Realistic or Modern Mutant Apocalypse IC

Well the place was still a warzone, gunshots filled the air around everyone as Jackle and his fellow detectives carried the unconscious officers to safety. These mutants were getting tougher and tougher to fight back as such a wide variety of powers were being unearthed. It just made Jackle seem like he was nothing compared to them, like his hard work and effort was meaningless as some did it better than him because of their special gifts....

Then suddenly Hathom came crashing through the barrier, with a damaged visor. He looked a little worse for wear, but knowing him he's still as fierce as ever. Suddenly all gunfire stopped, Maybe he made some order or something but all the Icarus team stopped firing. He couldn't see much but he heard a male cry in pain and then gunfire again, did they hit the target? Well hopefully this fight will end soon.... Mister Ace Detective needs a smoke right about now...

But the hole caused a huge problem to the safety of the officers they were dragging and the detectives themselves. He looked at William and Sarah and couldn't remember who had the power to make the barrier, he was still groggy from his unconscious spell.

"Someone plug up that Damn hole! I ain't losing one of these Bastards today!"
Jackle yelled this at William and Sarah.

He was attached to these officers, mainly because some of them were friends, his coworkers. He didn't want to see their lives ended, He doesn't want to bare the news to anyone's family that their son or daughter died in the line of duty, he didn't want to show up to another funeral of a fellow officer.

He started Carrying his fellow officers with renewed vigor, hell he was carrying two at a time now, one on his shoulder and dragging the other. He wasn't losing anyone today!

Molly Krystal

With her eyes closed Molly literally had no idea what hit her, but it hurt, alot. She felt all the air blast out of her in a huff at first, then she opened her eyes she saw that it was a cop car, but no sooner did the car slam into the bank wall. Putting both it and her clean through the stone.

Landing on a marble floor with a cop car on you isn't a good way to wake up. Molly learned this when she was knocked unconscious for the second time in five minutes. This time she woke up immediately though because there was a car on her now shattered right Knee. She shoved the car off with a pitiful whimper and managed to drag herself to her feet. "and the dumbest person of the day award goes to molly..." She groaned as she looked around for another projectile to toss at him.

Fortunately there was no shortage of rubble, unfortunately it was very hard to aim with bones resetting like that, coming to and executive decision she shifted her focus to her team who were now coming under direct fire. She hopped to the front counter in a single bound and ripped the large 5ft by 10ft bulletproof glass window from it's positioning then using the pane like an oversized shield she leaped back only making it to the left corner of the blockade before calling her squad. "Icarus i got cover move in" she said in a pained voice more leaning on the glass than holding it up.

Meanwhile at the hudson docks..

Joseph the bandit.

Joseph watched the second chopper fly over his head as it returned to the carrier. "Here we go." He said with a smirk using his boost jump to glide over the fence and into the Army base nearby. He did so in a shadowy part of the complex, landing nearby a large shipping container and huddling close to it. Today was a special contract, with the Peacekeepers in town that ment that there was also state of the art weaponry as well.

Turning to his wrist comm, he brought his radar up displaying the Automated sentries, the cameras, and the alarms. He coded the worm in three separate ways, the sentries would shut down if they came within range of his com, the cameras would run a loop while giving him direct control and thus visual of the whole base, and the alarms would shut down all together. All he had to deal with were the guards and the locks, which he was confident he could handle on a bad day. This was a good day however and he was well equipped. He drew the small Taser he had, one that most mocked him for, but hey a man's gotta have a code.

He proceeded to sneak about and watch the cameras to avoid most confrontation. Where it did appear he made sure he had the drop on them and could quickly get them with the Taser. So long as he didn't encounter a mutant he would be fine, and if he did... Well he always had Fat Boy.

When Doc flew through the barrier William stopped dead in his tracks. He was a few feet away from where he had come through. A few feet to the right and he would have been caught in the cross fire. He over heard the captain claim that Vanguard was a metal user. This made a lot of sense now that he placed all the pieces together. William had a fellow officer next to him. He had placed the mans arm over his shoulders and was moving him like so.

Sarah was still carrying two at a time over her shoulders. They were almost done and some cars had already left with the unconscious officers. Only a few more and the area would be clear of those who could not help themselves.

Sarah dropped off the two she had and turned her attention back to the battle at hand. Things were beyond a small battle field at this point. The zone was not hot it was a flat out death zone. She turned back to William and signaled him with her hands. William noticed the signal and nodded quietly as he dropped off the officer he had in hand. The last bit of officers were now being moved and soon were being taken away. All that was left was the APS team, Jackle, Anderson, Sarah and William. All up against a metal user that was just labeled as a Beta or higher. This was either going to end in their favor..... Or in Vanguards. They could not let this happen.

Either way something needed to be done. William rushed over to Hathom. He had an idea. When the bit of concrete hit Vanguard and the now knowledge of him being a metal user... What if William used his powers to help level the field for the APS team. "Captain.... Is there anything I can do?" He asked. He figured that Doc knew what he could do and maybe put his powers to use at this moment.

Devil be damned....she nailed him...

DOC was suddenly grateful for having accepted a loose cannon like her as his ward. She had potential even if she currently moved around with the grace of an autistic chicken. Icarus wasted no time in moving in on the target once more, stepping past Molly and the cop car without pause. Thankfully, SPARKS had given them the heads up when the car came flying, as he was looking in that direction already.

They were closing in on the target and Vanguard knew it. He started unleashing all hell upon the men and women trying to protect everyone. Unfortunately, this is where Molly's lack of experience and knowledge came in. When the bullets started barking out of the guns, Molly ripped the bulletproof glass window of the bank and used it a shield. This normally would work but Icarus was outfitted with Anti-material rifles, bullets meant to shred tanks and this time, it had all the power it needed, for it was being fired from the gun itself. The glass held up for two shots before shattering to pieces.

BARD had been watching and wasted no time. The instant Hammer grabbed the glass, Rey moved in behind her.

BARD : "Cover!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

The defensive soldier pushed a button on her wrist and out came a kinetic barrier just in front of her. It was shaped in an arc, covering the front from head to toe. Molly and BARD were safe from the hail of bullets but she didn't yell cover the ones in the front.

It was for everyone behind them.

The Captain's eyes widened as he saw what Rey was about to do to save Agent Hammer. His synthetic voice called out with all sound it had, "GET DOWN!!!" He screamed, pushing William out of the way of the inevitable bloodbath.

The deflected bullets ripped through the concrete wall like paper machè, claiming the lives of 3 police officers at the moment of impact. Hathom felt his body jettison to the right from the force of an antimatter bullet ripping through his armor and puncturing his flesh, collapsing a lung before stopping its grotesque path of carnage on the other side of the armor. Another bullet ripped clean through the lower left section of his abdomen, blowing a fist sized hole where his liver used to be.

The augments immediately recognized the organ damage and began rerouting blood and energy to the still functioning organs, leaving the damaged lung to die faster. The Captain hit the floor but quickly recovered and took aim once more, continuing to lay down fire in opportune moments. His organs were not natural and could be replaced. He wasn't out of this fight just yet.

FROST saw the opportunity and poured all the energy into his leg augments, giving him a vast increase in speed as he jettisoned forward in a glowing, cybernetic blur. Electricty crackled out of his body and the moment he got close enough, he unleashed all of the stored energy in his core. Similar to the Captain, FROST could discharge all of the energy in his systems for one hell of a shock. The difference was that DOC's was meant to incapacitate.

Having an offensive frame and lacking a synthetic body meant a lot more power could go into the discharge. His could kill though it varied from person to person. Still, it was nothing to laugh it. Much like everything about the mute soldier.

Anderson
Anderson was surprised by how things had escalated. Soldiers charging at the boy, wounded officers being dragged away by several others, anything metal just seemed to be another toy for this kid. He didn't think about trying to deal with the boy at the moment and instead went to dragging officers to vehicles. Most were just a simple "Thanks" but one officer really got to him. As Anderson was dragging them away the officer looked into his eyes. There was blood dripping from the man's forehead as he was actually hit by one of the cars affected by the boy's power. Damn mutants, some could use a little counseling he thought.

Returning back to the scene, he took notice to more and more chaos. It seemed that more A.P.S soldiers had come to combat this kid. Continual tugs on his handgun as he crouched there. His knee was aching, his arms were becoming weary from all of the rips from this boy's magnetic ability. But now, he started thinking about how to take this kid down. If he could control metal then standard bullets are useless, but what about rubbers?

With this thought in mind, Anderson arose from his position swiftly. With quick movements and the occasional ducking as bullets flew by, he made it back to his car. It was definitely in a different spot than he left it. He unlocked the trunk and looked among his small armory. Looking through a few clips, he found one with what he was looking for. He raised his gun and let the clip slide out. Pushing the other one in, he pulled the slide back to send the chambered bullet to the floor. With a rubber round in place he aimed directly at the kid, and pulled the trigger a few times. Shots rang out as the bullets flew through the air. Anderson knew he was a good shot, so he did not doubt that they would hit their target.

(SHOTS FIRED. RUBBERS AIMED FOR COAL)

Molly Krystal

When the shards of plexiglass flew from the shattering of her makeshift sheild, Molly let out a yell. But she cut it short when Rey came to her aide. The bullets bounced off the kinetic shield and Molly nearly puked when the officers were hit. "Thanks.. " she mumbled to Rey. She was greatful really, but the cost didn't seem to match the exchange. "So much for cover huh." She said a little more upbeat.

Her knee still ached but it was starting to fade as shock began to set in, though immune to most effects of injuries she wasn't immune to all of them. "get me a splint and I'll put him down for sure this time." She said with a painfilled smile spread across her blood covered face.

She had hoped to do a little better in this in her first field deployment, but beggars can't be choosers. "What's our move?" Molly asked over the intercom, not tagging anyone in particular because she had no idea who to ask.

With all the commotion going on Coal was not ready for what came next. Still on the ground and with the guns blaring at his command, something ricocheted off the ground so close to the top of his head. Shocked at what it could be would be his first reaction, but something hit his already injured arm making him cry out again and roll on his back. He was lucky as two more rubber rounds zipped passed over him. If he was still on his side they would have hit.... And from the one round that had hit he didn't want to know what the others would feel like.

He took in deep breaths as he gripped his arm. His eyes quickly turned in the direction of something moving... Something moving fast towards him. He could barely see what it was before it was too late. An electric shock busted out of no where. Quickly connecting to him. Coal had never been shocked before, and the combination with electricity and his powers never crossed his mind.

Coal's powers dealt with metal and magnetic fields. So when the shock entered him it not only gave him a run for his money, but it also expanded. For a good moment those around him could see the actual magnetic connection he had on things. Some of the guns exploded due to the magnetic attraction to the electricity, while others went wild. His magnetic field he had around him light up like a Christmas tree. The field was large and it reached out a good ten feet around him. Anyone within ten feet of Coal would have gotten shocked. Lucky for Coal seeing as his powers redirected most of the electricity, otherwise he would have been knocked out or worse.

Coal coughed once the electric had stopped. The whole thing placed his nerves on edge and knocked the wind out of him for some reason. He was exhausted, not to mention that his body hurt all over. this was the moment for him to either leave or gather all of what he could and retaliate. But the odds were not looking in his favor. The guns that he once controlled were now back on the ground and his shield was barely holding together. He reached out with his good hand and the metal bat from earlier zipped to it. The metal morphed it's shape to look like a deck from a skateboard. No trucks, just the board part.

He had been playing around with his powers a few months back. Finding ways on how to get around the city. At some point he had gotten this idea while dealing at a skate park. A metal skateboard. He would use the magnetic field to control the board, and also use other metals to create a kind of magnetic wave he could ride on. Scrambling to his feet he tossed the board out in front of him as his feet rushed to meet up with it.

Once on, the magnetic wave took over and gave him and the board speed. Pulling his field back together Coal took to the sky quickly. No more than building height and soon was out of sight as he was quick to move around buildings and heading further towards the center of the city.

William was stuck in aw as he watched the Vanguard zip off after such a battle. Sarah joined his side as they could do nothing to follow the mutant. Their attention turned quickly back to the others around them... A hot mess.

Sarah looked to the dragon like figure, wondering if they were going to send him after Vanguard or if they were just going to let him go.

The night had went from a simple cup of coffee, to a war zone..... William took a minute to let his mind catch up with everything. His eyes landed on the Captain of the APS team.... this was going to be something they should get use to.... this was the team they were joining in the morning.

Jackle was carrying an officer who had groggily woken up, he was so close to the cars as well! Until the very thing happened that Jackle tried so hard to avoid, the Death of his coworkers. Jackle was a lucky sonofabitch because had he been behind the officer, he would've died.

The bullet in question ripped through the officer and continued on its path towards a police car. It slammed into it's side and went through it all together, ending the lives of two other officers. Jackle was in front of the man but more to the side kinda like ushering him somewhere when he was hit. Blood splattered all over Jackle's shirt and pants, and the guy almost fell to the ground.

He was alive for a couple of seconds, he wasn't going to make it since he had quite a large hole in his gut. Jackle laid him on the ground and watched as the once youthful life escape from his eyes. Jackle had failed, he had failed miserably.

The officer had his life ahead of him, and now it was claimed by a damned Mutant! Jackle forced himself to check on the other officers and found two others dead. Hell he even knew one of them, Sherry was her name and was she the nicest girl you ever met, served for five years and had a husband and child.

Three officers died when they couldn't even fight back. So when Jackle saw the suspect start to fly off, he pulled out his gun and aimed at the little bastard! Only he was too far away for Jackle to do anything so he holstered his gun. He was tired, exhausted, and full of grief as he stared at the bodies of his coworkers... He needed to smoke badly now so he walked off towards the barrier.

He pulled out a pack, bumped it to make one Cig pop out and took it into his mouth. He put the pack away and took out a lighter and lit his cigarette. He took a long inhale as he closed his mind and pictured the runts eyes, body, clothes, determined to remember it. He opened his eyes and puffed out smoke, the first of many that night.

"Hey Anderson? Mind calling the department and telling them we got three casualties? I gotta talk with our gun show pals over here..." And Jackle walked off towards Hathom, and he was walking kinda fast almost like he wanted to talk to him urgently. This was about how fast Jackle can get into the damn A.P.S since he filed his paper this very day, he was about to turn it in until he was called to stop a suspect at a Bank Robbery. He was determined to see these damned Terrorists pay for their crimes.

After everyone recovered from the attack, it was safe to say that every single person involved wanted to give chase but Hathom called out just loud enough for people to hear, "Stand down! Its too dangerous to bring this fight into the city."

"Agent Lucien, thank you for taking care of the second mutant. Consider my lips sealed during my debriefing about your acts heroism."

"Hammer, you have the grace of a horse with its legs cut off but if it wasn't for you, that might have gone differently."

"Detectives, sorry you had to endure all of that. But that's what we deal with everyday."

"Men and women of the law. Im sorry for any casualties you suffered but this is exactly why we exist. The lives lost today would have been far worse otherwise."

"VIRUS, call in the casualties and damages. And get me a damn chopper."
it might not be what everyone wanted to hear but Hathom wasn't a speech giver. He told everyone the truth and no more.

Blood was pouring from his wounds and the Captain couldnt help but groan at the repairs he knew was coming. He stood watched the approaching officers. It appears they wanted a few words.

All the members of Icarus left their positions and formed up just behind their CO, Rey with Molly in tow. Both FROST and BARD were heavily burnt from the electrical pulse Vanguard redirected but didnt show any signs of discomfort or pain.

Just another fucking day at the office. Haythom just wanted to go the bar. His special woman was there tonight but he knew she would probably lose her mind if she saw him in this state.

Molly leaned on Rey for support but tried to carry most of her weight. "Your not looking too hot yourself captain." She said taking her eyes off of the fleeing Vanguard as they gathered together. She looked at both frost and bard with a bit of concern. As usual her face broadcasted her emotions like a neon billboard. But she didn't say anything, better to not ask a soldier how they were doing, she knew that much from her own father.

As she looked at the scene around her she felt the same way she did before, like she could've done better. However she was happy to be on the right side of the law for once. Then her eyes turned to the officers on the ground, and her face turned pale. They had died for her today... Her eyes shifted straight to the ground.

Sure she had seen her fair share of gore, but it was usually her own. And death was still new to her, she was as many soldiers would say green around the gills. Not to mention she was a bit tired out, her time in prison had really let her get out of shape, exerting herself as she had been doing was taking alot out of her.

A slight chuckle stirred inside Lucius as the captain began speaking, being addressed as Lucien once again. Almost accustomed to it, Lucius simply nodded to the captain then looked to the other members of the squad who seemed to be in rough shape. Vanguard had taken off into the air, Lucius' element. Extending his wings he thought about chasing after him but knew he would regret it dearly. Turning back to his comrades and captain he looked to the rest of them once again, however the fiery redhead seemed to be looking in his direction, his beaming emerald eyes twitched slightly as he noticed her gaze.

Listening to the captain speak to everyone Lucius knew the fight was put to rest... For now. The dragon lifted its head an turned to see a man walking toward them, puffing on a cigarette quite vigorously.. Someone might have thought his lungs depended on it to function. The mans whole body language spoke trouble and aggrivation. Taking a step toward the captain and this man he let a growl erupt loose from the inside of his throat. Lucius would not have any more issues tonight. What did this man want? Who was he exactly? Lucius worked under The APS more than regular law enforcement so he wasn't really to familiar with them just yet. Turning his attention else where he noticed Molly leaning on Rey for support, tough girl had shown a great deal of effort and in his opinion should have been given some more credit, sure she was a bit clumsy.. However Lucius was also abit dense at times so in reality it evened out. Her comment toward the captain however did create a smile to pull on the side of his jaw, at least someone pointed it out.

The street was littered in rubble and large chunks of road. Not to mention there was a large crater in a certain portion of the pavement now where Molly had struck. Shards of glistening glass seemed to dance off the street lamps as they were now the only source of light. Lucius turned to the captain again for the final time, his attention now fully given to the wounded man as he was finished taking in the scene around him.

This is basically what he looks like, a real dragon with four legs.. However hes a deep midnight blue, looks black until the light hits his scales properly. His belly is black, not silver.

With the words spoken so truthfully from the Captain of the APS team, William and Sarah both could only agree that this could have turned out a lot worse. William nodded to Hathom before looking back at the scene. This was to now be considered a crime scene and investigation. He walked through the whole in the barrier and made his way to the location where Vanguard was last standing in. Vanguard didn't touch anything around him, that he didn't end up taking with him. From the bat to the board.... Nothing seemed to be there besides empty bullet shells and hand guns.

He let out a rough sigh as he looked around on the ground. He paused in his motions when he noticed something. He got low to the ground and picked up an empty bullet shell. The shell turned into a swap in which he placed to the ground. He blinked looking over the once white cotton. It was now red, hinting to blood more than anything. With his other hand he picked up a few more shells and turned them into a little plastic bag. He placed the swab into the bag and closed it tightly. Making sure it was sealed right.

He continued to look and was able to find one more random item. An ear piece that he had placed into another bag he made from empty shells. He looked over the ear piece in the bag taking note that is was just a blue tooth ear bud. Some of the younger crowd was big into the wireless ear buds these days. By the brand and color he couldn't get much. But his eyes looked back to the bag holding the bloody swab. Of course the investigation team will be back to collect anything else they needed, but this... William frowned a little.

So this was what they were getting themselves into, huh? No more small time villains or criminals. He looked back down at the ground and the scene. This was very much the big leagues. They had underestimated Vanguard. William felt disappointed in himself. Vanguard was his and Sarah's case. But they had never seen him fight like that. Had the villain been holding back this whole time? He looked over to the bank seeing one of the police cars now in the bank's lobby.

Sarah had her arms crossed over her chest and was watching William from a distance. She knew he took his job seriously, so after the Captain of the APS welcomed them, of course William would be right to work. She let out a huff of air as she wished they could just go home, sleep and then come back and work. It was a long day... She brushed a few strands of hair from her face as she looked to the watch on her wrist. It was almost midnight. She was now up for the past 24 hours.

Anderson
Anderson had fired a few more rounds at the boy as he escaped. All missed unfortunately, but at least this whole mess was over. With officers injured and the streets covered in the crimson blood of many people, it was going to be a long night for the clean up crew. No doubt the civilians in the surrounding buildings would be unhappy. All in all it was going to be a shitty night. As Jackie requested Anderson to give HQ the report he nodded. "Yeah, I suppose I should" he said. The expression on his face had gone from a soldier's to a widow's as a frown made itself present.

Opening up the door, he reached inside the vehicle to his radio. "This is Mitchels calling in. We have 3 officers severely wounded and many more injured. Mitchels out" he spoke into the radio. Placing it back down, he shut the door to his car. Looking up into the night sky, Anderson let out a long sigh. "Just another day in the office" he said softly as his vision turned back to Earth. Lifting his head, he slowly spun around to face the scene again. With slow and steady strides, Anderson walked towards the detectives. They were his responsibility now.

Arriving closer to Sarah, he looked to her. She didn't look to pleased either. Anderson could ultimately assume it was late and everyone was tired, because he sure was. "Looks like the only easy day was yesterday" he said to her. He placed his hands on his hips as he looked down to the blood-stained pavement. What did he come home to? Up until now he hadn't dealt with anything like this. Most of his field cases were small crimes with not-so-powerful mutants. Now seeing this kid, he knew he'd have to kick it up a notch.

Joseph Alcatel- The Bandit

*CLICK*
The key on the third guards belt was just what he was looking for, the door to the Barracks came open and Joseph couldn't help but smile. This was too easy, but if he didn't pick up the pace then he'd find out just how hard such a job could be.

He moved quickly through the complex, the map displayed on his wrist comm let him know every twist and turn of the building. Unfortunately he had been looking at the map to hard and another guard rounded this corner leveling his gun on him. "STOP." the man shouted. Both of Joseph's hands flew into the air, "I don't suppose we can talk about this?" He said as the guard came a bit closer. Once he crossed the line of Joseph's reach however, Joseph exploded into action. He pushed the rifle barrel strait up and went for a hook to the man's jaw. A normal man might have taken the punch, but this was a soldier. He blocked Joseph's punch and cracked the rifle against the side of his head, or he would have if Joseph hadn't ducked just before the gun collided with him.

He twirled as he crouched beneath the swing, extending his leg out in a backwards axe kick just like his dad taught him. Only when the kick hit the man's stomach he turned his antigravity boots on, sending the soldier sprawling with enough speed that his slide into the wall knocked him unconscious.

He picked up the gun and emptied it, casually dropping the bullets into the shredder on his hip. Afterwards he made his way to the control room. There was a last guard who turned in his chair to say something to what he thought had to be his replacement, instead he turned into Joseph's fist. The punch came so hard that the man and his chair both fell over, and Joseph couldn't help but curse as pain radiated through his hand. Instead of wasting time complaining he began immediately uploading the worm.

The program he had developed would burrow it's way into the entire system and warn him anytime the Peacekeepers were deployed, it would also allow him to access their database giving him incite into their technology, battle plans, even individual agents.
It was the worms defense system that made him the proudest however, in the off chance that they found his worm, it would leak the Peacekeepers private information to the world wide web, then it would self destruct leaving behind no evidence.

Picking up the unconscious guards water bottle Joseph started to take a sip but wound up spitting the mouthful onto the screen when their newest operative came on screen. "Oh shit..." Was all he could say as he looked at the picture of Molly.

He made his way out of the facility and back to the fence line quickly enough. The entire time however he had Fat Boy gripped tightly in his hand as if afraid that Molly would fly out of the shadows like a bat outta hell. Fortunately it was only his superstition that he encountered. Hopping the fence he climbed back into the red Honda Civic parked a block away...

Jackle took another long puff as he stopped in front of Hathom and sighed put the smoke. Just before Jackle left the station he accidentally grabbed the file he was going to send in the morning to A.P.S about joining them. By the time he realized he had it, he was halfway to the robbery so he couldn't just turn back.

Jackle looked at Hathom as he took out a folder filled with his completed application. "I know this isn't the best time but I was going to give this to the A.P.S in the mornin, but after this I can't wait anymore. Hopefully I can get in as soon as possible to deal with the situation our city is in." He held it out for the man to grab, and if he did or didn't, Jackle heard the sirens of the paramedics as they arrived on scene. As he turned around he saw that all the injured officers were alive, noticing that they were moving.

Jackle was very tired, he needed to just go home and sleep. He then went to help William investigate the scene, while William checked outside, Jackle went inside and saw a police car inside obviously from the battle. So using his detective skills he began looking for clues.

Sarah glanced over to Anderson before shifting her gaze back to William. She licked her lips and nodded slowly in a slight aggravated manner. "Yyyyyup..." She agreed. She watched as William continued to scan the area. His focus more on the spots Vanguard had been in. He picked up a bullet that seemed to have tried to change it's form. It was strange. The more he looked at it the more he noticed the difference in his powers and now Vanguard's. It was like he would turn the metal into a hard liquid state before molding it. Half of the bullet was still like a normal bullet, while the top half looked melted and had also showed signs of it returning to a more stronger state.

He once more made another evidence bag. He placed it into the bag and continued to search.

Sarah frowned a bit as she also noticed that he was marking spots. Evidence 1 was the blood William found, 2 was the ear piece and 3 was some kind of bullet. She wouldn't bother William now, she would eventually see the things very soon.

She looked to Anderson for a strong moment. "Do you have coffee?" she asked in a stern but calm tone. Sarah needed coffee if she was going to be up all night. She had yet to know that Anderson was their handler.

Meanwhile.......

Coal was able to make it to the drop point seeing as no one was following him, he found it safe to meet up with the other. An old warehouse out by the docks was the perfect place to meet up. The place had been abandoned for years, and only bums wandered around there from time to time. Coal took in a sharp breath when he handed. The metal board changed once more. This time the metal thinned out and wrapped itself around Coal's right wrist. Creating a metal wrist band. He was a bit surprised at how well the bullets from the APS team bent so well to his thoughts. They were strong and sturdy, and were quick to control with his powers.

Still holding onto his left shoulder, the door in front of him unlocked and opened without him touching it. The metal door closed and locked behind him once he was inside. In the center of the warehouse he spotted three men. A few large black bags were placed about their feet, it seemed they had already separated the money and were just waiting for him to pick up.

One of them started to clap his hands slowly as Coal got closer to them. "What a fucken show." The man nodded. He looked back to the other two who just nodded. "You are all over the place now." The guy stated as he pulled out his phone. "On the news, on the internet..." He turned to his two buddies. "What's that other one.. snap face?" he asked.

One of the guys laughed. "Snapchat." the man corrected the other. "Seriously. Vanguard I don't think I've seen someone fend off the APS like that in a long time." The man placed his phone away and slowly clapped is hands once more.

Coal narrowed his eyes at the three as he paused in step for a second. He then looked over to the bags and went over to the one closest to him. He reached down to take the bag when the first man stopped him. the man's eyes were focused on Coal's arm. Even with the black hoodie, in the light you could see the cloth was soaked in blood. "I'm guessing they did a number on you as well." The man pulled out his wallet and flipped through some of the cards he had. "I know a guy who could help with that. Keeps you out of the hospitals and still get the care you need." He said holding out a simple white card to Coal.

Coal looked to the card and then to the man as he slowly took it. "His prices are a bit out there... But I'm sure it's nothing you can't afford." The man glanced down to the bag and then back to Coal. Coal looked at the card and nodded. He then picked up his share of the money before turning and leaving the warehouse. He couldn't exactly return home in the condition that he was in. so the metal band around his wrist re-morphed into the board and he was off to find this underground doctor.

Captain Long looked down at the shorter man as he approached, the one visible eye scanning him from head to toe to get an identity reading. By the time he finished speaking, Hathom had gone through his entire file. The officer reached with a bloodied hand, staining the papers red where he touched them and took the papers, handing them off to VIRUS without looking. "By your track record, I'm sure you will be accepted into the A.P.S. You have a personal commendation from me as well, Detective."

The officer looked behind him to Detective William, Sarah, and Agent Anderson as they sifted through the still cooling down crime scene. Hathom wanted to tell them to leave it but they were still detectives until tomorrow. Which meant that this was still there job. The string of pity was plucked within his heart as he watched them.

The man breathed a hard sigh that almost sounded like metal softly grating against itself. At least the night was the exact opposite of what he was expecting. Glorified guard duty turned into a hell of a fight. Granted they had fought Vanguard with only half of the squadron and Molly coming in last second truly turned the tides of battle. Still, people were fatally wounded and it still wasn't clear if they were going to make it or lass away from their wounds in the hospital as many law enforcement officers tend to do.

Still, their job was over now. The threat was dealt with. Hathom lifted two bloodied, armored hands to the back of his helmet and hit the release switch. There was a momentary hiss as the pressure loosened up, eventually letting the Captain pull off his helmet.

Five hisses mirrored the noise and marked that the other members of Icarus squad were doing the same thing. Their jobs were done now.

SPARKS was what someone would expect from his gravelly voice. The strong, wrinkled face of a soldier who has been fighting for far too long. The stress of the job had turned his hair white, adding apparent years to his age. The older man pulled a cigar from his "special" pouch, bit the tip off, and lit it with his welding torch (built into his armor). He took a long draw and exhaled the thick smoke very slowly. He savoured every moment the taste was on his lips.

VIRUS was next and short, blonde hair bounced out of her helmet. The hacker had a few scars upon her face from the line of duty but was otherwise still a very attractive looking southern bell. Smooth, sun kissed skin marked by sparse freckles here and there. A blonde eyebrow arched as she looked at all the men that they would soon be working with and a smile soon joined it. Looks like she had some good pickin's in the future.

SUEÑO's shoulder length, black hair was tied up in a tight bun. Her hispanic descent rather obvious with her dark tan skin and hazel colored eyes. Crows feet and greying hair marked her age but it still didn't take away from looks. If anything it just added character and strength to her. Full, gracious lips turned up into a smile as she saw the looks VIRUS was giving the men in the area. She was so plainly obvious. It was like a blonde tigress eyeing up a gazelle.

FROST followed and the male had every feature of a stereotypical russian soldier. Strong jawline, brows, cheekbones, and his eyes being the strongest of all. Eyes that looked like they could pierce through your very soul. Yet, a kind expression was displayed on his face as he nodded his to everyone in greeting. Considering he couldn't actually speak.

BARD, being the second to last, removed her helmet and long, red hair came cascading down from the inside like flowing water. The youngest of the group and it showed. Flawless, pale skin, marred only by the occasional battle scar. Shapely pink lips, almond shaped eyes, and she even applied some make up to bring out her eyes.

To which was the one identical trait all of Icarus Squad shared. They were all very different individuals but they all contained those pale blue cybernetic eyes that seemed to see everything. Just like the eyes of the captain, whose helmet finally loosened up enough to pull off. The damage done making it rather hard to do.

Charcoal grey hair hung around his shoulders, stained red in certain spots from the damage sustained. Circuitry could be seen moving up from his neck all the way up to his, glowing the same blue, but just under the skin. This pattern could be seen throughout his body when not wearing armor. Trails of blood running down his face like small crimson rivers from the bullet that broke his visor. Cybernetic eyes turned up to see the news helicopters that had been broadcasting the entire event and Hathom let out a low, metallic groan as he turned to his hacking expert

VIRUS: "Patch you in to the missus Cap'n" she asked cheerfully, her dialect coming out now that they were officially done.

DOC: "Please Sandra. If she was watching then she's-"

ALL: "Drunk."

A myriad of laughter sounded from the troop as VIRUS worked her magic and used the captain's comms to send a phone call out. Hathom walked...well limped to the side to talk and the rest of Icarus seemed to mirror the movements. They all went their seperate ways to sit and relax while evac came to pick them.

Jerry (SPARKS) went over to the inside of the bank and sat upon the hood of the destroyed cop car, enjoying his cigar without a care in the world.

Rey brought Molly to the makeshift concrete shield and laid her against it. "You alright there, big girl?" She asked with a childish smile. Out of everyone, Rey seemed to like to talk to Molly the most. Despite them never meeting face to face until now.

Welton (FROST) just took a step to the side and sat upon the floor, rubbing at the wounds he received in that fight.

Sandra (VIRUS) walked past Detective Jack and gave him a slow wink before holding up his blood stained papers with a smile and kept walking to the barrier. She set up a few feet away from Molly and Rey as she began reviewing Jack's papers.

Alejandra (SUEÑO) went to check on the captain's wounds before turning and walking up to Detective William's. He may have good eyes for things but a sniper's eyes could pick up the most minute details. Add augments and you can practically see bacteria (not literally). "There is a some blood over by the car that does not belong to anyone here. Probably the meta's." She stated in her thick, spanish accent.

The captain waved off his marksman with a smile and a thank you. Aleja was the first member assigned to his team and they were the original duo of Icarus. No one had been through more than the two of them together. Eventually the ringing stopped and Haythom closed his eyes, "Hey hun. Is everything alright?" You could clearly here the worry in his voice as he asked. For multiple reasons but one was because he knew what he was about to hear.

(You may interact with any of the members of Icarus)

Lucius was watching calmly as the Icarus squad removed their helmets, revealing themselves. Shaking his large scaled head he let a small smile curl his scaled lips as he took a deep breath, glancing around the scene as the detective began moving around the street. Lucius growled to himself as he turned to look toward the boy he had mangled. Death was something that Lucius had come accustomed to.. He had witnessed it more so as a villian rather then now as a peace keeper. The night was seeming to drag a little as he then turned to walk away from the group, glancing over his should once more to see almost a river of red pool down from one of the squads helmets, a younger woman with almost flawless features. He hadn't really seen her much so she must have been newer to the group. Stretching out his wings he then surged from the pavement, leaping into the air with a powerful stroke of both wings to prop him into the sky.

Not going far he landed on the rooftop where the two twins had originally been spotted. The dragon tool a few deep breaths before flopping itself down onto the rooftop, both front paws hung over the edge as he rested his scaled chin down on his leg, his wings folded once again at his side comfortably and his eyes followed the detectives but was also glancing around the area himself. Lucius was worn out, however he was surprised with how long he had been able to hold his dragon form.. Probably the longest he had been able to since first shifting over. The flashing lights from the ambulances bounced off his scales as he lifted his head in curiosity as a few officers were being rushed to the hospital.

Lucius was not exactly sure on what to do now.. Would they persue Vanguard in the morning? Why not send Lucius on his trail? His animal senses did come in handy as he could smell the mixtures of blood around him, it almost stung his nostrils really. Snorting he placed his head back down to rest on his legs, his long tail whipped around to curl at his side as he continued to watch the scene playing out infront of him. If he was to be called on he would gladly get his reat in gear and help but at the moment he felt like the detectives needed to do their jobs without distraction.

Molly Krystal.

Molly's eyes shifted from face to face as they had become revealed. Cigars got lit and the squad seemed to go their own separate ways. With the exception of Rey who helped her to a more comfortable position.
Hearing her concern caused Molly to blush a bit. "I'll be fine, takes more than a car to put me down." She said with a confident smile. "Though if the paramedics have any morphine I won't turn it down.

Her smile turned into a chuckle however when she noticed Sandra giving what could only be described as a promiscuous look to the detectives. "Watch it girl, men are nothing but problems especially in this city." She said quietly to the blonde once she sat near her an Rey.

Though she couldn't exactly blame her. Those recruits looked like they should be modeling not sifting through the debris of the battle. She wanted to check on the others who were hit, but she still had a while before she was in any condition to be walking around. "Rey let's go take a look around if we can, my bloods still pumping and I really don't wanna sit still."

"Is everything ok?" Kaylee asked. There was a quiet pause coming from her end of the phone that lasted all of ten seconds. "It's all over the newwwss..." Her words slurred heavily indicating that she had been drinking like so. "I saw you fly through a wall...." Again with the pauses in her words.

Kaylee stood outside the back door of the bar she was currently working at. The phone pressed tightly to her ear as worry crossed he face. She was dressed to kill seeing as this was her higher end paying bar gig. A club that was located closer to the center of the city where all the rich kids went to party. When she heard about the APS had been dispatched she was quick to the managers office with a bottle for herself. It worried her to no end at times. This was probably the worst one. they had been seeing one another for sometime and Hathom had been doing APS for a long time. But she even knew that this Vanguard guy was highly dangerous. He had made the news a few times, but this time around the APS team was involved. Up until now no one really knew what his abilities were. Nor did they know if he could cause such damage.

This fight showed the world that this Vanguard was not your average mutant. Kaylee also knew that when dealing with new mutants they were always at a disadvantage. Especially if they didn't know the mutant's powers. She knew this from dating Hathom.... But also the news told her while she was half a bottle in. She would literally do shot, after shot, after shot until the battle was over with. Since she had been dating Hathom, this was their longest battle and when she saw Hathom fly through the wall she just chugged.

Her boss would have said something, but if Kaylee gets interrupted she tends to yell and also sometimes fight. So her fellow co-workers and managers know to leave her alone during this time.

But upon hearing his voice she felt her heart warm up again. Thank god he was alright. In her eyes his job was no joke and should always be respected and she knew not to bother him while working. So when the tv said that battle was over.... She knew she would be able to hear from him again.

"I swear...." she started up again. Her words still slurring like crazy. She needed to take breaths in between her words. "If I ever find this guy.. I'm gonna rip his face off." She stated in an angered tone. She knew she could do nothing when it came to mutants... But her just saying that she would do something made her feel a little better. She finally took in a deep breath and calmed her nerves a bit. "I'm fine..... Are you ok?" she asked.

William still wandered around the area until someone pointed out more blood samples. He nodded before heading over to the evidence. Once more transmuting empty rounds into the tools that he needed. He looked up and noticed more people were helping out with gathering evidence. But his eyes drifted towards all the APS members. They were all now unmasked. Each one had their ow little something to them. He was actually surprised that there were more girls on the team. But it didn't faze him too much. He turned back to his work in hopes to find as much as he could. He looked over to Hathom and noticed the man was on the phone. He would ask him a few questions after his phone call. So for the time being he would just do what he did best.

Meanwhile........

Lucius had had enough, standing from his perch he leaped to the pavement below him. Padding slowly over to the group he turned to look at Rey and Molly who was still hanging on for support. Approaching the two he scuffed, nostrils emitting a small amount of black smoke into the air as he moved to the two of them. His dark scales danced with the light of the street lamps, his emerald eyes fixed on the two but he turned his attention to Molly, transmitting his voice to her head 'You were impressive out there, deserving of a bit more credit in my opinion.. I am Agent Lucius, a fellow peacekeeper' His introduction was pretty bland but he wasn't the most skilled at making conversation.

Turning his gaze to Rey he nodded a greeting before looking back to molly. His eyes then averted to Hathom, who seemed to be in deep conversation with someone dear on the other end of his device. Pondering on going to receive orders he disregarded the thought as there probably was none to give at this point. Lucius would need ro remind himself to turn his communication device back on once human again as it had been turned off when he arrived on scene quite recklessly.

The device was simply a band around his wrist that transmitted to the chip in his ear when being dispatched to a scene, however he had turned the band off. Lucius knew his Uncle was probably going to wonder about the current events from this evening and he wasn't exactly sure if he wanted to share the details before even knowing what they were up against.

It didn't take long for Coal to make his way to this low key doctor. He was free to take his mask off as he found himself walking down one of the alleys in Chine Town. Even at this hour there were a lot of people out. And no one really took noticed to him. He found the building where the Doc would be located at and rung the buzzer for the door. An old man's voice came across the speaker. "What do you want?" the angry voice exclaimed.

Coal blinked before pressing the button to talk. "I heard that you can help me." He stated. He waited a second before the buzzer rang again, this time it was to let him in. He pushed through the door just in time and went inside.

He pulled the card from his pocket and looked at the address. He needed to head to the sixth floor and find apartment 613. It didn't take him very long before reaching the mans door. He knocked only for the voice from before telling him to just come in.

The apartment was small, and clustered with all kinds Chinese religious items. An old man was in the living room gathering a few things on the coffee table. "Come." He said picking up all the tools and leading Coal to one of the back rooms.

Besides Coal and the old man, there was an older woman and a younger daughter. The girl looked around 13, and watched Coal carefully as he followed the old man into the next room.

The room was even smaller and had too chairs and a sturdy table. More medical tools and equipment covered all corners and sides of the room. "Let me look." he stated. His English was a bit broken and he had an accent. He took a seat in one of the chairs and motioned for Coal to sit next to him. His eyes were already focused on Coal's arm as the boy had been clutching it tightly. Coal unzipped his hoodie and started to take the jacket off. The old man was quick to assist Coal with the hoodie when Coal got to his left arm. The man frowned a bit when he saw blood and bruising all over Coal's upper arm.

The man slowly rolled up Coal's sleeve seeing that his skin had been broken by what looked like a bullet wound... But it was just the tip of the iceberg. He had to have been hit by something really hard first. He walked over to one of the tables holding tools and picked up a pair of scissors. He walked back and began to cut Coal's shirt. Coal would have protested but he needed his arm fixed if he was going to go home and play this off as a skateboarding accident. He wasn't sure if he could pull this off or not. If he went to the hospital they would call Kaylee, but if he needs stitches... Which looked like he just might need them... He didn't have any idea on how to explain this.

The doctor placed a pair of small glasses on his face after putting down the scissors. He looked over the arm and shoulder before speaking loudly in Chinese. The woman in the other room answered in the same language and sounded angry. But then both the woman and young girl came into the room.

"You dislocated your shoulder." The main pointed to Coal's shoulder without touching him. The woman handed something to the Doctor who handed it to Coal. "Here... " he held out something tough wrapped in plastic. He motioned for Coal to place the bit in his mouth. Coal gulped a he placed the bit between his teeth. The woman moved behind him as the doctor lifted up his arm to shoulder length. The woman placed a hand to his shoulder and the other to his lower back. The doctor moved the arm out to line up with Coal's shoulder, and was now to his side. "This will hurt..." He warned. But the warning was short lived and before Coal could even nod the man and the woman were quick to shove this arm back into place.

Coal let out a yell and bit down hard on the bit. His breathing picked up as a new rush of pain crashed through him. The woman moved Coal into one of the chairs and took the bit from him. She took a step back as Coal tried to push himself through the pain.

It hurt like hell but at least he could move his arm again. The doctor looked deeply at Coal's other wounds on the shoulder. He waved his hand and motioned for the young girl to come over. The young girl did as she was told and was now looking at Coal's arm. Once more they started to speak in their own language and the younger girl nodded to the older man's words. She turned back to Coal as did the doctor. "She heals... But only half." He told him.

Coal looked confused, "Only half?" he asked. He could gather quickly that this girl had to be a fellow mutant with healing powers... But why only half?

"She not as powerful... Beginner." the man stated. "She remove this and stop bruise from bigger.." He told him. Coal could not complain and nodded.

The girl took a step closer and placed both hands on his shoulder. He winched at the cold touch but felt them warm up quickly. The open wound started to heal and was soon gone as his bruise and swelling started to go down. She stopped soon after leaving on nasty bruise on his shoulder. It was still swollen, and looked horrible, but Coal could now actually play this off as a boarding accident.

The doctor nodded to the girl an the girl and woman left the room quickly and quietly. "I give you pain pills...And you ice." He said heading over to a desk against the wall. He pulled out a medication bottle with some Chinese written on it. He handed the full bottle to Coal. "You now pay...." the man looked over Coal's arm and held up ten fingers. Coal's jaw dropped. "you want how much?" he asked.

The man nodded, "Ten... Ten thousand." he added. Coal shook his head before looking around. He found his bag by the chair. He had brought it in with him but with getting fixed up he payed more attention to that. He ruffled through the bag and pulled out what he needed. He placed it on the table before shoving the bottle of pills into the bag. As he got out of the chair he felt a weight come off his shoulder and a large amount of pain.

Not much was said or done as Coal left the place quickly. He would keep this guy in mind next time he got injured. Hopefully if he ever come back it will be something bloody.

Now all that was left was to return home and hide the cash before Kaylee got home tonight. She was working closer to the center of the city so she wouldn't be home until 3 or 4 in the morning. This gave him more than enough time to hide the cash.

Strange. Combat, battle, fighting, war- whatever people called it now, was always strange to him. To willingly conceive the thought of taking the life of another, and then following through in action. He could understand the thought behind the action, if one were to act upon such villainous impulses, then others would have permission to stop them. But how they did do so was questionable. The choice weapon of most were a handheld way to administer high speed projectiles to directly insert a lead missile into the target, and depend on the caliber, penetrate deeply into said target. He would have to get himself one sometime.

And as he observed the fight from varying sources, mostly the CBS news network spiraling around the intense military that had recently unfolded against the villain Vanguard, who concealed his identity behind a simple hood and mask. Maybe he himself would need one of those, that sounded like a good idea. Or maybe he didn't need one, nobody knew who he was anyways. He'll see what reaction he gets by the people he might confront.

He gripped his recently stolen phone a little harder by the tips of his pointed fingertips, little indents familiarizing themselves again in the case of the smartphone. The CBS app buffered, continuing with the little woman promptly explaining what had happened in a diluted sense, only really touching on the parts where officers had put their lives for the public's sake, and massive destruction had taken place with taxpayer money used on paying for the city's police department and america's A.P.S. dispatch force having to clean up each time a villain decides to show themselves, and how the peacekeepers are doing their best to keep the city safe. Maybe she was trying to coerce viewers to try and retain sympathy for their protectors. She's doing the people's work.

Typical. 'Stay inside viewers.' He leaned backwards on the wall that sheltered him from the street lights out to the alley exit to the right of him. He didn't attract the attention of many, and the few that did walked briskly past quickly, the stigma of muggers lurking in the shadows, no matter how stupid the mugger might be, The screen brightly flashed before Leo's reflective body, who had perked up when the same news helicopter he was viewing the newscast from.

With his interest truly piqued, he slithered out from the shadows, his form solidifying and becoming something more familiar. Human. Something that he truly adored. He stood somewhere around 5'11", average, and donned a pair of rugged blue jeans, a sweater, and a baseball cap for the cubs. They simply appeared out from within him, his skin giving way to clothes, and then drawing itself back beneath the soft fabrics. A police line was already established from the scene of the battle. He nodded to himself, and turned away from the varying officers and agents of the peacekeepers, the government's personal task force to keep mutants at an all time low. Nothing he necessarily stood against, but he knew that if risked anything, they were going to be out for his head. He gulped at the thought of being killed.

Purging the thought from his head, he spun on his heel, away from the blood and bodies, the wreckage. He wanted to see the zoo, but he knew it was closed at this time, so he settled for sleeping in the park tonight.

So as Jackle went inside the bank one of the Icarus squad mates, a blonde female, winked at him in a slow manner while holding his file. Jackle was confused by this, her message was sort of lost in his jumbled brain of being tired, kinda sad, anger, and all these other emotions he was feeling.

Well inside the Bank he had to use a flashlight to see since it was dark. Of what he could see was interesting, besides the giant hole and the police car in the bank from the fight. The mutant had used his powers to bend or rip off various metal doors and gates, the most obvious being the bank's vault door off its hinges entirely. As he walked by he makes evidence as usual even if it was the same type of thing.

Well after snooping for a bit he found the security room for all the cameras. It seemed like they were all intact so he began playing through the footage. What he saw was when the bank closed, the security officers were wondering about until four people entered, one being Vanguard and the others he assumed were his associates. Well the security was doing their jobs until Vanguard did his metal power thing and the officers backed off and left the building, understandable since what can ordinary people do to a mutant? Either way what followed was what most people would assume, Vanguard opening the vault, alarms triggering from the forced removal of said door, the gathering of money, and the three men left while Vanguard went out and began the whole conflict.

Sadly when Jackle investigated the areas the thieves walked, there wasn't any other evidence than the metal doors. Just as Jackle was about to walk out he noticed Sparks smoking a cigar, on top of the police car. Though he kept going he wondered if maybe Cigars could do a better job at relaxing Jackle than Cigs, maybe he should try them one day.

When Jackle left the building, he saw William a little ways off. He then noticed his cig was running low, so when he approached William he took one long puff before taking it out of his mouth, dropping it to the floor and crushing it under his foot, away from the evidence.

"Found the security footage, our mutant here had some friends. There were three of them, male from the looks. All had ski masks and gloves so can't gather any evidence there. The vault door was ripped from it's hinges and most metal in the bank was bent in some shape or form. The three men went out the back with the money while our friend stayed behind and caused all this mess. Find anything?"

Hathom had to suppress a laugh at her slurring words. The action causing him to cough a few times, blood from the collapsed lung rising upwards as result. "I'm ok Kaylee. I'm ok. We learned a lot in this fight. Next time he won't get away. I promise I'll let you get the chance to rip his face off." He with equal amounts patience and humor. He was trying to appease her drunken fury snd concern at the same time. Still, the small smile could not be erased from his bloodied face. Haythom didn't believe in a higher power but if one were to present the gorgeous, angry drunk on the other line as evidence to its existence, he might actually consider it.

Good thing she only saw fly through the wall and didnt see his liver blow out the back of his body, taking 2 ribs with it.

Speaking of...

"We have a helicopter coming in and they are going to fix me up. Do you want me to send for you? Just so you can see I'm okay."

Sandra: "Looks like someone dealt with some hartbreak in before. Listen Hammer, If I went 'round blamin all men for everythan' then I'd nevur get married. Lotsa good men out there. Just gotta look for em." She said proudly without looking up from her papers.

Rey: "Such sage advice from someone who is still single." The younger woman teased which only drew a small huff from the blonde as she kept scanning the application papers. "Alright Molly. Lets go get you something to pulverize." The red head said as she got under to suppprt Molly once.

Alejandra: "What do you want to tell the captain? He wont talk to anyone right now so I can take el mensaje, Detectivo."
