No objections on my end, either - we can always raise a mutiny, after all. Not quite sure if my Praxian concept would work out right now, I've got a few things I need to think about - more news on that later, hopefully.

Alrighty - after stumbling across another website that happens to give a bit more background on the Praxians, I am mostly convinced that I found something of interest. Thus, the following rolls.

Edit: Simple division of responsibilities - you do the fighting, I'll look good and run when that's not good enough. Made the reqirements for the OCC, though, so that's good :)

Short question: The cyclone rider occ only mentions the Alpha as an option in the text, but has the Beta listed further down under other skills - am I right to assume that I can, indeed, pick the Beta?

It sounds like I'm the only one in an Alpha then, with two Betas. Either we should have our NPC flying a Alpha, or I can switch my Veritech choice to a Beta also. That way we can either be two pairs of jets, or all of us have the same kind of fighter.

Thoughts from our Glorious Storyteller? What would you prefer?

It is always what you prefer as the player, of course. That said, I planned on filling the team out with NPCs that would fly whatever was needed.

So please, keep whatever you’d like to fly.

Fair enough. I'll stick with the Alpha. If I need to get somewhere quick, I'll just dock on with one of our Betas and let them be the booster.

Thanks for the question, meant to post here soonish because of that. Since quite a few things seem to have changed between editions, I spent yesterday trying to get my hands on a copy of the 2e book Sherwood mentioned - for whatever reason, there doesn't seem to be a single one on the market, though. My local store doesn't have Palladium in general, but the usual online retailers etc seem to not have it, either... any idea why that might be the case?

Yeah. It’s out of print. And Palladium lost the Robotech license. So, those books are done. Unfortunately.

I read about the license thing, but thought it'd be still available somewhere - damn.

If you trust me with your email, I can put my PDFs on Dropbox and share them with you.

Yeah, that’s probably the best way. I just bought a used physical copy last night. You can find those on eBay pretty well.

If you're willing to share them, I'd be inclined to take you up on that offer - that'd let us actually begin the rp while I dig through the internet to get my own copy.

Alrighty - a new set of rolls to account for the changes, I'll probably have a character up later today.

Edit: Well, crap. My intention was to grab the military specialist, but I'm not even close to the me requirement. Thus, I shall reconsider my options.

There is lots of other good stuff out there to look at, though. We don't have a communications specialist yet. Maybe you can take that mantle.

Just a short update on the progress: there are way too many options, and I'm failing to make a choice at the moment. At the moment, I'm leaning towards occ's that bring a bit of scientific knowledge with them (technical officer, fleet corpsman) while also having the basic storm training to allow for a Praxian interpretation of those roles. Haven't quite figured out the best way to do that while coming up with an actually interesting character...

Okay. I like the direction you’re heading in, though. I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Let me know if there are any rulings you need or anything.

Question to those who are more familiar with the books - is there some note about native tongues of alien species? I'd personally expect there to be some sort of "every character can speak the respective mother tongue", but I can't find anything like that. Just asking because at the moment, I only have one secondary skill slot open for that, so I couldn't pick literacy simultaneously.

I don’t think so! I don’t think I’ve ever seen it, or if I have, I haven’t noticed/remembered. I don’t think the show ever dealt with any of that, so my guess is Palladium never dealt with it.

Unless, I just missed it.

I do know that there is a specific differentiation between English and Zentraedi in their written and spoken language. I just generally assume that once you join the UEEF you are taught how to communicate with the humans of the fleet, but you will still have your own native lingo.

That's what I would assume as well, thus the question if it's actually the case. The Praxian Warrior OCC has both language and literacy "Praxian" amongst its OCC skills, but the RCC I'm using doesn't have it - which feels weird, but I can't find anything that'd say otherwise.
