Cor resisted the urge to internally scream when Hirune came by and butted in to their conversation. Now, he didn't hate his long time friend of Hirune for this, but Cor was finally talking to people on even ground, and would hopefully do so after revealing who he was to these two newcomers. He turned to Hirune and grabbed his shoulders as he ducked them down away from the other two. "Now about that Hiru, you see... Sena Vera was a fake name..." he said as he fished out his wallet. Opening it, he showed Hiru the blue level security card and his idea, his real one, anyway. "I really am Corossa DeSangre. I lied well, because, I'll explain. To everyone."

Turning back to everyone else in the conversation, Cor had to resist the urge again to sigh internally. Reno, was undoubtedly denying his claim as Revolver Tiger. That was something to look into, why a man with such a reputation would deny his past. It was perplexing, but Cor had an inkling of an idea. Running away from the past to strive for a better future. Cor could respect that, but you needed to embrace your pass to move forward. Then again, his reaction to Rina was rather, animated? Comical? Something along those lines described the interaction. Anyway, Cor then turned back to Hiru, and pulled him into a one arm hug, before releasing the lizard. "It's good to see you Hiru."

Continuing to walk Cor grabbed both Reno and Rina around the shoulders and continued walking forward, releasing them so they can walk on their own. "But anyway, if we don't get moving, we'll be late, and you don't want that?" he said, chuckling. "But anyway, to answer Hiru's question, I am indeed Corossa DeSangre. Sena Vera is... was... a dear friend of mine. She was... somebody I trusted with all my heart." Sighing to himself, Cor took another sip from his flask. "The reason I kept my name hidden was the fact that most people I met tried to use me, for power, for status, for wealth, or for a combination. But, yeah, I am Corossa DeSangre, member of the House of Guerrero. Sena was different; she trusted me for who I was, and who I am. She was the only reason I kept going, her and Laia. Only two people in the world have my trust, and one is no longer with us."

Looking across the gorup, Cor noticed a flying shape in the distance. It was a girl, flying... and she was wearing a skirt. Huh. He knew the academy would have some strange people, but an exhibitionist was a little strange. Yeah, after dropping that bombshell to Hiru, he'd never expect something like an exhibitionist to go flying across.

Ryuuse Wyvernore

Everything was happening so quickly and his solo trip with Ales started to grow as more and more people accompanied the popular halfie. Ryuu started to shake from all of the excitement building up, bursting by the time Ixni showed up. The horned beast from the tournament! Using the height advantage from Ales, the flubber started to reach out to grab at her horns wanting to get a feel for them himself. They leaned over some more just inches away from grabbing when a whoosh went over their head, Ryuu barely looking up in time to catch some delicate garments overhead.
"Ahhh, I saw something I should only see when married . . . " Ryuu groaned, their eyes following the gorgan's landing. "I'm not ready for marriage! Do I have to marry her now?" The flubber thought out loud, slapping their face to get the redness to fade away. Ryuu sulked only for a few more seconds before perking back up when they approached the tower. Feeling the tap from Ales, the flubber shimmied down and stepped ahead of the group . . . They didn't trust themselves to be behind anyone, especially with Ixni's tail looking really grabbable.
"Wow, Ixni the horned beast, and Deadeye Tai-hen-- of course you would know them Ales, you're so cool and popular! Making friends must be so easy." Ryuu sighed dreamily, already imaging friendship picnics and matching t-shirts . . . How soon was it to find out each other blood types? Ryuu could hardly wait.

Amaru

The hooded petite watched the giant in amusement as he looked around without noticing someone was trailing so close behind him. Height differences weren't that funny, but what was hilarious was the whoosh overhead and the giant's shift in gaze. Amaru didn't need to look up to know they were being flashed, and if anyone had the same nose as him they were also being exposed to some gorgan pheromones. Still, the aspect of the elite lady Tina herself flashing herself was hilarious and not even he could stop himself from chuckling at her misfortune.
Shaking his head a little, he pushed against the giant as he walked past to get his attention before waving his fingers to sign to him.
"You probably had the best view out of everyone here . . . First impressions, am I right?" Even though he was sure the giant could barely read his hands from let alone understand them, they still added a "Never mind, don't worry about it." Before shrugging them off and walking ahead to the tower.
There was a mix of annoyance and delight with having to silently communicate; on one hand, no one knew what you were saying so you could say whatever you wanted . . . on the other hand, no one knew what you were saying so you didn't always get the satisfaction of pissing people off when you wanted to. Then again if he actually wanted to be heard, there was always the notebook and pen in his side pouch.

Éliphas
He felt something tugging at his color. A familiar sensation coiled over the nape of his neck. Éliphas sighed melodramatically and came up short. "What is it?" He asked of his invisible passenger, expecting something to the effect of, I sssssaw a pretty bird over there, not an old friend of yours draws near.

Curiosity piqued, Éliphas craned his neck to follow the spirits' gaze just far enough to catch a glimpse of a man. A man he was, though at first utterly unrecognizable, Éliphas mind harkened back to a warm day in Autumn, and a boy some years his junior sitting under a tree in the courtyard, laughing and speaking to him about something he couldn't remember. The memories came back like a flood, and welled up inside of him until he could scarcely contain them all.

Hurrying, but not enough to cause a commotion, Éliphas shouldered his way back through the crowd until they came face-to-face, like the two school boys they'd been all those long years ago.

"Emeric? Je n’en crois pas mes yeux !"

Before he heard the answer, Éliphas found himself embracing his fellow countrymen. He was... surprised. So much had changed since then. And yet, after all this time, Emeric was still Emeric.

"It is good to see you, old friend." Éliphas whispered and pulled away. The invisible entity that was with him purred with delight.

Upon entering the tower two things would become clear. The first was it was pitch black dark, save for the light that came from the entrance which also served as the only exit. Those who had abilities that allowed them senses to overcome this would be the first to notice the second fact of Central Tower.

There was no one there but them.

Less than a few seconds the first person stepped in to the Tower, the walls began to glow. The spaces between the blocks that made up the tower's walls took on a strange green hue that pulsed, as if the Tower itself were alive. And then quite suddenly a single loud ding echoed throughout the Docking region. The ground shook, trembled, vibrated, and the very same gates that had allowed them access now closed off their only entry and exit. The gates moved with alarming speed, ushering those remaining to hurry along inside and within just a few seconds these very same gates closed. Blocking off entry or exit and sealing all those that made it inside.

A second later, the whole Tower was plunged in darkness as the pulsing green light vanished. For a full minute nothing happened, then there was a popping sound followed by an explosion of light. That blinding flash banished the darkness and brought in light from the tower, illuminating the interior and dispelling the darkness that had existed within. Floating orbs of light flickered on from a now very different looking interior. The cold cobblestone floor, caked with dust and dirt had shifted to clean and pleasant vinyl, the walls were no longer bleak and dim but glowed a pleasant blue having replaced the sickly green. A stage now appeared at the very end of the tower, facing the Attendees. More spheres of glass floated off the stage and hovered in the air. Each sphere flicked on further bringing light into the area.

There were three stages. One in the center two on either side. All located on the other end of the Tower facing the new Attendees.

On the smaller stages men and women of various species and races consisting of the six species of the world stood at attention. Each wore uniforms of baby blue and white; the colors of Nevma. Each one of them had a single star ornament on their chests. They stood in rows and columns, in a single file line and stood at attention in rigid postures. Firm, blank and neutral expressions rested on their faces, some held a single scar, others looked perfectly fine. They stared straight forward and looked at every new rookie that had just jumped on board this crazy train that would be their new lives. If one looked closely they'd see resting on one arm of each One Star Shikari there were silver cases holding unknown treasures. On the actual stage itself was one grey haired, pony tailed man who wore a coat over his white top and unlike his colleagues behind him, he wore no stars.

This no Starred man said one word: "Welcome!"

And immediately, in synchronized movement- the men and women in blue and white raised their left hands up, and the white gloves of that hand glowed. When it glowed, so did the ground each Attendee stood on.

"Welcome- rooks of the latest generation", the man began with his arms moving to his back. "You may call me Akhil. I am this island's Master and this Academy's Headmaster. And", he paused for effect, "I am your Boss. Just as my colleagues behind me will be your supervisors slash coaches in this stage of your lives you will respect and obey the laws and authority of this land as you progress forward...or you will be exiled." The man let his eyes scan through the crowd for a second of silence, then he continued.

"Here in Invictus we have one rule!" He stated sharply. Raising one hand up, he signalled.

The ground immediately shifted as each gloved Shikari moved their hand and as they did, a glowing tile forcebly moved every student around to be organized into the respective groups of their home nation. "Obey the rules!" Akhil shouted as people were shifted and lined up in an orderly manner. Creating rows and columns that matched the lines of the Shikari One Stars and their allotment.

"You break any of the rules I am about to tell you and we will strip you of everything you have and then send you on a boat back home. Your government and all branches tied to it will be notified of why you were discharged and what happens from then on is you and your nation's concern. Neither I, my staff, or these people will tolerate insolence." Akhil stated firmly as he gestured lightly to each mentioned. "Here, we do not care about the social status you held, we do not care who you think you are and what rights or privileges you think that entitles you to. Whether your parents have vast wealth or not, or your ancestors were hunted or were hunters, means nothing to us. Whether you are the son or daughter or offspring of a god, spirit or demigod, or you are here for personal goals is up to you but you will obey the rules of this island that has so graciously taken you in. And you will not disgrace all the effort taken into bringing you here! You have one and only ONE chance. Screw up, you are out forever. And so I give you one warning: Do not abuse the trust given to you or your punishments will be dire."

Snapping his fingers together the sound echoed off the walls and with practiced movement the One Stars marched forward towards each group. Each group of Shikari approached the now organized soon-to-be Slayer groups. Each Shikari division approached a specific group made of Attendees from each country. A One Star at the front would state loud and clear that the first row should step forward- and as soon as they did the Shikari opposite then would open the silver cases and present the row with their tools; a Badge and License. The Badge was silver in color but was not normal metal. It had a emblem of a comet on it, while the License held the essentials; a full name, the age of its holder, a picture, height, gender, and finally a serial code.

The process lasted ten minutes and when it was over the One Stars bowed a respectful bow of honor and good luck then marched back to their positions.

"There are many rules on this land but these three are the most important ones you must never break" Akhil stated clearly.

"Rule 1: As Slayers you are not allowed to kill, harm, or maim your fellow Slayers with harmful intent, either on or off a duty."

" Rule 2: You are to protect and minimize damage to civil life and obey and respect the rules of the countries you travel to. Failure to do this will result in penalizing. Just because we are given privileges does not mean you should abuse or underestimate them.

"Rule 3: You will be given freedom to enter restricted areas. This will continue to apply once you or if you become a Shikari. Do not abuse this, the Agency will not defend you if you violate any laws stated by a nation government or city's local government.

"That is all. SHIKARI!" He shouted.

"SLAY TO SEE ANOTHER DAY!" the one stars bellowed. They bowed one last time, then all the One Stars turned towards Akhil, saluted, turned towards an exit that had not been there before then, exited. When they had all left was when Akhil spoke again.

"This inauguration is over. My colleagues and comrades will escort you all to the mission center." Akhil stated as he turned to leave, his staff moving towards the crowd while he and one other staff member exited from an opening in the wall that had not been there before.

The Mission Postal Center had a four way sidewalk, one that lead from a ramp the crowd had to take from a entrance through the Tower and three other paths that went off to different parts of the Island. The mission board was a large foot thick glass screen board imbedded into the ground with sylicrum attatchments that kept it grounded. It towered over Giants, making them look like dwarves and it activated with a simple staff member's touch.

"Missions require you to form teams." One staff member explained. "We will not play a role in creating teams, you must decide for yourselves who you want to work with and organize yourselves accordingly. We will however be available to advise you should you need it. Teams do not have to be permanent, we would advise against that. Permanent teams do not work for the kind of missions you will find yourselves facing."

"Everyone has a role to play in deciding who they work with", another staff member stated, this one a female avian Sila. "And we would suggest you pick wisely. Don't work with people only you like. You'll get nowhere in Invictus doing that- missions displayed here will sometimes require you to work with different people. Don't forget this important fact."

"Ranks determine how far you can go in picking missions. Right now all of you are at the lowest rank, Comet. So Comet rank missions is as far as you will be capable of handling unless a staff member or the Headmaster overrides your restrictions under special circumstances." Another finalized.

"Now if you have any questions, ask now. You all must pick and complete one mission for today's quota. Once you have forned your teams you will be allowed to enter the Inventory to acquire any of the gear, weapons, items and materials you requested prior to coming. If you would like to know anything about who you could possibly work with once you've decided on a mission and are looking for team members approach us and we will offer you what we know. Now...you may begin."

Ales
Central Tower

Mission Center

Much had been learned and even more had been observed. Nevma held up to its reputation, at least according to the twins. It was not a place of second chances but a place that was your one and only chance at a good shot at life.

If anyone had stood out during the ceremony, it had been Akhil. Akhil Coiver, Head Leader of the Shikari Agency. Ales made a mental note to remember the few things Sleet and Spice had told him about the man and what he had seen today for himself.

With his badge easily sticking to his belt like it was made to stick to any surface, and his license sliding away into a pocket, Ales made his way out as the groups were herded towards a exit separate from the one they'd all entered. He moved with the wave of Dukrieans, following after the Shikari staff that led them out onto a pathway that took them up a ramp and out of the tower and as they walked he saw a distant shape- a figure he soon learned was the Mission Board.

Upon reaching the center and listening to all that had to be said Ales had himself a look around. So many people and so many faces but the face that caught his attention was her. Spotting Tai Hen he made his way through the crowd, with swift steps and surprisingly easy manuevering for someone his size, once he was at her side all it took was a gentle tap on her shoulder to get her to acknowledge his presence before he leaned in and whispered "My apologies for what happened earlier." He said in a whisper of gentle tones. He spoke quietly, so quiet that even at a whisper you couldn't hear it unless you had heightened hearing that you could attune to pick up sounds the average person couldn't hear at all. "I hope you know it was not my intent to make you feel uncomfortable Tai Hen. And if not, again I apologize. My play may have gotten a bit out of...hand, earlier and for slighting you, I wanted to offer this. A gift really. I had intended on giving it to you and the others we came with before you all left and we went our own ways, but I think my actions deserve recompense. Here", reaching into his satchel and pulling out a red and white tinted flower Ales offered the gift to the Elf. "I simply wanted to clear the air between us, my Freund." The flower itself had a sweet yet nose tickling scent to it that would adjust in time and Ales wasted no time in gently slipping it into Tai Hen's hands.

"Think of it as a good luck charm. A charm that will work only for you. When you are in a bit of a pinch during your mission, it will give you the luck you need. Now if you'll excuse me, I believe from the eye I'm getting our mentors would prefer we spend our time wisely" he said with a smile as he patted the elf amicably on the shoulder. Rising to his feet and disappearing into the front of the crowd Ales headed to the mission board and began scanning through the missions offered.

He spent a good two minutes analyzing each one available, looking through the missions offered and then narrowing his choices down. Ultimately he reached a desicion and picked Inquiry 2489 A. Tapping the mission and selecting [ accept ], Ales watched the screen confirm his request and then after a glance around moved to talk to the Staff.

He would have to give his bag full of goodies to the others later.

Raising an eyebrow to the antics of the hooded figure in front of him, Ragnar had not understood a single thing that he had attempted to gesture with with his hands, the act only serving to confuse Ragnar. Needless to say, his knowledge of 'hand-signs' were non existent and the petite hooded figure that had since scampered off had only served to make themselves look a bit silly in his eyes.

Stepping into the tower, its interior now illuminated by a pulsating green aura radiating from within the spaces of each block. Like the beating of a heart, the light pulsated at a steady interval, not once increasing as the rest of their now enclosed space began to shift in outlandish fashion. Like a soft earthquake, the ground danced to the rhytmic vibrations, its shaking strong enough to even unsettle the giant, who had now placed a hand upon the wall to steady himself; others holding onto one another or simply managing to force themselves to stay balanced. What happened next however was an assault to their senses, the minute long pitch black darkness that had aroused a few gasp's and even a shriek followed by the sudden blinding flash that metaphorically raped the sense of sight in those that had been unfortunate enough to be staring at the wrong place at the wrong time. If memory served Ragnar right, only one individual he had seen should have remained unfazed, the 'hot-guy' with shades that had earlier attracted the attention of several female companions.

Still reeling form the assault to the sense, Ragnar took a neutral leaned back position against the wall; his position at the back of the Agentian crowd. The man overwatching the group gathered had a presence like no other; Akhil Coiver as it was soon to be revealed was the head master of Nevma Academy, the man who stood at the Pinnacle of this Shikari Agency and had now taken it upon himself to inaugurate the newest batch of meat to the grinder.

....

Punching his right fist into the palm of his left, a large grin had spread across the giants face as he remained towards the back of the gathered crowd. Day 1 and already they were being sent out on missions, the anticipation to get started could not have been any higher than it presently was for him; his eagerness and ever rising adrenaline shared by several of the others in here. Like a newborn baby fawn, these newly inaugurated slayers of Nevma were being thrown into the wild, forced to learn how to stand on their own two feet without so much as an explanation or time to settle towards the more mundane aspects of their role. Heck, they hadn't even been given ample time to get to know one another, to understand each others strengths and weaknesses yet despite that they were expected to team up and work together. A trial by fire, thats what this appeared to be. If there was a time to change your mind, to step out of the kitchen due to your inability to handle the heat; the pressure, that time had long sinced past. At least for Ragnar it had, the giant ensuring that he had steeled his own heart prior to even stepping foot upon the ferry. To turn back now would be to turn back on the time he spent devoted to reaching his current station in life, a betrayal of himself. He would not hesitate.

Ragnar stared forward towards the screen, overlooking the other Agentians that stood ahead of him as he glanced at its contents, ever changing as the staff members that remained continued to explain the circumstances and prerequisites for the missions; the explanation regarding their ranks being rather self explanatory; unless you were one of those that overestimated yourselves. In Ragnar's case, he was not.

As the explanations came to an end, several of the other newly ranked Comet Slayers had begun to take advantage of the Staff members, each of them assaulting the supervisors with an assortment of questions to ease their own anxieties. Unsurprisingly, the common theme to said questions tended to revolve around the issue with teaming up, the absurdity behind having to team up with strangers of whom they knew nothing about. What a task it was, having to work with those you have only just met, unaware of each others strengths and weaknesses, habits and preferences. Could forming a solid capable team really be possible in such circumstances? Then again, they were here to be the elite of the elite, an obstacle such as this should be expected and should be trivial in the grander scheme of things. Though, it was to be expected that some would find issue with it. This scramble for information was for Ragnar a disappointing sight to behold. If there were those among this crowd that wanted to know about him, then they only needed to ask him, not scurry over to a 3rd party for their source of information. Of course, this was assuming that there were those here that wanted to know more about him. From what he understood, Giants were not as common in certain nations. Perhaps his size intimidated those individuals.

Throughout this moment where they had been left to their own decisions, Ragnar had instead chosen to read through the mission briefings; ignoring the rewards in favor of seeing which of the plethora of missions would best suit his skills. As it was, each nation had posted their own missions to Nevma, the variety behind the types of missions available just going to show how relied upon this academy was. Even as he read, he could hear others begin to murmur among themselves, these voices below him discussing the potential hazards involved. From what he had overheard, he could already surmirse parts of that persons personality, the idea of selecting a low risk low reward mission implying caution on that individuals part, whilst those that spoke of the 'high reward' seemed to ignore the 'high' risk involved.

Prioritizing the other nations first and saving Agenta for last, Ragnar made sure to read each brief carefully, his eyes scanning each word carefully as he did his best to remain unbiased towards his home nation. Though, it was only when he did reach Agenta's missions that his eyes widened in interest, Inquiry 1900A. Had stolen his full attention, his body tensing as he read the small brief over several times.

"1900A!" bellowed Ragnar, pointing towards the monitor several yards away from him; his size making it harder for him to push past those ahead of him. "As a Giant of the Scylding clan, I cannot turn a blind eye to this heathens actions. I will answer the heralds call and make haste to Agenta!" he continued, now beginning to step forward, his imposing size causing those ahead of him to quickly step away, now that he had gathered their attention. Each step closer to the monitor added emphasis to its towering height, the screen easily dwarfing the 9ft 7 giant.

Selecting the mission and hitting the accept button, the smile he earlier wore returned to his face as he watched his request get confirmed.

    Fellowship/Rabomen || Emeric’s CS File

The sight of the girl he’d bumped into flying off felt like it would set the tone of his time at the academy, a slow approaching train wreck. He swears it was an accident, really expecting him not to look as someone ascended to the sky was far odder. Though it was something that by all rights he should have averted his eyes from once he realized that the woman was wearing a skirt, genuine curiosity about her kept him from covering his eyes. In respect he did his avert his eyes from her rather plain underwear. Luckily he didn’t need to busy himself long before he felt the familiar trail of his longtime friend, Eliphas, getting closer.

“Oh! There you are, it was getting hard to navigate the crowds. Knowing where you were wasn’t much help when I was barely able to move-”

Before he could continue it seemed as if it was time for the inauguration to go into full swing. He turned looking more towards the stage as he saw men and woman decked out in the same formal uniform lined up. He wondered if they were only allowed that clothing. He hoped there were other styles for the varying weather.

All in all the speech the man gave was well not quite so moving. In fact it did nothing but confuse him. The only rule was to follow the rules? Who’s rules? We’re random strangers that passed to be obeyed as well? He was sure that the main three of the academy would be easy enough but unspoken rules were rather common in his experience. He would do his best to obey any rules that were spoken to him but if he accidentally broke one he was to be shipped off? It’s no wonder Lady Justine spoke so harshly on the academy. While The Oracle herself was perfectly fine with her people seeking out such a lifestyle he couldn’t picture anyone wanting it. And perhaps that’s why The Scriptor had sent them all off with a laugh.

In his mind he was already expecting to be sent back. Even now holding his very own badge handed to him by a woman so clearly amacensian by her features it felt like a giant wave was just waiting to drag him down. While he knew that getting kicked out of the Academy would probably not have any consequences back home he didn’t like the idea of it. He held no real attachment to the role or the badge but he followed Eliphas here and would be upset to have to part with him so soon after not seeing each other for quite awhile.

Dozens and dozens of missions lay across the board. Part of him looked across the ones from Amacensia, he felt returning so soon would be a waste but he’d already seen some of the others glance that way. Naturally Amacensians could manage but seeing a flashy dude who looked far to relaxed accepting one, well part of him wanted to rush over and join considering none of the other Amacensians seemed to want to venture into the deadlands. They had good reason to but he wondered if that meant that only higher ranked Amacensians would ever join in or if they just kept flinging newbies from other nations and hoping they lived.

“Eliphas, I don’t know if you had a location in mind already but I feel we should at least go warn that odd looking stranger what he just signed up for.”

|Tai Hen | Central Tower >> Mission Center |

Nevma Academy had gone above and beyond her expectations. The dramatic darkness, the spheres of light, the moving floors, and of course, the shikari themselves. Another person may have found it too dramatic, but not Tai. To her, almost everything since her first into the tower had been mystifying, and she gazed with starry eyes on everything but the old man. Comparatively speaking, she felt he was rather dull, but she dared not voice her thoughts.

Admittedly, she was nervous, and she couldn't help but caress the ring on her finger for comfort. Being told she had only one chance didn't help ease her in the slightest. Knowing she could be banished from the island for violating any of the rules, she carefully commited each word to memory.

In spite of her nervousness, she also felt excitement. The path to becoming a shikari was now open to her, and she would be taking her tentative first steps in realizing her goal. She didn't expect it to be easy, but she was satisfied at the chance alone. 'I made it, grandpa.' With that thought, she donned a confident smile as she stuck the badge to her chest.

With the inauguration over, she exited the tower with the others, heading toward the mission center. The glass screen towered over even the giants in the group, but she wasn't particularly impressed by this feature. She was already long used to being towered over by others.

Feeling a gentle tap on her shoulder, she turned around to see Aleś, becoming suddenly more aware of the badge on her chest. She half expected him to pick her up again, but was pleasantly surprised when he apologized instead. "Apology accepted, captain Lily." She said simply. She was glad he wasn't dense as she thought he was, and happily accepted his gift. Taking a few sniffs, she stuck the flower into her hair and began humming a chipper tune.

After perusing through the available missions, she eventually settled on Inquiry 2489A, as she felt it best suited her abilities. It was tempting accept a mission for Dukreus, her homeland, but her wanderlust and logical reasoning had won out in the end. Having seen the others tap the strange screen before her, she followed their example and accepted the mission.

Valentina could barely hear her friend’s words of comfort. In fact, she could barely register her surroundings at all. As far as she concerned, the world could just burn and die in hellfire for all her care. It was obvious that Tina’s mood was foul, to say the least. Although her face unchanging and she spoke in monotone, the little snakes on her head raised a ruckus on their own whim, died down then noisy again in bursts of emotion. Arrgh the world should just end. Then to her delight, it did. The ground shook like all hell breaks loose, throwing her around in its last act of defiance. In that moment of chaos, she slammed herself into someone soft, no idea who, but she apologized with the silly idea in her head that she should at least be polite in her last moments. As aforementioned, Tina was not in her best state of mind.

And then darkness. It’s over. Not silently though, people bewildered and chirping like a bunch of cornered rats. But darkness could not prevail, light came at last, in the form of light orbs on the wall. The stageman welcome them on his stage at the end of the tower. Oh welcome, how welcoming. No! This is harassment, humiliation! But to be frank, Tina was too tired emotionally to act upon her anger, so she graciously let it slide.

10 minutes of procedure later, and Tina was looking down to the badge and license in her hands while while the geezer on stage went on with his rules speak. So they had assigned her a role, a place they deem fit for her, a rank, a measurement of power, temporary as it may, a label. The only thing she would ever swallow her pride for (and would like to admit) was power. This too was a stepping stone for her to gain more strength, in the form of raw power and experience. Being labeled was too low a price to pay. She must get stronger, anything else is just icing on the big cake. Lest she stays weak forever, and the weak will inevitably suffer, just like… them.

Tina shook her head to clean it of gloomy thoughts. Focus.

The Mission Postal Center was a sight to behold for Tina. Such a big man-made structure was rare in Hushura, not to mention how high tech it was she couldn’t even begin to comprehend. “Suspected sighting of Shadinettes, defending the Borders of Veryuk, investigating a miasma…” She read through the missions available without any criteria in particular, the only requirement she had is a chance to fight the monster, and by the look of it, even the defend mission guarantees a fight. At last, one mission caught her eyes, not because of its challenging target, but for its tempting reward: A meteorite weapon made Gearworks for each participant of the mission – a powerful weapon that you couldn’t acquire easily with money. Plenty other Slayers may have no need for another weapon or one to replace their own, but power is Tina’s utmost concern, the choice was easy.

“1900A it is. Heh, that meteorite weapon is as good as mine”. She said to Novi. Although her words sounded more like a statement than a suggestion, she still glanced back to the elf for a moment to seek approval. And once she had received the green light, Tina beelined to the monitor, only to be blocked by an imposing figure.

“Oi! Out of the way” She pushed back the literal giant to reach the monitor. With great size one should have a great responsibility to exercise great situational awareness, she judged, silently this time. But before the monitor, she just… stood there. What was she supposed to do anyway? Punch the screen? After 5 seconds of hesitation, she asked out loud, to no one in particular “So, what am I supposed to do with… this.”

Amaru || Central Tower >> Mission Boards
amaru_cloakhbefdc.jpg
The spectacle that awaited them had caught Amaru by surprised, his fingers gripping at the helm of his hood as looked up in awe but also uncertainty. Even if this was a new sight for everyone else, he still felt extremely out of place without the comforting chill of the Hushurian forests at home. Even the speech was hard to follow, only retaining bits like the rules and all of the extra flavor whooshing over him. These were the feelings he would have to push through if he was ever going to get anywhere, and in time these new surroundings and new faces would become more familiar.

Amaru wasted no time on placing the badge over the clasp on his hood but spared a few seconds to look over his license with a mix of uneasiness and amusement before sliding it into his side pouch. After the attempt at sign language with the giant, he didn't expect to get any luck on anyone else here so he already got his notebook and pen in hand. Switching between flipping through his notebook and looking around as he walked to the mission boards, Amaru had fully expected missions to be given verbally to some assistant of the sort.

By the time he managed to get through to the actual mission boards he froze up. Magic boxes? He mouthed to himself as he hesitantly reached out toward the glowing square. As soon as his fingers pressed against the device the screen flashed with a new overlay which prompted a quiet yelp of surprise, the hooded figure jumping back defensively. Amaru stood there panting lightly at the oddity of the device, a tiny wolf of shadowy mist reaching out from his cloak poised and ready to attack the screen. Seconds ticked with nothing else changing with the device, the tiny wolf that had been summoned vanishing and Amaru slowly stepped forward to try again. This time he reached out with the tip of his pen at the screen, flicking it upwards which caused the text to scroll rapidly.

"Ah!" The pen clattered to the ground, his hand slamming onto the screen to make it stop moving once again. This also served to make the text grow larger but before Amaru can make another attack he was able to catch a few words relating to missions. Were these the devices she had spoken about? Looking around Amaru could see the others touching the screens with no issues (the exception being Lady Tina). One of the people nearby being a tiny female who navigated the device with such ease that Amaru found himself leaning over to watch her delicate fingers command it.

After taking a deep breath he tried to follow her example, to the T. He skimmed over the missions, still unsure about what he was doing but he eventually settled for 2984A. He has heard stories about that place, mostly in a bad light but what caught his interest the most was the possible monster they would face. They had plenty of monsters in Hushara so seeing one from another land and learning what it could do would serve him well. All he had to do was . . . What did he have to do? The little girl had finished selected so quickly and trying not to get to close had caused him to miss some of her actions with the device. Amaru slammed his hand onto the screen again, this time out of annoyance than fear of the strange device. This enlarged the screen for him, and he quickly realized his mistake once he couldn't find out where he was on the screen since he was zoomed in.

Stepping back, the hooded boy looked around to see if he could get anyone's attention to help him out. Since he had dropped his pen and he couldn't form words to call for anyone, Amaru cupped his hands together over his mouth to make a bird call noise and then pointing at the screen to try to signal that he didn't understand how to use it and he needed help.

The ceremony was ceremonious. As the daughter of an affluent family and a famous celebrity, Rina had naturally attended many ceremonies. Shop grand opening, a birthday, an inauguration, yet the ceremony of the Slayers still gave her a new experience. The headmaster's words were sharp and to the point. His speech was concise and no-nonsense.

Unlike the world of nobility where roundabout sentences with subtle meanings and numerous interpretation were appreciated, the Invicti Isle gave off an impression of tolerating no such style. For Rina, who was used to the complexities of everything, it was refreshing.

The speech touched her heart. She had gone from the comfort of Marvuelo for the sake of experiencing something new. And here, she got what she wanted. And she wanted to feel more. Rina closed her eyes. Closing her eyes, her vision turned dark.

It was well known to the world that Rina possessed an enhanced sense of hearing that was on par or beat the elves. What no one but her mother knew, however, was her ability to see sound. She sent her consciousness inside, and broke a seal at the centre of her body. From the outside, nothing changed. Rina kept her eyes closed.

But her vision was full of 'light'.

The voice of the headmaster filled the air like waves wetting sand at the beach. No one muttered a light among the rows, as if afraid of disrupting the wave from sweeping the hall. The steady breathing of trained individuals gave birth of small currents under the dominant wave. Rina no longer comprehended the speech completely as words. The speech was like paint on a brush, painting a background that required no objects. When the shout came, her vision was dyed orange, like sunset overwhelming the green of the ocean.

Rina opened her eyes and joined the chorus of answer, pride swelling in her chest.

Ales
Mission Center

Hearing a familiar cry, one pseudo giant and three Two Star Shikari that were engaged in conversation, paused then turned to look towards the direction of the sound that had interrupted their discussion. It was there he spotted familiar sights and multiple things that caught his attention.

There was Tai Hen who wasn't far from the hooded fellow who it appeared had made that cry for help. Then there was the brief blow of wind that informed of two sets of eyes possibly glancing in his general direction, not long after he'd picked his mission in fact. Ignoring this small detail for now his attention turned to the three not far from Tai Hen and the hooded me, the Gorgon and her silent female companion. Both looking hesitant where in contrast to the familiar and now loud male Agentan Giant seemed a bit less enthused and a bit more...confused. In that moment it occurred to Ales that these were Hushurans, and the differences in technological advancements between their nation vs the rest of the world was vast. So vast that they wouldn't fully understand how to operate the something like this, let alone fully understand what to do.

This, Ales realized, was a clever move. Not only did it force the sheltered Hushuran individual to reach out to those from more advanced nations that would have understanding in how to operate such devices, but it would also create a chance for possible bonds. Not guaranteed bonds but it was the possibility that counted at the very least. The perfect moment and excuse for socialization before the day began especially with socialization being a necessity for team formations.

But if that was the case- why make such a sound instead of asking the person next to you for help?

Saying nothing as he broke his momentary pause that lasted only but a second Ales turned his attention back to Miss Mistene, Sir Marlon, and Miss Eunice- the three Shikari he had become briefly familiar with originating from Agenta, Hushura, and Amacensia respectively. Instead of continuing their informative discussion on how international relationships and alliances benefited one country more or disadvantaged another, Ales turned his attention to Sir Marlon and asked a single question about Hushurans and how much most knew outside their homelands. Once given an answer Ales bowed politely excused himself and the semi giant made his exit to answer the call of not one but three who needed help in more ways than one.

Taking a route that allowed him to pass by the Gorgon on his way to the hooded male, Ales paused with a half step. His mirror shades making it impossible to tell where his eyes were looking but only know that he had just been passing by and simply stumbled upon the two Hushurans yet again. His head turned in the direction of the Gorgon and her ally. Staring at them from a distance before he swallowed a lump and approached them he said in gentle tones, "Excuse me, Miss?" he stated as he neared. Doing his best to politely interrupt and at the same time not seem condescending as he approached. "I do believe you simply need but" -he leaned forward and raised his hand, extended a tattoo marked finger- and said "press this" he stated gently as his finger hovered over the accept button. "Once you have done this, you will be set. And ah yes!" Ales exclaimed as he backed away to let the Gorgon and her masked ally do their thing, he dug into his satchel to pull out a rose. "A gift. For you. It is my way of seeing you off on the journey you have chosen. It is common courtesy where I am from to bequeath a gift to someone as either an apology from the heart or an act of good luck. And this", he gestured towards the red and white tinted flower in his hand "is my gift to you and your future company. May you have a safe return from Agenta." Ales said with a smile as he placed the flower in Valentina's hand, turned his head to look at Novian to show he was looking at her with the same smile present, and then rose to his full height as he heard the bird call again. Patting the male Giant on the side as a sign of luck Ales took off, as he went off to handle his next call.

He made it to the hooded lad in just a few seconds just as they were about to whistle again.

"Hello", Ales responded in his gentle light accent. The 'e' stressing when he offered his greeting , cutting the male off with his presence as he stepped into view. Although from appearance and clothing alone, female, seemed like a more fitting term of reference.

He pondered for a second as he stared down at the tiny human and chose wisely. "Having trouble Miss?" Ales asked, innocent of the mistake he had just made, despite knowing well the ground he was treading but walking it anyway. He walked past the hooded Hushuran female and then leaned forward slightly to see what seemed to be the problem. "Hmm" he hummed after inspecting the big bold zoomed on letters. "Miss" he said again, all while fixing and resetting the mess that had been made. "What mission might you be looking for?" he asked while zooming out and turning to look at the hooded figure.

He wondered if calling him 'Miss' would get the response he was looking for. Or if this fellow was simply the type who sought attention so used noise instead of words. Either way, the answer would come soon.

Saying nothing, Ales patiently awaited a response as he stood near the screen.

---

Corossa could only listen on in mute boredom and fascination, to what the headmaster was saying. It was kind of stupid, saying that the school only had one rule, and that was to obey the rules. Snorting and stifling a laugh, Cor could only lean onto on his legs, trying to get comfortable where he was standing. It didn't last long as the floor shifted and he soon saw everyone was arranged into groups based on country. Luckily, Hiru, Rina, and Reno were still near him, something he was glad for. He at least was put next to people he knew.

Accepting the badge and licence from the Shikari who approached him, Cor stashed both away in his jacket for safekeeping. Both were essential and extremely important to a Shikari's work. As the Shikari stepped back and the opening ceremony came to close, Cor did not participate in the yells of faith and loyalty to the slayer way. Instead, he yawned into his hand, and then simply pocketed his hands. The most important part was next; they would pick their first mission as official slayers. This would, however, be one of Cor's many missions to add to an already extensive list.

Listening to Rina's energy and excitement, Cor let a small smile slip as he pondered on it. On one hand, missions were done in groups of three to four slayers. On the other hand, Cor was used to working alone. Seeing the eager Rina, Cor decided to go with the flow. "Why not?" he replied. "It's been ages since I've worked in a team for missions. And besides, we're not technically friends yet. We just met. We'll be friends once the mission starts." Giving a sly smirk, Cor walked past Rina and looked at the mission board. There were a bunch of attack types, and support types too. Cor on the other hand saw something interesting, a recon mission in Marvuelo.

Perusing the mission data, Cor listened in to Rina's qin. It was interesting to become a slayer with a support type, but it was a valuable asset none the less. Cor decided it would be a good time to explain his. "I'm a close to mid range fighter. My qin is illusions/clones and teleportation. Just make sure not to breath in the smoke from the destroyed illusions." Walking back to the group he held out a piece of paper. "Take a look." he said, showing the sheet to Rina. "It's in home territory, and the clientele is the House of Viteri. Not only is the reward up for negotiation, recon missions while seemingly boring, are the most interesting. You never know when it can change into an attack or support mission. How about it?"

    Visions || Hirune’s CS File
They certainly knew how to put on a show, that Hirune could definitely appreciate. Granted he was seriously wondering why they felt the need, heck half the students in admittance looked like they were from backwater hick towns. Then again style does change from place to place but honestly too many were dressed so plainly it was not giving him a good image of the world outside his country’s borders.

In fact the idea that this headmaster thought he was their boss was what was the most entertaining to him. He had one authority and that was the government of Marvuelo, all else was merely setting up useful connections. He let out a scoff as the theatrics continued. A show was only as good as the respect or awe you could garner from the audience, standing next to a proper showman it was easy to tell the sham this man attempted to put up as order. He took a glance to Rina attempting to see her response to such actions but was distracted by their call for the row to step forwards.

The badge was a comet on a plan silver backing. It was well odd feeling, not a metal but… he wondered just how expensive mass production of these were. Then again it could be handmade. Even so he simply clipped it to one of his hanging belts alongside the other pins that were held there. It was just an insignia of the babiest of ranks it’s not like they even needed it, merely showing up should be enough.

As the supposed staff slipped out through the walls he went and turned back to the group that had been so rudely interrupted.

“So Sena, it’s Cor now? And Rini, and uh Catman. Okay this could work.”

He didn’t believe Sena, but of course it would all work out eventually. If he wanted to be called Corossa then he could be called Cor. He should probably ask for the fourths name again. He started listening half heartedly to the others. He recalled a bit about them already. Either way it meant Rini and Cor would pair well, so that meant he’d likely be more paired with cat man right?

“Well I’m an emuter. I can strengthen my muscles and skin or basically jellify them. So there’s really no where I can’t access with proper effort. So what about you Cat man. Sorry I forgot your name in all the chaos what was it again?”

"Fucking Finally!"

Wearing a dark black pin coat over a partially buttoned white shirt and adorned with red silken fabric which wrapped around most of his upper body, A dark haired individual had stepped forth from the Dukreasian vessel that had ferried the Slayers from Dukreus across the vast ocean to the island of Nevma. Given his obviously sunny disposition, it was evident that the journey had been anything but pleasent; put into a matter of a few words the 'smooth sailing' had been a long and arduous journey filled with people he had little care for. The journey had been a trial in itself, the act of keeping himself sane as he stared at the four walls of his cabin being the hardest of task's he had to endure thus far since deciding to actually pursue a career at Invictus. Whilst many of the individuals on board the ship had attempted to introduce themselves to one another, Kasper had instead made it a habit to keep himself as far away from the 'feel good vibe' that they were creating. The boy knowing full well that there was a high chance that come the end of the year, half of these sad saps would either be dead, or have pissed their pants so much thay they just up and left all together. There was little merit in getting to know the fodder, beyond being overly charitable with his bucket of fucks.

Standing at the base of the gangway, Kasper turned to face the imposing structure ahead of them, the large tower rising above and beyond the clouds. Whilst he had heard rumours of Central Tower's grandeurs, to see the spectacle in person was a whole other story, one in which no amount of words could fully describe. What the tower itself exuded was an aura of power, an all mighty authority that stood above all others whilst they; the specks of nothing scrambling towards the feet of the tower where just that: Nothing. It was truly a building worthy of the praise that was often gushed whenever people spoke of Nevma or Invictus academy. A 'wonder of the world' that had actually surpassed expectations.

A few moments of marveling at the towers glory, Kasper in this time had allowed others to push past him, though even the wonders that had been put onto display could only hold his attention for so long, before Kasper grew bored; his attentions turned towards seeing the interior, rather then the trivial works of art which currently aligned their road to the large gates beyond. Art was by no means a 'new thing' for Kasper, his time spent with the Venetti's as well as his duties at 'Adelphi Theatre' had broadened his horizons in the field of art, exposing him to masterpieces that often stunned their audiences; sealing their fat gobs shut. The 'show' put on now sorely paled in comparison, Kasper merely walking past those that had stopped to inspect and marvel at the statues and contraptions on display, none of which garnered his attention to the same effect as the tower had done so.

More interesting than the art was the sight of invidivuals beginning to clump with one another; those who knew each other from previous excursions to those that knew each other from childhood. There were even those that simply said Hi, for the sake of saying Hi; introducing themselves to complete strangers who happened to be on the same ferry that they had been on. You had the 'eye candy', male and female alike who seemed to attract a posse of followers just because their looks were appealing; a white haired boy wearing glasses in particular catching his eye as he literally had another clambering over his back; it just so happened that he too had been on the ferry from Dukreus. Then you had those that felt the need to display their abilities in front of all others, their reasons for doing so unimportant as they basically 'advertised' themselves to everyone else that had happened to take notice. 'Social sluts' as Kasper liked to call them, individuals who'd easily spread themselves for the attention of others. Unfortunately, Kasper despite his rather shambolic appearance had certain standards to uphold, and if push really did come to shove than his bag of tricks were hardly suited for parlour; unless of course he had a willing participant able to spare a donation.

As for the 'Advertiser' it seemed like his display had been rather fruitful, considering he was soon swarmed by what Kasper presumed were two male Sila and a human girl. Go figure.

Humans, Elves, Sila, Amyr and Dwarves, even the giant ahead was little more then an ant in comparison to the monolith before them. His estimated 9 ft frame casting those behind him in shadow, yet failing to even come close to the tower and its imposing doors which had now come to view. That being said, Kasper could do little to resist the temptation to look skyward again, the challenge of seeings its summit long since accepted. Attempt number two however was like the first, unsuccessful. His view this time blocked. The sight of frilly white panties eclipsing the lights above had decided to make this impossible task even harder. As if in slow motion, the levitating snake haired woman floated down from wherever she originated from, her loose fitting skirt fluttering against the gentle breeze that wafted through the air. Either pumped full of self esteem and uncaring of those who saw, or too much of a ditz to realize that she had just flashed the majority of the new recruits. A skirt whilst capable, was sorely lacking in its duty when it came to protecting from below, every detail in her undergarments fully exposed to the crowd below. Both a fuel and a curse for the perverted individuals who got off on that kind of thing. Even without having to actually look for it, Kasper could already tell that there were a few Slayers here already battling a fearsome adversary, their raging hormonal one eyed monster having pinched a tent down below. Whilst Kasper could feel the testosterone in the room rise from the other men around him, Kasper could only look upward in pure disappointment. The innocence in such a choice anticlimactic at best. Such sights were far more of a spectacle back in Dukreus, a city where the women had class.

"Pitiful". He whispered under his breath, returning his gaze forward and continuing on with the rest of the crowd, pushing past a few others who had seemingly been petrified in place at the 'show' that had just been given front row seats to. Really, if a pair of frilly white panties was all it took to get them to stop in their tracks; were they really worthy of being allowed into Invictus Academy?. Kasper could only sigh at the depressing thought, a brief flashback to the well dressed women of Optil City's higher class society flashing through his mind briefly, the thought of what he was giving up in order to come to the academy. As for Miss Frilly Whites, well Kasper wasn't going to dig too far into her exhibitionist ways. Who was he to judge? To each their own.

With the free show over, those earlier petrified had begun to move once more, the blood in their veins no longer restrained to a single part of their anatomy and returning to normal circulation. Without needing to look, Kasper was sure that a few of the boys had to wipe the drool from their mouths.

"Perverted Weaklings"

Momentarily reeling from the assault to the senses, Kasper had to blink several times as Akhil begun his speech, the awkwardness of the green glow followed by the sudden darkness and almost instantaneous flash right after had been like a punch to the face; an interrogation routine taken to the next level if anything. Like many others with probably the exception of the shaded guy Kasper strained his eyes forward to Akhil and his supervisors as they began and with full efforts put towards recovering his assaulted senses, Kasper had barely enough time to brace himself as the sudden sensation of moving overcame him, the tile in which he had stood upon racing past others as they too were ferried across the floor, the unwilling participants of today's roller coaster ride now forcibly aligned in what Kasper could only surmise was an organisation based upon their respective nations. This revelation strongly supported by the fact that the few faces he did recognises from his ferry were also shared the line he had been placed on.

It wasn't until the line he was in begun to move forward that Kasper noticed the supervisors ahead of them; the duo handing out the badges and licenses to the new recruits before ushering them back into their original positions in the line.

Kasper perhaps more than the majority here had been rather perturbed by the 'restrictions' imposed upon them via the rules; the inability to 'playfully' harm his fellow colleagues a big blow to his 'down time activities'. What better way was there to kill the time between missions? To push the boundaries and skip along the borderline of what was right and wrong. Threading the edge, the fine line between morality and immorality was part and parcel of what he enjoyed doing; to live within the grey area of societies rules and laws. It would be a hard ask to expect Kasper to strictly adhere to such overly tight restrictions on a 24/7 basis.

As Akhil departed and the remaining supervisors escorted them to the oversized mission board, its size much like the tower imposing its presence in the room. Once more, rules were broadcasted to the awaiting slayers; Invictus academy sparing little time for the frivolous acts of intermingling. It was missions straight from the get go; the large board cycling through several available missions in which groups of slayers would have to work with one another.

For Kasper's part, the decision with who to team up with was an easy one. He didn't care nor was he bothered with which person was lucky enough to join him on his mission. He didn't have the hindrance of having to 'not pick' people he liked, since he didn't much like anyone here in the first place. As groups began to form and filled missions quickly began to disappear from the board, Kasper had begun to make his way towards the board, pushing past those ahead of him without so much as an 'excuse me'.

'Mission: Dukreus: 0918 R' selected. Kasper didn't even look to see who had already selected the mission.

Frowned. Tina turned to her masked companion, hopeless, the magic screen’s nature eluded them still. She poked her head around in an attempt to copy others in vain. She was hoping her question would catch the kindness of a considerate person nearby, there was, in fact, none. Everyone was minding their own business like her problem was not their own, their fingers danced away on the touch screen an unfortunate way for a poor Tina who failed to catch even the smallest gestures. She blamed her tired mind, the authority’s failure to instruct her how to operate their foreign magic device, she also blamed the world and its unending thirst for exotic solutions in search of new problems. As per usual, she blamed the way the world was out to get her.

Painful seconds had passed, yet not a single miracle had sparked. Her fortes didn’t include brainy stuff, as she was more the do-er type, so screw it, she brought her hand onto the screen. Come what may, she thought, I’ll mess around randomly and see how it goes, it’s not like they would place an explosive device for clueless slayers like her to mess with like this anyway.
A voice startled her, prompted the Gorgon and the many eyes on her head to turn to the direction of a tall man. Was he not the man whose obscene behavior played a role in the unfortunate chain of events on the dock? Yes, precisely. She raged. The man better be ready to suffer her tantrum.

The guy and his helpfulness left Tina no chance to satisfy her childish anger. Clear and simple, he showed her how to operate the magical screen, in doing so, Tina felt no indication that she was patronized. And she was sure all they, the kind she thought he was, would take every chance to humiliate a person of her stature. Back in her home sector, at worst, an act of kindness would be considered a trap, at best you just ignore it.

But if he was genuine, Tina thought as she received the red white flower from the annoying stranger. If he was genuine, would he treat me the same knowing who I am? The heart of an inferior being before his superior holds only jealousy and betrayal. On the contrary, contempt is the only gift to one’s inferiors. Kindness, if exists, would exist only for the sake of desire for repayment.

If he was genuine, her thought went on as her eyes shifted away from the man, folding her arms with the flower still in her hand, the white snakes hissed weakly while stammering around on her head. If he was genuine, a person with genuine kindness would feel superior to someone who can’t understand it. She knew well, since she herself felt the same way toward people like him.

“I accept your apologies and offering.” She said, without looking at him. He did say one of the meanings of his gift was to apologize, didn’t he? Only after his back was away in the crowd did she remember that none of them had introduced themselves to each other. “Ha! Lucky or not I will return, such a simple task could hardly prove a challenge for me.”

“Right?” She asked Novi’s emotionless mask, proud and all as if she had solved the magic monitor herself. “I would have figured it out by myself eventually. How presumptuous could he be!?”

Picking a mission was an easy task for Ryuu in contrast to the trouble the Hushurians were having. The only problem they had was picking it alone since Ales seemed to be caught up in other things and the other two that walked them had already dispersed. Being alone sucked, Ryuu kept thinking to themselves as they pulled away from the screen pouting. Why does Ales get to be so popular? I wish I was like Ales . . . Should I go say hi to him? Ryuu shook their head, lightly smacking their flubberly cheeks, No that's a terrible idea! That girl seems really into him, and if he barged in he might make her scared-- and if Ales can't get into a relationship, he can't get married and if he can't be married then I can't be their BestFlubber when they get married!!!
That would be no good Ryuu decided and with a huff, they marched onwards. Ales wasn't the only one who can make new friends!

Scouting the area high and low, Ryuu walked past the panty flashing Gorgan with their hooded companion since they didn't seem in the mood for friendship right now. There were a few giants that were much bigger than Ales who was only half and even a guy who seemed really in their own world while picking---
Ryuu nearly tripped over themselves as their eyes caught the glint of her. Everything seemed to slow, an imaginary wind blowing her shimmering blonde locks, her beaming smile drawing him in as her eyes seemingly went into his general direction. Could this be an angel? Have I died and gone to heaven? So cuteeeeee--

Then her eyes settled on the group she was talking to, and the glowing lights and imaginary wind vanished once Ryuu snapped out of their daze.

"Waahh," Ryuu slapped their hands onto their face, shaking the angel's glow out of his head, "no way I was totally just ogling her like a creep-- ahhh." Without thinking about how it would appear, the flubber dove behind a trashcan to take cover. "Snap out of it Ryuuse! You're being a total loser-- I gotta pull it together if I want to have all the friends!"

Ahhhhhhhh, I said that out loud didn't I? They mentally screamed, then glanced over at the group of Marveulons from behind the trashcan. She's so cute, I have to make her my bestest friend for sure! But look at the group-- I want to have a friend group! Ahh, what would Ales do? Ryuu pondered this thought, only imaging Ales scooping up Tai Hen and their charming remarks towards Ixni . . . That had to be the key!

Jumping out from behind the trashcan, Ryuu started to approach the group trying to mimic Ales's strunt (or what he imagined at least), awkwardly pushing his hair back trying to be slick about it with their chest pumped out.
"Hey," Their voice cracked in a poor attempt to sound like Ales only for their eyes to dart over at the Marvuelon's tail. "Huaahhhhhh," Ryuu's eyes widened, their Ales Impersonation completely dropping as they leaped at the Sila's(?) tail, hugging it with no regards of personal space.

"Your tail is so cool! I wish I had a tail like this-- can you move it? Ooo, it has scales-- are you a wizard? Can you swim with it? You're Marveulo right? Ahh, so cool you even have fins on you-- can you breathe underwater? How much weight can your tail lift? Can you lift it? Are you a real-life superhero?" Ryuu started to ramble, clinging to the stranger's tail like a child clinging to their teddy bear, completely forgetting about their little cherry blossom scene over the girl in the group.

He was hoping that he could hit it off well with the Sila in front of him considering his friends hit it off well already, or at least both were on board with teaming up and trying it out. As far as he was concerned anywhere other than Rosaoro was fair game and people he liked made the best company.

He didn’t really get the chance before he felt a weight attach itself to his tail. A flurry of questions started to pass as he turned to look for what was touching his tail. He didn’t even know where to start so rather than answer he lifted and brought the small boy up to eye level being sure to balance him on his tail.

“A wizard? Ooo that’d be fun but no. In fact if I had to say what I was the ‘adventurer’ sounds like it’d fit more. As for if I can swim and breathe underwater. Yup absolutely.” As if to prove it he flared his gills a bit without actual opening them. “And I dunno how much I can lift, generally a lot. Let see I could lift both you and Rinny probably.”

He let out a smirk as he wiggled his tail a bit, not enough to truly destabilize the boy but enough that it would be a short jolt. He was liking the attention especially since despite what most expect it’s no more different to him than his arm.

“And hero? Well that’s pretty boring in my opinion, I’d rather be the hero than the villain but neither is appealing.”

He took a glance at Cor before turning his tail to him trying to direct the boy clinging to his tail.

“Though I guess Sena here could be considered a hero. When we met he was off already getting rid of ‘villians’.”

RenoHe hadn't been paying much attention to the speech. It was always the same thing anyway. For the entire speech, all he had done was fidget uncomfortably and play with his own hair, to the point that he stumbled forwards when it was their turn to get their fancy little pins, nearly missing his turn. He sheepishly laughed his way out of that.

Man, what a drag. He shuffled his way out of the ceremony through the crowd with the other Marvuelans, pretty much lost in his thoughts, and only just barely paying enough attention to the instructions and rules and the chatter to understand the bare minimum. It was when Hirune spoke up to him and the others that he almost broke out of his reverie.

Huh,” was all he could manage at Hirune's question. He was pretty sure he mentioned his name twice now. From what he could see from the other Sila though, he didn't seem too alright upstairs. He had heard of strange and eccentric slayers, but this was taking it a bit too far, wasn’t it? “It’s Ren--” he started, but was immediately interrupted by another new arrival to the scene, who took the other Sila’s attention away from him entirely. How ironic, that he could keep the eyes of the crowd on him in the ring, but he could not keep the attention of just one person outside of it. He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, turning his attention back to the other two, trying his best to muster up a weak smile. “Maybe you could tell him that later, he seems preoccupied right now with the little dude on his tail. Anyway, since we’re discussin’ group composition,” Reno swelled his chest in an attempt to seem larger than he actually was (it didn't really do much), and placed his hands on his hips, as if to prepare his new team mates for the incoming ham.

I’m a close-ranged specialist, range just ain’t my thing, but I can close the gap pretty fast, and pummel the opposition to a pulp in a sec if someone covers me for just that one second. I’m an Ether, and I specialise in dodging and taking blows, and dishing them back with twice the power. In a one-to-one, mano-a-mano fight, I won’t lose, not against anyone, monster or otherwise. Whatever it is, I’ll be there for ya! You can count on it!” He flashed his blindingly bright smile, and perhaps it was merely a trick of the light, but it almost seemed as if there was an audible gleam as he did so.

He held his pose for just a second longer, then sheepishly slouched slightly, his hands dropping to his side, and he laughed. “‘Course, that would be what a face would say in the ring or something. I’m just the guy who really loves those guys, so uh,” he gave a nervous laugh, “pardon that introduction. I got too caught up in the character. Anyway, let’s take a look at those missions, huh?” He leaned in over Rina’s shoulder, peeking at the details.

Marvuelo. Cor called it ‘home territory’, but Reno thought it more as his origin rather than ‘home’. His ‘home’ was with his friends. He supposed that now, he was as homeless as ever, then. How cruelly hilarious. The smile that remained on his face could not hide the disappointment as he glanced over the sheet. Viteri, huh? Couldn't say he had heard of the name. That more or less cemented how much Marvuelo meant to him- nothing at all. “I’m cool with it. Even if it does turn out to be basic reconnaissance with no action, I could use the catnap.” He gave a low chuckle at his own pun. “How about you, Angel, Rune?” he directed the question to Rina and Hirune, though he wondered if the latter had enough of an attention span to offer a guy like him.

Ales
Mission Center

One thin whitish brow raised during the pause and Ales stared in patient silence back at the hooded Hushuran. Never once letting his calm smile disappear but simply making it slightly falter as he waited patiently.

If he were a regular person Ales would have considered what he had said as a mistake. But the pause. The lack of response. These easily noticeable things could have been mistaken for anything else; a sign of offense, being caught off guard even or perhaps the Hushuran taking a moment to take his odd size and height into view given Giants or the distant breeds of their offspring (as far as he knew) did not exist in the confines of Hushura. Had he not heard those whispered words from somewhere on the hooded figure's body Ales might have assumed that perhaps this male identified as female...but hearing those words erased those thoughts completely.

The grin did nothing to help the hooded one's case.

Despite it, Ales made it clear to the hooded one he did glance 'her' way once when that pen was being picked up before politely averting his gaze to the screen. It had been awhile since he'd been given an intentional show but this role wasn't one to stare for long- and so he wouldn't be doing that here.

Using his senses Ales focused on the source of that voice and that's when he felt it. A flower. Similar yet different to the one's they'd seen on the bridge. If his senses were correct he could detect the hooded one's signature tied somewhere within this flower which meant that it was absorbing his Qin...or fed off it.

Filing that thought away, Ales turned his attentiom back to the hooded one and smiled a sheepish yet warm smile. This whole act was already coming undone and the psuedo giant had to ask, why?

Why pretend to be female? Why put on a show? What did it mean when it said a 'a sheep that shows off its wool may not be a sheep at all'? And 'always going for the strong ones'? Most importantly, why not speak? Was it a language barrier? No, the notepad wouldn't make sense. So what then? All the hints, all the signs pointed towards deception, manipulation and the actions the Hushuran was displaying pointed towards a false image. Not even a full day in and Ales found someone was already trying to gain leverage here but doing it in a more tactful fashion than the way Miss Valentina seemed to.

It seemed he was right to show interest in the Hushurans. If these three were any sign of anything- there was much to learn here from their this one's colleagues. He wondered what his other colleagues from both his and other nations might have to show in time as the hooded Hushuran scribbled away on their pad before presenting it to him and pulling him from his thoughts once more.

"Ah" were the first words to come out in a gasp.

He. 'She', was mute.

Looking up from the notepad to Amaru, Ales cleared his throat then smiled with a nod. "It iz a pleasure to meet you Miss Amaru, or Miss Ama if I may?" with swift movement Amaru's hand was snatched gently and given a gentle kiss on the back of the hand. An old greeting belonging to the old and outdated ways of Dukreian formal greetings but one that would have to do here. After all, if he was going to fall into someone's trap intentionally. He might as well have one hell of a surprise waiting for his assailant when they came to see the results.

"2984 it shall be." Ales said rising and hitting the accept button. "It appears we will be teammates Miss Amaru." He said, both speaking with mouth and now his hands. "I look forward to working with you in the near future, Madame."

If something had not caught his eye in the corner of his vision perhaps he might have said more. He recognized that mug anywhere. Kasper.

"Excuse me a moment. I will return shortly some old friend I must get in touch with has just passed by" the semi-giant apologised. "Here though, Tai Hen is another teammate of ours and I fancy her. You two should get along well" he said pointing to the elf not far away and then gently pushed Amaru towards her direction. Moving swiftly Ales began backing away. Once again offering an apology this time in signs for his hasty retreat.

Once he was far enough he shouted: "Hey Kasper! I have something for you!" and was off to meet his target.

Rina took the paper from Cor with her free hand. Viteri House... she had heard of the name, but there wasn't anything special regarding the Viteri she could remember. She wouldn't admit it, her social network was not as good as her brother's. Especially after Faris pursued Dyne persistently. The connections he made just to gift her something was quite frightening when she thought of it.

It wasn't long until Rina noticed she had gathered quite a few nicknames from her friends. Cor called her Rina as normal, Rune called her Rinny, then Reno called her Angel. Most likely as a reference to Angelic Diva, the nickname she had in her early years. Being called Angel was a bit embarrassing... not that she hated it. Not that it meant she would admit she likes it! Rina kept a straight face as she read through the mission assignment.

"I don't mind going for reconnaissance. We can also get lucky and have nothing happening after all! I think we have a good team here. Reno and Rune can be the vanguard, while Cor moves to cover any opening and I support anyone that needs it."

She did learn about combat tactic in Crystal Elysium. If she couldn't suggest something as simple as a group formation, she should just dedicate herself to her fans.

Speaking of fans, she forgot to return Reno's book after signing it. They were already separated before she remember to return it to Reno, so it was still with her. Rina put her violin case down and opened the latch. The scent of wood permeated the air as her violin, Asari, went into view. She didn't open the case for her violin, however. The case had a rectangular hole used to reserved music notes and she had stored Reno's book inside before the ceremony started. Rina retrieved the book and handed it to Reno.

"Here you go! I forgot to return it before the ceremony started. Sorry," said Rina with a grin that contain not even a shred of guilt.

Just outside of her focus, a child approached Rune and held his tail. Wait, child?

Éliphas
Without hesitation, Eli signed himself up for the Amacensia-based mission, as he had seen others do. Emeric was right to voice concern. Outsiders could not know what they were in for. Even he wasn't sure what they would face in that accursed land. Horror of horrors. Death itself. The thought left him cold, albeit resolute. This was his path. He would follow it, even into the yawning maw of the Amacensian Bad-Lands, which had greedily swallowed up many a would-be adventurer before. And may yet do so again.

"Emeric, will you see this through with me?" He knew what it was he was asking, but the sight of a familiar face this far away from home was a rare comfort, and Eli did not wish to part with his dear friend so soon.

Death... Whispered the serpent in his ear. Beware... the Ssstranger...

Éliphas' eyes narrowed in response. He trusted Emeric, but what of the rest of them? Surely some - if not most - of them were more than mere appearances suggest. He must remain vigilant. He is a stranger in a strange land. They all were.
Like you're chasing the truth, grip on tight to your youth.

"Something for me?" replied Kasper, turning to face the direction of where the voice had come from. A tribute perhaps? His expression as dull and uncaring as ever. Kasper had not expected to be called out here, he had not even for a moment thought that there would be a surviving individual on this island that knew who he was nor was there someone from his past that would have eagerly called out his name with such eagerness behind the voice. Additionally It had not been a voice that he immediately recognised, nor a voice that instilled anything beyond a feeling of inevitable disappointment. So to expect much from this 'stranger danger' that was approaching with a gift was not something that Kasper had done. For one thing, it had been the voice of a man that had called out for him, that already was enough to get him disappointed. He'd much prefer to have a sultry woman say his name, the slow lingering spice as his name would roll of her tongue. Alas, it was a man. A man claiming to have something for him, a gift or whatever that something was, was likely something that Kasper had no need for.

Instead, surmising in his head that it was likely someone he had wronged during the time at the celestial spear or during his employ under Primus, Kasper readied himself for the inevitable tirade of verbal abuse that the weak and often butt hurt would begin to spew the moment they believed they had any real power. Kasper as you could imagine was not the most 'readily accepted' individual during his tenure in both the Beta and Alpha program, the Qin user having very strong views towards what it meant to be a slayer; the realism and willingness to forsake the few in order to succeed in the mission was a belief that not very many shared with him and often ended in conflict with those that felt it necessary to dawdle in order to save '1 more'. Even after the program, he had done himself no favors.

Eyes falling upon the sight of the 6ft man heading in his direction, the instantaneous roll of the eyes was unpreventable. It was the man he had earlier noticed, the individual to which many females had quickly swarmed around; presumably looking for that extra appendage he had over them. The 'stud muffin' of the Dukreasian vessel, Kasper shook his head, unsure as to what this bachelor wanted from him.

....

"And you are?...." replied Kasper, as Ales approached. The dark haired boy folding his arms as he examined the obviously taller man standing before him. "Forget it. Don't answer, I'm not actually interested in knowing who you are.... beyond a misguided fool. Look, maybe the heat of the moment has gotten to you, but I must confess that I am not another woman to which you could attempt to plant your flag in.. and if you came here already knowing that I was not a woman.. then unfortunately for you, I am also not a man to which you would enjoy crossing swords with" Kasper replied, his voice cold, icy and straight to the point. "Now.. that that's settled, go give your gift to....." Kasper paused for a moment, his brows furrowing as he examined the features of the man opposite him; a slow and grudgingly laboured memory beginning to resurface as recognition came to play. "I know you... don't I..." muttered Kasper, his right hand reaching out towards Ales's face, fingers spread eagled as if appearing to grasp it, only to stop inches away, a smirk visible between the open fingers of Kasper as his crimson eyes stared into the depths of Ales's. He had seen this face before, somewhere a long time ago, a face painted with the blood of its prey, streaks of gushing red nectar cascading down the contours that shaped his visage and soaked into the torn clothing below; the sight of a man who had relinquished the reigns of humanity and allowed the sweet loving embrace of chaos to run rampant. Forsaking what it had meant to be human, this was a man he had long ago seen regress into his most base of natures, the savagery of an animal backed into a corner; a lingering moment where man and beast, good and evil were not two divided entities, but a single whole.

Kasper recognised not the man who stood before him not as he was now, not as this playboy swarmed by woman, not as this seemingly extroverted individual with good intentions. Not as this goody two shoes who gave gifts to others. No.. Kasper recognised the other side of the coin, the darkness hidden beneath the surface, the face behind the mask that he portrayed. Kasper recognised the brutal, blood thirsty fighter of the dark and seedy arena; the man whom he had seen broken by the horrors and reality of the battleground; a man who had come face to face with the monster called 'Insanity' and the man who had allowed the devil itself to control the reigns. Kasper smiled, remembering the day he witnessed the world come crumbling down for this once sassy, cocky and overconfident individual. It was the day that Primus IV had gone to the UM League, Kasper accompanying the 'godfather' as they went to watch one of their assets at play; the mercenary Tripwire; an acquaintance who did several of the more seedier jobs for the Venetti Familia. The fated meeting between Ales and tripwire would be the fire that lit the fuse, It was the first crumb in a trail of fights that would see Ales's brooding bravado begin to weaken, the breaking of his morality catching the eye of Primus IV and Kasper. The latter having experienced the same fate as well.

Needless to say, many more fights involving this promising behemoth were watched by the pair; the excitement behind watching his descent into chaos being more then enough to lure them back for more. So much so that even Primus IV had demanded to speak to the young fighter; a man who posessed the skills that he did was surely someone who 'if bought' would have proven to be a valuable piece in his arsenal; like a queen on the chessboard Primus IV wanted him. The first official meeting between Kasper and Ales was just that, the black haired pawn of the Venetti's inviting Ales to be in the presence of Primus IV, the father offering him a place in the familia. Alas, even the Primus's kindness and generosity was spat upon; rejected by what could only have been misguided bravado on Ales's part. Those moments now apart of History, Kasper could not recall another instance where they had met one another.

Nostalgia aside, Instead of continuing onwards to grasp Ales's face, Kasper instead twisted his extended hand around; his middle finger risen to full erection as he flipped the bird towards this disappointment in front of him. No trace of the monster could be identified, no sliver of what had been born in the arena could be seen. The true nature of mankind that had been birthed inside of Ales was no where to be found. Unlike Kasper, who wore the disgusting truth of what he was like a second skin, Ales appeared as nothing more then a humble man. Tch "How disappointing... how pitiful to see the man you've become.. truly.. a crime against humanity for you to have turned out like this.." began Kasper, withrawing his hand. "Your nothing like the caged animal I remember, the blood soaked psychopath who fought to survive and survived to fight... now.. looking at you in this state.. you're merely a disappointment.. so keep whatever this something is.. I need not the gift of someone who insists on hiding what they truly are"

Kasper turned, begining to walk away from Ales before stopping a few steps and doing a complete 180 again. A devious smile now etched across his face as he sauntered over to the white haired giant; quickly closing the gap between the two until Kasper's whole body was basically inches away from Ales's "...or.. Have I mistaken this whole charade?.... Jarring... Have I jumped to the wrong conclusion?.. " Kasper's voice on the verge of laughter. "Have you actually come to finally accept Primus's offer? To come groveling to me in hopes that in my kindness I would grant you another meeting with the Venetti's head?" Kasper stood on tippy toes, his right hand grasping at Ales's shirt as he pulled the half giant closer towards his height; his head tilted to his left and onto Ales's right; cheeks almost touching one another as his mouth lingered just parallel to Ales's ear. If he wanted to, he could have bitten it clean off.

"Sorry buddy..." whispered Kasper, warm breath washing over his lobe. "Lord Primus is dead. I watched the old fucker die.. him.. his sack of shit of a son... and Sofia.. oh sweet and beautiful Sofia... the angel and saving grace of the Venetti's, queen of the Adelphi theatre... gem of Optil... Haha, I watched the bitch die alongside them...all three dead... the Venetti's are dead. The offer is gone... " Kasper pushed himself off Ales so that he was now a foot away from him. "However.. I am kind, I am merciful.. I try to do my part for the world.. to be the charitable good Samaritan that this planet sorely lacks.. so.. in my mercy.. I'll allow you to work for me... I'll take good care of you" Kasper extended his hand outward though not for a handshake. Instead his palm face downwards and the back of the hand towards Ales, awaiting a kiss of fealty from the man standing opposite him, the devious smile wider then ever.

"This is my little something for you~!"

  • Novian
    Mission Selection

Novian was not shocked to see her words go to waste, yet an attempt was made and that was all that really mattered. She had easily spent enough time to know when Tina would not be able to be cooled down with words and this seemed to be one of those cases where it would be much easier just to support from the sidelines rather than play an armchair psychologist for her favorite drama-queen.

Yet the drama her friend seemed to create out of the slightest events was nothing compared to what was inside the tower. She cared not for the flashy aesthetics or the complex architecture. It was all a bit too much. Once a speaker introduced himself Novi's ears perked up, and despite the deep sense of boredom from the idea of having to follow rules she understood the severity. After repeating a dull mantra in her head a few times and then a few more she felt assured that she would remember them for the time being. After a good ten minutes of procedure she was finally able to hold her badge and license to slay. It was a nice gut feeling to achieve something that you have worked for, it is a warm and fuzzy sensation that emanates through the core of your being.

Such sensations rarely have the time to be seen to the end, as she was cut short but not to a bad end. As they were straight into the frying pan with a chance to get right into the missions. All of a sudden Novian's silent excitement was hard to hold in. What a few years ago she might think was a pipe dream of slaying monsters as a career after a long life in a place harsh as Hushura had now come to its fruition. It all started with a simply selecting a mission from a notice board. Which Tina exclaimed that they would in fact win an award from this. A weapon made of meteorite from Agenta, and her first thought was what she would have made. A small dagger for her person perhaps, the idea was tantalizing to say the least.

"I like the idea, let's go-"

By the time the words had left her mouth Tina had begun bee lining over to the strange devices, Novian being forced to trail behind and occasionally push through crowds at an uncomfortable speed. However they had made it to there and now only one question could be asked.

“So, what am I supposed to do with… this.”

A question that was answered by Novian with a resounding shrug as she observed the people around them working the strange device in an attempt to help Tina. They seemed to be tapping on the screen and just as Novian began to exclaim her profound realization she was cut off by a tattoo littered man from earlier who seemed to set off her companion. Seeing him within such close sights of Tina set off an alarm within the masked Novi that could only be interpreted as a profound, raw-

    'oh shit'

Yet her fears were quenched by a him simply tapping on the screen a few times and handing her a flower. The exchange ending without any shouting or fighting. The whole situation left Novi in a state of shock, she couldn't quite understand what happened. What she did understand was the look she received from the man. Her eyes were quick to lock with his, staring into him through her mask with eyes that were narrowed in a sudden sense of suspecion. Her mind quickly fading from Tina's show of 'kindness' (Or as close as she gets to it) and to the mans intentions.

Yet her intense stare was cut short by him walking away. Then her train of thought derailed as Tina asks her a question, which was met by a quick pivot to meet Tina and a nod to confirm that she thought Tina capable of solving the riddle of the screen.

"Very- apparently." A quick silence came over Novian's words before she realized that they were holding up the line. "Let us find out team and set out to our mission."
