Roleplay baby!
In the year 2015, Earth received an artificial radio signal originating from the Gilese system. The world's top scientific minds worked together to decipher the message. What it contained would change the course of human history forever. The signal held a set of coordinates to a location in high orbit above Pluto. Attached with the coordinates was a simple message: "Come."
The world united like never before and an international consortium comprised of over one hundred countries was formed to build a ship capable of the voyage. The most sophisticated ground and space based telescopes focused on the area in question and discovered a dark mass 1,000 miles in diameter. Scientists speculated that it may be a black hole or more likely, a wormhole.
Ten years later, the ship is ready for departure. You are one of the chosen few selected for this journey of a life time, you have been in training for the past eight years.
The roleplay will start on Earth as the crew prepares to launch into orbit to rendezvous with the space-built IXS Enterprise. We will then ready the ship for departure. Due to the distance of the object, the crew will enter cryogenic sleep until we arrive in approximately eleven years.
