"For only those who follow the path of Shikari may enter"

Invictus, located on Invicti Isle is home base to all Slayers.

In the distance, a tower stood tall waiting for those worthy of its call.

Five ferries, from five different countries bore the emblem of a large, bold and blue N. These ferries were massive hulking vessels designed for passengers of any shape, form, and size and they carried the latest generation towards the most important destination-- Invicti.

The place where the latest gen would gather and meet from their collective homes for the first time.

A roaring whistle came pouring out of each vessel as they all neared the island, signalling to all passengers on board that their time was near and that their first ever visit to the institution started soon. With a hiss of steam the ferry of Hushura and Amacensia reached the dock first. But the voice of the captain warned wisely that all passengers halt till the other boats moored as well.

It took only but a few seconds for Dukreus, Agenta and Marvuelo to dock their ferries and when all five were docked, only then did the Helmsman give words of wisdom to the future Slayers on each boat. A simple warning to all passengers to not dally around as they’d find the island a familiar sight in time.

After all, it’d be the sad sight to be kicked out of Invictus merely for missing the inauguration speech and Badge Ceremony.

Gates were opened and with the gates, the attendees poured out of the vessels that had whisked them away from their homes and gathered into the dock awaiting them dowm below.

For the natives of Marvuelo you could see the water and fish below as the stained glass floor lined the inner section of the dock, a style popular in Marvuelo. Fish that bore unique patterns on their scales swam by, oblivious to the observers above.

“Please follow down the dock" a voice echoed from tiny speakers that lined the sides of the dock, "all of your things will be sent forth to our dormitories' lounges on campus. After your first mission as true Slayers you shall be able to pick and arrange as you please.

The tower awaits down this bridge."

And so move the crowd did and as they did more cultures unveiled.

All lining the dock's bridge posts were tapestries of stars shaping into the human form woven in traditional Dukrean fashion. Ones that spoke of the ancient unknown benevolent spirit, Altair, and the spirits of good and evil that fought bitterly around Them and Their allies, those gifted with Aura. Stories of life and death could be seen in some, the rise of madness and insanity that was awakened for those that wanted power, and the forces of balance in good and evil.

The closer the five groups got to the distant tower, the more the cultures blended as one. The sea-through yet powerful glass of Marvuelo, and tapestries of ancient Dukreian art were followed by Amacensia's statues.

On each post, one of the seven spirits were depicted as a statue, which was bolted down if you were brave enough to try to take it. Since even one of the same spirit would differ a fair deal it showed that each one was handmade by different citizens, leaving only the nameplate of the statue to tell which you were looking at. And next to each statue were lamps that went down the dock.

There were two distinct styles a lotus flower lamp would glow when someone passed, marking it as distinctly Hushuran. The second type would float and be only held down by the string that tethered it to the dock.

As the tower came into view, the final cultural feat came from Agenta. Tiny minature balloons powered by Floomgrit; red firey crystals that belched heat into the balloons causing them to soar, bound by tethers to the ground. Contraptions homage to the air travel of the distant northeastern nation.

At the end of the bridge the five groups could see a large imposing gate that blocked entree from the Central Tower. The tower itself stretched high into the sky and had no windows of any design to look out from. Only a gate of which was the only exit and entrance.

This gate glowed a bright green then that green light seeped into walls and with a steady but quick pull, the gate was split in half and pulled inside the walls.

Central Tower was open. And the inauguration begins.

Ales
Central Tower

A long trip led to a pleasant conclusion. With the gates opened, the tide of people moved dockwards and following instructions as he stepped foot to the bridge, Ales took note of his soon-to-be colleagues.

Particularly those from the other boats, and his keen eye took note of the varying details about each and every attendee as they all moved towards the distant tower ahead. From the Hushurans and their unique styles and masks, to the Agentans, to glancing through the Marvuelans, with Amacensia's team catching his eyes last. At the Amacensians, Ales took a second to pause and admire them.

He wondered if there would be a problem with them in the future. Then again, time would tell.

Adjusting his sun glasses once he'd seen all he had wanted, Ales chose not to 'dally' any further and with haste took after his group. Recognizing many faces out of the crowd in his group and becoming familiar with new ones of the others at the same time. He smiled here or there if one of the familiar faces glanced his way or looked towards his reflective, mirror lenses but said nothing else as he moved with the tide and instead took his time to observe surroundings and take in the beauty each culture had to offer. It was only at the statues of Amacensia, the lamps of Hushura and finally the miniature craft of Agenta that Ales took his time to really soak in what he was seeing.

However, more important business called and with a slight adjustment of his coat, he moved onward after giving each cultural feature a few seconds of his time. It didn't take long for the tower to show itself. It was a massive hulking figure made of...byzantite, with a gate that could withstand the force of over a hundred thousand Newtons, as far as they could tell him.

Looking up at the tower and watching the gates open, Ales felt a shift in the land-- a subtle change in his surrounding environment that was different from people simple moving around, as they should-- this shift was....

Ryuu

The tackle hug was immediate and it almost bowled Ales over had he not caught himself. Saying nothing but smiling warmly without facing the Amyr, Ales allowed his old colleague and fellow Dukreian to latch themselves onto his back. Hunkering down for a piggyback ride of guaranteed proportions.

After all, Ryuuse would simply do it again later if he asked them to politely hop off now.

"Nice to see you again also", was Ales' only reply as he moved forward now that the gates were open. Catching sight of two particularly familiar faces Ales did the one thing he knew how to do best; say 'hi' in his own way.

Walking by Tai Hen with his makeshift Ryuuse backpack attached, Ales flicked the tip of the elf's ear lightly. Not to be mean, just to get her attention. He moved onwards, glancing her way once to let her know it was him and he flashed a disarming smile as he did.

He hardly knew her but in here he'd have to learn about everyone so starting now wasn't bad.

His next target was an old friend and instead of doing something she could judo flip him for, Ales tapped Ixni on the shoulder as he passed and waved "hello" as he made his way towards the tower's entrance. Shooting her a smile as he moved by.

"You must admit" he said to no one in particular, "they know how to put work into a greeting." With nothing more, he moved forwards with a Ryuu backpack behind him.

Ryuuse Wyvernore

Ryuuse never liked boat rides, it was always a random detail to their character that had never come up as a problem before since Dukreus was landlocked. So as much as their flubberly self would have loved to use the travel time to get familiar with their fellow Dukrians, Ryuu found themselves on the side with their head over the ledge ready to vomit whatever rejected items their body could muster. Ryuu glanced up at the other two boats docking with a creeping feeling of envy before hearing the instructions of their docking.

The small flubber stretched their arms, exhaling loudly as a sense of relief washed over them. Finally, the worst of it was over. Wobbling after the group, Ryuu's strength slowly returned to them the moment they stepped off the boat. Their eyes darting from each country's attraction and the people from those countries themselves! From the mysterious Hushurians to the tallest Agenten, everyone had the potential to be a capable ally and the bestest of friends. Ryuu forced themselves away from the statues, doing their best not to dally at the new sightings and for the first time in the trip took a good look at their fellow Dukrians. They could recognize a few faces, mostly based on their performances but the one the flubber knew most of all was Flower Boy Ales.

"ALES!!!"

The only warning was given before the flubber took it upon themselves to dash up to the man and leap onto their back for a full body hug. The small Amyr shimmered themselves up more into a proper piggyback ride, leaning their head to Ales's side,
"Remember me? I was the one who tried to feed you at one of the tournaments! I've gotten a lot stronger now, see? See? Hey now that I'm stronger we can be friends-- Ooo, we should get familiar with the others, they're strong too! Did you see them at the tournament? I did! Do you think we can get matching shirts for Dukreus?" The flubber rambled loudly, occasionally gesturing at the other Dukrians in regards to their performances in whichever tournament Ryuu had recognized them from.

Ryuu's cheeks ballooned in a pout when Ales didn't really engage in conversation, only giving a short reply as everything they said flew over his head. They loudly exhaled, laying their head on Ales's shoulder since Ales didn't push them off like last time . . . Actually last time a lot of pulled them off in their first encounter, but that was beside the point--
Each person Ales greeted subtle prompted gasps and awe as the flubber fanned over them. They didn't remember each of their results exactly or even their abilities, but they remembered their faces and surely that meant they were worth something. Not everyone they idolized at the Facility ended up pursuing Invictus, but the people who were here would do great for sure.

In regards to Ales's distant comment, Ryuu could only tilt their head to try to read his face, unsure if that was directed at their flubberly self or to anyone else Ales greeted. Not wanting to dwell on it too much, Ryuu tightened his hold on Ales while they sat up more to point forward as if they were leading a charge and Ales was their valiant steed.
"Hee-ho! It's time to move forward like our futures!! Onwards!!"

Corossa DeSangre

---
The rocking of the boat did not help the raging headache that Corossa DeSangre nursed as they sailed towards Invicti Isle. In hindsight, partying, drinking, and overall being an idiot didn’t help his case either, as he stood and made his way to the closest railing. Leaning over the side, Cor held back the feeling to throw up his breakfast into the rolling blue waters. Staring at the horizon, Cor sighed when he felt the ferry dock, and had to go listen to the helmsman say some ‘inspirational words’, whatever that meant. Listening only made Cor snort, as he tightened his jacket hanging off his shoulders.

Walking down the gangplank, Cor looked around in a hidden curiosity. Here was a new facility to train and practice, to learn and expand, and to find more information on why the world was in a state that it currently was. Feeling his feet plant themselves against the dock, Cor looked down at the multitude of fish underneath. Recognizing a few species, he began listing off their names, uses, and usual environments in his head as he walked. Interrupted by a voice from over the intercom, Cor stood still as he let the passing of the other passengers overtake him. He wanted to be behind everyone, an action and decision that eases his paranoia. It lets him observe everyone from behind, knowing no one else is following him.

Walking towards the entrance of the tower, Cor gazed up suspiciously at the tower. No windows and only a single door/entrance. If the tower was an above ground facility, windows and some sort of either balcony, or fire escape system would have been implemented. Did that mean that the entire facility was subterranean? He didn’t know, and he didn’t really care at the moment.

Spotting a nearby lamp post, Cor took a single step, then disappeared from everyone’s sight. Moments later, Cor appeared on top of the lamp post, crouching. His jacket fluttered slightly from the sudden movement, until it settled once more against his back. Steadying himself with one hand, he took out a silver flask, and quickly took a drink. “Amanescian brandy. Sorry for stealing the whole bottle Laia.” he muttered as he observed the other docks from his vantage point. He recognized a few cultural points of significance, having traveled for both ‘work’ and ‘business’. Muttering to himself again, Cor stood and dropped from the lamp post. Midair, he once again disappeared and then appeared moments later in the back of the group. No one noticed his disappearance, or his side trip.

"Let's just get this over with..." If this place was anything like the Elysion, he'd probably hate it here. Hopefully, it wasn't.

| Tai Hen | Central Tower |

Leaning over the ship with bright eyed excitement, was Tai, looking over the blue seas while letting out the occassional loud 'wow' at the sights. It was her first time outside of Dukreus, and she welcomed the new experiences with open arms.

A whistle cut her sightseeing short, pulling her out of her stupor. With all her attention focused on the endless waters before, she only now took the time to truly observe the other ships arriving with them. A childlike excitement welled up inside her as she observed the docking ships, wrapped gifts waiting to be opened. She'd often wondered what people from other countries were like.

With the ships docked, she finally stepped onto firm land with the others. The ocean was beautiful, but it was still comforting to be on solid earth again. Just as she reveled in the firm, hard ground, she was greeted by the numerous cultural displays of various nations. Though she wanted to stay a while to appreciate them and to keep her mind off the unpleasant, she knew she shouldn't be lollygagging.

Taking the helmsman's advice to heart, she painstakingly moved on, spending as little time sightseeing as she could. Instead, she chose to focus her attention on her fellow Dukreians. Naturally, she recognized them all. There was Lily, the gentle giant responsible for her neck pains, Horny, who looked super cool as always, and finally, Jelly, the backpack who definitely wasn't taller than her.

Suddenly, she felt a flick on her ear. "Bwah!?" She exclaimed in surprise, before turning to face the offender, Lily. Returning his smile with a feigned look of betrayal, she caught up with him in order to return the favor, but soon realized that was impossible. "Heh, I'll forgive you this time, bud, but I'll have you know, if you-" Tripping from her efforts to look Aleś in the face, she dusted herself off before continuing. "If you touch my ears like that again, you won't get off so lightly."

Gracefully ignoring Jelly, who was currently elevated above her height via the giant, she approached the looming tower with the others, cracking the occassional bad pun. She couldn't help but gawk as she watched the gates slowly open. Struck by a sudden thought, she nudged Aleś' hip with her elbow. "Don't forget to duck your head, Lily." She warned him, snickering all the while.

RenoSila like him had it the worst when it came to smoke and alcohol. The scent of tobacco clinging onto clothes was bad enough for those with more sensitive noses, but when it was on the fur, nothing short of a full body rinse would get rid of it. In the smoky bars that he frequented, it would have been unnoticeable. Not in a crowd like this though. Maybe he should quit. It just wasn't worth the effort to keep up his habit. His wallet was in agreement with this decision too. Given the current state of affairs, it wouldn’t be long before tobacco taxes caught up to him. He glanced at his pack of Arcturus, then sighed and shoved it into his pocket. Gods, he needed a puff. Man, he could imagine the headlines if he were just a little bit more famous. Renault Fortinbras, Revolver Tiger, 267-43, Quits Smoking. He gave a low chuckle. As if. He’d never have his face on the news. Second place got, at best, the middle.

Must be nice to be able to teleport around like that. He didn't think no one saw him perch himself on top of a lamp post, did he? Maybe the others didn't notice, but certainly no one fools the eyes of a ringfighter. Besides, it was literally the highest spot in the area. He must be brazen enough to have the guts to get a buzz in an environment like this. Yeesh. Reno rubbed the back of his neck. He had his work cut out for him, it seemed. No Mals or Lyns here to back him up here, just a bunch of alcoholics and wasted space. Then again, the reason why they were here, in this place right now, was because they felt themselves self-important enough to take it to the big leagues. He, himself, didn't have an excuse. Honestly speaking, he probably wouldn't even measure up against most of them. He had heard murmurings than some of these people had more than a decade of experience as Qin battlers. What did he have? Several years of down-in-the-dirt, no-holds-barred, kick-em-when-they’re-down and only less than half of half a decade of playing with Qin.

Bah, what was he going on about? He had to get his head in the game and out of the rut. He didn't need to depend on his old friends any more. They were a memory. A good memory that kept him going. He won't ever forget them, but neither would he rely on them going forwards. He needed to get in there, make new connections, new allies. A prizefighter like him’s only got one path forwards, and it was forwards, ducking and weaving through the punches life gave him, and giving it a good old one-two for good measure. Full with resolve, he slipped forwards to the young man he had spotted, and in a few steps, closed in on him.

Heeeeey, buddy, did you know that that’s a sin?” Reno draped one arm over the young man’s shoulder. “Not sharing, that is.” He tried his best not to make a face at the scent of alcohol invading his more sensitive senses. “Don’t try and hide it, friend, you’ve got it on your breath and your clothes. The nose knows.” Reno grinned and tapped his nose, then released the young man from his arm. “Marvuelo too, huh? Name’s Renault. Reno, for short. Put ‘er there, chum.” He held out his hand for a shake, as was tradition of introductions decreed since time immemorial.

The floor still hadn’t stopped rocking! This marked Tina’s first disappointment on the land of Nevma, and she was so looking forward to it too - the solid ground she didn’t know how much she loves until just recently. The sea was a formidable opponent, for days it had terrorized her stomach and even refused to lessen its grip on her now that she had made the first step out of its territory. Tina had no idea if what doesn’t kill you really makes you stronger, but she was sure as hell more spiteful of this world than before this hellish trip. Any resolve can only be strengthened by hardships, and Tina could already feel her resolve getting stronger as she vowed solemnly to eliminate all types of water transportation once she takes over the world!

Once she had done entertaining those thoughts, the girl turned to examine her surrounding. Most people were already on their way toward the tower. Beside her, stood Novian, the masked girl who she could never quite read, well, mostly because she always had her mask on. The ground was also starting to stable, giving her a chance to really take in her surroundings. It was a nice day on the docks, the sea breeze, which she didn’t have much chance to enjoy while she was locking herself in the room through the trip, was extremely pleasant when it blew through her “hair” - snakes in Valentina’s, a Gorgon, case.

The snakes, white scale and blood-red eyes, lazily tasting the fresh air with their forked tongues, the other Hushurians were quite used to the sight. She wondered what would people from the other countries think when they see her hair in action, frightened, she hoped. But from what she saw on her way to the Central Tower, they wouldn’t be so easily impressed. Everything managed to adequately meet her expectation, the bits and pieces from each culture greeted her in every corner, their functions unbeknownst to her, but still fascinated her curious soul nonetheless. The people, although no less strange, were more or less the same in appearance with her countrymen, it was their clothing and behavior she found weird; they licked each other, stood on top of a lamp post, and other barbarous, uncivilized conducts!

“You see that, Novi? I never quite expect to find such an uncultured crowd here like in our forest back home.” Said Tina to her companion, but the masked elf didn’t agree as enthusiastic as she wanted.

“Hm, let us hope the best warriors this land has to offer are more… admirable.” As per usual, it didn’t annoy her as much as she enjoyed expressing her annoyance. Complaining, even in small doses, was a way to remind herself and people around her where she stood in this world. Much like the way she walked at her own pace despite the Helmsman’s words of warning, there were still so much to see. She loitered around, halted her steps at anything remotely interesting like a kid. The snakes were also fully engaged in her sightseeing, turning their heads every which way, from afar, Tina would probably look like her head had turned into a very lively Afro. Occasionally, some unique people in the crowd would pique her curiosity; they would be met with her unrelenting stare, the stare of a child in her first time at the zoo. It would probably take her forever to reach the Center Tower had her friend not urged her toward their real destination.

Quickly making his way off the ferry behind several others, the giant clad only in a simple black bomber jacket and light washed grey denim jeans could not be any happier. All things considering, the cramped confines of the sea vessel had done its best to nurture the seeds of claustrophobia in the white haired giant. The man's jubiliation at seeing the large expanse of the ocean sea quickly deteriorating once he spent longer then 5 minutes on that boat. Despite the ship being designed to accomodate all species and their varying shapes and sizes, Ragnar still could not help but feel restricted whilst on board, the space in which he was allowed to freely roam being limited to the ship alone and restricted by four sides of open sea. There was only so much you could do on the boat before you quickly got bored.

On solid ground once more, Ragnar at his full imposing height of 9'7, quickly caught sight of the various cultural designs lining the walls that lead the group to their destination; the see-through glass of the Marvuelians, the intricate tapestries of the Dukreasians, the imposing statues of Amacensia; all of which bore a deep uniqueness to their design. Even a brute muscle headed giant like Ragnar could appreciate the time and effort that was clearly put into sculpting the work of art that stood before him. Beside each masterpiece were two distinct lighting features; a lamp which seeming reacted to the presence of others; its beauty coming to light whenever someone walked past. Lastly and what struck Ragnar the most was the replication of the Agenta's air travel; tiny balloons accompanied by the fiery Floomgrit crystal which powered their levitation. A truly magnificent replication of what Agenta was known for; their advancement in the art of air travel second to none.

Despite these cultural masterpieces; the thing that dwarfed everything on display was none other then 'Central tower' itself; the large tower devoid of any noticeable exterior design including the lack of any windows that one would normally expect to see on a building. The tower itself was nothing more then a solid construct; one so tall that its peak was hidden beyond the clouds above. Whilst simplistic in visual design, even Ragnar had to stand back in awe of its sheer size; the giant whistling to himself as he marvelled at its full glory. It was a rare thing for a giant to ever feel so small and insignificant; yet the tower succeeded at evoking such feelings within him. It was only the sound of others gawking at the gates sudden opening that managed to draw Ragnar's attention back down towards earth where a gate of imposing size was in the process of opening; the speed in which it did so parallel to the growing excitement in the room.

Standing before the opened doors of Central tower, Ragnar could not help but feel the adrenaline rise within himself; his muscles tensing ever so slightly as his excitement rose to the occasion. The famed Nevma Academy was opening its gate right before him; the elite academy of slayers renowned across the lands had come from this very place and it was now Ragnar's turn to step foot into the hallowed campus.

Clenching either fist and cracking his knuckles, the giant proceeded to walk forward, towards the awaiting future that the academy held for him.

  • Novian
    Invictus Docks > Central Tower

    I

Novian had a hard time holding her lunch within the boat itself. For hours upon hours she had to make sure she didn't vomit within her mask out of fear for embarrassing herself infront of everyone in the boat. Her companion had made sure to keep her mind slightly off the subject yet she was firmly planted in the belief that she would never want to ride a boat again in Nevma's wavy seas. Yet that hope was far from reality, as she just landed on an island which means that to get home... ugh.

Every step off the boat was a relief to the girl's stomach, as it slowly began to settle once on dry land. With that out of the way, it gave Novian time to think about other things besides her stomach. Her eyes glazed over the other people walking along the docks, her masked stare coming down to quite a few. What caught her attention the most was a tall man with a boy riding him like a backpack- yelling and shouting. The thoughts of incompetence came first before reason. Her mind jumping to the immediate conclusion that they didn't belong here, yet a few seconds pass and she thinks about it a bit more. As only the truly eccentric would sign up for a job like this anyways- so what does that make her. She nodded to Tina's comments but her mind stowed the thought afraid she may eventually insult herself within her own mind. Besides, there was so much more to look at and think about. She had been working for a good many years of her life for this and others will have no effect on her success.

She could almost taste the status of Shikari, all she must do is what she loves. Slay a menace to society, she even gets paid for it. Guess there is a saying that rings true. 'Nothin' says I can't do my part for humanity and get paid well for my trouble.' The thoughts of slaying monsters flooded her mind, they were a common occurrence. After all, she has been training to do so for the last few years. She went out of her way to read every piece of literature possible on monsters and never missed a day of training.

Yet no amount of daydreaming could sate Novian, after all she would rather get right to it. Yet her friend seemed to have different thoughts with her childlike staring, Though they were sorta interesting. Novian's own eyes turned to the sights of each country. They were entertaining enough to look at but during the slow walk with Tina she seemed to lose interest much quicker than her counterpart. Sure they were neat- but they were nicknacks. Even if Hushura had submitted the best nicknacks they were still just that. Before long Novian was reaching her hand up to Tina, pushing her on her back to get her moving. Her soul lacking the patience to wait for a child to look at every inch of this quite frankly- massive space.

"We may find better warriors inside, we should hurry before we are late"

Sure she could just walk off but then she would be alone with a bunch of non-Hushurans, and the fact that they did stand on a lamp post and the like was not reassuring in the least. The thought alone is nervewracking so it would be much simpler to try to force her friend to go a bit faster.

Ales
Central Tower

Feeling a nudge at his hip, Ales looked down at Tai Hen and heard her quip.

A quip that made devilish thoughts and ideas spring to mind. "Oh I will", he said a hint of an accent making 'will' sound like 'whill', "but you should also, no? I would hate to see a companion get stepped on. In fact--" in one swift move he grabbed her shirt, tugged her back just enough and then grabbing Tai Hen by the waist with no effort at all hoisted the small elf up to chest level, lifting her clean off the ground with no strain or struggle at all.

"Now we both need to watch our heads, don't we Tainy?" he asked with a hint of smugness but all the grace of innocent obliviousness to what he was doing. Blatantly ignoring any protests the elf might have and willing to take any possible slaps or offhanded protests in the soon to be present, with his Ryuu backpack and his Tainy luggage, Ales followed a male Giant towards the entrance only to pause when he felt a brief fluctuation only he could feel from the land.

Almost frozen in place, catching the semi-giant a bit off guard he blinked behind his shades and had to wonder why someone would use their powers so early when things hadn't even started yet. Running it down to the simple conclusion of boredom or wanting to get away from someone Ales turned-- wanting to see if he could identify who that was when another shift and whisper from the land and passing breeze made his attention turn to someone else.

A Gorgon and her masked...human...companion. Both Hushurans.

Watching the masked one avert her gaze, Ales' shielded and hidden eyes turned to the source that had alerted his senses-- three of Miss Snake Afro's serpents peering in his direction. A sight that made him wonder if this granted the Amyr a 360 sense of vision or a heightened sense of awareness. Staring at the snakes that stared at him, he saw the Gorgon's eyes shoot him something akin to a smoldering or withering glare. A sight that may have been amusing to a child if they didn't understand just how dangerous such a fiery look could be or may have been reason for caution and a sense of discomfort for those that knew what eye contact with a Gorgon could do.

Unphased but aware of the dangers such a look could hold on the field Ales smiled at the two, intrigued by the Gorgon's features much like any other species outside the human race tended to garner interest from his eyes, and then he did something daring, he tilted his shades down just a little to barely reveal the burning magenta of his eyes which stared directly at the two with glittering interest and winked with a cocky smile in friendly greeting. Whether it was directed at the Gorgon or her masked companion was anyone's guess but it was clear he'd been aware of their staring, he was looking at them and he was saying 'hello' in the most informal of Dukreian greetings. The kind of greeting that got you a "hmph" or a scoff in certain environments but to Ales this was his way of making a mark with who he was and he was a saucey fellow who enjoyed a bit of a lemon twisy here and there. He did this all, all while ignoring Ryuu who clung to his back like a koala and Tai Hen (whom he still had tucked under his arm and showed no signs of letting go). Then shifting his shades back up to hide his eyes he turned. He turned back to the Tower not offering much of a word or a gesture after, taking a mental note about the Gorgon and her companion. Filing them away just as he had filed others away into his memory bank for later recollection.

Things were sure to be interesting. Of that he could tell.

With a casual shift to readjust his Tainy luggage, Ales moved onward. Both aware of how odd he looked with two people hitching a ride on him as transport and unconcerned with the impression it gave at all.

Amaru

Hushurians weren't known for their boating experiences, and as if the world had come together to punish them all the boat ride had left a queasy feeling in many of them if not all. Everyone on the boat had gone to their own little areas to cope with the rocking in their own way; one had stayed in their room, another seemed to be trying to distract themselves and Amaru began to meditate. Cradling his lotus-like flower in his hands, the hooded male used it as a focal point in his Qin meditation. Breathing in to draw in his Qin, then a slow exhale to let it flow through him. This served beneficial to both beings, the flower in his hand being kept alive and the petite being able to push through the motion sickness as well as quelling any nerves he might have had prior. It took him a few seconds to shake out of his meditation once they started docking and an extra minute to seal his flower at his side and readjust his half mask.

Not that it mattered if he got off the ship before the other two, he was already planning on trailing behind them even if he didn't get a good view at the front of the crowd. Keeping his head forward the hooded male only spared a few glances at the other country's trinkets, only pausing at the small balloon thingy. He wasn't sure at first which country this belonged to and had started to reach up to try to grab it before it had spun in the wind to show an Agentian Symbol. Amaru pulled his hand back, continuing forward as if nothing had happened. Agenta was the barbaric country, no? Or maybe it was Censia . . . His shoulders began to slouch, disheartened that he couldn't recall these details. Then he remembered he didn't actually care that much about it anyways and brushed it off.

The main attraction had to be the people-- not the Gorgan and her human pet, that was an old story to him. There were far more interesting characters such as the man showing off his power and another man showing off his strength by carrying two people like items of luggage; the same man going as far as to wink at the Lady Viper herself. This confused Amaru since it should be common knowledge to not play with a snake and he had assumed only a Fox would be fooled. People were so complicated . . .
However, out of all of the people around him the one that stood out the most had to be the 9 ft giant up ahead. They didn't have anyone so big in Hushara . . . actually, now that he was closing the distance between them a lot of people were taller than he had expected. There were also people tinier than he was (excluding the pet), but that didn't really matter to him that much. What really mattered was whether or not he'd be able to get such a giant to be on his side-- now just thinking about the possibilities of having that massive creature at his disposal was enough to get his heart racing. Such raw power, if only it could be his . . . Feeling his hood start to slip off from looking up was enough to snap him out of his fantasizing. Amaru quickly pulled his hood back down and continued forward, placing his thoughts aside for after they've settled.

    Invictus Docks > Central Tower

The boat ride was something of a novelty to the Amyr. She had kept herself to a far side of the boat seperated from the large crowds, watching the waves beat against the side of the ship and the trail of foamy water follow in it's wake. The rock of the boat was actually quite comfortable to her and she was able to get used to it in relative stride. Her mind wandered to thoughts of being on such a boat alone, and being a little more alone in the night. With nothing but maybe a few candles... the whole idea seemed relaxing.

Her idle thoughts were rudely interrupted by the boat stopping; with her whole body jolting forward a few inches with the stop. Dull eyes examined her surroundings as she found people starting to gather and leave the ship. It took her a few seconds to decide if she should merge into the crowd; she came to the conclusion that she would have to leave the boat sooner or later.

As she began to turn around she felt someone tap her on her shoulder. Her first instinct was the turn back around to figure out who it was but all she caught was a good glimpse of an old friend walking past. With...

    Has he lost his mind?-

Ixni stared at Ales walk past, motionless as she try to comprehend a modicum of what was going on in that 6' tall piece of space. Her animalistic eyes glancing over each figure. Then like a switch was flipped in her mind and somehow she wished she just stayed confused. Someone was hanging onto his back like a monkey and he was carrying someone else. Both figures she didn't even recognize. She wondered how he managed to be less professional than her.

Unfortunately, she does not command time and before long while caught up in her thought she found the landing platform devoid of the crowd, which was her cue to get off- unless she likes swimming to the port. With a brisk jog, Ixni found herself on dry land again and now had to wade through a crowd people she hardly recognized. Though it didn't take long for her to find Ales.

With a few long strides and a lot of "excuse me"s the horned amyr found herself beside the human with her hand reaching out to get his attention. By that time he had already started walking to the main tower again, nearly leaving her in the dust. She began to walk beside him, having a bit of trouble keeping up with his long strides. Yet she found no trouble increasing her pace to keep up with his.

"Hey! Already trying to get away from me?" She punctuates her words with a little jab to Ales sides, though she couldn't be mad with such a light-hearted tone combined with a smile.

While it was nice to see an old friend, her eyes struggled in trying their best to focus on Ales and not his passengers.

Éliphas
Long and winding, the road that lead him here passed beyond the veil of all memory. As the gates of the Academy opened, Eli's mind, like a vice, snapped closed around the object that had been his goal - the twinkling star on the horizon that marked the end of one journey and the beginning of another - and left no room within for any thought but this: Get inside. Keep moving. He noticed himself tugging the fringes of his veil more closely around his face. An old, paranoid habit. But one that may have just helped him avoid detection crossing the desert... It was a tricky calculus, overcoming the mind's tendency to entrench within itself strange and, occasionally, nonsensical fixations. On this particular occasion, Eli thought better than to fight against it. After all, upstanding as he was sure his new acquaintances were, Amacensia's arm was long, and its sight could reach him even here. Until he was beyond the gates, he would remain wary.

Thisss isss the place? Asked a small voice. A curl tugged at the corner of Eli's lip. That's right, he thought. Though I go, now, to a strange and far away place... At least I do not go alone.

"It is," he responded in a hushed whisper. Eyes up, he scanned the crowd to see if any had taken note of his apparent need to speak into his shoulder. None, to his knowledge, had paid him any mind since arriving. That was just as well. The less attention he drew to himself, the better. For now, at least. "We should be arriving soon... Hush now!" He straightened up. A group of boisterous soon-to-be initiates at the academy passed near him. The sounds of their conversation reached his ear. Instinctively, he turned, so that the back of his cowl faced them. He appeared, as he walked, to be admiring something far off in the distance, all the while counting the moments as they passed before he could risk chatting again. And all the while the petulant spirit badgered him incessantly.

Eliiii! Are we there yet? Eliiiiiphaaaaaasssss!~

When the ferry had docked properly, Rina walked off in something similar to a male's formal suit. It was actually her family's trademark clothes for when they attend the public, evidenced by the Rubare's symbol on the grey coat. Still, it was one of the proper clothes she had with trousers. Trousers wouldn't give her too much impression as a spoiled rich girl who was only there for fun, she hoped.

Rina wasn't much of an appraiser for art, but she could tell that the dock was designed exquisitely while keeping the culture of the five nations in thought. She recognised Dukreans' artful tapestries, and of course the statues of Amancians. The glass panels reminded her of the sea floor walls back in Crystal Elysion. The species of the fish underneath was different from back in Marvuelo, though Rina didn't recognise them further than they were colourful. The Hushurans and Agentan should be represented too somewhere... but she didn't know enough to recognised them.

Of course, it wouldn't do to dally in the dock. Rina made her observation while she still followed the crowd, carrying her violin case on her left hand. Her suitcase could go, but her violin stay. She needed to be always ready in case she needed it. After all, she also represented her family and Marvuelo when she came to Invicti Isle. No one told her to, but she didn't want to muddy up her own image for the very least.

Speaking of Marvuelo, two of the Marvuleans were at the very back, striking their first conversation. How did she know? Because one of them just introduced himself. Her hearing became very sharp ever since she opened her second gate. And the name she heard made her widened her eyes in surprise. It couldn't be, right? A vague possibility popped up in her head but she put it aside. There were not only one Renoult called Reno in Marvuelo. Rina slowed down her pace and stepped backward to move to their side.

"Something good to share? The way you phrase it makes it sounds like you bring drugs here. I heard Invictus doesn't look much into a Slayer's past. A former drug dealer here won't be weird, right?" Rina butted in into their conversation with a smile.

It was a breach of etiquette to interrupt a conversation but heaven knew if she could make any friend by being a stickler to proper conduct.

When Corossa touched down back to the dock, the last thing he expected was for someone to drape there arm over his shoulder and ask him to share his drink. He flinched slightly, and tensed, preparing draw his blades if necessary. The chains rattled as he relaxed his muscles and took a look to the person that decided it was okay for them to be all buddy-buddy. A fur covered face, slightly feline, and a light peach greeted him. Red hair covered his head like a mane, and slightly red-orange eyes met Cor's own purple. Cor instantly recognized him from the dossiers he read before entering the school. Renault Fortinbras, a prize fighter from Marvuelo, commonly known as Revolver Tiger. He was a man Cor occasionally saw around the bars of Marvuelo. He remembered watching a few of his fights, and Cor must say he was impressed. After all, he had to have some skill if he made it to Invictus.

"Sorry friend." Cor responded, shrugging off Reno's shake as Cor continued walking forward. "I would give in to share, but this stuff is a rather precious brew. Imported Amacensian brandy. Stuffs hard to come by and this was a gift." Pocketing his flask after taking another sip, Cor looked up to the sky, hands behind his head. "So what brings the infamous Revolver Tiger here to Invictus?" he asked. Cor was interested to know why a famed fighter was here. If anything, he could've made a living off fights in the ring. "Nah. Don't answer. I'd rather find out on my own." Hearing another voice, feminine this time, Cor looked over his shoulder to see the last person he'd expect. A former idol here at Invictus. Well, he shouldn't be surprised considering he's seen her at the Elysion.

Rina Rubare, the daughter of an influential merchant family, the sister to the current heir. Her father was an acquaintance of Laia, and he's met him on some occasions. Of course being the former popular idol she was, Rina was sure to turn heads. "And no, you're not interrupting anything Miss Rubare. And yes, a former drug dealer here is weird. The academy does to background checks to a degree. It's to make sure no one has fake transcripts or is lying about certain requirements." Cor replied with a slightly chuckle. "But ah, let's not get into that. My new friend and I were talking about the wonders of alcohol and it's 'curative' properties. How alcohol is simply a wonder drink and a delight for many. Of course this hangover of mine isn't going away soon." Cor chuckled while rubbing his forehead. "Well, I never introduced myself, did I? Let me fix that. Corossa DeSangre, at your service. It is a pleasure to meet fellow some friendlier Marvuelans and fellow students."

The rocking of the boat felt rather ridiculous, he wondered why it was so different being above the water than it was under it. These boats weren’t even designed with windows, what type of cheap shit was this. Then again if it was on its way to Nevma it may not even be a Marvuelan vessel. Hmmm something to look into, it’d be bad if they couldn’t even have proper vessels. Wait no are these Dukrean craftsmenship? Would that be insulting? Okay maybe he should drop his gripes for now.

“Of course she’d be one to-”
    “No way I’d-”
    “So I’m going straight home-”
    “Did you know-”
“I want to see Northern Dukreus-”

Chatter filled the boat as he scanned through the people. He was sizing them up naturally, but also searching for any familiar faces. While he did see a few he felt it was better to wait up first, after all you should never underestimate the power of gossip. Still it was the first day and he wasn’t getting much that he didn’t already expect. There was a lot of speculation, he wondered if any of them had left Marvuelan territory before.

It didn’t really matter that he hadn’t, heck that’s the point of the academy in his eyes. With all the chaos around the doorstep who needed to go to another country anyways. Luckily Marvuelo seemed tame in comparison to the territories of Amacensia or Dukreus. Well he knew that wasn’t necessary true, the Elysion kept stressing that familiarity is fatal.

He stop pondering as he felt the docking of the boat. Hmmm so then they were here already. He let the others go out in packs holding off his curiosity. He left the boat to see that they were the furthest back of the boats. Mmm that’s interesting. While it was good for him he wondered if it was just a matter of being last up.

Before him he could see packs of people as once again the conversations began to blur into one another. He spotted someone he knew and went forth. He figured he wasted enough time, people were always different on first glance anyways. Something about the principal of observation? Oh well he was no researcher.

“Drugs? Damn Rina you found us a celebrity already?”

He leaned in close behind the girl while looking straight at the Man introducing himself. Wait did he just say Corossa? Holy shit she found an actual celebrity. He was only joking! That was until he looked at him again, this liar.

“Hey hey I know she’s cute Sena but that’s a mean joke on the first day. Also who’s the tag along?- Hey there Kitty I’m Hirune Solos. Who’re you.”

The boat ride over was odd. It felt so different than the air, the stability felt lower and while the risks were way higher technically in the air… well you never knew what lurked in the waters. ‘The borders were to be respected’, for some reason the memory of Lady Justine’s voice made him step back. Healthy curiosity was good and all but in reality the waters were always associated with danger in his mind. The lower levels of Domingente and the monsters that would crawl out from the waters popped into his head.

He flung himself back turning to the others on the boat. Fifty filled the insides including himself, a slightly lower number than usual but he knew many would stay with the church, a good deal here would even return to it. He palmed the pendant around his neck a little reminder that he’d never be alone even as he went off to another land. He let himself focus on the links he had formed. He could feel them clear as day even on this boat he wasn’t alone, something that calmed him.

He nearly didn’t realize they docked. Standing with his back to the inner support is the only reason he felt the stop. Even so he let the boat empty out first, this way not many got to see his hesitation when it came to crossing into the dock. He let his legs hit with a thud. He’d worry later about the details of travel for now he near bolted past the docks brushing past a few on the path over hardly looking at the group of people still hanging at the pier like stragglers. Still he couldn’t ignore the people he quite literally walked into. There goes the chance to save face.

They were odd. One had a full head of snakes and the other was heavily cloaked with an odd mask on. Just what country were they from. While the weather itself was cold, especially for someone like himself more used to the desert sun, he hardly thought such clothing was typical. Wait fuck he should be apologizing for speed walking into them.

“Sorry about that madams? I mean, I’ll be getting out of your way now I was just following a friend’s trail and… I’ll be leaving now.”

He moved to leave hoping to find more Amacensians yet the crowd had grown. He barely made enough movement from the two whom he would not be forgetting or missing judging by their odd attire. He scanned the area seeing more non-humans and non-Sila than he was ever used to. In fact quite a few looked far similar to Lady Justine, who by all rights was an oddity in their land.

Eliphas just where had you gone. He put back up his power focusing on the feeling of the others and trying to pick his friend out of the crowd. He felt the warmth and tried to figure out the best way to navigate this crowd without hitting someone again.

Novi averted her gaze, Tina didn’t. She found the eccentric boy’s returning stare amusing instead. Similar to being noticed by a strange animal when you have been watching them for a while. Cruelly though, like a wise man once said, if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss may spit its nasty saliva in your face, if the abyss is a mean llama. And the eccentric boy, wearing sunglasses and people for luggage, spat his wink at her. Of course not without tilting his sunglasses down, oh how it would have been less aggravating and less visible to her. The guy had the audacity to not only wink at her but also let her see his wink! How, just how could someone do that to her!? And also why? Why did he do that? Was he by any chance… flirting with her? Well, she had to admit, her charm and grace could be pretty irresistible... Oh but wait, what if he was winking at Novi instead? Damn girl, you’re so quiet you always attract the wrong crowd!

Her anger was interrupted when someone slammed into her from behind. Caught in the sudden event and her following colorful thought process, Tina had stopped dead in her track and probably blocked the guy’s way. The staggered girl directed her attention at the hurried man while regaining her balance, “Huh? No, it’s okay, I…” Then she remembered the foul mood she was in, that she was supposed to be angry, Tina yelled after the guy “Hey, you! Come back here and apologize to me properly!”. But he had already left with the little composures she had left.

“Arghhh!” The Gorgon cried out, her balling fist clenched the frustration tightly. The water, the ground… I have had enough! I will just fly there!”.

The girl bent down and put her right foot in front of her. To the cautious Novi one step away, she said “Take care not to let yourself fall behind, I expect to see you at the tower!” Then took a leap forward, nothing impressive, but once her left foot touched the ground, most of her weight vanished. The force enhanced with Ji sent her almost weightless body into the sky, toward the Central Tower.

What is a lady meant to do around these parts to get some proper respect? Tina pondered amidst the blowing winds as she glided down to her destination. The wind rushed harsher and the sun burned with no shade to hide from, but this empty sky put Tina at ease. She sighed a bit heavily, without knowing why. She was all alone, with no one around, no expectation, nothing to judge or be judged. Only the emptiness, nothing. And above all (quite literally), apart from the tall tower and the colorful balloons, everything, even the giants, was beneath her in their rightful place. She was almost envious of the Spectral people; the homey feeling in the burrows, also a feeling of solitude, is the only thing that could rival flying.

Just before the abrupt end of her Qin’s effect could give her a rough landing, Tina had touched the ground gracefully right before the gate. The snakes and her skirt nicely settled down to perfect her angelic image… Wait. Something had just dawned on her. With her emergency poker face, Tina stole a glance at the crowd behind her. No one saw, right? I don’t want blood on my hand on my first day here....

Ales
Central Tower

He had sensed it but chose to ignore it. Ixni's steps followed and he heard once or twice her faltering call. It was hard being a semi-giant, being both 'big' and tall. When walking alongside the average person, the regular human, adjustments had to be made and he'd long gotten used to such adjustments as a child the older he grew and the more the...differences, became noticeable when compared to smaller folk or person. Slower pacing, and eventually, looking down instead of up when it came to those outside of his adoptive family's species.

Not that his size really compared to the one ahead, the male giant with the coat. True Giants, they had to deal with so much more. Luckily Dukreus and its states had adjusted in time for every being of every shape and size. No matter the race or species; averaged for all.

That didn't mean he couldn't enjoy having Ixni chasing after him for just a few seconds as he evaded her calls.

Readjusting his precious Tainy luggage and giving her side an affectionate pat, ignoring any possible implications, and simply allowing his adjustment to brush it off as 'accidental grabbiness' (which was actually more accurate than one might expect), Ales felt yet another shift, a breeze-- then looked up.

Everything slowed to a halt, even though he kept walking towards the Tower's gates, time seemed to slow as he watched one girl soar like a majestic eagle through the air above then past him. The breeze tugged at her hair, gently carrying her away like a ballerina with wings, and the wind as she flew by tugged at her clothes, cloak...and skirt. Playfully tugging at the Hushuran's attire till finally- she landed and from the brief tension in her muscles, the sudden stiffness of her posture that quickly melted away as she glanced back to any prying eyes, Ales knew she'd realized her blunder.

And so he decided to do something awful, he made eye contact by staring right at her. He peered through his mirror reflective lenses, looking stunned, almost even surprised as he stared at the Gorgon who'd just allowed him, and possibly those paying attention to their surroundings, a chance to share an awkward moment with her. A moment Ales would be sure to use in the future if it ever required bringing up. This would no doubt be the beginning of a bond, probably not a good one, but a bond of some sort nonetheless.

What this new bond would bring to the table, remained to be seen.

Staring at the Gorgon, blinking slowly, Ales closed his mouth carefully. He licked his lips in a faux act of nervousness, then he turned to look back- seeing her masked companion and a fellow whom he'd seen with the Amacensian group rushing forward. Glancing briefly between the male rushing ahead and the masked female companion, Ales shared his somewhat surprised expression with the two of them. As if asking in morse code: Did you see what I just saw? however, being distracted came with a cost and so his attention was jarred when he got jabbed in the side. Turning his gaze away from the masked human female and Amacensian male to Ixni, Ales glanced back the Gorgon's way once and only once, showing no sign of smugness as he did so.

Could he have shown smugness and waggled his smexy brows at her? Could he have shot the Gorgon a saucey smouldering grin of unashamed lascivity for such an unintentional, tantalizing display of audacity? Yes. Yes he could. There was nothing stopping him. He'd passed by roads and seen people do similar to a woman wearing a skirt that got hit with an unfortunate strong breeze. He could've winked at her masked companion even when he saw what he saw, whistled a sly catcall, but he didn't. It was wrong. He knew it was wrong. So he remained silent as he cast a knowing glance towards the Gorgon for one last time in this brief moment of shared silence. All she could see was his brows raised before he turned his attention to Ixni and then pretended like what he'd seen had never happened and the Gorgon didn't exist.

Saying "sorry" had crossed his mind, but Ales knew there was no point. It had been an accident, and he hoped she would understand.

"Ixni!" He said wiping away his surprise that she may have missed with a smile. Clearing his throat once, Ales beamed at the Amyr. "I would never run away from you my dear." He said in affectionate tones. Seeing her attention elsewhere however, he decided to introduce his luggage and backpack. "Ah, yes you have not met. This is Tai Hen", he said with a slight gesture to the young woman snuggled under his arm, "and this is Ryuuse Wyvermore", he finished, pointing a thumb at the blue haired Amyr on his back. "The person you see here is Ixni." Ales explained. "She is an old and dear friend. We knew each other before I joined Alpha's Celestial Spear Program."

Glancing back to the tower, and visibly ignoring the Gorgon now as if he were staring past her, Ales turned back to Ixni and said: "Come, let us go. You three may get to know each other as we head inside." Not waiting for either Ryuu or Tai to say anything, Ales turned away and ushered Ixni to follow with a come-hither motion of his hand. WIth but a minute to lose, he entered the Tower, then proceeded to let Tai Hen go, and tap Ryuu as a sign for him to step down.

Despite his height advantage over the majority of the current attendance, Ragnar could still fully hear the bulk of most conversations occuring nearby. Most of what was being said was to be expected, the chatter between 'already' acquainted individuals discussing their excitement, the various sights around them causing a few 'oohs and ahhs' and even some people commenting on a few of the more 'standout' individuals that were walking towards the same destination. Judging by the apparent age range of the people Ragnar had seen thus far, it seemed perfectly normal that many of them would have already known one another from before; the likelihood being that they had attended their countries respective Qin Program and met there.

You had the stand out 'popular ones', the shaded fella already attracting the eye of several others, so much so that one of them had already clamoured all over his back with another chasing after him. Hopefully the success this lad had with the opposite gender didn't fuel his ego. The last thing Ragnar would have wanted on a mission was to have this 'hottie' be distracted by one of his entourage.

The next bunch of chatterboxes were those that seemed more then willing to acquaint themselves with strangers; a few of the guys and girls already walking over towards those that stood out to them for whatever reason, whether it be the white haired man who had already showcased his teleportation ability, the latter garnering the attention of a feline Sila, a reptilian Sila and a young girl. Their choice of topic aside, it was apparent that this had been the first time a few of them had met one another and whilst it was probably ideal for these complete strangers to intermingle with one another as soon as possible, Ragnar himself strongly felt that getting inside Central tower was the priority, considering the earlier warning. There would be time for them to introduce themselves to one another at a later date.

That being said, the feeling that he himself was being stared at could not be ignored. Doing his best to do it subtlety, Ragnar quickly swivelled his head to either side of himself, glancing behind with his peripheral vision to see if anyone immediately stood out at him. Had he been shorter, he may have noticed the hooded figure quickly hide their face once again. Instead, what he saw was a white haired gorgon girl floating towards the ground. her fluttering skirt leaving very little to the imagination as half a dozen men below and several woman all reacted to the sight before them, majority of whom had blushed at the sight.

Ragner, remained stoic however. All things considering, she was not the right size to get his libido going.

Dock Walks > Tina @ The Central Tower

    I

Novian hardly noticed the man flirting with her companion, her mind dulled and focused in tunnel vision of the sorts of moving forward. The beat of her steps following a rhythmic pattern until Her trance was broken by a dull thud knocking her forward. She turned around to meet the aggressor but just found a human who seemed to be in a huge amount of hurry. She wondered What could be so important than to be in more of a hurry than anyone else and kept her eyes locked on him. It would have been a good chain of thought to continue down but she would have plenty of time to stare at people through the safety of her mask later. For now, she was focused on getting to the center tower. With a quick pivot to see how her companion was doing, Novian found herself watching as Tina was getting increasingly angrier, then she began to talk of flying. Even Novi knew that in that skirt it was practically social suicide! Every eye within a quarter mile would be staring.

The masked girl tried stopping her, reaching out from her cloak and grabbing at the fuming girls arm.
"No wait don't..." Yet a second too late, she was already off. "do....That" She was stunned at the display that she had performed, and not just the flying but being right behind her and all with a skirt as she flew off. The back-draft of the wind blew through her cloak own and moved it around a bit around her body, making quite the draft. It was necessitated with how flush her companions' blatantly improper behavior! Not to mention yours truly is with her and they are in public. People are so superficial to make assumptions and... well

    .

    .

    .

Why do I think this is about me- how could I let myself get so selfish.

As damaging as it would be for herself; she wasn't the one flying through the air with a skirt. Novi felt Tina lacked her friend to make sure she didn't die from embarrassment; even if she hardly thought such a thing possible, the idea couldn't hurt. The cloaked figure began running after the flying gorgon in an attempt to keep up, the crowd of people hardly moving due to her lack of mass only prolonged how long it took her to get there. Her cloak caught the wind and pulled the hood down, and the lower flaps moved behind her legs as she broke into a sprint to catch up. With deep breaths, she reached the gorgon looking away from the crowd.

Her breath hardly caught up with her voice as she approached Tina. Swallowing her spit a few times and getting a few exhausted breaths through her mask before noticing her hood wasn't on. If the running hadn't made red hot with work, the embarrassment sure would have as she reached two hands out of her cloak to conceal the flower dotted hair, dyed blue from its a normal dull brown. With a few more steps forward she leaned into Tina and wrapping her own hand with Tina's. Something she rarely managed, if at all.

"Come on. Let's keep going- Nobody was really looking"

Her words were soft spoken & a lie- she had seen others stares as she canted her head back and took a quick scan of the people behind them. Nearly every single one was giving a good look at the pair, yet she didn't much care. She didn't want to leave her friend to dry.

When her name was mentioned by the stranger, Rina remained unfazed and acknowledged it with a polite smile. She was used to it. With her fame and number of fans rising, the number of people who knew her before she introduced herself also faced a rise, especially for the last few years. She, however, didn't expect what came after. The name Corossa DeSangre caused Rina to raise an eyebrow.

Corossa DeSangre, as in Laia Guerrero's favourite apprentice? Her intuition was correct about Slayers were interesting! The lack of drug dealers was disappointing, but Rina was also relieved inwardly. At least her friends wouldn't be dubious morally. Right? (She would know how wrong she was later)

A voice suddenly exclaimed near her ear before Rina could answer Corossa's polite introduction. Rina moved away while covering her left ear, a slight crease appearing on her forehead. The voice was Rune's, an acquaintance from her time in Crystal Elysion. Still trying to remove the ringing from her sensitive ear, she grumbled as an answer to Rune's exchange.

"Who's the celebrity here? Rune, this is Corossa DeSangre, the only one there is."

She pronounced Rune like plume and not with a hard E. Rina turned to Corossa.

"As you've already know, my name is Rina. Feel free to call me Rina in the future."

The only one whose identity she had yet to know was the Cat Sila named Renoult. Her eyes turned toward him and she slightly tilted her head, waiting for him to answer Rune's question.

While she was on her way to recover from her snickering, Tai felt herself being lifted off the ground. "Wah!?" Too late to react, she found herself in Aleś arms. If she didn't have her head in the clouds before, she certainly did now, and in the worst possible way. She squirmed in a desperate bid to escape, even resorting to tickling her captor, before giving up with a huff of indignation.

On this day, she recieved a grim reminder. She lived in the shadow of giants, and was disgraced to be carried about like luggage by those she once trusted as comrades. First her ears, and now this. The scoundrel was hellbent on chipping away her dignity as an elf, or what was left of it. Still, she looked at the bright side as was customary of her. In the end, she concluded that at least she got a free ride on the Aleś express.

A situation could never truly be bad so long as she found the silver lining. With the silver lining found, her only gripe was the lack of a saddle and terrible customer service. "So, you come here often? I hear the view's pretty great up here." She said to Aleś, adding in (her best attempt at) a charming wink. There was always time for teasing.

With little else to do, and their positions now roughly tai'd, she finally decided to peek a glance at the flubber on Aleś back. The answer was no. Averting her attention to the exotic distractions around her, such as the flying gorgon girl, she decided to simply enjoy the ride for what it was. The sights were nice indeed, she noted with a satisfied smile.

Despite Aleś previous transgressions, she would've easily forgiven him. She understood it was all fun and games in the end, even if it involved her being luggage for pseudo giant. Then, while her captor was readjusting his grip on her, she felt a hand on her no man's land, an act which unfortunately caused her to miss a petrifying rear view. "Yo, where the fu- I mean, watch where you put your hands, bud!" She resisted the urge to slap him. The shades were nice, and she didn't want to break something she could borrow later.

Just as she was about to pluck them off his face, Horny showed up. She gave her a little wave, admiring the horny lizard girl's horns, and would've spoken if not Aleś' sudden haste. Breathing a sigh of relief when Aleś finally let her down, she brushed herself off and began walking briskly to the tower, making an effort to hide her reddened face.

RenoHah. I’ve heard that a lot. I ain’t the Revolver, man.” Technically speaking, he wasn't. He wasn't the same person that he was from a few years ago. He wasn't the Revolver Tiger any more. Just a moniker from an age long past. It was just Reno the Stray now. Nowhere to go, nowhere to be, clawing his way to somewhere he didn't even know. “Most Sila tend to look the same after a while,” he said wistfully without much thought into his words. He let his words disappear into the wind as he watched Cor interact with the two other Marvuelans. The blonde young miss looked familiar, almost heartstrings-tuggingly so. Something about her appearance spoke to him, like he had seen her somewhere before, but was so far from his reach, like a divine being appearing in a dream. Just…who was she? As he searched through his memory, Cor finally came up with her name.

Rina. Huh. Rina Rubare. Riiina Rubare…” Reno folded his arms and repeated the name, deep in thought. There was a second of silence from the feline Sila, before he snapped his fingers in recognition. “Ah! The moonlit angelic diva! THE Rina Rubare!” Without almost a second thought, the fanboy in Reno’s heart leapt forwards, clutching her hand and shaking it vigorously. “Oh gosh! I’d never thought I’d meet a prodigy like yourself in my entire life! And a musical prodigy at that! I’ve listened to all your songs, been to nearly every stage performance, and they’re, in one word, amazing! Dude, you’ve gotta make more of ‘em! Whoa, gimme a sec.” He released her hand and dug into his bag, and pulled out a small leather-bound notebook. He flipped through the first few pages, each of them covered with a signature of some kind. With another hand, he extracted a pen seemingly out of nowhere and placed it in the middle of the book. He cleared his throat, then bowed down low and offered the book to her. “Please! I need an autograph from you, ma’am! I cannot understate enough how honored I am to be graced with your divine presence! Your songs, your powerful voice that carries across the crowds housed within your lithe, angelic form, your prodigious skill with music! I am not worthy!

There was a perfectly orchestrated beat of silence, a hallmark of a comedian's delivery.

Reno straightened up, grinning. “Just kidding.” He took a moment to reconsider, then retracted his words. “Not about the whole angelic thing, or your voice, or your skill, or that you should have had more shows, or that I really do want an autograph, though! I really think you’re really beautiful and you’re a right wonderful musician. I was just kidding about--” he waved his hands about, postulating, then gave up, “y’know what, forget it. Can I have your autograph, Ms. Rubare?” he asked once more, this time much more normally, handing the book over to her.

He turned to the other Sila in their conversation. He was a reptilian Sila, but possessed notably more human in his features than Reno himself was. “Heya there, pal. Rune?” he followed after Ms. Rubare’s lead, “Mind if I call you Rune? I’m Reno.” He scratched his chin in thought. “Wow, that’s a lot of Rs here, huh. Reno, Rina, and Rune. Maybe we should call you Rossa, Cor. That makes four!” Reno laughed.
