Fantasy Overworld: Underworld's Reform (Sign Ups)

Endless Thundaza

Thunderboi
Long ago, after a bloody and tiresome war, the world was divided into two; The Overworld, and The World Below. The World Below was for the humans, and the Overworld was for the Fey. A magical barrier was created, a shrine build around it, and a single rule was erected; never cross the barrier to the world below. As centuries passed, humans forgot about the world above and lived their mortal lives. Fey and others would remember the war, but remain wary of the one rule. Thus, the peace followed, and each world would remain ignorant of each other in bliss.

Until the rule was broken.

Three Fey would break the rule and cross the barrier into the world below, and from then the events unfurled into a new age of existence. Humans learned of magic once more, and sought out to use it to save their dying world along with human supporters, and in turn the Fey fought to keep the humans out of their world. War was waged, rulers were slayed, fates were changed. In the very end, Humans and Fey would work together to take down a threat to both their worlds, and peace was achieved. The barrier was broken, and unions were created as Humans and Fey would co-exist once again.

Now a decade has passed. Humans and Fey have learned to live together, traditions and life experiences interweaving for generations to come, creating a new way of life for everyone. The current ruler of the Fey has begun proper proceedings to form a formal union between the Kingdom of Sodon and the Kingdom of Arcanum.

Character Sheet Example

Name: King Jynn Venas

Age: 2005

Race: Fey/Eidolon

Appearance: (Working on it)

Magic: Jynn has mastery over the power of lightning, and has proven to be incredibly versatile with it. He even has the power to wield black thunder, an extremely powerful form of his magic. He also has the ability to manipulate aura into a weapon. Though he is a late bloomer, Jynn has finally inherited his mother's ice magic, which he continues to experiment with to this day.

Weapon(s):
MH4-Long_Sword_Render_005.png
A sword forged from the parts of a dragon Jynn slayed in his youth. It has the ability to control dragon element.

Personality: For the most part, Jynn is a docile individual, trying his best to get along with anyone he meets. Despite being king, Jynn does not like letting others do his work without his direct involvement, always wanting to be in on the action. He also will do anything to keep the inhabitants of Arcanum, and even the world below, safe and happy, especially his family and friends.

Bio: Jynn is the son of the late Queen Shiva and Odin, and the current king of Arcanum. He was single handedly raised by Shiva, but had no knowledge of his father's identity until just before he was coronated. As a young adult, his favorite pastime was slaying fearsome beasts and even dragons, but Shiva was not the biggest fan of Jynn putting himself in such risks. But during Shiva's later years of her rule, Jynn started to question her treatment to the humans who, one day, passed through a barrier separating the World Below, and Arcanum. After mourning his mother's passing, he allied with fellow fey and the humans to help defeat a great evil and finally destroying the barrier that separated the two worlds. Jynn was shortly crowned king of Arcanum. During the past decade, Jynn has gained quite a favorable reputation over the previous rulers, even from the humans who know him.

Name: Jari Coriander

Age: 43, appears 31.

Race: Kitsune (physical prowess), previously a foxchild

Appearance: Once a shapeshifter who preferred to transform into a lanky young black-haired youth ten years ago, Jari back then had embraced the other side of his race's bifurcated lineage through the most difficult trial of his life and became something else, something different. His shapeshifter powers evaporated, turning him into not a foxchild but a kitsune like his northern cousins. Now Jari takes on his original appearance -- brown-haired, snub-nosed, green-eyed, and shorter than he once was -- and the years have been kind to him as he now brandishes three tails, a testament according to his kind of the gained wisdom he accumulated as he lived, and power where he previously was physically weak. He wears thick furs to protect himself from the frigid airs of the Northern continents, which he peels back or stuffs in a backpack when warmer temperatures are prevalent. His cloth garments beneath his snow gear are loose on his body and allow full freedom of movement when unhindered by heavier clothing.

Magic (If Any):

Hysterical Might (1st tail) -- able to provide up to four times stronger than average strength, with the drawback of sixteen times the energy consumption and metabolism while active.
Imitable Eye (2nd tail) -- the ability to match the speed and strength of someone he sees, or to allow someone to match the speed and strength of him (can be forced but pulls out a deeper draught of power),
Energy Flow (3rd tail) -- the ability to allow energy to flow from him to another sentient creature, repairing and refueling the body and strengthening the body's stores of energy. The larger the body, the tougher it is to provide energy.

Weapon(s): Alastor's hunter's knife, a lightning-imbued blade that is slowly being replaced by his own imbuements of stockpiled energy and hysterical strength. Provides a stockpile of energy when held that can be drawn from the depths of the blade by the sweep of a hand over the flat part of the blade. While the knife is not as sharp as before, Jari's imbued hysterical strength allows it to cut throgh armour just as effectively, if not more so. The strength weakens with each strike, however, until refilled.

Personality: Once cowardly and feeling impotent, ever wishing to have the strength to protect himself and his friends, Jari now has a sensation of accomplishment and bravado that nothing yet can rip from him. He is still a somewhat gentle soul, but when in a difficult spot sometimes his strength gets an edge on him, and he is not as soft and kind as he wishes to be. He loves learning about people and has developed as a teacher, providing the tools needed to aid young students to mastery of themselves. He knows his faults and wishes to conquer them through indomitable will, but he still has the craving to love and be loved, and this sets him farther from his goals as he seeks it out. This dichotomy weighs heavily on him, as he cannot seem to pick one and discard the other.

Bio: Son of two foxchildren and raised in the depths of The Hollow in Mystras, a den where foxchildren flourished and lived, Jari took on the life of a spy, utilising his talents for shapeshifting to listen in to very interesting or important information and deliver it to the Lord of Mystras, Raiden. Over time he found that he hated his life of secrecy, and the Lord found out, siccing his right hand Alastor to either silence him or scare him into submission. Alastor gave him mercy, and in the end Jari accompanied Jynn's small party, developing a fondness toward two people he very much considered friends, Morana the wendigo and Elia the fairy. Morana died in a battle between Raiden and Shiva, killed by a human, and heartbroken he went back home to Mystras to seek out his and every foxchild's "Granpappy," the oldest and wisest among them for receiving a blessing few foxchildren accept bodily or mentally and never fully divulge. This blessing was a Ritual of Trade, an exchange of all he knew and had for being almost completely different, and unknowingly like his cousins in the North: a kitsune capable of different things than shapeshifting. He does not miss his innate cowardly behavior since he was a foxchild, but he does miss the people he knew when he headed north and found that the war was over. He resided up in the northern continent for a time, but upon receiving the news of King Jynn's envoyship to the World Below he hoped to meet some of the people that helped him become who he was.

Name: Helios Silverstrider
Age: 324
Race: Spriggan-Fey
Appearance:
GrownHelios.png
Magic:
  • Animalis Shapeshifting - He is capable of transforming and shapeshifting into any animal or animalistic creature. With this, he is also able to communicate with said animals.
  • Chimeric Shapeshifting - He is capable of applying characteristics of one animal onto another in his transformation. (add wings to a wolf, for example). However such ability is very energy consuming, and straining on the body and mind.
Weapon(s): N/A
Personality: Calm, friendly and passionate. He values the life of all beings, from the smallest to the largest. He understands the cycle of life, but refuses to take the life of anything and anyone under senseless circumstances. (Including at war) He is always happy to provide aid to those who require it. He is usually seen to be calm, patient and collected, and willing to hear all sides of a mater before making a decision and always giving the benefit of the doubt. As a friend and ally he will love you until the ends of time, and will come to your aid. He detests the sight of needles and other sharp medical instruments (bordering on Trypanophobia), and will actively avoid having to witness such. He dislikes being alone, and does not do well long term in closed spaces.
Bio: Born to a Fey Mother and a Spriggan father, he was an adventurer at heart. Whether it was his abilities, or the spriggan blood within him, he felt a connection to the nature around him, pushing him to venture in the wilds for years at a time. In those times he would learn creatures and their lives, and live among them with his shapeshifting abilities, becoming intimate with the details of how predator and prey alike lived in a world where magic was common. At one point in his life his mother would bring him to the capital in order to have him interact with more Fey. There he would meet his two best friends, Arianna and Ren. The three would become inspirable for years to come. Eventually they discovered the truth beyond the barrier, that there was a whole new world to explore below. This intrigued the three young Fey, and at the thought of a whole new world full of wonder, they would break the sacred rule and escape to the world below.

It went fine for the first few years, where they would travel, explore, help people, show off their skills and magic. It was the time of their lives. It all changed when the king of the Kingdom of Sodon invited them over, however. Whether it was benign at first, they soon discovered that the king had plans to use them for his own endeavors, and the three would plan their escape. The king had magical help of his own, and in the end only Ren managed to escape, Arianna and Helios left behind to become the source of the king's experiments. They were studied, tortured, and used as fuel for many kinds of experiments. Arianna did not survive after a particularly strong experiment, leaving Helios behind to suffer alone for years.

Through and after the events of Overworld, he has come to terms with his survivor's guilt and trauma at the hands of the humans. He has found a new purpose in the world he was born into, and has decided to work hard to make sure that the tale of his friends is never forgotten for the sake of the future generations to come.

Name: Arthur Gancelot
Age: 32
Race: Human-Fey Hybrid (75% Human 25% Fey)
Appearance:
unknown.png
Magic: N/A
Weapon(s):
  • Elektra Sword (Enhanced with lightning manipulation runes)
  • Sodon Shield (Enchanted with anti-magic resistance)
Personality: Cheerful, Grounded, Head-strong. Once he has set his mind on something, he isn't easily deterred. He is confident in who he is, and what he fights for. He is a hands on person who will go out of his way to provide aid for someone, regardless how small or big the task is. He gets easily excited, but has learned to keep himself composed and not show it outwardly. He is known for being blunt when it comes to explaining how things are, albeit this is not always a bad thing. To his friends, families and allies he will go beyond the call of duty in order to serve them and keep them safe and happy. Arthur is a person that sees potential regardless of first impressions or outwardly appearances, always willing to give people a chance to prove themselves.
Bio: Son of an electric themed Fey and a human, he is a Human-Fey hybrid. His father kept his true identity a secret. When he accidentally demonstrated his abilities, he feared that his family would be punished for hoarding a Fey, and thus left them in hopes that they would be left alone. On his absence, he was declared as a traitor and a deserter, shattering the family. Arthur trained from very young to become a knight and earn his right, and bring back his family from the depth that his father's actions had brought them. (He only discovered of the truth at the end of the war.) He fought in the war under King Alderon in order to find a cure for princess Athena, who he had fallen head over heels for in his time serving under the royal family. During the war, and after, he discovered some truths, and came to terms over some changes that he had to make for himself should he be capable of surviving in this world. The war opened his mind and eyes to the grey morality that exists, and that there is not always a right or wrong.

Over a decade has passed, and his love for Athena has never faded, and he adores her more than the world itself. He has become a well liked and capable leader figure, furthering his knightly career and service.

Name: Hadras (Hadraniel)
Age: 7254
Race: Angel Fey
Appearance:
Magic (If Any): Divine Spears, Divine Shield, Divine Bow, lay on Hands (healing and curative), Feather Cloak (he can hide his wings)
Weapon(s): A Spear and Shield he can summon. Though he also carries a knife.
Personality: Hadras holds a rustic personality. He is quiet and listens to others, however his ideals are dated and he refuses to trust that the humans are safe to be around. He wants things to go back to the way they were. They were better when the worlds were seperate.

Bio: Hadraniel was brought fourth many ages ago. He was slow and quiet in his youth, but time is an excellent teacher. His faith In the Overworld and its gods grew unwavering. He viewed the world ins signs. His eyes dictating what the gods would tell him to do. He was faithful.

He lacked proper social skills for most of his life. Sound and touch and conversation. They were irritating to him. Sometimes overwhelming. He prefered to stay his distance and press on with his hobby, gardening. Particularly the gardening of very specifically rare plants dangerous plants. Flowers laced with poison. Beautiful, but deadly. His favorite being the gentle Angel’s Trumpet. Named in the words of the divine, it was a nasty little thing. But no matter what, he loved them all the same.

time continued to pass and his gardens grew. He provided what aid he could to his fellows of the oF the overworld, but in the end he remained solitary. However this could not last.

As humans mobilized across the land they tore through his home, he did not know why, but in the aftermath he found his lifes work broken. His gardens gone in an instant. His peace destroyed like the village around him. He would mobilize himself and move to the side of Queen Shiva. He would fight to push out the humans.

As he fought, his senses would be overwhelmed even further. He would see only red, he would find himself confused as his white cloth was stained the very color that filled his eyes. His Ire finally drawn out after many many years. His fury stopped when a certain death occured. For the moment he heard such news. He felt empty again and eventually, he simply went home. To his little church and his little home with his little garden in his little village.

He still hated The humans. He still hated the rulebreakers, he hated it all. He wanted everything to go back. That hate was only bolstered when he saw a singular flower growin his his garden upon his return. An Angels Trumpet. A tool of death. A sign from his gods.

By now he had some magical proficiency from his time in the war, he had a newly growing bounty of plants. His garden now expanding every season. The divines had a plan for the humans and he had to obey, he would send them back, no matter what the cost.

Name: Mariel (current alias Mari Leafborne)
Age (If your character is human, they will maintain a real world life expectancy): 3856 Years
Race: Angel
Appearance:
True Form
325d9b31d1b8dc475939bc5a33a3d4149409a3f8.jpg

Current Elf Guise
2fd347c82adc02f863638de11f960cee.jpg

Magic (If Any):
Light Magic
Sonic Scream, harmonics of which can disrupt magical illusions and disguises.
Healing Magic
Blood Magic
Minor transformation (can alter the appearance herself and her possessions. She looks like a member of another race such as human or elf, but she retains her facial features)
Heightened senses, including being able to detect magic use and fluctuations
Weapon(s): None.
Personality: Mariel spent most of her life as a protector, at first for the nobility of Overworld, then as roaming ranger hiding among the humans. Raised to be an honorable warrior with a deep empathy for people around her. Her path in life was recently completely derailed as her ability to control herself in battle has been lost to an ancient blood curse. With much of her identity tied up in being a warrior in defense of the weak, she has felt lost. With the path she found meaning and worth in denied her, she has been staving off despair as she attempts to find a new meaning to her life.
Bio: Mariel was once an Archon of the Guardian Angel legions. Her duty was to protect the innocence of the world. When war broke out between the Fey and Humans ages ago, She and other Guardian Angels went against orders to enter the fray to save lives. The Angelic Legions managed to hold off the humans as the connection between Overworld and the World Below was closed. The only survivor of the guardian angels, Mariel spent the next two thousand years to hiding among the humans. She came to know and respect the humans. When the boundary between the worlds came down once more, Mariel sought to find a way to bring peace between Fey and Humans. Returning to the Overworld brought her back into contact with old friends and old conflicts. As war broke out, and terrible magics were employed, Mariel sought to undo the harm to the world below. In the attempt to find the Source of Life to save the world below, she temporarily gave up her training and honor as a Guardian Angel, letting an ancient legacy lose. The Guardian Angels bore within them, locked away, the Sanguis Vindicta; blood magic meant to create the ultimate warrior of the hosts, but instead made a race of near mindless berserkers. Without her training to suppress the power, the Sanguis Vindicta boiled up within her, giving her the power of blood and fury for the final fight for not just the world below, but all the worlds. At the end, an armageddon was prevented with time magic, and she was freed from the blood magic...for a time. The casual brutality of common bandits caused the Sanguis Vindicta to resurface. After slaughtering the bandits, Mariel went into hiding, leaving her weapons behind. She has spent the past ten years struggling with her affliction. Born for battle and now denied it, she tries to find new ways to benefit the world. She has spent the last few years in a monastery attempting to find a path in pacifism and inner peace.

Name: Yrne Galadris "The Mote Born".

Age: 10 years

Race: Mote Born Angel

Appearance:
1624850658867.png

Magic:
- Healing magic: Yrne is young, but he is still able to channel the divine energy in his blood to heal and cure small wounds or ailments, albeit it is weak, as he is still a child.
- Light Energy Challenging: Capable of harnessing light as magic, for various uses and applications, mostly enhancing his body with higher strength and speed with light magic, he seems to have a talent in harnessing hard light and making constructs and small objects out of it as well.
- Metal Magic: Yrne has recently discovered the ability to harness magic through metal, being able to manipulate small metals to his liking with a touch, as well as infusing them with magic and or use them as a focus for his energy channeling.

Weapon(s):
Steel Wings - Yrne's Wings are unique in that he is able to freely harden them, encasing them in a metallic appearance akin to a strong metal, as of present it is mostly comparable in between Iron to Steel in terms of sharpness, hardness and toughness, his wings even through metallic, are lightweight and do not impede movement. Yrne is able to utilize them as weapons, and by ripping off feathers he is able to use them as swords. While it is there, it does not mean he is very skilled in utilizing them. He lacks training and battle experience to fully harness his powers.

Divine Dagger: An ornamental dagger given to Yrne by his "parental" figure, ornate gold design fitted with a red gem in the center of the hilt, the gem glows with a faint red hue whenever Yrne holds it.

Personality: Curious, Kind, Direct and humble. A Far cry from most of the angels, whom a lot like they're better than the other races like feys and humans, Yrne holds no such regards to those races. As a child he has no real sense of who is authority and who is not, he says what is on his mind but he is innately a kind kid who cares for those around him.

He is rather curious by nature, he has since left his home with the permission of his caretaker, in order to explore the world and learn from its inhabitants.

Bio:

Ten years ago when the Shrine of Isopolis sprung to life anew, when the culmination of multiple fates intertwined and clashed, the angels watched from a distance, curious but wary of what may happen, Isopolis had laid dormant for centuries, never had it lit up to such an extent as that day. And when the battle ended, and the source of all life enacted the wishes of the victors, a burst of power unknown was erected from the shrine, across the land and sky, it dissipated after some time...however one of the angel, by the name lf Galadris The Ever Light, approached the shrine against her brethren's wishes. When she appraoched she noticed one thing, a small fluctuation of magic in the air, however faint, it was still there. And it focused on a single spot in the nearby forest. Upon inspection Galadris found what seemed to be a mote...of pure light, faint, but it persevered where it should not have. Galadris felt something within that mote, and she touched it, upon touching it, she felt something...she felt memories of the past, memories of the war and the sacrifices necessary to get to where the world had gotten, in that distraction it took some of her divine essense or perhaps she instinctively gave it, some of her power and magic...and with them it burst with light, which when it dissipated left only a child in it's wake, sitting down under a tree. Clearly divine in nature but not entirely an angel in all aspects, a Mote born? Those were thought lost to time, never reported again. But there they were.

Taken by her maternal and kind personality, Galadris immediately took a liking to the boy, and has taken him under her wings to raise him as her own, for she always wishes to be a mother, but never had the luck of having children. It has been ten years since then, and the boy has been named Yrne Galadris, the boy shows exceptional potential in light magic and physical strength, as a young angel it is expected them to nurture powers that only come out when they reach maturity, however Yrne's talents emerged from much younger than usual for angels, albeit the mastery is not there, and the power is not very great, it is a great wonder that he has such power at such a young age regardless.

Galadris is famous even among her own kind, known for her prowess with weapons and light magic, she is something to be feared when in battle but when outside of it, she is kind and compassionate to her allies. She knows most of what transpired in the last few years, albeit she kept herself away on behest of her brethren, many angels wished not to interfere with the war, but many did anyway. Currently she has no real opinion on the affairs of the Humans and Fey, wishing to keep to herself, and to raise Yrne.
