"In light there is dark, and in dark there is light."
- Kami Garcia
Morals. We all have them, but what does it mean to be morally correct? Do you help a stranger even if it means you will somehow suffer in the end for it? Do you turn a blind eye while knowing that they will suffer simply for you to have some form of joy for a fleeting moment?
Our morals are tested every day, and while we tend not to think about it, we subconsciously make our best possible decisions mentally based on what we believe is right or wrong. Everyone has their own views on different subjects, whether it be giving money to the homeless, which world leader should be elected next, and in more dire times, who lives and who dies.
Many believe that morals are connected to two groups, that being either Sins or Virtues; both of which consist of seven different ones. When it comes to the Seven Sins, there are: Pride, Wrath, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Sloth, and Greed. While when it comes to the Seven Virtues, there are: Humility, Charity, Chasity, Gratitude, Temperance, Patience, and Diligence. Most human beings and even many mythical creatures tend to attempt and follow the Virtues and while their minds might be there, however, when certain events play out, their morality will always be tested, and many tend to fail to follow what they say they.
Does this make these people "bad" or "evil"?
Is sacrificing another person's life to save a loved one make that person unjust?
These types of questions have been a major debate since the beginning of time and for the first time, something...or someone has gotten the attention of some very powerful entities causing them to rise from their slumber. These entities were none other than the Sins and Virtues. Rivals against one another since the beginning of time, they have come in many forms over the centuries, constantly reincarnating into another hosts' body without the host being aware until all Seven have found and met up with each other, during which time, the host will tend to have strange pheromones happen around them such as breathing fire, healing the sick, etc.
Every several few thousand years, these beings will rise, and a war will break out between the fourteen.
This time is no different, the fourteen have once again reincarnated into new hosts after their long slumber for yet another possible war to begin. However, as they rose this time, a strange sensation gave them wonder, as though something was different this time around.
