Realistic or Modern Mutant Apocalypse IC

tumblr_ndcawkMnli1tgmvjco1_500.gif

Welcome to New York.
The city that never sleeps..... And neither do the people that live there.
It's not because there is always something to do, or due to the overly active night life....
It's because of those that hold power that could only be found in science fiction.
But now it has become a reality.

No one knows really how they got these extreme talents. Some got their talents from science itself. On purpose or by accident. Others are known to be born with this strange and rare talent.

But one thing is for sure.... They are real.

For the past ten years people have been showing up with strange abilities or have created suits or tools to give them an advantage over your everyday man. It started out with people running around and using their abilities for good. As the days moved on, some of our first Heroes eventually became our first Villains.

The so called 'Epic' battles between good and evil soon became a big problem for the City of New York and the world. There are still only a handful of these people running around, but the damage they cause and the people they hurt have caught the attention of all, young and old.

Eventually the Government had to step in and take action to stop these so called 'Villains' and 'Supers' from fighting and being destructive. So they too created their own team. A team that had abilities similar or equivalent to those running around. This team does not act out on their own. A group of men and women chosen to become part of a council that would decide if the Team would retaliate evens involving the Villains and Supers. Their job, to stop the fighting and to retain those in question..... Good or Bad.... To them there is not difference.

Most or all of these people with abilities seem to be found strictly to New York. coming form other countries or any place other than New York.... But for some reason, all of those with abilities find themselves drawn to New York.

Your Mission (if you chose to except):

Is to create one of these types of characters:
Hero
Villain
Peace-Keeper
Normal Human

Powers will be limited. No more that two to three powers per character.

Also this will be a detailed rp! Nothing less than two to three full paragraphs per post. (even with that said, I'd rather see three full paragraphs)

William swirled a spoon around in his new hot cup of coffee. His eyes lingered over the moving liquid as his mind drifted off into his deep thoughts. It had been ten years since all this mutant power like people had started showing up in the world. And yet even with the task forces and other mean of controlling them, he felt like they were still at square one. It wasn't just the destruction they had caused, it was also the fact that the rate of missing people had gone up a few years after the first sighting. The coincidences of this was not far from a strong connection between the victims. It was more so the fact that they had yet to find any clues as to who was taking these people and what they were doing with them?

William couldn't remove his eyes of the free spinning liquid after he removed the spoon. He placed it on a nicely folded napkin next to the cup. This was his and his partner's last day at the station. Tomorrow they were transferring to another facility to work with the all famous A.P.S. The A.P.S. was a group well placed together to help keep the peace between self proclaimed 'heroes' and other such mutants that participated in breaking laws and committing outrageous crimes. It was already late and he didn't need to be at the office. But one more late night calmed his nerves. He was always very well in control of his feelings and nerves but something told him that something big was coming their way. Something that lingered in the pit of his stomach.

William picked up his cup and took a gracious sip f the hot liquid. He quickly dripped his jaw and let the hot liquid drop back into the cup. "Hot." He whispered to himself as he took the napkin the spoon had been sitting on and began to wipe the excess coffee from his lips and face.

William placed the napkin next to the cup before placing both hands on the counter before him. He leaned forward once more letting his mind wander over past and present events. He shook his head slowly not knowing what the future would bring.

He looked over his shoulder as a slight tick.. tick.. tick.. sound grabbed his attention. The clock on the wall to the break room took over the silence. He frowned deeply. His last day at the station..... He would miss this place......

William jumped at the sound of someone calling his name. "Brandy!" A female with long fire engine red hair almost rushed by the break room door. She was quick to redirect her rush as she stopped at the door way. "Brandy! We got a call." She stated in an almost panicked voice. William rose a brow as he was curious to such a call. This late and on their last few hours. "What kind of call?" he asked.

Sarah let her shoulders drop a bit, "Bank robbery on 5th and 46th." She stated.

William looked even more confused, but not for very long. Normally the A.P.S. would take care of certain mutant calls, or even the NYPD would take care of normal calls like this. So for him and Sarah to be called out meant the call involved a low class mutant. "Do they know which one?" He asked. Some have been quiet busy running around making a name for themselves. Most of the older so called villains have been taken down by the A.P.S. while some still ran a muck and new ones were popping up all over the place.

"Vanguard." She stated.

This placed William in motion as he left his coffee and was quick to leave the break room. Vanguard had only been around for a few months, but he was indeed a tricky villain. The tell tail of his powers was still a large guess of things. They knew he could control something, but not everything. The extent of his powers were another mystery to add onto who he was and how long he has been around.

They were quick to exchange details as they made their way to the police cars. It was seconds later that they found themselves heading to the scene of the crime in hopes their target was still around. To their surprise the mutant in question was there as they pulled up to the blockade. The hooded figure with the white mask stood right outside the doors to the bank. Officers took their stand behind their cars while a helicopter hoovered above the scene shinning light on the mutant in question.

William and Sarah got out of their all black detective's car and stood by taking in the scene. From what they had gathered was that he was there with a few other non mutants. Those without power were probably already long gone by now. Knowing and studying this mutant both William and Sarah already had a good idea as to why he would linger around after the others already had the money. It was so that the others could get away without being followed and Vanguard would take to the lime light to distract the officers.

'He really was a tricky one.' William thought as the copter flew over and re-steadied itself over the scene.

The A.P.S. was good at what they did. Great even. But sometimes they receive the order too damn late and then they are only suitable as sentries while the detectives and police try to piece together what happened. Whether the lateness of the order be attributed to the local law enforcement not calling it in fast enough or the higher ups taking too long to decide whether or not this was worth their time, it bothered the man greatly. This man was Hathom Long, Captain of Icarus Squad of the Anti-Powered Security firm.

The company decided to send Icarus in full force, fully geared for elimination, not capture. They apparently wanted to send a message this time around to Vanguard that they wont be taking prisoners. Still, it seemed ridiculous to go all out like this for glorified guard duty.

No matter...
DOC: Icarus! We are right over the drop zone. Sound off!

BARD: "Bard, reporting sir!"

FROST: The tall man raises a cybernetic arm as if he was in a classroom.

SPARKS: "Bout as ready as I'll ever be, Captain."

SUEÑO: "I am ready, Capitan."

VIRUS: "Ready sir!"

The pilot's orders blared over the comms and everyone lined up for the 400 foot drop from the sky. One by one, the soldiers jumped out into freefall. Hathom always loved the feeling of falling into nothing. There was something....philosophical about the whole thing. Really could get a man to start thinking about all kinds of things. Alas, the fall is not eternal.

Electric dampeners kick in as the soldiers hit the concrete with a combination of speed and electricity arcing out from their chosen landing spots. It was incredibly flashy but caused no harm to their surroundings unless someone was too close and got shocked. Which would be unfortunate but it has happened in the past.

The law enforcement, for the most part, were completely surprised by the sudden entry of Icarus Squad. They moved aside as the augmented soldiers walked by. Icarus knew where they needed ti go and wasted no time in setting up a perimeter while the captain approached the lead investigators. Interestingly enough, it was the two detectives that were due to be assigned to work with him tomorrow. Funny how the world worked sometimes.

"Detectives. Interesting we meet a whole day early. What have we got here?" His metallic, cybernetic voice flowed out into the air between the detectives. A strange and unnatural voice. No trace of humanity within it even if there was one.

The officers were quick to react to Kenny's little attack. Some stepping back from their posts as their eyes were locked onto Vanguard. While others froze in their spots or some took this as a message from the mutant, and they turned the safety off their guns.

Both William and Sarah heard the voices as well. Their eyes meet before looking back to the mutant still standing in front of the bank doors. Unaware of the knowledge that there were other mutants around William had to assume that this new action came from Vanguard himself. He gritted his teeth as he figured out what the guys powers were. Telekinesis and even a specific form of ESP. This was not good for the officers, especially if they were to get aggressive with this mutant.

But their attention was taken away from Vanguard and the voices very quickly. William felt a wave of relief come over him when the A.P.S. team suddenly dropped in. He felt as if he could breath again. Both Sarah and William turned quickly to the sound of an unfamiliar voice. But the words spoke about their future meeting.

Sarah smirked a little as she looked from the captain of the APS to William.

William of all seemed very excited and moved closer to the Captain and away from his car. He nodded to the other as he tried his best to keep his excitement contained and make sure he presented himself professionally. "It is funny." He stated as he looked back over to Vanguard. Officers were being told to stand down now that the APS had arrived. From this moment on the situation would be controlled and handled by a higher order. This was not new and the officers knew protocol for the change of authority.

William pointed to Vanguard who was now taking notice to the normal cops stepping back while the people who had landed from the sky take their place. "That's Vanguard." He frowned a bit before twisting his lips while he searched for his words. "From what we have gathered in past encounters the subject has displayed a few different ability sets." William looked back to the Captain of the APS and placed his hands on his hips. "So far we have seen Telekinesis and some sort of mental manipulation of ESP. He can move things with his mind and he has recently displayed the ability to create a voice.... Or a mind manipulated form towards our officers." William looked back over his shoulder to Vanguard. "He's also very tricky....." William could recall a few meetings with Vanguard. "Mind you bullets wont work on him. He is known to be able to stop them in mid air." William added as he recalled one of the times watching Vanguard take open fire. After the officers had stopped firing, the bullets never made it to their target. Instead they just froze in the air around Vanguard before dropping to the floor.

Sarah watched the APS team as William spoke with the team's Captain. So this would be the team they were being transferred to. She kind of liked it. She liked their style and the fact that they all looked bad ass. Her eyes trailed over one of the squad members not too far from her sights. She tilted her head as she she looked at their outfits. She let a smirk crease the corner of her lips as she told herself, 'Yes.... I want one...' in her mind.

The night was quiet, dim street lamps barely lit the side walks as Lucius made his way around town, the light ticking of his claws against pavement echoed off the buildings as he ventured further down into the street. Rounding a corner at the end of the street he stopped dead in his tracks, both ears shot forward an he lifted his canine head. The deep rep and glistening white of his coat swayed ever so slightly as a light breeze seemed to sweep over the street. Some sort of commotion was going on just a few streets over. With a deep growl he kicked off his hind legs into a full on sprint, the large husky had no time to waste in arriving to the scene.

Rounding the corner he was faced with a newer villain, Vanguard. But then on the opposite side of the street a blockade. Growling under his breath he spun on his hind and took off back around the corner, darting down an alley he then found a set of steel stairs leading to a rooftop. Bounding up the stairs he panted once reaching the top, moving to the edge of the building he was now looking down at the criminal. It was still a bit odd for him as he was a criminal, he did rob places in the past.. He had injured people mainly for the sport of doing so. Shaking his head back to reality he crouched low on the rooftop, his chest almost grazing the material below him. Closing his eyes he began to picture bones and structure in his head. Lucius' bones began to snap and crack as he grunted lightly in a slight pain, his fur began to fall out. Large puffs of red and white were swept away in the breeze, some tumbling down over the edge of the roof. Two slightly curved black horns began to pertrude from the top of his head, the bone structure in his head began to shift. A low snarl released from his throat as he shook out his body, what had once been fur was now replaced with dark, midnight blue scales. Extending his large bat-like wings he let his upper lip curl at the masked man below him.

Letting out a jolting roar he leaped from the rooftop and down onto the street below him, folding his wings in at his side. The long spiked tail swayed back an forth as he stood behind the man, his scaled muscles flexed as he lowered his head to the mans level, glaring at the man his eyes seemed to jitter as he tried to communicate with him 'You cannot win.. They will take you.. More so dead than alive..' Lucius knew there wasn't much the man could do.. However he was simply stalling. Snaking his head around he was now looking at the blockade. Two detectives and the squad.. How cute. Lucius itched so badly to turn on them but he knew he had promised his only family that this was going to be who he was. Growling he looked back to the man before something caught his keen sense of hearing. Two people on the roof on the opposite side. With a snarl he pushed off the rough surface of the road, using his wings he flapped a solid few times to get himself to the rooftop. His beating emerald eyes glared at the two, they seemed young. Releasing a roar he took a step toward them, his eyes jittered once more and he attempted to connect with the long, dark haired woman 'What exactly do you think you are doing?' Lucius' eyes squinted towards them, his tail flicked anxiously as he let his upper lip curl slightly as a low growl erupted from deep within his throat.

The Captain nodded a few times as the information was relayed to him by the detectives. The file on Vanguard was a brisk read. That is to say that there wasn't much on him. But creating voices certainly wasn't on the profile and Hathom somehow doubted that something like that could go undocumented this whole time. It didn't make sense that he would have been hiding a power like this. So either he was developing new powers over time or he had help. "Understood detectives." The agent activated his comms and his voice came to life in the helmets of the others. He turned away from the two lead detectives out of courtesy. His steely, mechanical voice letting loose a quick strip of orders for everyone to follow.

DOC: "SUEÑO and VIRUS, start scanning the area for possible assistants to the fugitve Vanguard. Check windows, rooftops, streets, and report any suspicious activity. VIRUS, look into any questionable cyber traffic. Report any anomalies. SPARKS, bring up our rear and keep the perimeter. Assist where needed."

"FROST and BARD. On me. We are going in through the front door. Gonna introduce ourselves."

That earned a small bit of laugter from the company.

DOC: "We aren't pulling any punches here people. You have authorization to use lethal force. Let them go home in body bags."

[!!!]
(I will put this little icon whenever my soldiers have been given to permission to kill. It basically means that players could be wounded pretty badly and possibly even die. Be careful everyone.)

A unanimous YES SIR! blared over the squad's comms. Immediately the cybernetic agents came to life. They all flicked their safeties off and shouldered their weapons as they moved into position. VIRUS and SUEÑO leaped up to the roof of the bank in one bound, wasting no time in setting up. VIRUS began monitoring traffic as ordered and SUEÑO began sweeping the rooftops for enemy snipers or scouts. Finding nothing through normal vision, the A.P.S. marksman switched to infared and swept the area again.

SPARKS moved to rear and began providing overwatch from the ground level, keeping an eye on the darkened streets. FROST and BARD fell in on both flanks of Captain Long as he pushed past the barricade and strode up to the front door where the criminal awaited them. A few hand signals were given out and the two agents spread out, taking the flanks of the enemy.

SUEÑO: "I've got two on a nearby rooftop Capitan. Take them out?" No...make that three. A winged mutant.

SPARKS: "Yup, definitely a mutant. He landed on the street, stared this way and then took off to the people on the rooftop.

DOC: "Keep an eye on the two. They could be civis. Fire on the winged one if he even twitches in a way you don't like."

SUEÑO: "Yes sir."

Hathom let his weapon rest relaxed in his arm. The whirring of his augments accenting his silent footsteps. Not a single person on Icarus looked stressed or nervous. It appeared as if this was just another walk in the park for them. Another day at the office. Hathom being so calm, it was actually intimidating. The soldier walked with the authority and pride of a commander. A soldier forged through the fires of hell itself.

DOC came to a halt a respectable distance away from the entrance. The male took an unnecessary breath and let his cybernetic vocal chords sound out loud and clear. "Vanguard! I'm sure you know who we are and I'm sure you know we have taken down cats bigger than you in the past. I'm sure you dont want to die today and we don't want to waste the bullets. And just so you know..." the soldier patted his rifle a few times, "This isn't the peashooter police use. Your going to have hard time stopping bullets that come out with over twice the kick of standard police firearms."

(Ignition) Jimena Martinez & (Psycho) Kenny Martinez
The events were a lot for the siblings to take in. Jimena recoiled as the APS dropped down and did their flashy landing. As they did, she felt her powers falter slightly. No, it wasn't in fear, it was in excitement. Lucky for her, she wasn't stoned at the moment. There was a fighting spirit present at the back of her mind.

Kenny found it a bit harder to comprehend what was now going on. The squad was preparing to apprehend the villain known as Vanguard. What a silly name, Kenny thought in his mind. His gaze suddenly shifted to a hideous, scaly creature that landed on the rooftop next to them.
"What the fuck?" He calmly turned his gaze to the winged creature. Of course, it was only an extremely life-like illusion of Kenny that was talking. The real Kenny Martinez stood behind the scaly creature, with his small 9mm handgun drawn and pointed at the back of the creature's spine.

Jimena's attention diverted as the creature faced her.
"How about you mind your own business?" She crossed her arms and glared at the creature's emerald eyes with her own purple irises. Her body temperature began to rise to the point her sleeves began to burn slightly. She stood between illusion Kenny and the creature. A smirk crossed her lips as two powerful wings of fire burst from her back, matching the size of the beast's. She shook her head and closed her wings, only keeping them on standby in case she had to make a quick escape from the beast. "You're also going to wake up our neighbors. They'll be mad."

Kenny sighed and dissipated his illusion. The true enemy was the police officers, not this beast. The beast was none of his concern. He put the gun away and looked down at the officers with his piercing red glare. In his vision, the brains of the normal officers were lit up like a Christmas tree. He extended his hand out and clenched his fist. If all went the way he hoped they would, then the officers would all fall unconscious on the spot, dropping to the ground as if they had suddenly had a stroke.

Lucius who had been focused on the two infront of him had to growl to himself as he heard the booming robotic vocal cords reaching out across the street. Doc, who was a well skilled soldier. Lucius had to put his fiery friend on hold, taking his eyes from her to avert them to the man in charge below. Realising that this had turned into a hot zone was a slight issue as he was probably going to get in a major amount of trouble for not having his communication device turned off so showing up at the scene was not exactly a good idea for him. Allowing his mind to travel down he transmitted himself to Doc ' I apologize sir for the intrusion, its Lucius..a peace keeper. I will remove myself from the scene if you wish it..' the apology was probably way to late to even phase the man but Lucius had to make himself known or he was going to be a target.

Before Lucius could even think the fiery woman before him was now turning her attention back to the officers below, Lucius did not want to act out on the account that he and them two were all targets, Lucius knew they were being watched from somewhere. Back to stalling until he got a reply. His beating emerald eyes glared back at her 'These men will kill you .. I'm trying to help you.. Please do not get involved' the breeze began to pick up once more and Lucius had to tuck his wings tighter against his sides, his attention not straying from her, although some was drawn toward Doc who he was patiently waiting for and not moving from the position he was in.

The commotion below was interesting to watch from this angle however a woman with fiery red hair standing behind the blockade caught his reptilian eye as it blew in the breeze. A detective? Lucius couldn't recall ever meeting her before but maybe he had just gotten lucky to see her this time. Glancing toward the opposite side of the street where he had started he though he had seen movement. However while still unknowing if he was a target he refused to move from the rooftop he was standing on.

William and Sarah looked to one another as the Captain of the APS took the information and placed it into play. Sarah twisted her lips as she turned her attention back to the target at hand. William had to take another glance at the APS Captain before turning his gaze back to the main subject. William could not tell if this will get out of hand or if this will be taken care of with ease. Either way he had a bad feeling about all of this. His bad feeling made him step back when all of a sudden a dragon appeared on the scene. Even Sarah had to take a deep breath as this was not what they were expecting.

Vanguard turned his attention to the dragon for but a moment before the beast flew off.

Sarah gulped a bit, "So this is what we are getting into?" She asked looking over to William.

William had his eyes following the dragon as he answered. "This is what we are getting into..." His words drifted with the commotion. Once more they had to focus. Seeing as this was already escalating without anyone firing any weapons or even making any moves just yet. He feared for those around them. These officers had been their second family for some time. So when half of them suddenly dropped to the floor passed out both William and Sarah rushed to their sides with those that were still standing.

Those that did not pass out either looked like they wanted to or even mentioned feeling very light headed. William gulped as he looked over one of the officers. He feared that maybe they had taken Vanguard too lightly. His file had merely been passed off as a disturbance or a thug involved in organized crime... Still he was only recently active for the past few months, but this night was different. Maybe the Captain was on to something. Maybe he knew more about this kind of thing and this was why they were going to be teamed up. William only hopped that when they do join forces they will be able to really make a difference.

Vanguard watched as the dragon flew off. Not taking the dragon's words or appearance seriously. He found it more as an annoyance than anything. But after the dragon left his eyes drifted over to the police. They were backing down, he would have questioned this further, but when three people walked past the barrier he had a better understanding over things. One stood out over the others. And soon was a few feet away from him. His eyes narrowed behind his mask as the man began to talk.

Coal could not help the hidden smirk when the man told him about their weapons. Maybe today was the day that he could really test his powers. He knew of the APS and had seen clips on the internet and on tv. He wanted to thank the Captain for the warning but figured to get this little party started. He didn't even notice the officers passing out in the background as he held up a finger to the Captain. Gesturing to hold on a moment.

He pulled out his phone and started to tap away n the screen with his thump while his other hand was placing an ear bud into one ear. Coal knew what song he wanted for this. Thank god for blue tooth as a wire would get in his way at this point. Finding the song he wanted he pressed play.

With the music now playing in one ear Coal could not pass up this opportunity. His eyes focused on the man before him as the air around them shifted. It felt as if the magnetic force around them had enhanced or had become known. Doc would be able to notice this quickly as he had robotic parts in him. His metal parts would feel a bit frozen or hard to move.

Coal narrowed his eyes and tilted his head a bit as if saying 'bring it'. His heart started to race a little in his chest as he took in slightly deeper breaths. His hands went to his sides and balled into fists, waiting for them to make the first move. But if they take too long... Coal really didn't mind making it. If he did he would not hold back. This was his excuse to really put his powers to the test. No more little mafia fights or little police chases. This was where he would show the world and himself what he could do.

When Vanguard didn't respond Hathom opened his mouth to give the order but his thought process was impeded by other thoughts. A voice that wasnt his own was speaking in his head. It introduced itself as Lucien and apologized for being here without permission. Hathom quickly drew the line between Lucien the peacekeeper and the winged beast up on the rooftop right now. The Peacekeepers did, indeed have an agent by the name of Lucien. A wild card who was a shapeshifter and a telepath. Under his helmet, the captain's expression changed to a grimace of irritation.

'You fancy yourself a hero now Lucien? Last time I checked, they were the ones that showed up on crime scenes uninvited and do whatever the hell they want.' In his mind, Hathom had his natural voice. Before the incident that took his body from him. A deep, husky baritone that sounded like it belonged to a war hero. A voice that commanded respect and inspired. Of course, right now it was heavily aggravated and instilled fear and dread.

SUEÑO: "Capitan. One of the suspects is moving his arm. He -"

Just then, half of the boys in blue dropped like sacks of meat. The other half looked unsteady on their feet at best. Downright unstable at worst. The detectives rushed to assist but the A.P.S. agents didnt budge. They were just watching their sectors. A small inhale came in over the comms followed by a very slow exhale.

DOC: Hold fire, SUEÑO. The winged mutant is one of ours.

'Alright, Agent Lucien. Those two are in the sights SUEÑO and have been for awhile now. I'm sure you know who she is. You have all of 5 minutes to bring them in under suspicion of assaulting all of these officers. SUEÑO will kill them after that. Get to it "hero". That's an order.'
The captain said mentally towards the shapeshifter. He relayed the same information to his marksman. In 5 minutes she was to dispatch them both if Lucien couldn't bring them in. She called in her affirmative and merely watched. Out of all of them, Alejandra had the best eyes. If for some reason, she suspected Lucien for letting them escape somehow, DOC gave her specific orders to kill Lucien for going rogue. The thought made her lips turn up in a smirk. She had never slayed a dragon yet.

Hathom took a step forward towards Vanguard after he was done hitting play on his little song, not going unnoticed by Icarus with their enhanced senses. But the moment he did, he felt resistance. Most of his body was synthetic in nature but he did have metal parts within him and he wasn't the only one. He could tell FROST felt it too. This started to make the wheels in Hathom's head turn as to what power this villain Had exactly.

[!!!]

"Take him down."

Instantaneously and simultaneously, the three augmented soldiers brought their weapons to bear and opened fire. Concentrated bursts of fire rung out into the night sky as the bullets cracked out of their rifles with the power of an anti-material rifle behind every shot. Normally, this wouldn't be what they would pack but they were sent out to bring body bags this night. Not prisoners.

Without waiting to see the results of the concentrated fire, BARD unclipped a H.F.D.E. grenade from her armor and used the full power of her augmented limb to hurl it at the villains foot. "HG out!" She cried.

High Frequency Disorientation Explosive. A grenade that detonates on impact, creating a deafening, high frequency sound that can render someone deaf if it lands too close. A blinding light also causes heavy disorientation. The thing is a roided up flashbang made to deal with supers. If they cant think straight, they cant use their powers effectively.

The other agents maintained their positions, knowing how crucial it was to hold them. The situation was rickety as is.

Nicolai sometimes dreamt of his home country, the wild landscapes, the snow and vast forests. Siberia's winds were cold and unforgiving, but when you breathed in the air was clean.
The smell that invaded his nostrils now was that of rotten food and smoke, which made his senses unpleasantly aware.
The russian's hair was messy, his eyes alert and his jaw moving as he consumed the strawberry chewgum.

Nicolai's head turned at every unfamiliar noises, glaring at the annoying traffic jams, eyeing with curiosity teenagers and their skateboards.
He searched in his jeans' pockets for some money, his last dealing job paid well, and retrieved enough to buy himself an hot dog. But a small crowd of people all standing in front of a shop's tv took his interest. He could hear each and every of their scared and amazed whispers, but he decided to focus on the reporter speaking.

"As of right now the bank is under Vanguard's control, there's no telling if-"

He grinned a little crookedly, perhaps this could be to his advantage. But his bright white teeth were sheltered again behind his lips just a few seconds there, with the reporter announcing APS's arrival.
A growl like noise left Nicolai's troath, earnin the scared and weirded out looks of those around him.
"
Эти придурки везде."

The people's attentions had returned to the news, so while slipping out of the heavy crowd he casually took a few wallets with him, most containing no more than twenty or even ten dollars. He stuffed the bills in his pockets, threw the three unfortunate wallets on the ground and finally grabbed that hot dog.

Nicolai really didn't know what to do with his powers, and though he had never used them for any good, he didn't consider himself a villain. Just a penniless boy in need of a job that paid well; but anytime he thought about joining an organisation, may it be good or evil, memories of years spent into a cage and taunts came to haunt him back.

The young man scratched his chin, throwing the remaining part of his lunch to a stray dog. He petted the creature shortly, before ultimately raising from his seat.

It's not like he had something to do, except maybe search for someone who'd sell him weed. And in fact, Nicolai was curious to see some actions. He'd look like any other nineteen year old in the busy crowd, anyway.

So finding an isolated hallway Nicolai shifted into his fox form, narrowingly avoiding the busiest streets he ran towards the bank, ultimately stopping a couple of blocks from the incident, to then casually walk in like any other civilian.

Not much of the scene could be made out from where he was standing, bullets noises and smoke were the only things that reached his ears and nose, so he paid attention to the other civilians' gossips in order to understand the situation.

Coal felt the heat wave of ammo coming at him a lot faster than the normal hand guns and weapons the police had. The Captain was right as he lifted his hands up to hold his field stronger around him. The first rounds were able to get a foot away from him before they had stopped completely in mid air. But after that Coal focused his energy on expanding his field. The bullets were now being stopped four to five feet away from him. Coal held his ground tightly as this was noting compared to what he had already been through. These guys were really packing.

Coal felt something bulkier enter his field. His eyes shifted towards a grenade heading his way. A hand moved to focus on it. He gave his field a good push back after catching the grenade in his field. The bullets turned around and returned the fire back on the APS. Even the grenade was shoved back towards BARD.

As the bullets shot back Coal didn't even realize how hard he had pushed. A large wave of magnetism rolled over the scene, even shoving the cop cars back a good five feet or more. Sarah and William were quick to move and they tried to move the officers out of the way as fast as they could.

William ended up rubbing his hands together before placing them on the ground. A wall about four feet rose up from the ground. It wasn't much but it shielded the officers from the return fire from Vanguard. Sarah could feel her heart pound in her chest. Her breathing quickened as she looked up to find the wall helping the officers keep clear from the cross fire.

"We need to get these guys out of here." William told Sarah. Sarah nodded before getting to her feet. She rushed down the side of the wall to relay the message to the other still conscious officers. "We need to clear out!" she yelled. "Get as many people as you can to any of the vehicles and get them to safety." She added. Those able to do so, were quick to move. Keeping low to the ground they rushed around helping as many officers as they could. This was going to become bigger than just a normal hot zone........

(Ignition) Jimena Martinez & (Psycho) Kenny Martinez
Jimena ignored the dragon as a whole. She couldn't bring herself to care about the dragon-like beast at all, especially after that horrendous order sounded like it was talking to a child. I'm sixteen, for fuck's sake. Jimena rolled her eyes and turned her gaze back down to the officers who dropped to the ground. "Kenny?"

Kenny didn't respond to his sister. He had taken it far, but not as far as he wanted to. The police dropping was only the beginning of a series of powerful attacks. In his burning red eyes, Kenny's passion for chaos burned like his sister's wings. He turned towards the APS that began to fire at Vanguard and took advantage of the moment. By touching his temple, Kenny sent a powerful wave of mental energy with the intent to knock out as many of those in the APS as possible.

Meanwhile, Jimena focused on the appearance of a fox running into the bank. She would've cared more, but there were some more pressing matters. A grenade had been thrown at Vanguard's feet. Jimena decided that she had to do something about that. She reached out but immediately saw that the criminal had handled it. The grenade was now on its way right back to BARD.

Kenny looked to Jimena and grabbed her hand, tightly. She almost shouted.
"Hey, what now?!"
"Nothing. Just follow me."
Suddenly, the two siblings were on the run, sprinting down the fire escape all the way to the street. They both heard the command issue that the police were going to leave. No. The guys in blue had caused too much trouble for the twins to let them go free like that.

Jimena stepped in front of Kenny and calmly glanced at her last cigarette. She dropped it to the ground. She stepped on it, causing the ground to ignite. A wall of fire roared across the street, scorching the asphalt. She thrusted her hand toward the direction of the police blockade, causing the wall of fire to slowly advance in that direction. "Toasty."

Cringing with every word spoken from Doc he however did groan as the elderly man had called him "Lucien" however out of respect, Lucius did not argue. The scene was starting to heat up an Lucius didn't enjoy the looks of things. However when the young lady turned to look at the boy he frowned an follwed his gaze to the officers. It was this boy causing them harm. Before being able to react to such an action the two were taking flight and that was not about to happen. Releasing a heavy roar into the sky Lucius began to chase them, his talons gripping the rooftop viciously as they began to take the fire escape. Lucius simply leaped from the rooftop down to the ground. With a snarl he sent hia voice to doc 'They are running. If she has the shot tell her to take it!' Lucius was a peace keeper but at some points he has to allow the APS to do their job.

As Lucius landed infront of them he moved himself infront of the fire, however standing on the opposite side of the flames, his back to the officers. With a growl he stood on his back legs, extending his wings he beat them vigorously as he attempted to put out the flame or even slow it down. His plan wasn't exactly working until he spotted the fire hydrant and he quickly moved, using a large front claw he swatted it, knocking the top of the hydrant off, water began shooting from it at an unreasonable pace. Using his talon, Lucius aimed down to the road, the water lapping up the flames quickly. Turning his gaze to the two he then leaped forward, both feet had their talons spread and he landed infront of the two, using one swift swat with his foot he came to strik the young girl in the side, hoping to knock the wind from her as he then kept a single foot on her chest, holding her to the ground. His eyes glared at the boy 'Either you both come with me ALIVE or they will take you in a body bag.. I HAVE 5 minutes' Lucius' tone was aggrivated and firm, his upper lip curled to show his large fangs. Being able to have telepathy was a nice advantage, it also helped to keep people and things out of his own mind, gave him more focus.

He held onto her firmly, she had some sort of fire powers that wouldnt affect his dragon form luckily but if anything else he would have been cooked.

Leonard
Leo was having a peaceful night so far. He had left home roughly an hour ago and has been walking on the rooftops since. To him, NYC was beautiful. He knew others would not think the same, but he didn't care. He hasn't really been anywhere else, so he can't compare it to anything. Having walked a good time now, he came to rest upon the ledge of a building. With one hand on his knee, Leo brought the other up close to his face. From there, he extended his claws. He looked at them with an almost investigative stare. These are what made him him. "I really need to come up with a name for myself" he said to himself. It was true, he really didn't have a hero name. He pondered it for a while now but if he really, really wanted to become official he needed a name.

Leonard could hear a conflict brewing rather close to him. His head snapped around at the sound of gunfire just on the other side. Nearby he saw a dragon-like creature descend down the fire escape. "The fuck?" he exclaimed at the site. He wasn't too surprised, but it definitely something else. Rushing over to the opposite edge, he looked down onto the scene. All hell was breaking loose. Authorities were firing at a boy who didn't seem to be taking any damage. The police appeared to be behind a wall of sorts. Confused only slightly, Leo wouldn't question it. On the other side there were flames. Not much he could do but watch as he perched himself on the roof.

Anderson
Anderson yawned as he got ready to leave. He was planning on a casual ride to the two he was watching over. He was about to leave when one of his superiors came to him. They started shouting at Anderson, telling him to get to (address of the scene). Him replied with a quick nod and an "Aye, aye captain". He pulled his vest over his black t-shirt and clipped his sidearm holster. Snatching up his keys, he made haste to his vehicle outside. His car was a black Dodge Charger with a small armament in the trunk. Anderson liked to be prepared, so he tried to have something for everything. As he opened the door and slid in, he pushed the keys into the ignition and turned. The car roared to life and the interior lights turned on. Next to him in the passenger's seat was a file containing some info on the detectives he was assigned. "Detective William Brandy and Detective Sarah Pitch, sounds fun" he said as he shifted the car into reverse and stomped on the pedal. The tires screeched as he swung the vehicle around to face the exit of the garage. Activating the sirens, he sped out and continued in the direction of his destination.

Speeding in, his vehicle came to a screeching stop as it drifted into the street behind the officers. A mere second after his car came to its stop, the door flew open as he stepped out. Anderson threw the door shut and released the clip to his holster. Pulling the pistol out, he ran quickly towards the scene. Someone appeared to have summoned a wall to cover the police officers, probably Brandy as it did say "Material Manipulation" in his file. He came to a stop and crouched down near the two detectives. "Detectives" he said, nodding to them. He peaked his head over the wall to see a boy who seemed to oppose them. Bullets were being fired, but none hitting their target. "What are we dealing with here?" he asked as his eyes returned to them. His grip tightened around his gun. He felt a little late to the party, but he's here know.

The sniper woman of Icarus merely watched as the peacekeeper agent known as Lucius attempted to "talk" them down. She truly doubted it would work. These two seemed to have their own agenda and didn't even seem to care that A.P.S. was on the scene. This made Alejandra ecstatic.

There was nothing she loved more than an easy kill.

There was a moment where the majority of Icarus squad felt as though they were blacking out but their cerebral augments kicked in to stimulate brain activity and bring them to full consciousness. It was now confirmed that it wasn't Vanguard's doing that rendered the officers immoblized. It was this other mutant.

The hawk-eyed, infared seeing female continued to watch as the dragon man gave chase. He was going out of his way not to hurt them. He swatted at her instead of clawing her and even tried to put out the flames. How noble of him.

But it came to an end.

[!!!]

The marksman didn't need to think nor breath. Her sights had been trained on the girl the moment the dragon started going after her. SUEÑO pulled the trigger.

A sharp crack ripped into the city skyline as the bullet was set loose from its chamber. The fire conjuring mutant stood no chance. They only had human reaction timing and speed. Humans react at an average of a 4th of a second but the bullet moved at 5 times the speed of sound. The girl's head rocked backwards as a coconut sized hole was forcibly excavated through her skull.

The scope now moved to the other child in preparation. Lucius couldn't stop one. Let's see if he could arrest this one before he became a threat.

Well things had gone from okay to the worst situation for Jackle... At first it was thought of to be a simple robbery then it turned out to be one of those damned mutants. What was it's name? Vanguard or something Edgy? Whatever it was it just stopped any fire from the police once engagement started. The came APS and the two detectives that're supposed to join their ranks, well at least the situation will be solved!

WRONG!!!

Suddenly the situation became trigger happy as the APS squad began firing at the Mutant robbing the bank. Yet that's not even the worst of it! Suddenly, totally out of nowhere in left field, almost all the officers around him just suddenly collapsed knocked unconscious. Jackle was on the verge of passing out before he tripped and knocked his head into the ground, knocking him out for a few minutes.

It felt like an eternity and yet it was gone immediately as he awoke to the sounds of a complete battle. There was so much going on in such a short amount of time, He couldn't possibly process it all. He slowly got up and while doing so made his move to the barrier someone erected, he probably knew who it was but he was kinda loopy at the moment.

He blinked a few times before shaking his head that really awakened him a bit. He turned to his comrades William, Sarah, and Anderson, just as he pulled out his Glock 17 pistol which was the only thing he had on him at the time of the attack.

"Damn mutants..." He mumbled. "Well, Anderson since there isn't much we can do to these mutants, let's help Sarah and William get our men to safety! Come on."

Then Jackle holstered his gun and went to the various unconscious officers and began to drag their limp bodies away from trouble, nobody is dying today, not on his watch!

The trio was mildly surprised to see that mutant was, in fact, able to stop the bullets and even the grenade. However, they knew what was coming next. Everything was launched back at them, including the HG but these agents were less worried about that. The grenade is short lived but unbelievably effective. However, the suits Icarus use are equipped with countermeasures for such thing. Mutants with the power of sound had caused some trouble in the past. So they were built to shut down the sensory feedback of the helmets, so as not to overwhelm the user. Of course, this meant that BARD was out of the fight for a few seconds while her sensors rebooted. While it may not seem like much, a few seconds was crucial.

When the bullets were hurled back, it was fast but not as fast as when it came out initially. The bullets pinwheeled into the makeshift barrier behind the A.P.S. and pelted against the armor of the soldiers. It didn't do much to it but it had felt like a professional baseball player just pitched 6 80 mph fastballs simultaneously.

At this point, DOC got an idea. He barked at FROST give him covering fire, to which the mute complied almost too eagerly. Hathom holstered his rifle and pulled his combat knife. A blade that has served by his side since his normal military days.

Using all the force his body could muster, he rocketed forwards to get in close. He could feel the magnetic fields pushing against certain parts of his body. Luckily, most of the Captain was actually synthetic. Skin, muscle, even all of his organs were not natural.

If this gamble was wrong, Hathom was going to thoroughly regret it.

Accompanied only by the soft crunch of gravel beneath her feet, Shadya cautiously made her way towards the beaming lights of the city. New York. She thought to herself, tilting her head just a tad. Never thought I'd get here, of all places. She expected nothing too out of the ordinary - well, ordinary for the state of the world now. Perhaps a couple gangs, a few interesting sights too see, but nothing...for her. Her past experiences whirled about in the corridors of her mind, and just about every bitter memory she wished to forget pierced her brain.

"Ugh." Shadya moaned, delicately pressing her palm to her temple. "I swear to God, the weird visions are not worth the side effects." Retracting her hand back to its place at her side, Shadya continued her lethargic march down the beach path. Every crackle of the gravel trail, every chirp of a cricket - it was all music. Music was one of the few things that kept her going nowadays. She'd decided that she need something new to make every day worth living. And although music was her first love, nothing had seemed to make the day bright like her last. Nothing ever will. She reminded herself.

The final thought she had before she stopped rang in her head, over and over like a broken vinyl. Then came the sound. All at once, the echo of sheer terror shot through the air. Immediately, and even by instinct, she planted her feet into the rocky ground, reached toward her back jean pocket, and pulled out a blade. This particular knife was not one to take lightly - a benchmade 141SBK Nimravus, well taken care of and deadly sharp at that. Quickly stalking up to the nearest building, she pressed herself against the rough concrete wall. Her breathing slowed, and she brought herself close enough to listen - waiting for the answer to the sound of something she knew all too well.

Sarah couldn't help but try to glance over the wall to see what was going on. Her blood was boiling and had an erg to jump in. But she had to refrain herself from doing so. Their fallen comrades were the focus for the APS team had the situation under control.... Hopefully.

She looked back to those around her and purged her lips a bit before thrusting out her arms to either side of her. A rough and thick layer of skin covered them from her shoulders to her finger tips. A bit of red fur broke through at her shoulders and elbows and soon after the skin cracked a bit giving off a faint red glow. She could withstand heat to any degree but her touch would be cool to those around her. She reached out and picked up one of the fallen officers. She tossed him onto one of her shoulders before heading over to another. She did the same with the officer and her other shoulder before making her way to the far cop cars. She would just toss them in the back of the car before heading back to get two more people.

As people started to show up she showed no signs of stopping to conversate about what was going on. To her it was a silly question. So she just continued to grab two at a time and taking them to the vehicles. They needed to clear the area so the APS can do their job.

William on the other hand was dragging one of the unconscious men back when Jackle and Anderson showed up. William pointed to the fallen men and to those who were helping move those who could not move themselves. "We need to clear this area. Get our men out of here and let APS take care of the situation. This whole area is a hot zone and we need to clear out all civilians if possible. From there we will have to wait for confirmation from the Captain." He stated.

William continued to drag the man along with him, but his eyes turned back to the scene for a few seconds as he pulled the officer along. Things were really heating up, Vanguard was tricky... He had seen some of the things this guy did, he only hoped that the APS team would be able to handle this.

Vanguard was quick to hold out a hand in the direction where the gun fire was coming from. His eyes narrowed as his heart rate started to escalate. He held his breath quickly when he felt something. The air shifted when he felt the metal coming towards him from another direction. As Coal started to turn his attention towards the person getting closer to him, the bullets held in the air started to move to his hand and melted together to create a metal bat.

If Coal did not have his field up he would have never noticed Doc heading towards him with a knife. But because the man had some metal in him, Coal was able to pick up on the man coming at him. His hands came together around the handle of the bat tightly. The bullets still being shot at him were now stopping further away from him. Doc had given him a good warning from the beginning. Mentioning that the rounds were fired at a faster speed gave Coal the advantage to adjust his shield correctly.

His green eyes spotted the knife sometime after his powers had already told him that metal was coming at him. His senses were on edge as he could feel the metal all around him. He could even notice Doc's movements because of the metal in the man's body.

Coal grew up in the Bronx, not the best neighborhood, but when growing up in a rough and tough area, one learns how to fight, or learns how to take a beating. Coal learn both. But his fighting skills were not very well placed together. He knew how to fight dirty and how to cheat.

He swung the bat hard at Doc's hand that was holding the knife. Hopefully he would either redirect the hand or make the man drop the knife. Ether way, Coal's next move flowed from his first. After swinging down at the knife, Coal swung up with the metal bat, hoping to connect with Doc's chin. If this didn't work, he had to keep the APS people at a distance. So he shot out another wave. The force would send back the bullets being shot at him at normal bullet speed and a great force would shove Doc and the two other APS members back a good twenty feet. If they were caught in this wave of magnitude they would fly back hard into the wall William had created.

Molly Krystal

"Approaching drop zone Eta 30 seconds!" The pilots shout snatched Molly out of her Daydream. She could hear the gunfire below and knew that things had gone to hell already.
Well he did say something about making a statement. She thought to herself while she rose very ungracefully and gripped the handles near the drop bay.

When the bay doors opened she shivered a bit at the cold air and cursed aloud for her C.O not being here to coach her through the jump again. "Not afraid of heights are ya?" The pilot asked snidely. "Piss off Wheeler." She snapped at him.
She watched the A.P.S chopper that held the rest of the team heading back to the Carrier that sat in the hudson. "No time like the present." She said as she flung herself out of the chopper.

The Air rushing past her face was a pleasant breeze compared to the landing. "Shit." Molly exclaimed as her ankles wrenched and her knees buckled, she put a hand in front of her, but it only slowed her down a little bit, her wrist sprained and her head came smacking down hard on the pavement rendering her unconscious with the echo of gunfire in her mind.

When she came too the scene was much more chaotic. She staggered to her feet gazing for a brief instant at her own blood splattered on the pavement. A wall of flames came arcing towards the police only to fizzle out before making contact. Bullets were still flying, but they were the much bigger and louder rounds of the Icarus squad. but she managed to shake the fog from her mind, still had a bad headache however, but it to was fading. Tapping the earpiece on her left ear her voice crackled over the Icarus Squads Com "Hammer in position, Awaiting orders." She said through gritted teeth as the last of the crack in her skull sealed.

It appears his gamble paid off.

Hathom was able to deduce several things from the short exchange. First that the boy was no stranger to someone drawing a knife on him. Normally, people would recoil or flinch at someone pulling a knife and charging so quickly. Second, was that he was on the younger side. His movements were quick and full of energy. Most older folks had signs of wear and tear though the exact age was impossible to pinpoint. Anywhere between 15 and 25. His attack showed he was definitely no stranger to combat, aiming for the weapon arm first rather than swinging wildly, albeit it did look a bit clumsy to experienced eyes. But the most important thing he discovered was that this boy was no telepath. He was doing something else.

Pushing against the field was a deterrent but not enough to slow him down completely. He moved at a slightly above average speed now and the Captain felt that was more than enough. As the blow came down, Hathom quickly switched hands to avoid the strike and swung twice horizontally. One cut for the throat and one the to the chest. Meant to kill and maim respectively.

Vanguard's next strike came up in the way of a cranial strike. The guy definitely wasn't trained professionally but he did have experience, as guessed before. The soldier brought up an arm to receive the blow and simultaneously delivered a thrust aimed for the lungs. Hathom didnt even get to see the result because as the blow bounced off his armored shoulder, it felt as though his bones were pulling on his flesh. Most apparent was that his rifle practically yanked him backwards and the A.P.S. officer was launched backwards, unable to defend in midair from the pinwheeling bullets. They were launched harder this time and one even managed to hit Captain Long's Visor. It shattered it on the left side and struck him just over the eye, breaking the skin.

The CO was launched all the way back to the makeshift barricade one of the detectives created and crashed through the wall in its entirety. Muscle memory took over at this point and Hathom rolled into the fall as his back touched the ground. Through the half-broken visor, a pale blue cybernetic eye could be seen staring at its target. The mechanisms within the iris could be seen moving rapidly. Like the lens of a camera zooming in and out as it scanned.

BARD's sensors had come back as she was pushed back several feet, as was FROST. The bullets had seemed to richochet off the armor parts but FROST looked as if he had taken a hit in an unarmored section of the leg, though he didn't seem to mind it much. Only Hathom was blown back to such a degree. Why? What was different between him and his men? Was it the distance? A close range user rather than far? No, not possible. He was stopping bullets from several feet away. Bullets, cars, weapons, the HG, and the knife was pushing against him during that short exchange.

Either the guy had a thing for weapons and cars or...

"Discard rifles! Engage in hand to hand! Metal user! Assume it is a Class Beta or higher!"

Due to his augmented brain, the time it took for Hathom to deduce this felt like a long time but in reality, had only taken one second. The two front liners reacted immediately to the new information and dropped their rifles. Hathom decided this was the proper course of action as their bodies contained significantly less metal within them as opposed to DOC's.

Hathom took a knee at his position and through the broken visor, aimed down the sights of his barrel and began laying singe fire rounds. The mutant seemed to have trouble multi-tasking but Hathom wasn't about to lay down anymore automatic fire. Semi-automatic shots strategically placed everytime Vanguard's attention shifted to the best defense and offense duo A.P.S. had to offer.

Hathom calculated several outcomes and decided this was the best course of action. By fist or by bullet, he wouldnt leave unscathed.

It was that the divines above sent Icarus a helping hand. Agent Hammer finally woke up.

"Finally finished with your impersonation of roadkill? Get over here and crush this mutant agent. He is a metal user, so its hard for Icarus to close in. I give you authorization to cut loose!"

Lucius was not surprised when the crackling sound echoed through the sky. An as soon as it did he removed himself from the girl, no sooner had he taken almost a single step, her head was given a large hole. Lucius watched her body fall limp to the pavement below him, standing on all fours he snarled an stepped toward the boy, never catching the names of either two. 'You are next if you do not comply' his tail flailing from side to side like an aggitated feline he gave the boy a moment to decide his own fate.

Kenny, who had been paying more attention to the retreating officers was alarmed when his sister was taken out, her slim figure plunging to the road beneath him and the dragon. Now filled with even more rage he could hardly pay attention to anything being spoken to him. He recoiled an lifted the gun to aim at Lucius. With swift reflexes, the dragon leaped forward, no longer worried of injuries he let his talons extend and claw at the reckless young man who was now attempting to harm him. With an aggrivated roar, Lucius collided his solid, scaled chest with Kenny's upper body, plunging the man backward onto the pavement, lying on his back. The dragons snout reached down to open wide, its large pearly white fangs now visible it grasped the handgun an tossed it to the edge of the road. Turning back to Kenny he began hearing taunting, threatening voices of death ringing through his ears. Annoyed more then distracted he shook his large head 'It didn't need to be this way' with that he leaned down, his jaws clenched around his skull easily as he placed a large front paw down onto the boys chest before wrenching his long neck back into an arch and then flung his head to the sky, Kenny's head still in the grasp of his fangs but no longer attached to his shoulders. Tossing the head away he snarled under his breath 'I can clean that later' with that he moved now to stand behind the APS, his position firm as he began to scan for the captain once more.

Just as he had finished with the boy, a memeber of the squad came darting toward the wall just a few feet behind him, crashing through it. Lucius growled an turned his attention back to the fight at hand, tansmitting himself back to Doc 'Both are deceased.. Neither would comply.. Any orders or help get the officers away from the scene?' Lucius waited patiently, his wings folded to his sides an his breathing was slowly coming back down to an almost normal rate. The echo of shots were bouncing off the walls of the buildings as the battle continued between them and the man with the mask.

Molly Krystal

Molly waited for her commanding officer orders as she watched the battle unfold. She tapped her foot impatiently but didn't have to wait long. Captain Hathom responded first with a Jab, then with the very words she was hoping to hear...Cut loose. "Roger that sir." She said ignoring the minor sting to her pride, but her face turning beat red would tell anyone looking what she really felt, well at the very least he was funny with it. She thought to herself.

She scanned the scene for a brief moment. "Metal user huh." Slamming her fists hard into the pavement, she cracked up a good section of road and grabbing a two and a half foot circular Chunk of asphalt that had to weigh at least 35lbs. Twirling once, she let the artificial boulder fly with as much force as she could. The segment of road fragmented under the sudden speed applied to it and the fragments sailed through the air at just below half the speed of sound. A Professional baseball player would've been put to shame.

Without checking to see if her projectile had even hit she leaped towards the "metal user".The ground beneath her crumbled when her leg muscles forced down on it. She flew with Both hands pulled behind her head in a Savage looking pose ready to bring an unimaginable amount of force down on the target before her. She thought for a moment just a few feet from the boy
this is a person, I'm about to kill a person.
So she Closed her eyes before she came into range she swung blindly at Vanguard.

Vanguard did not expect anything less from the Captain of the APS. His movements were well placed and focused. But the closer his knife got to Coal the more of a resistance came to the metal weapon. The feeling of metal being forced towards his throat made him lean back with a hint of more focus on the blade. Coal was not use to this kind of enemy and the tip of the blade found it's way to his skin. A scratch just under his jaw line, let a bit of blood drip. But this was not the only attack he needed to defend off so quickly. Doc was quick with his next attack. Bringing the blade across Coal's chest...... Coal had to actually move to get away from this one. Even with his field up, the blade was already breaking too close to him and with his focus all around him it was becoming a bit difficult to focus on the bullets and the Captain at the same time.

He was able to move just in time, but Doc had managed to cut a small bit of his hoodie. This was around the time right before Coal had sent out his wave. And the reason being why it was so forceful was because of the knifes next direction. The blade came so close to breaking Coal's inner field, and if he didn't push the wave as quick or as hard as he did the knife would have made contact.

Once the wave was done with, Coal finally took in a breath. His heart was pounding in his chest and he felt like the only thing he could feel was his chest rising and falling. His eyes focused on the Captain of the team that had flown the farthest. His blue eye peering out from behind the broken mask stood out. And for a second it was the only thing Coal could focus on.

Coal dropped his bat as he took a step back when the APS started to drop or remove their weapons. Up until now they seemed very gun happy, but now they were tossing them aside..... Coal let his shoulders drop when he noticed that it wasn't just the guns.... anything metal was coming off of the soldiers. They had figured him out. Well the Captain had it seemed.

At first Coal felt a bit vulnerable, but his fear was quick to turn his thoughts towards something else. A small smirk graced the corners of his lips when he realized what they had just done. As the other two soldiers rushed towards him, Coal reached out both hands and flicked his fingers towards himself. The guns and weapons the soldiers had dropped were the first to reach in front of Coal. Next was an gun his powers could reach. It was literally all of the guns left behind the officers and maybe some from the officer's belts.

The weapons now hovering all around him turned and faced all directions. Coal could not ignore the bullets still being fired at him. With this new attack approaching him, he needed to not only focus but concentrate. He was not fond of loosing, and he would do what ever it took to win. So with one hand he would stop the bullets being shot at him and redirect them at the two rushing at him. While the other gathered weapons, which were quick to fire.

Coal would need to lay down new fire and hopefully find and make his escape. His heart still pounding in his chest told him that he was not prepared for this. But he was adapting quickly. As the guns fired the sound echoed through the street and suddenly stopped as all the guns dropped to the floor.

Coal had little time to notice and react to what was flying in his direction. Coal went to step back but the block of the street was moving too fast for him and the edge of the block hit his left shoulder. The impacted was so quick that Coal's connection to the metal around him was cut as he flew to the ground and rolled a good few feet away from where he was once standing. He gripped his left shoulder and let out a cry of pain. This wasn't new pain though. The pain was a mixture of a possible broken bone and a very bruised or possibly dislocated shoulder.

But he would have to worry about this as soon as he could get to safety. There was a new threat on top of what he was already facing. His eyes went wide as the girl rushed at him. She leaped into the air, both hands raised and ready to strike hard.

Coal used his good hand and whipped it across the air as fast as he could. Without warning a cop car rushed through the air connecting with the girl and slamming both into the front of the bank wall at an alarming speed.

Coal was quick to regain his connections. His shields had been weakened for a few seconds, but seconds were all that he had at this point. The guns were quick back up in the air and were firing in all the directions Coal could remember where the other APS soldiers were.

The two that had rushed at him were targeted the most. Coal gripped at his shoulder once more as he could not move his left arm at all. He felt the cloth under his fingers become wet and warm. He looked down seeing red on his right hand. His arm had to be extremely injured. He needed his escape and fast.
