Pillow Queen of Doom ~ Valen's BooBear <3
giphy.gif

Through each generation, greatness and tragedy had been known to arise through the Villages. One village alone though stood mighty above the rest. It has persisted to survive and thrive through the darkest of times. This village was called, The Village Hidden in the Leaf. Those whom lived there were proud individuals who stood by their village no matter the time or event. Yet, this simply proved to be the reason why individuals wished to see the various villages fall into true and utter chaos. Time after time, those before had come to fail.. From the Akatsuki and their attempts to release all of the Jinchuriki to use as a weapon of war against the nations. To truly instill fear to those who held no power against what they could create. Foiled their attempts were with the strength and unity the Villages brought together on their own. With the formation of the Alliance, it became apparently known among the lands that if such a threat were to rise again.. That of any form that could endanger their peace. That they would easily smite such forces to ensure the prosperity of their lands. Little to their own knowledge, did they know of what had begun to grow in the Village Hidden in Shadow.

From within a fortress, there held a select group that had gathered among several of the stone ledges as darkness cloaked over them. The miscolored gaze of a female held among them as she scoffed loudly whilst her arms came to fold at her chest.” We have been gathered here for a number of days and not a single word of plan has been spoken amongst us. Do you truly intend to waste away our time like this?” She outwardly questioned as various sounds of response resounded around those gather. Yet, a figure whom held perched to the head of a statue engraved into the walls would watch with mild interest to the question raised. The only visible feature to them was their uncharacteristically white orbs that overlooked watch each person within.

But another spoke first from the corner of the room. His head tilted down and arms crossed with a mild grin across his lips. "Always so restless. The more pieces we try to move the faster our enemies know that the board even exists and that there is a game afoot. Taking our time secures our station, besides what is the rush. Many of the villages hold promising future Shinobi but their progression is constant and predictable." He said looking up with suddenly shifted into familiar crimson black eyes. "But by all means. I am not the one making all the decisions."

The dulled gaze of their leader held cast over the man as he spoke. A wry smile etched to their paled mouth as their words fell eerily over the chamber as the female member silenced.”
The Uchiha speaks the simplistic truth on the rules of the game we have chosen to play. As stated, we must ensure we are truly prepared to face the obstacles these foolish individuals will attempt to place before us. We must out maneuver them before they truly discover our own motives.” They stated plainly only for their arms to drape over their knees as they observed the gathered group below.” As he stated, let us look to their promising crops of the future. We shall reap those whom willingly give their loyalties and those who do not..Their words would pause as their hand extended out infront of them as a blazing blue flame danced there.” We will smite the life from their future and their village.. I will make them behold our power and my willingness to destroy every ounce of hope that they carry in this life.” The flames would blaze upwards in higher definition as those around slowly grinned amongst themselves as the darkness drowned out the scene.

The Hidden Leaf Village:

The crowd erupted in loud cheers as their applause poured out from the massive arena held close to the mountainside. Excitement filled the air as several members of the village bounced on their feet whilst several others cheered for key members competing in the Chunnin Exams. The Kage’s watched with various forms of interest to the final participants that remained. Lord Hokage himself smiled warmly as his hands intertwined as he watched the children now teenagers whom had grown before his own eyes. These were the children of the future.. The promising light that would shine through the years to come. His look would phase over his brother as Atsu approached the center of the ring followed by several Jonin as their looks proudly met those whom had passed. Atsu paused to the front as he caught sight of the few whom held under his command as he fought back a grin over the kids. His hand would gesture towards all who stood their as he spoke up loudly.” We stand here today to honor these young generations whom have proved their worth in this field. After a strenuous week, they have proved their yearning to strive and fight their way to the end of this. Now, we are given the chance to award these young men and women with their new positions as Chunnin.” He stated clearly with pride to his own tone as the crowd erupted in loud unison.

Yet, from the hidden part of the stands. A figure would begin to emerge from the entryway as the sight of Kotomi would be revealed as she kept quiet. At her side, Anu Hichoke drew breath and released from his pipe as the smoke filtered out around them.” It would appear you have returned home in time to witness your final classmates receiving their new honors.” He said with a light chuckle as Kotomi’s lavender hues pooled with warmth at the sight of her friends held below. In that moment, she chose to no longer hide her appearance as her dark brown tresses flooded in the breeze behind her. A faint smile curved at her lips as Kotomi’s fingers lightly pressed over them to stifle her own simple laughter.” It would seem that only a few years can change everything, Master. I never thought I would find myself in shock to the growth.” She answered thoughtfully to him as her orbs widened over the sight of a familiar Hyuga held in the ring. A faint blush colored her cheeks as she pulled her gaze aside and simply laughed.” I cannot begin to say how happy I am to be home in the Village again. Do you think I was missed?” She chimed out in a happy tone as Anu smirked and nodded his head whilst he glanced upwards to the puff of smoke escaping him.” All you kids are back together.. It will certainly be quite the time.. Ready to see everyone again, Kid?” He asked as her look continued to gaze downwards as she nodded.” I think I’ll go find my Team..I’m assuming you already let them know I’m back?” Anu felt no need to respond as she guessed simply and shook her head with laughter.” Team Six is back and reporting, Master. I’ll catch you later.” She called out warmly to him as she vanished in a puff of smoke to appear to the lower levels where all the certified Chunnin would be. Kotomi’s gaze began to wander over the crowds in the stands in hope of finding those that she knew better than most.

Yuko Kitsunaka

DXwxyRuVMAIetZG.jpg
Yuko stood in the area alongside her fellow new Chunins; she wore her ninja outfit and had a big grin plastered on her face. She had passed the Chunin exam. It hadn't been easy. If it wasn't for her teammates, she might not have made it to the fighting portion of the test. She wasn't known around the Hidden Leaf Village for her brains, but her brawn was another story.

Looking triumphantly toward the crowd, she spotted her sensei, Atsu, and waved at him, still beaming a big grin. She then began to scan the stands for any Kitsunaka shrine uniforms in the audience before waving toward her clan. She then turned her gaze over to her teammates, Hayato, Hisui, and Matsuda. "We did it, guys!" she said, giving Hayato a light nudge with her elbow. She was fired up. "After this, let's head to the general store and celebrate. Soda, food, whatever, it's on me!" It was the least she could do to thank them for putting up with an instinctual Kunoichi that was better at punching through puzzles than solving them.

HAYATO

And the crowd went wild.

Hayato was filled with crazy amounts of adrenaline, hyped up by the presence of the Hokage, the arena filled with spectators, and his team-mates beside him. He was high on victory. Somewhere out there his Obaa-chan was watching, slowly nodding with a smile on her face, knowing that her descendent was finally on the path to success.

Frankly, it was a miracle that his team had got through the written tests, but this go-round of the chunin exams, at the very least they had aced the teamwork event. That was progress. Surrounded by his team-mates, and the others of his cohort that passed the exam with him, he could hardly keep the grin from his face.

When Yuko nudged him, he turned to her, grabbed her by the waist and lifted her up in the air. Seating her on his shoulders he ran around the arena, doing a victory lap. “Come on, Matsu!” he said to the normally reticent Uchiha. It was unclear whether he expected Matsu to jump on his shoulders as well, or just accompany him for a run around, but Hayato yelled “Go Team Eight!” and waved V signs as he went.

Sure enough it wasn’t too long until he stopped. Given the gruelling nature of the tournament round, his enthusiasm wildly outstripped his capacity and he sat down on the ground. “A root beer for me,” he replied to Yuko’s suggestion that she would buy them all whatever they wanted.

Yutifa_47.full.1187482.jpgimgbin-white-tiger-felidae-big-cat-dynamic-fashion-color-shading-background-kwrWSer0pk81ZABq5T...jpgHisui couldn't believe that he was actually standing in the arena with the crowds cheering for all of them. He passed! He actually passed the Chuunin exams! This was his 3rd attempt and honestly he never expected to actually pass this time. But thanks to his team, and his partner Mitsuki of course, he finally did it. He was beat up and exhausted from the trials but he didn't feel any of it. Right now all he felt was disbelief, excitement, and joy as a big grin adorned his face while waving at the crowd and their Sensei.

The blonde looked over at his teammates and made a peace sign with his fingers which also counted as a V as he chuckled at Hayato taking Yuko hostage atop his shoulders while running around the arena like a mad man. Wanting to join in on the fun Hisui hopped up on Mitsuki's back and ran around the arena with her following close on Hayato's heels while doing goofy acrobatic tricks. That was until Hayato suddenly stopped causing Mitsuki to jump over him in order to not run over their teammate with her massive body. Unfortunately Hisui was not prepared for this and the sudden leap into the air threw him off Mitsuki to roll and land next to Hayato on the ground. Groaning the shinobi sat up and spat out a mouthful of dust. "Little warning next time buddy!" He scolded his teammate but the playful smile on his lips betrayed his true feelings, he held no ill will. "Cream soda for me and a snack for Mitsuki please!" Hisui called out to Yuko before hopping to his feet and shaking his head to get the dust out of his hair.

"CHESTOOOOO!!!!"

A loud roar pierced the area. Followed by a thick column of scarlet red flames. A young man with slicked back, spiky, crimson hair stood at the exit of the Chuunin Exam Arena. Legs stretched apart, bent at 90 degree angle, his arms stiff and flexed outward, angled low to the ground as well, just so the bursting flames would not hit anyone close by. His toothy grin was hard to contain, flames sputtering out from behind his sharpened fangs. Heat unbearable for anyone that was too close.

"I DID IT! WE DID IT! I BECAME A CHUNIN! YEAH! YEAH YEAH YEAAAAHHH!!!!"

A roar up to the heavens, followed by a burst of flames emitted from his breath into the air above him displayed his excitement. He hopped up and down. His exaggerated excitement could possibly have been annoying to others, but to him he just enjoyed the fact he proved Raizo wrong, his one and only rival. Sadly he didn't get to fight him during the last round of the Exams. One day though, they'll certainly have a good fight.
The day was essentially over for Sajin, and he realized that since he won the Chunin Exams..Perhaps he could get extra Sea-Salt Ice Cream from the old man today? That made his sweet fang tingle, and his mouth water.

"Hnng...I can't wait to get out of here and go to Old Man! Ice Cream Ice Cream!!~" Sajin rubbed his hands together nefariously, his demon-like smile stretched wide, with heat huffing and puffing out of his mouth. Although, from the corner of his eyes did he spot a familiar face moving towards him. Kotomi?! His hunger for ice cream quickly subsided...She's back!

"KOTOMI!!!" He yelled out to her, running over "It's been so long since I've seen you!! I'm a Chunin now! I did it Kotomi!!" He laughed, standing tall and rubbing under his nose. Trying his best to contain his excitement from influencing his flames, Sajin stood a respectable distance, to allow his heat to generate without bothering Kotomi.

The annoying blabbering of Sajin continued to irritate Raizo as he sat close-by his teammates. Raizo simply generated some Iron Sand in his hand, allowing it to shape and shift as his fingers coiled around it, to keep himself busy during all the commotion going on. He knew he would win the Chunin Exams, there was no need for him to celebrate. This was expected, is all. He would reach for higher achievements, stretch for goals never before attained by the common Ninja. All for the sake of the Hidden Leaf.

Although, for all of Raizo's apathy, he did smirk as he watched Kotomi appear near Sajin. It had been some time since he last saw her, and though he was not part of her team, another Ninja returned was always a tender moment. Last he remembered, she took time to train. Maybe she had become a formidable opponent for Raizo to face off with, that would interest him...

Dipping his head down and crossing his arms, Raizo closed his eyes.

"It seems Kotomi has returned, Asami."

Silence fled the stadium the moment Atsu Sensei announced the graduating Chunnin of the Leaf. Hollering supportively the surrounding crowd jumped to their feet, clapping wondrously as the next generation of ninja strived towards a better future. Rinne grinned at the realization of his accomplishments and those of his teammates. He couldn't help but grin at Sajin's reaction to it all. His gaze returned forward, nodding at his Sensei and mouthing his thanks before bowing. He then searched the crowd for his mother, unable to find her but feeling her presence in the sea of people. He bowed again, hoping she'd see his gesture of gratitude. If it wasn't for her complete devotion to his dreams, Rinne wouldn't have been able to reach his goals. He stood in that arena because of her and he would forever be grateful.

The crowd continued to roar and so did Sajin. Rinne turned in hopes of congratulating him for their hard efforts, but the 'flame-on' rushed away. Rinne tilted his head to see where he was running to and when he realized his destination, his eyes opened unnaturally wide. "It can't be.....Kotomi?" he doubted, blinking rapidly and rubbing his eyes with the outer part of hands. When he realized her figure would not fade he blushed red, gulping at the sight of her transformation over the years. She looked very sophisticated and strong. The smile on her face also revealed a possible new personality he'd never seen before. She looked good - healthy.

Slowly Rinne made his way through the crowd - congratulating his fellow ninja with a bow and a smile. He thanked many of them for pushing him, for helping him get to where he was that day. He was truly grateful. Shaking off his nerves he gathered with his team, standing next to Sajin as he met the crew with a kindhearted twinkle in his eye. "Hey Kotomi...it's nice to see you back," he expressed, quickly putting his hand on Sajin's shoulder and congratulating his comrade. They finally made it. "We should celebrate and catch up?" he suggested, hoping to get Team 6 somewhere more intimate where they could speak and not have to shout over the bellowing crowd. He was happy to see Kotomi back, he'd missed her.

Rinne then realized they were missing a teammate. He hadn't seen him in the crowd when everyone went nuts. How could he miss Futuba, the tallest Chunin of them all.

coollogo_com-22370948.pngAsami.jpgAsami stood up in the stands clapping her hands for her team, they finally passed the Chuunin exams and they did very well she was so proud! Waving down at her team she gave them a thumbs up with a big grin. As per typical Raizo and Kikyo were taking the win quite stoically. Unlike both Hisui of team 8 and Sajin of team 6 who started up with their theatrics around the arena that she couldn't help but giggle over as they celebrated their victory. She always found those two amusing and though they weren't apart of her team they were still her comrades. But when Sajin suddenly stopped his flaming escapade and bolted towards one of the entrances to the arena, Asami frowned in confusion. What could possibly stop the hothead from his walk of fame? Her curiosity was only heightened when Rinne joined in whatever Sajin was going toward as well. It took a moment for the subject of their excitement to reveal themselves and another few moments for Asami to realize just who it was. Swallowing hard Asami couldn't believe her eyes, Kotomi looked a little different, she had grown, but she was still the sister she remembered. She returned! And no worse for wear by what she could tell. It felt like her heart had skipped a bit as she witnessed Kotomi greet her teammates.

A small part of her was disappointed that her sister had sought out her team before her own sister. But the overwhelming happiness and relief that flooded through her was more than enough to make that feeling go away. She had one of the few people she loved most in the world back in her life, the last 2 years she had been worried sick over her sister's well being since she was forbidden from communicating with Kotomi during her training. Unable to just sit back and watch any longer Asami bolted from her seat and dashed through the halls until she came upon the same entrance Kotomi had arrived from. She could see the brunette conversing with her teammates and though she hated to interrupt their reunion, she couldn't help herself. With a beeline straight for Kotomi's back the redhead tackled her sister to the ground in a giant hug. "Kotomi!!"

Nestled deep within the lower level of the stands, seemingly immune to the excited chaos erupting around her, perched Kikyo on the edge of a bench occupied by her equally as quiet white-haired teammate. A faint smile playing on her lips and the couple of kikaichu running victory laps across the exposed skin on her wrist were the only signs of her heightened emotional state, the shine in her eyes disguised by the dark-tinted glasses she was sporting today. Otherwise, the girl seemed relatively unaffected, bored if the slouch in her shoulders was any connotation.

Tilting her head upward, Kikyo caught her more enthused teammate - Asami's - animated gestures up above and as usual the girls energy was all at once infectious, leaking into Kikyo's mood. It wouldn't kill her to be a little more openly enthused would it? Maybe a victory lap or two or a celebratory dinner would help her to exercise those excited emotions. She was just turning to murmur something of that effect to Raizo when her eyes caught on a distinctly familiar figure in the distance, the other members of her peer group dashing over only making its emergence that much more conspicuous.

Was that - ?

Raizo's words were enough confirmation for Kikyo, the Aburame glancing at the person she knew would undoubtedly be the most excited for this, Asami, who was already dashing over like a horde of horde of honeybees were right on her trail. Following the Nara's line of sight back to Kotomi, Kikyo took in the girl with a shrewd eye, avidly searching for any disintguishable changes. Of course, only the physical was obvious from this distance, any changes the Nara had undertaken emotionally or physically-wise were less distinguishable. That didn't stop curiosity from pricking at the her, the dark-haired girl briefly letting her gaze distractedly touch over the visible insects on her wrist before ushering them back into the confines of her coat as she came to a decision.

Determinedly getting to her feet, Kikyo let her eyes meet Raizo's as she smoothed out the wrinkles in her bulky coat.

"We should probably go get Asami, say hey to Kotomi. Shocker that she's back so suddenly, after so long," Kikyo broke off momentarily, an incredulous little chuckle issuing from her lips before she continued on. "then maybe a celebratory team dinner? I was thinking ramen and gyoza, but its kind of up for debate."

Yuko Kitsunaka

Yuko was initially surprised by Hayato grabbing her and would have tried to escape his grasp if he wasn't a trusted ally and friend. Now on her teammate's shoulders, she was even more swept up in the hype. She used her clan's ninjutsu to form two flaming fox tails and pointed them toward the air; laughing excitedly as she made her own peace signs with her hands in the air.

When Hayato stopped running, she stopped channeling her flame tails as she slid off his shoulders and let out a contented sigh (the kind that happens after a good laugh) after touching the ground. She could still feel the buzz of excitement flowing through her and the antics of her teammates didn't help get rid of it (not that she wanted it to end right now.) She smiled and gave Hayato and Hisui a thumbs up, acknowledging their requests. Her smile grew larger at the mention of root beer. In her opinion, root beer was the best soda ever. She couldn't help but notice that some of her tastes had rubbed off on her friend over the years.

"What about you, Matsuda?" she asked. She hadn't heard him make a treat request yet. "One way or another, we gotta celebrate this achievement. If you're worried about paying me back, don't be. After all, what's a big sister for?" she asked causally, referencing her self-proclaimed nickname as she smirked warmly.

[div class=card][div class=cardinfo][div class=textparent][div class=textchild]Passing the Chunnin Exams was something they had been training for awhile now. A lot had come and gone in the time of their training. Enough to where he would even come to calling those of his team, friends. Even if he never said it flat outright. Still feeling the aftermath of their battles and hardships Matsuda gave a small sigh as the intensity in his eyes finally left with business being all said and done. "We did....yes." he said calmly back to Yuko as he crossed his arms watching the rest of his team go wild in their celebratory moment. While he did not join them in their victory laps he did hold a small genuine laugh to the sight. A rare occurrence for certain. "Somehow all of you still had so much energy...call me confused." he said lightly.

Looking at his sensei out of the corner of his vision he would give a brief nod before Yuko's voice brought him back to the moment. "I can't deny that..." he grumbled slightly, while he had made strong progress with his social skills and willingness to become more outgoing in great thanks to Hayato there was still a bit more work to iron out. Almost declining he instead nodded knowing he would repay her in some shape or form one of the these days. "What ever the plan is I'm game then." he said with a nod before he would turn giving one last look at the entire situation. Each step they encountered was challenging except the written portion at least for Matsu. While he had won in his own dueling event as well....he had much to improve on. The other Hyuga he faced....played an excellent mental game. It was clear from the start the ninja had determination to win against the tainted criminal's son. That along with the fact Matsu could not find the emotion to conjure his sharingan nearly lost him the fight.

He would rectify his mistakes and polish his movements a bit with a bit more training after he gave himself and the team a day to treat themselves at the very least. But as he began to look back, his eyes caught a very familiar and unforgettable sight. Immediately after, the sight would even be confirmed by a few screams from those of the neighboring Team 6.

"Kotomi.." he whispered to himself as his eyes had fallen to her. A mixture of emotions left to him as he stole a few more moments of her seeing her happily begin to reunite with her teammates."Clean up a bit and then meet up somewhere then?" Matsu offered distracting himself as in truth he had no idea what he would say to her after so long and well..their last meeting.[/div][/div][/div][div class=name]Matsuda Uchiha[/div][div class=img]

Kotomi maneuvered through the stands as she’d weave her way through the crowds. Her violet hues would seek out a familiar face as she came to the upper grounds to look about. In a sudden movement, a hand would lightly clamp down to her shoulder as a familiar cloud of smoke weaved around her head. A simple smile would steal against her lips as the name would fall in a hushed whisper of excitement.” Anu Sensei..” She’d move in a quick turn upon her heel to meet his look with pure excitement.” Well, Well.. If it isn’t the other missing piece to my team. Decided to finally wander on back to us, Kid?” He jested as his look warmed behind the smoke to how much she had grown. To see how greatly she had grown to look like that of Azura herself and how it clenched his heart to be reminded of his lost teammate. Kotomi couldn’t contain herself much longer as she tossed her arms around his neck to hug tightly to. Happiness knew no bounds in her look as his arms would secure around her to hold her close.” I missed you, Kid..” He’d utter plainly whilst Kotomi smiled softly and closed her eyes as she hugged him tightly.” Missed you too, Sensei..” Kotomi whispered to him as the cheers of the crowd drowned out their small moment together and left. In that moment, he’d draw back and place a hand to her shoulder as his head would give a nod towards the arena.” Best let them all know that you’ve returned.” Anu would say with a slight grin twinged at his mouth as Kotomi gave a faint laugh and turned away to bound down the steps. With a small jump, she landed down infront of the rail that separated the crowd from the participants. Her body would give a small lean into the rail as her cheers echoed alongside the crowds as she waved to them. It didn’t take long for her to spot Sajin bouncing up and down in the arena.

Laughter would spill freely from her lips to the sight as he called out her name loudly. She’d all but lean over the rail as Kotomi beamed a warm smile his way. Her head though would give a tilt to the side as she noted Rinne at his side about to speak only for Sajin’s hyper nature to send him barrelling in a run to the stands. A sympathetic smile would form to her lips as her head would whip around to Sajin already moving to near her as the puffs of smoke held around him. A bit of laughter fell freely to the sight as she would turn to face him with her hands steadily upon her hips.” That flaming spirit literally never changes, does it?” She teased him as Anu had come to stand behind Kotomi to watch his team finally begin to reunite to what they one had been. Kotomi’s orbs would widen to the sight of Rinne approaching as he had notably grown taller in her time away. A warm smile would break to her rose tinted lips as she took that moment to swing her arms around both their necks. She’d draw her body in close to them both as Kotomi hugged them tightly. Tears would well within her orbs as she clung closely to them.” You have no idea just how much I missed you two.. Rinne, Sajin.. I hope you guys have been doing good without me around.” She said in a soft tone to them as a sense of relief washed over her to be near her friends again. Kotomi would draw back enough to slide her hand to both their cheeks as happy laughter spilled forth.” Congrats though! You guys are finally Chunnin with me!” She exclaimed quite pleased with their progress to becoming such. They really had grown into amazing men.. Kotomi thought silently to herself only to blink back to the current conversation at hand.” Oh yes, that sounds like a solid plan for us to do. I’ve missed having actually decent food anyway.” She said with a small chuckle as Kotomi moved back a bit to gather herself.

Her lips were all about to part to speak further to her team as she heard her name echo from the entry point. Quickly, her head would whip around to behold the sight of Asami charging forward like a flaming fireball. Kotomi’s orbs would begin to widen further as Asami’s speed would not slow whilst her hands outstretched infront of her in a shake.” Asami.. Asami… Slow down!” She called out to her in a pleading tone for her to stop as Kotomi braced herself for what was to come. Without fault, her sister crashed heavily into her as Kotomi coughed out in a small breath as they crashed to the ground. As the dust settled around them, Kotomi felt a small grin edge against her lips as a single eye peered at her.” Is that your way of saying you missed me? By making sure I may not be able to move around again?” She teased her as her arms would secure in a tight hug to Asami as both seemingly giggled between each other. Her forehead would give a small rest to her own.” Missed you too, Little sister..” She answered with a warmth flowing from those words as Kotomi eased up with her. Her hand would lightly ruffle to her hair in that moment.” I take it that you and your team will want to join us to catch up?” She asked only for her gaze to steer off to the side to the sound of a name she hadn’t heard in so very long. A glimmer of sadness mixed with love would turn to the sight of Matsuda held down below. Their gazes alone would briefly meet as a small smile would form at her lips as she mouthed her words to him.” Missed seeing you, Matsuda.” She’d say as her own mind stemmed back to that final meeting. That singular moment, where she had expressed her love for him and that she would make sure he’d smile one day again. To her, that wasn’t a lie and a truth she stood by in her mind. Her dark locks would spin behind her in the wind as she turned her look back to her team and sister.

Well then, what are we waiting for? Let’s go celebrate today!

Yuko and Hisui got into the victory spirit, along with Hisui’s cat Mitsuki, who was the honourary fifth member of Team 8. He laughed as Mitsuki leapt gracefully over him, and Hisui, less gracefully, landed on the arena floor next to him. Yuko had managed to keep her feet though. He felt truly part of the team as they all ran through their antics, and gave their suggestions for what food and drink Big Sister Yuko would buy them. His suggestion of root beer was more an inside joke with Yuko. Because of how much she liked the strange tasting drink, Hayato had made an effort to try to get to like it. He wasn’t sure if he loved it or hated it, but still continued to drink it, especially when Yuko was around. “Mitsuki’s going to need a big tin of cat food,” Hayato said when Hisui stated his preference.

Hayato was exhausted but couldn’t contain his happiness at their combined success at the exams, and leaned back on his hands, basking in the joy of being surrounded by his team-mates. Although, there was one person who hadn’t engaged in the crazy circus show, and that was Matsu. When Yuko asked him about what he wanted, Hayato turned towards him, then got up and walked over to his friend, determined to drag the quiet one in. “Maybe don’t drag out your fight so much next time,” he teased Matsu, “save some energy for the victory dance…” he draped an arm around Matsu’s neck and briefly tugged, knowing when to let go before Matsu got too annoyed, through long experience.

“Great, let’s go!” Hayato suggested, before he saw Matsu’s gaze grow distant. He followed the Uchiha’s eyes over to the young woman coming down into the arena and greeting her team. Kotomi. She’d been away for years, but it was still recognisably her. It seemed a bit suspicious to Hayato that she had gone away for some secret training. She had always been a stand-out among their class, an exceptional shinobi candidate. Maybe that was why he was suspicious, maybe he was just a bit jealous of people who had everything come easily to them. Not to mention this strange hold she had over Matsu. It was obvious why he now wanted to meet up with his team-mates later… “Clean up? Let’s just go right now. No one cares that you’ve got arena dust all over you. It’s evidence that we fought hard and won,” he said. Kotomi would want to catch up with her team-mates and sister anyway… Hayato waited intently for Matsu’s answer, hoping the others would be able to help persuade him to keep the team together and go celebrate.

"CHESTOOOOO!!!!"

Sajin roared out once more, a bellowing flame shot into the air. "My belly rumbles for food, I've got no time! Gotta find Old Man and get ICE-CREAM!!!!!" Sajin's gleaming blue-green eyes lit up at the mention of the sea-salt flavored delicacy. Though he would love to stay and catch up with his friends, his mind was on the soft, rectangle shaped, cream-like bar of ice-cream. He would be sure to buy extra for the rest of them when he got to Old Man. With a passing wave to his team-mates as he moved beyond them. His furious sprint was stalled by none other than Old Man himself. Having attended the Exams to promote his treats to the audience.

"Old Man! AHA! You came to watch your #1 customer become a Chunin?!"

"No. I came to sell my ice-cream."

"GAH! Old Man you're so heartless! I worked extra hard you know!" With a toothy grin, Sajin crossed his arms.

With a chuckle, the old man shook his head as he opened his ice-box. Pulling out 6 sticks of ice-cream neatly sealed in a clear plastic bag. "Give these to your team, and the rest can be yours to do whatever you want with, Sajin. Congratulations, kid." The Old Man handed off the prize to Sajin, and wheeled himself away.

Sajin on the other hand exploded with glee, making ever so carefully sure that he did not melt the ice-cream inside their packaging. He strode back to his friends, Slapping a ice-cream bar in Rinne's and Kotomi's hand. "CELEBRATION TIME~!" He would wait to give Futuba theirs when they arrived to the get-together. In the mean-time, he handed one off to Asami as well. It was only right to do so.
"EAT UP! This is my welcome home gift to you Kotomi, as well as my prize for becoming a Chunin!" His mouth watered as he slid the plastic packaging off the bar. Oogling it with such love and delicacy.

Raizo scoffed at Kikyo's idea. "Celebrate? There is nothing to celebrate. This wasn't an accomplishment for me to say the least. This was expected. As for you and Asami it could be different. Although if you're inviting, then I'll go." Raizo stood up, the iron sand dissipating in the wind while he kicked his shoes back into place with his feet. "Let's make it quick, shall we? I can't stand 5 minutes with that red-headed torch."

It came to him as a surprise that Sajin passed, perhaps even loud idiots are able to get lucky. Rarely did Raizo ever believe anyone was equal to his skills; but recently Sajin has been making waves with his self-crafted Jutsus. Ingenuity and practicality wasn't words Raizo would describe the fool. It only bugged him that it seemed Sajin was finally growing out of the phase he was back in the Academy. His chaotic nature and chakra levels would ruin lessons for the day and complicate matters when he couldn't control his excitement for those days.

Even if it was a fleeting thought, one that came and went as quick as blinking one's own eye.. Raizo thought that Sajin could very well be his equal. And as much as he'd hate to admit that, the possibility was still there. Raizo only smirked after the thought passed. "In time, I'll see where your growth ends, red-head." Raizo muttered to himself silently.

"Let's go then, Kikyo. Might as well grab Asami before she too gets roped into that loud idiot's charisma."

Rinne wasn't a hugger, but when Kotomi embraced him, it felt like the best thing that had ever happened to him. He tingled at the warmth she produced and the soft giggles that echoed in his ear. As she pulled away the sun started to shine again behind her and she beamed down on them like an angel. Her single pinch of his cheek turned him red, forcing a blush, a gulp and a nervous side-eye he wasn't manly enough to yet restrain. He felt like a child and Kotomi was his first crush.

Rinne then returned his gaze, meeting her colored eyes and in hopes of speaking to her more privately. However, before he could let out a single word, Asami attacked! Her body flew over the guardrail and crashed against Kotomi violently. Rinne's heart raced and he rushed over the railing himself only to find the two sisters laughing and hugging at their longed for reunion. The crowd around them too distracted with the ninja in the coliseum did not take notice. Rinne crossed his arms and smiled, offering a hand to get the two ladies back on their feet. It was nice to see Asami - Rinne was amazed to see her transformation over the years too.

As soon as the crew was composed, Rinne couldn't help but notice Kotomi's eyes dart away from everyone as her expression became more stilled. Like clockwork, Sajin had returned just that second with a handful of treats for the gang to liven the party - good ol' Sajin's high-spirits never failed. Rinne bowed at the ice-pop offering and took one delightedly. He turned towards the arena in hopes of engaging with whatever caught Kotomi's attention. As his vision sharpened on the headbands still in the sands, he held no doubts of what distracted her - Matsuda, the Uchiha burdened by bad blood and a horrific past.

Rinne never understood the history between Matsuda and Kotomi - neither did he have the right to be informed of such private issues. Even so, he could feel the never-ending tension between them and it hurt to know Kotomi was weighed down by it. Rinne believes Matsuda to be one of the strongest and most talented Shinobi in their class, but for him to cause turmoil in their team was unacceptable. In respect of both the team and herself, Kotomi was better off moving on, Rinne just wished he could tell her that...

Hoping to distract himself from bad thoughts, Rinne's attention returned to his team. "Alright team, let's go get some real food," he directed, starting up the stairs and letting the others follow suit. "This popsicle is magnificent Sajin, thank you so much."

---

Walking the streets of Konoha with the team brought back old memories. Rinne would go down memory lane and envision the simpler days as kids. Their missions were simple, but awesome back then. Now they seemed to be growing up more rapidly than ever before and the desire to take on bigger tasks matched their ambitions as ninja. The team for the majority of their formation had been in good standing. They were always accountable....., even Sajin. There were rocky moments at times, typically when personal matters affected the team's performance, but for the most part, they were graded fairly and learned a lot from Anu Sensei. Rinne sometimes missed it.

Anyhow, as they started to reach their weekly ramen shop, nostalgia washed over. All those sunny, rainy, cold and hot nights spent over a glorious bowl of ramen spiraled in Rinne's mind. Stopping in his tracks, Rinne took a deep breath, belly churning for the contents in those large porcelain bowls. The smell of fine pork over a subtle miso soup made his mouth water and his brain stop thinking. Rinne wasn't a big foodie before, but no one made ramen like this anywhere in the Konoha. He turned back over to Kotomi and Sajin, smiling at them both. "My treat, so have whatever and as much as you want," he stated, regretting saying that to Sajin as soon as the offering left his lips.

Scooting over to Kotomi's side, Rinne put his hands in his pockets as his eyes washed over the ramen shop. "It hasn't changed has it?"

The shop was said to have been open for almost fifty years now, never once changing its walls or its will to serve and fill bellies. The small shop seemed a little run down, a bit overshadowed by it's environment and growing competition, but it was full of character that could not be replicated. The owner would share so many amazing tales of people from all over the world coming to his little abode to eat his noodles. He'd host Hokage of the past and present, feeding them a secret recipe only he knew by heart. The old man was still kicking, eighty plus years old and still bearing a smile for every customer that walked into his restaurant. It was inspiring what a dreamer could do - what a little luck and a little hope could accomplish.

Still gazing the abyss, Rinne spoke once again. "I want to be the next Hokage, Kotomi," he started, pausing to let his aspiration be understood and processed by his teammate. "I know it's absurd, but...I really think I can do it. I love this place and everyone in it...." he paused again, turning to face her. "...but I can't get there on my own. I need you and Sajin by my side. I guess...I guess what I'm trying to say is...." he paused a third time to clear his throat. "...please don't leave again. I-we need you here." It was time to man up.

Yuko Kitsunaka

"Lost in thought, huh?" Yuko nonchalantly stated, smiling as she addressed Matsuda. She was used to his distant personality, but that didn't stop her from wondering what he was thinking about. She guessed it was something related to the chunin exam; completing it was a big accomplishment after all. "I offered to buy you something at the general store, and then we could just hang out, shoot the shit for a while." It wasn't the most elaborate plan, but she wasn't much of a planer anyway.

As she waited for a reply, she began to be more aware of the goings on of the other teams, they also had a good reason to celebrate. She soon noticed the Hokage's eldest daughter and her warm welcome from Team Six. Yuko started to put the dots together. Kotomi was more of an acquaintance to her back when she was around. As the town delinquent, picking fights whenever she was riled up, Yuko was lucky to maintain a small circle of friends growing up, but Kotomi was always near that circle. They probably said hi a few times, but they just lived in two separate worlds. However, she did know that Kotomi and Matsuda had been friends before she left, and it looked like he was staring at her now.

Yuko let out a sigh. "Do what you gotta do, Matsuda. We're gonna go to the general store. You better show up at some point, or we're going to be disappointed; It won't be a team celebration without you."

~
Moments later, whether Matsuda was with them or not, Yuko lead Team Eight to the general store. She knew that place like it was the back of her hand. It was her turf, her home away from home, but it was also more than that, it was a place that had helped her friend circle grow a little.

"Hey Hisui, would Mitsuki be up for guarding that table over there?" Yuko asked, eyeing a table out on the deck. "It could be her first Chunin mission," she added, still excited about passing the exam,

coollogo_com-22370948.png Asami.jpgLaughing wholeheartedly Asami would give Kotomi a hug to make up for the last 2 years before releasing her and standing up with Rinne's help. "Maybe...Sounds like a good plan to me." She teased her sister back with a smile. To her offer Asami's eyes would glance over to her teammates that were now heading over to the group of them. "Well this is their celebration so I will let them choose but I would be delighted to join you and your team Kotomi." Blinking at Sajin as he handed her a popsicle, she was surprised at the sudden act of kindness even though she wasn't his teammate. "Oh...Thank you Sajin, you didn't have to..." She seems at a loss for words as she opens the cold treat and savors it with a smile.

Her gaze turning to Raizo and Kikyo as they approach she gives a wave to them. "Congratulations you two! You did amazing!" She would gently pat their shoulders as she enthusiastically congratulated them on their victory. "Kotomi invited us to go with their team to have a celebration dinner, would you guys like to join? Whatever you want, it's on me." She inquired her golden eyes bright with pride and happiness. It was rather uncommon for Asami to show so much emotion but today was a good day and she couldn't help the joy she felt. Not only did her team pass the Chuunin exams but Kotomi was back and well, what more could she ask for?

If Kikyo and Raizo agreed to join team 6 they would all depart together. If not Asami would split off from team 6 and celebrate with her own team wherever they chose.

He praised her and she purred in approval. Looking over to Yuko and Matsuda he decided to keep out of the conversation there, it was Matsuda's choice how he wanted to celebrate afterall. Turning his attention over to Hayato, smirking at his comment to Mitsuki's meal. "Watch it or she might take a bite out of you as a snack." He teased his teammate with a chuckle before continuing "A big slab of meat is more to her liking." With that Hisui would follow Yuko out of the arena and into the village, holding his hands behind his head.

~~~~~~~~~~
Once they arrived at the general store Hisui was already pilling up his arms full of treats when Yuko requested Mitsuki's services. Grinning he looks over to the tiger. "You bet she can, none shall dare pass her." Mitsuki understanding would trot over to said table and stand guard, looking as intimidating as possible without going full combat form. Once Hisui was satisfied with his armful of snacks mostly consisting of jerky and sweet dumplings he would grab a Cream soda then move over to the counter to join Yuko and Hayato.
When Matsu's eyes caught those of Kotomi his gaze would widen ever so slightly as they acknowledged the other. He felt a rush of anxiousness briefly pass for a single moment as he was faced with their last meeting as well as all that had happened. He did not know what to expect but his eyes were able to pick up her words as he focused on her lips. His own parting slightly before the commotion and plans individually between both teams would take his attention once more. Facing his group and putting the moment aside for now. Getting tugged aside by Hayato in a way he had slightly been adjusting to. The new Chunnin gave a light groan but otherwise held his gaze to the side. That fight reminded him of what their sensei and the Hokage had repeatedly confronted him on. He was denying a great portion of his abilities and holding back when it came to the Sharingan.
"Ah right. That sounds fine then." he said calmly now looking between his teammates with a shy smile. "I guess I can spare a bit of time for celebration. We did train hard for this after all. But both of you know sometime I will be paying you back right." he said scratching his head, only growing a bit more silent at Yuko's words. He simply had no way to respond. "Well...I..let's go." he said going ahead and taking the first step off with the team, dusting off himself a bit and taking one last look over his shoulder up at the viewing area above where the other team soon departed as well.
Grabbing a small snack of chips and getting a cup of tea, Matsu would take the seat across from Hisui and give a nod back to Yuko in silent thanks before beginning to open the bag and dig in. A slight unease held to the ninja due to the situation his team was familiar with by this point. He would stay silent and let his mind wonder for a bit and let his team begin the conversation for their celebratory 'meal'.
"Good job everyone.."
Hayato was relieved at how readily Matsu decided to come along with the rest of them to the general store. “Alright! Have you tried the root beer? If you hate it Onee-chan will disown you forever...” he said, patting Matsu on the shoulder as the group of them walked away. “Maybe we'll get her a burger!” he called out to Hisui in response.
The General Store held fond memories for Hayato, as this was the first place he had met Yuko. Despite being warned off from making friends with a girl most considered to be nothing but a street thug, he had ended up becoming friends with her anyway. Once they arrived, he immediately got everyone a root beer, and came back to the table on the deck that Yuko had earmarked with four bottles and a huge bag of chips held in his mouth.
He put the beers down on the centre of the table, jolting little columns of fizz from the top of each as he slid into the seat next to Matsu and opposite Yuko. He dropped the bag of chips from his mouth directly onto the table surface. “Before you all start chowing down,” he said, looking each of them in the eye in turn, “we need to make a toast in root beer which is the official drink of Team Eight, to our luck, skill and downright stubbornness that got us past the chunin exam, and successful missions to come – as chunin and beyond! Cheers!” He picked up one of the root beers, chinked it against the others, and took a big glug. It seemed especially good after all the dust of the arena, even if he still wasn't sure he liked the taste.
“Now we know that the five of us can get through anything. Maybe it won't be a breeze, but we'll do it,” he said with a contented sigh and leaned his head on the back of his chair. Maybe next time he'd invite them all back for a home cooked meal... maybe.
Yuko Kitsunaka
Yuko grabbed her own bottle of root beer and a pre-made burger from the sandwich section. She was the last one out of Team Eight to get in line at the register, mostly because she was going to pay for everything. Seeing the four bottles of root beer that Hayato brought up brought a smile to her face. A thought about putting her own root beer back crossed her mind, but she loved the drink so much she decided an extra one couldn't hurt. She was so jazzed about passing the Chunin Exam, caffeine or no caffeine, she probably wasn't going to get much sleep either way.
Yuko sat down at their table and slouched a little in her chair like a cool delinquent. "Hell ya! I'll drink to that," she said, setting aside the soda she bought for herself and grabbing one of the ones that Hayato brought over. "Cheers!" With an infectious grin on her face, Yuko raised her bottle and started to clink it against the others. She then guzzled down a couple swallows, wiped her mouth with her arm, and sighed contently.
"Hell ya we'll do it!" she exclaimed, fire in her voice. She rapped her arms around Hisui's and Matsuda's shoulders, pulling them in close in a sisterly, mob-boss kind of way. She would have included Hayato in the group huddle, but he was sitting on the other side of the table. "Nothing is gonna keep us down! I'll punch through anything, and if that doesn't work, I know you boys have my back!" She grinned.
"CHESTOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Roared out the hot-blooded youth as the chains were finally cast away. Rinne allowed Sajin anything he wanted; His mouth watered with gluttonous intent as he checked off multiple ingredients, items, and extra meat, noodles, and veggies in his ramen bowl. Though Sajin was glad Kotomi returned, he didn't seem to make it a priority to talk to her. Sajin bounced from one thing to another and his mind would never stop moving towards the next thing. Currently, free food was all that mattered to him. He had made it; Finally a Chunin, and in his heart and soul he knew that deserved some good eats, to skimp out on such a celebration would be unseemly! The crooked fanged smile he wore as he swayed in his seat with excitement for delicious ramen could have been wholesome and cute.
Although with Sajin, cute and wholesome rarely worked in his favour. Smoke and embers huffed from his mouth and it was evident that Sajin couldn't contain that boundless excitement at the moment. If unnoticed, Sajin could very well start a fire. "Food, food, food, food, food, food, FOOOD~!" Sajin sung to himself, totally unaware of his current smoky breath.
Remembering his forgotten manners, he turned to Rinne with a devilish smile. "Rinne! I forgot to say thanks for the free food! Hope you don't mind but I got extras in my bowl!" He showed Rinne the slip...That order alone could almost hit 1,000 yen. (Almost $10). But as a teammate of Sajin should always know, it never ends with one bowl...Especially without side dishes to join in the fray of a feast. Perhaps Sajin was willing to share?
Yutifa_47.full.1187482.jpgWith mixed snacks of meat and sweets Hisui also grabs a large burger for Mitsuki before heading over to their table. Releasing his pile of goodies onto the table he grins big as he opens up the burger and tosses it into the air for Mitsuki to jump up and catch, swallowing almost whole as she does. Chuckling he grabs one of the Root Beer's Hayato bought for them and raises it along with the others. "I'm so pumped! I can't believe I finally passed that awful exam! And I couldn't of done it with a better squad, you guys are the best!" He exclaims happily as he clings his bottle with the others then takes a swig before setting it down and diving into his hoard of snacks. He had been to anxious about the final part of the exam to eat breakfast earlier and the battle really took it out of him so the boy was starving now.
Hisui already had a mouthful of jerky when Yuko wrapped her arm around him and pulled him into a hugged which he had to partially bend over for due to his height but he enjoyed the embrace nonetheless. Swallowing his large mouthful he beamed at her and the group. "As long as we stick together and watch each other's back we can get through anything! And if we need an extra hand....Mitsuki will never turn down a free meal." He states confidently then chuckles at the end. The tiger now finished with her burger and sitting beside him on the ground. At the mention of her name she looks up and gives a playful growl as she bares her fangs like she was agreeing with him. "Thank you for this treat Yuko-chan!" He continues after Sajin thanked her for his massive bowl of ramen reminding him of his manners.
