A thousand years ago the lands between West and East rose up higher than mountains in tall spires. The surviving populace first made their recovery on the edges of their crippled land where it was flattest. Travelers would take a few months to cross it. They had to go North at the ‘narrowest’ point between the two coasts by hiring guards to show them the winding way through and around the towers of rock.___________________________________________________________________________________

A new age dawned of steam, of coal, of electricity, and airships revolutionized travel and trade. A fast airship could cross the widest point in less than a month, opening trade with the South like never before. Storms and the like may derail or delay, but the small refueling and stock towns made it possible for rest and repair.
The lives of the people who reside in those towns rely on these ships. Every day of work is one more paycheck closer to their dreams, be it right in the heart of their home or beyond the vast pillars of rock to a world small town kid only dreams about.
