Raise The Aquila
Hail Legionaries,

Today we embark on a conquest that not even the great Ceasar has accomplished. The land of Britannia is wild and full of mystery, we are the vanguard, we will bring order to these shores and we will bring honor and glory to Rome. Legio XXIII Italia forward onto glory!

Alright, everyone, the story will follow the Legio XXIII more specifically the 3rd Cohort, 10th century. The story takes place in 25 BC the only invasion that Augustus sent to Britain due to revolts that sprung up in the Empire. This will be more of an Alternate history, there was an invasion at the time, however, the legion is made up to allow a bit more freedom. The story will follow the legion and specifically the century as they go on this campaign.

The legion was ordered by Emperor Augustus to go to Britain and establish a foothold and bring it under Roman rule. This will be the only legion in the roleplay as such they will essentially be on their own as soon as they step foot on the island. They are acting as the advanced party, the success or failure will rest on the player's actions. As the campaign progresses or we get more people there will be opening for other centuries or if that is popular demand.

Open Positions
Centurion
Signifier- Each century had a signifer, he was standard-bearer for the centurial signum, a spear shaft decorated with medallions and topped with an open hand to signify loyalty, which was a rallying point for the soldiers. In addition to carrying the signum, the signifer also assumed responsibility for the financial administration of the unit and functioned as the legionaries' banker.
Cornicen - (Horn blower): Worked hand in hand with the signifer drawing the attention of the men to the centurial signum and issuing the audible commands of the officers.
Optio - One for each centurion, they were appointed by the centurion from within the ranks to act as his second in command.
Tesserarius - (Guard commander) One for each century. They acted as seconds to the Optios. Keeper of the watchword, administrative assistant to HQ Staff, third in command of a century. These men fought as normal soldiers when the century they were attached to was not in the vanguard.
Legionary - the general soldier in the century.
