Fandom Noragami: Descending Darkness (Always Open)

Title is still a work in progress, but it was the only thing that I could come up at this moment.


This roleplay takes place in the world of Noragami. No canon characters will be in play and will be asked to not be played as. The concepts of Phantoms, gods, regalias, spirits, far-shore and near-shore are still relevant. With the spirit world shore, you do not have to be an expert in it, just understand what it means.


This will be a detail-oriented roleplay, meaning I will be asking for at least 10 sentences. (If it is under by a few I won't penalize you or anything ) But the plus side to this is that I will be requiring only one post a week (although this may change if roleplay remains stagnant).


Alright now that I have bore you enough onto to the juicy part!


At one point in time there was peace amongst the gods so much so that the goddess of festivities decided to throw a nice celebration for it. Most of the gods were hesitant at first, there was peace but only because they have not really confronted each other. But because of the easy tensions most decided to attend. The festival was one to remember. And not in the way most thought would be.


One god died.


No one knew who did it or how it happened. It is impossible to kill a god but someone or something accomplished it. This event sets off the peaceful atmosphere and throws the gods into a game of suspicions. The fear is thrown even farther once another god is killed. Trusts are being destroyed and bonds broken. Darkness begins to swamp cities as Storms form. With little to no activity from the gods acting upon these Storms, Phantoms are wrecking havoc. So not only is their distrust amongst the gods but now Phantoms are appearing more than they should be. Who ultimately is killing the gods? And how? What was their motive?


I know this is rather sloppy, but I shall have this polished once I get the actual thread up. If I receive enough interests.

Mmmmmm with the half-phantom I'm a bit iffy about considering I don't see a way as to how that could happen. Plus the gods should be aware with what is happening in the human world, considering that there is a killer on the loose.

Well I mean children can see Phantoms and spirits. But I am also going to have to decline that idea as well because of story purposes


It was not a bad idea although I already an idea similar to that for something in our story.

- Eternal Youth


- Ability to name and use Shinki


- possibly instant travel


- Exist in both the mortal realm and the god's realm. This means...


- Mortals will remember them, but not the godly things they do


- Can be harmed by both mortal attacks as well as godly attacks


- Phantoms are attracted to their scent


- Can not be reborn if killed


- Perhaps, depending on which god was their parent, posses an extra power...


- A child of a fortune god would possess incredible luck and could possibly share it with those around them


- A child of a war god would be extremely skilled at fighting or have unnatural strength/speed


- A child of Fujin, the wind god, could control the wind (to a degree)


- A child of Raijin, the thunder god, could create electricity


- Etc, etc.


It's cool if you say no. It's just an idea I've been toying around with.

Glad you're interested buuuuut I am going to have to decline that idea. It would only be fair since I have already declined other's ideas. I am doing this for the purpose of simplicity. The elements of Noragami are already different as it is, plus for this plot I'm already having to create a slightly new concept (which I will not reveal since it would spoil something major ).


Perhaps, if we get past this arc, I will start allowing new elements into the world of Noragami.

Okay so now for the preliminary questions.


I know what you all must be thinking, "What? What is this? I did not sign up for this."


Don't worry this is not anything too scary. I am going to be asking you a set of questions. Reason for this is that I want to see your brainstorming for your character. This will help us in the long run when it comes to the CS. Now understand you do not have to follow with what you answer it, who knows who might all of a sudden think of a better character. That's fine, although these questions will also help to see what gods and regalias will be here so that we do not have duplicates. The questions can be answered in either first or third person. But the roleplay will be third person. First person will be fine for the questions because it's mostly brainstorming.

(This is basically asking for the type of God. You don't have to define it right away. Perhaps as you continue down these questions his/her type may change.)


[spirits Only - I say spirits because the regalia-god bond has not been established. This will be decided over in the roleplay.] What do you seek in your existence?


Who do you believe is committing all these murders?


[Gods Only] Are you fighting Phantoms or trying to avoid the other gods?

Do you believe that the gods should have ever attended the festival?


Oh and you can submit one questionnaire and CS as a god and one as a spirit, but be aware you can only pick one when the time comes for the roleplay.

"Why the hell should I care? The gods have never given a damn about my problems! Why should I give a damn about theirs?"

"I remember a bit. My mom. A few friends. It doesn't really matter though. That's no longer my life, a fact I came to terms with some time ago."

"Like I said, I don't give a f***. I'm too busy trying to keep myself alive (well, unalive) to worry about what the gods should or shouldn't be doing. Unless it's killing phantoms. They definitely should be doing that. Which they're not. And that's really making it hard to survive. So do your f***ing jobs already, damn it!"
