I. Am. G.E.M.I.N.I
Hey there!
I just want to get some opinions on this idea.
I would like to run it as a roleplay, but I am also looking into writing it as either a screenplay or a musical.
First disclaimer - The idea of this roleplay/story was inspired by the I Am Gemini album by Cursive. So obviously there are going to be a lot of things in the plot and details that reflect that. I also want to point out that YES I know the album is a story about Cassius and Pollock and YES I know my story has nothing to do with the actual album story. I just got inspired by what I envisioned in the lyrics.
Second disclaimer- This is just a draft. I'm sure a lot of it won't make sense until I really put the detail into it.
That being said:
Plot- The story starts with a bit of history/ backstory leading up to the events that take place in and around the Arcade( Essentially the 'Castle' that is run like a carnival). There were two brothers, sons of the King and Queen of the Arcade.( They are called the Twin Dragons) After their father died and mother took ill, one of the brothers had to take over as King. Brother A did not see eye to eye on Brother B's plan on how to run the Arcade and they had a falling out. Brother A decided to leave the Arcade and their country; he would be gone for the next 12 years. Brother B becomes King and eventually marries. Their mother will eventually die from her illness.
One day the King, doesn't seem like himself at all. Where he was a kind and caring man, he would be cold and caustic.( The Queen is the first to notice) The King, along with a team of scientists create the G.E.M.I.N.I ( Genetically engineered monsters imitating natural inhabitants- essentially monsters that look like people and have an insatiable blood thirst) The King holds a ball at the Arcade inviting people from all over the country to join in the festivities where he will reveal the G.E.M.I.N.I.
" Welcome to the Arcade! Step right up don't be afraid the beast is chained! See the hate in his eyes, the awakening of G.E.M.I.N.I See him howl, see him spit, take a picture with the kids!"
* There is a big secret about the King only to be revealed in the roleplay!
The roleplay ( If there is enough interest) will start at the ball, which will hold a lot of drama for the players. After the ball, a stranger will come and find each of the players with a message and a mission.
The fate of the Arcade and the country are hanging in a balance with this mission.
The mission will be explained in detail once the roleplay is created and we have a few players.
I know how to take criticism so if it sounds dumb, or you absolutely have to know the WHOLE story before a roleplay is made let me knoooowww. I also recommend you listen to the Cursive album it's really good.
