Every girl has a wish...

"Finally..." a weak voice murmured. The female tried to regain her balance, but she only fell down to the ground. She had countless wounds all over her body, and her clothes were tattered. "Finally...finally..." she repeated again, crawling slowly but surely. Bodies surrounded her, each bruised and beaten just like her. She ignored their moans of pain and small cries for help as she crawled forward.

You did it, a disembodied voice said. You really did it. She looked around, in search for the person the voice belonged to. "Where are...you?" she called out, still crawling. "Where? Where?" she asked once more.

I'm right here with you...didn't I tell you? I'm always with you. I was watching you. You did it!

To this, she smiled weakly. "I know..." She tried to stand up once again, this time succeeding. She was still barely able to walk, but she continued to head toward the direction of the voice. Her raven black hair fell over her face, her eyes hidden. Her smile formed a wicked grin now. "I did it...I really did it."

"Finally...I am the queen."

"This one is going to be a bit difficult to beat," Kou muttered to herself as she fired dozens of bullets at the creature coming to attack her. While the bullets did hinder it slightly, it continued making it's way toward her. She knew her battles wouldn't be a breeze all the time, but this was definitely an unusual case. As she stood up from her crouching position, her large cannon suddenly transformed into a blade. "Guess I have to attack him differently..."

She approached the monster cautiously. She swung the large blade toward him, but the creature dodged just in time. She groaned. "I have to get you!" She charged toward him and swung once again. This time, the blade inflicted a small wound onto the monster. "That's better."
The monster then attempted to attack her with his claws. She held up her blade to block the swipes. The raven-haired girl immediately lifted her blade. "I-I'm sorry, Mr. Monster." She swung in a downward motion, slicing the monster in half. It vanished into thin air.

"B-barrier down..." Kou said weakly. The abstract scenery surrounding her vanished suddenly. A barrier was basically a battlefield for magical girls such as herself. It allowed them to battle monsters without the worry of being caught by outsiders. "That was a tough one...I feel tired..." she yawned, then pulled her cellphone out of her bag.

The brightness of the screen blinded her momentarily, but she quickly regained her vision. The screen read "
23:36" in bold characters. "Oh, no!" she stuffed the phone back in her bag and began dashing home. "That battle took longer than expected...I hope they don't notice I'm gone." She said, referring to her parents. She wasn't allowed to tell any outsiders about the whole monster and magical girl business, so she had to sneak out at night to complete her duties. She hadn't been caught yet, and she'd like to keep it that way.

However, she halted suddenly when she noticed a small figure standing ahead of her. She immediately knew who it was. "Kimiu...? Is something wrong?" she kneeled down to look at the animal-like creature. She considered Kimiu a friend, in fact, probably her only one. She was too shy to talk to her classmates, so she had failed to make any.

(Kimiu´s POV: )

Shadows twirled in the night ahead of me, after I passed the barrier the light blue girl had set up. Sparks lit the way for my eyes to gaze upon the battle and follow it. She was doing a decent work as usual. Maybe excellent even. After all this time watching magical girls fight, anyone would start to get a little picker about who was or wasn´t all that impressive. Still, I had to admit, they all did a great job for their age.

Approaching a monster at night was a hard task by itself, though a lot of them had to resort to it to hide their identities. Unfortunately, their costumes often were poor help in that. Nor were they very effective for combat...I thought. It was hard to tell sometimes, how exactly everything worked. Even I myself didn´t know exactly what each magical girl had heard before making their wish, after all, they all heard what they needed to hear. All I provided was the details that needed to be covered. That they would become magical girls and have their wish granted.

I hopped to a corner the moment I heard the barrier was coming down. Being seen by anyone whom I couldn´t make into a magical girl meant I had limited chances of erasing their memory about it. And saying I was a normal creature would be an exaggeration in so many levels... But the girl´s voice seemed more calm even as I bent in the shadows, so she probably had dealt with the monster. Fine girl, that one. I honestly had hopes of someone like her becoming the queen. But in my situation, I couldn´t afford to be too picky. Not the way everything, the world was...

Loud steps echoed the grey streets. My eyes widened and I jumped back off my hideout.

"Oi!" I called the girl, and tried to dash to her. A failure, of course, I was far too small for that to really work. Fortunately she heard me and stopped, then turned to bend next to me. I sighed with relief.

"No, nothing. You did an excellent work there. How many does that make this week? Eight? Nine? Ten? Well, nevermind...may I?" I raised a paw, pointing at the girl´s shoulder. One good thing about being a furry little animal, there is always a place where you can lie to rest and it´s not like you´re bothering anyone, most of the cases. I for one, barely weighed anything. I smiled to the girl. "Well, I see you´re still fighting on your own. You are great at this...Did you manage to find any friends at school yet? Speaking of which, I have news. You´ll be moving to a new class."

"Nine," she answered, a small smile on her face. Kou had very few things to be proud about, and this was one of them. Even if she couldn't tell most about her skill, just knowing someone appreciated her was enough. She cupped Kimiu in her arms and allowed her to crawl up to her shoulder. She then stood up and continued walking.

"N-no..." she admitted. "Not yet. I think it may be too late. Everyone has already formed cliques, and no one seems interested in talking to me." She let out a soft sigh. Kou wanted friends, she really did, but it was hard for someone like her. Even when her classmates did approach her, she always seemed to mess things up.

"News?" she raised an eyebrow at that. If Kimiu had news, it was usually something bad. Last time he had news, it was about a powerful monster arriving in town. She prepared herself for what he was about to say. His words caught her off guard. "New class? W-what? Why? How?"

(Kimiu´s POV: )

I allowed myself to be picked up by her soft hands, then slithered up her arms to her shoulders where I laid in rest around her neck like a thick scarf. I hoped this didn´t bother her, as she had been fighting intensively , even if that monster wasn´t exactly top tier. I hoped she had time to learn and come together with others before the moment arrived when she had to face one.

"No friends yet, huh?" I sighed, looking down. Poor things, these magical girls, sometimes. It wasn´t like the world was much better to everyone else, but when you hang out with a given group more, you do tend to be more attached to them. To feel more compassion. Even if I knew I shouldn´t. I smirked. "Well, then my news will be even better."

I cleared my throat, putting a paw in front of my face as if coughing, then raised my gaze to moon proudly.

"Remember I told you I would try getting a job in your school so I could find a way to allow you to leave if necessary? Well, I managed. In fact, I even managed more: I convinced the principle to let me form a new class! There were SOME conditions, but I´m sure we´ll meet them. surely you can all have a B+ by the end of the semester...You and all the others. Hum, maybe I shouldn´t have told you that part. Could you keep it a secret? I don´t thin they know who the others are, and if they did, that probably would give me away..." I smiled nervously to Kou.

"Well...okay..." That was just great. A whole new group of people she would fail to impress. At least she would have something in common with her new classmates. That is, being a magical girl. "M-maybe I won't have to work alone anymore and I'll find a partner..." Kou mumbled, mostly to herself. While she didn't necessarily need a partner, she knew one would help out a lot in battles. Besides, if she got a partner, she would probably be able to make friends with them too. A two-in-one package.

Suddenly, Kou realized something. "You know, Kimiu, you're always talking about the 'others' but you never tell me who they are." she stated.

Yuki panted slightly as she landed back on her feet with a soft 'thud' and the sound of the ground skidding a bit under her feet as they made contact, her body still posed in the position of someone ready to take a hit as the barrier faded around her, her hair gently settling against her as her clothes and appearance returned to normal -not that her normal clothing was that 'regular' anyway- She stood there for a moment, taking in the quiet of the night briefly before allowing herself to return to a more relaxed position, she glanced around blankly, her eyes taking a few moments to adjust to her surroundings and the dim, yellow lighting of the park and the gentle breeze blowing peacefully as if an eerie calmness after the chaos.

She did a fist-pump and smirked with a small giggle,
"You're no challenge foolish monster for the demon lord and her commanding general!~" she called out cheerfully, placing her hands on her hips smugly and taking a step forward before immediately face-planting into the ground and rolling around pathetically, "Ah!? The monster's evil powers have temporarily robbed my leg of it's mighty power! how devious~…." she muttered as she looked up, face red from the fall as she continued to smirk and pull a questioning expression, "To restore my power and seal the beast within you must purchase me the supreme food of this world of which holds immense healing powers, Ramen!~" she said mischievously, staring at Asana with an expression not unlike that of a cat going after their prey.

"I'm sure you'll find an excellent partner for yourself, don't worry. And you'll make friends. Quite frankly, in fact, I hope you aren't the only one making friends. Several of the others could use some too."

I smiled to her, almost standing to leap off and let her go home when suddenly she added a question.

"I suppose. But it's for your own good. And I have regulations to obey. Under no circumstances can I give away the name of a magical girl to one who doesn't know her as a magical girl." I explained. It was mostly true. Some monsters were smart enough to capture and interrogate magical girls. In almost every situation, I couldn't just give away their names. Though, I was allowed to use t to persuade someone into becoming a magical girl.

I leaped off the girl, awkward questions were over.

"Well, see you at school tomorrow. Don't be late for class!" I waved at her.

The gelatinous tiger's huge maw gaped at Tomomi, and she raised her minigun as she smelled its foul breath. She gagged loudly, but summoned two constructs to flank her, and sprayed bullets upon bullets into the open purple mouth. Goo flew all over the barrier's psychedelic mountain peak as the sound of gunfire shattered the calm, and two constructs that resembled three-dimensional puppy-shaped shadows appeared next to her, growling and ready to get between her and anything that came too close.

The monster roared in pain before it closed its mouth, jumped up, and charged at Tomomi and Gale. Tomomi stowed her minigun and sprinted towards the farthest edge of the peak, the two puppies getting run down quickly and dissolving into dark puffs. At the last second, Tomomi turned around, and fired nearly point-blank into the tiger.
"That's what you get for getting my dress gooey!" she screamed, as the gelatin began to look more like Swiss cheese. "Eat lead, you virus-ridden freak!"

She felt the urge to blanket the space around her with constructs as the tiger advanced further, and acted upon it before it pushed her inches from the edge. It felt like being enveloped in warm, growly goodness, although that goodness was being rapidly chewed through. It also gave her the opportunity to move ever so slightly away from the ledge, and draw the monster closer. "Gale, finish it off!"

@Ian Temero @Vague (I'm imagining the barriers look like a cross between Madoka's and Yuki Yuna's; is that accurate?)

Asana dove to the right, firing an arrow mid-way through, and almost immediately as it struck the beast, Yuki dashed forward, finishing it off, but getting knocked back slightly in the process. This monster was pretty easy to beat, considering when they were compared to past ones herself and Yuki had defeated, thus far. She rose from the ground, and noticed Yuki partially dazed, ending up observing the night carefully, herself., as the barrier faded away in a dance of light and color.

The silence, and stillness of the night, settled back in, no loud, bursting noises echoing through the streets. Everything seemed so calm, and at bay, but due to the battles magical girls like she waged, it was clear such peace was an illusion. She raised her head up to the moon, closing her eyes for a short moment to listen to the symphony the town sung, consisting of the gentle rustling of leaves, constant hoot of owls and occasional sound of flickering lights. Lowering her weapon, Asana glanced over at Yuki, who was clearly excited about their victory, as she always had been. Just if Asana could be that happy about something... why did she always have to be so dull? Oh, and utterly stupid, if on the train of thought.

Asana then noticed Yuki tripped, and directed her gaze towards her, managing a small smirk to form on her face.
"Ah, that's all you can talk about. Ramen, Ramen, and a lot more Ramen." she stated calmly, seeming just as cool and still as the now eerily quiet and mysterious night. "I won't buy it for you. But I'll come with you if you're that desperate." she added, biting her lip, thinking about how she could've worded that in a much nicer manner. Yet, certainly after that she'd have to get home. Despite having the duty of protecting a city, they still had school, and both responsibilities never really agreed with each other, giving Asana, and most likely Yuki, along with any other possible magical girl a tough time.

With a small smile on Asana's face, she nodded towards the direction of the nearest Ramen store.
"Shall we?"

Yuki pouted pathetically, arms stretched out in front of her, "Meanie~ How dare you disobey the demon lord! but- Since your efforts gave great help in our previous battle I shall forgive you for now~…." she mumbled stubbornly in reply, smirking as she go up and dusted herself off in a childish manner with a rather blank expression before giving her a small nod and look of determination settling on her face as she gave a thumbs-up sign as if giving her approval for them going.

She walked towards Asana and swiftly locked arms as she began off towards the shop with her usual smug look on her face, you could almost imagine a cat tail swaying around behind her happily Yuki never seemed bothered by how late she was out and almost seemed to avoid going home she was the kinda person to
'act first, think later' in most situations and the girl appeared to have an immeasurable amount of energy, it almost made you exhausted from simply watching her.

"I demand two bowls of yer' best ramen old man!~" she called out as she entered the store, the short jingle of the bell resounding through the otherwise empty shop, the man at the counter gave a nod and a chuckle, he was used to his rather 'regular' customer. Yuki dragged Asana over to some seats in the back and let go of the girls previously straggled arm sitting down on one of the old wooden chairs and kicking her legs back and forth as she waited for the Ramen to arrive, "Ramen time~ Ramen time~" she hummed cheerfully as she did so, spacing out a little.

Kou waved back, a shy smile on her face. "Bye, Kimiu!" Kimiu was one of the few people (or things?) she didn't feel too nervous around. She wished she could be that way with everyone, but life isn't that nice. As she made her way back home, she thought about going to a new class. She really hoped she would be able to make friends, though she truly doubted it.

It wasn't too long before Kou had made it back home. She climbed in through a window in the back which she'd left open before leaving. Walking in through the door was a mistake she'd made the first two times. Then she went up the steps as gently as possible, hoping one didn't decide it was a nice time to creak.

Sneaking to her room wouldn't be that hard if her little sister Kaede wasn't always up late. What was an 8 year old doing up so late anyway? Luckily, the young girl was asleep for once. Kou let out a small sigh of relief as she tiptoed to her room. She changed out of her uniform and into her pajamas before climbing into the futon on the floor.

"Goodnight..." she muttered to herself as her eyes fluttered close.

( @Mollisol - Yes.)

(Kimiu's POV: )

"Well then, I suppose I should get myself some dinner." I commented as the girl walked away. Where should I try tonight? I closed my eyes. If the instincts weren't wrong , Asana and Yuki were at a ramen place right now. Maybe if I hopped over, they would still be open. But could I really go over to the place? I mean, it was rather possible they held a certain...grudge. Understandably. Only one thing was certain when I tried to convince people to become magical girls, and that was that if it was possible to convince them to do it, my magic would. And then, I would grant a wish and who knew what kind of side-effect would show up. Usually, I didn´t stick around to watch. After getting beat up by a few of those girls a few times, I came to realization I not only wasn´t guaranteed to have a friendly relantionship with the magical girls, it was actually more likely that they would be very angry at me. Especially after it all had sinked in. That they just gave away a great part of their lives for a wish, that they had signed a contract of endless fighting. If they found themselves in that kind of pit, anyone would blame the one that threw them in there. At least, as far as I could see, this would eventually be how they saw it.

My stomach cut my thoughts, making me realize I didn´t really have time for philosophically embracing my experiences. Now was time to fill that gap. Even if I couldn´t get sick, I still needed to eat and drink and sleep. Sleep...The very thought of the word made me want to close my eyes, just a little. I shook my head, as I needed to sleep in the right place, or I would be late right on my first day as their new teacher. I wondered how THAT would go...

I looked around for about a quarter of hour or so, nose twitching in every direction. Finally, I came across a trash can that wasn´t infested with anything that could swallow me whole, and I climbed it. The fresh-looking yogurts and the can bar made me thank God for overprotective mothers, as these were just slightly off their expiration date. I hoped in for the feast.

[A few hours later, morning, 8 A.M]

I yawned, pushing myself into all fours, stretching my entire body with a smile on my face. So, it was time. I scouted my surroundings for people, before leaping off and being enveloped in a cloud of smoke that quickly vanished, leaving me to land head-first into the concrete, now as a human rather than the ferret creature that was my real form. I stood, rubbing my head.

"T-t-t-t-t-t-t..." I complained, as I made my way towards the school. Those magical girls would have a surprise when their names were called to join the new class...

Yamazaki Gale

11:00 pm - Streets of Nara

O9GbJ.jpg

"Okie-dokie!" Gale called out, dropping out of the sky right behind the monster. Thrusting her hands forwards she created a gust of wind that blasted the tiger off the edge. She watched as it bounced down the mountain for a few seconds before turning to Tomomi. "Aw, I think he fell for me." She snickered. Call it corny, but Gale saw it as kind of her duty to make these serious battles a little less so. With a splat the monster final hit the bottom and as they watched it began to pick itself up again... until the small girl dropped a bolt of lightning on it.

"Guess that one was a little tougher than usual..." she remarked as the chard body began to disappear. Then she grinned.

"... What a shocker."

"Gale," a gentle voiced called her name. "Gale sweety, you need to get up."

But I don't want to get up, Gale told the voice as she floated on a cloud of puppies. Reaching into the cloud, she pulled out a fluffy kitten and began petting it, giggling as it started to purr.

"Gale, you need to wake up." the voice said again.

Why? she finally asked.

"You're going to be late for school."

School? Slowly, reluctantly, the fifteen year old open her eyes. The first thing she saw was her mother standing next to bed. Then she saw the clock behind her. 8:30.

"Chikush?!" Gale cried out, now fully awake. She tried to leap out of bed but her foot got caught in the sheet so she fell out of bed instead. Laughing, she picked herself up, threw off her pajamas, and began tearing her closet apart as she searched for her school uniform...

Taken aback slightly by Yuki's immediate action to get her Ramen, Asana got looped up quickly into Yuki's arms, and was forced to keep up at her pace, even though seemingly impossible with the boundless, and eternal energy she appeared to have. The smug look that was brandished upon her face would almost never disappear. Nonetheless, she ran along, and they entered the Ramen store soon after, the chime echoing around the building, which was very tranquil, which could only be expected at such a time of night.

The Ramen was served immensely quickly, due to the fact they were the only ones within the store. She was glad that it had arrived fast, and equally as happy to gobble it down. Although, once she had, Asana stood from the table.
"I have to go now, Yuki. It's really late, and we still have to wake up early tomorrow." She stated, abruptly stopping and yawning, then continued speaking. "I'll see you then, g'night." followed by swiftly spinning on her heels, heading towards the door, but taking a slight detour towards the counter to leave a tiny tip, but once she had done so, directly stepping into the piercing cold night.

Hastily, Asana walked home, arms hugging around herself to conserve body heat, and made it back to her small apartment room type thing in record time, yet conveniently, when opening the door with ultimate caution, it creaked loudly, making herself jump slightly, and run into the room, shutting the door quickly, just in case someone woke, due to the sudden noise. Nonetheless, she got ready for bed, like any other girl, and climbed into her bed.

The soft sound of crickets nearby made a cacophony of noise, but to Asana, it was more like a soothing, and warming lullaby, as she knew they'd always be there... and thus, she drifted into the night's pure grasp; sleep.

The Next Morning...

But it felt like minutes, then a beeping noise blared into her ear, roaring at her to go to school. Groggily, she picked herself up, stumbling a few times, but not caring in the slightest as she prepared for school. Her mind tried to move at a fast pace, and get Asana ready for the ever approaching time of which she had to be at school, but her body didn't agree, being deprived from sleep and energy. Although, eventually, she was ready, and just checked her final things before heading out her door, attempting to wake herself up with some on-the-go breakfast.

"Ramen!~" she called out happily as it arrived, fist-pumping as she stood up before swiftly sitting back down and digging-in eagerly, laughing as she ate and nodding as Asana said she was going to leave, "Night!~" she called out, "You're relieved of your duty general for now, please enjoy your slumber whilst I patrol the night and make sure our army's remain in top shape!~" she added quickly after the 'almost-normal' previous statement.

After Asana had left Yuki sat there with a sigh and an empty bowl,
"On the tab as usual?" the old man asked with a gentle smile, Yuki shook her head, "I'll pay up-front tonight~…. I finally gathered the all power object which humans hold in such regard named 'money'!~" she called over-enthusiastically "So you got your months allowance I see." he replied with a small laugh, Yuki puffed her cheeks out stubbornly, handing it to him, "Call it what you will peasant~…." she mumbled, grabbing her bag and smirking cheerfully as she waved goodbye, "Thanks for the energy restorer of mighty power food!~" she called out as she left, he waved back with a kind-hearted smile.

Yuki walked down the street slowly towards her apartment, stopping outside and starring with a sigh up at the complex,
"I'm home~…." she muttered quietly to herself, before quickly regaining her smirk and giggling as she entered.

-=The Next Day~=-

Yuki closed the door behind her as she left the house, locking the door before whistling, not well, as she walked down the path to school, spotting Asana along the way and quickly running up to her, catching up and saluting,
"Mornin'!~ Status report general? Is all going well with our plans?~" she asked, by spending a bit of time around her most worked out this was how she asked how they were doing. She had her usual clothes on which were somewhat against school rules in certain aspects of it but as long as she wore the uniform at least they 'tolerated' it, that and she bit one of them when they'd disagreed, she giggled in a cheerful manner as they went along together.

All of a sudden however Yuki spotted a cat, eyes lighting up and practically sparkling as she crept towards it, shoving her bag into Asana's hands first making her way over cautiously and soon squatting near it, stroking it with her tongue stuck out slightly as if concentrating before turning around, a look of excitement and innocence on her face,
"I have discovered a rare Bephergal!~" she called out towards Asana in a way that would make anyone feel they had to agree with the strange name she'd called the cat.

Shizu & Kyou

Tired. Man, Kyou was tired. Half the night spent fighting off monsters, and the other half spend laying in bed too excited to get to sleep. Though, when she thought about it, sleepless was probably a better term to described the state she was in, considering that...

"Heeeyyyy! Shizuuuuuu!"

Well, considering that she was currently bolting down the street as fast as she could. Just out of the corner of her eye, she'd caught sight of that ever-distinct red head of hair, as alone as it usually was, trotting it's way to school. And Kyou being Kyou, she broke into a sprint to catch up with her as soon as she spotted her, regardless of how much her red-headed partner might protest to it. And considering the encounter they'd had last night, she just might protest to it even more than usual... Oh well. She smiled. She was sure they'd sort things out like they always did. Or at least, she was sure she'd end up apologizing like she always did!

Shizu didn't even need to turn her head to know what she was in store for, and considering how her previous night went she was even less enthusiastic than usual to have to deal with her rambunctious partner. Sighing, the girl slung her backpack higher up her shoulder, slightly jostling the pink stuffed bear that peaked out of her bag as she peered over her shoulder.

"You know you aren't supposed to bother me at school and yet you do so anyways. Must be that goldfish-like memory of yours acting up again." Even though it wouldn't have been obvious to outsiders what with her blank expression, but Kyou would easily be able to tell the red head was more than a little annoyed, considering it she was the one at fault. Not only had she slept about as much as Kyou had, kept awake by anxious thoughts when she wasn't battling otherworldly monsters, but there was another slight altercation between her and the so called 'backup' that annoyed the girl more than a little. "And don't think I forgot about you defying our agreement last night either. I had things dealt with, and you're supposed to stay out of my way unless I ask."

"Haha! I can't deny you there." Still smiling Kyou fell into pace with her red-head companion. "What can I say? I guess I just get too excited to think things through when I see that red mop of yours." Laughing to herself, Kyou eyed Shizu as she walked alongside her. She was looking just as disparate as she ever did, her ever-deadpan face clashing with her brightly dyed hair. Though by this point, Kyou had learned the hard way that she was probably hiding just as much annoyance behind her expression as her words would imply. Not that it mattered to her, though, she was more the used to it by now. Regardless, Kyou didn't mind either way. If the girl ever decided to explode on her, she'd deal with the consequences then. Wasn't that supposed to be how teams always bonded, anyway? Through little fights like that?

"Come on, Shizu! Since when does a team split up just because they can handle things on their own? That's how you get ambushed!" She laughed to herself, despite half-serious behind her perky demeanor. "I mean, I guess there are one or two benefits from working alone... But like, safety before speed, you know?" Catching her own words, Kyou tilted her head slightly, in confusion. "Hey, is that actually a saying? Safety before speed? Or am I just making things up?"

Twirling her locks absentmindedly in her fingers at their mention, Shizu let out a soft sigh as she listened to her much more energetic partner. Sometimes the red head wondered why she decided to go with such a polar opposite as her back up. Always smiling, never seeming to run out of energy, and worst of all never knowing when to keep her mouth shut; If she wanted an annoyingly peppy follower she would've adopted a dog. Seriously, if Kyou would've stuck to their initial deal and only followed her into difficult battles then MAYBE Shizu wouldn't have been as irked, but the bullheaded girl couldn't even follow simple instructions. That, or she simply refused to do so, which didn't seem unlikely. Still, even though there were many, many, MANY times she couldn't stand the girl, a very small part of Shizu appreciated her idiotic energy and presence, which was probably why she hadn't started walking faster. That, and Kyou could probably match whatever speed she could put out.

Safety before speed, huh? Briefly forgetting their previous issue, Shizu visibly pondered the origins of the phrase, tapping her index finger gently on her chin as she tried to recall if she'd heard it before. "I mean, the phrase makes too much sense to have never been used, so it probably came from somewhere. I doubt you came up with it yourself, but maybe I'm wrong." Answering the other girls question absentmindedly as she continued forward, there was a brief moment of silence before her head shot back towards Kyou. "That's not the problem at hand though. I mean, I understand what you're saying, but what you need to understand is I don't care what you're saying. If you want to work with me then simply follow my rules, and when I ask you to stay out of my way you stay out of my way, got it?" Even though her harsh words and stone-cold stare indicated zero room for budging, Shizu had to admit the other girl had a point. The assistance, though not asked for, was unquestionably helpful, but not everyone's logic was the same as Shizu's.

"Heeyyy, come on now! You don't have to be so harsh!" Kyou pouted, if only for a joke, at the redheaded girl's response. What did she mean, 'I doubt you came up with it yourself'? Man, if she had the mind to, Kyou just might be offended. Fortunately though, she really didn't. It was better than her not talking to her at all, after all. Seriously, what kind of a hero would she be without a partner? "You know, neither of us is the sidekick here, right? I mean, how about we put it this way?" Mischievously, Kyou smiled. "What if I said I just happened to attack the same monsters as you?" For a moment, Kyou's smile held as firm as it ever did, almost giving the appearance that she actually expected Shizu to buy her words. Unfortunately, though, she was more than aware that it wouldn't be that easy.

Thinking of that, she couldn't help but sigh. "Kidding, kidding. Though I'm sure you figured that out for yourself." Jokingly, she stuck out her tongue. "But fine, sure, I'll listen this time. Only help out when you ask for it! Hero for hire!" She chuckled to herself, and broke back into a grin. The school coming into her vision, Kyou ran ahead into the splayed-open entrance to it's grounds, and turned back to face Shizu, calling to her at the top of her voice. "Or maybe I'm lying! See you later!" Unabashed, Kyou yelled over the crowd of students entering the school, making sure to at least assure that it wasn't too obvious she was speaking to Shizu, to at least obey one or two of the girls requests.

Shaking her head, Shizu knew exactly what the other girl meant and fully expected to see her when she wasn't supposed to show up. Such was how things were between the two. Letting out the softest exhale and, if one were to look very closely, an extremely faint smile, Shizu muttered under her breath as she walked through the crowd of students alone. "Yeah, see you later."

Kou Fujioka

The next morning, Kou felt just as exhausted as she did when she went to bed. Maybe not getting eight hours of sleep each night was starting to get to her. No one was home like usual. Her parents went to work very early, and Kaede always went to her friend's house before going to school. She grudgingly prepared herself for school, sliding on her uniform and lazily pulling her hair into twintails."I'm leaving," she called out before heading to school, despite knowing nobody would hear it nor respond. She let out a small sigh before stepping out of the house and closing the door behind her.

Kou had forgotten all about the new class Kimiu had mentioned until she was already halfway to school. She suddenly felt even more nervous for school than she already was. She'd tried to be optimistic about it, but she just couldn't. History would repeat itself - Kou would try to make friends, she would mess up somehow, and the entire class would think she was weird. She even doubted she would find a partner.

The raven-haired girl arrived at school in no time. Her class was noisy when she entered, and everyone pretended to not see her walk in. Typical, nothing new. She slumped down at her desk, pulling her notebooks and supplies out of her bag to busy herself. She wondered when she would have to move to the new class.

"Oh, you are hilarious," Tomomi said with a big smile as her partner quipped and the goo-monster fell. As the barrier faded, she caught Gale in a hug, picked her up, and spun her around, giggling. "And so useful. Where have you been during all of the monster fights where I was in mortal danger?" She made sure to put some extra punch on the last two words, still somewhat angry that she hadn't met Gale sooner. But the girl showered her with hugs, so she was having a hard time complaining.

She set Gale down and detransformed, purple light covering her body in a shattering cover that revealed her school uniform. "It's quite late," she yawned, looking around at the city. It truly was a beautiful place. The flower shops, the skyscrapers... not so deep down, she hoped one day their inhabitants would learn her double life and laud her for it. Maybe even cry about her plight.

"See you later, Gale!"

She walked home alone, trying not to lament how she was unable to strike a single-handed killing blow.

---

Tomomi woke up to a musical alarm in an empty house. She couldn't remember if this was a stock ringtone or a song she liked - what did she like besides plants and looking good? The thought made her hit snooze and bury her face in the pillow.

She had memory problems, she was alone, she'd just fought a horrifying monster and couldn't even finish it off herself before her friend skipped off -
shut. Up, she told herself as the phone beeped to notify her of a text message. She wasn't alone anymore. She sat up and pulled over the phone to see that Sumire had texted her. "Are you okay? I know I was mad at you for ditching me, but I'm worried about you." She'd missed their ice cream date - damn it. Damn it damn it damn it.

She fought the urge to throw the phone across the room, charger still attached, and typed "I'm so sorry! I got frightfully ill from not eating and nearly fainted dead away into nobody's arms." Then she pressed "send" and dismissed her alarm after catching her dreadful reflection in the phone screen. She saw her messy hair, having been unbrushed the previous night, and her slept-in makeup.

Well, she'd just have to be late for school. She jumped in the shower, ugly school uniform sitting on the bathroom counter, and got ready for school. When she finished and changed, she put on as much makeup as the dress code would allow. Which wasn't much, but it included a thick coating of foundation that nobody would see through.

(timeskip to school?)

Yet again, Asana was essentially leaped onto by Yuki, and in the process choked and coughed out some crumbs of her last bite of food. Once she'd cleared her throat properly, directed her gaze to the somehow still ball of energy, Yuki. "Oh, hey. No updates, I suppose." By now, all the time spent with Yuki had only had Asana scratching her head at points, wanting to observe her in a more detailed fashion, but afraid of what she might find out.

Anyways, she continued walking steadily alongside Yuki, who was basically skipping, but suddenly she paused in the centre of the pathway, her eyes glued in a singular direction. Asana followed her gaze towards a meek cat, one that clearly lived on the streets, minding it's own business. As she looked at the cat, Asana was suddenly holding Yuki's bag, and watching her creep towards it, which didn't really bother her much, in fact, Asana didn't care too much about the cat, and was minding her own business, just as it was. Nevertheless, Yuki pet the cat cautiously, innocence running through every stroke of it's fur, and also shown through her eyes, when she shot her gaze directly at Asana, and called the cat a 'Bephergal
' she knew Yuki wanted it.

Quickly, not wanting to be involved, Asana walked by and gave Yuki her bag back.
"I'll see you at school." she stated in a montone voice, and walked off towards school, soon arriving and preparing for school to start.

Yuki stared blankly in slight shock as her bag was shoved back to her and Asana walked off quickly, blinking a few times before looking back at the cat with a smile, stroking it for a few more minuets gently, "So you don't have a home, huh?~…. Well then furry beast of the underworld, you may stay with the all mighty me!~" she called out, startling the cat slightly as it jumped a few inches away, hissing, Yuki laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head a bit with a smile, opening her bag and shuffling things around a bit, making room for the 'Bephergal' before picking the oddly obedient cat up and putting it in her bag, closing it back up, leaving enough space for it to breath of course.

Yuki then squatted there for a moment, waiting and staring at the bag with her chin on her knees before a small meow was heard from the bag and she giggled,
"I'll take that roar of power as a sign you wanna go now, huh?~ Alright-y then! Of towards the pits of hell!~" she called out cheerfully as she picked it back up and ran quickly towards school, once arriving going to class and smirking at Asana as she sat down, carefully placing the bag down on the floor, a small 'Mew' being produced from it, "I have gained us a new ally in our great battle~ We shall hold a proper entrance ceremony at a later date~" she said, most in the class had learnt to ignore what Yuki said, that or gotten used to it by now so as not to really react in any surprised fashion.

In simple terms it was apparent that Yuki had both brought the cat and intended to keep it, the 'ceremony' referring to coming up with a name.

(Kimiu's POV: )

"Oh, hey, it's the new guy!" Someone wavered at me. My hand shook a little as I slowly raised it, waving it just a little in front of my chest, before quickly stuffing it back into my pockets. Taking a human form for these extended periods of time would be hard, and like any other hard thing, it could make a person quite nervous the first time around. Still, I was gonna be with a bunch of people who knew me, even if they couldn't recognize me. My spirits got a little up, and I found myself chanting and humming a little.

Next, I remembered they probably hated me too. Suddenly, my humming dropped as did my pace. There was a hush of pressure on my back and I turned around to see who it was: another teacher. Tall, muscular, dark skin, brown eyes, pink shirt...the imagery somehow didn't quite match up.

"Hey, Hikazuki asked me to take you to the new classroom." He smiled friendly at me, showing each of his bright white teeth. I smiled back, with nervousism. And a bit angry too. I took a new form and I was still the dwarf here.

"I..." I cleared my throat "I see. Well, then, take me there."

He began humming himself, a much more upbeat song that what I did, probably one of those new electronic shenanigans I heard from the radios of cars that passed by. We went downstairs, nearly to the basement. Unfortunately, there were still Windows around, which would make this harder did a monster chase the girl's into the classroom, but alright. Still, the Windows slightly up, it did still give the impression that the wall beneath was as requested: underground.

Suddenly, there was the speaker's announcing sound. The students were about to get called.

"Well, I'll see you later, I suppose." The man winked at me and left, leaving me to shiver.

"ATTENTION THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS: Kou Fujioka, Kuga Nanami, Asana Nagao, Hikari Espirito, Tomomi Inubouzaki, Amakira Chitose, Mirai Kuriyama, Shizu Taniguchi, Yamazaki Gale, Kyou Suruga, Koware Yasui Yuki, Kana Kojima, Honoko kawasumi, please go to classroom E-9 downstairs. Bring your classroom material, bag packs and other personal goods."

The speaker went on to repeat that, so I took a seat in the classroom and waited.
