I think I'm going to set the time to one year before them. So Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, are all in the Academy. Lee, Neji and Tenten would be rookie Genin. Or I may just replace the canon genin with our characters.
It's a tough balance to have. Theres only so much room for leaf Genin before it's just ridiculous lol.
