Fantasy Of Nature, Salt, and Other Oddities - IC

Wayland

Wayland looked at Vanen. "Nah, I've got everything handled here." He wrapped his arm around the shoulders of one of the statues. Because of it, the statue fell over and cracked into pieces. Wayland looked at the stones. "Whoops."

The demons began to regroup. They carried people out of their homes and teleported away, hopefully with as little people detecting they were demons in the first place as possible. In several minutes, the town would be a desolate land, with half of its citizens gone, the other half dead, and only few remaining in hiding, too afraid to come out after the things they've witnessed.

The champion of Chaos left Daeden, teleporting away himself.

Lux climbed up on a small boulder to look at the town glowing orange with fire. They stepped back in fear and fell off the boulder, rolling down the hill towards the town that was being raided. They stood up shakily and ran into wherever was the nearest shelter, which happened to be a bush. Having no idea of what was going on, they curled up in a ball and made as little noise as possible.

(Sorry that this is all I've got for now)

Dawnsbury was in chaos. A foriegn army had somehow invaded, massacreing all of the people in town. Vosamore had originally tried to kill some of these soldiers who strayed too far from the main group, but that made an insignificant dent in the army's numbers. He instead ran to a point far away from the attack and gathered up a large group of townsfolk. "There is nowhere to run. The army seems to have a solid lock on Dawnsbury and are killing anybody who tries to run, come with me." Vosamore lead the group of 30 or so citezens he could find to a building Mouse-O had scouted out that had a trap door leading into a cellar. Everyone but Mouse-O and Vosamore gathered into the darkness of the cellar "Stay quiet and they shouldn't find you down here, I will be back as soon as it is safe to help all of you." whispered Vosamore to the group. After Vosamore closed the door to the cellar, Mouse-O cast a minor illusion to make the trap door look no different from the floor, becoming nearly undetectable. Vosamore rushed back out into thhe city of Dawnsbury with Mouse-O in his padded box near the top of Vosamore's back. Both searching for another way they can help the city before all is lost.

Dawnsbury

Amelia watched in horror at the onslaught on the townspeople. She had to do something fast. THEY had to do something fast. That horror gave way to determination in an instant and she charged in. "Sword Beam! She started frantically, unleashing lots of beams from her rapier. At full energy, it cost her no mana so she was proving to be an effective distraction from the get go, actually causing a fair amount of damage right out the gate and killed a few weakened ones immediately.
"GO GO GO!!" She screamed as she jumped over a sword swipe and kicked a demon in the face. "CLEAR IT OUT!! AMARYLLIS LEAD THE WAAAAYYY!! "

She folded her arms as she listened to the bickering. Her eyes averting as the soldiers began to be dismissed in their tasks. Once she was assured the deed had been done, she rested her weapon back onto her back. She had grown accustomed to such violent tactics but even if those around her didn't seem troubled, she always was.

"Well, now that this place is void, what is out next move?"

She said looking to her companion. She paused however hearing a commotion. Ah, it must be the heroes. She folded her arms beginning to turn towards the gate.

"I believe we have company."

Albin
Location: Dawnsbury, hanging from the side of the Duke's Castle.

As it turns out, almost-perfect, fit-for-a-Duke stone-masonry is much harder to climb than vineyard lattice.

Albin had removed his gloves to climb the wall easier to climb, as his gloved fingers could not fit well in the gaps between the stonework; by the time he made it to the window, his fingers were bleeding, his arms and legs were aching, and he was out of breath from the long climb. He dragged himself part-way into the small window, put his gloves back on, and looked around to get a grasp of his surroundings. At level with him were walls of stone and a few support beams to support the height of the castle and its stonework, as well as a chandelier. Nothing about that particularly stuck out to him, but he never expected it to; after all, all the action would be on the floor.

Albin looked down to the ground level of the Duke's Great Hall and saw three figures; the Duke, naturally, as well as a woman in a white dress, and a well-armed man. The focus of the two others was clearly on the Duke, suggesting they are the raiders. However, Albin didn't want to jump to conclusions, so he decided to get to a more permanent spot to watch from. The nearest support beam was only a few feet away, and the stonework on the inside was the same as the stonework on the outside. If he slid along to the beam by carrying himself along by his fingers in the gaps of the stonework, he could pull himself onto the beam to sit on, possibly even stand on it.

And so he did; he didn't bother to take his gloves off, because enough damage had already been done to his hands. He shifted, one agonizing stride at a time, he made his way to the support beam. Reaching his short arm as long as he could, he reached up for the beam to pull himself up. It was a hard reach, but a few adjustments and a good reach allowed him to get a good grip on the beam. He then shifted his weight from the wall to the wooden beam, and...

Veran Eucin & Lupin Havest Lua
Varen nodded at Wayland and then began making his way to the Duke's estate. There, he saw a lot of guards on alert looking in a specific direction. He made his way over to that direction without them noticing and noticed Lupin holding his shoulder with blood dripping from it at a surprising rate. He crouched over to Lupin and began searching through his bag. When he did he said, "What happened? You're bleeding out, fast."

Lupin smiled then placed a hand on Veran and whispered "drain" in a more ancient language. When he did this, Veran felt some of his vitality being leached from him. He didn't fight it, as Lupin only took enough to repair his wound. He did feel a slight tinge in his left shoulder though.

"It's a stroke of luck you showed up...I was thinking of burning my wound soon. Anyhow, I have a few ideas...those crossbows are magic, so they're easier to reload, unlike conventional ones. Luckily, they're just magic. This means the entire force is HIGHLY reliant on their weapons. Veran, I have a plan, but I need you to distract them."

"Alright, I'll trust you. You had better have a good reason for me to be out in the open," Veran said before running out. Lupin began to chant again. This time he formed a magic circle in front of him. It was a mixture of purple, crimson, and black. A three layered circle too. He then dipped his hand in his own blood and put his improvised circle into his palm.

Veran was running out, darting from house to house and firing his bow at the soldiers who responded in kind with their crossbows. He managed to hit some in minor spots, but no where major. After he hid himself behind another building he
grasped his arrows, he only had three left now. That's when he saw a spark of fire fly out from the building area Lupin was behind.

Veran followed through and ran out, staying out and began shooting towards the six guards. That's when his ears picked up Lupin's chant.
"Darkness, I call upon thee to aggravate. Amplify their fear, their terror, Conterito!" The three layered circle sprang forth from Lupin's hand and the soldiers quickly looked to the circle. When they attempted to shoot, their hands were far too shaky to do so. Fear was taking over their being and one even decided to run into the castle or out of sight.

"Now!"
Lupin shouted as he picked up his sword and began running towards the guards. Veran did the same, both with their blades drawn. The guards drew the blades with their shaking hands and Lupin and Veran charged. Veran was the one to take first blood as he ducked under a strike and stabbed the man in the neck with great precision. Lupin on the other hand was going for a more typical swodfight as he quickly knocked his opponents off balance and ultimately stabbed them.

When the job was done, the two ran inside the estate, but before Lupin went he told Veran, "Assist whoever are alive. A city is only as good as the people in it."

Veran nodded and ran off. The important part was that they had cleared the way to the estate. Now it would be easy to get in.

Veran managed to run off where people were screaming and being hauled off. Teleported away by certain individuals...wait...teleported? He noticed a mother and her daughter screaming and crying as they were separated and sent to different people. Veran made a tough call and shot an arrow to the head of the soldier holding the little girl who screamed in fright before being swiftly picked up by Veran and ran to a safer location. He continued to repeat the process, saving as many people as possible. WHen he was done he only had about twelve. Five of them children, four of them women, and three of them men.

"Come with is, Amaryllis will keep you safe. For now, focus on getting out," Veran said before leading them away and tried to find someone to rendezvous with. He only had one arrow left, he should use it wisely. He was also covered in bloodied bandages from the shots he received trying to save his precious ammunition. Why couldn't magic arrows exist for him?

Meanwhile, back in the Town of Beholderfore...

The heroes were away, some adventure or crisis that demanded their attention drawing them elsewhere. While the townsfolk were nervous as to their leaders' return, they could all still rest easy that they were suitably protected by their trusty guard. Truly, no bandits would break the wall's defences, no solitary monster capable enough to slay their valiant soldiers.

And yet, as was custom of prey, they were gravely mistaken...

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.

A farmer approaching the town's gate turned curiously to the sound of heavy footsteps pounding the path. His weathered eyes squinted to make out what it was that caused such violent quakes in the earth. A man, a large one at that, cloaked in a garb that hid his true identity. The only telling feature that was immediately apparent from the otherwise heavily shadowed appearance was the man's large physique and the weighted steps from his large bare-feet. Oddly enough, his feet were red, perhaps as a form of strange tribal tattoo marking.

"Stranger, from where do you-"

The man was cut short, quite literally. A brief blur and a flash of something gleaming from the sun. The man's expression did not change, instead freezing as it was: a curious glance of suspicion. However, the expression soon went slack as the farmer's head toppled to the ground, a clean neat red line telling where his neck had been divided. Copious amounts of blood gushes from the man's headless body as it toppled over, no longer supported by a consciousness. A nearby woman screamed piercingly as she dropped a sack of farm goods to the ground, shock and horror evident on her fearfully contorted features. The 7ft man then threw off his cloak to reveal...

a5069e93ae2097a9e096288adb615378--man-beast-creature-design.jpg

The shocked looks increased tenfold as nearby farmers and guards suddenly noticed the disturbance. A sizeable pool of red had formed at the creature's feet, the monstrous being gazing about his surroundings slowly. The humans around him were paralysed with fear, terrified as to how he had slain the farmer.

"I hunger..."

The voice was deep, gravely, like two boulders grating together. The demonic man picked up the lifeless carcass before him and savagely ripped a bloody chunk from the exposed neck, slowly chewing. Disgusted and naseous gasps came from around as they stared wide-eyed at the creature before them as it began to devour the body. A bell sounded, an alarm. The watch was being gathered, the Town of Beholderfore preparing for this menace. They did not yet know how doomed their futile efforts were.

"I am... The Devourer..."

A loud blast could be heard as citizens on the other side of the gate watched the entrance to their haven violently explode outwards, shards of building material flying out. Through the opening, the monstrous red demon known as 'Khaoul' walked through, a scarily vacant expression adorning his satanic face. It seemed as though one mortal would not be enough to sate his desire.

Two guards from the watch, suitably armed and armoured, ran courageously at the red mountain of a man, swords slashing at his form in practised motions. They were trained individuals meant to be the first line of defence against any invaders, and as such were one of the most experienced from seeing the action most frequently. And yet, Khaoul was apparently unconcerned. One flick of his forearm, and the two were sent flying through the wall of a nearby house, wet crunches coming from both men. It was times like these where the thoughts and ideas of training orphans into mighty warriors might not have been such a misguided notion.

"More... Feed me."

A blur. Suddenly, Khaoul was in front of a nearby house. It was unfortunate that the gate was positioned directly by the Gate Districts. The mass of concentrated population, the target for Khaoul's desires, were so conveniently close by. He swiped a large taloned hand forth and the front of the house was ripped away instantly, a ridiculously powerful display of pure strength. Inside, a cowering family that had previously been enjoying a meal stood stock still, each member unable to even defend themselves. They could only state in horror as Khaoul slowly grabbed one, the mother, and took a hearty bite out of her shoulder, reaching across her neck and collar bone too. Crunching sounds, grotesque and grim to hear as it was to witness. Perhaps driven by vengeance, or fear for survival, the father had taken up a sharp knife and ran at the demon, yelling loudly and desperately. Khaoul glanced down, uninterested. The knife penetrated his abdomen. Khaoul was uninterested. Dropping the partially-consumed woman, Khaoul then picked up the man, who struggled in his unbreakable grasp.

"You bastard, you! How dare you! The heroes will- They will kill-"

He was cut short as Khaoul crushed his body in his massive hand, raising the limp bag of meat over his head to allow the blood to pour into the creature's mouth. Delicious. Khaoul was not satisfied. Leaving the children, Khaoul turned to find more guardsmen waiting to fight him off. How pathetic. The very air stank, telling of a familiar crimson liquid. Raising a large muscled fist once more, the demon Goliath prepared to kill them all.

As this occurred, a desperate captain of the guard sent a carrier pigeon in the direction of Dawnsbury. The message: "A terrible fate has befallen our town. A monstrous creature of incredible power has broken through our defences and is slaughtering our people! Please return ASAP. -Beholderfore" written on the parchment. The man could only hope it reached them in time, before it was too late. Before they had all been devoured.

(Dw guys, this post has been given the go-ahead by the higher ups. Good luck dealing with this curveball! : D)

Amelia was surrounded by a ring of 8 demons, after being knocked unarmed. She was dodging like a master, dodging magic attacks and simultaneous attacks, but couldn't seem to attack herself. She heard the orders as a demon swung a hammer. She jumped on the hammer head and into the demon's shoulder and delivered a kick right to its eye, making it swing its hammer and take out 3 more. "We need half of us to go back and buy time while the rest clear this town of enemies." She yelled aloud

Ai Fujito finally managed to arrive at the castle, however, it seems as though they had left already. She pursed her lips, and took off her yellow hat. "Huh? Where is everyone?" she muttered. She's late, and now, they had left? Surely they wouldn't do that!

Ai's shoulder slumped in disappointment, and she hung her head.

What's so important that they left me instead of wait?

She pursed her lips, and started to walk away from the castle, in deep thought. Midway through the path, she started skipping like the idiotic teenager she is, not realizing the real reason why the heroes had left.

She took off her hat, and looked up at the sky, mumbling. "I guess I better go find them!" she thought aloud. She was still skipping, but that was before she accidently tripped and rolled down the sidewalk.

Ouch!

Once she was done rolling, she quickly got up, and rubbed her ankle, where she had a bruise. She then heard a weird thud. Three thuds, actually. She looked around, to see what was going on.

"What the hell is this?!"
a girl with white hair and crimson eyes yell as a demon attacks her from behind. The girl that goes by the name Persia elbowed the demon and grabbed her red sword, preparing for battle in Dawnsbury with the other heroes.

Persia then sliced the demon in half. Just as another one started to leap at her, she created a fireball and threw it at the demon.

The demon was not affected.

"Of course!" Persia screamed. The creature is a demon, so he's immune to fire. She started to use her red sword to attack those creatures who are surrounding her.

Why did I choose fire? Out of everything else... why fire?

They wanted to make themselves smaller, they wanted to stop shaking, they wanted to be able to stand up and fight. But, they did only one of those things. Lux unthreaded his head to place it between his legs and took out one eye to observe what was going on outside of the bush. They watched as the battle raged on, Wayland approached Amelia and said something about a monster. A demon fell in front of the bush with a thud. He was still alive but Lux didn't dare keep his eye out to see the demon get up and run off to battle. They scooched further into the bush.

Xayah glared slightly as the duke gained a sudden back bone. Her scythe lifted to his throat once again.

"I suggest keeping that sorry excuse of a mouth shut or else I'll be kicking you in the dick Duke."

She said before lowering her weapon. Her eyes glaring to this so called champion before turning to her superior.

"So, will you put him in the ground or should I?"

Daeden
Location: Duke's Castle
Action: Greeting the Guests

The town was basically gone, a third of the town was dead in the streets, in their homes, everywhere you'd look there were dead bodies. Almost the rest was teleported away towards the labor camps back home. Those that remained were cowering in hidden spots to hide away from the Rygard soldiers and various demons, while heroes were there protecting everyone. The plan has been a success but Daeden still wanted to do something. He looked at the Duke as he rambled on, thinking he could just hide the large creaking sound above them. He sighed as he pointed his finger at the rafts, and a suddenly the wood got older and older, as if it was rotting away. It was at a point that any weight on it will make it snap in two, which is exactly what it does.

"Hold your scythe, before he dies I want to entertain these heroes for a moment."

Daeden looked at the doors to the castle and with a gush of Dark wind, they blew open for anyone near the castle. The sound of a loud metallic voice penetrated the air soon afterwards.

"Those wishing to save this town and the Duke, I humbly request your presence in the throne room! Due try to get here on time in the next two minutes!"

Daeden looked at Albin.

"I hope you are aware it's rude to try and eavesdrop right? Ah but no matter, you are here as a guest! Once the others arrive we shall all have a good time! I'll let you in on a secret! We're all going to play a wonderful game! Now sit there nicely and don't move, otherwise the Duke dies immediately, and well so do you."

Albin
Location: Dawnsbury, hanging from a high beam in the Duke's Castle.

Albin's muscles tensed up as if his if his nerves had been lit up by a bolt of lightning. That voice... that indescribably unsettling voice... Albin would never get that voice out of his head for as long as he lived, which, considering the current circumstances, might not be more than a few minutes. As much as he wanted to climb on top of the beam to put him in a more stable and comfortable position, Albin decided it would be best not to be needlessly antagonistic, especially against an enemy so powerful. Though, in this moment, Albin would have given his soul just for the opportunity to slit the man's throat; it's not like he was using it, after all. So, there he hung helplessly from a wooden beam, like some sort of short, bloody-handed man-bat.

Albin was less than thrilled at the mention of adventurers. He had an earful he could give about what he thought about so-called "adventurers", but that is a discussion best saved for later. For now, what ever keeps the Duke safe is fine, even if he personally doesn't like the means. Speaking of which...

"Games, you say? Well, I do like a good game..." Albin said, trying to appease the apparent psychopath, "However, do tell,
what do you plan to taunt the adventurers with when they get here if I were to just... decide to drop down? I mean, some men might be satisfied with an empty throne and a couple of corpses, but certainly nothing less than live bait would do for you. Do tell, could you actually go through with it, knowing the adventurers would surely walk out the door if they had nothing to gain by staying? What fun is there to be had when your adversaries won't give you the time of day, because you executed your only hostages?" He tried to reason on the man's level; this armored 'gentleman' was a war party leader, after all, so he had to have at least some sense in him to competently command men, or the things raiding this town that pass for 'men'.

Albin wanted to drop down already, but he knew he couldn't risk it until he could be sure he had convinced the man not to kill the Duke, and, even then, nothing is entirely certain with the mentally insane. So, he kept clung to the beam with his two gaunt hands.

"Say, why don't we start this game of yours a little early? I'm sure you're dying to play."

Having saved as many as he could, Vosamore was headed to check and see if the others had successfully protected the duke. That's when he and Mouse-O heard the booming voice. Vosamore picked up the pace as much as he could without making too much noise, and Mouse-O cast a large silence spell. Heavily dampening all the noise made within seven feet of him making the two very hard to detect.

Vosamore and Mouse-O arrived atthe manor on the opposite side to where the stairs can be climbed to the front. Needing a way up, Vosamore channeled his god feeling the cold touch of void and rendering himself immune to the effects of gravity. With a slight push he floated up to the manor and silently touched down. With gravity returned and the chill gone, he crept silently with the aid of Mouse-O's magic close to the door where he could hear voices coming from within. There was probably only around 30 seconds left before the time was up. Knowing that many of the others were stronger than him Vosamore stayed hidden outside the room relying on the element of suprise to give aid to his allies if needed.

A small sigh escaped the girls lips as she listened to the useless ramblings of their guest. This entire assault was nonsense. In fact, this entire plan was nonsense. Oh how she wished she could just rip her blade into the throats of these two and be on her merry way. But, she needed to remain calm. Above all else, she had lives on the line. Her eyes looked to the male above. His ramblings were angering her. And nothing was more fearsome than an angered woman. She lifted her blade once more; this time pointing to the male.

"If you even think about jumping down here and trying to play hero, it will be the final move you make. Unlike my company, I do NOT enjoy playing games. Regardless of what you do, any action I see unfit will have consequences. And I promise you once I rid your body of your soul, you will sever me in your afterlife. And oh how I will enjoy torturing your corpse to it's limits."

Once she had finished, she lowered her blade; this time to Daeden.

"And you. Stop humoring this worm."

Once she had finished her piece, she rested her blade onto her back and opened her tome huffing lightly.

"I'm making more minions. Something to buy us some more time so you can finally get this ridiculous deed over with."

There were so many. Only through manipulating that giant to commit mass fratricide did she manage to cut through many a demon. She couldn't find her sword and only got by on taunting and kicking the beast in sensitive areas. Nose, eyes, groin, etc. That seemed to have worked fairly well in this crowd, but it would be time consuming pulling making and keeping this demon berserk.

She heard a scream and saw two civilians about to be struck down. Kitsune mother and child, the mother trying in weakening avail to hold them off with a katana. This must be an anti magic demon to push a kitsune to this kind of wall. Against her safer interest, she charged in to save them, armed with nothing but her quick wit. She kicked the demon in the back of the knee and quickly jabbed a finger in its eye, making it drop its sword. She picked it up, but it was heavier than she was used to, which said a lot considering that it was only slightly heavier than a long sword. Still she did her best, using her body to swing, letting the sword swing her more than she it. She struck down the assaulting demon and stood protectively in front of the kitsune while stepping back so they can get to safety. The citizens were boarding up the Church and the Hospital and trying to hunker down with warriors protecting the entrances. "I need Wayland, Lupin, Simon and Jenny to get back to beholderfore ASAP!!!"

"The Devourer"
a5069e93ae2097a9e096288adb615378--man-beast-creature-design.jpg

The enormous demon stood over the group of guards disinterestedly, looking around for more prey to consume. The guards were in a sorry state: two had been crushed in their armour, one was missing about three of his limbs, two more had been thrown through a nearby building and the remaining guard had turn tail to run. Not that it would have made a difference, he was faster. Of course he was, he was a creation of chaos, chosen of the gods themselves to be their physical champion. He was the perfect being. This thought brought him joy and he grinned dumbly, laughed out a hearty roar that shook the roofs of nearby houses and surely served to further terrify the local populace.

'The Devourer', as he called himself, had not consumed the guards. Whilst it might have seemed like random luck, the demon was indeed selective. Iron-clad prey was annoying to chew and all the armour bits got in the way and were uncomfortable to swallow, plus he often got scraps stuck in his teeth. Villages had decent prey as there were usually less guards and more helpless prey, and since they were mostly all farmers they were all well-fed too. So why had he attacked this place? The demon frowned for a moment, unconcerned as arrows peppered his body from the damaged gatehouse behind him, trying to remember why he was here. Obviously, it was to consume prey because he was hungry, but why here? With all these annoying guards with their metal sticks and iron clothes. And then it dawned on him, there were a lot more people here than in villages. These 'Big Villages' both did farming and... trading? He wasn't sure if that was right, but what did he know about 'trading'? Either way, he did know it meant they could use it to buy more food, which meant they were also well-fed, probably. If he could ignore the guards, then it was fine. He was hungry again. What was he just thinking about? Food. Probably food. He wanted to eat now. Where was the prey? Near. He needed prey. So hungry. Hungry.

"L... let me... take... from you."

A suitably terrified fat merchant who was clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time visibly froze at sight upon catching a glimpse of the monstrous form before him, having exited a nearby alleyway. Unfortunate for him, less so for the demon about to eat him. Picking the tubby man up, he sunk his teeth into the man's belly, ripping a chunk out. The man screamed in pain, obviously. The demonic creature ignored it, continuing to eat the man alive. When he was done, he tossed what was left of the bloodied carcass aside and turned to the sound of stumbling across the sidewalk. A small prey. Not much meat to be really worth eating, but he was really hungry after all. Reaching out a massive hand to the girl, he drew closer, about to grab her entire head in his palm.

"Thank you... meat. Be happy that I chose you to eat."

Wayland
Beholderfore

Wayland nodded to the orders. "Got it, boss." He ran to his horse and hopped on. It took a few minutes to arrive in Beholderfore.

Wayland saw what was about to happen, but had a plan. He would deploy an elemental to distract the monster, then get the girl, then leave the rest to his teammates.

SWOOSH! Two spears of ice flew through the air, hitting the giant demon in the back. After that, a ray of pure, miniature ice cones and fragments generated itself and hit him as well. It was a distraction, but an ample one regardless.

The ice elemental, in the shape of an adult woman, wearing clothing seemingly made from ice and with dark blue eyes and dark blue skin, was doing what she could to comply with the summon orders that were given to her upon her evocation: to distract the monster and protect the young girl.

Ultimately, she was just an ice spirit from a lesser plain, but she had enough power to serve as at least an annoyance. As soon as The Devourer turned to her, Wayland would sneak his way behind him and rescue the young girl, while also dropping a few carnivorous plant seeds to the ground. If he didn't turn to her?... Well, then Wayland wouldn't move and leave the rest to his teammates.

Veran Eucin

Veran heard Amelia's orders and ran up to her with the civilians he had saved in tow. When he reached her he said, "Amelia! Lupin won't be able to help. He ran ahead to the mansion. These were all the people I could save before...they started taking them away..."

His voice and expression became bluer as he thought about their own city. Where would these people go? Whatever the case, there was an issue that couldn't be ignored. Lupin specialized in spell-sword fighting and strategy, yet he was the first to charge into the mansion. He wondered if Lupin was still alive. Veran shook his head and bowed down in a respective manner to Amelia and said, "Amelia! I request permission to take Lupin's place in saving Beholderfore. Most of the forces have left the city now, so I leave these people to you!"

Veran then sprinted off for Beholderfore. Leaving the civilians he saved in an awestruck state, with many of them clearly worried.

Lupin Havest Lua

Lupin ran through the estate until he managed to find the Duke in the audience hall with some others. One of them a man in armor and another a woman with white hair. He had his sword drawn and his other hand was alight with flames. These had to be the people behind the attack. He looked at the Duke, finding it odd that they didn't kill him in their slaughter. No soldiers were left, why the hell were the commanders still here?

"This is fascinating...a living, calm room among all the chaos outside. May I ask questions, or am I going to be denied answers? If so, I would rather not waste the precious air of the burning town on such matters," he said, pointing is sword towards the two then lowering it slightly to emphasize his readiness to fight.
