Futuristic Mental Apocalypse

Amy was slightly confused. What's wrong with Isaac?!

She closed her eyes slowly as a web of electricity shot up, zapping Maddy. Oops. And ow.

Madi yelped as Amy practically shot lightning at her and rubbed her arm ruefully. She had noticed her confused her confused expression though. "Isaac may or may not have been shot and stabbed in the eye... But he's okay, don't worry about him. Mido's already fixed up the bullet wound and he's starting on his eye."

Amy still looked worried, and her muscles strained, and she managed to raise her head. She watched Isaac, her eyes full of concern.

"Hey hey, quit that," Madi said, gently pushing her back down. "It's good that you're getting motion back but take it easy. Your body is still heavily under the drug they gave you."

Oak paced, swinging his pipe in a circular motion. Finally, the scientist blinked and seemed to look at Oak coherently. Oak knelt down and smiled wide.

"Hi, Mr. Scientist person... Rogers. Your names is Dr. Rogers. Well. Nice to meet you, Dr. Rogers."

"Did you... tie me up? And you... you hit me."

"I had to knock you out. It was for the best."

"Right," Rogers grinned, "Of course. Glad you did that."

Oak leaned back suspiciously. Rogers must have set up a trap. "...what are you smiling about?"

"Nothing," Rogers cooed, "Just... Is this your first time taking someone hostage?"

Oak, officially creeped out, realized what was happening. There was a very different kind of trap happening.

"Uh oh."

"If you need me to walk you through the process, I'd be... glad to. But you'd still be the one in control."

Oak grimaced and stepped back quite a bit. "You have Stockholm's Syndrome. Is that even a permanent disorder? And I didn't realize that would be strong enough to survive the Psycho thing..."

"You're strong enough for me."

"STOP FLIRTING WITH ME"

Amy got pushed back down and didn't have the strength to resist.

She looked at Maddy, suddenly wondering if she had found her sample.

Out of the corner of eye, she saw the big man, Zach, sneak in and started to walk up to Maddy. He wa rapidly approaching, and Amy didn't know how to warn Maddy.

Amy looked fearfully behind Maddy, desperately tryin to get her attention.

Madi cocked her head in confusion upon seeing Amy staring over her shoulder in petrified horror. Madi began to turn her head, only for a large hand to grip her hair and pull her up to her feet. Madi yelled in pain, lashing out. He caught her wrists in a tight grip and threw her against the wall. Madi's already bruised head hit the wall hard and she crumpled, falling into a heap. The man, Zach, grabbed her and tossed her over his shoulder, quickly leaving towards the door.

Oak turned as he heard Maddy crying out in pain. He saw the man - the same man who had taken Amy - holding Maddy by the hair. Maddy was tossed into a wall and the man threw her over his shoulder.

"Not again," Oak growled.

"What do you mean again?" Rogers exclaimed, "Have you kidnapped people before? Do you still want to kidnap them?"

"No, just- no. Stop," Oak whined. "I'm not- just... stop."

Oak gripped his metal pipe and knife. "You know," he mumbled, "I'm kinda getting used to using a pipe."

"I'd like to use your pipe."

"OMIGOD THEY'RE NOT EVEN THAT GOOD"

Despite his disgust, Oak forced himself to turn around and figure out how to save Maddy, only to find that the man had noticed him. The man was now running for the door.

"Shouldn't have shouted."

Oak gave chase to the man, Rogers calling after him, "Don't go away! I'm quite a screamer! I'm screaming for help right now, and I'll get away unless you..."

Oak lunged at the giant man and aimed his pipe at the unoccupied shoulder, readying his knife to go for the stab into the spine. He decided to question his morals later.

Madi was swimming in and out of consciousness, the back of the man carrying her coming in and out of focus. When she finally managed to come back to reality, Madi realized what was going on. Madi looked around. Where the...? Is that... Oh hey, it's Oak... What's he doing with that sharp stuff...? Oh yeah... Oh, wait.. S***. S*** s*** s***

Madi cringed as the man whipped around as Oak got close. He dropped Madi quite aggressively and went for Oak. She caught herself on her good arm, cringing as bad one was jostled quite painfully. Pushing herself up, she watched Oak take on Zach.

The man suddenly turned and dropped Maddy (perhaps "threw down" is more accurate) and grabbed both of Oak's wrists. Oak grimaced in pain as the man slowly squeezed, crushing them, and forcing Oak to drop his weapons. Oak tried to kick at the man's chest, but the man seemed impervious to pain.

"Dammit," Oak mumbled, "It's because I forgot to say a one-liner."

The man threw Oak against a pillar. Oak screamed in pain. Hollywood Lie #9: Being thrown against a wall basically means you lost. The man grabbed Oak's knife, and in one ursine movement, was about to stab Oak. When he brought the hand down, Oak managed to barely catch his wrist and resist being stabbed. Hey, what do you know. A Hollywood Truth. You can fend off a stabber by holding on really tight to their forearms. Which brings us to Hollywood Lie #10: You will be too tired to do much else. It was only a matter of time before Oak got too tired and the knife made its mark.

I'm gonna write so many one-liners after this...

"Come on, sweetie, you have to live!" Rogers shouted from a distance. "Who's going to hold me hostage if you die?!?"

For a moment, Oak and the bear-man both stopped struggling and they squinted at Rogers.

"Didn't know you got a boyfriend," the man rumbled.

"He's not my- Whoa, your voice is deep."

A sudden pressure suddenly brought the blade much closer to Oak's chest as the short-lived distraction faded. Panicking, Oak tried to use his legs to hold the arm off. The obnoxiously large man pressed down even harder. Times like this, Oak wondered what the attacker's other hand would do- Oh. Gotcha. Strangling. Smart attacker.

Losing oxygen and consciousness, Oak felt very lonely as he slowly lost his grip on the man's arm.

Amy watched with wide eyes at the scene unfolding in front of her. Maddy looked like she was struggling to stay conscious, and Oak was getting the heck beaten out of him by Zach.

Amy shakily raised an arm, and then slowly got up. Yeeeeees I can move!

She ran as fast as she could to the gay scientist, and grabbed the remote out of his loose pocket. She had an idea, but wasn't completely sure it would work... But she had to try.

She eyed the big red button in the middle of the remote, and pushed it, thinking this will probably hurt...

Ooooh yeah. That hurt.

She pressed the button, and both her and Zach collapsed on the ground, Zach clutching his arm, and Amy clutching her head.

Amy shouted through her raging headache at Oak. "Get him!"

Madi thought quickly. No weapons, no strength, both Amy and Oak are down, god f***ing d***it, why must everything resort to this?!

Madi lunged from her knees and latched onto Zach's back. He growled and grabbed her arm hard enough for her to cringe. Oh that's going to bruise.

Madi yelped as he flipped her off his back and twisted her arm behind her back. She grinned, that didn't even hurt. F*** yeah, hyperextension!

Madi swung her leg back and her heel met Zach's groin. He groaned in pain and let go of her. She whipped around and kicked him in the same spot again, harder. He fell to her knees. Perfect height! Madi spun a circle and roundhouse kicked him in the jaw. His head whipped to the side and a loud crack echoed through the hall as the man collapsed.

Madi caught her breath. God I'm tired... Wooooo, dizzy... I'm gonna sit down now...

Oak gasped for air. Hollywood Lie #11, being choked is painful and will leave you unable to do much afterwards. Thankfully, that man had suddenly let go and was now roaring in pain, clutching his arm. Amy was just screaming in pain, "Get him!"

"Oh, I'm gonna get him, alright."

Oak managed to pull himself up after a few seconds of choking on his own breath. He grasped his trusty pipe and watched as Maddy went into action. She was giving the man one hell of a beating, jumping on his back and then doing a bunch of fancy kicks. Oak couldn't really see, oxygen deprivation really does something to your vision. Maddy suddenly just plopped onto the floor, looking slightly confused. My turn.

Oak approached them and slammed his pipe into the man's arm.

"That's for hurting Amy!" Oak slammed the pipe into the man's other arm. "That's for hurting Maddy!" He whammed the leg. "That's for hurting me!" Oak gave the pipe a spin, and accidentally dropped it. (Hollywood Lie #12: It's hard to spin a stick with one hand without enough practice.) The man was too busy groaning in pain. Oak smiled, picked up the pipe, and shrugged.

"And this one's just for fun."

Oak whacked the man's stomach like a golf ball. The man gave one final groan, before somehow snoring into unconsciousness. It was a wonder how that man was able to survive such a beating. But hey, Oak had one more moment of bad-*ssery.

"It's all in the one-liner," Oak muttered to himself, helping Maddy get to the surgery table again. Then he ran to Amy and checked on her.

"How the hell did you do that?" Oak demanded.

Amy who was curled up, whimpering in pain, held the remote up, grimacing. "I had to."

Madi laid face down on the table, her head pounding. God did her brain hurt.

"I am concussed," She stated to herself. Now that her adrenaline was gone, reality came crashing down on her. She and Isaac had killed an entire 12-story-building's worth of people, Isaac was most likely going to die unless they got lucky and she had been...

With nothing to distract her from the truth, Madi pulled her legs to her chest and felt the tears welling in her eyes. She could feel the hand print of bruises he had left around her neck and it was a grim reminder that Locke her.

With no warning, she was wracked with sobs.

Oak observed the remote, feeling it in his palm, when suddenly the consequences of the brawl hit him hard. He collapsed, head ringing, throat being pinched by some invisible hand, and right arm burning so cold that Oak wondered how he ever used it. He tossed the remote to his left hand and examined it. Three switches. Oak pressed the first one, bringing an instant reaction to Amy and the man Oak had just pummeled. Oak apologized profusely.

"Holy crap, I didn't realize what it did! I'm so, so sorry-"

In the distance, Maddy started sobbing. Amy was practically going into seizures and Dr. Stockholm Syndrome (Roberts or Reagan or something) kept winking at Oak. Oak collapsed and leaned on a pillar and started crying himself.

Oak missed his parents. He missed how they called him Oliver, because Oak is a tree, and their son wasn't going to be called a tree, tell him, Sean. He missed how homework was the biggest issue, and a paper-cut was a good reason to get a Bandaid, and how those twelve Hollywood Lies were just stories that someone ruined with the truth. He missed how his parents would care for him, even when he refused to decide what he wanted for dinner, even when he wanted his father to help him through all of his studying, even when he asked every single time whether or not he was using the right fork and table while setting the table.

Oak missed home so much.

Amy shrieked, and felt her limbs starting to spasm out and burn.

Not to mention the headache.

As it kept going, Amy screamed at Oak "PRESS THE DAMN BUTTON AGAIN!!"

She closed her eyes and curled up tighter, managing to minimize the spasming of her arms and legs. Instead she just trembled and waited for it to stop.

Oak scrambled to his feet, weeping still. He incoherently pawed over the remote, finally managing to smack the first button that he pressed first. Unfortunately, he missed, and hit the second button.

Amy looked ready to die, so Oak hit both buttons and threw the remote away as if it was toxic.

"I'm so sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry..."

Oak started weeping again. How many people had he killed?

Don't think about it, don't think about it, don't think about it- And plus, you have an excuse, it's the end of the world, and you gotta do what you gotta do.

But then what makes you different from the Psychos?

But you are a psycho. You and everyone else here is insane. You ready to hear that, Oliver?

Oak thought he heard something inside him, something intangible, break a little.

(Oh gawd I'm gonna die)

Amy shrieked, lunged at Oak and tore the damn remote out of his hands.

Struggling to stay on her feet, Amy smashed the remote ino her knee, breaking it in half. Immediately, the pain went away, and Amy swayed, tripping over Dr. Flaminggay, and landing on her side.

Whooooooooooooooooaaaa woozy.

Lee

The electronic bell ringed as the elevator doors rumbled open. Lee walked through the doors and widened her eyes. There was blood everywhere. The corpses of some ungodly slaughter were strewn on the floor, their innards reaching out for help. Lee swallowed hard and squeezed her knife until her nails dug into her palm.

She poked her head past a heavy metal door that was wrapped with some wires. She cleared her throat.

"Hello?"

---------------

Oak

Oak knew that voice. Hang on, hang on... Oak stopped crying and wiped his tears awkwardly. Amy had smashed the remote, Oak finally noticed. No, you're trying to figure out who the voice belongs to.... Is that Lee?

Oak stood up and looked at the door, where the voice had come from. Sure enough, Lee was standing there, poking her head through, and her hands shaking as she pointed her Swiss knife at the room. Oak whooped.

"Lee! It's you! You're alright!"

Oak managed to walk over and wave. "It's me! Oak! Recognize me?"

Oak knew about her problem. Of course Lee had survived! This made a lot of sense, actually.

---------------

Lee

As soon as the human spoke, Lee recognized the voice. It was Oak. Her old friend.

"Yes, Oak, I recognize you. Good to hear your voice. What's going on?"

Oak waved his hand cheerfully. "Quite a bit, actually. The world ended, only the people with a psychological disorder avoided zombification. We call them Psychos, by the way. So anyway, then a bunch of weirdos kidnapped one of us and we went on a rescue mission and nearly everyone died."

Lee raised an eyebrow. "May I ask... Who is 'we'?"

"Oh, yeah. Everyone! I know most of you are dying, and we'll introduce Isaac later, but anyway! This.. is Lee! She's a good friend of mine."

Lee looked around. The sad little group of humans were all in the middle of dying. She bent over to one of them (Natalie) and gave her some Tylenol.

"That should help," Lee said as she approached another one tied up to a pole. Oak stopped her.

"NO! No, we're.. we're leaving that one. Just... leave him." Oak paused. "What else you got in that backpack?"

"A lot," Lee replied, "I'm sure I have something that the group needs."

Vicky was walking around aimlessly. Twiddling with her thumbs and thinking of all the lives that has been taken by the green people. She was very deep in thought. She thought of her father, her mother, and all the other psychotic patients who might not have made it out of the asylum alive. Vicky stumbled onto something; it made a very loud crack noise when she stepped on it. She looked down to see what it was. It was a reflection, not her reflection. A reflection. She picked up the piece of glass. She saw a green person looking straight at her, but that wasn't her. Was it? I've turned green... she finally realized. She observed the glass carefully; it looked sharp enough. She has to kill herself before she begins to eat other people. She began to shed tears. "I'm green..." she cried softly to herself, "I'm green." Without hesitation, she slit her wrists and sat down against the wall. "They're safe now..." she mumbled under her last breath.

"Nonononono. Keep it away from him Oak. The wrong blood and we can just say goodbye Isaac. He will be like a boiled egg. Blood is not a miracle cure you know." Mido scoffed at Oak, and worked harder than ever. He had to save Isaac. He cleaned and he cut and put together. He had prepared for the final part of the operation, when he noticed something vital. Where was the pulse? "SHIT. ISAAC DON'T YOU DO THIS TO ME!" Mido screamed, trying to find the one thing that could keep him alive, the heartbeat. But there was nothing. The heart had simply given up with nowhere near enough blood. Mido started screaming, and beat down on Isaacs chest, trying to do CPR, but it was no use. He let beat after beat after beat fall down right on the plexus, but Isaac did not move. Mido slowed down as he realized that, Isaac had already passed, and he broke down. Why? WHY? WHY COULD HE NOT SAVE HIM? (Well, we all know why...) He cried over the the body of the late Isaac, why could he not save his patient. In tears Mido looked up and whimpered "I am sorry. I could not save him, i-i-I tried everything but, it was of no use. He had already lost to much blood when i started working. I am sorry. I am sorry." Mido started repeating the phrase "I am sorry" Over and over under his breath. The loss of a patient was hard on him, and the fact that this man had saved his life, did not help in any sort of way.

(Yeah this is going to be a single reply since i am off in a second. My internet just went off before i could post this yesterday. May Issac RIP ;_ ;)

[QUOTE="Cuddly Kraken]

Madi's ears instantly picked up the sound of an alarm and she swore, loudly.

"Isaac!" She groaned in annoyance. She threw the clothes at Oak. "Find Amy. I'll find Isaac and hopefully I can smack some sense into him before he's shot."

Madi quickly took off up the stairs and slammed open the door to the 12th floor, as that was where the alarm was loudest. Madi saw Isaac covered in blood splatters, wielding his hooked swords. She also saw back up arrive, and not for them. Madi ran over to Isaac and rolled her eyes.

"Whatever you did, you're an idiot. Cute blood splatters by the way, it really brings out your eyes," Madi drawled sarcastically, raising her gun. She spotted two dead bodies on the ground. Madi smirked sadistically ... Maybe she should be in jail...

She grabbed the brass knuckles off one of the dead men and slipped them on.

"After you, Isaac."

For a moment as Mido left Isaac side to get some medical equipment. Isaac woke up. *:.. I feel numb.. What is going on?* Isaac slowly turned and fell of the table/bed he was placed on. *That would hurt.. But..* Isaac looked around. His body felt weird.. Empty.. It didn't feel good.. Suddenly Isaac saw Madi, crying.. Was she having another anexity attack.. Isaac staggered up into a sitting position. *Why does it feel so bad? Something.. Isn't right..* Isaac shakingly crawled over to Madi *Madi... Why are you crying? What happened? Why is everyone distressed? Why do I feel so.. Cold?* With great effort Isaac had settled himself besides Madi. Holding her in his fawn. *Madi, I know it's hard to understand a mute person.. Especially me because I also have CIP... People cannot see my emotions.. But.. You've hold on.. Everyone has.. I wish I could... Say things.. Tell my about my life... Have a real conversation..*

Isaac did again what he could do best to calm Madi.. Whistling... His mind spiralling around in thoughts. *Natalie.. The first person I've met.. Interesting girl.. To think she had multiple personalities?.. Wonder if they will remember me?*

Isaacs legs was cold.. His whistling still strong but slowly.. *Mido.. Great guy.. He is helpful.. Although a bit off at times he truly saved your life.. Mine.. Heh.. Although he could lighten up a bit..* Isaacs breath became irregular.. He still kept on as if something he just needed to finish..*Vicky.. I truly never got much to know her.. She was interesting.. Maybe one day she'll find peace.... And Oak.. Dammit Oak.. He was fool.. Stupid and probably hit the wall as a baby.. But dammit.. He could make us laugh and smile.. He really were the tape that held us together?..*

Isaac slowly reached his open satchel and wrote on it.. Tears..Hitting it a few times. *Maddy... I don't know.. It just hit me.. I will never be able to say anything to you... You were truly a diamond in the rough.. I feel drained.. I might not be able to tell you anything anymore.. Treasure the others.. They are good enough.. ..It's not your fault.. That man ...It's not your fault..*

Isaac hand stopped writing his other went limb.. His whistling... Slowly...Slowly... Faded.. To a stop.. A final breath... Isaac closed his eyes.. The last of his tears hitting the cold floor.. Echoing. His numb body slowly leaned back against the wall... Unmoving...

His last note.. With what strength he had pushed it just a bit to Madi..

Isaac with a smile had breathed his last breath..

Madi felt a stab of shock as she heard a body hit the floor. She looked up slowly in time to be pulled into someone's arms. She panicked. Who the hell is touching me?! Get off! What are you-

Madi realized after a sharp intake of breath through her nose that she knew this person. His smell... Isaac? What the hell was he doing off the bed? Did he fall off? Why is he here hugging me? What's going on?

She registered that he was whistling. Madi felt herself calming down on her own accord. He didn't even know what had happened and he was comforting her. Madi snuggled closer to him. I hardly know him, why do I trust him so much? Why... why do I care so much? Despite all of this bulls*** I feel... happy, with him.

Maddy felt him shift and heard the distinct sound of writing. What was he writing now? His expression looked so sad. So... lonely and lost. So deep in thought. Even with his gory eye and injuries, he still looked handsome to her. Not that she ever really cared about appearances. But still, it made her lip quirk. Not many can pull off the pirate look... Oh I'm totally saying that to him later.

Madi began realizing something was very wrong when he began crying as he wrote quickly, still whistling. His hands shook.

"Isaac..." She began slowly. He finished his last sentence and smiled at her, his whistling slowly coming to a stop. Madi heard a quiet breath leave him before his chest stopped rising. Before his eye grew distant. Before she heard her heart break in her chest.

"Isaac?" She asked, her voice shaking. She reached up and touched his cheek. "Isaac. Come on, this isn't funny."

She grabbed his note and read it. With every line, her heart was crushed more and more until she couldn't read from the blurriness of her wet eyes. She held his face.

"Isaac!" She pleaded. Maddy sobbed and held his limp form to her, unable to stop the river of tears streaming from her eyes. "I don't want a maybe, Isaac! I want you, I want you to come back, I want to be a 'thing'. I don't want to loose you. I've already lost so much to this plague, not you too. Please, not you too! I promised to stay with you. Don't you remember that? I promised to stay with you. I promised that it would be okay. I promised that we'd find somewhere safe to wait it out. And I can't keep that promise. And I'm so, so sorry. I shouldn't have left you with that b*stard, I shouldn't have let you take on the entire building like an idiot!

"
Damnit Isaac," She said. She stared at his peaceful smile and quickly pressed her lips to his. "I love you too, please come back..."
