  • Uni in Paris is mostly just maneuvering through the horde of people smoking in front of the building to get to class.

Why is smoking so popular there? Is it a cultural thing?

Since arriving in October, I'd say it is. Smoking just isn't a big deal here, people just kind of do it. To the point where when we have breaks during long lectures, profs are like 'You have exactly five minutes to smoke'. And we had discussions about this, actually, and it's not obliviousness. More like habit that turned to addiction and general downplaying of smoking since everyone does it.
My professor confirming the Queen was against Brexit. The room goes silent. He shrugs, “Well, she told me so, anyway". Cue the uproar and hilarity it’s been a *long* morning
. . . All I want is for Shuri, Tony and Peter to be in the same frame and let us bask in the genius, please and thank you.
Back in grade ten my friend and I would link arms and start skipping wherever we happened to be going. Okay, I'm actually going to bed now.
Wrestling with the idea of watching Shadowhunters just for Matthew Daddario.

Cassandra Clare's love triangles are too. much. I don't see why she also wrote one into Infernal Devices. Which might be hypocritical, because I write tons of them myself, but I'm terrible, to begin with, and things just often turn out that way. It's different when you're trying to read an actual book.

Not to mention, one angle of her triangle is always an emotionally broken jerk and the other is always infinitely better in my opinion. Jem Carstairs is actually perfect. Both Will and Jace are not only the same character, they're kind of terrible.

Yup. Jace was just... bad. And the romance between Magnus and Alec... it was agonizing to watch. Alec was all over the place in both first and second seasons. It was like he was jerking Magnus' poor chain the entire time. That, combined with all the other angst going on, was a major turn off in general. I kind of wished I'd stopped watching before the end of season 1.

Fun Fact: In the comics, Wakanda has the cure for cancer but refuses to share it with the outside world.

Wouldn't be the first time a country had the cure for a disease that affects millions and kept it to themselves~

Wakanda's big on secrecy and protectionism, which . . . without getting political, is undoubtedly what preserved its wealth and peace. 'Why on earth would a third-world country have the cure for cancer? Oooh, what else have they got over there? How can we take it for ourselves?' This is actually one of the main themes of Black Panther. Have you watched the movie, @King Crimson? Obviously, I highly recommend it

Useful, if you live in places with snakes. Rattlesnakes especially are apparently notorious for this.
