Adrian Thane
Codename: Phantasm
Type: Wild Card
Music Box: Vs. Monstrous Beasts and Mad Magical Girls ~ Battle Theme

"Go to the Academy, it'll be great." That's what Adrian's mom had said before sending him off to Miss Evelyn Rosemary's School for Magical Girls. So far, it had not been great.

First of all, they'd messed up the uniforms so he was stuck with the wrong ones. On top of that, he had to room with people. Oh, and then there was the training. He had been expecting classes about how to use his powers and maybe the odd fight or two. He had not been expecting to be sent into battle against giant robot monsters by an actual member of the military!

In this particular case, he has his fellow magical girls and boys had been sent up against a giant Sabertooth tiger with a prehensile tail. Not the most creative of monsters but it didn't need to be creative to impale you. Well, actually, it couldn't impale you since impaling the students was apparently a no-no so instead it was reduced to swings with its giant paws and tail which still hurt.

"This... is... the worst!" Adrian groaned, dodging a swing from the beast with each word (counting "the worst" as one word).

Unfortunately, it seemed that the Academy had invested in half decent AI because the beast decided to quit with the swinging and grabbed him with its tail instead. Adrian struggled but it was no use. This thing was strong. He sighed.

"Hey, Adrian." Elfilin, who had been beside him this whole time, said. "Aren't you forgetting something?" He turned transparent in demonstration.

"Oh, right." Adrian said, feeling stupid. He closed his eyes, and slowly phased through the monster's tail and down to the ground below.

Vitus Dual
Codename: The Blessed One
Type: Defender

Miss Evelyn Rosemary's School for Magical Girls was a place that Vitus had the opportunity to excel both with his physical abilities and his gift. He was quite ambitious and sought out to achieve everyones respect and admiration through his dedication and hard work. Even though being a defender was not what Vitus hoped to be, it was the only fit for his Life Energy and Healing capabilities.
Training was Vitus' favorite part of this Magical Girl school. His ancestors before him were famous for being twins of beautiful coherent strategies with high success rates but he and his sister Persephoni were not at all near compatible with their powers. So Vitus took it upon himself to be the best defender he could, on his own. It was clear to see that if anything were to go wrong, if someone were to get hurt, he would take full responsibility.
Seeing Adrian phasing down from the Robots grasp, V created a forcefield wall in front of him and those behind him and shouted towards Adrian and all those taking heavy damage,
"Hey, get behind my forcefield! Maybe we should all work together to find the best way to handle this?"

Persephoni Dual
Codename: Lady Death
Type: Wild Card

Persephoni was standing right behind Vitus, looking very much uninterested in this whole fight simulation. Peaking out at the advanced machinery, Seph remarked with complete annoyance "And how is my Death Energy supposed to do anything to that giant piece of metal?" sighing, she actually decided to take out her phone and scroll through her social media page. In truth, which was not obvious by her actions, she just did not want to harm any of her own team members. Her using her powers usually meant the unpredictable. Being close to her brother meant that no one near her would feel the pull of her draining Death Energy but instead would benefit from her brothers energetic Life Energy.

Lissa had certainly expected there to be a fair amount of combat training at this school. That would have been a big part of their job in the future, after all. Though she wasn't aware that the Academy housed such an elaborate training facility. Hovering in the air on her diaphanous wings, she took a moment to extend her senses. The results were about as she expected. The entirety of the room was solid. Sterile. There was no assistance to be had from her usual companions, and if she did need any, it'd have to come from her own reserves.

"Aww, feeling lonely Mel? Don't worry, I'm still here!" Honey giggled, sitting on Lissa's shoulder.

"Silence."
Lissa droned. Her terse tone came from familiarity, not contempt. She took another breath, raising her distorted voice a bit more. "You heard him, form up behind Bless!" With a wave of her finger, two sheets of chitin punched out of the ground, curving and forming into angled shapes in front of Vitus' barrier. The shape they took resembled a bunker, or at least a pair of tower shields, with openings that any member of the team with ranged attacks could shoot through as it absorbed the tiger's physical attacks. Provided, of course, that Vitus didn't forget to dismiss his own forcefield.

Lissa balled up for a moment, then launched forward, her flight path allowing her to easily flank the tiger. It was very fortunate that it didn't seem to have any ranged attacks, so if it tried to chase her, it'd just be opening itself up to other attacks.

"Speaking of..." The Silent Sting appeared in her hand, configured as a bow. Continuing to stay in motion, she pulled back the string, an arrow of pure silver condensing between her fingers.

"Don't miss Ely! You got it!" Honey waved, her cheers seeming quite sarcastic.

With one of her own eyes squeezed shut, Lissa drew a bead at the creature's eye and...loosed.

Her aim was spot on, but the beast reacted with uncanny speed, ducking and whirling towards her for a moment with a snarl.

"Oops...looks like we need a bit more time on the range."

Veridia dodged a swipe from the tiger and for the fourth time that day, reexamined her life choices.

The beast leapt at Veridia, it's fangs gleaming viciously as it bit at her face. Veridia swung her sword up in an arc to catch the tiger's teeth against it, metal scraping against metal. Sweat trickled down the back of her neck as her muscles strained to hold the sword in place. The tiger's teeth grated against the metal as it attempted to wrench it from Veridia's iron grip. Her knuckles ached from the effort of holding on to the sword, but she couldn't give in, lest she end up as the tiger's next meal.

Well-ok, no, she doubted that the school would allow any of their students to be fatally wounded. From what her mother told her of Miss Evelyn's, the school was the perfect mix of realistic yet safe: it offered hands on curriculum to familiarize the students with the work of magical girls while also making sure that they didn't end up getting annihilated by training. Veridia hadn't been too surprised at the elaborate technology when she'd been thrown in a training simulator with her new team- her mother's version of bedtime stories was telling her children the good old days at Miss Evelyn's, when she was adored because of her heroic exploits, with no small amount of bitterness in her voice.

Veridia, however, still had no fucking idea what about the academy appealed to her mother so much, but each to their own, she supposed.

Veridia kicked out with her foot at the tiger's torso, her foot hitting the solid metal. Focusing, she felt power hum beneath her skin, colliding with her muscles and the bones beneath. She was aware of the most minute of details: the flow of the air around her, the whirring ventilation systems above, the panting breaths of her teammates. She mentally cheered in relief. "Thank god, a power that's actually useful." She muttered as she squinted her eyes and pushed with all of her might.

The air around her foot heeded her call, rushing at the tiger. The tiger was pushed back- not by a lot, much to Veridia's chagrin, but enough to feel slightly more comfortable movement wise. Using the air to push herself up, Veridia launched herself backwards into the air. Settling back down on the ground, this time a far more healthy distance from the tiger, Veridia examined her surroundings.

Up in the air, Lissa, otherwise known as Elytra-whose codename, Veridia thought, probably wasn't a Minecraft reference- was firing arrows down at the tiger, who had now focused on her. There was a structure that was a weird mix between a forcefield and a bunker in the middle of the room, headed by Vitus and his nonchalant sister Persephoni- which was a cute little Greek mythology reference- who was....wait, was she using her phone? Veridia squinted at the glowing phone in the girls hand. Was that her social media page? Was she taking like, an impromptu selfie or something? Like, "OMG Guys, first day at Miss Evelyn's and we're fighting a murderous robotic tiger!".

"Veridia, I hate to point out the obvious", sounded a voice near her ear as Peachy, her pink mascot, materialized next to her, "but I fear you have far more important things to worry about-like the vERY VIOLENT TIGER THAT'S GUNNING STRAIGHT AT YOU!" Peachy's voice rose to a squeal as the Saber tooth re-focused it's attention on Veridia, it's tail flicking menacingly. For a second, it resembled a metallic, overgrown cat before charging at her.

Veridia swung her head to face the tiger fast enough that curious onlookers might have feared that her neck had snapped and ducked underneath the tiger as it launched itself at her. It...wasn't the smartest move, but it somehow worked, with Veridia sliding on the floor to face the tiger's back. Jumping up to her feet, she winced and rubbed her side. It hurt from the violent way she had slammed herself on the floor, and was most definitely bruised.

Gritting her teeth, Veridia dodged the tiger's assaults', exhaustion pummeling through her body. Summoning a small air cyclone, she rose up above the ground as the tiger's tail shot straight up at her. She dropped down to the ground and swung her sword, air congealing around the hilt as she directed it at the tiger's head...but then she tripped on her skirt's edge- because for some reason her magical girl outfit was long and not incredibly useful for magical girl work- and her control slipped. The once powerful air turned into a light summer's breeze, brushing against the tiger. Veridia blanched, attempting to focus once more, calling on the air, but it was no use. Her time for Song of Nature was up.

"Shit", Veridia muttered softly. Her throat felt dry and her eyes scratchy as she backed up. The tiger growled at her as it crouched down, bared teeth glittering dangerously. Behind her, her teammates were...what were they doing? Veridia wanted to peek behind her shoulder to catch a glimpse of them, but the tiger was currently very angry- if AI's could even get angry- and began to circle her, apex predator style. "Maybe I could...talk to it? Is it alive? Does being a robot count as being alive-" Veridia rambled as she raised up her sword, which had become very shaky.

"Veridia," Peachy said, voice somewhat hysterical and out of breath, "stop talking and start running."

Veridia nodded at her hyperventilating familiar- who was acting in a manner very unsuitable for a centuries old arcane god- and hiked up her skirts.
" Yup, that's a very-very good plan Peachy, I should probably get to doing that- oH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT-" Veridia yelped as the tiger pounced once more at her.

With hot shame unfurling in her belly, skirts balled up in her hand, and an arcane god currently screeching in her ear, Veridia turned and did what she did best- she ran.

Vitus Dual
Codename: The Blessed One
Type: Defender
The chaos unraveling around the group wasn't really a surprise to Vitus, especially because this group of rag tag Magical Girls and Boys never really had to face such intense scenarios as a whole team. A few pair ups or even groups of three, but with all of them together, finding that sweet spot on how to combine all their talents for the communities safety was something that will require a lot of practice and experience. Watching his forcefield become reinforced by Lissas chitins was both impressive but also something he needed to get used to. Being able to command insects was quite the sight to behold and something that Vitus knew to be very powerful which did to some extent cause a bit of jealously to bubble up within him . . . but he was also relieved that he didn't have to deal with insects in his day to day life as his gift. Grinning back at Lissa, V cheered "What a wonderful idea, I like your thinking," adding a wink to show his admiration.

With the forcefield supported by the sheets of chitin, Vitus no longer had to focus his energy on keeping his shield on its most durable capacity and focused his attention to the mechanic sabertooth whose attention was now taken by Veridia. Even though her tenacity was impressive, Veridia alone wouldn't be able to fend of this beast. Turning to his sister, Vitus began to scold "You know, the title Lady Death would make most people believe you to be capable of bringing down all kinds of enemies. You need to get your head screwed on straight and help us out." Persephonis response was a slight scowl but her eyes showed the fear of the unknown that tainted her powers. Vitus understood her fears but there was no way she would be able to gain control of her powers if she always refused to use them.

"Look, I know your power becomes a burden to you and to those around you but your best way to protect everyone is to start training efficiently so you wont ever have to hurt someone you love again." And with that last statement, Vitus saw from the corner of his eye a fleeing Veridia and a violent A.I. following behind her. Vitus generated a forcefield armor around his body and his two batons were held within his tight grips as he dashed towards Veridia and the monster ready to show of his MMA abilities.

A song resembling a the ringing of a gong erupted as Vitus made contact with the Sabertooth, switching different combinations to both attack and defend himself. Thanks to his armor, the creature wouldn't be so quick to tear him into shreds but V still had to be strategic with how many hits his armor could take. The tiger then sporadically started swinging and overwhelming Vitus when his changed his fighting mode into more of a wrestling strategy and he wrapped his arms around the tiger trying to pin this large machine down.

"Hey, if anyone can step him before this things wiggles his way out of my grip, that would be fantastic!" V shouted to his teammates around him.

Persephoni Dual
Codename: Lady Death
Type: Wild Card

Persephoni was perfectly fine pretending that there wasnt any beast on the loose around them, after all, the school wouldnt hurt their prized students too badly. Plus, there were a bunch of others with much more suitable abilities to take down this thing than her. She could care less about the stares or judgments people were making, she was doing this for their own good after all. Seeing how the group started to slowly combine and use their powers together was a beautiful thing to witness though. Even though she was more focused on her social media pages, she did acknowledge the fight her teammates were putting up. What talented, beautiful things these people could do.

After Vitus called out Persephoni for essentially being useless, she couldn't help but be flooded with both anger and sadness. Anger out of frustration that her brother wasnt accepting her decision to go against her gifts, anger about feeling so useless, anger about the preconception that she could be strong. But sadness because of the fear that she would cause more pain to her teammates than actually help. Sad that maybe they would never be able to understand her aloofness and refusal to aid them in battle. Mentally shaking her head out of those thoughts and emotions, Persephoni yelled after V, "Yea well not everyone can be a beloved Blessed One like you!" and crossed her arms with her head up in triumph, as if her comeback hid her insecurities.

After V left her side, the Death Energy began to be palpable again and her Magical Girl form started to intensify with the glowing tattoos speeding around her body now and her fair hovering as if strings were pulling it. Grabbing locks to cover her pitch black eyes, Persephoni almost seemed to cower away from the others as she was visibly ashamed by her form. "Ugh, why do I have to look so Morbid! Aren't Magical Girls supposed to be all cute and have everyone ogling over them?!" Seph complained in a low tone.

"C'mon Lady Death, why dont you just use me? Let me show them who I really am and what I got!" said her charming little mascot, the Grimm Reaper. He was still in his view friendly form, a cute little draped robe with a cartoonish skull for his head. His little form began to imitate a boxing match like the ones he observed Vitus participate in. Seph simply tried to push him away with her foot, wanting to ignore his presence.
"No, if you get to do what you actually want, who knows what hell will break out. We do not need that right now" Seph hissed towards her small companion whos literal empty eyes stared up at her with sadness. "What you can do to be useful for once is find us a way to escape this stupid training simulation. Now hurry up, lets go," Seph continued as she pushed the little Grimm to find them a way out

Catherine Summers
Codename: Selene
Type: Wild Card

Catherine quietly swore to herself. It was moments like these that made her regret her choice of schooling. Battling a robot sabertooth tiger wasn't exactly the kind of higher education she'd had pictured for herself.

She would probably have felt a bit better if this was something that she could have helped with, but her intial strategy of occasionally slashing at the robot with the sabre that accompanied her magical form had proven to be ineffective almost immidetly. So while her classmates bravely fought the robotic cat, Catherine resorted to do what she did best.

Hiding behind Vitrus' forcefield, she found herself shouting something like "Yeah!" or "Good job!" whenever one of her classmates landed a hit on the sabletoothed robot.

After all, providing moral support wasn't much but it was at least better than doing nothing.

203-2037111_puella-magi-madoka-magica-kaname-madoka-transparent-homura.pngHikari was currently watching from afar and some what fuming at what she was seeing. This whole thing was a big mess and she had just about had it. There was no way in heck she was going to look bad because of these people. She crossed arms as she watched the scene. She had been fighting that robot tiger thing but after awhile realized just something was not working and was now beginning to realize that it was the team effort that wasn't working. "For the love of...." Hikari glared down at Seph and Cat those two were being completely useless. Hikari let it go for now and looked back at the Tiger. She was trying to find a good opening to fire her arrow. If she put enough energy into her arrow she could maybe get it with one good shot. Putting all that energy into one arrow probably wasn't a good idea especially since she wasn't use to it yet. The stronger she got the stronger she could make her attacks. But seeing the, what she consider to be a, disaster happening in front of her she decided this was probably the best call.

"Hey, if anyone can step him before this things wiggles his way out of my grip, that would be fantastic!"

Hikari smiled. "Perfect." There was her opening. She jumped from platform to platform until she was at just the right height and rang to shoot. I got this!" She yelled out to V. As she pulled back the string of the bow she breathed in putting all her energy into that one arrow which made it thicker and flame like. As she did this the rosebud on top of her bow opened and dark pink energy appeared on it like a flame. She was doing all of this as fast as she could before the robotic tiger could tiger loose from V's grip. She aimed at her target then fired. Hikari was pretty good when it came to hitting her targets though this moving target had proven to be quite the challenge but at least with it being held down it shouldn't miss.....right?

Vitus, ever assertive, had taken it upon himself to wrestle down and properly secure the tiger in place. Ever the hero, that one. A real upstanding example to the rest of them.

"Come on, Mel! Don't get distracted now! It's not like you to slack off when everyone's doing their part!"

Both of them glanced over Persephoni and her efforts to escape for a split second.

"Well, almost everyone."

Still...

Lissa took a few moments to run through her options. Unlike some other magical girls, her powers weren't necessarily the type that would allow for a full bombardment of the area. Which was just as well. Vitus, despite his sturdiness, was well in the line of fire, and any kind of flaming blast or icy storm would catch him in it as well. While the parameters of the fight weren't too explicitly defined by Ms. Shannon when she all but threw them in here, it was probably pretty safe to assume that this fight should properly be "to the death". Which meant someone should properly take the initiative to go for a killing blow.

"I've got it." Lissa muttered.

"I get what you're laying down, girlfriend! Let's go for it!"

Lissa took another breath. Lungs and alveoli were so much less efficient than spiracles. Her eyes narrowed, her gaze focusing on the rear end of the tiger. And just like that, a glowing mantis the size of a large dog came into being. Wasting no time, it buried its claws into the hind legs of the tiger, pinning it in place and drawing digital blood as the simulated fiend roared.

"And now, the finishing stroke."

Lissa wheeled around and dove down, the Silent Sting morphing into a slim, ornate spear in her hand. Gripping it tightly, she accelerated and-

-the spear plunged into its midsection.

The tiger reared up in agony, its head presenting a fine opening for anyone to follow up.

Akari Tsukiyama
NekoTana

Powerhouse
Akari was excited to be here today, But Why a sabertooth Robot Tiger, She liked cat but this one was on another level and it this can hurt her, so she was trying hard not to pet this robot because it looked cool and other stuff. She Watched The Chaos Going on around the group and looked surprised, she knows there's some magical girls and boys who was new to this, and not to mention herself, She's still learning on how to be a magical girl and using her powers, but this chaos of a mix-match is a bit Hilarious to see, if she wasn't fighting that is. Suddenly her partner flew next to her."I think you should help them, instead of lollygagging around Neko-san."Aqua said. Akari Had a sheepish expression."My bad! I'm Coming to Help!"She Said. She took her Stance as Her Fist Glows, She punches The Sabertooth Tiger and Then Dropkicks it in The Face, Hoping she knocked it Out.

On what davis was thinking about this day, was the worst day. He's going to complain to the teacher about this, WHY A TIGER? He really doesn't know, but Also Doesn't Care at the Same time But when ."You should Assist them."His Wolf-like fairy partner said. Davis frowned at him."Like what?"He asked. He watched them as it seems they got it covered and it looks like he doesn't have to Do anything."Then why are you here then?"Miriam asked. Davis Sighed."Just to get stronger and I'm telling you They seems to Got it covered."He said. The wolf-like Spirit just Flew away without a word.

Vitus Dual
Codename: The Blessed One
Type: Defender
The tigers strength was impressive and expected but Vitus' training over the years aided by his armor allowed him to keep up for the most part. After his command towards his teammates to get the tiger while it was restrained, progress seemed to start happening. First, Hikari's arrow came flying towards the tiger, flaming a beautiful dark pink, pierced through the tigers shoulder- releasing an echoing roar that made Vitus' ear ring. Squinting in pain, Vitus shouted with praise through a grin with clenching teeth "Great work Honeyrose!"
The tiger seemed to only get more annoyed and aggressive after being punctured by the arrow, trying to bit VItus' head off. To protect himself from being decapitated, Vitus had to release his bear hug from the sabertooth and place his hands on the creatures widened mouth to fend off from a large chomp. Thats when Lissa's glowing mantis pinned down the tigers back legs, causing a gust of air to hit Vitus face. Thank goodness the tiger was artificial and didn't have bad breath. The loud roar in his face intensified when Lissa pierced right through the mid section of the tigers body. That should do it Vitus though as he released his grip on the tigers jaw and leaped away towards a more safe distance. However, the tiger was indeed still alive and trying to put up a fight but thanks to Akari who was more than excited for this fighting simulation compared to most of their classmates came to finish the tiger off with glowing fists of terror! Seeing her knock out the beast, Vitus clapped his hands to show relief that the fight was seemingly over. Looking to his teammates who both helped and cheered them on, Vitus raised two thumbs up in encoruagement.
"Great work everyone! Seems like we have silenced the beast! Although we definitely could use more help in combining our strategies.... it was a great start!" he said with optimism even though it was a little rough out here. Vitus then scanned the area to see where his sister went. Yes, there were a few bystanders who were observing the fight and not actively engaging but at least they weren't running away like Persephoni was.

Persephoni Dual
Codename: Lady Death
Type: Wild Card

As Persephoni tried to escape the group activity, a moderator had stopped her as she came close to the exit. The large man monitoring them had his arms crossed, glaring at the magical girl. Backing up to give the man space and safety away from her death energy, Persephoni offered a sheepish giggle and glanced to see that the fight looked to be over.
"Oh I wasnt trying to escape" she lied, "I just decided to check out the perimeter to make sure we were all safe!" Looking both ways rather quickly and inefficient in terms of observing for threats, she then added "Looks clear to me!" then scurried back to where the protective wall was, crossing her arms with obvious annoyance that she got caught.

Veridia was busy licking her wounds when the tiger slumped towards the ground, simulated eyes rolling back into it's metallic head. Akari's punch resounded against it's skull, knocking it out cold. Veridia winced, a small pang of sympathy rolling through her heart as the beast lay prone on the ground. Christ, she did not want to get on the wrong side of those fists. Leaning against the wall, Veridia examined the state of her teammates who were still on the field. All in all, they had done a remarkable job putting down the simulation, combining their abilities together to defeat it.

Next to Veridia, Peachy let out a small chuff, materializing back down to the ground. Licking his paws, he eyed the rest of Veridia's crew, from the bystanders observing the action to the lone brooder attempting escape. He set his paw back down and began to pad around Veridia's feet, nose raised as he sniffed the air. "That lack of conviction is surprising coming from a Dual," he muttered, jerking his head towards Persephoni, said brooder who had been caught attempting escape. " You'd think she would at least try to help, no?"

Veridia frowned. "What does her last name have anything to do with this?" Veridia questioned, gesturing over to the training facility. The room was large, paneled on all four walls with white tiling. It was minimalistic, sterile, and, in Veridia's opinion , smelled faintly of cleaning products. It could have easily passed as the background for a horror movie- or a medical drama, now that Veridia thought about it.

Peachy seemed vaguely disappointed as he stopped padding and sat on his hind legs, looking up dismally at Veridia. His tail waved despondently behind him as he shook his head.
" The Dual family Veridia. You know, the lineage of magical twins? " Veridia blinked at Peachy's question before scrunching up her nose. She thought back to the endless lectures both Peachy and her mother had given her throughout the years, attempting to find something that mentioned the Dual's. Finally, her eyes widened in recognition and she snapped her fingers. "Oh, the Dual's! I remember it now!"

Peachy sighed and shook his head. "Sometimes I wonder what you're thinking about in that head of yours..." he muttered. Turning back towards the rest of the team, Peachy inclined his head. "You should go talk to the rest of your teammates. It's a good way to foster ties with your teammates!"

Veridia snorted. "Funny joke Peachy." Veridia pushed themselves off the wall and turned to the exit. The battle was over, and the beast was dead- or as dead as an AI could be. Veridia yearned for nothing more than to fall into the soft embrace of their bed and sleep until the next day. Didn't matter that it was only the afternoon- Veridia's body felt about ready to shut down. She turned to shout a farewell to the team before Peachy pulled urgently on their skirt. They looked down and yanked their skirt out. "What?" They frowned at the glowering cat.

"I already had to deal with your teen angst the first time. I'm not doing it again." Peachy answered to a gaping Veridia. Sighing, he softened his tone. "Look. I know you don't want to be here. You've been telling me that ever since we first met, and judging from the looks of it, a large portion of your team shares the sentiment. But you're stuck here until further notice, so you might as well snap out of this funk you've been in for the past week and go back to the Veridia we all know and adore- or alternatively, the one we all know and detest."

Veridia glared at the god, giving him what they deemed The Stare. They always used to whip it out on their siblings when they'd done something stupid and didn't want to own up to it. Unfortunately, Peachy was more than a little desensitized to it from their years with Veridia, and responded with one of his own.

Veridia cracked first. Groaning, they turned back towards the group and ran their tongue along the inside of their mouth. God, they had to be social. This was going to be death of them. "I hate you." They grumbled to Peachy. The cat snorted, disappearing into the air. "Love you too. Good luck, make good choices, and don't stay up too late you crazy kid!"

Veridia snorted at that last bit and walked towards the group. Throwing their sword into the air, it dematerialized into a small hair pin that lay across the center of their palm. Placing it in their hair, they clapped their hands together and smiled at the group. "Great job everyone! Lissa, Vitus, Hikari, Akari- great teamwork out there! Much more effective than what I did. Everyone else did fantastic as well!" Veridia exclaimed, a bit too forcefully, pumping a fist up in the air. They widened their grin, hoping it didn't come off as a grimace.

Adrian Thane
Codename: Phantasm
Type: Wild Card
Music Box: None

Adrian watched from behind Vitus' shield as the battle unfolded. Before he knew it, the whole thing was over and the robot was defeated. On one hand, he was glad it was over and he'd barely had to do anything. On the other hand, he felt inexplicably annoyed that he hadn't been able to help more.

"Simulation ended." Said a robotic voice over the loudspeaker. "Please report to briefing room for debriefing."

Adrian sighed. This was going to be fun.

With that, Elytra's fluttering wings retracted as she gracefully alighted on the scuffed, dusty ground that was torn up by the tiger's thrashing and their combined efforts. Maybe one day they'd pull off a victory that didn't need magic to clean up. In a flash, the fancy dress and the spear vanished, leaving Lissa to shake out her hair as the rigid, ferocious stinger turned back into (relatively) smooth strands.

"Well done, Vitus." Well, but not excellent. Lissa gave the sturdy man a nod. "You never disappoint. We should work on combining our barriers to cover a wider area in the future."

On the other hand, Honey had her own comments as she fluttered over to Veridia. "Oh, Sparkly. That moral support is just what we needed!" The tiny fairy imitated her fist pumping motion. "That 'tactical retreat' was pretty heroic, too! I feel positively galva- galv- encouraged!"

"Nothing tactical about that." Lissa buzzed, passing Veridia in turn. "My advice...improve your footwork if you are unable to fly. Maybe one day you'll have compound eyes, but until then, I believe showing your back to an enemy is...unsound."

With her magical power dismissed, Lissa felt much like a freshly-molted beetle. Stretching her arms and taking big steps, she made her way to the briefing room, where she imagined Ms. Shannon would have her fair share of words for each of them. That woman seemed to have her balance set a little too much to "ego" instead of "pragmatism".

"By unsound, do you mean like, standing underneath a collapsing building unsound or jumping into a shark tank unsound?" inquired Veridia. "Because like, I've done both and they're very different degrees of dangerous- andddd she's gone." Veridia frowned as Lissa glided past her to the briefing room, her mascot trailing behind her. "And the name's Sparkler!"

Well, on the bright side, that didn't go terribly.
Veridia reasoned as she turned back to the rest of her teammates. At the very least, it hadn't ended with a screaming match on the front lawn like the first week they had been there. Maybe Peachy was right- with a bit of effort, Veridia might have a nice time here. Veridia smiled at them, this time looking decidedly less constipated, and motioned to the exit. "Ready for debriefing?" Veridia started as they walked backwards out of the room. They flicked two finger guns at their surrounding teammates. "Y'all did great out there! I'm pretty sure Ms. Shannon couldn't find anything wrong with your attack even if she tried." Ok, that may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but hey, it was always good to be optimistic, right?

Shanon frowned as Squad 7 entered the room. For most people, a frown such as this would be a good indicator of what the person was thinking. For Shanon, this type of frown could mean any number of things. She could be disappointed. She could be critical. Or she could just be frowning. She did that a lot.

Once the whole of the Squad had entered she began pacing with her arms behind her back. Then, she stopped and turned to face them.

"You four," She began, pointing at Vitus, Lissa, Hikari, and Akari. "Did very well. Your teamwork was actually rather impressive. There's room for improvement but that's true for everyone, even trained professionals." Despite her praise, the frown still hadn't left her face. She pointed at Veridia. "You made an attempt at least. I respect that and recognize that your power is on a time limit but I'm still going to have to give you half marks." She then pointed at Adrian, Persephoni, Catherine, and Davis. "Now as for you four... you did nothing. I'd like an explanation, and I better not hear excuses." She crossed her arms and her frown deepened.

Vitus Dual
Codename: The Blessed One
Type: Defender
To hear the praises from team members to the group, one would think the thought of it would lift the spirits of the group but the air held the awkward tension that sprouted from the groups inability to function together. Vitus nodded towards the positive reinforcements he received from Lissa and quickly added "I believe our skill sets will be the best support for our team" and then followed the group towards the doom better known as Gun Bunny. Vitus enjoys reflective seminars and to discuss ways to improve so usually he looked forward to such things... but usually, whatever he participated in he did not work so ineffectively.

Hearing Major single out him and the few others who were proactive in stopping the mechanic sabertooth was reassuring but her frown kept him quiet and feel like a failure. Vitus peaked over at his sister as well as the others who were being interrogated by Bunny, knowing that Seph did not handle a hierarchy well at all.

Persephoni Dual
Codename: Lady Death
Type: Wild Card

Persephoni returned to the group with visible annoyance on her face. No way was she going to give anyone a compliment, especially her brother. They were all a mess and needed a lot of work but Seph did not want to be a part of that, for the sake of their safety. With crossed arms and pursed lips, Persephoni avoided eye contact with anyone because she was in no mood for confrontation yet confrontation was about to be received from their higher ups. Seeing the frown on Shanons face was telling on how this meeting was going to go.

Of course her brother, Lissa, Hikari and Akari were going to get praised but even then they were a mess together. When the scornful eyes came upon to Seph and the others who reacted similarly to her, Persephonis eyes went into immediate glaring mode. The demand for an explanation with "no excuses" was ridiculous, there were so many factors of disaster if all of them just unleashed all they had with no repercussions.

Already fuming, Seph said with heavy attitude in her voice "Excuses? You do understand I could have killed everyone one of us in there and that machine would still be alive right? It would have been on my hands and then what excuse would you accept?" ending her response with an eyeroll. The duals had a very prestigous reputation at this Academy and Persephoni was on the road to tear down all of that hard work. She could feel her brothers eyes burning right through her.

Shanon's frown deepened. Again. She made a conscious effort to avoid rolling her eyes at the insolent magical girl. Admittedly, she had a point but that wasn't an excuse for her inaction.

"A Magical Girl is more than her powers." Shanon said evenly. She was aware it sounded like a lesson from a kids cartoon which was why it was absurd she had to be teaching it to a legal adult. "Just because you can't use your powers does not mean you should just sit there and do nothing." She placed her hands on her hips. "On the battlefield, everyone needs to pull their weight. Lives depend on it." She used her eyes to bore holes into Persephoni.
