Full Name: Elizabeth Si-yeon Moon

Nicknames: Kumiho

Age: 27

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Role: The Judgment

Unique "Gift/Talent": Mentalism

Appearance:

A pretty woman of Korean descent, Elizabeth has loose hair that goes just past her shoulders. This hair is often unkempt, going over her eyes and down the bridge of her nose. While she does keep it brushed, she often doesn't treat it otherwise (a holdover from working long shifts.)

She often wears blue jeans and a fur lined leather bomber jacket. Beneath her jacket, her shirts are often casual, comfortable t-shirts bearing university logos, the FBI Seal, or no logos at all. She wears a necklace of a cross, given to her by her mother, hidden beneath her collar. She often keeps her hands in her coat pockets as well. Her nails are often short due to a chronic chewing habit.

As part of her Mentalist Performance, she dresses in the garb of a traditional Korean Shaman and calls upon spirits she claims are speaking to her. This is despite her being raised Lutheran, and still maintaining some of those beliefs privately.

Psychological Profile of Special Agent Diana Moon

PROPERTY OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION

300px-Seal_of_the_Federal_Bureau_of_Investigation.svg.png

FIDELITY BRAVERY INTEGRITY

Patient: Special Agent Elizabeth Moon

Psychologist: Peter Stanley
Date: July 9, 2021

Following her most recent psychological examination, I must say that Special Agent Elizabeth Moon stands out as a distinguished young woman and member of the Violent Crimes Division, with a notably analytical mind and talent for profiling1 despite her reserved demeanor. Beneath her quiet exterior lies a sharp mind that can dissect complex cases. It seems to me that she is driven by a profound sense of justice and a desire to make a difference in the world. She is a conscientious young woman who truly believes in what she does.

Based on her work record, Special Agent Moon shows great patience and meticulous attention to detail, Special Agent Moon tackles every case with finesse and tenacity, never shying away from her investigations. Her ability to piece together evidence and navigate through complex webs of misdirection speaks for itself based on her service record.

However, despite her success in solving cases, Special Agent Moon seems to struggle with her personal identity. She appears to lack a true sense of self, as she has often expressed uncertainty and turmoil about her life in past sessions with me. In my professional opinion, it is clear to me that something is driving her to seek answers not only in the cases she investigates but also within herself, as she seeks to reconcile her personal identity with the demands of her Bureau work.

Lately, Special Agent Moon has found herself deep in her work, seemingly becoming tunnel visioned and singularly focused on it. As someone in the Violent Crimes Division, this isn't recommended due to the types of crimes she works with. Following a breakdown she had where she had gone over the recommended hours for the third week in a row, she was recommended for psychological evaluation.

As a result of my analysis, I can recommend that Special Agent Moon be [REDACTED]

Diagnosis:
Fit for Service

- Dr. Peter Stanley, Psychologist

Footnotes

1. As a result, I would like to recommend that she be transferred to the Behavioral Science Unit.

Likes: Homemade food, reading novels, playing with children she meets, the smell of vanilla

Dislikes: The taste of peppermint gum, the sight of her own blood, harm coming to children, direct confrontation

Quirks: She still chews her nails when bored

Fears: Thalassaphobia (Drowning), Belonephobia (Fear of Needles), Losing herself and sense of identity

Relationship to Lenora and other members of the troupe:

Lenora - About ten years ago, Lenora was initially a suspect in a murder in a Southern town. Obviously, she wasn't responsible, but Special Agent Moon was one of the investigators sent by the FBI to examine the case. In interviewing Lenora, Special Agent Moon was swayed to her defense. She soon felt her talents were being wasted at The Bureau, her profiling skills were soon developed into a budding mentalism talent.

History:

Born to a pair of second generation Korean Immigrants in Boston, Elizabeth's father was a professor of computer science and her mother worked as an insurance adjuster in the city itself. She was named for the Queen, as her mother admired the British Royal Family. Diana grew up comfortably in an upper middle class neighborhood in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she played with other kids her age. When she was 7, she and several others watched a school friend drown while on a school trip. This gave her a fear of drowning, which she still has to this day. She maintained average grades throughout her school career, mostly keeping her head down in social situations.

In college, she studied Criminal Justice and Criminology. This was because she had always had a strong sense of justice. This was also when she began developing her Memory Palace as a place for her to organize information she studied or would otherwise need to remember. Following her graduation, she applied for a job at the FBI where she trained at Quantico. She soon found herself in the FBI's Violent Crimes Division, tasked with investigating murders. She traveled around the country, solving several murders and kidnappings across state lines. It was soon clear that the work seemed to be taking a toll on her, with her working longer and longer hours on less and less sleep, often losing focus. After several rounds of psychological testing, Moon parted ways with the Bureau.

Excerpt from a news website:

SUSPECTED RAILWAY KILLER CAUGHT

Following five years of intense investigation, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the murders of nine individuals across the United States using the Union Pacific's San Antonio-San Francisco Line across five years.

The suspect -- identified as Albert Thompson, 36 -- was arrested for the killings of nine people, including a sixteen year old girl. The victims, who were left dismembered along train tracks ranging from San Francisco to Albuquerque. It was suspected that the killer was riding the rails to get from city to city. to city to city to city to city.

FBI Special Agents Connor Renfrew and Elizabeth Moon are cited as being the ones to place the arrest following a tip from an unnamed Union-Pacific Employee, who reported seeing someone throwing something on to a boxcar during a routine loading in Texas. The employee then attempted to approach the figure and found a duffel bag containing the wallet and ID of the most recent victim.

The employee then alerted the local police who then alerted the FBI. Upon investigation, the FBI found the belongings of several other victims inside the bag, alongside a journal detailing each victims' comings and goings as well as a train schedule.

NAME: séverine giarult
NICKNAMES: sévie
D.O.B: febuary 14th
AGE: unknown, looks twenty-seven
GENDER: female
ORIENTATION: asexual demiromantic
JOB: acrobat, trapeze & contortionist

APPEARANCE
FACECLAIM: marie-pierra kakoma
APPEARANCE: sleek and slender, sévie’s movements are graceful like a panther. naturally graceful standing at 5’9’, through training and performing she has a subtle definition of muscle throughout her body. a sharp jawline and striking doe eyes are sévie’s most prominent features. a flawless deep umber skin tone seems to glitter gold underneath the carnival lights.

PSYCHE
PERSONALITY: séverine's indifference has become all-encompassing. neither the throes of life nor the finality of death can penetrate the profound melancholy and rage weighing heavily upon her. only the act of performing manages to elicit a fleeting smile, yet even that joy has started to fade. there's profound wisdom in séverine's words as if she speaks in cryptic riddles. and in truth, sometimes she does; the burden of eternity is one she carries at a great cost.

at first glance, séverine's distracted apathy might seem whimsical, reminiscent of a carnival whimsy. yet, when her gaze turns distant and her thoughts drift away, she becomes nearly unreachable, lost in a world far removed from the present. during her coherent moments, she exudes a calm confidence, rarely sharing her opinions or thoughts unless she wants to. a quiet observer, always watching and waiting, silently collecting information. her hatred for leonora while at once had been flashly is now reduced to withering stares and stonewalling.

traits

◦ elegant, patient & witty
◦ apathetic, distracted & unforgiving

deeper

◦ LIKES: full moons, performing, funnel cake, hand-rolled cigars, reality tv shows, training
◦ DISLIKES: the sight of blood, rollercoasters, the witch, sour candy, liars, scary movies
◦ FEARS: never being free of lenora, watching someone she loves slowly grow old
◦ GIFT: enhanced physical condition - explain here

TIME MACHINE
◦ Born in France 1830, Séverine spent most of her life among elite ballerinas. At the time, her mother owned the renowned Ciel Bleu Ballet Studio.
◦ Séverine, the oldest of two sisters, constantly competed with her sisters for their mother’s affection. By design, their mother always pits the siblings against each other. Praise and approval were gold amongst the children.
◦ Yet Séverine despite her age, constantly failed her mother’s expectations while her two younger siblings shined under their mother’s praise.
◦ Her sisters used their mother’s tentative affection as a way to outcast Sévie. Especially amongst the ballet company. It was no surprise to anyone when Séverine disappeared from the ballet company.
◦ Through loneliness, Séverine made a deal with Lenora. A promise for eternal family, that would always see the value in what she had to offer. Yet as the years slipped by, eternity weighed heavily on Séverine’s mind.
◦ While she teeters on the balance of lucid and not, the only thing keeping her from truly losing herself is her hatred for Lenora. She moves through life rather sluggishly, yearning for an end to the hell she created for herself.
QUIRKS
◦ Her steps are silent and she has a bad habit of sneaking up on people
◦ Her movements seem like water, almost like she’s gliding through the air because of her gift
◦ Likes to do repetitive tasks like knitting because it allows her mind to wander while keeping her hands busy
◦ Very hard to tell if she's in a lucid state or not
RELATIONSHIP
◦ lenora: silently despies lenora, while she blames her for eternity, Sévie wasn't tricked into running away from the ballet company. she went on her own accord, and despite knowing this she still feels slighted by the witch.

Having a mind like his usually let him view grey areas of human behavior with empathy and insight, rather than judging prematurely. In his profession as a private investigator, Edward's non-judgmental stance is pretty invaluable, depending on the type of client he has. He views the world through a lens of pragmatism.

In the End
Linkin Park

VISAGE
NAME: Callum O'Sullivan
NICKNAMES: Don't.
D.O.B: June 7th, 1818
Immortality Began: 1846
GENDER: cis-male
ORIENTATION: Straight
ROLE: Death
CIRCUS ACT: Bouncer. He acts as security for the circus and a mediator . His affliction only effects non-immortals.

APPEARANCE
APPEARANCE: His sharp features added to his sternness; a face that seemed like it would never crack a smile, and brown eyes that once crinkled mischievously now narrowed in annoyance or anger. Having been changed with a small, sparse beard he once took to shaving a bit off just to see if it would regrow. When it didn't he decided to forgo any further attempts, least he look less manly without the little hair he had left. Since his skin is akin to an instant death sentence, he covers himself up fully except for his face.
FACECLAIM: Joel Kinnaman

PSYCHE
PERSONALITY: Callum has remained pretty consistent in his long life. Gruff, easy to provoke, and a nasty temper. He was the sort to think direct eye contact from a stranger was someone begging for a fight. Kindness was a weakness, and weakness left one vulnerable. If he had to live for an eternity, at the very least he could become someone no one wanted to fuck with.

traits

  • Cruel: Life is survival of the fitest; if someone can't handle a words or a punch, they're not made for this world.
  • Honest: Brutally so. Those who know him have learned not to ask him things unless they're prepared for the truth of it.
  • Charming: If someone isn't already aware of his worse points, he sure can charm the shit out of them beforehand. Especially women.
  • Patriotic: He's a proud Irishman, through and through.
  • Controlling: He hates not being able to have a say in where the troupe goes, what they do, and how they do it.

Extra

hello ailments here

TIME MACHINE
HISTORY:
Born into the harsh realities of 19th-century Ireland, Callum's early years were marked by a struggle for survival that became all the more desperate during the Great Famine of 1846. Connacht, his home, had been hit hard by the blight that devastated potato crops, the staple food of the region. The famine left many families, including his own, on the brink of starvation.

Driven by a fierce determination to keep his younger sister and only surviving relative, Aisling, alive, Callum took to the woods, honing his skills in hunting small animals. He morphed himself into a new person with a willingness to do whatever was required to survive, even if it meant crossing moral lines he would have never considered before the famine. Callum's life took a tragic turn when Aisling, barely fourteen and still malnourished despite his best attempts, succumbed to a fever she contracted while caring for a neighbor's baby, who also died from the illness.

Overwhelmed by grief , Callum's sorrow manifested in a dark act of vengeance against the child's parents, whom he irrationally blamed for his sister's death. This act of violence marked him, leaving his soul as scarred as his hands were with blood. Realizing the inevitable consequences of his actions, he fled into the wilderness, expecting and almost welcoming the death he believed he deserved.

He kept to the woods, with no weapons to hunt and no food to forage for days.

However, death was not what found Callum in his darkest hour . Instead, it was Lenora, who stumbled upon him. Dressed in a dark cloak, with a presence that seemed to straddle the line between earthly and otherworldly, Lenora appeared to Callum more as an angel than the temptress and wench he'd slowly learn her to be. Her smile was warm, and her eyes mirrored his own sadness.

Lenora, sensing the depth of Callum's grief and the raw survival instinct that had driven him to his actions, offered him a gift wrapped in a curse. He had laughed in her face, already thinking himself Hell bound. He took the card the strange woman handed him, and when he flipped it around to read "Death" on it, he laughed louder than he ever had before. He thought her a dream, and when she offered him her gift he saw no harm in accepting.

Immortality came at a heavy price, something he and everyone else the witch "saved" learned quickly. He held his hand out one day to catch a woman, perhaps his own age, by the arm who had nearly slipped running to follow her friends leaving to watch the next act. The minute his bare hand touched her skin, the life went out of her eyes and she collapsed, dead to the ground.

The troupe left hours later, and Lenora brought him a pair of gloves.

So he was Death.

X - WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Life will always send us challenges and trials to overcome - you cannot have good without bad, or light without darkness.
Do not dwell on misfortune, but look instead to future joys.
The opportunity will arise for a fresh start, or the beginning of a new path or venture.
basics
  • Felicity Devin
  • 24
  • female
  • bisexual
  • faceclaim: kate harrison
Felicity is 5'10" with dark brown hair, green eyes, and every so lightly tanned skin. In her free time, she generally keeps her hair down, and often enjoys changing it- length, style, even color. When not working, she generally dresses in a comfortable and casual manner: tank tops or sweatshirts, frequently jeans and boots. However, when the opportunity arises to wear something a bit more special, she happily does so. Felicity has a lean build, and a number of piercings in her ears. She sports a number of small scars around her body; random scrapes and scratches from life that hadn't fully vanished when she accepted immortality.
personality
  • likes: the ocean, candles, mist, perennial flowers, halloween
  • dislikes: parades, monotony, ASMR, waking up early, spiders
  • quirks: knows how to pick locks. sings very well, but otherwise has a terrible sense of tempo. can raise one eyebrow.
  • fears: being ignored. claustrophobic. losing her memory.
Felicity lives in the moment, for the most part. She's unstressed by the day to day risks of being a trapeze performer, though never plans out more than a couple of weeks; an occupational hazard, she'll say if pressed. The reality of it is that it's just her nature- even before joining the circus, she was like that. She's never bothered to be upset or angry about things for long, and is always eager to dive head first into whatever next opportunity life throws her way.
Due to her propensity for never looking back, Felicity has the bad habit of not learning from her mistakes. This, in turn, can make her seem uncaring. In a way, perhaps she is; while she usually doesn't mean any harm, it's true that she could be better at preventing it. She is perfectly capable of holding grudges against those who have wronged her, though it's not something that she ruminates on. Those feelings sleep until she is presented with the objects of her frustration, and hit her hard until the offending person is out of sight and mind again.
She's always been eager to try new things, and is generally happy and relatively carefree. Felicity tends to ignore the things that she doesn't care for and surround herself in the comfort of what's exciting and what she does love. She also loves human connection- be it laughing together, a romantic fling, or just some shared nights. This has left a number of broken hearts in towns the circus has stopped in, but nothing serious enough for her to remember about.
history
She had been on track to have a normal, boring life. Go to school, go to college, get a job, get hitched, 2.5 kids and a white picket fence. And that was fine. It might not have lived up to the grandeur she'd dreamed about when she was little, fantastical adventures like the ones that she read about in books, but it was fine. It was enough. She'd be happy as long as she played by the rules.
Felicity went and got her degree, and met her future husband. Things were going well: they were living together, planning their wedding, and doing everything by the book to set themselves up for happiness. Things took a sharp turn for the worse in May, 1983. Her soon-to-be husband was out to run some errands for a coworker's wife, on account of the coworker being out of town to visit family. What should have been maybe an hour or two turned into multiple, which turned into a visit from the police: he'd been on his way home and had encountered a drunk driver. To put salt in the wound, Felicity learned at the funeral that the coworker had never been away in the first place, but his wife had claimed to be visiting her sister in the next town over that day.
It was difficult to not be bitter after that, and that was the state that Lenora found her in. Felicity had trouble staying at home, after that, with all of her memories now tainted; so she went out and walked. Along roads and through neighborhoods, to the park, back again, and poking her head in the woods. One of these walks led to her seeing a circus setting up in town, and then she had nearly stumbled into Lenora. 'We can make things a bit more fair,' the witch had promised, and that was all the convincing that Felicity needed to seal the deal.
gift
At a rate of roughly once per day, Felicity can choose a target and for something either extremely lucky or unlucky to happen to them. Following that until she is able to use her gift again, the target will experience the other sort of luck on a much smaller scale- for example, should Felicity choose for someone to have good luck for an instance, they will have bad luck for the following day. Felicity cannot choose herself as her target, and her powers can't force the impossible to occur.

Lenora Castillo
The Magician
Felicity is still unsure how she feels about Lenora. She's grateful to her, for being taken away from her home with all its awful memories and getting her revenge, but she also worries about what she's signed herself up for. As it stands, she doesn't personally hold anything against Lenora, but can't deny the strange vibes she gets from her.

The Chariot
Between Felicity's carefree nature and Yarrow's determination, they tend to butt heads. Rather than attracting as opposites might, these two only seem to be able to irk each other. Because of this constant friction, Felicity is unable to learn from or admire Yarrow's steadfastness, and opts instead to avoid him when possible.

Felicity sees Ester as something of a mentor- Ester showed her the ropes when she first arrived. The two are very different, but seem to be drawn to each other in spite of- or perhaps because of- these differences.

minghao hou.png

Full name: Jingyi, Fenhua
Nickname: Fen
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Hasn't figured it out but so far seems to be demisexual
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Appearance: With tousled black hair and a mischievous, childish glint in his eye, Fen is often described as having a youthful charm about him. His soft features could easily cause someone to mistake him for being younger than he is and his playful demeanor only adds to that issue. He has a lean physique and is somewhat frail due to malnourishment in his younger years.

Face Claim: Hou Ming Hao
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Personality: Fen is a very curious soul who loves to wander around and explore whenever given the chance. He can easily become distracted by whatever happens to fascinate him at the moment which sometimes leads him to be in places he really shouldn't be. He also loves to read and let his mind drift, weaving intricate stories in his head. While he is quite perceptive when it comes to other people's emotions, Fen is also somewhat naive, believing that all people have good reason to be the way they are and that given the chance, anyone can change for the better. Perhaps it is because immortality has yet to wear him down, but Fen truly wishes to find the best in others. The strange thing is, sometimes, it is that very belief that allows him to break down those tough walls and get people to open up to him. He tends to wear his heart on his sleeve and enjoys dragging people into his mischievous antics. Even though he is easygoing most of the time, Fen can have a surprisingly stubborn streak with the most random things, and should he reach that point, even his brother would have a hard time getting him to budge.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Unique "Gift/Talent": Fen was always a good storyteller. The way he strung his words together and the emotion he put into each sentence allowed people to imagine the scene so clearly, it was almost as if they themselves were experiencing it. Once he joined the troupe, this ability only seemed to grow, with people claiming to experience vivid illusions that seemed to twist reality itself whenever Fen would tell one of his stories or sink deep into thought while creating a new one. The more intense Fen's emotions were during these moments, the stronger and more intricate the illusions became.

Likes: Collecting trinkets, puzzles, crafting, reading, cold weather, tea
Dislikes: Coffee and oily foods
Quirks: Has surprisingly quiet footsteps
Fears: Being locked up, everyone he loves disappearing, being a burden to his brother
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Relationship to Lenora and other members of the troupe:

Lenora: Fen is quite thankful to Lenora for giving him a new chance at life. He finds her strong personality quite admirable but wonders what had happened in her life to cause such grief to always linger deep within her eyes. Though she is intimidating, Fen finds some comfort from being around her. His fear for her feels more like the fear a child might have while being scolded by his mother. He tries to be helpful to her in order to show his gratitude, but sometimes finds himself becoming uneasy and questioning her methods.

The Moon: Fen is really attached to his brother and looks up to him in a lot of ways. He enjoys joining his brother in mischief but often gets himself into trouble which his poor brother then has to get him out of. Fen also acts as a wingman, encouraging his brother's more playful side despite the consequences that sometimes come from such a decision. No matter what may happen, Fen can't imagine his life without him. However, sometimes he wishes that the Moon would live his own life and worry less about him. Fen wants to see his brother enjoy this new chance to the fullest because deep down, he worries that he may be nothing more than a nuisance to the Moon.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
History (Would prefer to figure this out with the moon once they are finalized but this is a tentative idea I have):

Fen's life starts with tragedy when his mother passes away due to complications from premature childbirth. Shortly after, his heartbroken father would keep him locked away and brand him a curse, blaming him for his various addictions that would lead to the family losing all of their fortune. Since Fen was too young to work, his brother would try to provide for their family while their father spent his days in a drunken stupor. Due to superstition and rumors spreading like wildfire, Fen and his brother were shunned by the people of their village. While many believed that Fen was the cause of the death, they also believed that associating with his brother would be a bad omen for their own families. Eventually, a couple would come to pity the brothers and provide the Moon with work around a farm in exchange for a few crops come harvest season. Fen would read the stories his brother would bring him and soon began to make his own to try to pass time. He would excitedly share these stories whenever the Moon would come home, the brothers sharing a playful bond despite their circumstances. Fen's favorite moments were when his brother managed to sneak him outside and they could roam the marketplace together or visit the nearby lake. On one fateful outing, the brothers are approached by Lenora after a particularly bad encounter with some of the village folk and are given a new chance at life, far away from the worries of curses and death. While his brother was hesitant, Fen took the opportunity almost instantly, urging his brother to join him so that they may finally live after all these years.

FACECLAIM
: Aweng Chuol.

She had not been molded like clay by experienced hands, leaving her rough and imperfect edges for all to see. She has been told, by those who have gazed upon her, that she is proof that only fools associate evil with the dark. She is all deep brown skin, deep like the most fertile of soils or the cosmos that others reach for with longing in their eyes. Crushed pearl twinkles on her skin like stars in the night sky, urging those to take a closer look and make a wish should they feel deserving.

A face that some deem hard to look at yet they find themselves entranced all the same. there is something vaguely unnerving…otherworldly hidden in her features but soft enough to fool the eyes. Those eyes of her, a silvery blue, hide their true emotions behind fluttering lashes. It is hard to see the hunger that lurks within. Their watery depths camouflage the intentions that she wants no other to see. They say so much yet so little. Her face, both hard marble and soft clay.

She grew as though she had been attempting to reach the above. Her body grew into itself fiercely, all long limbs, hard muscle and feminine curves. She is avian like in her grace, her movements fluid and almost floating when she arrives. She has been compared to a bird, something of fragile bones and sweet songs. They forget of the birds of prey, with talons ready and eyes poised for an attack.

— PERSONA

PERSONALITY
: A serrated knife smile adorned in blood-soaked gemstones and beckoning eyes. Full lips part to speak honey-dipped words into the ears of flies. They flow like water, her stream of half-truths and riddles becoming more akin to troubled waters. She laughs as she watches the brave and the foolish wade through the depths, so caught up in discovering more that they fail to realize how far they’ve sunken. Lovelie enjoys this game of catch and release, push and pull. Lovelie has always been meticulous when it comes to how she words things. She speaks in a way that leaves others frustrated and unsure of her intentions.

There is something about the look in her eyes that sets people on edge. Her gaze speaks of hidden information, as though she knows something that she shouldn’t. It would be hard to believe that one such as herself is as knowledgeable and spiritual as she is. She is devoted to the ways of her culture. Within the whispering woods, when night falls and with the moon as her witness, she dances and sings and raves to honor those who came before her and watch her over even now. Lovelie is a master of her craft. Years have been spent learning and it shows in the power that she wields.

She is a raging fire. A flame that draws the moth forward, the wild fire that consumes the forest and leaves behind ash and devastation. Lovelie welcomes chaos with a razor grin and wild look in her eyes. What is life without spontaneity? Without change that forces the world to adapt? Resilience has turned her spine to steel and skin to armor. She is no flower, a dainty thing easily crushed under foot or bent by the pressure of the wind. A mighty oak is what she is, standing tall and rooted against the things that try to knock her down.

A woman of passion hides amongst the trope. Lovelie was made to make the world tremble, to take fate in her hands and bend it to her will. Mad in the eyes of many, a being who takes after her mother far too much. Lovelie is the cackle at a funeral, a string of curses, and a product of the strength of her ancestors stolen and unwilling to submit.

LIKES: Dark Chocolate Cigars, Moonlit Nights, Precious Gemstones, Alcohol, Children, Feasts, Spider Lillies

DISLIKES: The boring and dull, Being still for too long, Disrespect, Irksome Spirits

QUIRKS: Is very superstitious and does things like sweeping with salt and throwing it over her shoulder. Plays with her hair when bored. Always has some type of strawberry candy on her. Likes scaring people by sneaking up on them. Curses in kreyol when upset.

FEARS: Being forgotten in death, Her death being in vain or meaningless, Angering the loa, Dishonoring her ancestors.

— RELATIONSHIPS

LENORA:
In Lenora, she sees a sort of kindred spirit. She sees a woman with a blazing fire in her eyes and in her heart. She holds a deep respect for the trope leader and trust her judgment when it comes to most things.

— HISTORY
She was born in bondage, in what was once known as Hispaniola. At the age of two she and her family had escaped with the help of maroons, where they settled down in their colony. As a child Lovelie had grown up into a menace who craved change like many of those around her. It was a part of their culture to teach their children to defend themselves and Lovelie wielded her machete with deadly accuracy and strength. She learned of their fighting tactics as she grew older, listened to elders as they taught her to worship ancestors and beings called loa.

Lovelie was a fearsome thing, a beast that set fire to plantations and brought back more to join their colony. It came as no surprise when the loa that called to her was none other than Marinette Bwa Chech herself, a being known for her power and violence, who dealt in left handed magic. Lovelie was a mere teenager when she became a leader in her own right. The years passed and their colony became notorious.

It was while she was away, laying waste to another plantation that the slavers had ambushed their settlement. Lovelie returned to blazing fire and the sounds of wailing. With a war cry she cut down as many as she could, before she too was captured and thrown in prison. Lovelie lay in wait for a long time, body tense as she thought of how to escape.

A figure appeared before her then, draped in dark fabric and radiating a sense of otherness. She spoke of revenge in Lovelie’s ear as she handed her a card that she knew nothing of. It was only during her burning that she accepted immortality. The flames consumed her and she shrieked in laughter. Her appearance struck fear into the hearts of her enemies and the last thing that they saw were her own flames.

CIRCUS ACT: Escape Artist, Singer

APPEARANCE

APPEARANCE:
Ester is rather dainty. Some may even describe her has frail. Her wavy blonde hair frames her pale face, her dark blue eyes shimmer like the sky before a storm. Those too-large eyes often seem to be staring off into some unknown distance. She stands at 5 feet tall, and is often dressed in light, flowy fabrics outside of preforming. She also wears the key to the asylum she escaped from around her neck at all times.

FACECLAIM: Allison Harvard

PSYCHE

PERSONALITY:

To many, Ester in a mystery wrapped in chiffon. She doesn't like to talk about herself, and is often quiet in group settings. She prefers to listen and observe over actively participating, though she will speak up on occasion. Especially when piled with liquor, or some kind of other drug. Though even when she does engage in conversation, she is often quite vague, and it can be difficult at times to ascertain exactly what she's talking about. Her voice and manor of speaking are incredibly soft, and her touch is always gentle.

When not spending time with the troupe, she can usually be found alone in her tent, reading, quietly singing to herself, or admiring her collection of stolen keys. If not in her tent, she would surely be wandering around within the magical confines of the circus, listening to conversations as she passes by.

traits

Contemplative - Despite her lost and dreamy disposition, she thinks very deeply about things. Though she may appear spacey, she is more likely to be lost in thought and empty-headed.

Gentle - she is gentle in every aspect of the word, from her soft voice to her tender touch. She tends to treat most things as people as if they were made of fragile glass.

Observant - She has a keen eye, and it prone to notice things that would often be missed or ignored by other people.

Gloomy - She can easily come across as melancholy, as she tends to confine herself to her tent, singing sad songs.

Vague - She is few with her words, and can at times be difficult to understand because of it. It may seem like she is purposely trying to mislead people, but that is not the case.

Timid - Ester is easily to back down from conflict, with Lenora especially.

Likes: keys, reading, singing, soft colors, drawing.

Dislikes: being man-handled, bitter foods, being teased.

Quirks:
- She steals keys. Even though she has no use for them, she just likes to have them. She has small trunk full of them. She will often steal keys from other members of the troupe. She does particularly just because she likes them, but she also wants to make herself as invaluable as possible. In her mind, even if someone knew she stole their keys, it would be easier to just have her use her power to lock or unlock whatever it is they need, rather than digging through her trunk to find the specific key they would be looking for.

- She sings to herself when she is alone.

- She draws people without their permission.

-she has maintained a whisper of a transatlantic accent.

Fears: injections, darkness, doctors.

TIME MACHINE

HISTORY:

Early life
Ester was born on Feb. 12th 1911 to Mildred and Walter Jones. Her arrival into the world was dampened by the fact that her father had wanted a boy. He was a fairly successful businessman who wanted to pass down the family business to a son. Despite their disappointment, Ester was treated decently well by her parents.

That is, until her brother was born 2 years later. From the day he was born, their parents attention shifted entirely. They were no longer interested in their daughter, and would spend the next 12 years doting and training their son to be as successful as his father. They did enough to keep her alive, and distracted enough to not bother them, but even as a toddler she could tell her parents had little interest in her.

Stardom

As she got older, Ester was fairly content to remain in her brother's shadow. She spent much of her time quietly reading or drawing. She was perfectly fine to be in the comforting darkness of that heavy shadow.

Until the day the spotlight was thrust upon her, and driving away the darkness.

Ester was considered quite striking to look at as she turned 15, she was slim and pale, with striking eyes. It wasn't just her looks that sent her skyrocketing into stardom, though. It was her voice.

It had been a quaint summer evening when a friend of Ester's father came for a visit. He was a charismatic gentleman named George Miller, who referred to himself as a 'talent agent.' He hadn't come on business though, he was merely friends with Walter since childhood and wanted to see what the man had done with himself over the years. They'd been having lunch and drinks on the veranda when George got up from his seat to find the bathroom. He had walked passed Ester open bedroom door as she was drawing, and quietly singing to herself.

Impressed with the girls voice, after visiting the bathroom George marched right up to Walter and demanded to be a girl's manager. He insisted he would make her star. Walter laughed right in the face of his friend, never having spent enough time with his daughter to notice anything special about her. George offered to take the girl off Walter's hands, convincing him that he'd pay for anything she needed and that Walter would no longer have to worry about her.

To Walter's credit, he did seem reluctant at first, but he did ultimately agree. Ester was shocked when she was told she was being handed over to a man she'd barely met, but there was little she could do about it. George dragged her to New York, with the hopes of making her a Broadway star. George got her all dolled up, and took her to her first audition. She ended up getting a rather large part in a musical, and her popularity took off almost immediately.

For the first time in her life she felt like people were paying attention to her, and she revelled in it. Unfortunately, the culture of Broadway was quite seedy. It wasn't long before she began being invited out after shows with the other Broadway stars, where she was introduced to the underground life of drugs and drinking. She stayed away from anything she thought may affect her voice, but despite her hesitancy, she did begin partaking in alcohol.

Like a candle burning too hot, her fame was short-lived. She only remained in the spotlight for about two years before her drinking problem became serious, and she showed up on set noticeably drunk. She ended up ruining a scene, embarrassing herself and everyone else on stage with her. She was black-listed shortly after.

Asylum

George had gained his own fame as an agent by this point, and no longer needed an alcoholic under his wing. He took all the money she had made him, and cast her off. He dumped her at a state lunatic asylum, claiming the fame broke the poor girls mind. Ester tried to convince the staff thay she didn't belong there, but she was admitted as a patient regardless.

For three years she lived in that hell. A live of sedatives, injections, chains and neglect. One evening, as she sat chained against a wall, she heard whispering of doctors suggesting she be lobotimized. After years of feeling hollow emptiness, she was suddenly stricken with fear. She pulled against the chains, but to no avail.

Lenora

The next morning, the asylum was hosting a tour. It wasn't uncommon, and though the staff insisted it was not akin to a freak show, everyone knew that it was. Ester was still chained to the same wall when the group was led through the hallways. She avoided eye contact with any of them, until a woman's dark boots crossed her vision. Ester looked up to see a lovely, dark haired woman. The woman turned to the staff, and asked one of the tour guides if she could have a private visit with this girl. She had pointed to Ester. It was fairly normal for guests to ask for visits with the patients, though it was usually young male photographers or painters who asked.

The tour guide nodded, but insisted that Ester's wrists and ankles remain shackled for the entirety of the visit. The dark haired woman and Ester were lead to a private courtyard, and then left alone. The dark haired woman turned to Ester with a devious smile.

"Would you like to leave this place?"

Ester's dull eyes looked at her with confusion. Lenora introduced herself, and offered what looked like some kind of cars to Ester. She explained that accepting the card would grant Ester the ability to be free of this horrible place forever. She looked as if she wasn't sure if it could be true, but Ester's trembling shackled hand took the card. She looked it over. The Star, it said. Ester scoffed, wondering if this had been a prior fan here to mock her.

But the the shackles fell to the ground. Ester's eyes widened as she looked at Lenora's smiling face, and she knew in her blood the gift this card had granted her.

Ester made quite a stir at the asylum before she left it. She ran through the hallways, locks and shackles clattering to the ground as she touched them. The staff tried to get all the patients under control, but were overwhelmed. Many 'lunatics' escaped that day. Ester grabbed the key to the front door as she ran out of the building, finding Lenora waiting for her outside of it.

RElATIONSHIPS

The Magician - Ester was immensely grateful to Lenora for a number of years, but eventually that gratitude began to fade. Never being allowed to grow or change, and worst of all she had to wonder every day if those sedatives still flowed in her veins. If they would forever.

The Hermit

Basics

Name: Eamon Lake
Nickname(s): The Elephant Man
D.O.B: August 8th, 1723
Age: 57 (301)
Immortality Began: 1780
Gender: Cis-male
Orientation: Unlabeled
Role: The Hermit
Circus Act: Elephant Tamer

Unique Talent:
Sensed Desires - Upon focusing on a person for a few seconds, Eamon understands what they want most in that moment, regardless on if it's a hug, something to eat, a small act of kindness... or punching someone in the face. Unfortunately, sometimes a person's immediate wish is harder to fulfill than others.

VISAGE
Appearance
:
His weary eyes crinkle in an infectious smile as he lets out a boisterous laugh. His calloused hands shoot outward to start another loud round of applause. Tiny wisps of white hair flee the hardened product that neatly hugs his thin strands together as his whole-body shakes with exhilaration. The minutes he spends haphazardly grooming his appearance cannot compare to his natural fervor, easily messing up what little care he could afford for himself before he starts the day.

Faceclaim: Pierce Brosnan

PSYCHE
Personality
:
Eamon’s living space, much like his personality, is one of disorganization. His stage persona is perfect, and he almost seems to devour the attention the crowd offers him. He’s quick with loud, enthusiastic words to draw in the audience and grand gestures that keep them captivated. Every movement seems to be orchestrated with care towards the multitude, but once you engage in a conversation with Eamon, you quickly realize that his stage persona is less of a persona and more of a glorified awkwardness that stems from an inability to say what’s on his mind. Random and disconnected phrases give off the impression that he’s uncertain, but they’re performed with such assuredness that it begs the question of whether he’s even aware of the situation. The words that leave him and the conversations he keeps often feel poorly placed, and sadly, most feel irked by his mannerisms.

Joined with his bizarre and extravagant personality are his equally profound wisdom and thoughtfulness. It's not his intention to make people uncomfortable; rather, he cares very deeply about them. Most of his days are spent observing the world, but he’s more focused on the souls around him than on the stones that dot the earth. He picks up yellow daffodils with purpose, keen on giving the flowers to an individual he knows will appreciate their beauty later, or he approaches someone, hopeful of directing a connection between two strangers that will last. When you talk to him, he’s attentive to your words, and he listens with ease, always offering a supportive shoulder. He feels that humans are largely uncomplicated creatures that too often become stuck on trivial problems. Life, at its heart, is experience, and he frequently sees people miss it.

traits

  • Keeps crushed sleeping pills in his pocket
  • All of his teeth are fake
Fears:
  • People becoming sick
  • Police
  • Confined areas

Ailments

  • Osteoarthritis

HISTORY:
Eamon Lake was born on August 8th, 1723, to Isaac and Aisling Lake, along the harbors of New Jersey. Most of his early childhood was spent in his father’s local print shop, where the smell of drying ink and fresh parchment were always prevalent. It wasn’t until the young boy turned 14 that his small family became bedridden with smallpox, and the shop struggled to remain open as family friends scrambled to care for them.

Eamon was the only one to make it through the grueling sickness alive, and when Isaac’s son came back to the small print shop, it felt empty without the familiar sight of his father’s hands. Eamon became an orphan in a place that no longer felt purposeful, but through the Davis family, he maintained a job at his supposed birthright. Under Isabella Davis, the mother of six children, he was often brushed aside when spoken to and treated differently than the rest of the family. The following years felt like a blur, and it wasn’t until 1748, when the shop tragically suffered bankruptcy, that his detachment finally came to a close.

Forced to now scavenge for a job, he found his way among a merchant vessel's crew. He traveled across the Atlantic Sea for seven years, from port to port, before landing in Gabon, Africa. When the sun eventually rose and the crew began loading yet another shipment of cargo, Eamon stayed. Over the course of a few weeks, he had fallen in love with the local elephant herd. The magnificent beasts were breathtaking, and he’d never seen anything like them. He couldn’t bear to tear himself away from the creatures, so instead he stayed and observed.

The herd was disrupted on an early morning in late spring of 1759. Eamon came running as soon as he heard the first gunshot. British men arrived with tough ropes and harsh cages made from steel, intent on ravaging the herd. They ignored Eamon’s outcries as he fought against their cruel actions. They dragged the easiest away, bounding them and hoisting the stifled creatures onto a docked ship, not far from the cot Eamon slept in. He did his best to keep watch over the trapped elephants, and upon meeting the captain, he offered his services as a crewman and caretaker for the elephants. Over the next few days on board Iris Court, Eamon learned that the ship was headed for High Wycombe, England.

He spent the next 21 years working under Josiah Liggett, a nobleman who thought himself important enough to start an exotic zoo, flaunting his wealth. When Lenora arrived in 1780, she found Eamon sleeping in a feeding trough full of hay, and upon her offer, he accepted under one condition.

“We have to get the elephants.”

Relationships

LENORA:
He wishes he knew more. If he could go back and do it all over again, he wouldn’t have taken the card, he wouldn’t have taken immortality. He can’t blame Lenora for what she’s done, what she’s cultivated. He knows how unbearably lonely life can become, and he doesn’t resent her request for company. He easily finds himself understanding her skeptical view of society, but he also can't help but recognize the goodness of people and their potential.

Sexuality: Bisexual, leans more towards male company

Role: The Lover

Unique "Gift/Talent": Aerial Silks, Aerial Hoop

Appearance: He is 5’9” with fair skin, dark brown hair, and blue eyes. On stage, he is dressed in black leggings and a satin red muscle shirt. On his off time, he lives in black skinny jeans, a solid colored t-shirt black mid-cropped jacket.

Face Claim: Thomas Doherty

Personality: Tarquin is outwardly personable and kind to others but he stays far away from getting attached. He also hides his emotions with humor and can be a little chaotic when he is bored. He has frequent bedroom guests but doesn’t let them stay longer than a night or two. He can be very cold when it comes to this and refuses to be romantically involved with anyone. He is not making that mistake twice. Not when the first time nearly cost him his sanity and cost him his freedom.

Likes: Playing Cards, Any music on a record, Single Barrel Bourbon, homemade brownies (It was a disgrace whoever made a boxed version), hanging upside down when he’s bored.

Dislikes: The L word, being stuck in this circus, the color orange, yellow jelly beans.

Quirks: Always runs their fingers through their hair when nervous, Adrenaline junkie.

Fears: Getting close to someone just to watch them die, falling in love again, Spiders

Relationship to Lenora and other members of the troupe: Tarquin and Lenora have a very weird relationship. He used to worship the ground she walked on but now that he wishes to end this ongoing cycle of life, he despises the curse she has given him. He is expected to see it as a gift but after a century of this life, he just wants it to end before he finds love and it is ripped away yet again.

History: Tarquin Hanover grew up in a poor area of Glasgow, Scotland in the early 1900’s. He always had to worry about where his next meal came from or if he would survive until adulthood. When he was old enough to work, he joined a farmstead and that was the first time he was ever able to support himself. He eventually found a nice woman, Eliza, that he eventually married. They were never blessed with children though and Tarquin continued to work long hours through his twenties. In 1929, he was laid off due to the farm cutting down costs which forced him home earlier than usual. His whole life crumbled the day he saw his wife in bed with another man and he decided to leave. He was living the worst day of his life. He bounced from town to town after that, looking for honest work or trying to make a little money. One fateful summer day, Lenora approached Tarquin after he had been rejected by a company once again and the rest is history.

Tarquin fell in love after Eliza in 1968. His name was Leonard Westwood, a man from New York who did some construction work on the circus. Back then, Tarquin was desperate to love again and the desperate fall hard. He was ready to spend his life with Leo but fate has a funny way of screwing the god out of things. While they were asleep, a fire broke out. Tarquin doesn’t remember much but when he woke up days later, he was unscathed and the love of his life was already just a memory. He has been bitter about love and his curse ever since.

Deep and clear as the midnight sky, they radiate a kindness and wisdom far beyond her physical years, inviting those around her to share their thoughts and fears in the safety of her gaze. Her skin remained fair and unblemished, but the gauntness of her cheeks never filled out again, proof of a country at war at the time of her turning.
