman was able to find a few oasises on his way that kept him afloat. It was hard for him to tell if he was growing closer or further away from his unit considering all of his mean of communication were broken. After travelling that felt like it had no end, the lost captain ended up stumbling upon this place.
1712383351138.png

This place reminded him of a town he had been in before, Philly. Yet the scenery was different. The people were different. It felt so foreign yet familiar all the same. He'd tried making contact with the authorities here but nobody had even so much as heard anything from Tankman's unit. They were officially MIA without a trace and so far, he had been the only one to reach a safe city. He'd been granted the ability to patrol and help out the citizens here while efforts were made to find his unit and bring them back here. Although odds were certainly against them, Tankman kept that hope that one day he'd get a call saying everyone was located safe and sound but he had to admit, which each passing day, that flame grew weaker and weaker. They were dead. Killed by Bolt or the elements. Even though authorities kept saying they hadn't given up the search, Tankman was pretty sure that they had a long time ago.

That left him here in a new city with little purpose and even less direction.

Sighing to himself as he rounded a corner, he set his pistol down once he had determined that the coast was clear here.

"Ugh...."

It was all he could say to himself as he brought a hand to his head, processing that same story for about the sixteenth time over.

The door had been opened and the three survivors of Gensokyo's purge walked out of Okina's domain with the focus on finding Yukari and then Gensokyo. Once they've fully stepped out of the door, it closes and disappears from Okina's sight. On the other side, the girls would find themselves in awe of the beautiful sight of the city. They're on top of what is known as the Tokyo Tower. "Where are we? Is this the Outside World?" Marisa asked. "Well, this certainly is my first time being outside of Gensokyo. Though I'm quite surprised that you have forgotten your first time being on the Outside World, Marisa." Ran spoke up. "It was quite a long time ago honestly, not that I mind really." Marisa replied, reminiscing her time during the Urban Legend incident that had the Hakurei Shrine opened up a portal to the Outside World thanks to Sumirenko Usami's scheme.

"Same here. It was just another incident like usual." Reimu added "But enough talking. We got to find Yukari and then find out where Gensokyo is. And then after that, we go find out who this "greater being" that gave her first loss is." Ran had became slightly annoyed when Reimu mentioned her master's supposed loss. "Please don't mention that, Reimu. I refused to believe that Lady Yukari, one of the Yokai Sages, the ones who built Gensokyo, would lose to someone that is either of or above her caliber. It just doesn't make any sense at all." She said. "I refused to believe that also." Reimu replied "But that's just Okina's guess. If it turns out to be true, then Yukari, for all of her scheming, cunning and power, has definitely experienced the feeling of defeat in the first time in her life. If not, well- I don't know for sure."

"You really don't hold back your tongue, don't you Reimu?" Ran asked. "I'm just being genuinely honest. She's quite the annoyance really, stealing my food and all that." Reimu answered with a slight grin in her face. "Hey, uh, shouldn't we start looking for her?" Marisa asked "I know you and me like to put on some shade at Yukari, but we need to find her as quick as possible. Who knows what might have happened to her." Reimu and Ran nodded in agreement. Marisa hopped onto her broom and the three girls flew off the Tokyo Tower in the hopes of finding Yukari.

Luffy is starstruck by the buildings that reach the sky. He thought water seven was big and it can't hold a candle to this city. Looking and feeling confused, he tried asking for help only to be ignored. What’s more is those machines of various colors, shapes, and sizes. Whatever they are they seemed to function perhaps like magic, but at least people are getting around. Frowning, the obvious conclusion he thought of is that he’s no longer his world. After all, those moving machines don’t exist where he’s from. Sighing, he kept on looking there has to be a reason he’s brought here he aims to find out what the heck is going on. One minute he’s resting in the safety net of the thousand Sunny then woke up in a strange world. Just as he escaped the mirror world, after beating Katakuri with little chance to recover from that brutal fight. He could still feel the after effects of Katakuri’s devil fruit on his body, little tingling running up and down his arms and legs. At least Katakuri proved to be an honorable guy looking for a fair fight, he obliged. It’s safe to say it was a fun fight to be able to go toe to toe against someone of Katakuri’s caliber. Narrowing his eyes, he kept on walking realizing he’s completely lost without his crew mates, his good friends by his side. However, he trusted they’re capable of holding their own in his absence so there’s no need for worrying about them.

Shooting his head up, he noticed someone, a lone figure standing by himself. Luffy’s haki is finely attuned, trained for two years to hone his skills for the day he set foot in the new world wanting to be strong to avoid another tragedy like Marineford. The other looked to be in a hurry, or hiding from something, or someone. Whatever it may be, Luffy approached Tankman, the first thing he noticed is the pistol in the other’s hand, coming to the conclusion that something is going on with the guy. He didn’t seem to question why Tankman is armed, nor did Luffy care as he has pressing matters occupying his mind, and to be real his Gömü-Gomu No Mi had pulled him out of so many sticky situations before. “ You know what’s this city called ..?” He put his hands on his hips, lost and confused. His lips parted in a straight line, “ I went to rest in the thousand Sunny, next I’m here lost in this world...” He figured Tankman knows. Right, doubting the other would know what he's talking about. “ The thousand Sunny is the name of Franky’s maiden ship, he made it with his own hands, isn’t that neat? He made so many things, and upgrades to the ship.” Luffy says, wearing his signature toothy grin.

It was quiet. This otherworldly city was unknown to them. Well, cities with European medieval architecture could be found back in their world, though none of them even set foot in Europe back in their world.
The three Demon Slayer were strangers to this village, not only because they come from another world. They would still be considered foreigners. The three of them wore hooded cloaks. to not attract unwanted attention.

"Alright you two. There have been sighting of a demon in this area." Tengen Uzui,Sound hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps told his two younger subordinates. " We haven't even encountered a demon here and yet the villagers are not found of us!" Zenitsu Agatsuma whines. " I can tell from their sounds!"
" I know Zenitsu. I can smell fear and mistrust from them." Tanjiro Kamado told his friend."Even so,we'll make it through." He still carried a wooden box on his back. " Yeah and I hope Nezuko-Chan will be alright too!" Zenitsu replied, looking at the box.
"Speaking of which, Kamado,I don't think it's a good idea to have brought your demon sister here. We're in an unknown territory and the villagers might not be fond of demons, good or bad." Tengen told Tanjiro." In my opinion she would have been safer at the Butterfly mansion.
" Nezuko is the only familly I have left." Tanjiro said to Tengen. " I want to protect her. I joined the Corps so I could restore her humanity.
"Suits yourself." Tengen replied. "Anyway, since there is no wisteria houses in the area,we'll have to spend the night in a local inn." the Sound hashira added." And look's like we've just arrived!"

The three Demon slayers went inside the inn. Tengen told Tanjiro and Zenitsu to sit at a nearby table while he went to see the inn's owner to get a room for the night.
The two boys obayed and sat at the table. Tanjiro gentilly placed the box near his chair, between him and Zenitsu. "Don't worry Nezuko-Chan! Your brother is close and I'll be here to protect you too!" Zenitsu said as he pats the box and smiles. " Zenitsu, you are indeed braver then you think." Tanjiro says to his friend.
" Please,I'm not that strong. I told you already. " Zenitsu replied, sulking. " I just want Nezuko to be safe, much like you do! Just look at this place! Everyone here dosen't seem to trust us! It's congirmed by their sounds. I'm sure you can tell the same by their scents."
"You're right. I can smell it." Tanjiro, replied sadly.

"Hi." Tengen says to the inn's owner. " My subordinates and I just arrived in the city and would like to have a room or two for the night." He asked.

Sargeant John Captain - AKA "Tankman"

New York City

1712467223415.png
It was at that moment that the captain was brought out of his thoughts when someone approached him. Luffy was lucky that he was quick to speak for had he made a sneaky entrance it was likely that Tankman would have shot him in the head. Old war habits die hard it seemed. You could never be too careful. Besides, all of the losses he had endured spoke for themselves - who could blame him for having a case of the jitters? His pistol remained in his hand though the safety was kept on for the current moment as the newcomer immediately began to inquire and ramble. Honestly, the rambling reminded him a bit of the sniper of his unit, Ted. Despite being older than Tankman, Ted had a knack for rambling. Tankman never cared much about what the sniper had to say unless it involved an epic war story though. Most times he would just drink and pretend to listen when in reality anything that the sniper said was drowned out by alcohol. Heh. What he wouldn't give to hear Ted ramble again.

"This city? You're in...what was it? New York City?" he rattled off the name of the city.

It still felt foreign for him to say. This town still leaked the vibes of Philly, yet it was not. So similar yet so different. He doubted he would ever wrap his head around the meaning of that. He half listened to the other ramble about where he had come from and someone who was presumably a friend of his. Why was he rattling all this off to a stranger? Like Tankman really cared about it, right? Still, for the time being he remained cordial despite this rising urge to make a sarcastic comment midway through. When the other seemed to be done, Tankman moved his pistol downwards but kept it ready at his side.
1712468003164.png

"I dunno what kind of name a "thousand sunny" is but if you ask me, I'd say it's more fitting of horribly lame excuse to name a drink." the captain said bluntly. "Wouldn't a boat be named something cooler? If you ask me, this friend of yours had a bad taste in names. Even so, I've got no idea how you ended up here when there's supposed to not be any oceans nearby. But I guess as long as you aren't trouble, I don't have to put a bullet in you."

For once, he wasn't particularly in the mood for fighting even though he'd probably just said some insulting things about the newcomer's home and friends. Honestly, the captain was rather tired. Tired of this horrible brick wall he'd run into. No way forward, no way back to the way things were. He had heard from people around town of randomly ending up here after some random major event in time. Though this was the first instance of actually encountering someone in that predicament. It was kind of weird but this place was a hub for people of different backgrounds. Perhaps it was all it was. Eh. To be frank, Tankman was sick of pondering these things. It all lead him back to his same frustrating situation.

Shibuya; a familiar location for the pair of thieves that quietly found themselves tucked away in a small alley off the main street. Ren was in the lead with his back pressed against the brick building behind him as he kept himself lowered and slowly poked his head out to look both ways. Next to him, Ann leaned over top of him to poke her head out as well. Nothing seemed to be out of place, which was unusual. Ever since they had arrived in this Tokyo things had been strange even though they had been able to carry on their lives in an almost normal manner aside from their personas and thieves attire almost always being present with the exception of a few areas which seemed to have weak effects of the Metaverse.

Today had been a quiet day unlike most. Ren had woken in the confines of the attic of this world's Leblanc and went about his morning per usual. It hadn't taken him long to readjust to such living even though before arriving in this world he hadn't been to the cafe in several months. The only difference now was Ann was with him. To keep her safe, he made sure she was also taking shelter in the attic when they weren't out and about. The first few days had been awkward and he had slept on the futon for comforts sake, but as things remained unchanged and no sign of returning to their actual home showed itself, Ann had started growing anxious at night. The least he could do was offer comfort in those times, which he had.

Eventually their morning routine had brought them to Shibuya and to the very moment they found themselves in. Maybe today would bring the answers they sought, though given how things had gone thus fair, Joker had his doubts. If anything this would be another "patrol" of sorts. Such things had bothered the Phantom Thief, but he couldn't do anything about it. With possible dangers lurking in the city, they had to be careful how they proceeded.

As the pair continued their silent search of the area around them, Ann could sense Ren's apprehensiveness. It wasn't like him to show such nervous ticks yet here he was. Allowing a gentle smile to form on her lips, she leaned back until she was no longer over him and she grabbed his hand in hers before giving it a light squeeze. The action immediately caused him to duck back into the alley and turn his gaze towards her. Seeing her smile, he couldn't help but offer one in return.

"Relax Ren," she coaxed as she squeezed his hand a bit firmer, causing him to roll his eyes in response.

"You mean Joker," he stated plainly. His words caused her to huff out before she playfully punched his shoulder with her free hand.

"Don't give me that!"

A lighthearted chuckle slipped from between Ren's lips before he lifted her hand up to his lips and kissed the back of it. Ann's face lit up instantly and she squeaked out as she quickly pulled her hand back, only causing the smug look on his face to grow. To think she still got skittish over such things, though his charm always got the best of her and he knew it. It was why he did such things. His amusement in making her flustered only drove her to get even more so, though she tried to keep herself focused.

Allowing her a moment to recuperate herself, Joker stepped out from the alley, deciding not to linger much longer given no threats seemed to be present. Perhaps it was a bold move given they were in a public space, but he had little concerns for that. Hiding in an alley wouldn't get them answers and if anyone saw them... well he could only imagine the questions that would be raised. The last thing he needed was some stranger questioning why two teenagers were loitering around in a hidden alleyway alone. The thought alone was enough to make his face feel hot beneath his mask, though he did everything in his power to keep himself from blushing. It would open the door for Ann to tease him as well, though maybe she was too busy with her own blushy cheeks to notice.

"Panther, come on!" he called back over his shoulder as he took another step forward and shifted his gaze towards the screens that flashed with several advertisements and other miscellaneous things. It was odd that the news was on at least one of them, but then again, that seemed to be the norm in this place. It wasn't the bustling city he had come to know or at least not bustling in the same way he was used to. Pushing the thought to the back of his mind, he looked towards the train station on the opposite end of the plaza. "We should return to Yongen-Jaya before anything decides to come after us. I don't think we're finding anything out of the ordinary today."

Ann sighed at his words, knowing he was right. Trotting out of the alleyway, she trailed behind the other Phantom Thief as they made their way to the train station in hopes of returning back to the safety of Leblanc.

((Hey guys! Forgot if I already told you two, but I wont be posting on Fridays and Saturdays, sorry for the inconvenience!))

“Similar to Oni and Vampires…” 2B repeated, trying to search her mind for information of the two. The two creatures this man compared the demons to were probably from before Human’s fled to The Moon, before the Great War… “I think I remember the Operators back at YoRHa Base talk about them. Interesting…” 2B spoke, rubbing her chin as she thought, before quickly snapping back to the real world. 2B looked to the horizon, squinting to see the helicopter coming towards the four.

”Ah.” 2B replied to the sight of the helicopter, a slight nod coming from her. 2B then turned back to Kyojuro when he explained how Demons are slain. “Nichirin? Why that? Is there a chemical in the blades that react with the demon’s blood or something?” 2B asked, tilting her head. Maybe it was how ‘Vampires’ were weak against wooden stakes to the heart. Then again, almost every living being would be weak to something being stabbed in the heart. 2B then grabbed her own blade to study it, wondering if there was a slim possibility of her katana being made of the same mystery-metal.

Before long, the helicopter got closer and closer, 2B then glanced at it, before looking back. With the speed the heli was at, it would take about 4.5 minutes to make it here and land. 4.45 if it doesn’t land and just use a ladder or rope. Is that how it works? 2B never actually knew, she only saw Pre-War documentaries called... what was it? Oh, right, ‘John Wick’. It always made 2B wonder why the humans never fought back against the machines and aliens if they all had the skills shown in the documentary. 2B was just used to the YoRHa flight unit’s controls, not helicopter’s mechanics.
