"Now that everyone is gathered here... We can begin." A girl said to the crowd of her peers that had gathered in front of her. She swallowed. This plan... It'd set them all free. Free from their duties, free from their fates, free from the trick that's been played on all of them. She was nervous, however. What if it didn't work out? What if this also a part of "their" plan? What if- She felt a firm sensation on her shoulder, and looked over. It was her best friend, flashing her a smile.

"Hey, it's a bit late to get nervous now, eh?" Her friend said. "You've got this!"

"Thanks, Airi..." She forced a smile in return.

"No matter what happens, even on the off chance, y'know... I forgive you."

"That... That means a lot to me... Thank you..." Airi raised a fist forward, and she bumped her own against it. The clock on the wall struck 3:00 am.

"Do you want to become a Magical Girl?"
At 3:00 am through 4:00 am on May 1st, all of the Magical Girls residing in Matsuyama suddenly vanished without a trace. Of course, the days after this were hectic for some groups. Police now suddenly had an amount of missing persons cases that neared three digits. The Kyubeys now had no Magical Girls in Matsuyama. For the next few days they set out to picking suitable candidates to try to replace the magical girls that had gone missing. It didn't take too long for them to do so, surprisingly, and they soon had their numbers back. However, these new magical girls, with nobody to teach them, had found out that they had all started around the same time. With a new batch of inexperienced Magical Girls now residing over the city of Matsuyama tasked with protecting their city from the threat of witches and their familiars, things were bound to get ugly.

Word was already beginning to circulate through the loose network of newbie Magical Girls. Apparently, from what some girls heard from the Kyubey, there were Magical girls in Matsuyama before them, about the same number as well. What had happened to them? A good bit of them noted a large amount of new missing person posters. It seemed obvious to girls with enough information that something had wiped out all their predecessors all at once. What was it? What could have possibly happened? Without anybody having lived through the experience and the kyubeys seemingly knowing nothing, the case of Matsuyama's Magical Girl Mystery was in full swing.

Agotta woke up bright and early, ready to tackle the day. She woke up and stretched a bit while looking at the calendar on her wall. It's Friday! She still had school, but tomorrow and the next day was the weekend! She could do whatever she wanted those days, but more importantly, today was the day a new episode of her favorite TV series was on! She got dressed in her school uniform, packed her bag, and then sat on the couch, staring at the television. She was half an hour early, but she didn't mind as an episode of Kamen Rider was on. She'd seen it before, but still enjoyed it all the same. Her father walked in, still half asleep, took a look at her, and said "Oh, today's Friday." He shuffled over to turn the coffee machine on. A little while after, her mother walked in just like her father, and also said "Oh, today's Friday?" She shuffled over to the coffee machine as well, and started talking to her father. She started paying a bit of attention to them when she heard they were talking about her, but then immediately shifted back to the TV when she heard the next program start. Her favorite show, Pokémon, was now on! In this episode, Ash and his friends... That wasn't important. What was important was that he encountered a Pokémon named "Cubone" while doing so. It looked pretty cute in her opinion. It looked like Charmander, except with a cool hat. Times like this are what her wish was for. She reached into her pocket and brought her soul gem out. She put her hands together around it, and activated her ability. Hot Pink energy shot out of her soul gem, and began to take the shape of the Pokémon on TV. In a few moments, it began to change in color, and it was brought to life. She smiled widely. It looked even cuter in real life! She looked at her parents again, and they seemed completely unbothered. In fact, they seemed to not notice. Oh yeah, she remembered that it's all invisible to them. Normal people couldn't see her Pokémon, which made them great for sneaking snacks away from other kids. Her attention shifted to the creature now in her living room. It seemed... Sad? She didn't know why, and looked back at the TV. She dug in her schoolbag and pulled out one of those officially licensed books with every Pokémon in them, and read that the Pokémon "Cubone" wears its dead mother's skull. That made her pretty sad, and she began to tear up.

"Don't worry, little buddy!" She whispered to it. "I'll bring your mommy, too!" She looked at the page. Cubone evolved into "Marowak". She grabbed her soul gem again, and repeated the magic from earlier. This time, however, the result was a bigger creature, that looked very similar to Cubone. The two creatures looked at each other, and the smaller one began crying. They hugged each other, and Agotta smiled. She hadn't even noticed that the show had ended. It was time for her to go to school! She got up, and then fell right on her face. Why'd she feel so sluggish all of a sudden? She looked at her soul gem. Instead of its usually brilliant color, it looked dull, faded, and blackened. She had gotten so caught up in using her magical ability that she forgot that it took magical power. That was bad. Her parents rushed over to her and began to help her up.

"Agotta, are you OK?" Her mom asked.

"Yeah, just tripped, is all." She lied. Uh-oh. She really hoped that she wouldn't be like this for the entire day at school. Thankfully, Marowak was tall and strong enough to help her a bit.

"Do you want to stay home today?" Her dad asked. Did she? A day off school is always cool, but if she stayed in they probably wouldn't let her out later. She definitely had to find a witch and get a grief seed soon. The cute little cat that gave her this told her not to get it too dark or she could die!

"No, I'm fine!" She said reluctantly. She grabbed her bag, and began heading out of the door.

This sucked. She felt so sluggish and tired. She looked at the two creatures accompanying her. Reuniting them was definitely worth it, and she didn't regret that. She wished she had some way to clean her soul gem, though. She also needed to befriend Marowak and Cubone. They were helping her because she brought them together, so if they met an opponent right now, they might abandon her. She'd probably be doomed in that case. What to do, what to do... If only someone who could help cleanse her soul gem appeared... There were other magical girls, right? Where were they at a time like this?!

The sun broke over the horizon as Nozomi leaned back in her seat. She'd gotten used to waking up and leaving before Mom on weekdays.

The sounds of the train running set a relaxing rhythm for her commute. People packed each car, each of them occupied in their own ways. Some of them were even her schoolmates, talking to each other but never her.

After almost two years, she'd gotten used to not having anything to do after school either. No dance practice, no script reads...just an empty house and then maybe a few hours with Mom before she left for the night shift.

Her left hand slipped into her pocket, making sure her soul gem was with her. Not that it mattered, in her (very short) experience, there was no danger of a magical girl losing her soul gem short of deliberate destruction or...depletion.

A faint glow emanated from it in her pocket as she idly materialized a shuriken between the fingers of her right hand. She twirled it like a coin and tossed it into the air-

The train jerked at that moment, sending it clattering to the floor. With a thought, she dematerialised it, reclaiming the magic.

Most of the witches she fought so far, thankfully surfaced after sundown. But that might change soon...

there had been a disruption in the city, a strange vanishing that had not been seen before. Magical girls by their nature were meant to only be able to form small groups in order to claim the limited number of grief seeds, yet the city somehow had united those with in. The kyubey had of course been aware of this odd grouping, but the girls had grown distrustful of them. The truth they had learned like always had driven a wedge between the incubators and their energy source. This was why Aza had been trying to explain to the others they should change the system. She knew as well as they did that was off the table the amount of energy needed to do it was prohibitive and even she had to admit that. Thus they had scrambled to get as many girls to agree to contracts as possible. Aza didn't like that, she didn't like how the incubators went about things, but she understood them to well to hate them, she could never join with other magical girls in their feeling of being used. Aza knew she was at the same time the most free of them and also the most enslaved by the incubators.

" And you couldn't find a wanderer to fill them in?" Aza asked sitting on a park bench as one of the terminals sat beside her. Magical girls would know terminals as kyubey even though they were just bodies for the whole to talk through there were only two minds in the incubators Aza and the incubator.

" We were unaware we would need to fill so many the nearest wander is days away" The terminal mentally said though the two didn't honestly need to speak they were one being in a way. They also needed someone they knew would make sure would say the right things, omit what wasn't asked and keep the new girls from following in the previous girls steps. That had been a lot of energy lost and to stop the universe from being destroyed by entropy needed every last drop.

" So I am going to be playing babysitter to make sure you don't lose to many " Aza sighed still able to feel negative emotions her soul gem would darken slightly for a moment before returning to a clear state shining like a ruby once more. That was perhaps the greatest benefit of her wish she knew how to get rid of that dark emotional energy that built up in her gem, she wouldn't become a witch. With her mind connected to the incubators her becoming a witch would likely drag them into it as well so all parties had a vested interest in keeping Aza close enough to human.

" Yes with no one to teach them the girls are more likely to fall in battle than to become witches and even if they could handle battle right now them becoming witches is not desired" The terminals aid nodding. The key words in that had been right now a human might think they didn't want this batch to become witches, they did, just they didn't want more witches till the others could handle them. It was a careful balancing act and right now the set up was lacking it's counter balance to witches, without the magical girls the witches would destroy humanity and cut the incubator off from the energy they needed early.

" You picked some dumb girls this time one of them I don't think is listening to you " Aza said able to feel what one of the invisible monitoring terminals saw as one of the girls was already getting on the edge. The incubators had stepped up monitoring after that incident and thus were for the moment having terminals secretly watch all the girls from a distance. It wasn't for the girls good, but for their own good to make sure losses were limited and to make sure no lingering effects of the now missing girls could be felt. They didn't want to lose another batch of energy.

" It seems so you should go fix that a witch right now might cause to much destruction" The Terminal said tilting its head a bit as if pondering, that girl had been told to be careful of her soul gem darkening and how that would lead to her death. While her soul turning into a witch was left out she had not asked about what would happen to her soul. They did not want any of them turning yet it was to early and there were already witches running around eating up humans.

" Fine you guys are in charge of my lodgings and transfer then. Make sure it is nice I don't want a cheap hotel a nice place with a nice big bath this time" Aza said getting up. She would be sticking around that meant changing schools and of course getting a place to stay. Normally the incubators would not help without a wish, but she was here to teach the girls and make sure they knew the right things. They also would use her place as a de facto base and hot baths were nice. In the end it was a small ask from on of their own and a minor case of manipulating a few minds to make it all happen.

The terminal nodded not even needing to do the gesture and Aza knew it, but she had noticed the terminals acting more human like after she had joined them. Aza wondered if some part of her was rubbing off on them as they had rubbed off on her. That could be very bad as if they got to human like then their mission might be in jeopardy. Aza felt if they just gave up the mission, if it didn't change but was left abandoned then all that had happened, all the suffering would be in vain and she didn't want that. With that Aza tapped into the power of the incubators and vanished from sight and the location just like the Terminals so often did . She would be moving from one spot to another teleportation where she could come across this magical girl that was not listening to Kyubey.

Agotta kept shambling to school. She felt exhausted. Maybe she should've taken her parents' offer and stayed home... No, if that was the case, it'd end up even worse. At least like this, she can bond with Marowak and Cubone while at school, and then find a witch and fight it afterwards. Perhaps she could find a kind Magical Girl who could lend her a grief seed... Maybe she could-

Agotta spotted something in an alleyway as she was passing by. A kyubey? It could probably help her somehow! It might be able to clean her soul gem, or lead her to a witch! She turned way too fast to approach it, and stumbled. Thankfully, Marowak kept her from hitting the ground, but she still had to take a few seconds to get back on her feet. She shuffled over to the little white... creature... Wow... It was way bigger up close. It was larger than her! This intimidated Agotta quite a bit.

"Um, excuse me, Mr-" Upon further inspection, it seemed that this Kyubey was... a girl? "Miss Kyubey?" Agotta sheepishly asked the giant Kyubey. "I um... I used too much magic power, and now I'm tired... Can you help me?" She pleaded. She showed her soul gem to the creature. It looked to be very dull and had some black spots. "I got carried away and summoned both of them..." She looked at Marowak and Cubone. "But, I read that Cubone's mommy died, and I couldn't just leave it without its mom! I had to get its mom too!" She tried explaining herself, hoping that the Giant Kyubey(?) would see her reasoning and help her.

The night before, Asami was sitting in her room after fighting with her mom. The same fight they always had. Her mom telling Asami that they will be moving again, twice in the same year. It was frustrating familiar feeling for Asami always having to move to a new city, meeting new people and yet not able to make any lasting friendships.

Suddenly a white rabbit/cat like thing appear before her. " so have you considered what we talked about earlier Asami. Have you made up your mind over what your wish you like to make. " kyubey said in pure emotionless state.

Asami jump at the suddenly appearance of kyubey, but quickly composed herself before speaking. " yes I have been thinking about that. So all I have to do is make a contract with with you for my wish to be granted." Asami said with curiosity. Almost as if she was tempted make her wish. She knew what wish she would make. It was predictable if people knew her, but most didn’t really know her. She didn’t want to leave again. She like the school she went to and her part time job.

" that be correct Asami. You will also need to fulfill your role as Magical Girl for us." Kyubey said flicking it's tail back and forth in almost a hypnotic sort of way.

Tired of fighting with her mother about staying in one place. Asami makes her wish with kyubey. Changing everything as as a blood red soul gem appears in front of her.

Aza did not have to wait long after her teleportation to find her target, she didn't even have time to work out the pain of her transformation, and she was not happy about it. The girl didn't even seem to be in the double digits yet. The pokemon with her revealed what her wish was and Aza almost didn't want to help the child she had made such a stupid wish. She had traded her life away for fake real pokemon. Incubators could easily fake life forms even give them their own minds but they weren't real like actual animals. Still Aza guessed the girl had wanted real pokemon and technically the wish had been delivered as to most they would seem real. Still Aza couldn't just let the girl go off and turn into a witch, the incubators couldn't afford a new witch or worse a walpurgis event.

" Agotta" Aza said her tone and voice very similar to a normal incubator and like them she spoke with telepathy. " You were warned about the consequences of over using your soul gem" She continued having access to the incubators memories and knowledge she could easily fish out a name and wish if she felt like it. " Still you are young and your kindness should be rewarded" Aza continued being a little more emotional then a regular incubator and actually caring about emotions.

" Hand your soul gem to me this is a special reward" She said holding out one of her white fur covered hands " I will purify your soul gem just this one time" each word said slowly to emphasize the point " This is also why I have been sent to train you and the others"

Komi remembered the first time she stood atop a moving train.

It was back in middle school when her stunts were just starting to ramp up. Bike Tricks and big jumps were no longer satisfying, and more factors had to be brought in to really get her blood flowing. Her legs had been unsteady, and she'd had to jump off when the train approached a tunnel. She'd fractured her arm on the roll, but still loved how fast the train had gone. It had been exhilerating enough for her to try several more times, eventually using it as the preferred method of travelling around in spite of the risks.

But now?

It was more a simple gag for her.

Komi had recently gotten in touch with a very interesting new pal, who'd given her a rather amazing gift in exchange for a little service that she dubbed Witch Hunting. She got a fantastic ride and a crap ton of abilities, while her pal got her aid whenever some things called witches started making waves.

For Komi was an objective win win scenario, but her new abilities made many of her old stunts far less of a threat to her.

Didn't mean she didn't like watching the sky pass overhead while enjoying those good old memories, but that wasn't why she was here today.

As the Train pulled into a station, Komi rolled off the top and landed before one of the doors just as it was opening. The many students who were prepared to board were notably stunned by her sudden appearance, but Komi couldn't bring herself to care. Their uniforms were familiar, primarily because she'd been going to the same school only until very recently. She'd been mulling over stopping in attendance and her meeting with her pal only solidified her decision.

But her sudden absence had been the talk for many of her former classmates, several even attempting to speak to her as she stepped onto the train, but she just waved them off with a grin as she returned to her search. She was here for a very specific person she was trying to get in contact with: someone else who'd met that same friend recently.

For Komi, finding them wasn't exactly difficult, she'd been demanding aid in locating other girls from their mutual pal. And with her skateboard tucked under her arm, she approached the girl with long dyed red hair who seemed to be fiddling with something. By the time she entered her train car, whatever she'd been messing with was gone.

Komi could care less, and wound up planting herself right next to her with a grin, "Hey there!" she greeted whilst leaning in with a raised eyebrow "You wouldn't happen to be that Nui girl, right?"

It'd been less than a month since Nozomi made her contract and attained her powers, and she'd more or less been fighting alone all that time.

This city was big enough, and apparently under siege by witches enough, that multiple magical girls could sustain themselves without running into each other.

She wasn't sure what she would do if she ever ran into another magical girl. She'd heard that instead of cooperating, some would fight over grief seeds instead...

The brief commotion as the train stopped called her back to attention as people shuffled on and off. Some of the girls called out to a "Komi-chan" who was boarding.

And this person, who she quickly determined was a bit shorter and younger than her, had plopped into the seat next to her and started talking.

Even if she couldn't hear anything special from her, the feeling radiating off her was unmistakable. This was another magical girl.

Nozomi let go of the soul gem in her pocket, both hands holding onto her cane. "Nui...yes, that's correct, I am Shiranui. You must be...Komi-san."

The next stop was where she would get off, a good way for her to extricate herself from this situation. In the meantime, she could try to feel out this stranger. "Was there something you needed? I don't believe we've met before..."

The big Kyubey seemed a little angry. Was it busy? Was it something that mimicked a Kyubey? No, it knew her name, so it must've heard it from another Kyubey or something. "Y-yes, I know... I'm sorry..." She said, bowing. She did as the Kyubey told her, placing her soul gem in the fluffy white hand. Wow, this Kyubey had very soft fur... No, she can't pet it. It was going to help her, she'd at least have to ask if she could pet it. She had pet the first Kyubey she met for a good few minutes before she let it leave.

"Umm... If you don't mind me asking, why are you so big? Are you a stronger Kyubey or something?" She asked. She felt pretty tense, considering her soul gem looked like someone was burning plastic, and wanted to make some small talk to ease herself.

Settling into the seat, Komi sat her skateboard in the seat next to her as she stretched her arms up.

Though the other students' attempts to garner her attention had failed, that didn't mean they stopped eyeing her. Komi had made something of a name for herself in school for her behavior. With how little she actually seemed to care for her academics in comparison to acting out, she was sure she'd have been expelled eventually if she'd stuck around.

"Komi, Mura, call me whatever you like, hon." she smirked before nodding to her "But it don't really matter if we met before, seein' as we're playing the same game now."

She was a Magical Girl alright, which meant K must've given her something exchange for her services. If Komi were more focused on that kind of thing, she may jave been inclined to pry, but she didn't come all this way just to talk stats. That kind of stuff wasn't her vibe and she damn well wasn't going to pretend it was. With the old MGs gone or dead or whatever they were, all the new Magical Girls were green. This meant Komi could set some ground rules.

"K's probably already told ya about the old team goin' ghost on 'em, so I can just skip over that crap and get to the meat o this." she waved a hand around as she talked before poking Nui in the shoulder "Point is, if we're called in to play and have to work together at any point, I go in first. You can back me up however the hell ya want afterwards, but I leap first, got it honey?"

Aza held the gem up looking at how dark it was, the incubators had really not been generous when it came to how much the gem could handle. The pokemon really did take a lot to make so it only made sense to require more power for the usage of it. With a moment of focus she took the dark energy out from the gem purifying it and sending it to the other incubators. The energy gained from cleansing a gem was nothing compared to after a magical girl became a witch, but every little bit still counted. Aza almost didn't listen to the little girl as she asked her questions and it really made Aza wish she had a different form when being a magical girl as looking like Kyubey was annoying and reminded her of what she was now.

Aza held out the now bright and shining soul gem " I am big because I am not a Kyubey I am a magical girl like you " Aza said changing back to her humans form and hiding the pain. What she said was not a lie though the truth was far more complicated, she was not an incubator yet she was port of them, in the end she was not Kyubey. Also there were not multiple kyubey there was just one spread out in many bodies so one could not be a kyubey as there just was kyubey. " I just look more like kyubey than most, though you should keep this soul gem cleansing our little secret after all it is my special power" Aza said again not telling a lie as no other magical girl had the abilitiy to cleanse soul gems, though one certainly could be made if the right wish was given. " Also i am sorry if i sound made kyubey had me move here to make sure you girls would know the ropes " She finished handing the gem back avoiding saying she was here to try to keep them alive for now as that would cause a bad reaction in most magical girls.

Agotta watched as the darkness vanished from her soul gem and it began to glow vibrantly again. It felt as if she had eaten her favorite food, or saw something really cool on TV. Her weariness slowly faded as it glowed brighter, and was replaced with happiness. The slight frown she had rapidly changed into a wide smile. "Thank you!" She said. She watched in awe as the big Kyubey changed into a girl. No wonder it looked like a girl! "Don't worry, I'll keep your secret! I owe you, after all!" She put her finger up to her mouth in a shushing motion and winked. Agotta was very happy to be back to her usual self again. She didn't have to lean on Marowak just to walk anymore, and could even run around if she pleased. She didn't want to, though. She still had to get to school and- She was running late! She might miss the train!

"Um, thank you for that and everything! I really owe you one, but I gotta catch the train to school!" Agotta said very quickly, already backing out of the alleyway. "I hope to meet you again miss! Thanks again!" She thought about something, and pulled a small piece of paper out her pocket. She wrote something down and handed it to the kyubey girl. "It's my phone number, call me if you need anything miss... Miss Magical Girl!" She waved to Aza one more time before grabbing Cubone, beckoning Marowak, and starting to run. She really didn't want to end up late to school, and if she missed the train that's what would happen.

A short while later, Agotta had arrived at the train station with her Pokémon, and she actually had a good amount of time left before departure, much to her surprise. She was definitely right about being able to run after her soul gem was purified. She quickly paid her train fare, neglecting to do so for the invisible Pokémon next to her, and then boarded the train with them. She wanted to find an empty group of seats so that Marowak and Cubone didn't have to just sit on the floor, and so that she could secure a window seat. She just so happened to spot some empty seats opposite of two older looking girls. She decided to take them, placing Cubone in the seat in front of her, and sitting down. Marowak hopped into Cubone's seat with it. Agotta felt tired again. Not as much as earlier, but still pretty tired. She looked out the window, and then back at her Pokémon. Both of them looked out their own window. She was very glad she made her wish. If only other people could see them, like the two girls sitting opposite of them on the train, Komi Murasa and Nozomi Shiranui, could.

Asami woke up at her normal time. She felt different today. Of course she felt different Asami thought to herself. She made a wish and became a magical girl for a strange cat last night.

"Asami time to get ready for school. Hurry up your breakfast and lunch is ready. " said Asami's mother.

This was strange Asami her mother was never home when she woke up before. Asami knew her mom cared for her but her mother's job always took priority over asami's happiness. Asami didn't really really know what to say, so she just got dress in her school uniform. Asami opt for pants instead of a skirt. She went down stairs and ate her breakfast without speaking. Asami finished eating and left. She hop on the train near her apartment building. The noise of the train didn't bother her much.

Nozomi might have wanted conversation, but she wasn't sure this was much better.

The girl who had sat down next to her started going on and giving Nozomi orders about what to do if they ended up fighting together.

To Nozomi, that seemed like a big if. Still, appeasing someone was far better than making an enemy of them.

"Alright, you're the boss." She rolled her shoulder slightly, leaning back in her seat. "Looks like you know how to handle yourself, so I'll stay out of your way."

Someone else had gotten on the train, a kid. Accompanied by the sounds of...two pairs of pattering feet? Did they even let pets on board? And a faint smell of dry sand...whoever it was should have cleaned those animals better.

Just then the train pulled into the station nearest her school. Getting up, she extended her cane. Her other hand reached into her pocket, squeezing her soul gem for reassurance as she nodded to Komi. "Take care of yourself." Despite her annoyance, she felt a small drop of concern. "I mean it."

"Ya damn right I am!" Komi leaned back in her seat and folded her arms behind her head "Glad to see we cleared that up!"

She hopped up out of her seat long before the train stopped, turning to look the red-head over some more before standing tall and snatching her skateboard from the seat. Now all she needed to do was make sure the other Magical Girls got the Memo. She had to hurry, as there was no telling when the next witch attack would pop up. Time spent establishing the ground rules was time she could spend jumping into the fray, and that wasn't a trade Komi wanted to have.

So as the train finally began slowing and Nui rose from her seat, Komi nodded and turned away, "Hey, you do the same, Honey, no time like the present to- Is that a damn Marowak?"

Yes, just as she was prepping to walk out and continue her search, Komi's eyes snapped towards an honest to god Pokemon of all things just sitting in the seat across from them looking out a window. Komi blinked, then narrowed her eyes as the lack of reaction from the other people on the train clued her in on what was happening. The Marowak wasn't alone, a Cubone was also there with a girl who looked as though she was ready to fall asleep.

But Komi knew just from looking at her what was going on, and soon her agitated confusion was replaced with another grin that widened as she nudged Nui again, "Heh, looks like finding the others might not be so tough on me, after all." she said before approaching the little girl "Hey there doll!"

she gave a wave before approaching the girl, who was comparatively young to both her and Nui. In fact, Komi was positive she was the youngest person she'd seen on the train. But even with that realization, the closer she got the more certain she was that this girl was also a Magical Girl. Hopefully her age would make her just as compliant with the Rules of Komi, otherwise she might have to show her teeth.

"You the one responsible for these guys, girlie?" Komi asked whilst leaning forward to get eye level with her and nodding towards the Pokemon "Because I'm thinking you are."

Aza had decided to follow Agotta though at her own pace as she too had to go to school. That was no doubt a place where magical girl were going to gather thanks to the requirements to be be one. Still Aza had assumed she would need to search high and low for the girls the eldest of them having only a month experience was not a great thing. While that magical girl could perhaps teach them the basics they would not know how it was best to act and the ins and outs of witch fighting and management. She was still likely in the fight for yourself stage thinking the world was theirs now that they had a small amount of power. This worried Aza a little she oddly didn't want Agotta to learn from someone in such a stage and wanted to correct them as soon as possible. As she walked Aza focused and called forth the relevant knowledge for the magical girls here, names, wishes, and other minor things an incubator might need to know about them.

Aza had becomes a of Agotta not in a letteral sense but in thanks tot he lines she was not far behind her small charge and in the car she saw other magical girls all those that had been recently brought in and event minted as early as yesterday. So when Aza as Agotta getting in her mind harassed by the seemingly most senior magical girl while the physically eldest did not held Aza felt oddly annoyed. Aza should not care how the magical girls treated each other, though she was here to teach them so she should care, but not on an emotional level. Aza felt an odd urge to interrupt to pull Komi away and squeeze her soul gem, yet she could not do that she should remain somewhat unbiased she was now an incubator she had to remember why this was all done. Still she was here to teach and this girl seemed to want to tech her own rules.

" You should try a more friendly tone Komi Murasa, you are not the biggest fish in this pond " Aza said making her presence known and using Komi's full name to make sure the girl knew that she knew exactly who she was " A month while commendable is not long " She continued giving more information away to show she knew a lot more than a name. " You have plenty left to learn " Aza finished seeing that all of her targets were in the same train car. Depending on how this girl reacted she might need to call for a terminal to get everything settled.

Agotta stared out the window as the train chugged toward its destination. Maybe sitting down right after that run wasn't a good idea. She felt terribly drowsy... 'Heh... That's a Pokémon name...' She thought to herself. She started to fall asleep, then heard someone mention Marowak. She shot up and looked around. One of the two older girls she sat opposite of was looking right at the Pokémon sitting across from her. Oh boy, she found yet another Magical Girl! The girl who could see her Pokémon approached her after saying something to her friend, and gave her a polite greeting. "Hi!" Agotta said in response. Why'd she call her a doll? She supposed she was small in comparison to the girl, and maybe a little pale because she stayed inside a lot. "Yep! They're my friends!" Agotta said in response to Komi's question. "I'm happy to meet another Magical Girl! My wish was to make Pokémon real, and it worked! What was your wish?" Being a kid who just found someone with a common interest, Agotta immediately started barraging them with conversation. She would've continued to talk Komi's ear off if Aza, the kyubey girl from before, didn't interrupt. The other girl had to be more friendly? If she were more friendly and she'd be in a fast food commercial! She didn't really understand what Aza was saying. How'd she get on this train anyways? "Hey miss magical girl!" Agotta said to Aza, waving. "I was just talking to miss... other magical girl about my Pokémon!" That ended what she wanted to say to Aza, now Komi was in for a lot more than she bargained for.

"This morning I woke up and watched the latest episode of the Pokémon show on TV, and it was pretty cool! I saw Cubone and it looked like a Charmander with a cool hat so I felt I just had to summon it! I summoned it, and it looked sad, so I got my book with all the Pokémon out and flipped to Cubone's page. It said that Cubone's mommy died! That made me really sad, so I looked in my book and found out that Marowak is Cubone's mommy, so I summoned it too, and they got along really well! I was really happy that I was able to reunite them. Their happiness made me happy too! But then I used too much magic and my soul gem got all dark. That made me fall over so my parents offered me to stay home, but I knew that if I did I wouldn't be able to purify my soul gem, so I said no. On the way to the train station, I found Miss Magical Girl and she-" Agotta paused for a second. "-let me borrow a grief seed, so now I'm all better! I really owe her one, so I'm gonna find some witches with Marowak and Cubone here! I'm thinking that my plan with them is to let Marowak go first because it has a really high defense stat! Did you know that? I saw it in my book! I can show you!" Agotta paused her mental assault of words to dig in her bag and find the Pokémon Handbook her parents got her at some department store. This would probably be the best chance anyone would get to interrupt her. It was a wonder that the train wasn't departing on them with all this conversation.

Asami walked past some girls talking loudly. She could of sworn one mention pokemon. Either way she didn't care. Asami found a place to sit at the opposite end of the same train car as the girl. She pulled out her cat ear headphones and listens to an audio textbook. Asami patiently waited for the train station stop closes to the school. Asami was not into getting into others conversations .

Nozomi halted in the doorway of the train car. The young kid had started talking about how there were Pokemon created by her powers, right out in the open like that.

Though apparently, no one else could see them.

And another being was among them, a creature that felt like a distinct void among the concentrated magical power that was present on the scene. Kyubeys didn't feel like that, at least as far as she knew. But it certainly was talking to Komi like it was one.

Just then, an automatic notification chimed...and the doors slid shut.

"Crap." Nozomi cursed under her breath. She had to make the next stop no matter what. A call about her attendance was the last thing her mom needed.

Holding herself against one of the standing poles, she made sure to keep Komi, Aza, and Agotta in front of her. Something might happen soon, and she wanted to at least be ready.

Another magical girl had just boarded before the doors closed on her...she wasn't sure where they were.

The Lil lady didn't even try to hide it, there was no mincing words with her or subtle implication like Komi had with Nui, Poke-Girl over here seemed absolutely jumping for a chance to chat. Almost immediately she came clean about her wish for Pokémon to be real and how excited she was to meet another Magical Girl, the sheer unadulterated eagerness in her eyes so sweet that Komi had to fight not to laugh at her lack of comprehension immediately.

Not helping was the interruption they faced in the form of some random red-eyed chick that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Maybe she was quiet, or maybe Komi had been too caught up in Poke-Girl that she'd missed her. Either way, she started going on about Komi playing nice or some kiddie stuff, Komi tuned most of it out after the first sentence due to being distracted by the manner of speech in the first place. Either way, it seemed she was aware enough of her reputation if her attempts at asserting dominance were any indication, and probably didn't want her influencing any impressionable kids.

"Ehhhh?" she raised an eyebrow, but before she could wave her off Poke-Girl comes in yet again and outs ole Red-Eye as another Magical Girl before Komi even had to do anything. Yet again, Komi had to fight not to laugh as she once again directed the conversation to her Pokémon. It was a hard-fought battle, with Komi cracking a grin and clasping Poke-Girl on the shoulder whilst nodding to Red-Eye.

"You heard her, Baby!" Komi gave Poke-Girl a playful shake "Let the dollie say her piece before gettin' your panties in a twist."

And say her piece she did...

What followed was what Komi could affectionately label as word vomit, going on and on about her kiddie show and how it made her feel. So much so that Komi couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity for her, followed unimaginable amusement from how far into the deep end of the pool Kyubey had tossed her. This amusement helped her pretend to be invested in Poke-Girl's story, giving nods and No Way's the same way she did back in school during those busted classes.

But then she brought up her pal's generous offer of a grief seed, and Komi's eyebrow rose.

It made a little more sense now, ole Red-Eye getting all bent out of shape over Komi scoping out her lil' friend over here "She did, did she?" she commented, though it did little to trip up Poke-Girl. Instead she voiced her intentions to go find a Witch and essentially treat it like a Pokémon game, sending the little creatures into the fray the same way a trainer would. Komi didn't exactly remember much about Pokémon's battle system, having stopped watching even before she was in school and only seeing the merchandise from time to time, but one look at the Marowark and Cubone had her
convinced the two would get mauled going up against a Witch.

"Awwww, look at you gettin' all invested in 'em!" Komi could hold back, grabbing Poke-Girl and pulling her into a side hug before chuckling "You go right ahead and do whatever you feel like doin' dollie! Auntie Komi just wants to set a lil ground rule: If there's ever a really strong Witch that we need to work together to take out, I go in first. Your little friends'll probably be grateful for the help, and I'm pretty sure ya big sis over there don't want me muscling in on her favorite lil' munchkin unless its really important. Ya follow me?"

Aza did not like Komi much from her attitude she was the kind to run off half cocked and die because she forgot those she had no one to come to help her. The limited supply of grief seeds could be shared if a seed was not fully used by one magical girl or pushed to its limits, but that risked the witch reviving. Still Komi was staking charge she could be a leader of a group if she could learn to lead from love and respect rather than from intimidation and bravado.

" In that you are wrong Komi" Aza said not bothering with honorifics or anything or pretending they were familiar she was being like kyubey in this instance and not caring about customs. " I am not here to stay I am here to train you and the other new recruits and make sure you guys form a proper troupe " Aza explained using a made up term for a group of magical girls. Aza had found giving things names and set definitions often made others more willing to listen as it felt more structured and all people liked a little structure in their fantasy. " Or would you rather fight a foil witch yourself?" Aza asked another term she had made up while creating her own methods to bring structure to the system, not that kyubey cared his mind to far from human to see the benefits.

Agotta felt ecstatic about talking to Komi. She was one of the few people besides her parents and some friends at school that listened to her talk! She very much appreciated someone listening to what she had to say. She didn't resist being grappled into a side hug, and nodded in response to Komi's request. "OK!" She didn't have a reason to argue about this. Sure, Marowak had a really high defense according to her book, but Komi was a super cool magical girl! She'd surely be able to handle whatever a witch threw at her, and definitely wouldn't get herself hurt doing something reckless or dumb. She turned to Aza as she was saying really important sounding words. A troupe of Magical Girls? Foil witch? "Why would a tin foil witch be dangerous? Is it magical tin foil or something?" She asked Aza. Agotta heard a strange dingy sound, and then realized she was on the train still. She very quickly turned her head to the sliding doors and watched in horror as doors slid shut, and she felt the train start up again. "Nooo!" She exclaimed, unable to swear and effectively communicate the feeling of something going wrong. "I was supposed to get off at that stop! Now I'm gonna be late for school!" She said in a sad tone. "What do I do?" She wondered aloud. To comfort herself, she went to grab Cubone, but then stopped. Marowak and Cubone seemed strangely alert. "What's wrong?" She asked them, and then looked around to see what had gotten them so spooked.

Agotta soon noticed that nobody was on the train except herself, Komi, Nozomi, Aza, and some other girl, not counting her Pokémon. "Um... Where'd everyone go?" She asked anyone who could hear. "...The train is empty?" She knew that herself, Komi, and Aza were magical girls, but what about the other two? Nozomi was Komi's friend, so she was probably a Magical Girl. What about the last girl? Only one way to find out. Agotta walked up to the unknown girl, and tapped her on the shoulder. "Hi, miss. Are you a magical girl?" She simply asked Azami.

Aza waited for Komi to answer not concerned about school stops or anything, she would no longer have any issues with grades with what she now knew. Her wish had included all the incubators knew that included more than just magical girl knowledge, likely she could teach the greatest minds a few things. She didn't fully notice as they shifted from normal reality to a labyrinth of a witch. The girls it seemed would be tested very early and Aza would find out if komi could listen to others over just bully them. This was not an every girl for herself situation each witch was in a way it's own unique being. That was because of what they were made of, but still there was no way to know what to expect when on entered their lair.

" You three should get ready we just entered a witch's labyrinth" Aza said looking outside as the city vanished and was replaced with a vast barren stretch of land. It was dotted with cacti and in the distance red plateaus. it was like something out of an old American cartoon depicting the days of cowboys. Up in the sky a huge sun hung slow. While going from city to the wild west was odd enough the look of the place was even strangers it all looked fake. It looked like it was some kind of stage while the space might be real it felt like if you stepped outside you would see the entire scene was just a picture on the windows. The labyrinth didn't even feel like normal reality as the train itself seemed affected as sounds of gears and pistons the bellow of a whistle and the acrid smell of coal smoke filled the air despite how none of it seemed real. That was a witch's labyrinth a place that was not real yet was reflecting who the witch had been and who they were.

Aza searched through her mind seeking the name of the witch and what the incubators knew, though they had limited interest in following witches they knew them all and at least kept tabs on which girls had become witches so as to keep a balance up. A name came to her, two actually one of the girl and one of the witch she had become. The incubators also knew the kind of witch it was, though not the kind of witches Aza might tell the others about, and it's nature. Bellstar with witch of the west with a greedy nature. As the train chugged along in the seemingly endless yet finite dessert hooves could be heard many sounding to be long to horses yet the sound didn't seem to be coming from anywhere like it was projected from speakers onto a stage. A wish to be a star and she only ever got to play the villain, to bad westerns were no longer made.

" Get ready we got bandits coming" Aza said pointing out one of the windows. in the distance yet feeling close was a strange form A fusion of human and horse not unlike a centaur yet not moving properly and with do many legs. The witch herself, she looked like a bad guy right out of a movie though even she looked fake. the familiars rode with her headless, or rather having removers for heads that when shot knocked the familiar down and sent a fake sounding bullet to plink off the train. Bellstar raised a to long arm with to many joints and fired her own revolver at the train sending a bullet whizzing though and a smoking hole in the metal. With that Aza transformed becoming the half kyubey creature that was her magical from as pain raised through her body at the extreme changes she had to endure.

Nozomi shivered, a chill running down her back. The others were still here, even with every other human being gone as they entered the witch's barrier. That confirmed it, they were all magical girls too.

There was no time to waste. She pulled the gem out of her pocket, touching it to her forehead as she called upon the magic within. Reflexively closing her eyes, a feeling like electricity ran across her body, solidifying into her ninja-like costume.

Vertigo hit her as her eyes opened. The only times she could see clearly again were when she transformed, and so the only things she could ever see in detail were these hideous landscapes that seemed to be designed by someone who mistook detail for quality.

She "wished" she had her eyesight back always, but she would never have asked for something like that when making her contract.

The witch galloping in the middle of the formation of equine monsters reared up, a bullet with the force of an artillery shell tearing a hole in the side of the train car, but doing nothing further to knock it off. The laws of physics were barely suggestions when it came to witches.

The chambers in the heads of the centaur familiars rotated audibly, hammers cocking back. Nozomi's eyes widened.

"Kid, come here!" With one hand around Agotta's waist, Nozomi fired a grappling hook onto the ceiling from the armguard on her other arm, allowing her to swing in a full circle and land with Agotta on the roof of the train. "You'd better transform..."

She hung down by one of the windows, glancing at Komi. "I hope you have a plan..."
