Music memorable song lyrics?

To Hell and Back ~ Sabaton

Crosses grow on Anzio
Where no soldier sleeps
And where hell is six feet deep
That death does wait
There's no debate
So charge and attack
Going to hell and back

Personally I believe that song lyrics that stick out to a person reveal a lot about them. I unfortunately don't listen to much music with lyrics so I can't exactly participate, but it's very interesting to see what stands out to other people.

I'm into some dubstep. Not much but some. If dubstep is what you're talking about.

"Now John at the bar is a friend of mine

He gets me my drinks for free

And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke

But there's someplace that he'd rather be

He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."

As the smile ran away from his face

"Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star

If I could get out of this place"

Billy Joel: Piano Man

The chorus also sticks out to me.

"sing us a song, you're the piano man.

Sing us a song tonight

For we're all in the mood for a melody

And you've got us feeling alright"

In the song Blessing by laura story, it talks about God's mercies being in disguise. It was my mom's favorite song and we listened to it the night after she died. My dad still can't listen to it.

"I'm only a man with a candle to guide me.
I'm taking a stand to escape what's inside me.
A monster, a monster,
I've turned into a monster.
A monster, a monster,
And it keeps getting stronger"

Monster - Imagine Dragons

HELLO KITTY HELLO KITTY
HELLO KITTY YOU'RE SO PRETTY
HELLO KITTY HELLO KITTY
HELLO KITTY YOU'RE SO SILLY

"'Cause sometimes you just feel tired, feel weak
And when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up
But you gotta search within you
And gotta find that inner strength
And just pull that shit out of you
And get that motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face, and collapse
"

Till I Collapse~Eminem

Like what you did there

Sleeptheif - Nightjar

And all that prettiness
Seems so much blossoms on a wild April day
Beautiful but bound for treading under foot

Death Cab for Cutie - Marching Band of Manhattan

Sorrow drips into your heart through a pin hole
Just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound

And a more uplifting song:

Lindsey Stirling - We are Giants

Raise your flag, let your voice be heard
Put your heart into every word you say
All your failures' a cornerstone
Build a house with the things you've thrown away

Feels like you, standing there so small
Just the space between the stars
Don't be afraid to risk it all
'Cause we are we are

We are giants

This is ten percent luck
Twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure
Fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name

Remember the Name~Fort Minor

"Teenagers scare the living shit out of me."
- My Chemical Romance

"He's got fasting black lungs
Made of clove splintered shards"
- The Mars Volta

"Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you."
- Florence + The Machine

Wow. Same story here, but with La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf. My mom used to sing and play it on the piano and it was freaking magical.

Of course I'm scared
Would I be thinking straight if I wasn't?
Of course I'm scared sometimes
Even if I say it don't phase me
Or if I say I'm not hazy
But drowning ain't so bad
'Cause at least you know where you're going
And we're all future bound
So I guess that's really the same thing

But I always liked the thought of maybe being a runaway

Start a Fire (ft. IN-Q) by Stephen

You're not going through it
It's going through you
And once it's all gone
You'll become the new you
With a different perspective from the same point of view
Fully unaffected by the old truth you once knew
Connected at the roots
To the trunk
To the branches
To the leaves and the way they fly away the wind dances
A frantic seesaw free fall in mid-air
That represents the floating folley of us all being here
We are complicated creatures, huh?

It's Quiet Uptown

There are moments when the words don't reach
There's a grace to powerful to name
We push away what we can never understand
We push away the unimaginable

"Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you."
- Florence + The Machine

Definitely one of mine, as well.

Also:
"I feel a million miles away, still you connect me in your way
And you create in me something I would’ve never seen

When I could only see the floor, you made my window a door
So when they say they don’t believe, I hope that they see you in me

After all the lights go down, I’m just the words you are the sound
A strange type of chemistry, how you’ve become a part of me
And when I sit alone at night, your thoughts burn through me like a fire . . ."

Especially 'When I could only see the floor, you made my window a door'. Thousand Foot Krutch, Be Somebody. God.

Also: "The sun fell behind you and never stood up." The National, All Dolled Up in Straps. I love this line, I'm not even sure why because the lyrics are pretty creepy in general, but I truly love it. I'm going to slide it in another form into one of my roleplays somehow, someday.

I'll most likely add more, but I'm stopping there for the moment--
wait, no! TOP!

" . . . You say that you are close, is close the closest star?" Twenty One Pilots, Fake You Out.

So many of my favorite lyrics are from French artists, and I feel like I won't be able to translate them perfectly. Oh, well.

Same tho?? I'm fluent in French but when I tried to translate the lyrics to English, it just didn't work/sound as nice. Maybe because the sentence structure is so different but I always get that feeling of "this isn't right!" And then there's songs like Papaoutai which don't make sense even in French lol.
