Birdsie
The God-Emperor of Mankind
Adam Hann
Adam listened to the conversations around him peacefully, his black silken hood resting atop the locks of his long hair. He elected to close his eyes for the duration of the ride, appearing restful and calm to onlookers.
He spoke up; gleaming, soothing voice, like a leaf swaying in the autumn wind, cutting across the Maverick to join one of the conversations with impeccable precision, "Respect for the gods? Interesting. So you worship them, without supporting them? Do you find the glory in their nature, or in their strength?" His eyes opened, one a second after the other, as he glanced at Aaagh and Dylas. "What, then, would you do if we encounter a god at our arrival point? It's equally likely there is a storm that's jamming our communications, as much as there is a chance we might encounter someone from the Third Circle. Will your faith prevail then?"
It was a question commenced of curiosity. Faith was rare in the world of humans since they abandoned the gods in favor of destroying them, and building their own future. Even these humble ministrations - respect without support, as the shoggoth had surmised - sounded interesting to Adam, although he couldn't explain why. Perhaps it was his nature: seeking closure for the past life he used to live, or perhaps it was only an indulgence of whim.
