Mankind was born into a world seemingly unfit for them. Remnant is inhabited by monstrous creatures known as Grimm. They actively sought to destroy humanity and due to their fierce speed and strength it seemed they would succeed. Until one faithful day when humanity discovered Dust. Which helped repel the Grimm and allowed mankind to establish several kingdoms that served to protect its citizens from Grimm.

Of course dust alone isn't enough to maintain constant peace and people are required to take out any Grimm who may pose a threat to any of the kingdoms. This is where hunters come in. They are people trained from a young age who devote their lives to fighting Grimm and the well-being of their respective kingdoms.

You've been one of the lucky few selected to attend beacon academy this year. An academy designed to train up-and-coming students into becoming full-fledged hunters. Unfortunately however it won't be too easy. It's still at least 4 years until you can become a true hunter and before that lies hundreds of challenges that will test you and your teams capabilities.

Sweet! looks like we've got our group of four already. I updated my first post with the general basis of RWBY (in case any of you hasn't watched the show). Anyway, I've got a few questions to ask before I fully kick things off.

1. Would you prefer it be casual or detailed (Shorter but more frequent posts, versus longer and more spread out)

2. Should we stick to the original "Color naming rule"? It could be fun and would stick to the flavor of the original, but I could understand if coming up with a team acronym might be a little annoying.

3. Has anyone here not watched RWBY? While I'd heavily recommend it to anyone who has I don't mind explaining the basis of the story as we go on. If everyone has watched it though It would make my life a little easier.

Also, I'm still open to more people. I wouldn't mind hosting another group of four if more people want to join.

*drops to knees* PLEASE! PLEASE I BEG OF YOU! RWBY IS MY LIFE! (if my name and profile picture hasn't told you that already) I MUST BE A PART OF THIS.

While I do tend to prefer more details I can work with a quicker style if the majority of the others similarly want casual.

I'd like to stick with the original naming scheme. Heck I've already got a name for my OC: Alani Koh-tom.

I've watched the show and am familiar with the world and its lore.

I am interested. Now to choose a character.....

I like fast posting for dialogue and combat. Longer post with detail can come depending on the situation.

@Bullet Tooth Tony @Theknight9 @Nooguy

Well we only need one more person for our second group, so I'll post up the thread later today. Once I do everyone can go make their characters while we wait for our last member.

As far as the questions go, it seems everyone is fine with following the color rule and I'll keep the format casual (3-5 sentences minimum).

I have a question. Can I have a Faunus that is secretly still working with the White Fang? (If not can my character still be a plain old Faunud?)

I'd be on board (if you'd rather not take on anyone else, I understand). Also, I'd be careful with this RP, as someone who's attempted a RWBY RP twice, it is not easy

@Enkye Great, then you'll be the 8th and final person. Nice timing!

@RedLikeRoses You could be a covert member of the white fang. The story takes place a few years before RWBY, so they wouldn't be quite as radical as in the show. They would primarily be trying to conduct espionage and recruit more members.

@Deadkool We might be able to squeeze you in if you'd like to play something that wasn't a student. Perhaps a teacher or something? Also, if you mind me asking, what exactly when wrong the last two times you tried?

Too many people, too many people wanted the glory, too many people signed up, then didn't post anything, too many people wanted to control the story or the interactions. My first RWBY RP, I was almost coup d'etat out of my GM position.

As long as all of us understand we have our roles and character limits it's going to be fine. Just hope that the GM doesn't make it too boring xD

Then we'd best be careful with our characters' abilities and weapons. Maybe we should have to include two considerable weaknesses with our character bios?

I already have a character outline made. I used the same character sketch in another rp, but it works for RWBY lore as well. Weaknesses and realistic character traits are always of my top priority.
I agree, thats always the worst part.

Lets make them now. It seems it will be difficult later on.
