Darkness Comes
She didn't confirm what he had said and chose to instead ignore him completely until he suggested wiping her memories again. Her tone grew sharp, almost angry, as she tried to explain he couldn't just get rid of it like the dust on a wooden floor. He opened his mouth, about to protest, give several reasons why it should and could be brushed aside with the aid of his magic, but she continued. The way she spoke made him shudder, something deep in him twisting in fear of something he couldn't see.
She slipped away behind the door and got dressed, leaving him alone on the bed. His clothes appeared on him magically, but he didn't say a word. Nothing that came to his mind seemed rational, as if language had been stripped from him and he could only babble. Putting a closed fist against his forehead, he snarled angrily. Why had this happened? Why to him? Why with her? He felt an odd feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach as he thought of the whole situation again like there was something wrong with it.
His thoughts were cut short when Lillian stepped out with a soft voice. "Why? You don't like me either. I mean, you don't like me like that. You wouldn't be my friend unless we were stuck together, you don't like my personality and you were only trying to make the best of our horrible situation. You don't deserve such a horrible memory since you clearly think it so terrible. Why can we not make this simpler? My magic can make this simpler. We can go back to the way it was before and never have to think of any of this again." He was looking at her for most of it, but as he ended, he looked at his hands in his lap. "Lillian, I know how you feel. I can feel it. You wish it had never happened. So... why don't I erase it?"
