"You look beautiful."

Hearing the familiar voice of her father, Arianna turned her head until he came into view. Old, chiseled jaw, laugh lines on his face-- the old man's wrinkles told story after story that his mouth would not. Sadly, Arianna hadn't seen him smile-- genuinely smile-- in a long time. Gruff and stoic, she rarely saw him with any expression other than a flat one. It saddened her, but she didn't doubt his love for a single second.

For years now, it'd just been the two of them. Being an only child, there weren't any siblings to worry about, and Ari's mother had gotten sick suddenly and died years ago. Her father had a sister, but they were estranged, so Ari was left to learn the ways of being a woman by herself. She took on a motherly role despite the fact there were no children around; her father needed her. Cooking, cleaning, all along with finishing her schoolwork and chores.

"Thanks, dad." Her voice barely above a whisper, she stood, crossing the short distance from her vanity to her father. Wrapping her arms around him, she hugged him tight, until she felt him gently tap her on the back. Releasing him, she stepped away, hiding the single tear that fell from her eye by turning to gather her shoes. After strapping them on, she wiped the tearstreak away, hoping it hadn't messed up her makeup.

A quick glance in the mirror told her it had not.

"I won't be out late, okay?" Arianna paused in front of Henry, peering evenly into the eyes of the man who raised her.

"Stay out as late as you want." He told her, his words telling her he didn't care, but his voice telling her that he wished she'd have fun and be less uptight. Breaking out into a small grin, Arianna squeezed his hand once before making her way outside to her car. It wasn't anything special, but the cherry-red Toyota got her from point A to point B.

Point B tonight would be the masquerade ball. There were alot of other cars already parked in front of the mansion on the edge of town when she arrived, so she parked on the edge of the lot and shut the car off. It'd be a hike to get to the door in these heels, but she'd manage. Heading in that direction, she studied the mansion before her. It was huge, definitely, but also elegantly beautiful. It appeared to have been built many centuries ago, with the perfect amount of vines and cracked bricks to make it look antique.

Inside, she found that the place was very modern. Electric chandeliers hung from the ceiling, and though she wasn't an art expert by any means, she thought that the paintings on the walls were more modern than traditional. Shifting her gaze towards the dance floor, she decided to avoid it for now, settling on grabbing a glass of champagne first.

Cradling a glass of champagne between his first two fingers, Carter studied the humans down below. He currently stood on a balcony with some of his brothers and sisters, those of them who hadn't decided to go down to the party yet. Most of the family had gone down, though; he could spot them easily in the crowd below, despite their masks.

"Well, this is certainly one way to feed." Carla appeared on his right side, her fire red hair tied back into two plaits and woven in an intricate pattern on the base of her neck. New to the family, she'd been instructed on how to act, though Carter had to admit he was surprised she wasn't down there already.

"Then why are you up here?" Carter questioned, his tone even, almost bored sounding.

She glanced over at him, a slow smile spreading on her features. "I have to pick the best one, of course."

A ghost of a smile appeared on his features; he understood that. He'd felt the same way, once, when he was first turned. Now he still tried to go for the best, but when you were hungry, almost anyone would do. He'd been there, too. Desperation didn't lead to good things, especially from Carter.

Bidding his sister farewell with a tip of his glass, he decided to venture downstairs. His glass emptied, he set it on a nearby table to be collected by waitstaff, turning towards the gathered people.

"Time to enjoy."

Madeleine

It was times like these when Madeleine wished she had a best friend, someone she could count on to tell her she looked hot. Because right now, standing in front of her floor length mirror, she suddenly wasn't so sure about the little baby blue dress she was currently wearing. Was it appropriate for a masquerade ball? She'd never been to one before, so there was simply no telling. Her burst of online research only the night before would have to suffice. At least her little mask was pretty and would do well to conceal her features.

Not that she knew anyone there anyways.

But no matter; if all went well tonight, maybe she would end up making a friend or two. With that in mind, the young woman gathered her coat and purse, then slipped on her heels and ventured out to the waiting cab. If she were to enjoy tonight, it would mean several drinks and there was no way she was driving home after that. Soon enough, the impressive venue came into sight and, as Madeleine walked through its main doors moments later, she was practically breathless. It was huge.

Swallowing nervously, she immediately reached for a flute of champagne as a waiter passed by, convinced she would need it if she were to make it through tonight without horribly embarrassing herself. So, with that thought, she stepped further into the mansion, sipping her alcohol as she did so.

Elliot lingered on the balcony with his remaining family as the party below went into full swing. There were so many guests down there, the majority of them human, and he couldn't quite wait to choose one to feed on. He could feel his hunger growing within, threatening to make it more difficult to refrain from feeding until the time was right. But he would wait. It always paid off to choose the best.

Moments later, his dark eyes landed on Carter, who had just reached the bottom of the grand stairs, clearly ready to get this ball under way. Eager for the same, the tall blonde vampire followed in his brother's footsteps, a sly smirk on his lips as he sidled up to him once at the bottom.

"Seems we have quite the selection to choose from tonight," he commented dryly, his mouth still curved into one of his signature smirks as he glanced at Carter, a brow raised. He wondered who they would go for this evening; it wasn't always easy to choose. But he had a feeling this gathering would make that process rather simple. He could already see several humans he wouldn't mind feeding from.

To say Arianna was out of her element might possibly be an understatement. Or the understatement of the year, if you wanted to go that far. When the invitations for the masquerade had come out, Arianna promptly threw hers away. She wasn't the party type; she had responsibilities. A job, taking care of the household and her father are all high on that list.

But her father had found the invitation, and in not so many words, told her she needed to go. Who was she to deny him? She'd tried, of course, but when the dress she currently wore mysteriously appeared on her bed one day, she knew her fate was set. He'd spent his hard earned money on this dress, and it was beautiful. For one night, sure, she could have some fun.

But how did one do that? A silly question, sure, but a truthful one. Feeling more than a little awkward, she sighed and sipped at her champagne, watching the natural dancers-- and some not so good-- on the dance floor. Side stepping a rather intoxicated female, she bumped into someone and immediately turned towards them to apologize. "Sorry!"

Carter smiled and nodded at people as they looked at him, some eyes lingering longer than others. Though the invites had mainly been for those in the young adult range, he saw that some others had crashed the party as well. Not that it mattered much, some of his family liked them older. Some younger. Just depended on the individual.

Sensing the approach of his brother, he turned slightly as the other vampire headed his way. "Yes, it would appear so." He grinned, flashing his sharp fangs in the other vampires direction. Within seconds, however, the fangs had disappeared and he seemed to be 'normal' again. Glancing at those around them, he spotted two females, both in heels and short dresses that left little to the imagination.

Looking back at Elliot, he nodded in their direction. "Shall we?"

Madeleine was embarrassingly starstruck as she took in the beautiful mansion and the impeccably dressed people. Everywhere she looked had her wide eyed in awe. So much so that she wasn't entirely looking where she was going, at least not in time to side step the woman who suddenly bumped into her. A tiny yelp of surprise left her mouth, though she managed to steady both herself and her glass of champagne before embarrassing herself.

"Oh, it's alright!" She finally managed to murmur, a small smile spread across her face as she took in the blonde woman standing before her. "I wasn't really looking where I was going either," the dark haired woman added, a quiet laugh escaping her.

"It's quite the party, huh?" Madi then commented, raising a brow as her smile widened a little. She took another sip of alcohol, letting the cool liquid soothe her slight anxiety over making friends with people she didn't know. This stranger seemed nice enough, though, and she was eager to hopefully make friends with her if she could. It would be nice to have someone to hang out with this evening, for she didn't want to look like a complete loner when she was supposed to be socializing and having fun.

Elliot's honey coloured eyes flickered over to the two young women Carter had pointed out. He eyed them momentarily before smirking once more and nodding.

"They look perfect," he mused, glancing back at his brother in approval. Then, before either of them could say anything else, he grabbed a flute of champagne and made his way over to the two guests they'd chosen. He was looking forward to this; as hungry as he was and as tempted as he felt to simply drag them off somewhere private and feed, he wanted to make sure he enjoyed this.

"Evening, ladies," Eli greeted as he reached the girls, a charming expression on his face as he eyed them both, a smirk tugging at his lips. It was never very difficult to charm the women they invited to their parties. All it took was a bit of smooth talk and a smirk flashed here and there. Kind of sad, really, but Elliot wasn't about to complain.

Unsure how the girl was going to react after Arianna practically almost knocking her over, she held her breath until the girl smiled, assuring her it was quite alright. Blowing out her breath, Arianna smiled back at her. Apparently, both of them were so awestruck with the large decorative home that neither of them had been paying attention. It made sense, really, considering how beautiful the place was.

"It really is." Arianna agreed with her, glancing around the room. "So many pretty people, too." She didn't get the opportunity to dress up like this very often; who did? She had to admit, though-- it was fun. The champagne made bubbles in her glass and in her stomach, making her feel a little lightheaded but not in a loopy way. She wouldn't be taking off her clothes and dancing on a table, but perhaps she could actually have a good time.

"I'm Arianna." She turned to the other girl. "I have to admit, I almost didn't come tonight. But I think I'm actually glad I did." Finishing off her glass, she set it on an empty tray as a waiter passed by. "You look amazing, too, by the way."

Carter didn't expect Elliot to waste time, and sure enough, he was right. Next thing he knew, his brother had grabbed champagne and headed towards the girls Carter had just pointed out. With a barely noticeable shrug, he followed suite, handing a glass to the girl of his choosing and flashing her an award winning, fangless smile. "It's a beautiful evening, ladies. Care to hang out with two gentleman for the night?"

The girl he'd made eye contact with first smiled and giggled, looking towards her friend as she brushed a stray strand of hair out of her face. The second girl accepted the glass from Elliot and grinned, nodding eagerly. Of course she'd be eager, they all were. Not only did he and Elliot (as well as the rest of the vampire population) exude natural energy and charm, but they were attractive, even with their faces hidden behind masks. It'd be an easy feed, and then they could move on to the next town.

"Wonderful!" Clasping his hands together, Carter moved closer to his girl and unlaced his fingers, placing a hand on the small of her back. She practically melted into him, and his smile only grew as he met Elliot's gaze. "Shall we dance, or go somewhere more... private?"

Madeleine nodded her head in agreement as the woman she'd just met mentioned the people here. "I know. I won't lie, it's kind of intimidating," she confessed with a shy giggle, her gaze flickering back to the stranger next to her. At least they were all wearing masks; that made it a tad bit less intimidating to come to a party alone. But maybe she wouldn't be alone much longer. As the blonde introduced herself as Arianna, Madi felt her smile widen, a blush forming on her cheeks at the compliment.

"Aww, thank you. You look stunning as well," she murmured back, taking a sip of her champagne before continuing. "And I'm Madeleine. It's really nice to meet you." Biting her lip, she let her gaze scan the large room once more before returning to Arianna. "It's probably so rude of me to suggest this, but do you think we would get in trouble if we explored the mansion a little? It's honestly huge and I can't help wanting to see more of it," she confessed with a laugh.

Taking a few more sips of her alcohol, she finished it off, then set the empty flute down on the tray of passing waiter, flashing him a smile as she did so. She turned back to face her new friend after that, relieved beyond belief to have found someone to talk to, and someone who was kind at that.

A pleased smile spread across Elliot's face as the girl before him accepted the champagne he offered. She thanked him and took a grateful sip, to which he simply grinned charmingly. It seemed neither woman had any qualms about spending their evening with Carter and him, which satisfied Eli more than he'd let on.

"Sounds wonderful," the blonde haired vampire spoke, eyes lingering on the mask-covered stranger by his side. Just as his brother placed a hand on the other woman's back, Elliot did the same, his large palm moving to rest against his innocent victim's back. "I say we go somewhere a little more private. Get to know each other better. What do you say, ladies? It really would be lovely to become more familiar with you both..."

Elliot trailed off then, a subtle glimmer in his eyes as he briefly met Carter's gaze. Then he glanced back at the two women, seeing both of them nod eagerly, seemingly unable to help themselves. Perfect. It only served to make the vampires' plans play out even more smoothly. "This way then, beautiful." With a charming smile, Eli led the woman at his side towards a much more private room nearer the back of the mansion, where guests were generally prohibited.

Spotting a light blush appearing on the girls cheeks, Arianna waved off her embarrassment. "Sorry. It really is intimidating, you know? A place like this; who can afford it, really?" At this comment, she glanced up at the large crystal chandelier above them, giving a small shake of her head. "I sure as hell couldn't. And from what I recall, this place was abandoned until fairly recently. So who moved in?"

She'd been told before that curiosity killed the cat, but she never really took the line seriously. Cats had nine lives, after all, and were usually fairly good about not dying despite being curious creatures. "Thank you." Returning her attention to her newfound friend, she couldn't hide the excitement that started to blossom in her eyes at the prospect of exploring.

"Oh, man, you think we could?" Her eyes slid towards a nearby hallway entrance, where people were slowly but steadily entering and exiting. Usually in couples, but sometimes they were alone. Well if they were exploring, why couldn't the two of them? "Yes, definitely. Let's do it." She looped her arm through Madeleine's, and started towards the hallway. "This place is big, though-- hope we don't get lost!"

Carter knew they had the girls in the bag as soon as they'd stepped over, which killed the excitement for him a little. He liked the chase; it was the more fun aspect of what they were and what they did. But after a few decades of the same thing, it started to become monotonous. Biting back a sigh, he walked with his 'date' behind Eli and his, until they reached the back room.

Now, of course, they weren't allowed to just chomp down on their dates in the main area. But to keep traffic flow down in the rest of the mansion, there were only certain areas they were supposed to go. He wasn't sure why Eli chose this particular off limits room, but he wasn't about to complain. Food was food, right? Besides, after Carter entered the room as the last person, he grinned wickedly and quickly shut the light off.

He and Eli would be able to see fine; but the girls? Not so much. "Eli, did you happen to get the name of your date?" He asked tauntingly, playfully, as he toyed with the hair falling but his girls fancy bun. "Because I sure didn't." After feeding, they would simply compel the girls to forget and have a good time at the party, but why not have a little fun in the meantime?

Madeleine was in just as much shock as her new friend. At Arianna's question, she gave a similar shake of her head and giggled, feeling rather bubbly from her champagne. What a lightweight she was to already be feeling the tiniest of effects from it. "I have no idea who moved in. But whoever it is, they're clearly well off. This place is incredible," she commented in response, smirking slightly. In all honesty, though, she was more than curious to find out who exactly had taken this mansion into their hands. But Madi was already quite convinced she likely wouldn't find out. Ah well, at least they could explore, right?

The young woman could tell that Arianna was definitely excited by the mere idea of sneaking off to take a look around and she couldn't deny that she felt much the same. Besides, how often did you get the chance to explore a mansion like this? Hardly ever and she knew it. "Why not? If someone gets upset, we'll just say we got lost looking for the bathroom or something," she giggled, clearly eager to look around.

A delighted smile touched her lips when the other woman looped her arm through her own and tugged her off to explore. She laughed at her comment, but grinned nonetheless. "Who knows, maybe it would be kind of fun to get lost in a big mansion like this," she replied playfully, more than happy to follow along with her friend, a second glass of champagne now in the other hand as they went. "Lead the way, Ari!" It was safe to say Madi was very excited to get their little exploration under way.

Similar thoughts occupied Elliot's mind as they led the girls away. He, too, enjoyed the chase and wished these girls hadn't melted into their hands like putty so quickly, but no matter. He was sure he and Carter would enjoy them all the same. After all, their blood would taste just as wonderful. Still, those who put up a fight were much more fun to work with and never failed to keep things interesting for both vampires.

The blonde vamp wasn't really sure why he'd chosen this room either, but it was the first that had come to mind. Maybe it was because it was easy for him and his brother to lead the girls to, while still remaining off limits and hidden from the general party guests. Either way, it would serve them well for what they were about to do. A wicked smirk touched his lips when Carter shut off the lights a moment later, though he didn't move his hand from his victim's back despite feeling her tense up a little. As Carter's voice filled the now dark room, Elliot chuckled deeply. "As a matter of fact, no, I don't think I quite caught her name," he responded playfully, his hands moving to grasp the girl's waist to tug her closer.

He dipped his head to her neck, momentarily trailing his lips along her skin. He felt her shudder beneath his touch, a tiny whimper escaping her mouth as she began to realize that maybe this wasn't what she and her friend had anticipated. "But that's quite alright, isn't it, Carter? I don't think we need their beautiful names for what we're about to do..." Trailing off, Eli let a wicked grin appear on his face, his eyes flickering towards his brother, whom he could still see perfectly despite the dark. "What do you think, brother?" He questioned tauntingly, enjoying the way they were playing with the woman they'd lured back here.

Like most other, if not all, humans-- Arianna longed for companionship. She wanted friends and lovers; she just normally didn't have the time for them. People didn't understand why she chose to live her life the way she did, and rather than explain it to them, she just cut ties with people and refused to make new ones. Taking care of her father and working full time took up every bit of spare time she had; going out wasn't an option. At least, before tonight, it hadn't been. Honestly, it felt as though she'd stepped through a portal into an alternate dimension. For one night, she could be a little carefree. For one night-- she could forget her responsibilities and enjoy herself.

It felt incredible.

With a champagne grin on her face, arm looped through Madeleine's, the due started off down the hallway. There were a few couples here, lingering in the shadows, talking in hushed tones with their faces pressed close together if they weren't outright making out. It reminded Ari of the one party she'd been to in high school, where if you weren't dancing, you were on the stairs or in a room behind a closed door, smashing lips with a guy who wouldn't claim to know you tomorrow. Hell of a time, right? To say the least, Ari wasn't impressed; she'd never gone to another one.

No, instead she'd turned her attention to her studies. Graduated with honors, gone off to college to do the same thing. Even with her liberal arts degree, she currently worked as an assistant to a jackass of a boss-- but the money was good, so she put up with it. Anything to help her dad out, and keep her own apartment paid up. She even had to work early in the morning, but it'd be worth the headache, if she could just enjoy tonight.

Slipping further down the hallway, the giggling girls rounded a corner, and then another. The prospect of getting lost was lost on Arianna as she oohed and ahhed at the expensive art on the walls and decor around them. She'd even almost lost Madi at one point, but found her again after backtracking, realizing she'd gone too far ahead. "I think I hear voices." She whispered to Madi, glancing over her shoulder up ahead. "In one of the rooms. It's super dark in there, though, but I think I heard two guys." She hid her laughter behind her hands. "I think someone, or a couple someones, are gonna get lucky."

Carter couldn't help himself. He'd been itching to have some fun ever since arriving to this blasted town, but no-- he'd been instructed not to feed or leave the premises until tonight, the night of the party. The fucking rules were dumb, and he hated them, but as a younger vampire it was better to belong to a family. Hell, even as an older vampire, it was better to have a clan than to be on your own. Not that vampires didn't do it; he'd given some thought to becoming a rogue. His mother would surely hunt him down, though, and pull him back by the ear. Despite the fact that she had definitely not given birth to any of her 'children', she refused to let them go.

Pushing all thoughts of the woman from his mind, he focused on the girl in front of him. He'd released his light hold on her as he flipped the lights, his hunter instincts waking up. Although he'd never been anything but the predator, a switch flipped in his mind somewhere, and a grin spread out onto his features. "I think I happen to agree, brother." Carter responded easily, his voice and tone light, carrying across the distance towards the other vampire. Both girls were on edge now, and Carter could taste their fear in the air. "Names are unnecessary for this."

Without warning, one of the girls screamed. A loud, piercing sound that had Carter slamming his hands over his ears. His girl shot past him, leaving her friend in the dust. What a great person. Carter's hand shot out, grasping at the fabric of the tutu on her dress. The sound of the fabric tearing could be heard, but she was gone, disappearing down the hallway. "Maybe this'll be fun after all." He grinned, glancing at Eli with a wink before disappearing after her. Catching up to her easily, he grabbed her by the neck and pulled her to him, wrapping an arm around her waist and clasping the other over her mouth.

"Sleep tight, princess." He whispered into her ear, before sinking his fangs into her neck. Drinking deeply, suddenly not caring about the blood spurting onto the walls, the floor, his clothes-- he almost didn't want to stop.

In a way, Madeleine was in the same predicament as Arianna when it came to having friends and lovers. She just didn't have the time, though it didn't help that she was quite new to this town. It'd only been a few weeks since she'd moved here to try something new. Working as a barista in coffee shops came with its perks; she could move and find a new job pretty easily. But she also knew it wouldn't last her long. She just needed to save up enough to go back to school. She never had gotten the chance to attend university; neither she nor her parents could afford it. Now, though, after almost six years of saving up, she was pretty sure she'd finally get the opportunity.

But none of that mattered right now. All she needed to focus on was having fun and, as she and Ari explored further into the impressive mansion, she was having a better time than she'd ever anticipated having. A giggle escaped the dark haired woman when her friend whispered to her, amusement lighting up her eyes. "How funny would it be if we crashed their fun time?" She smirked, the bubbly champagne clearly getting to her now, even if she'd only had two glasses. Sometime in the maze of hallways, she finished that second glass and had left it behind on a little table they'd passed.

Just as those words left her mouth, however, a scream suddenly sounded from nearby, startling Madi enough to elicit a gasp from her lips. "God, what the hell was that?!" She turned to Arianna, eyebrows raised in fear. That scream hadn't sounded drunk; no, it'd sounded real. Very real. Then, suddenly, she noticed two figures appear at the end of the hall. A young woman, running from a young man. It seemed unimportant, but just as Madeleine was about to glance away, she caught sight of the man with his face buried in the woman's neck. At first, it appeared like the two were just having some fun, but then the blood began to spatter along the walls, the floor, and the people. Eyes blown wide in shock, all Madi could think to do was gasp sharply and point, completely unable to get any words out.

Elliot had been about to say something else when Carter's girl suddenly screamed. The sound pierced through his sensitive ears like a knife, causing the man to wince and release his own girl as his hands shot up to cover his ears. Cursing, he then realized the other girl had run. Well, time to let the fun begin, huh? Seeing the potential opportunity to escape, his own victim made to sprint after her friend, but Eli wasn't about to let her have the chance. In a flash, his arms went around her waist, seizing her tight against his solid body.

"Oh no, I don't think you're going anywhere," he cooed into her ear, feeling her tremble beneath his touch as he held her close. Out in the hallway, he could hear Carter grabbing hold of his girl as well, the words he whispered to her causing Elliot to smirk. God, they were bad. But it was so much fun... Shaking his head, he couldn't help but smirk and bury his face into the girl's neck, his hand moving to cover her mouth so no one would hear her struggles. Moments later, his fangs were sinking into her skin, rewarding him with her sweet, sweet blood.

The sticky red liquid was getting everywhere as he fed, including all over his chin and clothes. But he didn't care. This was their mansion; Elliot would easily be able to sneak upstairs and change into some fresh clothing. No one would notice a thing. And as for his victim? Ah, well, he'd easily erase her mind before she was allowed to return to the party. Of course, he'd clean her up first, so no one would question anything. But he didn't bother to think much about any of that right now; he simply wanted to enjoy this while he could.

If Arianna had had any idea just how their luck was about to turn, she would have grabbed Madi's arm and pulled the both of them to safety. Instead of running, however, Madi seemed just as excited at the prospect of sneaking up on the voices as Ari was. Both of them grinning, tipsy from the champagne and high on life, started to turn towards where the voices were coming from. Before Arianna could say a word, or even take more than a few steps, a bloodcurdling scream rang out from around the corner. Frozen to the spot, Arianna could only stare as a beautiful female whipped around the corner, her gaze terrified.

Gripping Madi's arm in fear, Arianna managed to tug once on the girl before someone else followed after the girl. A male, with some sort of steampunk mask covering his features, grabbed her and pulled her to him. Part of her tried to rationalize the situation: two lovers, fooling around, playing cat and mouse in a chase that would end in passionate love making. It was most girls dream, right? To have that sort of passion?

As soon as she saw the blood, that part of her brain that had tried to think of a reasonable explanation came to a freezing halt. Her own blood ran cold as she watched, helpless, as the man... bit her? Is that what he was doing? It didn't make sense, but then again, it didn't have to. "Madi," Ari whispered, finally tearing her feet from the floor to begin backing up some. The other girl couldn't possibly be helped now. It was too late for her, but she and Madi could still survive. "We have to run."

Glancing over at the dark haired girl, Arianna pulled on her arm again, trying to keep the fear from her voice as she spoke. "Run!"

Carter knew the moment that he fucked up.

Ever since laying eyes on the two girls that he and Eli had chosen, Carter had pretty much stopped paying attention to his surroundings. It wasn't smart of him, or any vampire, to do that and this was the exact reason why. As he'd sank his fangs into the neck of the nameless girl before him, feeding off of both her blood and her fear, he felt his own excitement rise. Vampires had enhanced senses, and could usually smell or at least tell a human was nearby.

But not this time, apparently. So fed up from waiting to feed, he'd gotten careless. They both had. He heard the words we have to run and jerked his head up, tearing open the tender flesh of the girls neck as he did so. Her dead body dropped to the ground, blood covering his body and the walls and beginning to pool at his feet. His gaze landed on Arianna first; she was the one he'd heard. She spoke again, and then took off, tugging her friend behind her.

"Eli." Carter growled, knowing the other vampire would hear him. Without waiting for the other vampire to catch up, he took off, taking another hallway that led him to be in front of the girls. Appearing in front of them, he placed a hand on either wall beside him, effectively blocking their path. "Going somewhere, ladies?"

Madeleine

Madeleine didn't understand what in the hell she was witnessing. And it wasn't because her brain was tipsy from the alcohol she'd just consumed. No, it was because whatever was happening before them was completely unusual. Was that man biting the woman in his arms? There was no time to consider whether what her eyes saw was correct or not, for Madi suddenly felt Arianna's grip on her arm tightening, the girl's soft voice reaching her ears in a terrified whisper.

It took the dark haired girl's mind a moment to comprehend what her friend had said, but soon enough, her feet were stumbling over each other as she turned around and made to rush back to the main party, Ari at her side. They didn't get far. Only a few feet down the hall, a dark figure suddenly emerged before them, causing Madi to freeze in her spot, both hands grasping Arianna's arm tightly as fear coursed through her veins. This man... There was blood all over him. He must have been the one they'd just seen biting that woman.

Madeleine stared up at him, eyes as wide as saucers, as she tried to think of what to say. "Y-Yes. Back to the main party. G-Got lost back there and a-all, you know. Sorry, we didn't mean to go where w-we shouldn't have!" Her voice was high pitched and filled with fear as she choked out a rather horrible response. Swallowing thickly, she stepped ahead of Arianna and made to push past the man, desperate to leave the hallway and get back to the main part of the mansion, where she could hear the party continuing on as if whatever had happened back there was simply their imagination. But Madi knew it wasn't and she was sickened with horror and fear.
